Recently, the use of different social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp have increased significantly. A vast number of static images and motion frame pictures posted on such platforms get stored in the device folder making it critical to identify the social network of the downloaded images in the android domain. This is a multimedia forensic job with major cyber security consequences and is said to be accomplished using unique traces contained in picture material (SNs). Therefore, this proposal has been endeavoured to construct a new framework called FusionNet to combine two well-established single shared Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to accelerate the search. Moreover, the FusionNet has been found to improve classification accuracy. Image searching is one of the challenging issues in the android domain besides being a time-consuming process. The goal of the proposed network's architecture and training is to enhance the forensic information included in the digital pictures shared on social media. Furthermore, several network designs for the categorization of WhatsApp pictures have been compared and this suggested method has shown better performance in the comparison. The proposed framework's overall performance was measured using the performance metrics.

Accurate box office forecasting models are developed by considering competition and word-of-mouth (WOM) effects in addition to screening-related information. Nationality, genre, ratings, and distributors of motion pictures running concurrently with the target motion picture are used to describe the competition, whereas the numbers of informative, positive, and negative mentions posted on social network services (SNS) are used to gauge the atmosphere spread by WOM. Among these candidate variables, only significant variables are selected by genetic algorithm (GA), based on which machine learning algorithms are trained to build forecasting models. The forecasts are combined to improve forecasting performance. Experimental results on the Korean film market show that the forecasting accuracy in early screening periods can be significantly improved by considering competition. In addition, WOM has a stronger influence on total box office forecasting. Considering both competition and WOM improves forecasting performance to a larger extent than when only one of them is considered.

This article advances research on external urban relations by drawing attention to the role of temporary project-based economic organisation in the formation of inter-firm links between cities. Through a novel empirical examination of (trans)national co-production in the motion picture industry, we reveal how such projects transcend the boundaries of individual production clusters and link urban centres within specific network configurations. Stripping away the ‘top layer’ of Hollywood’s commercially successful feature films, we undertake a social network analysis of film productions in four markets across three continents – China, Germany, France and Brazil – to provide a unique comparative analysis of networked urban geographies. Our findings show that film production networks are grounded in existing structural relations between cities. The spatial forms of these networks range from monocentric in the case of the French film market, to dyadic in the case of China and Brazil, to polycentric in the case of the German film market. Conceptually, we argue that adopting an inter-firm project-based approach can account for the ways in which complex patterns of inter-firm production relations accumulate to form (trans)national city networks. Viewing city networks in this way provides an important alternative perspective to dominant conceptualisations of global urban networks as formed through corporate intra-firm relations.

The paper advances a relational perspective to studying creativity at the individual level. Building on social network theory and techniques, we examine the role of social networks in shaping individuals' ability to generate a creative outcome. More specifically, we argue that individuals who occupy an intermediate position between the core and the periphery of their social system are in a favorable position to achieve creative results. In addition, the benefits accrued through an individual's intermediate core/periphery position can also be observed at the team level, when the same individual works in a team whose members come from both ends of the core/periphery continuum. We situate the analysis and test our hypotheses within the context of the Hollywood motion picture industry, which we trace over the period 1992–2003. The Motion Picture Mind Reading (MPMR) Test is a novel naturalistic mind-reading task, designed to measure individual differences in a young adult population in Japan. Short scenes from TV films showing characters in social situations were presented to 128 university students; participants judged the mental state of a character in these films. The distribution of task performance (MPMR Test) of participants was approximately normal and its psychometric properties were found to be satisfactory. The MPMR Test scores correlated positively with those of the Eyes Test and also with scores on the empathy quotient (EQ); they correlated negatively with scores on the systemizing quotient (SQ). The MPMR Test provides a further method for assessing subtle individual differences in mind-reading ability in the general population.

Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to balance the speed and accuracy of human behaviour recognition, this paper proposes a method of motion recognition based on random projection. Firstly, the optical flow picture and Red, Green, Blue (RGB) picture obtained by the Lucas-Kanade algorithm are used. Secondly, the data of optical flow pictures and RGB pictures are compressed based on a random projection matrix of compressed sensing, which effectively reduces power consumption. At the same time, based on random projection compression data, it can effectively find the optimal linear representation to reconstruct training samples and test samples. Thirdly, a multichannel 3D convolutional neural network is proposed, and the multiple information extracted by the network is fused to form an output recognizer. Experimental results show that the algorithm in this paper significantly improves the recognition rate of multicategory actions and effectively reduces the computational complexity and running time of the recognition algorithm.

Esta pesquisa propõe uma reflexão sobre como a dimensão tecnológica na prática dos Microrroteiros da Cidade se constitui como fator fundamental de seus processos de co-construção e mediação de circulações, dinâmicas e possibilidades de desdobramento. Criado em 2009 pela artista e roteirista paulistana Laura Guimarães, o projeto consiste em pequenas intenções de roteiro que convidam à visualização de histórias e situações vivenciadas por pessoas que transitam e/ou habitam a cidade de São Paulo. A linguagem utilizada nos textos dos microrroteiros é, ao mesmo tempo, uma relativização do roteiro de cinema e do código técnico de escritura do Twitter – uma plataforma de microblogging que prioriza o compartilhamento por meio de mensagens curtas de até 140 caracteres. Por meio de levantamento fotográfico, entrevista e coleta de dados, realizamos um mapeamento dos trânsitos dessas dinâmicas e, posteriormente, desenvolvemos uma análise das opções tipográficas, dos variados suportes, composições e das conexões entre diferentes espaços geográficos identificados. A fundamentação da pesquisa é realizada a partir da Teoria Crítica da Tecnologia de Andrew Feenberg e da leitura do autor sobre as considerações de Herbert Marcuse em relação à tecnologia e a arte. Refletimos também a respeito de deslocamentos de processos artísticos e comunicacionais desencadeados a partir da década de 1960 por um viés teórico latino-americano, sustentado por Néstor García-Canclini e Jesús Martín-Barbero, no intuito de analisarmos como a prática dos Microrroteiros da Cidade e suas dimensões técnico-estéticas se constituem nas dinâmicas das redes sociais e dos códigos urbanos em que se localiza. Desse modo, compreendemos as hibridações de linguagens expressas nessa prática artística como deslocamentos que ocorrem não de modo linear, mas de maneira cruzada e simultânea, borrando fronteiras de autoria e de fruição passiva, possibilitando outras construções de visualidades, coletivos e randômicos, mediando processos de ressignificação e reapropriação da cidade.
This research proposes a reflection about how the technological dimension in the practice of Microrroteiros da Cidade constitutes a fundamental factor of its co-construction and mediation processes of circulation, dynamics and deployment possibilities. Microrroteiros’s project was created in 2009 by the artist and screenwriter Laura Guimarães. Its approach involves small script intentions that invites São Paulo’s population to imagine and visualize scenes that happen in the city. The language used in microrroteiros texts is, at the same time, a relativization of screenplay and Twitter’s technical code – a microblogging plataform that priorizes the share of 140 character messages. Through photographic survey, interview and collection of data, we made a transit mapping of this dynamics and, after that, we developed an analysis of the typographic options, the various media, compositions and connections between different geographic areas identified. The theoretical foundation of this research is based on Andrew Feenberg’s Critical Theory of Technology, and on considerations that this author does about Herbert Marcuse’s theorical position on technology and art. Supported by Néstor García-Canclini and Jesús Martín-Barbero, we observe some shifts of artistic and communication processes triggered from the 1960s by a Latin American theoretical bias, in order to analyze how the practice of Microrroteiros da Cidade and their technical and aesthetic dimensions are constitutive in the dynamics of social media and urban codes in which it is located. Thus, we understand the hybridizations of this artistic practice as displacements that occur in a nonlinear way, but crossed and simultaneous, blurring boundaries of autorship and enabling other visual, collective and random constructions, mediating processes of reinterpretation and reappropriation of the city.

Project-based industries (PBIs) and more specifically the motion picture industry (MPI) are industries with fluid workflows composed of non-standardised routines. The constant and massive employment of resources on an industrial level (energy usage, waste production, ephemeral decors, food consumption, transportation) generates a considerable negative impact on the environment. These industries are not striving towards sustainable development due to their ever changing work processes but have still not suffered from consumers’ backlash as many others are currently experiencing (fast fashion).Nonetheless, sustainability reporting (SR) is a rising phenomenon among MPIs due to an increased awareness about climate change and the need to shift business priorities towards a triple bottom line approach.With the employment of the major theories traditionally used to explore sustainability reporting, this thesis analysed the current stage of sustainability reporting practices in project-based industries with a focus on the motion picture industries in Europe (UK, France, Italy and Sweden). To reach this purpose, a theoretical tryptic supported the argumentation: the institutional theory, legitimacy theory and stakeholder theory were employed in synergy.Eventually, researchers confirm that SR is a rising practice and that it is not harmonised among its users. Given the lack of tailored legislative framework, organisations adventure themselves into self-assessment and third-party assessment with incohesive methodologies. Overall the motivations behind such a transition mainly emanate from personal conviction for sustainability, rather than established institutional or social pressure. Lastly, collaboration and stakeholders considerations are a reality and contribute to a more genuine engagement of MPIs into SR.

This dissertation challenges how Hollywood is typically imagined as monolithic, homogenous and homogenising, and separated from other cinemas by fixed and impermeable borders. This influential cinematic paradigm posits a centre-periphery model underpinned by binary oppositions in which most cinemas are negatively defined as Hollywood’s ‘other’ and perceived as fixed in permanent states of opposition and assimilation. It is a perception reinforced by the influential critical paradigm which focuses on the films’ formal stylistic and narrative properties. This conceptualisation ignores, or fails to observe, the larger picture, in which global, national and local cinemas relate to each other in complex and volatile ways. My argument is that a paradigm shift is required in which the main question asked is not ‘What is Hollywood?’ but ‘Where is Hollywood?’ Location is a crux of my argument because it offers a way of questioning the widespread conception of Hollywood as bounded and fixed in a stable cultural landscape. I apply Arjun Appadurai’s framework of disjunctive global cultural flows to the analysis of cinema to show the existence of a more dynamic and chaotic screenscape than is popularly imagined. I also develop a new model of textual analysis involving traces and tracings. This troubles the notion of impermeable borders by finding the traces of global cultural flows within the film frame and tracing their trajectories outside the frame to and from their points of origin and destination. From the creative tensions caused by these asymmetrical and, multidirectional flows a previously unobserved screenscape emerges in which it is possible to see globalising processes as hybridising processes. Within this interpretive framework Hollywood is decentred and can no longer be perceived as fixed and bounded, or as the paradigm by which most cinemas define themselves and are judged. It reveals that heterogeneity and flux rather than homogeneity and fixity characterise intercinematic relations. It shows the existence of porous borders permitting transnational flows. In linking a film’s formal stylistic properties to the disjunctions in the global flows, the new model I develop for textual analysis offers a way of re-imagining Hollywood within the transnational imaginary.

AbstractThis chapter describes the challenges of co-creating sanitation system design based on material flow and social network with value flow in urban slums in Indonesia. The challenges are described in three phases: first, to understand and describe the current material flow of sanitation and environment; second, to extend our understanding of the wider meaning of material flow and value flow network; and, third, to evolve the solution through a co-creation process with local players. Through the first phase, we could understand the overall problem of sanitation in the research field by applying material flow analysis; the strength was the ability to catch all the related processes based on a logical mass balance point of view. However, its weakness was too strict rule and it is difficult to describe each player’s motivation; in other words, “driving force” of the system. Therefore, in the second phase, we applied social relationship analysis and could draw reasonable picture of sanitation value flow network. Based on that picture, we had started co-creation approach in order to create new sanitation system with local players, and it is still ongoing. We found that the combination of material flow and social relationship provides reasonable and effective picture of wholistic sanitation system; also, that it is important to validate and update the picture through co-creation process among a team consisting of not only various researchers but also local players.

This chapter focuses on India’s public transport system. If cities are democratic laboratories that nurture free and equal motion, then India fails the test every day. In Mumbai, for example, up to sixteen people can find themselves packed into a one-square-metre space inside a carriage during peak hours as Indian Railways fails to provide enough trains and coaches to the financial capital’s arterial rail network. Travelling like animals, risking their lives for livelihood, has been the lot of Mumbai’s daily commuters for as long as they can remember. Away from the cities, where 70 per cent of India lives, the picture is even bleaker, with virtually no state-run public transport system—buses or trains. The daily indignities and inconveniences of travelling prevents citizens from freely accessing goods, services, and social networks that are key to the pursuit of their chosen life strategies. By hindering everyday mobility, hazardous and insufficient transport options have the anti-democratic effect of perpetuating social inequities and dispersing communities into isolated silos that prevent collective assembly, deliberation, and action. Other than dilapidated or non-existent public transport systems, elitist policies, and poor government oversight hinder movement—and democracy—in various other ways.

This chapter examines the historical, social, cultural, and intellectual constitution of the first postwar pan-Asian cinema network during the two decades after the Korean War armistice in July 1953. It argues that Asia's film cultures and industries were shaped by the practice of transnational collaboration and competition between newly independent and colonial states, with financial and administrative support from US institutions. It also looks at the network of motion picture executives, creative personnel, policy makers, and intellectuals in Asia at the height of the Cold War and beyond. The chapter shows how Asians aspired to rationalize and industrialize a system of mass production by initiating a regional organization. It identifies the cultural, economic, and political logic that gave rise to and modified the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Southeast Asia and the Southeast Asian Film Festival.

This chapter examines the significant growth of a mobile Vietnamese trading network in the past two decades, from Ho Chi Minh City to the entire southern half of Vietnam. The prominence of villagers from one lowlands village in the central coastal province of Quảng Ngãi in this trading niche highlights the importance of social network in Vietnamese political economy. About half of the traders in this trading network are male, and half, female, in contrast to the common dominance of women in Vietnamese petty trade. In relation to the literature on gender and trade in Vietnam and the rest of Southeast Asia, the chapter also examines how malleable gender is in Vietnamese trading activities.

The very common purpose where recommender system is applied are OTT platforms, search engines, articles, music, videos etc During this work we tend to propose a Collaborative approach-based Movie Recommendation system. it is supported collaborative filtering approach that creates use of the knowledge provided by users, analyzes them so recommends the flicks that’s best suited to the user at that point. The suggested motion picture list is sorted in keeping with the ratings given to those movies by previous users. It conjointly helps users to search out of their selections supported the movie expertise of alternative users in economical and effective manner while not wasting a lot of time in useless browsing [1]. Therefore, we tend to offer the item-oriented methodology of the analysis of social network as the steering force of this method to further improve accuracy within the recommendation system. We tend to propose economic healthcare associates during this paper The algorithmic rule of the Film Recommendation supported improved KNN strategy that measures simpler advisory system accuracy. However, to evaluate performance, the k closest victimized neighbors, the maximum inner circles, as well as the basic inner strategies are used [2]. The exception to this is the projected results, which use algorithms to check for (supposedly) involvement.The performance results show that the projected strategies improve additional accuracy of the Movie recommendation system than the other strategies employed in this experiment.

Background: Driving is a complex everyday activity that requires the use and integration of different cognitive and psychomotor functions, many of which are known to be affected when under the influence of cannabis (CNB). Given legal implications of drugged-driving and rapidly increasing use of CNB nationwide, there is an urgent need to better understand the effects of CNB on such functions in the context of driving. This longitudinal, double-blind placebo-controlled study investigated the effects of CNB on driving brain-behavior relationships in a controlled simulated environment using functional MRI (fMRI). Methods: N=26 frequent cannabis users were administered 0.5 grams of 13% THC or placebo flower cannabis via a Stortz+Bickel ‘Volcano’ vaporizer using paced inhalation, on separate days at least 1 week apart. On each study day, participants drove a virtual driving simulator (steering wheel, brake, gas pedal) inside an MRI scanner approximately 40 minutes post-dosing. Each fMRI driving session presented a naturalistic simulated environment that unobtrusively engaged drivers with scenarios that tested specific driving skills and response. There were three, approximately 10 min epochs where drivers engaged in task of lane keeping/weaving (LK), lead car following (CF), and safe overtaking (OT). fMRI data were prepared for analyses using the Human Connectome Project pipeline, then subjected to group independent component analysis (ICA) to isolate 50 spatially independent networks. 40 ICA networks were deemed valid and non-noisy. Network regions in these components were identified using 387 parcel locations, incorporating a cortical parcellation atlas (Glasser et al 2016) and detailed subcortical labels. A placebo minus high difference connectivity map was generated for each subject. A similar placebo minus high behavioral score was generated for each subject and then subjected to a principal component analysis (PCA) to reduce it to 8 orthogonal behavioral factors. Of the 8 driving behavior factors, two represented CF events (F1 and F5), three LK (F3, F4, and F8), and three OT (F2, F6, and F7). Driving behavior factors were evaluated for linear association with connectivity maps via FSL’s randomize (p<0.01 FWE-corrected significance). Results:Across all components examined, we found connectivity differences between placebo v high THC within right motion-sensitive visual cortex (parcel FST) (visual) and right superior temporal gyrus (social cognition) to positively correlate with LK driving performance. The strongest brain-behavior relationships were found for OT-related behavioral factors. Connectivity in left dorsolateral parcel a9-46v (cognitive flexibility) and right motor cortex parcel 3b (somatosensory) correlated negatively with F6 (OT). A left superior frontal parcel (higher order cognition/working memory) correlated negatively with F7 (OT) and finally R inferior frontal gyrus (response inhibition and reward deduction) correlated positively with F7 (OT). Conclusion: Our preliminary analyses yield a complex yet informative picture of key brain areas sensitive to acute CNB exposure on different driving behaviors using a simulated environment, further underscoring the impact of substance use on driving as a potential public safety issue.

Face masks and social distancing is essential for many infectious diseases that spread through micro-droplets. According to WHO, the preventive measure for COVID-19 is to follow social distancing. Face Detection has expanded as a widespread concern in Computer Vision and Image processing. Many unique algorithms are developed using Convolutional Architectures to curate the algorithm as accurately as possible. First, the person in the video frames is pinpointed with the aid of Deep Learning (DL). The second step is to calculate the span between any two individuals through approaches of image processing. We aim to use a binary face classifier which will help us analyze the frame and help in detecting any face present irrespective of its alignment. Our proposed technique helps in generating accurate face segmentation masks from any random-sized input picture. We start by using an RGB image of any size, the approach uses Predefined Training for feature extraction. Faster Regional Convolutional Neural Networks are used for training. Here we segment out the faces present in the given image or frame semantically. Faster Regional Convolutional Neural Network (FRCNN) processes the given data faster with higher accuracy. The precision and decision-making are very elevated in Faster RCNN compared to others.
