This study examines the content of press releases from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Science and Technology Centers (STCs) to determine how public information officers (PIOs) presented the outcomes of centers to journalists and the public. A total of 68 press releases were analyzed for type of news covered, visibility of centers and their funding agency, extent of inter-institutional cooperation in the issuance of releases, and players covered. Three-quarters of STC releases mentioned the center, but less than half mentioned the NSF STC program and one-quarter didn't mention the center name at all. PIOs covering the STCs mainly issued research-oriented press releases accredited to their own institution. There was a low level of inter-institutional cooperation, with 13% of press releases jointly issued. Compared to research results and institutional news, which together accounted for 82% of the news events, broader activities such as knowledge transfer, diversity enhancement, and education were much less visible.

The purpose of this paper is to understand This paper aims to explore the process of the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Organizations (hereinafter referred to as KOFST), a representative organization of Korean science and technology in the 1960s and 1970s when science and technology emerged as an important national policy agenda. The overload, which advocated a pressure group to guarantee the authority of scientists and establish its status, made it actively respond to political power to build the Science and Technology Center, which was its long-cherished desire. To this end, science and technology organizations focus more on political activities than research to obtain government support. As a result, government-friendly scientific politics will be introduced. This can be said to be the result of political activities chosen by the overwhelming general to achieve their dreams.

The Advanced Technology Center for Surface Engineered Materials (ATC-SEM) is a bold experiment in research management. Scientists from its five member institutions work independently within a central framework for overall planning and for the allocation of resources. Access to areas of expertise beyond the compass of the individual institutions more than offsets the logistical problems inherent in the distributed nature of the organization.ATC-SEM had its origins in 1988 as one of a number of Advanced Technology Centers established by a grant from the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology after approval of the Jobs, Education, and Competitiveness Bond Act. All the ATCs are dedicated to improving the competitiveness of New Jersey's industry through the application of technology.The ATM-SEM is administered through Associated Institutions for Material Sciences (AIMS) which has six member institutions, five of which are universities. AIMS also administers other multicampus programs in New Jersey, including the New Jersey NASA space grant consortium and a SEMATECH Center of Excellence. The hallmark of each program is a collaborative effort which transcends the capabilities of any of the individual campuses. The consortium member institutions span the private, public, and industrial sectors and comprise the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Rutgers (the State University of New Jersey), Stevens Institute of Technology, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and David Sarnoff Research Center (an independent contract research center).

This research was carried out to reveal the experiences of pre-service elementary teachers during their visit to the science center and their observations and opinions about this experience. For this purpose, a case study, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was adopted. Thirty-two pre-service elementary teachers participated in the research. Interviews, observations and diaries were used to obtain the data, and the data were subjected to content analysis. As a result of the analysis, four themes were reached: image, interest, contribution, and improvement. The results show that pre-service teachers associate the science center image they create with technology, laboratory and scientists. It was determined that pre-service teachers showed more interest in some disciplines of science, scientists, and technology-related fields in the science center. In addition, it was concluded that the science center will contribute to the innovative and productive vision, economy, science literacy of the society in the city where it is located, science teaching, and the professional development of teachers. Finally, the pre-service teachers made suggestions to increase the contribution of science centers to the region and society. It is thought that the results will be guiding in terms of providing science teaching experience and a qualified science teaching vision to pre-service elementary teachers in informal environments.

The research aims to find out the level of utilization of information technology by Field Agricultural Extension and analyze the influence of information technology utilization by Field Agricultural Extension on the Function of BPP as a Learning Center. The research was conducted in December 2021 - January 2022 in Central Lampung Distriet on four BPP namely BPP Gunung Sugih, Seputih Raman, Kota Gajah, and Trimurjo. Respondents in this study were Field Agricultural Extension as many as 40 people. Research methods were conducted in a descriptive quantitative and simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study showed field agricultural extensionists have utilized information technology by 57,50 percent. Utilization of information technology was utilized as part of information and data centers, governance management, communication, and data analysis. There was no influence between the utilization of information technology by Field Agricultural Extension to the function of BPP as a learning center. The Agricultural Extension Center was optimized for various activity centers such as agribusiness consultation, agricultural development center, data and information center and so on.

Like many research institutions, the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysicsf (CfA), has been actively engaged in education and public outreach activities for many years. The Harvard University Department of Astronomy, the formal higher education arm of the CfA, offers an undergraduate concentration and a doctoral program. In our Science Education Department, educational researchers manage ten programs that address the needs of teachers and students (K-12 and college), through advanced technology, teacher enhancement programs, and the development of curriculum materials. The Editorial and Public Affairs Department offers several public lecture series, recorded sky information, children's nights, and runs the Whipple Observatory Visitors Center in Amado, AZ. In this environment of successful programs, the High Energy Astrophysics (HEA) division, one of seven research divisions at the CfA, has initiated, or partnered with other institutions, development of several new education and outreach programs. Some of these programs involve partnerships with the education community, but all of them have been initiated by and involve scientists.

This article describes successful practices for including individuals with disabilities (e.g., leaders, students, faculty researchers, advisory board members) in the Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering (CSNE), an Engineering Research Center funded by the National Science Foundation. The methods, tools, and materials presented in this article can be used by others seeking to increase the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in postsecondary science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs. Methods are employed to ensure that the CSNE is welcoming and accessible to individuals with a wide range of abilities and to recruit individuals with disabilities into significant roles that support the Center’s mission. These efforts have resulted in the engagement of individuals with disabilities in the Center’s operations, activities, and research at a higher rate when compared with all Engineering Research Centers.

Newly funded Centers focus on interventions to promote caregiving mastery, integrate the use of technology in care support to improve assessments and interventions in care provision, develop behavioral interventions to reduce isolation and promote social connectedness in caregivers, promote health in racial/ethnic minorities, and apply insights from data science and behavioral economics to improve palliative care delivery and long-term support facilities for persons with dementia and their caregivers. Center leaders will present an overview of their cutting-edge, early-stage research projects based on the NIH Stage model conceptual framework and discuss implications for improving care of caregivers and patients.

AbstractThe Center for Astrophysical Research in Antarctica conducts various educational outreach programs as part of its mission as a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center. The method behind the outreach programs is one of forging partnerships between Center researchers and other educational organisations. The main program serves primary and secondary students in Chicago. The core of the program is called Space Explorers and is targeted at high school students. These students attend a summer residential institute at the University of Chicago’s Yerkes Observatory. The high school Space Explorers then extend the reach of the program during the academic year by teaching in primary schools using a portable planetarium. The Center also pursues many other outreach activities and is in the process of forming an Antarctic Education Alliance.

The goal of this study is to analyze the current status of children's science centers and government-supported project cases, to identify the problems of children's science centers, and to establish a framework and provide guidelines for the establishment of a theme for children's science centers based on local identity, and the necessary approach to construction and business planning. The research method was conducted through three research methods: local discussions, fieldwork, and expert consultation, and detailed results were obtained. First, the current status of children's specialized science museums and government-supported projects were reviewed and analyzed, approach directions were suggested, and detailed problems were presented. Second, we presented a process for selecting local science and technology themes for the construction of children's science centers. Third, it presented a framework and guidelines for building a children's science center and setting up a business and operation plan. This study can serve as a framework and guideline for building and operating children's science centers that can identify and access local science and technology. It can also be used to revitalize local science and culture in areas experiencing population decline.

Additional funding for individual scientific research programs conducted by CMS members comes directly from outside sources.To carry out its responsibilities, CMS has accepted four demanding missions:1. Strengthen the interactions of materials scientists at Los Alamos with the external materials science community.4. Abstract The goal of the Roybal Center program is the translation and integration of basic behavioral and social research findings into interventions to improve older people ‘s lives and the capacity of institutions to adapt to societal aging. Roybal Centers are structured within the conceptual framework of the multidirectional, translational NIH Stage Model to produce potent and implementable principle-driven behavioral interventions. The NIA’s Division of Behavioral and Social Research currently supports thirteen Roybal Centers, five of which have a primary focus on issues related to dementia care and caregiving support. Each Dementia Care Center has a unique focus that addresses issues such as social isolation, caregiving mastery, community-based resources and racial/ethnic minority health promotion. Additionally, a focus on the utilization of data science and behavioral economics related to palliative care, as well as a focus on the application of technology to improve assessments and interventions complete the scope of research endeavors.

Outreach and connections with K–12 education are part of the mission of the Geometry Center, a Science and Technology Research Center funded by the National Science Foundation and the University of Minnesota. One vehicle for this outreach is an intensive summer course for teachers in which they experience new learning using the center's technology resources. A graduate-level mathematics course, “Technology in the Geometry Classroom,” was created at the Geometry Center by director Richard McGehee with two graduate students, Eduardo Tabacman and Evelyn Sander, and two postdoctoral fellows, Chaim Goodman-Strauss and Heidi Burgiel.

Over the years, the library activity has been focused on libraries programs. But today, according to the scientific development of information technology in various fields including medicine Librarians and Medical Informatics sciences skills in new areas serving the medical community and patients has changed. In addition to changing activities, medical librarians working in the libraries of traditional state-centered research activities, new jobs have been created for graduates. In this study, a qualitative interview from librarians graduated between the years 80 to 93 and working in different parts of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences was created. According to the qualitative interviews, medical librarians have a strong presence in these activities:As well as doctors and care team members in different centers, such as research centers, training and knowledge management university, helping in the search for papers for scientific and academic staffs and provide access to the best evidence for them, Evidence-Based Medicine center(EBM), Research Development & Coordination Center (RDCC), Activity in publication center and convert documents into a suitable format and accepted as HTML or PDF or XML for inclusion in the Institutional Repository of the University Process data recording, content management, workshops for faculty and students, University survey activities in science centers, medical education and e-learning as well as other ancillary activities.
