Streszczenie:
The paper explained the use of critical visual analysis for understanding and contextualizing the images as well as applied the theories of visual consumption and social semiotics to analyze certain visual materials. Furthermore, this study examined the visual representations of refugees and immigrants who faced atrocities at the time of the partition of the Subcontinent along with the Mongol leader who was responsible for the largest empire in history. The research aimed at answering the question related to the significance of visual communication and critical visual analysis for comprehending those visuals. The paper used qualitative methods of research to answer the research question. Critical visual analysis helps not only in describing the physical features of the images but also in interpreting the notion and meaning behind the visuals. In todays technologically advanced world, visuals have gained prominence in the aspects of advertisement and meaning explanation. Therefore, critical visual analysis is paramount in this era.

In recent years, computer vision has received rapid attention and development, and it also represents the most cutting-edge research direction of deep learning. With the rapid development of today’s world economy, the arrival of the information age marked by the network has broken the boundaries of time and space in the sense of physics, and the social form in which the entire human being lives is more and more approaching a small “global village.” The design and application of visual symbols need to achieve innovative combination and deconstruction of image symbols, indicator symbols, and symbolic symbols. When applying visual symbols to the design of urban tourism image, designers need to be clear about its role. The design and application of visual symbols of urban tourism image are of great significance, whether it is to condense and spread urban culture or beautify the environment. City brand image building can effectively protect the natural landscape and reduce the damage to the environment, and some city brand images can also become city landmarks. Therefore, designers should give full play to the advantages of local traditional culture, refine rich design materials, and skillfully integrate them into the design of visual symbols to further display the local humanistic characteristics, especially maximize the advantages and value of visual symbols, so as to make tourism. The city shows unique charm and unique humanistic spirit.

The current research paper aims to see a film Smoke Signals by American Indian writer Sherman Alexie and director Chris Eyre as an attempt to define visual sovereignty. By applying Critical Visual Theory, the paper seeks to provide not just a close visual reading but also a broad study of American Indian indigenous film’s meanings with the understanding that the film functions as a politicized way of giving voice to the marginalized indigenous community. The film nullifies Hollywood representation of Natives by its celebration of Native storytelling. My contention is that the film is not a passive response to mainstream representation and geographical inaccuracies but rather a creation of indigenous reality in a media saturated world. The film shifts indigenous experience from a victimized stance to a strategic one. It has its visual effects which cannot be extricated from the social context in which it is produced. The analysis intends to delimit the bus scene that includes 10 frames ranging from 21:31- 40:31(time line). Keywords: vision, visuality, visual culture, visual sovereignty, critical visual theory.

<p>The aim of this paper is to look into ways in which modes are chosen if signs are produced for interpretation and presentation of theories and meanings. Magazine is a complex collection of signs that can be extensively decoded and analyzed by different factors. The most spectacular components are documentary photos, manipulated images and portrait photos. According to the results, many processes (action, symbolic, reaction, and analytical processes), and strategies (e.g. top vs. bottom strategies and margin vs. center), modality modification and color differentiation, are required in representing and interpreting concepts and meanings in this type of discourse. The discourse analysis used here is accomplished based on Halliday’s model of functional-systematic grammar (1976, 2004), which uses three meta functions to describe different communicational modes.</p>

The evoked magnetic field (magnetoencephalogram: MEG) was measured in human subjects observing random-dot motion. 600 random dots generated with VSG2/3 (Cambridge Research Systems) moved at about 10 deg s−1 (either in the 45° or the 135° direction). The motion frame (5 s) was followed by a stationary frame on a screen (projected from Barcodata 3100 projection system) subtending a visual angle of about 20 deg × 20 deg. Six subjects observed the motion frame presented in the left visual field. The magnetic evoked field (80 averagings) was measured from 37 points over occipital, temporal, and parietal areas (Magnes SQUID biomagnetometer, BTi) of the right brain hemisphere. Dipole estimates based on equal magnetic field contours (190 ms after motion frame onset with value of goodness of fit greater than 0.95) and MRI image fitting (sagittal, coronal, and axial view) for each subject suggest that the main loci subserving motion perception lie in the surrounding region over occipital, temporal, and parietal junction areas in the human brain close to area MT.

Ships' bridge watchkeeping, although the prime task of the officer of the watch, makes very low task demands in terms of information processing and required speed of response compared to most other vigilance tasks. Consequently, performance of the visual lookout task is difficult to describe and evaluate systematically. Results from an on-board observational study show that lookout lapse periods can be economically described by simple mathematical models, which assist in comparison and evaluation of task performance.
