Streszczenie:
A power supply is an essential part of all electronic devices. A switching mode power supply is a light weight power solution for most modern electronic equipment. The high frequency transformer is the backbone of modern switched mode power supplies. The skin effect and proximity effects are major problems in high frequency transformer design, because of induced eddy currents. These effects can result in transformers being destroyed and losing their power transferring function at high frequencies. Therefore, eddy currents are unwanted currents in high frequency transformers. Leakage inductance and the unbalanced magnetic flux distribution are two further obstacles for the development of high frequency transformers. Winding structures of power transformers are also a critical part of transformer design and manufacture, especially for high frequency applications. A new planar transformer with a helical winding structure has been designed and can maintain the advantages of existing planar transformers and significantly reduce the eddy currents in the windings. The maximum eddy current density can be reduced to 27% of the density of the planar transformer with meander type winding structure and 33% of the density of the transformer with circular spiral winding structure at an operating frequency of 1MHz. The voltage ratio of the transformer with helical winding structure is effectively improved to 150% of the voltage ratio of the planar transformer with circular spiral coils. With the evenly distributed magnetic flux around the winding, the planar transformer with helical winding structure is excellent for high frequency switching mode power supplies in the 21st Century.

Streszczenie:
The effectiveness of an EMI filter is closely related to the impedance of the noise source. Due to the time-varying nature of the noise source impedance of an offline power supply, the measurement of it cannot be done using conventional impedance measuring methods. Two new methods, the insertion loss method and the signal injection method, are proposed to perform such a measurement. The insertion loss method utilizes the EMI emission as a signal source and derives the source impedance by measuring the emission attenuation caused by an inserted impedance. The signal injection method injects a signal to the power supply and measures the response. The insertion loss method is verified experimentally both for common mode and differential mode, The signal injection method for common mode source impedance measurement is experimentally verified. That for differential mode source impedance measurement requires a faster equipment and is not fully verified. An EMI filter is usually characterized in the manufacturer’s catalog by its attenuation in a standard system (50Ω source impedance and 50Ω load impedance). The effectiveness of the filter in a practical system may significantly deviate from the manufacturer’s data. To provide the users with practically useful information, a scheme to characterize the EMI filter, the impedance matrix approach is proposed. This approach takes parasitic effect into consideration and the parameters can be measured relatively easily. The approach is verified experimentally by applying a commercial EMI filter to a power supply and comparing the predicted attenuation with the measured one.

Streszczenie:
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) problems in switching power supplies have been traditionally treated with cut-and-try approaches. In recent years, advancement has been made to better understand the problems and minimize the cut-and-try portion of the design process. However, there are still phenomena difficult to explain in many practical design situations. Often, the problems may be solved by luck but many puzzles remain unsolved. If not fully understood, these puzzles are very likely to come back to haunt the designers. According to the conventional theory, there are two modes of noise: the Differential-Mode (DM) noise and the Common-Mode (CM) noise. Recently, a new noise-coupling mode called Non-Intrinsic Differential-Mode (NIDM) noise was uncovered accidentally in the process of explaining certain EMI filter action [1]. This phenomenon has never been thoroughly studied. The focus of the present thesis is to investigate the NIDM phenomenon and its implications to practical EMI filter design issues. The generation mechanism and basic characteristics of this phenomenon will be briefly reviewed, which is crucial to the understanding of the remaining parts of the research. Two essential diagnostic tools are introduced. One is the DM/CM noise separator and the other is the zero-span mode operation of a spectrum analyzer. The results of the investigation will be presented. The results will be presented using practical examples, which tie the phenomenon to filter design issues. In some examples, explanations are given to dispel the puzzles commonly encountered in the practice. A filter design procedure is suggested for off-line power supplies. This procedure incorporates the NIDM phenomenon into an existing design procedure. Only first-order and second-order filter topologies are included in the discussion.

Abstract: The study of high-voltage isolated DC/DC converters used to supply pulse modulators is presented on this dissertation. The Full Bridge topology was selected, focusing in problems caused by parasitic capacitances in the circuit. This characteristic, which appears sharply in high voltage transformers and in inductors of output filter, is highly undesirable when the circuit is operated in switching mode. These capacitances are handled using a soft commutation technique, where their stored energy are returned to the primary source in the end of each switching cycle, trying to get a low size, high efficiency and low heat dissipation in the converter. Moreover, a charging regulator circuit is used to ensure good pulse stability and avoid typical problems in the pulse modulators use, such as the backswing effect. The pulse modulator used as load for this converter operates with a supply voltage of 1kV, pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of 585Hz and consumes 2.1 kW. The converter input is supplied by a 280V unregulated DC bus

KTH is funding a project whose goal is to send a satellite into space. This project is called MIST (Miniature Student Satellite) which is assembled by a team of students at KTH. On the satellite there are experiments that are invented by other teams, in two of those experiments a power supply is required. This thesis is a technical investigation on how to design the power supply to both of those experiments, which are called SiC and Piezo LEGS. Piezo LEGS will investigate how their nanosized motors will behave and function in a space environment. SiC will investigate how their silicone carbide transistors will be affected by the space environment. A team made of four other students was selected to produce SiC experiments and a PCB in which this work is included. A literature study was done to get a better understanding of how power supplies work and to know how to select a good power supply. When the power supplies were selected they were simulated to meet the requirements. The next step was to do a Printed Circuit Board(PCB) for the SiC experiment and Piezo LEGS to be able to test the power supplies functionality in the physical world. Both of the converters reached the required output and characteristics working on their respective PCB. More time is needed for long time testing and optimization on the PCB layouts.

A switching power supply to drive magnetrons for microwave heating has been designed, prototyped and tested. The magnetron has an rf power output of 6000 watts and requires a DC voltage of 7200 volts at a current of approximately 1.1 amps for a power input to the magnetron of 8000 watts. Six magnetrons are to be connected per railway tanker for heating the tankers at a railway terminus. The power supply has been designed for small size, efficiency and reliability. Current technology has been used. Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT) and power MOSFETs, both of moderately high current and voltage ratings, have been used at 25 kHz and 50 kHz switching frequencies respectively. MOSFETs of 20 amps and 500 volts and IGBT's of 40 amps and 600 volts ratings have been used. Ferrites for use at high switching frequencies have been used for transformers and iron powder material has been used for energy storage inductors. High quality insulating materials have been used to achieve the high voltage insulation requirements. Kapton, PTFE, mylar and nylon have been used where appropriate. Special features of the power supply include the power factor correction first stage, the use of the higher than normal leakage inductance of the power converter second stage transformer to make a resonant converter and the ripple cancelling effect of the series connection of the units on each phase. The power factor correction meets I EC 555 and AS2279 standards for harmonic content on the power supply source. The resonant converter yields zero load current switching of the converter transistors. The output 100 Hz ripple on the 7200 volt supply is negligible because of the series connection of the three outputs.

Streszczenie:
While a lot of time and resources have been placed into transceiver design, due to the pace of a conventional engineering design process, the design of a power amplifier is often completed using scattered resources; and not always in a methodological manner, and frequently even by an iterative trial and error process. In this thesis, a research question is posed which enables for the investigation of the possibility of streamlining the design flow for power amplifiers. After thorough theoretical investigation of existing power amplifier design methods and modelling, inductors inevitably used in power amplifier design were identified as a major drawback to efficient design, even when examples of inductors are packaged in design HIT-Kits. The main contribution of this research is engineering of an inductor design process, which in-effect contributes towards enhancing conventional power amplifiers. This inductance search algorithm finds the highest quality factor configuration of a single-layer square spiral inductor within certain tolerance using formulae for inductance and inductor parasitics of traditional single-π inductor model. Further contribution of this research is a set of algorithms for the complete design of switch-mode (Class-E and Class-F) power amplifiers and their output matching networks. These algorithms make use of classic deterministic design equations so that values of parasitic components can be calculated given input parameters, including required output power, centre frequency, supply voltage, and choice of class of operation. The hypothesis was satisfied for SiGe BiCMOS S35 process from Austriamicrosystems (AMS). Several metal-3 and thick-metal inductors were designed using the abovementioned algorithm and compared with experimental results provided by AMS. Correspondence was established between designed, experimental and EM simulation results, enabling qualification of inductors other than those with experimental results available from AMS by means of EM simulations with average relative errors of 3.7% for inductors and 21% for the Q factor at its peak frequency. For a wide range of inductors, Q-factors of 10 and more were readily experienced. Furthermore, simulations were performed for number of Class-E and Class-F amplifier configurations with HBTs with ft greater than 60 GHz and total emitter area of 96 μm² as driving transistors to complete the hypothesis testing. For the complete PA system design (including inductors), simulations showed that switch-mode power amplifiers for 50 Ω load at 2.4 GHz centre frequency can be designed using the streamlined method of this research for the output power of about 6 dB less than aimed. This power loss was expected, since it can be attributed to non-ideal properties of the driving transistor and Q-factor limitations of the integrated inductors, assumptions which the computations of the routine were based on. Although these results were obtained for a single micro-process, it was further speculated that outcome of this research has a general contribution, since streamlined method can be used with a much wider range of CMOS and BiCMOS processes, when low-gigahertz operating power amplifiers are needed. This theory was confirmed by means of simulation and fabrication in 180 nm BiCMOS process from IBM, results of which were also presented. The work presented here, was combined with algorithms for SPICE netlist extraction and the spiral inductor layout extraction (CIF and GDSII formats). This secondary research outcome further contributed to the completeness of the design flow. All the above features showed that the routine developed here is substantially better than cut-and-try methods for design of power amplifiers found in the existing body of knowledge.

Streszczenie:
Even though there had been extensive research in Switching Mode Power Amplifier design their applications at industry level are quite limited. This is because a Fully-Integrated Switching Mode Power Amplifier using conventional active devices such as Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJT) or Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) is challenging due to the inherent design challenges in the Switching Power Amplifier design. A Fully-Integrated Differential Class-F2,3 Power Amplifier design is explored for this Thesis research. This Power Amplifier has a maximum theoretical efficiency of 90.7% but this value is reduced because of the switching nature of the active device, parasitic effects associated with layout and the quality factor of the passive components used. Waveform shaping required for a Class-F Power Amplifier is done using the stray inductances within a non-ideal transformer instead of individual inductors. This techniques effective reduces the foot prints of two inductors for the tuning network design and make a Fully-Integrated solution more practical.

Streszczenie:
The design of power electronic systems requires wide ranging expertise in complex and often tedious tasks, such as the design of the power circuit, selection of power semiconductor devices, design of the feedback loop, design of wound components, and design for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). Many of the tasks rely heavily on the experience of the designer, and cannot be solved analytically. This makes the design iterative, time consuming, and heavily dependent on the designer's experience. At present, circuit simulation packages such as SPICE or SABER are used to test a design in software. Even with these tools, it is still necessary to build a prototype to verify the design, usually followed by several test-modify-retest cycles before a final design is reached. This process involves considerable decision making, which requires substantial expertise in all aspects of power electronics. This thesis investigates the use of expert system technology, one of many artificial intelligence techniques, to assist in the design of power electronic systems. Faster design times and a more efficient design are among the advantages that can be achieved using an expert system based design. In this study, Switched Mode Power Supplies have been chosen as a typical power electronic system. An expert system (developed using wxCLIPS) has been linked with a circuit simulator (SPICE), extensive databases and a graphical display system to provide a comprehensive design environment. The techniques used in the system cover all facets of the design: preliminary circuit design, component selection, circuit simulation, control loop design, and design for EMC. Extensive knowledge bases covering the various design rules are built into the expert system. The design methodology aims to give a near complete system design with an optimum configuration produced at minimum time and cost. The investigated techniques could readily be adapted to other power electronic applications, such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies and motor drives.

Modern telemetry systems using state of the art field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and signal processing components require lower voltage supplies to support various CMOS core geometries while still needing multiple higher voltage rails to support legacy interfaces. Addressing these power supply requirements efficiently requires switching power supply topologies that if left unchecked can generate high input surge currents and high levels of detrimental noise for both the sensitive analog signal processing circuitry and the power supply input source. This paper focuses on the design considerations and tradeoffs associated with implementing an efficient telemetry encoder power supply while mitigating the resulting noise effects typically associated with switching power supplies. This noise can negatively affect the power supply input source and the linear signal processing circuitry within the telemetry encoder.

This thesis demonstrates power switches to be used in our new Asymmetric Multilevel Outphasing (AMO) transmitter architecture at mm-wave frequencies. The AMO topology breaks the linearity vs. efficiency design objective in radio frequency power amplifiers (PAs) which has until now appeared to be fundamental. These power switches allow for the modulation of the PA supply rail between four discrete levels at a maximum sampling rate of 2 GHz. This modulation results in a higher average system efficiency by reducing the outphasing angle between the phase paths. This work was designed in a 130-nm SiGe BiCMOS process.

Streszczenie:
The application of the sliding mode control in power converters has a well-known inconvenient from the practical point of view, which is to obtain fixed switching frequency implementations. This thesis deals with the development of a hysteresis band controller in charge of fixing the switching frequency of a sliding motion in power electronics applications. The proposed control measures the switching period of the control signal and modifies the hysteresis band of the comparator in order to regulate the switching frequency of the sliding motion. The proposed structure becomes in an additional control loop aside from main control loop implementing the sliding mode controller. In the first part of the thesis, the switching frequency control system is modelled and a design criteria for the control parameters are derived for guaranteeing closed loop stability, under different approaches and taking into account the most expectable working scenarios. In the second part of the thesis, the proposed strategies are applied to several power converters prototypes. Specifically, DC-to-DC and DC-to-AC power converters are built and the experimental results are shown. In this part, the strategies used for implementing the controllers are also deeply discussed.

It is well known that common-mode (CM) conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) is caused by the common-mode current flowing through the parasitic capacitance of transistors, diodes, and transformers to ground in the power circuit. Because of the potential for interference with other systems as well as governmental regulations, it is necessary to attenuate this noise. Ordinarily this must be accomplished by using a magnetic choke on the input power lines, which can result in large penalties to the overall size, weight, and cost of the completed system. In order to lessen the requirement for this magnetic choke, there has been in recent years a desire to introduce noise cancellation techniques to the area of EMI. This text introduces a method of canceling the common-mode EMI by using a compensating transformer winding and a capacitor. Compared with active cancellation techniques, it is much simpler and requires no additional transistors and gate-drive circuitry since it merely adds a small copper winding and a small capacitor. By using this technique the size of the EMI filter can be reduced, especially for applications requiring high currents. In this thesis a survey of CM noise reduction techniques is presented, encompassing conventional and active cancellation techniques. The new method for passive noise cancellation is presented, which is then applied to families of isolated DC/DC converters, non-isolated DC/DC converters, and DC/AC inverters and motor drives. The method, results, and ramifications of this technique are presented in order of appearance.

At the time of the design the maximum allowable operating frequency for an output power of between 200 and 250 watts was 100 kHz. Although a 600 kHz operating frequency could have been achieved, it would only be at a very low output power level. To maximise the current components available, a 210 watt 100 kHz direct-off-line switched-mode power supply was developed. The design presented can be used to power any compatible IBM XT/AT personal computer. The prototype was tested. An overall efficiency of 61% was achieved. The final prototype required 1 521 cm3 and weighed approximately 980 g, representing a power to volume ratio of 0.14 W/cm3 (2.26 W/inch3). Detailed procedures are also presented to help with the design and selection of the reactive components. Special design features include the half-bridge push-pull topology, MOSFETS as power switches, digital current limiting, primary power limiting, multiple outputs and fault counting to name but a few.

The objective of this thesis is to design and implement a ZVS switching mode power supply based on forward converter topology. The active clamp forward converter is one of the most popular converters using the active clamp technique. To compare with the transformer reset winding and passive RCD clamp circuit applied in conventional forward converter, the advantages of active clamp technique are including: lower voltage stress on the main power switch, the ability to switch at zero voltage, reduced EMI and duty cycle operation above 50%. The basic operation principle of the active clamp forward converter is described in this thesis, then the boost and buck-boost active clamp techniques are also introduced. Finally the implementation of a ZVS switching mode power supply base on active clamp forward converter with center-tapped topology is carried out, and the specifications of the prototype circuit are: input voltage 90∼135Vrms, output voltage VO=5V and rated output current IO=20A.

An investigation of the electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters design for the switching-mode power supply is proposed in this thesis. This begins with an introduction of the conducted interference caused from switching-transistors, transformers, rectifier diodes, during the switching process in a switching-mode power supply. It is followed by an examination to the design scheme and procedure of EMI filters in anticipation to solve such problems. A laboratory test has also been performed through the experimental analysis using a 250W switching-mode power supply and 80W converter. Test results have demonstrated the feasibility of the method for the mitigation of conducted electromagnetic interference.

Loosely coupled inductive power transfer system is designed to deliver power efficiently from a stationary primary source to one movable secondary load over relatively large air gap via magnetic coupling without wires and connectors. It has advantages of avoiding the dangers of sparking and the risk of electrical shocks. However, the research and development about this technology is quite limited at present in this country. Considering its potential development and applications in the future, it is vary worthy to study and explore the fundamental principle and design guideline of a noncontact switching mode DC power supply. The contributions of this thesis may be summarized as follows. First, three resonant frequencies, namely , and are obtained which can achieve minimum input volt-ampere capacity of the loosely coupled inductive power transfer system as well as maximum output power. Second, in order to analyze and design this system more efficiently, by assuming that the series resonant frequency is equal to the parallel resonant frequency, simple analytic formulas of and are obtained. Third, according to characteristics of different operation modes in AC output situation, output voltage or current can be controlled from the primary side of the transformer. Fourth, a simple design procedure and some analytic formulas are proposed to simplify the design process. Finally, a prototype is also constructed to verify the feasibility of the proposed theory.

This thesis studies the power factor correction(PFC)for AC/DC converter, the half-brideg series-paralle resonant converter and the single-stage active clamp converter. In power factor correction circuit the boost converter is operating at the boundary conduction mode. The boundary method is’nt suitable for high power applications because the inductor and switch peak current are twice theca input current peak value. A half-bridge series-parallel resonant converter operated at the inductive load is disussed. In this way the transistors turn on at zero voltage. Therefore the turn on switching loss is reduced and the circuit efficiency is improved. A single-stage converter has inherent gift of power factor correction when the first stage to help the switch turn on at zero voltage switching. For this reason high powerfactor, high effieiency, and low cost can be achieved in the adopted single-stage converter. Finally the experimental results are provided in this thesis to verify the effectiveness of the adoped converters.

This dissertation presents an interleaved ZVS switching mode power supply. The active clamp technology are used in the adopted zeta-flyback and the non-isolated boost converters. Active clamp circuit is connected in parallel with the primary side of the isolation transformer to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductor of isolated transformer and to limit the peak voltage stress of switching devices. Thus the ZVS turn-on feature of power switches can be achieved to alleviate the switching losses on the primary side of the isolation transformers. The zeta-flyback topology are adopted in the output side to share the output power. The non-isolated boost converter with the series-resonant circuits composed of the leakage inductors and resonant capacitors at the secondary side of transformer is presented to achieve the ZCS turn-off of rectifier diodes. Hence, the reverse-recovery problem can be removed. Moreover, the interleaved technology can not only increase the output power but also reduce the input/output ripple currents. The operation principles, design considerations are discussed. Finally, the simulation and measured results are presented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

Employing frequency modulation techniques for EMI reduction in switching converters was reported some years ago and the techniques have been gaining some momentum in actual product applications. There were different modulating schemes reported, including sine-wave modulation, triangular wave modulation, random modulation and bi-frequency modulation. However, the results reported were mostly focused on the mathematical analysis of the resulting EMI spectrum without much discussion on the side effects of the schemes on converter performances. In this thesis, these modulating schemes were reevaluated and compared. A hardware circuit to modulate the converter switching frequency was designed and built for the experiments. From the experiments, it’s observed that significant output voltage ripple can be caused by the modulating schemes. The transfer function between the output ripple and the modulating signal seems to follow the input-to-output (audio susceptibility) transfer function of a converter power stage but this has not been theoretically derived. The effects of feedback control loop gain on the output ripple are also discussed in the thesis.

The ISMPS is composed of an EMI filter, a power factor corrector (PFC), and a DC/DC converter. The DC/DC converter is constructed by phase-shifted full-bridge (FB) converter with zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) technique. The control strategy is designed to be capable of constant voltage (CV) mode and constant current (CC) modes, which are built by voltage-adjust control (VAC) and current-limit control (CLC). A linear regulator (LR) is installed at the output end to achieve adjustable output voltage/current, and good regulation. A small-signal modeling for describing the system is conducted. A compensation work has been made to stabilize the system performance. And also, a gain/phase analyzer HP-4194A is used to tune to reach the theoretical estimation. Finally, a design example of a 500W ZVS-PWM ISMPS is examined to assess the system performance with the specification of an output voltage 0-50V and an output current 0-10A. The MISMPS is composed of an EMI filter, a power factor corrector, a DC/DC converter, and a control system. The DC/DC converter is constructed by a phase-shifted full-bridge (PS-FB) converter with the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) technique. The control strategy is designed to be capable of constant voltage (CV) mode and constant current (CC) mode, which are built by the voltage-adjustment control (VAC) and the current-limit control (CLC). A linear regulator (LR) is installed at the output end of the MISMPS to achieve adjustable output voltage/current with good regulation. The voltage/current master-slave active current sharing technique is used to achieve a parallel strategy in the MISMPS. A complete small signal analysis for describing the transfer functions of the master and slave modules are derived. The mathematical analysis is conducted by the Matlab and Is-spice to explore the behavior of the MISMPS to in parallel operation. Finally, a design example for realizing a MISMPS with 2+1 modules of 3kW (single module’s output is 0~50V/20A) is conducted. Due to global climate warm up, the awareness of environmental energy-saving is rising. Designer has to focus on energy-saving criteria as design the power supply equipment. Moreover, the electronic products change into light, thin, and small, result in lifting up the quality control of material and production process. The raw material used in power supply product is complicated, caused many failure roots. Under the influence of various factor interaction, increasing the complexity relatively. It is difficult to find out the process root cause as any quality variation. This study collected SPS(Switching Power Supply)repair history records, including characteristics of product, process, and failure modes to find out the reason of failure. We used the Self Organizing Map to categorize the failure types, and Decision Tree algorithm to obtain the failure rules. We then inducted the Cause and Effect Analysis Charts for affected product’s material supply failure, manufacturing failure, and research/design failure. Finally, we proposed the solution of failure problems. The results showed that power supply equipment failure is not entirely caused by manufacturing process, on the contrary material and research/design are the major causes. We took the failure phenomenon that higher than risk value of 200 as an example, the main failure causes are blow-up, OCP no good, low power factors, poor effectiveness and high-pressure protection defect. Through the failure handling mode, the hit rate of failure mode is 71%, it proved that the failure handling mode is really could be a reference of failure prediction as design or trial production on power supply product. The intensity of the laser is controlled by adjusting the magnitude of the input laser diode current. Therefore, it is the purpose of this thesis to design a power supply with adjustable current for the laser. Through the architecture design of the power supply, the energy conversion efficiency is improved, the volume of the power supply module is reduced, and three sets of independent laser machines can be simultaneously provided with a stable and adjustable current source. In the system architecture of this thesis, a power factor correction circuit, a phase shift full bridge conversion circuit, and a buck converter are included. The boost power factor correction circuit uses a model UCC28180 control chip manufactured by Texas Instruments, with the input AC voltage range of 100 to 240 V and the output voltage to a phase-shifted full-bridge conversion circuit is DC 390 V. The phase-shifted full-bridge conversion circuit uses a model UCC3895 control chip manufactured by Texas Instruments, and uses a phase shift technique to achieve a zero voltage switching flexible technology. The PI controller in the buck is composed of an operational amplifier to form an analog controller, which can adjust a single independent output current between 21.6 and 32A.

This thesis presents the design and implement a high efficiency of low power consumption Flyback converter that designs Quasi-Resonant mode soft switching in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Discontinuous conduction mode transformer delivers the energy that uses inductor(L) and MOSFET’s Coss to generate resonant in MOSFET “ OFF ” status. That VDS will be reduced to low voltage (ZVS) (Even to 0V).The pulse width modulation (PWM) IC will sense the valley and turn on MOSFET in the lowest voltage valley point. This PWM IC (TEA1532) can use little components to design the Feedback control, over voltage protection (OVP), over current protection (OCP), over temperature protection (OTP) and over power protection (OPP). Finally, We will design a switching power supply with input voltage of 90Vac / 47Hz ~ 264Vac / 63Hz, Output voltage of 32Vdc and output current from Imin 0A to Imax 2.344 A ( 75W),efficiency of about 88% typical in 230Vac / 50Hz, Standby power of Pin = 0.45W @ 264Vac / 50Hz at no load that use in printer adapter and can match IEA ( International Energy Agency ) standard requirements. This thesis present a low switching loss and high efficiency green power.
