Transmigration is pre-eruptive migration of tooth across the midline. The etiology of this rare anomaly is unknown. Transmigration is largely related to mandibular canines. Although maxillary canine transmigrations are found in the literature, they are still a rare entity. Objective: The aim of the present paper is to report two cases of unusual transmigrations of canines in two immediate members of a family and to report the first case of simultaneous transmigration of maxillary and mandibular canines in an Indian adolescent. Case report: A rare case of simultaneous transmigration of maxillary and mandibular canine in Indian adolescent along with bilateral transmigration of mandibular canines in her father is described here. Conclusion: Transmigration of canines in two immediate members of family needs to be further studied for familial occurrence of transmigration.

Streszczenie:
Leukocyte infiltration into inflammatory sites is regulated by the expression of adhesion and activation proteins, yet the role of these proteins in shear-dependent transmigration is poorly understood. We examined eosinophil recruitment on cytokine-stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) under laminar flow conditions. Eosinophils rapidly transmigrated on interleukin (IL)-4–, but not TNF-stimulated HUVECs. Transmigration was shear dependent, with up to 90% of eosinophils transmigrating in the presence of shear and less than 25% of cells transmigrating under static conditions. Eosinophils express CC chemokine receptor CCR3 and are responsive to various CC chemokines. The effects of chemokines are mediated primarily through Gαi, which is pertussis toxin sensitive. Greater than 65% of shear-dependent eosinophil transmigration on IL-4–stimulated HUVECs was blocked by either pertussis toxin or by an anti-CCR3 monoclonal antibody. Using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blots, we found that IL-4–stimulated HUVECs produce both mRNA and protein for eotaxin-3. Eotaxin-3 was both released by HUVECs and expressed on the endothelial cell surface. Pretreatment of HUVECs with an anti–eotaxin-3 antibody blocked eosinophil transmigration to the same extent as an anti-CCR3 antibody. These results indicate that IL-4–stimulated HUVECs support shear-dependent eosinophil transmigration by upregulating eotaxin-3, and that surface association is critical for the role of eotaxin-3 in transmigration.

This study aims to analyze the current state of ex-transmigration villages and regional policy makers' perceptions regarding transmigration's existence and sustainability. The study was conducted in Jambi Province. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Primary data collection was carried out through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with policymakers at the provincial and district levels. According to the study’s results, the implementation of the transmigration program in addition to showing various successes also resulted in a number of negative excesses for the destination areas. These negative excesses are mainly related to the disparity between the transmigration area and its surrounding area, the low leverage of the transmigration area on the surrounding area, and the potential emergence of poverty in the transmigration area. Related to this, future revitalization of the transmigration program must focus on the development of transmigration areas that are functionally related to the surrounding area, based on the expertise required by the local area, and increasing the role of the community and private sector in the diversification transmigrant business patterns.

Abstract Vascular endothelium plays an important role in regulating the transendothelial migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs). In this study, the intracellular calcium ion ([Ca2+]i) signaling of endothelial cells (ECs) during PMN transmigration was examined at the single-cell level. Human umbilical vein ECs were cultured on a thin layer of collagen gel. The ECs were labeled with fura-2, immersed in formyl-Met-Leu-Phe, and subsequently perfused with fresh buffer to establish a gradient of chemoattractant across the EC monolayer. The entire process of PMN rolling on, adhering to, and transmigrating across the EC monolayer was recorded under both phase-contrast and fluorescence optics. The data showed the following: (1) At high concentration (approximately 3 × 106/mL), both PMN suspension and its supernatant stimulated frequent EC [Ca2+]i elevations across the monolayer; (2) when used at lower concentration (approximately 5 × 105/mL) to avoid the interference of soluble factors, PMN transmigration, but not rolling or adhesion, was accompanied by EC [Ca2+]i elevation; (3) the latter EC [Ca2+]i elevation occurred simultaneously in ECs adjacent to the transmigration site, but not in those that were not in direct contact with the transmigrating PMNs; (4) this EC [Ca2+]i elevation was an initial and required event for PMN transmigration; and (5) PMNs pretreated with 5,5′-dimethyl-1,2-bis(2-aminophenoxy)ethane-N, N, N′, N′-tetraacetic acid transmigrated with the accompanying EC [Ca2+]i elevation, but they became elongated in the collagen gel. In conclusion, PMNs induce adjacent EC [Ca2+]i signaling, which apparently mediates the “gating” step for their subsequent transmigration.

The leukocyte integrin lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1) and its endothelial ligand intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM)-1 play an important role in transmigration as demonstrated by in vivo and in vitro models of inflammation. Despite the prominent role, little is known concerning the distribution and dynamic behavior of these adhesion molecules during leukocyte transmigration. Therefore, we examined the spatial and temporal distribution of LFA-1 on neutrophils actively transmigrating tumor necrosis factor-α–activated human umbilical vein endothelial monolayers under shear flow. Upon neutrophil arrest, LFA-1 was evenly distributed. However, once neutrophils initiated transmigration, LFA-1 rapidly redistributed to form a ringlike cluster at the neutrophil–endothelial junctional interface through which transmigration occurred. As transmigration was completed, LFA-1 redistributed to the neutrophil uropod. Endothelial ICAM-1 and JAM-A both colocalized with the ringlike LFA-1 cluster. Further analysis of PMA-stimulated neutrophils, which increase mobility of LFA-1, showed a rapid redistribution of LFA-1 and ICAM-1, but not endothelial JAM-A. Thus, endothelial JAM-A does not appear to contribute to adhesion or transmigration in this system. This is the first demonstration that neutrophil LFA-1 rapidly redistributes to form a ringlike structure that coclusters with endothelial ICAM-1 as the neutrophil transmigrates.

Most existing evidence regarding junction protein movements during transendothelial migration of leukocytes comes from taking postfixation snap shots of the transendothelial migration process that happens on a cultured endothelial monolayer. In this study, we used junction protein–specific antibodies that did not interfere with the transendothelial migration to examine the real-time movements of vascular endothelial–cadherin (VE-cadherin) and platelet/endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) during transmigration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) either through a cultured endothelial monolayer or through the endothelium of dissected human umbilical vein tissue. In either experimental model system, both junction proteins showed relative movements, not transient disappearance, at the PMN transmigration sites. VE-cadherin moved away to different ends of the transmigration site, whereas PECAM-1 opened to surround the periphery of a transmigrating PMN. Junction proteins usually moved back to their original positions when the PMN transmigration process was completed in less than 2 minutes. The relative positions of some junction proteins might rearrange to form a new interendothelial contour after PMNs had transmigrated through multicellular corners. Although transmigrated PMNs maintained good mobility, they only moved laterally underneath the vascular endothelium instead of deeply into the vascular tissue. In conclusion, our results obtained from using either cultured cells or vascular tissues showed that VE-cadherin–containing adherent junctions were relocated aside, not opened or disrupted, whereas PECAM-1–containing junctions were opened during PMN transendothelial migration.

Streszczenie:
Neutrophil-mediated injury to gut epithelium may lead to disruption of the epithelial barrier function with consequent organ dysfunction, but the mechanisms of this are incompletely characterized. Because the epithelial apical junctional complex, comprised of tight and adherens junctions, is responsible in part for this barrier function, we investigated the effects of neutrophil transmigration on these structures. Using a colonic epithelial cell line, we observed that neutrophils migrating across cell monolayers formed clusters that were associated with focal epithelial cell loss and the creation of circular defects within the monolayer. The loss of epithelial cells was partly attributable to neutrophil-derived proteases, likely elastase, because it was prevented by elastase inhibitors. Spatially delimited disruption of epithelial junctional complexes with focal loss of E-cadherin, β-catenin, and zonula occludens 1 was observed adjacent to clusters of transmigrating neutrophils. During neutrophil transmigration, fragments of E-cadherin were released into the apical supernatant, and inhibitors of neutrophil elastase prevented this proteolytic degradation. Addition of purified leukocyte elastase also resulted in release of E-cadherin fragments, but only after opening of tight junctions. Taken together, these data demonstrate that neutrophil-derived proteases can mediate spatially delimited disruption of epithelial apical junctions during transmigration. These processes may contribute to epithelial loss and disruption of epithelial barrier function in inflammatory diseases.

Transmigration is one of the ways taken by the government to overcome population imbalances and equality caused by geographical, social, economic and political factors. Transmigration development is an integral part of national and regional development as an effort to accelerate development, especially in areas that are still isolated or underdeveloped, which can also improve the welfare of transmigrants and the surrounding community. The transmigration program for the Kuantan Singingi area began in 1980 with a focus on placement in the Sentajo Raya, Logas Tanah Darat, Singingi Hilir, and Singingi sub-districts, besides that seen from the data from 2000 to 2018 Singingi Hilir Sub-district experienced rapid development in terms of plantations, economy and infrastructure facilities when compared to the three sub-districts above. The research objectives are 1).To find out the background and process of transmigration in Suka Damai Village, Singingi Hilir District, Kuantan Singigi Regency. 2).To find out the socio-economic development of the transmigration community in Suka Damai Village, Singingi Hilir District, Kuantan Singingi Regency 1983-2020. 3). To find out the role of the government in encouraging the socio-economic development of the transmigration community in Suka Damai Village, Singingi Hilir District, Kuantan Singingi Regency 1983-2020. This research uses historical research methods. In its development, the socio-economy of the transmigration community has experienced better development. The socio-economic development of the transmigration community will not succeed without the role of the government. The purpose of this paper is to present the first case of unusual reverse oblique (110 degrees to midsagittal plane) migration of mandibular right canine crossing the jaw midline and piercing the lower border of the mandible at the level of the opposite canine and also to report two more cases of transmigrated mandibular canine and one case of transmigrating mandibular canine. Mandibular canines are “cornerstone” of dental arch; their importance is manifested by their efficiency in masticatory function, stability of dental arch, and aid in maintaining natural facial expression. Early detection of this anomaly can help preserving these canines by orthodontic intervention or by surgical transplantation. This developmental anomaly is properly diagnosed by radiographic evaluation, which is primarily based on the panoramic radiograph. In patients with overretained deciduous canines or missing permanent canines, an intraoral radiograph should be supplemented with panoramic radiograph. This paper discusses the importance of early diagnosis of canine transmigration in treatment planning and reviews the various possible treatment options.

Agrarian reform is a process of rearranging the structure of tenure, ownership, use and utilization of land in a more just manner. Presidential Decree No. 86 of 2018 states that one of the objects of legalization of the assets of the agrarian reform program is uncertified transmigration lands. The complicated problem in legalizing transmigration land is because there are still many remnants of past problems that have not been resolved. This research was conducted to provide an analysis and description of the urgency in implementing the legalization of transmigration land assets in the North Sumatra region in the context of strengthening the agrarian reform program. The type of research used is qualitative research which seeks to find the urgency of implementing legality of transmigration land assets in relation to the agrarian reform program. Based on the letter submitted to the Head of the Workforce and Transmigration Office of North Sumatra Province in 2019, regarding the Data on the Asset Management Program for the Agrarian Reform Task Force (GTRA) activities, there are 5,605 transmigration land areas that have not been certified in North Sumatra Province, spread across 6 regencies. As an object of agrarian reform, the criteria for transmigration land are stated in Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2018, stating that transmigration land that has not been certified must meet the following criteria: not included in a forest area; or have been granted management rights for transmigration. The conclusion of the regulations governing the legalization of transmigration land assets is an important part of the land certification process which is carried out through land registration.

AbstractA vast amount of work has been dedicated to the effects of shear flow and cytokines on leukocyte transmigration. However, no studies have explored the effects of substrate stiffness on transmigration. Here, we investigated important aspects of endothelial cell contraction-mediated neutrophil transmigration using an in vitro model of the vascular endothelium. We modeled blood vessels of varying mechanical properties using fibronectin-coated polyacrylamide gels of varying physiologic stiffness, plated with human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) monolayers, which were activated with tumor necrosis factor-α. Interestingly, neutrophil transmigration increased with increasing substrate stiffness below the endothelium. HUVEC intercellular adhesion molecule-1 expression, stiffness, cytoskeletal arrangement, morphology, and cell-substrate adhesion could not account for the dependence of transmigration on HUVEC substrate stiffness. We also explored the role of cell contraction and observed that large holes formed in endothelium on stiff substrates several minutes after neutrophil transmigration reached a maximum. Further, suppression of contraction through inhibition of myosin light chain kinase normalized the effects of substrate stiffness by reducing transmigration and eliminating hole formation in HUVECs on stiff substrates. These results provide strong evidence that neutrophil transmigration is regulated by myosin light chain kinase-mediated endothelial cell contraction and that this event depends on subendothelial cell matrix stiffness.

Abstract Abstract 1492 Neutrophil transmigration requires the localization of neutrophils to endothelial cell junctions where receptor-ligand interactions between these cells promotes leukocyte diapedesis. Neutrophils contain several different proteases which are thought to play a role in aiding in transendothelial cell migration, either by degrading extracellular matrix components or junctional proteins, or by inducing endothelial cell activation. Proteinase 3 (PR3) is a serine protease stored in azurophil granules that is released by activated neutrophils and can rebind to the neutrophil expressed cell surface protein NB1 (CD177). The neutrophil marker NB1 is expressed on a subset of neutrophils (∼50%) and has recently been demonstrated to be a heterophilic binding partner for PECAM-1, a protein highly expressed at endothelial cell junctions. Disrupting NB1-PECAM interactions has been reported to significantly inhibit neutrophil transmigration. Because of the critical role of NB1 in neutrophil transmigration we believe that the interactions between NB1 and PECAM-1 have the potential to localize PR3 to endothelial cell junctions where it may aid in leukocyte transmigration. For this study we sought to test the hypothesis that NB1-PR3 interactions contribute to neutrophil transmigration. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) were cultured on transwell membranes, treated with IL-1β, TNFα or fMLP and then incubated with NB1+ or NB1- PMN. Using flow cytometry we observed that transmigration alone resulted in a significant increase in PR3 expression on NB1+ but not NB1- neutrophils. Using a pan-serine protease inhibitor (AEBSF) total neutrophil transmigration was significantly inhibited. However, using a highly specific PR3 inhibitor (Elafin) we observed a selective inhibition in NB1+ but not NB1- neutrophil transmigration on IL-1β stimulated HUVEC. Similarly, antibodies against the NB1 recognition site on PECAM (Ig domain 6) inhibited neutrophil transmigration of NB1+ but not NB1- cells. Interestingly, in the presence of different stimuli (TNFα, fMLP), neutrophil transmigration was significantly less dependent on NB1-PECAM interactions and inhibition of PR3 activity did not inhibit transmigration. This is despite the fact that PR3 expression was highly up-regulated on NB1+ neutrophils incubated with either of these stimuli or following neutrophil transmigration. In conclusion, the serine protease PR3 appears to play a significant role in the transmigration of NB1+ but not NB1- neutrophils. Likewise, the contribution of NB1 and PR3 in neutrophil transmigration is regulated in a stimulus-dependent mechanism which involves NB1 interactions with PECAM. These data therefore suggest that NB1 and PR3 may regulate recruitment of a neutrophil subset in response to specific inflammatory signals and this regulation may play a role in modulating the immune response. Leukocyte transmigration across vessel walls is a critical step in the innate immune response. Upon their activation and firm adhesion to vascular endothelial cells (VECs), leukocytes preferentially extravasate across junctional gaps in the endothelial monolayer (paracellular diapedesis). It has been hypothesized that VECs facilitate paracellular diapedesis by opening their cell–cell junctions in response to the presence of an adhering leukocyte. However, it is unclear how leukocytes interact mechanically with VECs to open the VEC junctions and migrate across the endothelium. In this study, we measured the spatial and temporal evolution of the 3D traction stresses generated by the leukocytes and VECs to elucidate the sequence of mechanical events involved in paracellular diapedesis. Our measurements suggest that the contractile stresses exerted by the leukocytes and the VECs can separately perturb the junctional tensions of VECs to result in the opening of gaps before the initiation of leukocyte transmigration. Decoupling the stresses exerted by the transmigrating leukocytes and the VECs reveals that the leukocytes actively contract the VECs to open a junctional gap and then push themselves across the gap by generating strong stresses that push into the matrix. In addition, we found that diapedesis is facilitated when the tension fluctuations in the VEC monolayer were increased by proinflammatory thrombin treatment. Our findings demonstrate that diapedesis can be mechanically regulated by the transmigrating leukocytes and by proinflammatory signals that increase VEC contractility.

The unequal distribution of the population in Indonesia is caused by the concentration of the population of Java, which led the government to create a population movement program called transmigration. The types of transmigration carried out by the Indonesian government are general transmigration and self-employment transmigration. West Borneo, which is the destination for transmigration, is Rasau Jaya District, Kubu Raya Regency. Of the six villages in the Rasau Jaya sub-district, there are only four villages that are the placement areas for transmigrants, namely Rasau Jaya Satu Village, Rasau Jaya Dua Village, Rasau Jaya Tiga Village and Bintang Mas Village. Rasau Jaya Tiga Village in 1975-1977 became the most transmigration destination area because it had the largest land area among other villages. The method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach and the object under study is the transmigrant who came from West Java.

AbstractICAM-2 has been implicated in leukocyte transmigration in vitro, but there is little in vivo evidence to support this. To address this, neutrophil migration was investigated in ICAM-2–deficient mice (KO) and in wild-type (WT) mice treated with an anti–ICAM-2 blocking monoclonal antibody (mAb) (3C4). In a peritonitis model, IL-1β–induced accumulation of neutrophils was significantly reduced in mice treated with 3C4 (51% inhibition) and in KO mice (41% inhibition). In contrast, TNF-α– or thioglycolate-induced responses were not suppressed in KO mice. Analysis of IL-1β–induced leukocyte responses in cremasteric venules of KO animals by intravital microscopy indicated a defect in transmigration (44% inhibition) but not rolling or adhesion. As found before, TNF-α–induced leukocyte transmigration was unaltered in the KO mice. WT mice treated with the anti–ICAM-2 mAb also exhibited a selective reduction in leukocyte transmigration in response to IL-1β while an anti–ICAM-1 mAb inhibited both leukocyte adhesion and transmigration. Interestingly, mAb 3C4 significantly suppressed IL-1β–induced neutrophil transmigration in PE-CAM-1 KO animals in the peritonitis model but not in the cremaster muscle. The findings provide direct evidence for the involvement of ICAM-2 in neutrophil transmigration in vivo, though this role appears to be stimulus specific. Furthermore, ICAM-2 appears capable of mediating PECAM-1–independent leukocyte transmigration.

Abstract Leukocyte transmigration is mediated by endothelial cell (EC) junctional molecules, but the associated mechanisms remain unclear. Here we investigate how intercellular adhesion molecule-2 (ICAM-2), junctional adhesion molecule-A (JAM-A), and platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1) mediate neutrophil transmigration in a stimulus-dependent manner (eg, as induced by interleukin-1β [IL-1β] but not tumor necrosis factor-α [TNF-α]), and demonstrate their ability to act in sequence. Using a cell-transfer technique, transmigration responses of wild-type and TNF-α p55/p75 receptor-deficient leukocytes (TNFR−/−) through mouse cremasteric venules were quantified by fluorescence intravital microscopy. Whereas wild-type leukocytes showed a normal transmigration response to TNF-α in ICAM-2−/−, JAM-A−/−, and PECAM-1−/− recipient mice, TNFR−/− leukocytes exhibited a reduced transmigration response. Hence, when the ability of TNF-α to directly stimulate neutrophils is blocked, TNF-α–induced neutrophil transmigration is rendered dependent on ICAM-2, JAM-A, and PECAM-1, suggesting that the stimulus-dependent role of these molecules is governed by the target cell being activated. Furthermore, analysis of the site of arrest of neutrophils in inflamed tissues from ICAM-2−/−, JAM-A−/−, and PECAM-1−/− mice demonstrated that these molecules act sequentially to mediate transmigration. Collectively, the findings provide novel insights into the mechanisms of action of key molecules implicated in leukocyte transmigration.

Transmigration in Papua is perceived as an important approach to improve welfare, to achieve equity in regional development, and to bond the nation. However, this policy has also been a subject of criticism. Thus, the implementation of transmigration policy in Papua needs to be adjusted along with the enforcement of Special Autonomy Law in this province. The transmigration program is expected to be pro-indigenous (affirmative action). This article discusses the role of transmigration in the development of Papua with some related issues which potentially threaten the existence of the local community. Data and information sources in this study are the result of desk reviews from research reports, articles, books, and supporting documents. The result shows transmigration has a significant role in the development process of Papua. Still, it should consider the fundamental rights of the indigenous to avoid conflict in the community. Besides that, the implementation of transmigration program should follow democratic principles to foster the participation of communities in the development process.

The development project through transmigration in 1984 to several islands in Indonesia, including Papua, was a neoliberal program supported directly by the World Bank. The transmigration project has opened up new consumption spaces, as well as starting the economic marginalization of the local population in Papua. The increase in the Papuan population along with the transmigration program during the New Order era was apparently unable to improve the welfare of indigenous Papuans. Transmigration in Papua succeeded in introducing new cultures or modes of economic production that replaced the old modes of production practiced by Papuans. The transmigration program in Papua has been the beginning of the economic marginalization of indigenous Papuans. The economic inequality generated by the transmigration project results in discrimination against indigenous Papuans in the field of economic endeavors. This is what happens to Papuan mothers who have to be willing to walk on sacks in front of large kiosks for immigrants in Papua. The aim of writing this article is to provide an overview of the economic marginalization created by the neoliberal development project in Papua.

Abstract Since the beginning, the great idea of transmigration program has actually been directed towards exploiting, processing and development of the two major potential resource, namely: (1) the potential of natural resources and (2) the potential of human resources. Since its implementation, the transmigration program has shown success in improving the living standards and welfare of the population and the development of previously untapped areas, although in some locations and regions it also shows the lack of success caused by various problems. At least there are three major domains of transmigration areas and community development in the future, namely: (1). Develop undeveloped regions into new productive and growing areas in accordance with its natural resource potential including New Transmigration Settlements (PTB) and New Integrated Self-establishment City (KTM). (2). Developing the existing transmigration area becoming the new growth centers of the region through the development of Integrated Self-establishment City (KTM). (3). Improving the welfare of smallholders and poor farm workers through the provision and control of production assets (land). Community and transmigration areas development in the future should be based on 5 basic principles, those are : (1). Development of land and human resources. (2). Development of sustainable agriculture system. (3). Development of business activities based on agribusiness range. (4). Development of private participation, cooperatives, State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and individual farmers / transmigrants. (5). Integrated area development. Investment in physical development and institutional innovation in development of transmigration areas should be done gradually by following the stadia of regional development which generally consists of: Stadia I, II, III, IV, V, VI. The aims of this study were to explore the capacity of local governments in developing transmigration areas in the decentralization era after the change in the transmigration paradigm from migration of the poor to the development of transmigration areas. This research uses a constructive qualitative case study approach. Data collection was done by means of in-depth interviews with 35 participants from echelon two and echelon three officials in Kota Tidore Kepulauan, echelon three in the provincial government and echelons three and four in the central ministry. Our research exposes that the capacity of the local government of Kota Tidore Kepulauan in developing the transmigration area has not been maximized due to unhealthy local political dynamics because each change of regional head can affect the transfer and rotation of positions, the lack of funding sources so that the dependence on the budget from the central government is very high. In addition, cross-sectoral coordination did not go well because each agency still had sectoral ego even though transmigration affairs were not only the task of the transmigration technical service but were the affairs of the local government. The presence of an agrarian reform program in the current administration provides new hope for the management of more prosperous agricultural land, not least on transmigration lands. Especially in the determination of the Land of Agrarian Reform Objects (TORA) transmigration land received a share of 0.6 million hectares from 9 million hectares of the government's target. Unfortunately, until now there are still many images of transmigration lands that are far from expectations. This means that there are still many transmigration lands involved in conflicts both vertically and horizontally. This paper aims to analyze conflicts on transmigration lands located in UPT. Arongo, South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Conflict analysis is directed at mapping agrarian subjects involved in a conflict. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to obtain in-depth information related to the agrarian subject. The results showed conflict in the UPT transmigration land. Arongo consists of 3 agrarian subjects namely elements of government, private and community. The government element is represented by the local government, transmigration service and National Land Agency. Community elements consist of local residents, migrants who are not directly affected and transmigrants whose land is directly affected. Community elements were also formed within the United Farmers Konawe Selatan and Konsorsium Pembaruan Agraria (KPA). While PT. Merbau Jaya Indah Raya Group is part of the agrarian subject of the private element.

Abstract rIL-1 beta treatment of cultured human endothelial cells (HEC) promotes polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN) adhesion and transmigration. Using in vitro quantitative monolayer adhesion and videomicroscopic transmigration assays, we have examined the contributions of endothelial-leukocyte adhesion molecule-1 (ELAM-1), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and the leukocyte adhesion complex, CD11/CD18, to these processes. Maximal enhancement of PMN adhesion and transmigration were observed after 4 h of rIL-1 beta treatment, when surface expression of ELAM-1 had peaked and ICAM-1 was modestly increased. Blocking mAb directed to either ELAM-1 or ICAM-1 inhibited greater than 90% of the up-regulated PMN transmigration. Blocking mAb directed to either CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1, a ICAM-1 counter-receptor), CD11b/CD18 (Mo-1), or CD18 (common beta 2-integrin) also blocked greater than 90% of PMN transmigration. At later time points (24 or 48 h), ELAM-1 surface expression was markedly decreased, whereas ICAM-1 expression was increased over the 4-h level; PMN adhesion remained elevated (approximately 50 to 60% of 4 h level), but transmigration returned to levels seen with unactivated HEC. These data indicate that PMN interaction with at least two distinct HEC adhesion molecules is necessary for transendothelial migration and suggests that PMN adhesion and transmigration, although interrelated, are mechanistically distinct processes.

Since 1960, the transmigration program between Java Island and Lampung Province has been massive. Some of the transmigration players are impoverished farmers seeking fresh farmland. The financial conditions of transmigrants motivate women to work in both the domestic and productive sectors. This study aims to determine women's roles and the effect of social pressure on women's roles in the agricultural region of the transmigration area in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province. The study was performed between November 2021 and March 2022. The research employed a qualitative case study approach. Forty respondents serve as both housewives and productive agricultural workers. The results of the study indicate that women in the Pringsewu transmigration area have three roles: housewife (domestic work), productive work (farming), and social work. Women play these equivalent roles as men in agricultural work. Women who do not engage in productive work (farming) are considered unproductive among their family and neighbors who make up stories about them. In agrarian societies in transmigration areas, a low level of education encourages the persistence of inequality. To achieve gender equality, numerous stakeholders must collaborate and maintain their efforts, particularly in agricultural communities in transmigration areas.

The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of transmigrated canines in a Spanish population by evaluating their clinical and radiological characteristics. The descriptive observational study obtained 6840 orthopantomographs from all patients seeking dental care in the years 2017-21 via the Patient Reception Service and Dentistry Service at the Faculty of Dentistry at the Complutense University of Madrid and the Central Hospital of the Red Cross of Madrid (Spain). In total, 52 patients presented transmigrated canines, establishing a prevalence of 0.76%. This sample comprised 28 women and 24 men. Whenever a transmigrated canine was identified, a CBCT scan was obtained and used to evaluate the clinical and radiological variables associated with canine transmigration. The predominant side of the transmigration was the left (57.69%) compared to the right side (42.30%). The position of the canine, in order of frequency, according to the Mupparapu classification, corresponded to type IV (42.30%), type II (36.53%), type I (15.38%), and type V (5.76%), with no type III transmigrations found. Clinical manifestations were only recorded in 17.30% of cases, and 11.53% of the radiological findings showed the presence of tooth cysts that were confirmed by histopathological studies. Other impactions, in addition to the transmigrated canine, were found in five patients (9.61%), with the majority being the presence of third molars.
