Streszczenie:
Abstract In the arid and semi-arid regions, being the most water-deprived regions of the world, water scarcity is the most pressing challenge. The dry climate and the effects of the global warming are leading to increased pressure on the meager water resources causing a rapid quality degradation of chronically depleted water resources, while the use and disposal of numerous biological and chemical pollutants endangers the water bodies to a degree that part of the resources are not safe to use for human consumption, posing a health risk to the population. The degradation of water resources is magnified by the fast-growing population and the increase in domestic and irrigation water demand, which is impossible to meet from available natural resources. Such adverse development is already apparent in the Near East region (Israel, Palestine, and Jordan) where the shared water resources are already in a deteriorated state unable to satisfy the basic needs. To satisfy current and future needs, a new water resources management strategy is suggested, aiming at the sustainable use of available water resources, supplemented by the development of water reuse and desalination of brackish groundwater and seawater, cautiously considering the associated health and environmental safety, as discussed herewith.

Streszczenie:
Drinking water is a strategically important natural resource. At the same time, its resource is unevenly distributed over the territory of Russia. One way to redistribute drinking water resources is to bottle and then deliver it to scarce regions. The study’s objectives are to identify gaps in the system of drinking water resource management in Russia. Particular attention is paid to the management of the quality of bottled water. The study showed that despite the strategic importance of drinking water for citizens' health, its quality is not managed at the systemic level. Bottled water is food, and, accordingly, its quality should be standardized for food safety. However, quality regulation is carried out non-systemically and fragmentarily. The identified problems also include the problem of identifying waters and the fight against counterfeit products. The methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative method, statistical data were used.

Streszczenie:
Free water protocols have become common in the management of patients with dysphagia. Their popularity has blossomed in the near-complete absence of any empirical data regarding their safety, efficacy and effectiveness. Proponents point to anecdotal reports and opinion pieces, while recent peer-reviewed investigation shows a mixed bag of safety and efficacy outcomes. This paper presents the argument against administration of “free water” without consideration of numerous factors besides the presence of dysphagia, and strongly urges the developers of the method to submit their data to peer review.

AbstractIn the aspect of water management, the Water Directive regulates water management with the principle of sustainable development, in shaping, protecting, using and managing water resources. Analysis and assessment of the CWSS safety is a complex issue, including the analysis of potential threats, their effects and safety systems (barriers). The analysis is performed in terms of the water consumers health safety, threats of lack or deficit in water supply and threats to the environment. This process should include the analysis of the existing condition, possible potential threats and safety and repair procedures.

This research develops a detection system which is aimed at how to find and deal with the water cycle problem of utility boiler. We utilize the distributed data acquisition detection technique which uses configuration software in Windows XP system as the development platform. It is fully used the compatibility and convenience of the configuration software. This system can finish the calculation of many parameters, such as mass velocity, pressure differential, temperature, pressure of working medium in the water wall and temperature of the water wall. These data will be compared with the data of relevant model in order to have a safety evaluation of water cycle in utility boiler and finally make sure of the safety operation. It shows that the water cycle on-line detection system have the theoretical property and practicability which is tested by the analog simulation.

Streszczenie:
The aim of this study was to investigate accumulated experience with water safety plans in one of the first countries to adopt systematic preventive management for drinking-water safety. Water utilities in Iceland have had a legal obligation since 1995 to implement a systematic preventive approach to secure safety of drinking water and protect public health. The water utilities responded by implementing either an adapted HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) model for larger water utilities or a simpler five step model for smaller water utilities. The research was carried out at 16 water utilities that serve about two-thirds of the population of Iceland. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used with the aim of analysing if and what benefits water safety plans bring for water utilities and what is needed for successful implementation and operation of such systems. The results of the study show that numerous benefits and even the process of going through the implementing process were considered to be of advantage and change the attitude of the staff and the utility culture. Some obstacles and shortcomings came to light, such as lack of documentation and lack of regular internal and external audit. There was little communication with the public, although some mentioned that good public relations are important to succeed with water safety plans. Many important elements of success were revealed of which intensive training of staff and participation of staff in the whole process are deemed the most important. It is also important to have simple and well-structured guidelines, and good cooperation with the health authorities.
