Streszczenie:
Recent modes of ventilatory support aim to facilitate weaning and minimise the physiological disadvantages of intermittent positive pressure ventilation (IPPV). Intermittent mandatory ventilation (IMV) allows the patient to breathe spontaneously in between ventilator breaths. Mandatory minute volume ventilation (MMV) ensures that the patient always receives a preset minute volume, made up of both spontaneous and ventilator breaths. Pressure supported (assisted) respiration is augmentation of a spontaneous breath up to a preset pressure level, and is different from ‘triggering’, which is a patient-initiated ventilator breath. Other modes or refinements of IPPV include high frequency ventilation, expiratory retard, differential lung ventilation, inversed ratio ventilation, ‘sighs’, varied inspiratory flow waveforms and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. While these techniques have useful applications in selective situations, IPPV remains the mainstay of managing respiratory failure for most patients.

Streszczenie:
Fluidelastic instability of loosely supported tubes, vibrating in a tube support plate (TSP)-inactive mode, is suspected to be one of the main causes of tube failure in some operating steam generators and heat exchangers. This paper presents a mathematical model for fluidelastic instability of loosely supported tubes exposed to nonuniform cross flow. The model incorporates all motion-dependent fluid forces based on the unsteady-flow theory. In the unstable region associated with a TSP-inactive mode, tube motion can be described by two linear models: TSP-inactive mode when tubes do not strike the TSP, and TSP-active mode when tubes do strike the TSP. The bilinear model (consisting of these linear models) presented here simulates the characteristics of fluidelastic instability of loosely supported tubes in stable and unstable regions associated with TSP-inactive modes. Analytical results obtained with the model are compared with published experimental data; they agree reasonably well. The prediction procedure presented for the fluidelastic instability response of loosely supported tubes is applicable to the stable and unstable regions of the TSP-inactive mode.

During 2017 support for Docker and Singularity containers was added to the Vac system, in addition to its long standing support for virtual machines. All three types of "logical machine" can now be run in parallel on the same pool of hypervisors, using container or virtual machine definitions published by experiments. We explain how CernVM-FS is provided to containers by the hypervisors, to avoid any need to operate the containers in privileged modes. Finally we describe how LHCb Docker containers use this model and have been used to validate the Vac implementation.

By employing the modeling method of flexible multi-body systems, the linear and nonlinear dynamic models of a rotating Euler-Bernoulli beam with a flexible support are established, in which the deformation is coupled with the overall motion resulting from the flexibility of the support. The flexural vibration equation in the linear coupling model can be linearly transformed into the classical model of a rotating beam with a flexible support. The nonlinear model is applicable to rotating beams with different flexible supports. Based on the nonlinear model, the global bifurcation behavior of the rotating beam with supports of different stiffnesses is investigated by applying assumed modes method, and the results including the critical rotary speeds, the diversely buckled-equilibria, and the bifurcation type are verified by the shooting method.

This thesis will report on mixed method research which examined secondary Support Teachers Learning Difficulties (STLDs) and their modes of operation in New South Wales (NSW) government schools, Australia. Four modes of operation were identified in the literature as consultancy, team teaching, in-class support and withdrawal. An additional area of other duties was also included to examine the time when STLDs were not functioning in the four identified modes of operation. NSW government policy is in keeping with the literature as it recommends that STLDs should spend the majority of their time in consultancy and team teaching while in class with a minimum of withdrawal of students from their main classrooms for individual or small group instruction. STLDs, however, did not appear to be functioning in the recommended way. A number of factors identified in the literature, which may influence the modes of operation, can be grouped under the heading of school culture thus this research involved the examination of the effects of school culture on the modes of operation with the aim of expanding our understanding of the functioning of STLDs and providing suggestions for improvement. The theoretical base of social constructionism has informed this research which included survey and case study methods. Case studies of the STLDs in three secondary schools led to the conclusion that, in conjunction with factors such as flexibility and commitment, the involvement of the STLD in a sub-culture of learning support may lead to functioning in the recommended modes of operation.

Streszczenie:
This thesis has two distinct research threads. One thread examines the effectiveness of technology support on the performance of focus groups. Unlike previous research, the work described in this thesis addresses the fundamental issue that groups are social systems, and that comprehensive measurement of the effectiveness of group activities requires assessment of both the task-oriented and social aspects of the group activity. In this research, four different communication modes are used to compare group effectiveness. The second research thread in this thesis is the use of Systems Thinking, and specifically Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), as the framework for inquiring into the effects of technology support on group effectiveness. The strategy in this thesis for developing and evaluating hypotheses extends the general descriptions and guidance in the literature on using SSM for hypothesis testing. Systems thinking also provides the basis for examining the prevailing ???profile deviation??? view that the better the fit between the group task and the technology support the greater the group performance. Using the six perspectives of fit developed by Venkatraman (1989), the most common GSS models and other models developed to examine Task-Technology Fit (TTF) are analysed. The results show that group performance models are most often tested from a ???profile deviation??? perspective and TTF models developed from a profile deviation perspective claim to have predictive and descriptive validity for assessing the level of group performance. To assess whether an SSM based approach can improve the predictive and/or descriptive analysis of the impact of technology support on group work, a field experiment was conducted at the Australian Defence Force Academy. Twenty focus groups of officer cadets assessed their military training program using a GSS in one of four communication modes. The results showed little predictive or descriptive support for the profile deviation perspective of TTF when measuring the group???s overall effectiveness, task effectiveness, participant satisfaction or group relations. The alternative ???gestalt??? perspective, operationalised in this research by using SSM, provided a more comprehensive approach to examining the effectiveness of technology support for group work.

Ellis, Bronwyn Wendy. "How teachers and parents perceive parent-teacher communication in resource-constrained primary school settings". Diss., University of Pretoria, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/2263/62915.

Streszczenie:
The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of parents’ and teachers’ perceptions of parent-teacher communication, its purpose and how it is implemented in resource-constrained school settings. I employed a collective case study design involving four cases, namely parents of Grade 3 learners, parents of Grade 6 learners, Grade 3 teachers and Grade 6 teachers. I followed a qualitative research approach in order to gain rich, contextual information that portrays the perceptions of the participants. I identified three primary schools to participate by combining purposeful and convenience sampling strategies, and purposefully selected 11 teachers and eight parents as participants. Eight semi-structured interviews and two focus group discussions were conducted to collect data. In addition, I relied on observation, field notes and a research diary. Following inductive thematic data analysis, I identified the following themes: general modes of parent-teacher communication, purposes of parent-teacher communication, role-players and their expectations, factors negatively impacting parent-teacher communication, and strategies to move towards effective parent-teacher communication. Findings of the study indicate that the participating schools utilised written communication, telephone contact and meetings in person to exchange information with parents, in support of learners’ performance. Children, School Management Teams and the Department of Basic Education were identified as additional important role-players in communication. However, the attitudes, behaviours and preferences of teachers and parents as well as resource-constrained contexts can negativity influence parent-teacher communication. On the other hand, more effective use of technology, the creation of more opportunities for open dialogue and the commitment of all role-players can potentially enhance regular two-way communication between parents and teachers.

In this dissertation, we propose an integrative model to disentangle the predictive power of transaction cost theory and resource based approach, in order to explain the probability of firms executing a support function in-house, or through contracting with external providers. We test the model in the context of logistic operatons of the larger retail firms in France. Overall results show that both theories provide complementary explanations for the probability of firms organizing their logistics in-house or through external providers. The results also show the importance of the comparative advantages, in terms of both costs and competencies, between service providers and clients. We also distinguish the criteria of asset specificity, asset specialization and contribution of the activity to the strategic advantage of the focal firm. External uncertainty seems to reinforce, by itself, the probability to keep an activity in-house, in opposition to a vision which recommends using outsourcing as a flexibility device

Streszczenie:
This dissertation presents a sampling-based method that can be used for uncertainty quantification and deterministic or probabilistic optimization. The objective is to simultaneously address several difficulties faced by classical techniques based on response values and their gradients. In particular, this research addresses issues with discontinuous and binary (pass or fail) responses, and multiple failure modes. All methods in this research are developed with the aim of addressing problems that have limited data due to high cost of computation or experiment, e.g. vehicle crashworthiness, fluid-structure interaction etc.The core idea of this research is to construct an explicit boundary separating allowable and unallowable behaviors, based on classification information of responses instead of their actual values. As a result, the proposed method is naturally suited to handle discontinuities and binary states. A machine learning technique referred to as support vector machines (SVMs) is used to construct the explicit boundaries. SVM boundaries can be highly nonlinear, which allows one to use a single SVM for representing multiple failure modes. One of the major concerns in the design and uncertainty quantification communities is to reduce computational costs. To address this issue, several adaptive sampling methods have been developed as part of this dissertation. Specific sampling methods have been developed for reliability assessment, deterministic optimization, and reliability-based design optimization. Adaptive sampling allows the construction of accurate SVMs with limited samples. However, like any approximation method, construction of SVM is subject to errors. A new method to quantify the prediction error of SVMs, based on probabilistic support vector machines (PSVMs) is also developed. It is used to provide a relatively conservative probability of failure to mitigate some of the adverse effects of an inaccurate SVM. In the context of reliability assessment, the proposed method is presented for uncertainties represented by random variables as well as spatially varying random fields. In order to validate the developed methods, analytical problems with known solutions are used. In addition, the approach is applied to some application problems, such as structural impact and tolerance optimization, to demonstrate its strengths in the context of discontinuous responses and multiple failure modes.

Streszczenie:
One of the inevitable negative effects of software evolution is design erosion. Refactoring is a technique that aims at counteracting this phenomenon by successively improving the design of software without changing its observable behaviour. Design erosion occurs also in the context of executable UML models, i.e. models that are detailed enough to be automatically compiled to executable applications. This thesis presents results of a study on applying refactoring to the area of maintenance of executable UML models. It contains an overview of recent approaches to UML model refactoring and to executable modelling, followed by identification of refactoring areas in models built in Telelogic TAU, a state-of-the art UML CASE tool. It proposes a systematic approach to specification of both executable UML model refactorings as well as associated bad smells in models. Additionally, it shows how refactorings can be implemented in Telelogic TAU.

AlKhatib, Hala. "E-government systems success and user acceptance in developing countries : the role of perceived support quality". Thesis, Brunel University, 2013. http://bura.brunel.ac.uk/handle/2438/7471.

Pełny tekst źródła
Streszczenie:
Electronic government (e-Government) projects create numerous benefits and opportunities for both governments and citizens worldwide. Accordingly, the increasing interest in e-Government raises the issue of how governments can increase citizen adoption and usage of their on-line services. The successful adoption of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), the explosive increase in Internet usage and the rapid development of e-commerce in private sectors have placed pressure on public organisations to interact electronically with citizens. Conversely, the success of e-Government does not depend only on the supplier side, but also on the demand side and the willingness to adopt the on-line service. The concept of e-Government was developed and implemented initially in industrialised countries. Consequently, it should not be assumed that this concept is automatically appropriate for developing countries. Thus far, e-Government still faces major challenges as it continues to expand in developing countries. Moreover, when introducing e-Government to developing nations, it is anticipated that more effort will be necessary than in developed countries. The objective of various e-Government initiatives has moved in the past decade towards establishing services offering greater accessibility for citizens. As a result, it is necessary to examine all possible factors to explain citizens' adoption and usage of such systems. Hence, numerous models of e-Government adoption and intention to use and their extensions have been proposed and applied to empirical studies. Obviously, e-Government has occurred due to the technological revolution following the diffusion of the Internet and the success of information systems (IS) in organisations and e-Commerce. However, regardless of their success within the general IS context, the models are limited in terms of considering the diversity of users; they tend to assume that all end-users are homogeneous. The end-users of e-Government systems are more diverse than e-Commerce, with comparisons of wider layers of user groups (for example, elderly and less well-educated people) who are more likely to encounter problems while interacting with e-Government systems. IS literature confirmed that users’ technical capabilities and management support are influenced by their technical knowledge and expertise. Therefore, this research argues that perceived support quality is a new way of looking at citizens’ adoption and usage in the e-Government system’s field and a major factor of e-Government system’s acceptance, particularly in developing countries. This study is the first to examine the roles of perceived support quality and support satisfaction in the context of government-to-citizen (G2C), and it aims to advance knowledge within the field of e-Government by revealing the roles of perceived support quality and satisfaction towards behaviour intention and usage in developing countries. The proposed model builds upon Wixom and Todd’s (2005) theoretical model, which, in turn, was based on the integration of DeLone and McLean model (1992) into the technology acceptance model (TAM). The strength of the integrated model lies in its ability to guide both IT design and predict usage behaviours towards the system under investigation, and assume the overall theoretical model to maintain validity in G2C settings. Thirteen hypotheses were formulated to test the proposed research model. Behaviour intention to use e-Government services was proposed as the dependent variable, while the independent variables were information quality; information satisfaction; system quality; system satisfaction; social influence; performance expectancy; effort expectancy; perceived support quality and support satisfaction. A quantitative approach was deemed best suited to test the proposed model. Using a survey method (i.e. paper-based and an on-line survey), a total of 1252 responses was collected; however, only 628 were analysed. To test the proposed e-Government model, the state of Kuwait was chosen as the application area and the official website of Kuwait Government On-line Services (KGOS) was selected, since it offers a number of services on-line. Elements were citizens who have had prior experience with the KGOS website, and the survey was conducted from 5th August to 10th October 2010. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was selected as the statistical analysis technique with the Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) software. A total of 40 percent of the variance among the factors of support satisfaction, system satisfaction, information quality, effort expectancy and performance expectancy was explained by behavioural intention to use an e-Government system. All hypotheses were supported except for one. The findings confirm the significance to the support quality perceived by citizens, and also provide insights into whether user satisfaction literature and TAMs should be integrated to explain citizens’ intention to use e-Government systems. Thus, in terms of the theoretical implications, this study highlights the significance of recognising theoretical relationships when performing empirical research in e-Government settings. Consequently, to capture both the technical aspects and the services provided on-line, a new variable was introduced and renamed ‘perceived support quality’. Additionally, the model offers managers a new perspective for dealing with e-Government adoption by signifying the importance of support quality perceived by citizens. The proposed model provides government decision-makers in developing countries with an appropriate approach to determining which factors require attention in order to reap the highest benefits from e-Governments’ projects. This suggests paying less attention to the social influence (SI) factor and consider instead improving the quality of on-line support citizens demand.

Streszczenie:
This paper presents modal dynamics of floating-platform-supported and monopile-supported offshore turbines, which are gaining attention for their ability to capture the immense wind resources available over coastal waters. Minimal dynamic loads and the absence of instability are imperative to the success of these turbines. Modal dynamics determine both loads and instabilities to a large extent, and therefore must always be analyzed. Also, to model the turbine, several aeroelastic computer codes require modes of the major components, e.g., the rotor blades and the rotor-nacelle support structure. To compute such modes, we used a recently developed finite-element code called BModes. The code provides coupled modes either for the rotating blades or for the support structure. A coupled mode implies presence of coupled flexural, axial, and torsion motions in a natural mode of vibration. In this paper, we use BModes to provide modes only for flexible towers, which carry head mass (rotor-nacelle subassembly modeled as a rigid body) and are mounted atop either a floating platform or a soil-supported monopile. The code accounts for the effects of hydrodynamic inertia, hydrostatic restoring, and mooring lines stiffness on the floating platform. It also accounts for the distributed hydrodynamic mass on the submerged part of the tower and for the elastic foundation surrounding the monopile. Results are obtained for three turbine configurations: land-based turbine, floating-platform-supported turbine, and monopile-supported turbine. Three foundation models are used for the monopile configuration. Results show that the hydrodynamic and elastic-foundation effects strongly influence the turbine modal dynamics.

Streszczenie:
In this study, we present an analysis and experiment on the fluid damping of a Steam Generator (SG) tube with one and several plate-type supports that are submerged under water. For the damping measurement, a short tube of 2.2 meters in length with one gap support as well as a long tube of up to 10 meters with 11 and 13 supports are used. To see a fluid effect through an analytical approach, Mulcahy’s theory on a tube with finite-length gap support and Pettigrew’s empirical correlation for SG design were reviewed. The theoretical model is good at predicting the fluid damping at the first mode in a low frequency range which is an inactive mode at the support, while the practical model is much better at the higher modes, which are active modes, rocking modes, at the support(s). Experimental results from the short length tube with single support shows good agreement with a previous measurement by other researchers. A theoretical model and empirical correlation are in good agreement. Our measurements from a longer tube with several supports are reasonable compared with the others. There is, however, a wide discrepancy between predictions by the two models. As compared with the whole measurements, the theoretical model seems to be a good guideline in a low frequency range, while an empirical model is relatively good guideline in a high frequency range. Based on the whole collected data, a new correlation modified from Pettigrew’s correlation is suggested.

Streszczenie:
Fretting wear of steam generator tubes due to vibration induced by fluid flow remains a serious problem in the nuclear industry. Azizian and Mureithi [1] have recently developed a hybrid friction model to simulate the friction behavior of tube-support interaction. However, identification of the model parameters remains unresolved. To identify the parameters of the friction model, the following quantities are required: contact forces (tangential force (friction) and normal force (impact)), the slip velocity and displacement in the contact region. Direct measurement of these quantities by using a steam generator tube interacting with its supports is difficult. To simplify the problem, a beam, clamped at one end and simply supported with consideration of friction effect at the other is used. The beam acts as a mechanical amplifier of the friction effects at the microscopic level. Using this simple setup, the contact forces, the sliding velocity and the displacement can be indirectly obtained from the beam’s vibration response measurements. A new method based on nonlinear modal analysis was developed to calculate the contact forces. This method is based on the modal superposition principle and Fourier series expansion. The nonlinear normal modes (NNMs) and the generalized coordinates (GCs) have been identified experimentally as functions of the excitation level, the frequency, the preload in the contact area, with and without lubrication. Three hypotheses and related analyses to identify the NNMs and GCs were tested; the analysis based on the harmonic balance method gives the best results for reconstructing the accelerometer signals with an error less than 2% for all excitation levels compared to more than 2% for other methods. The successful signal reconstruction makes it possible to accurately identify the parameters of the Dahl friction model. This is also the first step to identify the parameters of the hybrid friction model.

Streszczenie:
The accurate modeling of a rotor system is essential for effective design and troubleshooting in rotating machinery. The beam-type finite element (FE) may be inadequate for modeling a rotor or support structure with complex shapes. In addition, the isolated support impedance methods may be inaccurate for modeling the support structure that has modes that are highly coupled between bearings and directions at the bearing locations. The solid FE method is a good replacement of the beam FE and support impedance approaches. However, a drawback for this method is the significant amount of computation time required to obtain accurate solutions due to the large number of nodes in the solid FE analysis. The authors present an improved approach to analyze the coupled rotor-support dynamics, by modeling the rotor with solid elements and utilizing transfer functions (TFs) to represent the flexible support. A state-space model is then employed to perform general rotordynamic analyses. The solid FE rotor model includes the gyroscopic effects and the asymmetric and cross-coupled stiffness coefficients of the bearing. A series of rational TFs are used to simulate dynamic characteristics of the support structure, including the cross-coupling between degrees of freedom (DOFs). These TFs are derived by curve-fitting the frequency response functions (FRFs) of the solid FE support model at the bearing locations. The impact of the polynomial degree of the TF on the unbalance response analysis is discussed, and a general rule is proposed to select an adequate polynomial degree. To validate the proposed modeling approach, a comprehensive comparison among the complete solid FE rotor-support model and the solid FE rotor model with the TFs representing the flexible support (the reduced state-space model) are presented. Comparisons are made between natural frequencies, critical speeds, unbalance response, logarithmic decrement (log dec), and computation time. The results of these comparisons show that the reduced state-space rotor-support model provides a dynamically accurate approximation of the solid FE rotor-support model in terms of general rotordynamic analyses. Moreover, the computation time for the proposed modeling approach is reduced to 2.5 minutes, compared to 14 minutes for the complete solid FE modeling. The reduction of the computation time may vary with different number of DOFs of the rotor model and the support structure model. In addition, the modes up to 100,000 cpm are compared among the beam rotor with the solid FE support model, the solid FE rotor with the super-element support model, and the reduced state-space model. The results show that the reduced state-space model is more accurate in predicting high-frequency modes than the beam rotor-support and super-element support models. Further, the proposed approach with the state-space model is useful for applications in vibration control and active magnetic bearing (AMB) systems.

Streszczenie:
This report summarizes the results from the twelfth year of a national public opinion survey asking U.S. adults questions related to their views on federal transportation taxes. A nationally-representative sample of 2,516 respondents completed the online survey from February 5 to 23, 2021. The questions test public opinions about raising the federal gas tax rate, replacing the federal gas tax with a new mileage fee, and imposing a mileage fee just on commercial travel. In addition to asking directly about support for these tax options, the survey collected data on respondents’ views on the quality of their local transportation system, their priorities for federal transportation spending, their knowledge about gas taxes, their views on privacy and equity matters related to mileage fees, travel behavior, and standard sociodemographic variables. This large set of variables is used to identify personal characteristics and opinions correlated with support for the tax options. Key findings include that large majorities supported transportation improvements across modes and wanted to see the federal government work towards making the transportation system well maintained, safe, and equitable, as well as to reduce the system’s impact on climate change. Findings related to gas taxes include that only 2% of respondents knew that the federal gas tax rate had not been raised in more than 20 years, and 71% of respondents supported increasing the federal gas tax by 10 cents per gallon if the revenue would be dedicated to maintenance. With respect to mileage fees, roughly half of respondents supported some form of mileage fee, whether that was assessed on all travel or just on commercial travel, 62% believe that low-income drivers should pay a reduced mileage fee rate, and 52% think that electric vehicles should pay a lower rate than gas and diesel vehicles. The analysis of trends across the survey series, which has run from 2010 to 2011, shows that support for both higher gas taxes and a hypothetical new mileage fee has risen slowly but steadily, and Americans’ experience with COVID over the past year has not disrupted those trends. Finally, support for the tax and fee options varies mostly by most personal characteristics, but there are frequently large differences correlated with age, community type, and political affiliation.

Streszczenie:
Recent developments in transformative technologies hold the promise to provide holistic solutions for affordable transportation services to rural areas and thus greatly alleviate existing social inequality through efficient planning and management of complex transportation systems and systemwide interactions among multiple modes. To realize the promise, many challenging research questions need to be addressed, which often leads to computationally intractable, large-scale, dynamic/stochastic, discrete optimization models. This project proposes to address some of the challenges by building a series of holistic and tractable models on the design of mobility services, capacity planning, dynamic matching, and routing, as well as pricing. The proposed project is expected to create a new series of planning and management models that can support strategical and operational decisions for large-scale autonomous and shared mobility systems in rural areas. The planned case study and simulation for the Village of Rantoul, Illinois, will lay the foundation for future field implementation.

Streszczenie:
Land cover type is a fundamental remote sensing-derived variable for terrain analysis and environmental mapping applications. The currently available products are produced only for a single season or a specific year. Some of these products have a coarse resolution and quickly become outdated, as land cover type can undergo significant change over a short time period. In order to enable on-demand generation of timely and accurate land cover type products, we developed a sensor-agnostic framework leveraging pre-trained machine learning models. We also generated land cover models for Sentinel-2 (20m) and Landsat 8 imagery (30m) using either a single date of imagery or two dates of imagery for mapping land cover type. The two-date model includes 11 land cover type classes, whereas the single-date model contains 6 classes. The models’ overall accuracies were 84% (Sentinel-2 single date), 82% (Sentinel-2 two date), and 86% (Landsat 8 two date) across the continental United States. The three different models were built into an ArcGIS Pro Python toolbox to enable a semi-automated workflow for end users to generate their own land cover type maps on demand. The toolboxes were built using parallel processing and image-splitting techniques to enable faster computation and for use on less-powerful machines.

Streszczenie:
Student-centered pedagogy has been widely advocated in many contexts with student active participation in learning being a central element. Vietnam has adopted innovative pedagogies including child-centered and competency-based teaching to further active learning and develop students’ full potential. This study explores Vietnamese teachers’ views about student participation and teaching roles as they implement these progressive reforms. It also examines pedagogical practices that teachers planned to use and actually employed to support student learning through meaningful participation. Drawing on qualitative analysis of interviews and classroom observations conducted over three years with 47 secondary-level literature teachers throughout Vietnam, we found that student participation as expected by teachers broadly falls into three categories: participation as attention; participation as contribution and collaboration; and participation as autonomy and engagement. Each of these modes characterizes what teachers’ envision of students’ overall engagement, but these modes coexisted in the data in classroom practices. Our analysis shows how ‘hybrid pedagogy,’ a mix of teacher-directed and student-centered approaches, was most used to support students’ active contribution and collaboration. This research contributes to the literature on student-centered learning and student participation in transitional contexts, highlighting the complex processes of how teachers perceive and enact these pedagogical reforms.
