Pełny tekst źródłaTourism is one of the social and economic phenomena evidencing the most rapid growth this century, and it has the potential of becoming the largest industry in the country. To prevent a decline in the tourism assets of South Africa, while simultaneously maximizing • the economic benefits and job opportunities arising from tourism, it is vitally important for the industry to be managed with great care. Against the backdrop of domestic tourism in South Africa, research was conducted into and recommendations made on the issue of whether the tourist destination sector has the necessary management structure and infra-organization to underpin effective management, communication, co-ordination and the promotion of tourism activities and objectives within this sector. An historical perspective on the process of change affecting the organization of tourism, linked to the findings derived from the empirical study, will endeavour to give an account of the development of tourism organizations in the destination sector compared to the present day state of affairs at national, regional and local levels. As a significant part of the success of any organization may be att~buted to good management and organization, this study also focuses on the importance of management in general, organization, types of structures, effective communication co-ordination and marketing communication.

This millennium has brought changes in various spheres of political, economic, cultural, and social development. Tourist activity has accompanied these changes in the global scenario producing consumers who increasingly yearn to feel that they are unique. The desire some tourist today is for personalized experiences, which not only provide a simple detachment from everyday life, but also the opportunity to live a memorable experience. For that reason, theories from anthropology, marketing and tourism and, in particular, the issue related to the anthropology of experience and the economy of experience, have been deployed. Moreover, the dimensions of experience defined by Pine II and Gilmore (1999) and Oh, Fiore and Jeoung (2007), have been used in order to examine what made the experience of tourists visiting Gramado in the years 2010 and 2011 extraordinary. Therefore, the research was divided into two parts. At first, quantitative information was collected via survey from a pre-selected sample, which was meant to identify respondents who could have a greater probability of having undertaken an extraordinary experience on their Gramado trip. In the second part, the adopted selection criterion was based on the highest medium score of survey respondents. The applied interview technique aimed to collect material that sufficiently identified the content analysis of tourists who most likely perceived their tourist experience as memorable. Henceforth, key elements that were prompted by those surveyed have been extracted in order to create a category of analysis. This research identified three dimensions of experience that have not been previously identified in the literature. At the end of the study it can be concluded that Gramado is able to provide extraordinary experiences as a tourist destination because it allowed the elements that point to the perception of a memorable experience to be triggered by the visitors. Although there is the conviction that this is a subjective analysis, which has common aspects, it is al o dependent of individual factors.

Tourism is a growing activity and is responsible for one in every twelve jobs in the world. With the advent of internet interpersonal and commercial relationships change every day. For travel agencies and tourism, distributors of the product / tourist service, such transformations have totally changed the way to manage the business. This paper analyzes the interference of the Internet on the competitiveness of travel and tourism agencies and aims to identify the profile of these companies, how to use the Internet, the processes that assist in customer relationships through information and communication technologies and evaluate the role of the Internet in the competitiveness of these companies. In forming the theoretical framework used out a bibliometric study to determine the state of the art on the topic and added to the authors of the areas of Tourism, Management, Marketing, Competitiveness, Quality, Finance and Information Systems. The field research interviewed 68 companies from São Paulo and showed similar results to those of other countries, such as the profile of predominantly micro and small enterprises, which are still not fully aware of the changes in the market, and have assured that investment in the relationship with the client, along with the constant analysis of its internal capabilities is critical for the success of the same. The current study add to the literature segment of the travel and tourism agencies, which has little specific literature.

The aim of this work is to study the concept of pedagogic Tourism, focusing on conceptual relations that may arise from the analysis of this combination, considering the term “Tourism” as the nuclear one of the expression. Thus, supposing that in the constitution of this binomial, each of its constitutive elements contains a wide and dynamic conceptual spectrum, woven by different theoretical biases, which were built in diverse historical contexts, the research aims at answering the following questions: Which would be the concepts of tourism, and the epistemological-pedagogical presuppositions contained in the adjective “pedagogic”? Would these concepts and presuppositions be discussed on scientific literature with focus on “pedagogic Tourism”? From this viewpoint, this work has the aim of identifying/explaining conceptual configurations of the expression “pedagogic Tourism” in theoretical or theoretical-practical assumptions which are present (and accessed) in scientific literature (in which pedagogic Tourism is studied), considering, on one hand, conceptual approaches of tourism, and, on the other hand, relations which are established between epistemological and pedagogical models. In this sense, systematization will be provided, in time and bibliography, considering methodology of production in Brazil, as well as knowledge about it – or, more specifically, an analytical-conceptual vision of those who study tourism. This qualitative and bibliographic explorative research analyzes, through an hermeneutical approach and methodological operational cuts, twelve articles published between the years of 2005 and 2012, in scientific Brazilian journals and/or those which were presented in scientific events consolidated in the area of Tourism, in which title appears the expression “pedagogic Tourism”. This analysis was done based on the process of elaboration of a definition, as Garcia (2006) presents it. According to it, this is a predicative proposition composed of: Term (definiendum), Copula, Gender (genus), and Differences (differentiae). After the process was followed, it was arrived to a definition of pedagogical Tourism, to which a number of authors converged. From this, it was done an interpretative synthesis, identifying conceptual configurations of tourism, as well as pedagogical-epistemological assumptions which would be adjacent to them. This study led to the discussion of the name of the activity at school. It also evidenced repeated “conceptual errors” in this combination’s approach. This leads to signs of the importance of discussing conceptual configurations related to pedagogical Tourism, mainly those which remain in time, as well as theoretical conceptions followed by some incongruence related to their epistemological-pedagogical bases, and links established by school practice.

In the context of the process of the tourist potentiality’s developement of a place, it is necessary to give voice and to listen to the community in order to create solid bases. The present study tried to elucidate the following question: Which features can show tourism and welcoming conceptions and the stablished relations between these phenomenon by the primarily welcoming subjects of Urupema/SC city, concerning to a construction of this community profile as a Welcoming Collective Group? Then this study set as objectives: to infer and to analyze the traces of these conceptions and relations; to provide a construction of subsidies in order to make this community recognized as a Welcoming Collective Group – WCG, in Santos, Perazzolo and Pereira (2014) definitions, and to its inhabitants can recognize the relational dynamic of this Group and recognize themselves; to point out subsidies to favor some actions, in order to promote the development of the welcoming competence. And contribute to the potentiation of the tourism development of the city taking into account the municipal and state public policy.Without considering the multiple analitic sides of the tourism and the welcoming, this study has as basic assumptions of reference the conceptual propositions of tourism by Perazzolo, Santos and Pereira (2013) which were constructed at the psycanalisis theories, specially with the Freud and Lacan’s contributions about the subject constitution as well as hospitality or welcoming which were comprehended as one of the tourism founding elements. The research is exploratory descriptive and has the qualitative character priority and developed methodological procedures which were defined by the hermeneutics approach of the data which were obtained by semi-structured interviews with 17 subjects of different segments that are considered as representative in Urupema’s community. The analysis and interpretation of the results were done by the Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2000) and complemented by the analysis of the Linguistics of Enunciation (FUCHS, 1985 and FLORES et al., 2009). The discursives detectors pointed out to a tourism conception underlying to the subject’s speech which is predominantly with marketing fields with emphasis to the structural and operational kinds linked to the offering and demanding of tourism products in order to the constitution of a touristic destination. This structural and services provision is derived from the prioritization of an instrumental pattern of the welcoming willingness (the welcomer as the environment, a mechanism to attend supposed internal and self-centered dermands of the tourist/guest) our tourism conceptual references typologies were developed by Perazzolo, Santos and Ferreira (2016) and related to the welcoming of the willingness in the hospitality’s construction. In terms of the features that delineate the Urupema’s community profile as WCG, it was not identified by the primary welcoming subjects, a direct and sufficient comprehension, and consequent implementation of the systemic relations, inherent to the model, among services, management and culture, undermining the linkages among them.In this sense, we propose something beyond training or professional qualification, the planning and development of some collective reflexive actions which can favor tourism and welcoming conceptual resignifications and of the related relations on the part of the primary welcoming subjects which would make known on the strengthening of the sense of belonging to this community and then to reflect at the tourism and welcoming daily practicing.
Molose, Thembisile Heyne. "An investigation into the factors influencing tourist choice of an eating establishment". Thesis, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2005. http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11838/976.
Pełny tekst źródłaThis study illustrates the practical value of incorporating the assessment of data obtained from surveys conducted on tourists' views of current service offerings at eating establishments. The findings from such surveys can assist tourism and the hospitality industry managers to identify priorities for product and service improvements. In essence, the research report examines how tourists (both domestic and foreign) make the choice of an eating establishment. It also examines how greater understanding of user-satisfaction (tourists) with the hospitality products or services may improve planning for the development of these service offerings. In order to conceptualise the research problem, a review of literature is provided of selected aspects of visitors perceptions in the Cape Metropolitan region. Moreover, these aspects (facilities for children, persons with disability, special attention for pensioners, African dishes on offer) are also considered based on the argument that the views of visitors on current service offerings should be given far more prominence than generally occurs at present. The survey of two hundred tourists was conducted during the peak holiday season of December 2004 to January 2005 in the Cape Metropolitan region of South Africa. The survey examined views and perceptions of visitors about a range of services at eating establishments. Survey results reported selected aspects of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the services of eating establishment in the Cape Town city centre, Waterfront and Camps Bay. The researcher concludes that current service offerings at eating establishments in the Cape Metropolitan region do little to accommodate visitors whose primary reasons for visiting are to experience the South African food and wine, especially cultural-specific foods, as well as accommodating the needs of disabled visitors, children and old age pensioners. The implications of the findings will assist relevant authorities to help enhance service offerings.

The study describes the perceptiions, expectations and knowledge got from representatives of the public and private sectors of the city of Gramado and tourists who visited the city, about the importance of the security on planning the touristic activity. Twenty native people who have their business in Gramado and twenty-one tourists in their visits to the city participated in this study. The city of Gramado is considered an important touristic destination in the south of Brazil. In the field of public security, the analysis was produc:ed using the workforce of the military police, in as much as their contact with thte public (local community and tourists) is permanent. The treatment of the security in tourism presented, broaches the perspective suggested by Tourism Wmld Organization (TWO), the re lated factors and the severa! dimension which make part o f the concept " T ouristic Security". People answered an interview based on trips with tou rs previously defined, using two different questionnaires: each one for each group. The analysis of the answers suggest the following: local community thinks that Gramados' attraction is closely related to security; tourists consider the city a safe and calm place. 8oth groups (local and tourists) mention the importance of the military police to gain capacity to work with the tourists in a proper way.

Consequence of the constant movement of a tourismologist trying to acclimatize to the anthropological gaze, and its ethnographic nuances, this paper seeks to complexify the understanding and uses of Touristic(s) Experience(s), either by scientific academy, as by the tourism trade. While searching theoretical basis for understanding the proposal by the Anthropology of Experience, by Victor Turner and Edward Bruner, and its scientific approach to Experience, highlighting its procedural form and ritual, personal and subjective, this work attempts to understand why a life story can only be perceived and felt by the person who experiences the realities that faces in different spaces that circulates throughout his life, and expresses the way that wants and is able to represent. Immersed in cyberspace, while experiencing methodologies for emergence of clues in this opened universe, plural and not fixed, allowing expressions decentralized and deterritorialized, according to the interests and meaningful guidelines of each person that externalizes them, search narratives in Travel blogs that can express representations about their traveling experiences, wrapped (in front) to a phenomenon that displaces individuals from their everyday space and time, such as tourism, which at the same time, enables moments of strangeness, of dramatic confrontation between their previous knowledge and the reality in front of them. By understanding of culture as a dynamic network of interactions, built by each individual along the relationships experienced in their lives and the displacement provided by tourism and communication, such as the network of relationships established from the common interest by travel, although each present character express different perspectives on the subject. From this, we question the understanding of a touristic experience from their physical structures and fixed, considering the main characters cognizant of this whole process, people with their own meaningful guidelines and space-temporal relations given the different realities that experience as its own baggage of life.
Smal, Deborah Joanne. "Instructional design for guiding tourists in a changed South Africa". Thesis, Cape Technikon, 1997. http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11838/1853.
Pełny tekst źródłaThis study is aimed at instructional design for training tourist guides in order to specifically enable them to accommodate the requirements and expectations of "new" South African tourists wishing to join a package tour. The latter refers to those citizens who have previously been excluded from tourism destinations and/or attractions because ofracial regulations ofthe past.. The traditional role ofthe tourist guide and the present-day modus within which it has realised, have been examined reaching the conclusion that the designation "tourist guide" means far more, now focusing on being an educator and culture broker. This new role requires a new and innovative training. Although training courses for tourist guides do exist, these courses do not equip guides to act as culture brokers, mediating between tourists and hosts or host destinations, nor between foreign tourists and all facets ofthe diverse South African culture. Tourist guides occupy key positions in the tourism industry. They make the work of tourism planners, marketers, developers, travel agents and tour operators accessible to tourists. This implies unfolding reality to tourists, setting professional standards and interacting with local communities. This comprehensive role is often not attained as desired because those accepting the responsibility for it are not sufficiently trained, indeed not when the needs and expectations of "new" domestic tourists are considered. The abovementioned curriculum design was launched with a needs assessment to determine the needs of"new" domestic tourists, as only the needs and expectations ofwhite, traditional, indeed.

Tourism in rural environment is related to the prospects of economic, social and cultural development in rural areas and therefore, many localities are investing in this tourist segment as a way to add value in their farms. Starting this context, this research is directed to the area of tourism in rural space and routing, though a longitudinal study of Colonial Route Baumschneis, with the aim of analyzing the construction and development of this route, in his fourteen years in operation, and seeking to discover the factors that contributed to the current situation on the route. To do so, aspects of the creation, organization and development of the route, which featured the attractions that have made and have still part of the itinerary, listing its tourist potential and motivation and his retention in tourism were identified, as well as reporting the factors that led to the current stage of the Route. The methodology that guided the research process was characterized by a case study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, developed through a survey of exploratory- descriptive. The Colonial Route Baumschneis, located in the municipality of Dois Irmãos, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, was created in 1998 and implemented in 2000, aiming to provide economic-social alternatives for the community, turning the potential found in rural as tourist attractions, praising German culture in this city, a result of the process of colonization. The route has seven kilometers, covering currently fifteen tourist attractions, categorized into natural and cultural. The results show that the Colonial Route Baumschneis was created by incentive of the Local Government, and at the design stage, there was the effective participation of the owners and the local community. During the fourteen years there were some inflows of new attractions, however, also other shutdown occurred. It was observed that the factors that led the route to the current situation is linked to the lack of interest of the families to continue the family activity, duplication of products and/or attractions in some cases, reducing the profitability of these, and especially the lack of economic return, disclosure, and management aspects that have generated frustration, accommodation and demobilization. However, at the same time it became clear that the route provided an improvement in self-esteem of the owners of tourist developments , which today feel valued by their customs and Germanic traditions, as well as portion of the participants has improved prospects routes and are optimistic about the increased tourist flow.

This dissertation is organized to show the Festa Nacional da Champanha (National Feast of Champagne) - FENACHAMP held in Garibaldi/RS, since 1981, to celebrate the pioneering spirit of the municipality in the production of sparkling wine in Brazil. The investigation through the party had as (its) research question: from the study of the Social Representations Theory, having as its object the FENACHAMP of Garibaldi/RS, and the proposed application of the term thematical feast, it is possible to consider: How the feast in question presents itself, in its different editions? How it is represented in the media and symbolic discourse over the years, in its different editions? Are there common speeches about the feast, regardless its edition? This discourse supports the construction of the concept thematical feast?; and as its purposes: research and analyze the existing knowledge regarding the theme of festivals and events; contextualize the feast in tourism through the construction of the concept of thematical feast; and identify the social representations emerging from the object studied, assuming that it represents a feast within the proposed concept, that is, it takes on the characteristics of what is proposed as a thematical feast. The methodology is organized considering the techniques of oral history, especially the interviews and documentary research, and the theory of social representations, to organize and analyze the results. From this study, it is proposed to apply the term thematical feast to designate the feasts that seek entertainment and stand as an event for the community, having its imagery organized from the product or the traditional culture expressions of the site where it happens. It was observed in FENACHAMP four representations, which are: Feast, Tourism, Thematization and Queen. The representation feast has the symbolic construction of the excess, the results and problems. Tourism representation is constructed from the projection, the community and the Italian identity. The Thematization is marked by the champagne and Italian identity. Finally, the representation of the Queen is symbolically constructed from the image, the representation, the dream and the experience. Accordingly, the FENACHAMP contributes and supports the application of the term thematical feast.

Adventure tourism, as a form of alternative tourism, should follow the principles of sustainability. The city of Três Coroas uses natural resources to promote adventure tourism. Among the existing adventure tourism activities in the city, the rafting is the more relevant activity to the development of local tourism. The research's objective was assess the sustainability of adventure tourism activities in the city of Três Coroas, using the pillars of Adventure Tourism Development Index (ATDI). The survey data were collected by interviews, participant observation and literature research. The interviews were conducted with five businessmen of adventure tourism and the municipal tourism director. The collected data were used for the assessment and classification of Três Coroas' adventure tourism, by the criteria of the Adventure Tourism Development Index. The relationship between public authorities and entrepreneurs, who put tourism as a strategic factor for the city's development, the quality of services, and the infrastructure were assessed as positive. The lack of control, over the carrying capacity supported by the environment, insufficient basic services, that are essential to the sustainable development of tourism, such as basic sanitation and health, and the Paranhana's river pollution problems were classified as negative. This dissertation is about tourism in Farol Beaches, viewed from the community look on the relations established in the activity. Aims to characterize the tourist practices on the Farol beaches; describe the relations between tourists and the community; and observe and discuss the possible consequences of these relationships in the locality tourism. This is an interdisciplinary study involving the areas Tourism, Hospitality, Communication and Anthropology. The methodological guidance is qualitative, exploratory, with the development of a literature review, participant observation with notebook and field diary and open interviews recorded and transcribed. In terms of results, there is an overview of the deterritorialization in the research, thought from the Baptist (2013), tourism as cultural expression, understood from Geertz (1989), characteristic of tourist practices of the Farol Beaches, dividing seasonally, according to Arantes and Santos (2010), the area with fishing and permeated by characteristics of the surf lifestyle. All these aspects have been demonstrated from the description of tourism and hospitality, according to the community look, fears and aspirations with those practices. The survey also, the developments of the relations established in tourist practices, with the marks the fact that the 'localism' surf and hospitality based on exchanges of Marcel Mauss (2002) are factors that help in preserving this culture, if we think from Castrogiovanni (2003), Barretto (2003) and Krippendorf (2000).

This study was conducted at the Coastal Lagoons Project 3, sponsored by Petrobras and developed by researchers at the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), between 2014 and 2016. The study was done by an exploratory research of qualitative nature. The objective was to identify, characterize and map the adventure tourism activities in the city of Osório-RS, within an environmental perspective. It was used as reconnaissance visits for data collection techniques to the region, on-site observation with photographic records and interviews with offerors segment of adventure. The interviews were applied of nine specialized operators in adventure activities, were transcribed, tabulated and analyzed to interpret the results. The visits and on-site observations complement the information from the interviews. In Osorio, were identified 12 activities (kitesurf, stand up paddle, boat sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, glider, paraglider, parafly, hang gliding, mountain biking, hiking trails and horseback riding). Among the services offered by operators, 65% are developed in water, 20% air and 15% on earth. It was estimated 4.060 attendances per year in adventure operations in Osório, coming from Porto Alegre, Vale dos Sinos and Serra Gaucha. Of the nine respondents, eight reported to worry about the quality of the environment where they perform their activities. Two operators take actions to educate their customers about the conservation of the sites where the activities are developed. The results indicate the city's potential for adventure tourism due to its diversity of natural resources, lakes, mountain and ocean. In addition, receiving enough wind allowing practice 60% of the identified activities. A striking feature for tourism in Osório is its geographical position, located about 90 km from the state capital, Porto Alegre. It also has quality access roads which facilitates transportation to the site. Osório has geographical and landscape features that could make the city a tourist destination. Promoting contact with nature, prioritizing the quality of life through leisure added to sport, health and adventure.

Destinations located in coastal regions, such as lake environments, are considered the most popular in the world today. Brazil stands out for its extensive coast and for having attractions for those who enjoy the sun and the beaches. In Rio Grande do Sul, a southernmost state in Brazil, there is a coastal region found to be unique in the world. It consists of a privileged region that has a coastal plain with 37,000 km² as well as approximately 100 freshwater lakes along its coast. The area of study covers the city of Osório, located on the north coast of the state, formed by a lake complex. In addition, these lakes are embedded in a mosaic of terrestrial ecosystems with a high diversity that harbor endangered species. Thus, taking into account the importance of these environments and the anthropic pressures that threaten them, the present study intended to characterize the industry of tourism in the lakes of Osório by checking the residents’ Willingness to Pay (WTP) for their preservation using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). Results show that besides its ecological value, this web of lakes has a historical-cultural heritage not yet explored by tourism. Among the people interviewed, over 70% are willing to pay for the preservation of the coastal lakes. By means of the residents’ WTP, a total annual value of R$ 931,491.86 was estimated so that the lakes can be preserved. This research may contribute to help one think of lakes as plural environments, providing the community and the public administration of Osório with the parameters to create a future financial fund aimed at preserving these ecosystems.

Gramado-RS has the image of "tourist destination model" between the Ministry of Tourism and other institutions in the area, other Brazilian and international destinations, and tourists. From this statement and considering the brand image as a concept related to the receiver, while brand identity as a concept associated with the issuer, this research has the problem question: How the Gramado’s brand identity is built to generate the "tourist destination model" image? In the theoretical reference are studies found about overall brand identity and tourist destinations brand identity. Among the theoretical models covered in these studies, the Hankinson’s model (2004) was selected, entitled "The relational network brand", to reach the goal of this research: to characterize the Gramado’s brand identity built to instill the image of "tourist destination model". Organizational and analytical procedures of discursive data is guided by assumptions and techniques of content analysis. The research universe was integrated by subjects of the government, the private sector, workers and the local community of Gramado, a total of 21 respondents. In addition to interviews, being a case study, were also consulted books about the history of tourism in Gramado; dissertations of Tourism and Hospitality Master in UCS that this destination is the study scenario; and reports connected with the research. Among the results is that the attributes with the highest occurrence in the answers of respondents were symbolic and functional attributes, especially "tourist attraction/events" as what differentiates Gramado from your competitors. The relationship between the brand and tourists is based more in this destination be considered conducive to leisure, attractive, innovative and it has credibility. Also, it was evidenced a lack of strategic planning with the active participation of internal stakeholders. As for relationships with other stakeholders, it was found that practically does not use paid advertising.

The existence of a variety of touristy options becomes increasingly evident the factors that trigger competitiveness and these factors can cause interference, positive or otherwise, regarding the performance of tourist destinations, whether local or regional. The interference when positive, can contribute to improving the quality of life for residents, who go to live with a more active economy, whose tendency is to provide a larger number of remunerated activities and infrastructure. This work involves the study of the competitiveness and quality of life of a tourist destination, in order to analyze the existence of correspondence between the two constructs in the city of Gramado (RS). To achieve this goal it created a exploratory, descriptive character, with qualitative and quantitative approach, focused on the perception of managers of lodging establishments and food in order to obtain information on the competitiveness of established enterprises and the quality of life observed residents this tourist destination. With these tabulated information, it sought to determine whether the managers of tourist enterprises realize the competitiveness and whether it has correspondence with the competitive performance. It was also evaluated the perception of residents about the quality of life and how it corresponds with competitiveness. As a main conclusion of the study it was found that there is correspondence between the two constructs (the higher the competitiveness of existing establishments, the better quality of life for residents), which confirms previous studies by Vianna (2011) in Santa Catarina municipalities.

The spread of tourism brought as a consequence the need to innovate constantly to attract new visitors. Innovation in services not only contributes to the high performance and the company's profitability, but for economic development as a whole. Thus, justified the use of technology in the constant search for innovation, is to launch a new product or service, change or improve their processes, marketing or management, considering it as a key element for technological innovation happen. From the importance of the issues related to the subject, the research aimed to verify the technological innovations implemented in the services and innovations in processes, radical and incremental, in Snowland snow park, located in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, and if these technological innovations attract tourists to the city. The methodology used was a case study, exploratory and descriptive, divided into two stages of research, focused on data collection. In the first stage it was used for in-depth interviews conducted with company experts. Later interviews passed through content analysis. In the second research stage was used the survey research method, applying a structured questionnaire, which was validated by experts and tested, and later applied to a sample of 385 visitors. At this stage, the data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and multivariate linear regression. As a result in qualitative research, it was found that technological innovations in services are mainly related to the snow production equipment and skidoo the battery, and these innovations can be considered radical. With regard to innovations in processes, we have to purchase tickets online, the use of electronic bracelets, which record the consummation, and efficient checklist in preparation and guidance for practical activities, they were considered incremental innovations. In quantitative research found that the first choice of tourists is related to visiting natural attractions (48.8%), while in second place is the snow park (23.4%). In addition, the end of the work, the average found for the innovations of the park was 6.51 and the services provided were satisfactory, was 6.03. Therefore, the study was able to search on technological innovation in the service sector, because usually most studies are focused on the industry sector. Furthermore, considering that the issue is being discussed in the gym and that needs to be widespread in the business world, it is pertinent to the development of scientific research in this area of knowledge, encouraging the practice of technological innovation in the tourism sector.

Environmental Education (EE) in the tourism and hospitality perspective is an important object of study in the production of knowledge. In this context lies this research, which seeks to reflect on the relationships established between public policies, educational tourism projects in Bachelor's Degree programs, knowledge production, and the environmental dimension. The aim of this research is to analyze the inclusion of Environmental Education in Tourism Bachelor’s Degree programs in Rio Grande do Sul. For this purpose, the documentary research was used to assist in the investigation, in order to verify how the environmental dimension is contextualized in official documents. Thus, the research’s document structure is constituted of: Brazilian Federal Constitution; National Tourism Policy (General Law of Tourism); National Tourism Plan (2013-2016); National Environmental Policy; National Environmental Education Policy (PNEA); Decree No. 4.281, of June 25, 2002; State Environmental Education Policy - RS; National Education Plan; Law of Directives and Bases of National Education; Instrument for External Institutional Evaluation; Instrument for Undergraduate Courses’ (on-site and distance education) Evaluation; National Directives for Environmental Education; National Curriculum Directives for the Tourism Undergraduate Course - Bachelor Degree and Pedagogical Projects in Bachelor Degree in Tourism from three institutions of higher education. Referring to the courses’ pedagogical projects it is highlighted that the ones analyzed were those available in the electronic addresses of the respective higher education institutions. The results indicate that the environmental dimension is bound, predominantly, to those subjects included in the analyzed educational projects, and gaps regarding the transversality of environmental issues are clearly perceived.

Recreational and economic activities require natural resources for theirs development, more and more. Nevertheless, negative impacts on environment and the sustainability discussion as a basic and indispensable condition are unavoidable, to ensure the continuity of these processes. This research aims to analyze the guest information about related environmental practices to the management, conservation and at the water use in lodging means, according to NBR 15401. In that case, 166 questionnaires were applied to guests of three MHs of the Longevity and Thermal Baths Tourist Route in two weeks with events in the region. The data indicate that 38% of the interviewees accomplish the water consumption control in the MHs where they are guests; 32% say that theirs biggest concern is related to waste and water contamination; 15,1% indicate that the MHs where they are guests introduce water use rationalization measures, but from isolated manner and not in the environmental programs shape. The detached main measures by guests implanted in the MHs are automatic stopcock or flow restrictors, bath towels reuse and bedclothes replace in alternated days. Occasionally, the data also reveal that the MHs introduce information to the guests about water consumption minimization and rationalization and others natural resources. The research results signalize adopted measures by guests and MHs related to sustainability management, specially the hydric resources management. As continuity, they suggest new studies about environmental management in those enterprises, especially in relation to the managers, collaborators and guests’ participation, identifying theirs information and attitudes in favor of the water consumption minimization and of the sustainable tourism construction process.

What environmental sustainability measures are implemented in the lodging means of the Roteiro Turístico Vale dos Vinhedos? From that question, the study aims to analyze the environmental sustainability actions developed in hotels and hostels in the route. From exploratory character, the research uses as data collection techniques, questionnaire and direct observation. The questionnaire applied to the managers, based on 13 questions, it searched information about: reduction in electrical energy consumption and energetic efficiency increase; water consumption reduction; solid residue management; means for searching the guests opinion about offered services; environmental criteria for suppliers selection; measures to minimize odors, gases and noises emission; training programs for collaborators and sensitization to guests; effluents treatment and environmental certification by specialized organism. For the questionnaire preparation was used as a tool, the 2011 Tourism Ministry’s Lodging Means Rating Matrix. Direct observation was accomplished in all sectors of the lodging means searched to identify the implemented environmental actions. The results demonstrate as the lodging means develop actions, practices or environmental sustainability programs. It verifies itself that 100% of the managers information indicate that sustainability measures are implemented and accomplished. However, the actions relating to certification by specialized organism are insufficient, refraining from only the environmental license certification municipal sectors. From the environmental measures, reduction in electrical energy consumption and energetic efficiency increase are the most adopted by the lodging means. It follows that it proposes which the lodging means make available in their websites, the actions or constant environmental practices of its planning and that they are accomplished internal training programs for managers and collaborators, as well as guests sensitization, to motivate them and compromise them with implemented environmental sustainability actions in the lodging means.

The objective of this study was to compare the Apollo Group of Hospitals, which is considered a worldwide reference for medical tourism, to the Brazilian south's enterprises Hotel and Spa Recanto das Águas and Itá Thermas Resort and Spa, for they have an especific department dedicated to life quality and well being. The research was comparative, of exploratory and descriptive nature, with a qualitative edge. Therefore units of meaning for definition of categories of analisys were elected, which allowed it to determine how much these variables grow farther or closer from the Indian model, considered ideal, taking under consideration the fact that India and Brazil are in different cultural, economic, social and politic levels. They are: a) excellency in the medical areas, b) hospitalar hotels, c) surroundings. In this study the bibliographic and documental researches were engaged, and intervews and observations made in person. The analyzed documents were bibliographic and relevant, contents published in oficial governamental Indian sites and themes around the reality of the Apollo Hospitals on its own site on the net, as well as archives required for appreciation. The interviews were made with the managers of Brazilian enterprises, objects of this study. The observations in person happened in the Hotel and Spa Recanto das Águas and in the Itá Thermas Resort and Spa. The results prove that Brazil already has enough built range, geographic and human resourses for the medical tourism to be enrooted according to the Indian models, as long as the social, cultural, political and economic factors of this country are respected.

This work proposes a problematization of LGBT Tourism segment, based on analysis of the interpellation mechanisms that are responsible for produce the LGBT subject as a LGBT tourist. To do this, assume the promotional leaflet of the campaign "TRAE TUS COLORES!" as the materiality from which eight discursive sequences are taken to compose the analysis corpus. This campaign, supported by the Brazilian Tourism Institute (EMBRATUR), promoted Brazil as an LGBT tourist destination in December 2014 in the cities of Madrid and Valencia, Spain. The analysis of the promotional leaflet is affiliated to the theorical-methodological dipositive of French Discourse Analysis theorized by Michel Pêcheux, articulating concepts from three theoretical fields: Psychoanalysis, Historical Materialism and Linguistics. For that reason, approaches the concepts of subject and ideology to discuss the mechanisms through which ideology interpellates these subjects, authorizing some senses to their unconscious desire and disallowing others. This process, responsible for identifying the subject and censor the desire, produces psychical and physical displacements, interpreted here as the search for the realization of desire through travel. Assume, therefore, that the impossibility of taking a position, as well as inscribing the desire, is what promotes the displacement of the subject, the research makes a return to the field of Tourism. The latter is approximated to the notion of spectacle (DEBORD, 1997), from which it is possible to perceive the fetishization of the subject's desire to guarantee the alienation of this subject from his own situation. Then, the analysis of the selected discursive sequences demonstrates the process of production of senses from the imaginary formations (PECHEUX, 2014a). In the way described, the work suggests think Tourism as an ideological apparatus of State (ALTHUSSER, 2003), because it functions as a field of reproduction of the dominant ideology, which is the ideology of the ruling class, responsible for regulating discourses that speak of and for LGBT subjects. Discourses about a stigmatized sexuality, including through Tourism, mobilized around the significant sex and intrinsically imbricated in the game of ideological forces of domination of these subjects.

Colonia’s party had originated in 1984, when a group of residents of Linha Bonita, in Gramado / RS, proposed the holding of a festive time for the local community. Soon the party grew and gained identity, starting to be held in the Center City of Gramado and today is one of the major tourist events in the city. This research had as objective strengthen the rapprochement between communication and tourism, investigating how the print media disseminates the Colonia’s party of Gramado/RS. The corpus of the research was delimited to the newspapers Zero Hora, Pioneiro, Integração and Gramado, using the methodology of content analysis as proposal by Laurence Bardin. Touristic destinations’ life cycle model proposed by Butler (1980) arose from a marketing adaptation. Today, it is one of the tourism theories most prestigious and cited in academic works. That research seeks to answer the question: What characteristics must be contemplated on the research instrument, able to identify the certain touristic destination life cycle stage? To identify the stage in which the destination is, it takes to build a tool that allows collecting data required to this end. Therefore, this research has, as general objective, to develop and validate an instrument that allows identifying the certain touristic destination life cycle stage. To answer the question of the study, exploratory and descriptive research, technical and bibliographic procedures and case study were used. It was possible to validate the instrument proposed in Caminhos de Pedra gaucho touristic destination and identify that in it there is a characteristics predominance of the involvement and development stage. Therefore, it was found out itself, that the characteristics contained in the research instrument enable identifying in which of tourist destinations’ life cycle stage is determined destination.

Creative Economy is a study area that aggregates symbolic and commercial value to products and services which are based on creativity, innovation and endogenous culture. Analyzing the Ministry of Culture’s theories, it was possible to identify some related variables at Creative Economy: social, economic, environmental, cultural and innovation. From these, cultural was applied in this research, specifically in the gastronomic souvenir production. In Tourism, one of the products that may be prepared in accordance with Creative Economy standard is the gastronomic souvenir. That touristic element, through its know-how, transmits the local culture to tourists, making as that it recalls of the experienced moments on the trip and also discloses the touristic destination, when it is used for gifting. Thus, this dissertation aims to identify how it takes place the cultural variable description, according to the Brazilian Creative Economy’s guiding principles in the production of gastronomic souvenir present on the “Smoke Mary” (Bento Gonçalves – RS) train tour. Therefore, the methodology of this research makes oneself up as exploratory as much as their objectives; in the technical procedures predominates the case study model; on the research question approach it regards oneself as a qualitative study; the data collection was carried out through of a semi-structured interview; a last, the data were analyzed using the triangulation method. After that, it was verified that the culture description in the gastronomic souvenir production happens in various stages of the preparation of that delicacy. It observes itself presence in use of regional ingredients; in undertaking participation in local cultural events; in forefathers’ know-how ransom; in preference for region suppliers; in local disclosure through the products package and labels, among other situations. Thus, it follows that the local culture use in gastronomic souvenir preparation, it propitiates the region positive impacts, in products with higher added symbolic value. Those impacts may be noted in cultural sphere through the protection, valorization and culture local promotion; in social with the income and employment generation; in economical with the exchange value constitution for the region and in environmental with the little pollution generation, for example.

This research investigated the relationship between viticulture and the development of wine tourism in the municipality of Bituruna, state of Paraná. Being an essentially farming activity, viticulture includes the cultivation and production of grapes for wine production and derivatives. The wine tourism, tourism related to wine, has been developing in Brazil and causes the need to provide goods and services to tourists. Bituruna in grape growing and winemaking began between the decades from 1930 and 1950, the touristification space has been happening slowly. The research is characterized as descriptive qualitative, conducted through the analysis of bibliographic references and interviews with leading wine producers of the municipality, the public and private sector managers, and community representatives. The results indicate that the wine industry is a promising activity, but the wine tourism is incipient by the lack of specific plans to contribute to their full development . The wine tourism in Bituruna can offer the possibility of socioeconomic and cultural development , as long as it better planned.

The fast world population aging process, specially the brazilian, leads to a necessity of attention and studies that contribute to a better comprehension and encourage initiatives that promote a social integration and wellness of the elderly. The tourism, as an alternative of leisure, has shown interest, even still small, in direct their studies to the elderly assistance presenting, usually, as a focus of market segmentation. When focusing the look in the subjects of the tourism , we notice a lack of studies that attempt to these touristic possibilities for old age pensioners, and, usually forgotten by the society. Facing that, this investigation, of qualitative cut, used the told life story of 14 elderly from the old age home Asilo Padre Cacique, in Porto Alegre, to verify if the insertion of leisure and tourism activities in this home can contribute for a better life quality and wellness of their residents, besides of identifying the meaning of tourism for this elderly. The study is presented by a narrative that mentions the story of Miss Odete, a character inspired in the residents life style stories and created as a background to show the discussions about the aging process, the home structure, questions connected to leisure and tourism showing results that evidence the necessity of actions that focus in the human element as the beginning of leisure and tourism practices.

This dissertation relates to the discourse analysis proposed by the French philosopher Michel Pêcheux and it has as the main theme the discussions on the structuration process of the academic discourse which addresses the segmentation of Tourism in Brazil. With this research, I aim to contribute with the study in the Field of Tourism from a critical perspective, with emphasis on GLS Tourism. For this purpose, I have searched in books (published in Brazil and written within the national academic community) for texts that relates Tourism with the LGBT Community, addressing to the construction of this concept. From this search, I have related three texts which assemble the analysis corpus: Angeli (2004 [1999]), Oliveira (2002) and Trigo (2009). From the view of the materiality‟s sequential discourses and the mobilization of concepts like Social Formation, Ideological Formation, Discursive Place, Discursive Formations and Subject-Form, I have developed a theorical method which intends to discuss the appropriation of the acronym “GLS” (expressed within the LGBT Movement as a Discursive Place) by the Market and, inevitably, by the Academy. From these analysis findings, I also point to the conceptual treatment given to the subject in the processes of segmentation of Tourism, which refer to the individualism and pragmatism, endorsing that the segmentation is still based on too reductionist perspectives. In this effort to question the segment, the text is left open, mobilizing other inquires and propositions of new arrangements within the Tourism – Discourse Analysis interface.

With the major changes that have occurred in rural areas, it was necessary to develop new non-agricultural activities to increase rural household incomes. As a parallel activity, tourism in rural areas has been helping rural families in increasing their income and diversifying their activities. Starting from this premise, we conducted a comparative study of tourism in the rural regional development councils (COREDEs) of Campos de Cima da Serra and Fronteira Oeste, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The survey was divided into two stages. The first was exploratory, assessing the number of active farms which received tourists. On the second stage, all these properties were visited for the application of a questionnaire with open and closed questions. Data were collected in 20 rural properties in December 2013 and January 2014. Te aim of this study was to identify and compare the potential of rural properties to the development of tourism in rural space as a cost-effective alternative, differentiate the farms practising agritourism from those practicing rural tourism in both regions, and establish the profile of the generation of employment and income in primary and tertiary sectors. Among the findings, it was identified that 95% of the owners started the tourist activity to increase family incomes. Agritourism is the most practiced in both regions, with 55 of the properties. Tourism-generated jobs are mostly temporary jobs.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe regionalization of tourism, adopted by the Ministry of Tourism as the activity’s development national policy, presents operational guidelines to direct its implementation. The present work has as its main goal to analyze aspects of the sustainability of touristic territories, inside those Tourism Regionalization Program operational steps, from the perspective of the concept of arrangement. First, it is presented an alignment of the sustainability subject and the concept of arrangement, developed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. This lining up initial step allows the identification of procedural, problematizational and technical aspects as potential criteria for analysis in the Regionalization Program’s documents. Those documents consist of nine operational modules and one conceptual material about sustainability. In that sense, methodologically speaking, the research can be classified as applied regarding its purpose and exploratory regarding its objectives. The data used are secondary and were collected through literature and document search. The data analysis techniques are predominantly qualitative, focusing on content analysis and its thematic and enunciation techniques. The results of this reasearch show, on one hand, that the regionalization of tourism is a promising proposal when it suggests grouping similar territories as a way of encouraging municipalities to achieve greater success in tourism. On the other hand, however, it implies that the application of this process in the manner suggested by the Ministry of Tourism, through the operational modules of Regionalization Program, lacks maturity with regard mainly to the adoption of innovative and creative planning and management techniques which, considering the different realities of the national territory, can stimulate the power of action of the territories.

With competition from private institutions of higher education and the pursuit of attracting students to enroll in their hospitality courses, a teaching laboratory as a hotel- school would be an attraction for students, influence on the competitiveness of hospitality courses in Brazil? Thus, it sought to analyze the use of the hotels - school by private higher education institutions offering hospitality courses in Brazil as a tool to enhance their competitiveness. Thus it turned out all hospitality higher education institutions in Brazil and analyzed the private courses of bachelor hospitality and existing technology in the country, those with school -hotel and those without and the competitiveness of the above. For this they used indicators such as the assessment by the Institutional Concept made by MEC to evaluate the institutions and evaluation Star performed by Student's Guide to review the courses. The research method that we chose to use is the exploratory quantitative nature and as secondary data collection instrument was used bibliographical and documentary research. Thus was obtained as a result of this research among the best institutions assessed by the Institutional Concept is the University Nove - Uninove in Sao Paulo with maximum grade five , which has no hotel school , followed with four note presents the Faculty of SENAC Minas technology where there is hotel- school. Already the students guide the hospitality courses punctuated with five stars are the SENAC (SP) with two hotels - school, Castelli (RS) and the Anhembi Morumbi (SP) . We conclude that the scores of these two indicators, the courses that stood out and have school - hotels may have thus a critical tool for success and be competitive in the education market. However , not all of which feature hotel-school were the highest scorers with it was observed that for these ratings do not make much difference whether or not a hotel - school as the hotel - school does not have a high weight in the point spread.
