ABSTRACT The genus Bostryx Troschel, 1847 is endemic to South America, extending from Ecuador to Chile and Argentina. The southernmost Argentinian species of the genus that inhabit San Luis, San Juan and Mendoza provinces, specially the pre-Andes, Andes and Sierras Pampeanas mountain ranges, were examined. This is the first time the anatomy of Bostryx pastorei (Holmberg, 1912), Bostryx reedi (Parodiz, 1947) and Bostryx strobeli (Parodiz, 1956) has been described.Bostryx cordillerae (Strobel, 1874) is re-described regarding shell and anatomy due to new morphological data. The main differences among the species examined are based on shell characters. The distribution ofBostryx mendozanus (Strobel, 1874) and Bostryx cuyanus (Pfeiffer, 1867), other species found in this region, was also discussed.

Streszczenie:

Esta pesquisa objetiva analisar, na obra autobiográfica O Grito da Gaivota, traços, elementos e/ou aspectos da cultura e da identidade surda, tendo em vista a necessidade de aprofundamento quanto à temática da surdez, assunto até então pouco conhecido e valorizado que leva os surdos a serem nomeados erroneamente e vistos, muitas vezes, com inferioridade. A pesquisa conta, como pressupostos teóricos, com trabalhos de Laraia (2005), Santana e Bergamo (2005), Strobel (2008), Perlin e Strobel (2014), Strobel (2016), entre outros. Quanto à metodologia, esta pesquisa classifica-se como documental, visto que recorre a fontes primárias; do tipo qualitativa, pois considera uma relação dinâmica entre o mundo real e o sujeito; e descritiva, com a finalidade de descrever e analisar a obra de acordo com o objetivo geral. Os achados da pesquisa evidenciaram a presença de artefatos culturais que possibilitam a construção da identidade surda da personagem Emmanuelle Laborit.

Following a previous study of stellar abundances (Pasinetti 1980), a relation has been derived between the DDO cyanogen-strength index and values of [Fe/H] reported in the catalog of Cayrel de Strobel, et al. (1980). From this relation we obtain [Fe/H] = 0.08 for the Hyades. This value is slightly lower than that given by Janes (1979), [Fe/H] = 0.13, and is in better agreement with other recent estimates of the Hyades metallicity (Cayrel de Strobel 1980). This improvement is due to the larger quantity of more precise spectroscopic data used in our correlation.

The blindstitch sewing machine are used for different sewing operations: hemming and felling operations, beltloop manufacturing, padding, spot tacking, blind stitching of double side/face seams. The web-sites of sewing equipment producers were analyzed to see the availability of blindstitch sewing machines in the world's market. 68 manufacturers from 143 researched companies produce one or more types of blindstitch sewing machines. The blindstitch machines of stitch 103 are manufactured the most often. The machines of stitch class 300 are developed for specific applications manufacturing men suits. The companies Strobel and Maier are most well known blindstitch machine manufacturers. The company Strobel has widest offer of class 300 blindstith machines. The company Maier produces sewing machines for industrially manufactured and tailored clothing, as well as, for manufacturing home and technical textile goods.

Este artigo aborda as relações de ensino e aprendizagem com crianças surdas na educação infantil realizada em uma Instituição de Educação Infantil do Município de Sinop, Mato Grosso. Com uma criança surda da turma da pré-escola, com 4 anos de idade e outra com 2 anos de idade do maternal. Teve como objetivo analisar as relações de ensino e aprendizagem construídas entre professor e aluno. A pesquisa foi de cunho qualitativo com observação participante e aplicação de um questionário de pesquisa semiestruturado. Os estudos teóricos foram embasados por Ronice Muller de Quadros e Karin Lilian Strobel. Conclui-se que as crianças surdas estando inseridas em espaço escolar mesmo que não sendo uma escola bilingue, ela aprende. The Strobel Plateau is a conspicuous and representative basaltic plateau (“meseta”) in the Patagonian steppe, Argentina. This plateau is dotted with more than 1500 shallow lakes, which are regularly used by waterbirds and support one of the main breeding populations of the near threatened Hooded Grebe (Podiceps gallardoi). We collected data on bird presence and abundance in 41 shallow lakes, covering a wide spectrum of the wetland environmental variability found in the area. We conducted six surveys from spring to fall between 2004 and 2006. We recorded a total of 18 waterbird species, which represent 5 different families. Anatidae was the family most represented with 12 species, accounting for 85% of the observed waterbirds. Waterbird distribution among lakes was variable, from 2.4% occupied lakes for Wilson’s Phalarope (Steganopus tricolor) and Andean Ruddy-Duck (Oxyura jamaicensis) to 80% for Black-necked Swan (Cygnus melanocorypha), and abundance varied greatly both between species and seasons. The Hooded Grebe, in particular, was recorded in 14 lakes (1–81 individuals). Six species were detected breeding in the area: Hooded Grebe, Silvery Grebe (Podiceps occipitalis), Flying Steamer-Duck (Tachyeres patachonicus), Crested Duck (Anas specularioides), Upland Goose (Chloephaga picta), and White-winged Coot (Fulica leucoptera). The Hooded Grebe nested at four lakes, three of them not previously known to hold breeding birds. Results point to the need of further studies on the dynamic nature of waterbird lake use to adequately assess the importance of the Strobel Plateau as waterbird habitat.

The ‘1996 Edition’ of the Catalogue of [Fe/H] determinations by Cayrel de Strobel et al. (1997, A&A S 124,1) and two recent papers by Castro et al. (1997, AJ Vol.114, N.1) and by Feltzing and Gustafsson (A&A in press) have made possible to increase in the theoretical HR diagram (log Teff, Mbol the number of SMR stars.The SMR Stars of this new enlarged sample had to have reliable absolute magnitudes, coming all from Hipparcos parallaxes, precise bolometric corrections, effective temperatures and metal abundances from high resolution detailed spectroscopic analyses.With the help of an appropriate grid of isochrones computed by Lebreton (1997, Perryman et al. A&A, in press), ‘turn-off ages’could then be attributed to the slightly evolved stars (subgiants) of the sample. The (log Teff, Mbol) diagram constituted by the new sample of SMR stars, shows that the conclusions in a former paper by Cayrel de Strobel (1987, A&AJ 8,141) remain valid: the SMR stars areold stars in spite of their higher than solar metallicity. The result, that metal-rich stars were in the mean old stars, was interpreted in the 1987 paper as due to a more chemical uniformity of the nowadays interstellar medium of the Galaxy with respect of the older much more active interstellar medium.

The article starts from the premises of Pierre Boulez’s works of the 1940s, in which the poems of René Char (Le soleil des eaux) and Stéphane Mallarmé (Un coup de dés) took centre stage. On closer inspection, they led to the creation of Polyphonie X. The focus of the article is on the one hand an unpublished letter in which Boulez criticises the ideologisation of Webern’s music by René Leibowitz and others, on the other hand Boulez’s close relationship with Heinrich Strobel, the head of the music department of Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden, who also commissioned Boulez to compose Polyphonie X. This work was performed in the composer’s absence on 6 October 1951, a world premiere that was plagued by tumult, and the regional press did not shy away from making anti-Semitic accusations about the work. Nevertheless, his friendship with Heinrich Strobel remained intact and even led to Boulez feeling so at home in Baden-Baden that he moved to Kapuzinerstraße in 1958. Another reason for making his home in Germany was his critique of the French cultural system headed by secretary of state André Malraux, and the treatment of the Algerians by the French government. Baden-Baden remained Boulez’s first and only permanent residence until his death on 6 January 2016: the personal, intellectual and artistic centre of this cosmopolitan.

Las clases de Pellegrino Strobel en la Universidad de Buenos Aires marcan el comienzo de la enseñanza de la geología en Argentina. En los años transcurridos se pueden reconocer seis etapas. La primera etapa pionera iniciada por Strobel en 1865, culmina con Eduardo Aguirre y transcurre desde 1878 a 1906. La segunda consolida la enseñanza con Enrique Hermitte, quien forma los primeros profesionales que sirvieron al país en diferentes disciplinas y dirige las tesis de los primeros egresados. La tercera marca el inicio de la investigación geológica liderada por Juan Keidel y Pablo Groeber. Produce un cambio en la enseñanza y en las investigaciones, con la tesis doctoral en 1933 de Horacio J. Harrington de excelente nivel científico. Harrington como director del Instituto de Geología de la universidad y como profesor fue uno de los mejores geólogos argentinos de la primera mitad del siglo XX. El golpe militar en 1955 marca el inicio de la cuarta etapa liderada por Félix González Bonorino y caracterizada por una educación más sólida en diferentes especialidades y un moderno plan de estudios. Tuvo docentes de calidad, con profesores formados en el exterior y extranjeros, que enseñaron disciplinas poco desarrolladas en el país. El período 1966-1983 fue marcado por su opacidad, con algunas excepciones como el desarrollo del paleomagnetismo por Daniel Valencio y sus discípulos. La última etapa comienza con la vuelta a la democracia, que junto a concursos docentes abiertos sin restricciones, permite alcanzar el presente grado de desarrollo.

Neste artigo, nosso objetivo é analisar a acessibilidade linguística no percurso escolar dos surdos para a compreensão dos desafios da educação deles no ensino superior. Foi utilizada uma abordagem metodológica qualitativa, analisada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com dois alunos surdos do curso de licenciatura em Letras, com habilitação em Libras, do Centro de Formação de Professores da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia – CFP/UFRB. Este artigo tem com objetivo compreender como se dá o trabalho do intérprete de LIBRAS na Escola Municipal Jurandir Liberino de Mesquita, em Sinop. A metodologia utilizada foi à pesquisa qualitativa com observação participante por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Während der Brief in der Alltagskommunikation unserer globalisierten Welt längst ersetzt worden ist durch elektronische Medien, gewinnt die Form epistolaren Schreibens heute immer klarere Konturen und wird in ihrer spezifischen Medialität und historischen Relevanz erkennbar. Die Geschichte des Briefes als einer der wesentlichen Ausdrucksformen neuzeitlicher Individualität ist inzwischen – zumindest in Ansätzen und kulturhistorischen Momentaufnahmen – untersucht worden. During the past 18 years, estimations of reserves of the Palm Valley gas field were the subject of many unpublished studies and one that was published in the Journal of Petroleum Technology by Strobel, Gulati and Ramey in 1976. The unpublished studies relied on standard methods of volumetric and material balance calculations. Because the Palm Valley reservoir is naturally fractured, static reservoir pressure estimates made from pressure buildup tests are erroneous unless a well is closed to a Horner time ratio of 1.5 or less. This was not done at Palm Valley and consequently all material balance estimates of gas-in-place were uneconomically low.The estimates of Stobel et al. (1976) were based on matching interference test data observed in two wells during a constant flow period of 18.75 days, which was followed by a pulse test. However, their model matched the pressure observed at one well and failed to match the pressure observed at the second, more distant well. Their reserve estimates were also very low.In this study, a reservoir simulator was used to formulate a model that matched the observed pressures in both wells. Except for the reservoir area, all of the reservoir parameters derived by Strobel from the interference test data were used. The results show that the Palm Valley reservoir contains between 262 and 356 billion standard cubic feet of gas-in-place in the fracture system and the higher permeability matrix rock. Based on our model and including gas in the tight matrix, it is quite possible that the total gas-in-place ranges between 726 billion standard cubic feet and 1.106 trillion standard cubic feet.

Este trabalho, de abordagem qualitativa, cuja metodologia utilizada é a revisão bibliográfica, analisa, a partir das funções identitária, relacional e ideacional (FAIRCLOUGH, 2008), o papel do discurso nos processos de constituição identitária do surdo, com base em autores como Strobel (2008), Perlin (2010), Skliar (2010), entre outros, que narram eventos históricos e discursivos que contribuíram para a construção da identidade surda desde a Antiguidade até a Pós-modernidade. Os resultados apontam que, historicamente, dois discursos se confrontaram, um referendado pelo ouvinte, que naturalizou uma representação identitária estigmatizada e estereotipada do surdo, e outro construído a partir do próprio surdo, que resultou na ressignificação da sua identidade.

Este artigo tem por objetivo contribuir com reflexões sobre o letramento e o processo de ensino da língua portuguesa para surdos, considerando o atual contexto da Educação Básica. A metodologia está embasada em pesquisa bibliográfica nos campos da filosofia da linguagem, letramento e educação de surdos, principalmente em Bakhtin (1988, 2003), Volóchinov (2006), Quadros e Schmiedt (2006), Strobel (2008), Lodi, Mélo e Fernandes (2014) e Nascimento et al (2021). O estudo aponta que é preciso considerar que a cultura das pessoas surdas se distingue da cultura das pessoas ouvintes e indica que o processo de letramento do surdo em português deve partir de um currículo que utilize metodologia visual, mediada pela língua de sinais.

Este trabajo presenta la primera información zooarqueológica sistemática para la meseta del Strobel. El registro óseo procede de excavaciones realizadas en estructuras de parapetos, sitios que exhiben una notable frecuencia en la región. El propósito de este trabajo es doble. En primer lugar, dado que la conservación ósea representa una problemática importante en la arqueología de la meseta, se busca distinguir, desde una perspectiva tafonómica, la existencia de sectores más y menos conservativos de evidencia ósea en el interior del área. En segundo lugar, se evalúan las estrategias de subsistencia implementadas en la meseta durante el Holoceno tardío para discutir la variabilidad en el manejo de la fauna. Los resultados obtenidos indican que, si bien la ocupación de la meseta exhibe un marcado carácter logístico y/o estacional, las estrategias implementadas se caracterizan por el desarrollo de alternativas múltiples y diferentes modalidades en relación con la utilización de los recursos faunísticos.

En mayo de 1740 los jesuitas Querini y Strobel fundaron la reducción “Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de los Indios Pampas”, en la desembocadura del río Salado, en la pampa argentina, iniciando así un ambicioso proyecto evangelizador destinado los grupos indígenas pampeano-patagónicos. A los pocos años, dicha reducción tuvo que trasladarse a un paraje cercano, donde se estableció hasta 1753. En este trabajo se presentan los resultados del análisis de la base documental recabada en el marco de las investigaciones arqueológicas que comenzamos en 1998, centrado en aspectos referidos al entorno geográfico de la reducción, su núcleo de población inicial, edificaciones y trazado, a la vez que se discute la información acerca de la localización actual de los dos asentamientos que consecutivamente la conformaron.

Abstract This previously unpublished essay by the late author argues that male biographers of Williams have been unfair in their accounts of the women in Williams’s life and counters claims commonly made in previous Williams biographies concerning the nature of Williams’s relationship with specific female friends. Williams’s relationship to his wife, Florence Williams is also seen to be built on mutual understanding and loyalty despite published claims of infidelity which are directly refuted here by focusing in detail on the nature of Williams’s relationships with, in particular, Evelyn Scott, Nancy Cunard, Myra Marini, Kathleen Hoagland, Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven and Marion Strobel. The use by Williams’s most recent biographer, Herbert Leibowitz, of poems as “biographical evidence” to support his claims is also countered through close readings of the same poems.

Different blindstitch machines are used in men suit industrial manufacturing process to replace traditional manual sewing techniques and ensure high work process productivity. The waistband of the trousers is felled with special machines of stitches 103. Beltloop machines process double-folded belt loops for trousers with or without inserted tape. To create 3D shape to lapels and collars of jacket padding machines are used. Spot tacking machines fix together two or more layers of fabric with stitches invisible on the face side of the garment. Machines for felling undercollars create V-shaped zig-zag stitches 314. Two kind of machines are used to fell the lining in the armhole and bottom of the sleeve. Blindstitch machines for certain technological operations are manufactured by companies: Strobel, Maier, Japsew, Global, others.

Objetivou-se analisar a visibilidade dada às línguas de sinais em políticas linguísticas a fim de conhecer o trajeto de gramatização e de valorização social. Por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, desenvolvida por intermédio de levantamento de referências teóricas, visou-se à compreensão sobre como línguas de sinais de sete países (França, Brasil, Estados Unidos da América, Portugal, Suécia, Japão e China) têm sido descritas em marcos legais. A pesquisa foi fundamentada em reflexões teóricas da História das Ideias Linguísticas – HIL – à luz das obras de Auroux (1992), Guimarães e Orlandi (2001), Fávero e Molina (2004), Nunes (2010) e Oliveira (2014). Em relação aos Estudos Surdos, analisaram-se as obras de Strobel (2013) e Perlin (2015). Dessa forma, compreendeu-se que leis, decretos e acordos legais, que envolvam a língua de sinais, podem colaborar com o percurso histórico e linguístico dessas línguas.

Desta forma, foi realizada uma análise das ações desenvolvidas pelos órgãos responsáveis, como a Secretaria de Estado da Educação e Prefeitura Municipal de Curitiba, para assim verificar se existe algum projeto relativo ao ensino da Língua Portuguesa escrita, tendo em vista que esta é de grande relevância na vida social da pessoa surda em todos os contextos, que necessitem de leitura e interpretação. O estudo destaca a importância de um repensar das políticas públicas nas ações de construção de escolas bilíngues para surdos com propostas pedagógicos voltadas para a realidade dos surdos. Das inúmeras nuances da educação bilíngue e do contexto Literário, enfatizam-se as pesquisas sobre a Literatura Surda ao longo dos últimos anos. Resultado este da identificação e autoafirmação do povo surdo que busca na divulgação da Literatura Surda a disseminação de suas formas de experimentações visuais. O presente artigo aborda a educação bilíngue mediante práticas desta literatura contribuindo para o processo de valorização da cultura e Identidade Surda mediante representações literárias produzidas por este sujeito. Para tanto, as pesquisas das autoras Karnopp (2008; 2010), Quadros e Sutton-Spence (2006) e Strobel (2009) são indispensáveis na fundamentação teórica deste escrito, pois, retratam o que há de mais avançado no campo teórico das experiências sensoriais da pessoa surda. Assim, a pesquisa desenvolvida busca contribuir para o enriquecimento do conhecimento dos alunos surdos sobre seu povo, sua cultura e construção identitária.

A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo compreender os aspectos linguísticos da Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) e a sua relação com o processo de tradução e interpretação, a qual se realiza por intermédio do profissional Tradutor-Interprete de Língua de Sinais (TILS). Ressaltamos que apesar da trajetória histórica deste profissional ter predominância prática, a tradução e interpretação começaram a ocupar espaços acadêmicos, com a exigência de acessibilidade assegurada pela legislação brasileira (BRASIL, 2002; 2005). Consequentemente, pressiona que este profissional aprofunde o seu conhecimento teórico na estrutura da LIBRAS. Assim, ancorados nos pressupostos da pesquisa qualitativa, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica e contamos com o apoio teórico de Lacerda (2010), Quadros (2004), Quadros e Karnopp (2004), Strobel e Fernandes (1998). A partir das reflexões em torno da temática referida consideramos que o TILS pode possibilitar o respeito à especificidade cultural e linguística das pessoas surdas.
