Pełny tekst źródłaWith the growth of all the e-commerce activities in the world, people have chosen to request electronic services that are becoming more and more widespread, especially with the use of the internet, that its now present in all of our life. With this new scenario, the markets and the general people request mobile applications or “apps” that helps them in their daily life and routines. These apps are getting more customizable and adapting to their customer’s needs, retrieving the requested information and performing the service with no delay in response. In this context, House Worker's business project was born, in the face of the need of families who require specialized services to maintain and increase the comfort of the home. This will be possible with the collaboration of special technicians who will provide the service in short time depending on the needs of the users. House Workers will provide better offers of electricity and plumbing services, which will be requested through the mobile application that will always be committed to providing the best service and fulfilling its objective of providing to families all the help they need regarding the malfunction with their home appliances, electric connections, or some trouble with their pipes. In addition to providing preventive maintenance in due time. Initially, the service will be provided only at Lima Metropolitana, nevertheless we will plan to expand to the other peripheral districts compatible with our target audience and we project the possibility to reach other cities of the country.

I followed a working schedule, I had made beforehand, similar to the opening hours of commercial market, thereby questioning artistic labor and art production within a working structure of what we know from society. The schedule dictated that I worked on the walls 45 minuts per hour, and that I by each hour changed colors. The total amount of sessions I worked per day was 8, thereby also using 8 different colors. Each day I would use the same colors in the same hour, starting with the bright yellow and finishing with the dark blue. remittances affect output growth in a positive manner through the multiplier process. It is found that the highest induced growth rate by remittances to output growth belongs to the early 1970s especially the year of 1973, which corresponds to the date of first oil shock and also the end of labour migration to Europe. Thus, it is concluded that although workers&rsquo
remittances have been mostly used for consumption and imports as mentioned in most of the studies both for Turkey and other countries, remittances contributed to economic growth of Turkey positively through the multiplier process especially in the early 1970s.

This work presents an analysis to the Workers' Compensation best estimate under the Solvency II regime that came into force in January 1st 2016, modelling the liabilities based on the applicable legislation, mainly the Law 98/2009. Within the scope of Solvency II, the best estimate of non-life liabilities are calculated separately under claims provision (concerning claims that have already happened) and premium provision (concerning future claims that are covered by the existing contractual obligations). The best estimate of life liabilities should be calculated separately for each policy. Workers' Compensation presents the particularity of being composed of different natured liabilities, which provides in its modeling the application of life and non-life actuarial methodologies. Under Solvency II, these liabilities are split into two lines of business: Workers' Compensation insurance using non similar to life techniques (NSLT) and annuities stemming from non-life insurance contracts and relating to health insurance obligations using similar to life techniques (SLT). The approach to this report was conducted separately considering the breakdown of the best estimate under Solvency II and the Workers' Compensation liabilities divided into non similar and similar to life techniques. Due to the diversification of existing literature, this work has been developed focusing on the methodologies that are most frequently applied in the insurance market.

n M.Sc.,Department of Engineering Sciences Supervisor : Prof.Dr.Gü
lin Birlik May 2008,139 pages Noise is one of the most important health risks in workplaces worldwide and NIOSH identified noise as one of the 10 important occupational problems. In OSHA'
s hearing conservation amendment it is stated that in U.S., more than 5 million workers are exposed to potentially hazardous levels of noise in manufacturing and utilities. In 1981 OSHA estimated that, at least one million workers in industry had undergone occupational hearing loss. Ship building has been one of the most promising and rapidly growing industries in Turkey in the recent years. It comprises many production techniques and activities, requires qualified personnel and compliance with several class institutions making the job interesting for the enthusiastic engineers and workers. However shipyard workers are subject to high levels of noise besides other health risks. The aim of this study is to figure out the effect of noise on shipyard workers. For this purpose 2 factories, namely Factory 1 and Factory 2 in a shipyard were chosen and two methods were adopted. The first method was the subjective evaluation of the workers through questionnaires distributed to them, whereas the second method involved the noise level measurement during their work hours. At all the points in Factory 1 where noise level measurements have been done, higher A-weighted values of noise than the limits stated in the legal regulations were found. In Factory 2, noise levels were all below the action value of 85 dBA .Dose measurements of the workers displayed the extremely variable acoustical conditions that the workers encountered. According to the &ldquo
Noise Regulation&rdquo
of Ministry of Labour and Social Security and &ldquo
The European Noise Directive&rdquo
, the employer seems to be obliged to measure periodically and to assess the level of noise exposure of workers in Factory 1 and take immediately the necessary precautions. Ear plug performance and speech interference conditions were also examined.

Pełny tekst źródłaZhivan, Natalia A. "The Employment of Older Workers". Thesis, Boston College, 2009. http://hdl.handle.net/2345/618.
Pełny tekst źródłaThis thesis focuses on the employment of older workers and addresses the following questions: how people make their retirement decision, how changes in the Social Security benefit rules can encourage older workers to stay in the labor force longer, and what impediments older workers face on the labor market that can prevent them from working longer and interrupt their retirement plans. As the U.S. population ages, retirement and Social Security claiming decisions of older workers will have a significant impact on the U.S. economy. By the year of 2030 about 20 percent of the population will be 65 years old or older. The national retirement system generates less income in retirement than it did in the past. Rising Full Retirement Age, the shift of the private pension system from predominantly defined benefit to predominantly defined contribution pension plans, and increasing longevity will have to force older workers to stay in the labor force in the future to provide adequate income in retirement. Chapter one presents a dynamic stochastic retirement model that incorporates observed heterogeneity in educational attainment level. The assumption is that educational attainment level is highly correlated with the characteristics, such as preferences for work, types of jobs, and financial planning horizon that determine timing of retirement. A parsimonious model that incorporates heterogeneity in educational attainment level and stochastic earnings and health predicts the labor force participation rates and Social Security rates by age accurately. This model provides intuition for why college graduates tend to claim Social Security benefits and exit labor force later in life - longer life expectancy, non-physically demanding jobs, longer financial planning horizon, and deriving positive utility from work encourage college graduates to retire later. Chapter two develops and tests a policy rule regarding the availability of reduced early Social Security retirement benefits that would encourage older workers to stay in the labor force longer without amplifying the hardship on the more vulnerable population. The availability of Social Security retirement benefits at the current Earliest Eligibility Age (EEA) is considered the main impediment to longer working lives. Raising the EEA is thus considered the most powerful channel to raise the labor force participation rate. But raising the EEA would create hardship among workers with low private savings who are unable to work or find employment until the higher eligibility age. This study proposes and analyzes a new approach to setting each worker's EEA based on an individual's average lifetime earnings--an Elastic EEA. Low average lifetime earnings will likely reflect either poor health or spotty work histories, both of which are associated with weak employment prospects and limited financial resources at age 62. Tying the EEA to the average lifetime earnings could thus protect many of these vulnerable workers while encouraging longer working lives and increasing Social Security monthly benefits for workers more capable of remaining in the labor force. Simulations suggest that an Elastic EEA would achieve its goal in providing higher employment rates and levels of consumption in retirement compared to the status quo. These simulations also demonstrate the limitations of structural retirement models used to estimate the effect of raising the EEA. By assuming the same probabilities of losing and finding a job for all individuals, these models underestimate the adverse effect of raising the EEA on the more vulnerable population. Although some older workers may like to stay longer in the labor force, they may have hard time holding on to their jobs due to displacement. Chapter three is devoted to the trends in displacement of older workers. Conventional wisdom says older workers are less likely to be displaced. However, the difference in displacement rates between younger and older workers disappeared in the 2006 Displaced Worker Survey (DWS). The increased vulnerability of older workers appears to be the reason for this convergence. To better understand the age-displacement relationship, this study takes advantage of the availability of job tenure information and consistent design of the DWS since 1996. Using a Blinder--Oaxaca decomposition, it analyzes the effect of changes in tenure, industry mix, and educational attainment on the displacement rates of younger and older workers. The results show that older workers are now more likely to be displaced than prime-age workers, conditional on education, manufacturing industry, and tenure

Kramarek, Michal. "Prison ministry workers in Indiana". Thesis, Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis, 2016. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=10009745.
Pełny tekst źródłaThis work describes prison chaplains and chapel volunteers from three perspectives: (1) a historical perspective which is used to investigate the role of religion in prisons, (2) the chaplains’ perspective on the partnership between chaplains and chapel volunteers, and (3) the volunteers’ perspective on the predictors of volunteering in prison ministry.
First, the study provides a historical perspective on the role of prison ministry workers in prisons by examining: (a) the role of religion in the philanthropic life of John Howard, an eighteenth century prison reformer, (b) the role of religion in satisfying socio-economic pre-conditions that led to prison reform during the period of the Industrial Revolution, and (c) the role of religion during the development and evolution of the penal systems in the USA.
Second, the study explores the partnership between paid chaplains working for over three months at ten state, medium to high-level security, men’s prisons in Indiana, and chapel volunteers providing in-person ministry work. The study is primarily based on in-person, in-depth interviews with 25 chaplains. Using modified analytic induction, the research leads to identification of four roles adopted by chaplains: Pastoral Counselor, Religious Coordinator, Administrative Minister, and Advocate for Prisoners. The study describes the partnership in general and explains how chaplains in each of these different roles perceive conflict and collaboration with volunteers.
Third, the study constructs a sampling frame consisting of an estimated 916 to 1,132 chapel volunteers working in the ten prisons. The study is based on responses to a survey based on a convenience sample of 106 of these volunteers. The study uses OLS regression to test 32 hypotheses. Among other things, the study finds that statistically significant predictors of higher amount and higher frequency of volunteering to prison ministry include: being retired, shorter length of commute to prison, tenure as prison ministry volunteer, lower motivation to develop and strengthen social ties, and higher frequency of attending religious services.
The work concludes with a summary and discussion of the findings, implications for theory and practitioners (including policymakers, prison administrators, chaplains, and volunteers), as well as limitations and suggestions for future research.

Pełny tekst źródłaDecreasing birth rates and increasing life expectancy have led to the ageing of the German population during the past decades. To sustain the German retirement system, retirement age is increased to 67 years. The European Union calls for individuals’ lifelong learning to maintain work ability and cope with challenges of technological and organisational change. This dissertation consists of a literature overview and three empirical essays investigating older workers’ motivation to participate in continuing education (MPCE) and its demographic relevance, highlighting age-specific work context influences and providing evidence for older workers’ heterogeneity. The literature overview delineates older workers’ demographic relevance as well as their transition to retirement, work motivation, development opportunities, and education. Second, the analysis of cross-sectional data establishes the relevance of older workers’ MPCE for the policy of prolonging working life by showing the positive relationship with work ability and the desire to work past retirement age. Older workers’ MPCE is high across all respondent groups, implying that inequalities in participation are less a result of varying motivation among subgroups, but of other barriers. Following this, work context-related motivational differences between older and younger workers are identified and analysed. Results show weak but significant influences of some work context factors. The analysis of longitudinal data shows ageing workers’ increasing heterogeneity of life satisfaction and satisfaction with work, family life, and health, corroborating life-span theories. In sum, MPCE is high among older workers. It is influenced by work context, and positively related to work ability and the desire to work past retirement age. Common mean-level analyses of older workers yield only limited informative value.
