Pełny tekst źródłaTexture is naturally a multi-scale notion which is linked to a human observant. In its classical form, wavelet transform (WT) is a multi-scale representation. It permits a hierarchical texture observation, in a global and a local manner, similar at the human vision and which characterise spatial interactions into-scale. We focus also on a second interpretation of WT as a frequency analysis tool. Space-frequency transformations associate a local frequential spectrum to each point of the image. Thus, spectrogram, Gabor transform, Wigner-Ville transform and the quadratic form of WT can be defined for images in a class of energetic representations. Relationships between these transformations can be expressed by means of the Wigner-Ville transform, which plays a central theoretical role. A Mellin-Fourier transform based technique is proposed. The obtained spectral representation is well adapted to texture analysis. It allows extracting a large number of frequential parameters from local spectra. Moreover, parameters characterising orientation and anisotropy are proposed and illustrated with natural textures. WT is also well suited to estimate -the fractal dimension. This last parameter permits to characterise the roughness texture. The textural approach is a non invasive method which is particularly interesting to quantify structural variations due to vertebra aging. We have used local analysis methods and some global ones on radiological images of vertebra (obtained in high resolution tomography and in sagital micro-radiography), which contains different directional informations

In the first part, we study the Aluthge transformation which play an crucial role on operator theory in the recent years. We will establish some useful results and properties of the λ-Aluthge transform. These results are required to prove our main theorems in the next chapters. In the second part, we study the bijective and additive maps which commute with the λ-Aluthge transform. We also give a description of ω-additive commuting maps with this transformation. In the last part, we consider the problem of commuting maps with the λ-Aluthge transform, under the usual product and Jordan product, we show that these maps are a simple form. Finally, we give several expressions of the spectral radius via the λ-Aluthge transform and its iterates

According to a study made by the RNRT, COFDM system enables a data rate of up to 6 Mbits/s in 5 MHz band. In this specific context, this work aims at studying a new multicarrier modulation, with a baseband signaling wave-forms, different from the traditional cardinal sine one. The proposed system is studied theorically, together with the fea-sibility of its implementation using programmable components. The spectral efficiency of the suggested system is compared with that of the traditional system. Applications in transpor-tation area, with communication channels strongly disturbed by Doppler effect, are presented at the end of the report, as well as a use with a Ultra Wide Band system

Pełny tekst źródłaAs transformações F e F(diferente) surgiram associados ao problema de estabilidade em média-quadrática de sistemas bilineares discretos de dimensão infinita evoluindo em espaços de Hilbert separáveis, tendo sido originariamente definidas através de séries infinitas na álgebra de Banach dos operadores lineares e limitados no espaço de Hilbert em que o sistema evolui. O presente trabalho parte de uma condição suficiente para a estabilidade, condição esta anteriormente determinada, que se traduz imposições sobre os raios espectrais das transformações mencionadas ambos estritamente menores que um- e do fato já conhecido de que, a condição sendo parcialmente satisfeita, isto é, um dos raios espectrais menor que um, não implica que ela o seja por completo. Deste modo, coloca-se uma primeira questão: em que casos tal implicação existe? O estudo é então desenvolvido sobre a simplificação das condições que originaram: as transformações F e F (diferente) são tomadas simplificadamente como somas de apenas dois termos, e a questão inicial se converte na pesquisa de casos em que a igualdade entre raios espectrais de F e F(diferente) ocorre. Mais precisamente, os termos que compõem F e F(diferente) se constitui em produtos de operadores pertencentes à álgebra de Banach inicialmente referida, de modo que é feita uma análise do comportamento dos raios espectrais de F e F(diferente) situando-se esses operadores em classes específicas nessa álgebra. Sob estas condições são apresentados resultados relativos às classes dos operadores auto-adjuntos, unitários, normais, isometrias e subnormais, assim como um resultado referente aos shifts ponderados. Além disto, é apresentado um resultado geral para o caso de espaços de dimensão finita.
The transformations f and F(different) appeared associated to the mean-square stability problem for infinite dimensional discrete bilinear systems evolving in a separable Hilbert space, being originally defined as infinite series in the Banach algebra of bounded linear operators on the Hilbert space where the system evolves. The present work starts with a previously defined sufficient stability condition, expressed by assumptions on the spectral radiuses of the mentioned transformations - both strictly less than one- and from the already known fact that the condition being partially fulfilled, that is, one of the spectral radiuses less than one, does not imply that it be so completely. Thus one poses a first question: in which cases does one have such an implication? The study is then developed on a simplification of the conditions from which it arose: both F and F(different) are taken as sums of only terms, and the initial question becomes the search for cases in which the equality betweem the spectral radiuses of F and F(different) occurs. More precisely, the terms that compose F and F(different) are products of operators in the above mentioned algebra, so that the behaviour of the spectral radiuses of F and F (different) is analysed by placing those operators in specific classes in that algebra. Under these assumptions, results related to the classes of self-adjoint, unitary, normal, isometries and subnormal operators are presented, as well as result referring to weighted shifts. Besides, a general result related to finite-dimensional spaces is also presented.

Pełny tekst źródłaWith the rapid growth of multimedia content, 3D objects are becoming more and more popular. Most of the time, they are modeled as complex polygonal meshes or dense point clouds, providing immersive experiences in different industrial and consumer multimedia applications. The point cloud, which is easier to acquire than mesh and is widely applicable, has raised many interests in both the academic and commercial worlds.A point cloud is a set of points with different properties such as their geometrical locations and the associated attributes (e.g., color, material properties, etc.). The number of the points within a point cloud can range from a thousand, to constitute simple 3D objects, up to billions, to realistically represent complex 3D scenes. Such huge amounts of data bring great technological challenges in terms of transmission, processing, and storage of point clouds.In recent years, numerous research works focused their efforts on the compression of meshes, while less was addressed for point clouds. We have identified two main approaches in the literature: a purely geometric one based on octree decomposition, and a hybrid one based on both geometry and video coding. The first approach can provide accurate 3D geometry information but contains weak temporal consistency. The second one can efficiently remove the temporal redundancy yet a decrease of geometrical precision can be observed after the projection. Thus, the tradeoff between compression efficiency and accurate prediction needs to be optimized.We focused on exploring the temporal correlations between dynamic dense point clouds. We proposed different approaches to improve the compression performance of the MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) V-PCC (Video-based Point Cloud Compression) test model, which provides state-of-the-art compression on dynamic dense point clouds.First, an octree-based adaptive segmentation is proposed to cluster the points with different motion amplitudes into 3D cubes. Then, motion estimation is applied to these cubes using affine transformation. Gains in terms of rate-distortion (RD) performance have been observed in sequences with relatively low motion amplitudes. However, the cost of building an octree for the dense point cloud remains expensive while the resulting octree structures contain poor temporal consistency for the sequences with higher motion amplitudes.An anatomical structure is then proposed to model the motion of the point clouds representing humanoids more inherently. With the help of 2D pose estimation tools, the motion is estimated from 14 anatomical segments using affine transformation.Moreover, we propose a novel solution for color prediction and discuss the residual coding from prediction. It is shown that instead of encoding redundant texture information, it is more valuable to code the residuals, which leads to a better RD performance.Although our contributions have improved the performances of the V-PCC test models, the temporal compression of dynamic point clouds remains a highly challenging task. Due to the limitations of the current acquisition technology, the acquired point clouds can be noisy in both geometry and attribute domains, which makes it challenging to achieve accurate motion estimation. In future studies, the technologies used for 3D meshes may be exploited and adapted to provide temporal-consistent connectivity information between dynamic 3D point clouds

Pełny tekst źródłaIn this thesis, we study into two different parts the eigenvectors associated to unimodular eigenvalues of an operator on a separable Banach space. The first part of the thesis follows a work of F. Bayart and S. Grivaux where they give condition on the eigenvectors associated to unimodular eigenvalues of an operator on a complex separable Hilbert space to admit a Gaussian measure for which the operator defines a strongly mixing transformation. With this condition on the eigenvectors, we investigate the subject of speed of mixing of the strongly mixing operator. We prove that there is no way to obtain a uniform speed of mixing in general. Then we prove that if the eigenvectors associated to unimodular eigenvalues of the operator are parametrized by a countable family of regular eigenvector fields then we have a speed of mixing by considering regular classes of functions. In the second part of the thesis, we study the unimodular point spectrum of an operator on a separable Banach space. By using the results on Jamison sequences, we give a characterization of Jamison sequences for strongly continuous semigroups. We are also concerned in the problem of construction of Banach space and operator on this space when the sequences are not Jamison sequences. Then we generalize the notion of Jamison sequence by studying the unimodular point spectrum of a group representation which is bounded with respect to some sequence of this group. In particular, we characterize Jamison sequences of a finitely generated abelian group

In each of these two parts, methods / models developed were treated from a theoretical point of view, numerical and experimental. In the multi-spectral part, a method of temperature measurement to take into account a spectral variation of the overall measurement chain (including the emissivity) was introduced. Moreover, a method of determining the optimal wavelengths in the sense of minimizing the standard deviation of temperature, has been developed. Finally, it has also been shown that the optimal wavelengths for mono-spectral and bi-spectral measurements could be determined with similar laws to Wien's displacement law. In the Thermal Characterization part, different methods and models have been developed. The proposed methods perform the estimation of longitudinal and transverse diffusivities on all harmonics simultaneously. Furthermore, they allow overcoming the thermal coupling due to the presence of a sample holder, and / or making pseudo-local measurements of diffusivities. Pełny tekst źródłaThis thesis focuses on the HRTF individualization problem in the context of binaural synthesis for general applications. HRTF strongly depend on morphological features of a person and, in order to provide compelling auditory spaces, binaural synthesis requires the use of individualized HRTF. Measuring or calculating the HRTF of a listener are common but lengthy and costly methods that are not feasible for general public applications. That is the reason why we aim to develop an alternative technique to obtain customized HRTF. The technique proposed relies on estimating the spectral cues of the HRTF, corresponding to the colorations induced by pinna filtering, from a person's morphology. The spectral cues represent the most complex and individual part of HRTF. The work presented in this thesis is based on the existence of a direct and systematic link between the morphology of a person and the spectral cues of their HRTF. The goal is to start from individualization techniques of HRTF and make studies for better understanding the relationship between the morphology of a person and their HRTF. The ultimate goal is then to find a proper morphological matching personalization technique. The first step to achieve this goal is to build the measuring systems who will help us create the databases that we will use for our analyses. This thesis explains the two measuring systems that were created and the measuring protocols that were used to create two related databases containing the 3D models and the measured HRTFs of a collection of people. We then explain how these databases can be used to fit the HRTF individualization technique we have proposed

M. ) for predicting the dynamic response of single and double-stage geared drives are presented. They deal with the introduction of the contact conditions between mating flanks and the applications to finite element modelings. State equations are solved in the frequency domain and some specific numerical procedures are introduced i. E. , computation and filtering of the excitation spectra, formulation of a fast product of convolution, superposition of several meshes, solution by an iterative process. The validity of the method is assessed by comparing the transmission error curves from single stage drives with geometrical errors delivered by I. S. M. And the classical Newmark's method. Comparisons are extended to errorless double stage units with and without an idler gear. Both methods give comparable results with a significant gain in computational time for the I. S. M. The Iterative Spectral Method is systematically used on several single and double mesh gear units with various gear shape deviations and mounting errors. Finally, the influence of the pinion-gear relative positions, the role of tooth shape modifications and several geometrical errors on the system dynamic response are systematically analyzed
