As a major tourist city in China, Shanghai's tourism industry generates a great deal of carbon emissions. However, China is now actively practicing measures to reduce carbon emissions in order to protect the environment. Therefore, it is particularly important to measure Shanghai tourism carbon footprint. The results of this study can help characterize the carbon emission of Shanghai's tourist industry, so that the government can better improve Shanghai's tourism - based on its characteristics and reduce the carbon emissions in a more effective manner, which can better respond to the national and global low-carbon trend. This research utilizes the "from bottom to up" approach, collects data from Shanghai's tourism final consumption, measures the sub-industrys carbon footprint using the carbon emission coefficients, and then performs a superposition calculation to determine the characteristics of Shanghai's overall tourism and sub-industry carbon footprint, and the composition of carbon footprint in transportation. It shows following problems: the national environmental protection awareness has not yet been formed, and the tourism's related technologies and service facilities have not been able to guide tourists to reduce carbon emissions. In view of the characteristics and problems, this paper puts forward three suggestions, including the innovation of tourism-related technologies, the transformation of tourism service facilities and the enhancement of national low-carbon awareness.

The interconnection of tourism and transport activity is present at all levels of development of society and economy. The occurrence of rail, then car and plane has led to the transformation of tourism from an individual into a mass phenomenon. The general economic expansion, the rise in living standards, and especially the rapid development of tourism in the 20th century, have had a significant impact on the overall transport system, and especially on change of means of transport. The sudden development of motor vehicles is the beginning of the The Second Transportation Revolution, and at the same time other revolutions in tourism. Tourism is the sector that records the highest growth in the world economy. The aim of this paper is to examine the analysis of interconnections and relations between transport and tourism industry. Tourism and transport are interconnected phenomena, where all major epochs in the development of transport becoming the turning points in the development of tourism. Transportation is an integral part of the tourism industry since it connects tourists with various tourist attractions. In most countries, the development of tourism depends on the development of the transportation system. The promotion and development of tourism depends directly on the development of the transport system (road, maritime, air, rail, river and PTT traffic), maintenance and construction of existing roads, construction and maintenance of railways and air traffic, as well as the construction of local airports and the improvement of flight operations. Serbia has relatively favorable natural and material conditions for the development of various types of traffic in accordance with the requirements of domestic and foreign tourists. Road traffic has a dual importance for tourism. First of all, it allows tourists to travel on vacation with certain advantages that consist of being able to go directly from home, at will, to choose the time of departure, the route and speed they will travel, and the choice of travel companions depends on them. One of the main reasons that led to massive use of cars for tourist purposes is their economic efficiency. The connection between tourism and transport is also evident in the fact that many roads that serve primarily for tourism are built. Air traffic has opened new destinations and tourist forms, such as long distance trips.

The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-2022, combined with the introduction of restrictive sanctions, had a strong impact on the mobility of the population, first of all, it concerns tourism. For a significant part of tourists who usually traveled abroad, there was a need to reorient to Russian resorts and other attractions within the country, which requires the active development of various tourism directions: from traditional routes to innovative niche formats (medical, industrial, stalking, etc. tourism). In recent years, tourism in Russia has become the preferred tool for the development of small, including single-industry cities, where it is possible to develop and strengthen the tourism services sector. Using tourism as a development tool is quite expensive. The state subsidizes the formation and improvement of infrastructure, but, in addition to financing, the development of tourism requires specific programs to increase tourist attractiveness. The unrecoverable costs are inevitably significant, and the results are unpredictable. The dilemmas associated with tourism financing are numerous and complex. This is especially true for tourist single-industry towns, which are difficult to fit into the available categories of state funding allocated for Russian single-industry towns (where the goal is to diversify the economy while maintaining employment in the city). The article examines the framework of state and municipal policy, which must be coordinated at all levels of government and provided with regional and federal support. Achieving this goal also requires clarifying the very concept of "tourist single-industry town" and the criteria for its definition.

Abstract Tourism is one of the consistent branches of the national economy, which can ensure some concrete results and a tailor-made contribution to the formation of the Gross Domestic Product. The tourism industry is also called invisible trade in the sense that, although it does not export goods and services, by practicing it, by developing it, it ensures consistent revenues to the state budget, but also ensures the possibility of increasing Gross Domestic Product. Analysing the current situation of the health and economic-financial crisis, it is found that in 2020 HoReCa, the tourism industry, complementary services have decreased alarmingly. Against this background, tourism has reduced its contribution to the formation of the Gross Domestic Product, which can lead to an even greater decrease. Investments in tourism are eroding. There is no possibility of refinancing despite support measures provided by the authorities. We say in spite of some measures granted because the postponement of some payments, the postponement of some credits, the transition to technical unemployment and others will be coupled later with other measures with almost devastating effect for the Romanian economy. Thus, many jobs will be lost. On the other hand, tourism companies will not be able to move from technical unemployment to normal activity and give a minimum of six months to those in this situation. The tourist market practically does not exist because there are only sequential possibilities in which it takes place, but especially under the rule of business activities, which are also considered tourist activities. The tourist activity materialized through arrivals, overnight stays, arrivals and departures has decreased steadily and this result mainly from the data subject to the study we mentioned. It is necessary to interpret these data and possibly find ways to recover.

Subsequently, tourist satisfaction is highly influenced by the attraction and halal products and services. Thus, this analysis implies that destination innovation and tourist concern for the environment are critical variables for the sustainable development of halal tourism.

The rapid growth of India's tourism industry is affected by several factors, including the country's high economic growth rate over the past decade and the fact that it is now one of the more affordable destinations for foreign tourists. Additionally, several significant challenges are associated with developing the Indian tourism industry. To address these challenges and ensure that India's tourism industry continues to increase in the years to come, the government has introduced several new tourism policies aimed at improving the infrastructure available in the country and making it easier for tourists to come and visit. These policies include introducing a dedicated high-speed rail link between Delhi and Mumbai, developing a new visa policy for foreign visitors, and simplifying the process for acquiring permits for filming or photography in popular tourist attractions nationwide. Overall, these policies represent a significant step in developing the Indian tourism industry and will go a long way towards guaranteeing that the country remains a popular destination for tourists worldwide for many years; this study focused on it deeply based on earlier investigations.

The authors believe that industrial tourism can help Siberian single-industry towns to overcome the crisis scenario. This research covered the regions of Altai, Kemerovo, Khakassia, and Irkutsk. The sampling relied on official tourist portals and independent sites where single-industry towns promote themselves as tourist and recreational places. Digitization effectively permeates every industry in this era of globalization and world change. The tourism industry is no exception, where elements of digitization and digitization are used and involved. As a result of the integration of technologies in the tourism industry, such a concept as "virtual or digital tourism" will appear. This is a modern full-fledged type of tourism, which is popular among all audiences of visitors. The phenomenon of virtualization is becoming relevant because the consumer of the service and the tourist service itself are changing, and it is becoming flexible to such visitors as inclusive tourists. But the formation of the service is influenced by other factors of world globalization - the development of technologies, psychological factors of the visitor's perception of the service. Virtual tourism, as a separate type of tourism, does not limit visitors either in movements, not in time, or in space. Therefore, virtual tourism is gaining momentum and popularity among all audiences of consumers of tourist services in the virtual world. One of its functions is as a prelude to a real trip. However, for the audience of inclusive tourists, it is a full-price and affordable replacement for traveling in physical space. But such tourists can apply for the definition category - "virtual tourist".

The contribution of tourism to a country’s economy is determined by country risk measures such as economic, financial and political risk. This study aimed to investigate short and long-run effects of country risk factors on international tourist arrivals and tourism revenue for the South African tourism industry. The sample period consists of monthly time series data of tourist arrivals, tourism revenue, and country risk factors from January 2004 to December 2018. Data was analysed using the Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and non-linear ARDL (NARDL) models. The findings showed that the long-run effects of country risk factors on tourist arrivals and revenue are asymmetric. Economic, financial, and political measures of country risk negatively affect tourist arrivals, however, tourism revenue responds differently to changes in these risk factors. Political risk has the highest effect on the tourism industry compared to economic and financial risk factors. Overall, this study established that both international tourist arrivals and tourism revenue are threatened by financial shocks indicating that an unconducive financial environment has long-term negative implications on the South African tourism industry.
