Streszczenie:
Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide represents an attractive possibility for valorization of this abundant carbon feedstock while simultaneously removing it from the atmosphere. Enzymes that fix carbon dioxide feature precisely positioned amino acid residues in the secondary coordination sphere in order to modulate reaction energetics. This precedent motivates the design of molecular catalysts with rationally tunable functional groups in the second coordination sphere, which allow for a better understanding of the role of the local chemical environment. Here, we present recent studies on the synthesis and electrochemical behavior of molecular CO2 reduction catalysts and the importance of identity, positioning, and tunability of the second coordination sphere in modifying activity.

Streszczenie:
Nature of delocalization of the electrons from the ligands to metals in the first coordination sphere of the high-spin complexes [Fe(H2O)6]2+/3+ and [Zn(H2O)6]2+ are computationally studied using density functional theory. Among the studied complexes, natural charge transfer from H2O ligands to metal ion is found to be maximum of 1.556e in [Fe(H2O)6]3+ and minimum of 0.621e in [Zn(H\2O)6]2+. On the other hand, the interaction between the lone pairs of oxygen with metal ion was found to be stronger in [Zn(H2O)6]2+ than in the complexes with second coordination sphere. Number of such strong interactions in the first coordination sphere was found to be decreased with the addition of H2O ligands in the second coordination sphere.Journal of Institute of Science and Technology Volume 22, Issue 2, January 2018, Page: 148-155

The influence of the second coordination sphere on die electroreduction of hafnium complexes to hafnium metal and the redox reaction Eu(III)+e-⇔ Eu(II) in alkali halide melts was studied. It is shown that die large caesium cations in the melt reduce the transfer and the diffusion coefficients as well as the heterogeneous rate constants for charge transfer of harnitcn complexes. The standard rare constants for the europium redox reaction increase when going from NaCl-KCl to CsCl. The different influence of die second coordination sphere on the electrode reactions is explained by different limitation stages for electron transfer

In this article, results of investigation of the effect of temperature on radial distribution function of atoms in lead-silicate glass are reported. Radial distribution functions of atoms in the lead-silicate glass 2SiO2∙PbO were calculated via Mathematica 5.1 Wolfram Research from high-temperature X-ray diffraction patterns. It turned out that in the range of 773-973 K mainly variations of the location of atoms in the third coordination sphere have observed, while in the range of 973-1123 K, changes in the first and second coordination spheres take place.

Streszczenie:
Within the framework of the phenomenological model of twoparticle interaction, the effect of the interaction energy of atoms from the second coordination sphere on the phonon dispersion is considered. This approach makes it possible to vary the growth of the phonon frequency relative to the optical phonon in the center of the Brillun zone. The effects of the contribution to the Raman spectra from longitudinal optical phonons with frequencies higher than their frequency at the center of the Brillouin zone are discussed. The contribution to the frequency of interaction of atoms from the second coordination sphere for some phonons is obtained in an explicit form. The formulas obtained will be useful for calculating the spectra of Raman scattering of light by optical phonons localized in diamond nanocrystals
