Objectives: To determine preferences and perceptions of medical studentsabout teaching strategies in basic sciences years. Study design: Mixed method study. Placeand Duration: Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College, Sialkot, from March 2014 toJuly, 2014. Methodology: A total of 77 medical students of 3rd year MBBS were selectedthrough non-probability convenient sampling for this study. A questionnaire to know abouttheir preferences and comments about teaching strategies was distributed to the students.A focus group discussion was also carried out to know in depth opinion of students aboutdifferent teaching strategies. Results: Mean age of the medical students was 22.75 ± 1.05years. Twenty one (27.3%) participants were males and 56 (72.7%) females. Out of 77 students,22 preferred interactive lectures; 16, small group discussion; 20 problem based learning, 10preferred demonstration on models. Only 01 students preferred one-way lecture as the bestteaching methodology.More female students (30.3% vs 23.8%) preferred interactive lecturesand more male (28.6% vs 17.8%) students preferred small group discussion as their teachingstrategies. Conclusion: Majority preferred interactive lectures (28.57%) and problem basedlearning (25.98%) as teaching strategies. Aligning our teaching strategies with preferences ofthe medical students will improve learning and academics.

This paper deals with the politeness strategies potential in subject specific fields and highlights the role of learning politeness strategies as a powerful cognitive tool fundamental to further enhancing the second language learner’s ability to cope with this specialized verbal characteristic in hospitality industry discourse. The paper explores the close interplay between social (extra-linguistic) and structural (linguistic) factors shaping the linguistic idiosyncrasies of English and Macedonian politeness strategies in hospitality industry discourse. It has been argued that the awareness of cross-cultural differences concerning politeness strategies may be exploited as a valuable teaching resource for classroom interaction.

A new quality of learning and teaching in general, is an absolute priority for education. The teachers are not only sources of information, they are also meant to lead managers and teaching so as to develop the interaction among students and training/development of key social personality traits. The students want to understand natural phenomena, to know scientific truths and to acquire knowledge to be applied in practice and for these reasons they are dissatisfied by the traditional education. The teachers and students, in most universities that have used the traditional lecture in courses, have revealed the limited effectiveness in both teaching and learning. The teacher must use methods to encourage discovery learning, heuristic and research methods. Dynamic and communicative teaching methods, also called interactive teaching methods, constitute the basic elements of a recently developed process to motivate learning, so that the students and future engineers develop a critical position about the taught content. Using interactive techniques and strategies, the students become more engaged in learning; retain more information, thus becoming more satisfied.

One of the important aspects that need to be considered in the process of instruction is teaching strategies. Hence determining appropriate teaching strategies can improve learning outcomes well. The objective of this research is to know and to describe the strategies of teaching English speaking. It was conducted at Tunas Unggul Junior High School Bandung and used qualitative descriptive method. The data was collected through interview, questionnaire, observation, and documentation. The research found that the teaching English speaking strategies used by the school have been widely influence by communication and students-center strategies. This measure taken has given much beneficial impact to all parties, particularly teachers and students for their English speaking development. Therefore, in teaching speaking, it is important for everyone, particularly educator to develop their teaching strategies which meets to the students need.

Accrediting organizations and regulations have compelled teacher preparation programs to establish partnerships with PK-12 schools to produce quality educators by utilizing effective teaching approaches such as co-teaching. The study examined co-teaching survey completed in the middle of student teaching. Data was collected from cooperating teachers and student teachers at different grade levels. The survey assessed participants' use of co-teaching strategies and the number of planning hours in each week. Pearson Correlations measured the relationship among the co-teaching strategies and the relationship between the co-teaching strategies and planning time. Results suggest there were more correlations among the co-teaching strategies for elementary student teachers. Three relationships were found in the middle school cooperating teachers data. Additionally, no correlations were found between any co-teaching strategies from either high school cooperating teachers or student teachers. The amount of planning time was shown to have no significant differences between any of the co-teaching strategies.
