Relatar a vivência docente e discente e suas percepções sobre o ensino remoto na enfermagem frente à pandemia da COVID-19. Trata-se de um relato de experiência a respeito do ensino remoto emergencial, experienciado por discentes e docentes do curso superior de enfermagem em meio a pandemia pela COVID-19. A forma de adesão das aulas remotas deu-se mediante a plataformas digitais de acesso on-line com a criação de ambientes de sala de aula por chamadas de vídeo em tempo real. A modalidade de ensino remoto trouxe consigo aspectos positivos bem como desafios importantes acerca do processo de aprendizagem em enfermagem. A experiência com o ensino remoto em meio a pandemia do COVID-19 tem demonstrado inúmeros desafios para formação do enfermeiro, porém é considerada uma alternativa temporária de caráter emergencial eficaz para minimização de danos sociais e educacionais no período crítico atual.Descritores: Educação em Enfermagem, Enfermagem, Ensino, Pandemias. O projeto de extensão Serviço de Apoio às Pessoas com Doença Arterial Periférica presta assistência fisioterapêutica a indivíduos com Doença Arterial Periférica. Com a pandemia causada pelo coronavírus (COVID-19), o serviço passou a ser oferecido de forma remota. O objetivo deste artigo é relatar a experiência do programa de autocuidado apoiado remoto do projeto de extensão durante o período de pandemia do coronavírus. Foi desenvolvido um protocolo para o acompanhamento remoto dos pacientes, com a manutenção de exercícios de caminhada e exercícios de resistência muscular. A avaliação foi realizada por meio de instrumento de satisfação para pacientes e discentes, e pela adesão dos pacientes ao protocolo remoto. A experiência foi considerada positiva pelos pacientes e discentes. Porém, a adesão dos pacientes foi <50%. O uso de tecnologias digitais pode ser uma barreira para a adesão ao serviço remoto, embora aqueles que a ultrapassam avaliam a experiência do programa de cuidado apoiado como positiva. With the pandemic caused by Corononavirus (COVID-19), the service started to be offered remotely. The purpose of this article is to report the experience of the remote-supported self-care program of the extension project during the coronavirus pandemic period. A protocol was developed for the remote monitoring of patients, keeping the walking exercises and the muscle resistance exercises. The assessment was carried out using a satisfaction instrument for patients and students and through the patients' adherence to the remote protocol. The experience was considered positive by the patients and students. However, patient compliance was <50%. The use of digital technologies can be a barrier to adhering to the remote service, although those who overcome it assess the experience of the supported care program as positive. Cloud is one of the most common noises of remote sensing monitoring in Yellow River. It is one of the important tasks to remove or weaken the effect of thin cloud. Based on the imaging model and characteristics of thin cloud, some technologic methods to remove cloudy are introduced, such as the method of filtering in space domain, the method of filtering in frequency domain and the method of band ratio. This paper analyzed the characteristics, application method and work flow of those methods, and evaluated the application effect of remote sensing monitoring using these methods in Yellow River. Thin cloud removal method improves the using-efficiency of remote sensing data, and ensures the reliability of remote sensing results.

Introdução: O grupo de estudos remoto como ação do projeto de extensão surge a partir do isolamento social, causado pela pandemia, e da necessidade de complementação do conhecimento sobre um recurso de tecnologia assistiva desenvolvido por terapeutas ocupacionais – as órteses. Objetivo: Descrever as potencialidades de uma ação remota de extensão em órteses na formação discente em Terapia Ocupacional. Métodos: Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem quantitativa, de cunho exploratório-descritivo. Os dados foram coletados via questionário, com perguntas fechadas de múltipla escolha e enviado para discentes integrantes do grupo de estudos remoto, com participação mínima de dois encontros, por contato eletrônico. Resultados: Percebe-se que o grupo de estudos remoto impacta positivamente na formação (80%), principalmente pelo acesso aos artigos científicos atualizados, pela troca de informações sobre a temática estudada e pelo conhecimento em relação a diferentes modelos de órteses dispensadas (100%). Observa-se que, mesmo com o retorno presencial das atividades acadêmicas, tem-se a possibilidade de manter as atividades de forma remota (40%), uma vez que o grupo de estudos tem seus benefícios para a formação enquanto futuro profissional (93,3%), sendo uma ferramenta na articulação entre ensino, pesquisa e extensão (86,7%). Conclusão: Independentemente do retorno presencial nas instituições de ensino, o grupo de estudos, remoto ou não, é importante para a formação, especialmente para complementar o conhecimento teórico sobre órteses.Palavras-chave: Disseminação de Informação. Terapia Ocupacional Abstract Introduction: The remote study group, as an action of the extension project, arises from the social isolation caused by the pandemic and the need to complement knowledge about an assistive technology resource developed by occupational therapists – orthotics. Objective: To describe the potential of a remote action of extension in orthotics in student training in Occupational Therapy. Method: It is a research with a quantitative approach, of an exploratory-descriptive nature. Data were collected through a questionnaire with multiple-choice closed-ended questions, and sent to students who were part of the remote study group, with a minimum participation of two meetings, by electronic contact. Results: It can be seen that the remote study group has a positive impact on academic training (80%), mainly due to access to up-to-date scientific articles, the exchange of information on the subject studied and knowledge regarding different models of orthoses dispensed (100%). It is observed that even with the face-to-face return of academic activities, there is the possibility of maintaining the activities in a remote way (40%), since the study group has its benefits for training as a future professional (93.3%), being a tool in the articulation between teaching, research and extension (86.7%). Conclusion: Regardless of face-to-face return of activities in educational institutions, the study group, remote or not, is important for academic training, especially to complement theoretical knowledge about orthotics.Keywords: Information Dissemination. Objetivo Describir el potencial de una acción remota de extensión en ortesis en la formación de estudiantes en Terapia Ocupacional. Método: Se trata de una investigación con abordaje cuantitativo, de carácter exploratorio-descriptivo. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de un cuestionario con preguntas cerradas de opción múltiple, y enviados a los estudiantes que formaban parte del grupo de estudio remoto, con una participación mínima de dos encuentros, por contacto electrónico. Resultados: Se percibe que el grupo de estudio remoto tiene un impacto positivo en la formación (80%), principalmente por el acceso a artículos científicos actualizados, el intercambio de información sobre el tema estudiado y el conocimiento sobre diferentes modelos de ortesis dispensadas (100%). Se observa que aún con el regreso presencial de las actividades académicas es posible mantener las actividades de manera remota (40%), ya que el grupo de estudio tiene sus beneficios para la formación como futuro profesional (93,3 %), siendo una herramienta en la articulación entre docencia, investigación y extensión (86,7%). Richmond, Virginia has, through recent design proposals and projects, sought reconciliation with the countries in West Africa that were once the source for slave trade in which the city was such an active participant. These admirable works address the nations’ shared history, perhaps at the expense of understanding modern cultures. This thesis seeks to create this understanding through the development of an educational facility that would interact with Richmond’s current landscape. In pursuit of respectful relationship, I address the ways in which design can authentically teach about place. The study begins with the creation of a personal understanding of site through diagrammatic analysis. The research continues with case studies that relate to either the context, program or process of this project. The concepts this research generated led to a proposed design solution for the Southern Railway Freight building in Richmond’s Shockhoe Slip. Both design processes and the proposed solution are documented herein.

Detta projekt har haft som fokus att skapa ett system där användare med hjälp av SSH ska kunna logga in på en server och utföra konfigurationer på switchar och routrar med olika krav såsom att enbart en användare får vara inloggad i systemet åt gången. För att uppnå målen och kraven så användes ett par olika skript med språk såsom shell, bash, perl och expect. Resultatet visar en färdig produkt och att detta projekt var genomförbart. Lösningsförslaget finns presenterat i form av ett flödesschema och sedan vanlig text. Slutligen presenteras och diskuteras även andra alternativa lösningar.
The projects main focus have been to create a system mainly for the users that study network technology on a more advanced level. In order for the students to start to configure the switches and routers they need to access a server with the SSH protocol which was one of the requirements. Another requirement was that only one user should be able to configure at same time (so two users should NOT be able to configure the switches and routers at the same time). The scripting languages that was used was bash, shell, perl and expect in order to achieve these goals and requirement. The result shows a finished product and that this project was feasable. The solution is presented as a flowchart as an overview and some regular text that explains the scripts in more depth. There are of course a ton of other ways to solve this problem and a few of them are presented and discussed in the later chapters.

I am a Christian. In my opinion, this is the most important way I can describe myself as a person. As a son, brother, friend, employee, and student my Faith undeniably affects every facet of my life. In an effort to make my last year as a student resonate on a personal level, I have combined my spiritual journey with my academic one. My intent was to characterize my Christian faith in order to introduce an architecture that embodies the duality of a personal connection to God and a community experience based on fellowship. My ten-week investigation of my beliefs, the Christian church, and architectural precedents has pointed me towards designing a remote worship destination in an effort to explore the intersection that occurs between the spiritual and earthly realms and between the individual and society. My hope is that this design will embody my concept of the Christian faith as a process, or journey, and the nature of that process causing a spiritual separation from society. My intention is to symbolically represent a journey, a point of rest and introspection, and to capture the nature of worship with an architecture and how that architecture responds to a site. My process thus far has been incredibly introspective and educational on so much more than an academic plane. My early research was fueled by cynicism and frustration with how I have seen the Christian faith and church represented in America today. However, diving deeper into the spirituality of Christian worship I have gained a beautiful perspective on our relationship with God and each other. Vive-se hoje uma época onde as organizações estão em constante mutação, as preocupações acrescidas com a qualidade e a performance tornaram o mundo empresarial um espaço agressivo e pouco tolerante ao erro. Contratar colaboradores culturalmente distantes ou geograficamente afastados, estimulando deste modo novas formas de trabalhar e cooperar passaram hoje a ser uma realidade e em alguns casos um fator diferenciador. Tentar compreender a existência de possíveis diferenças na gestão destas equipas, a viabilidade financeira da sua utilização o impacto da heterogeneidade cultural e geográfica no comportamento das mesmas são os grandes objetivos que o estudo pretende esclarecer. Para responder a estes temas, são abordados ao longo do estudo pontos essenciais para o correto funcionamento das Equipas Virtuais, sustentados numa investigação da literatura existente sobre o tema das Equipas Virtuais, com o intuito de aferir quais as caraterísticas principais já observadas por investigadores. Posteriormente é analisado um estudo de caso representativo da utilização de Equipas Virtuais, num contexto de um grande projeto de Sistemas de Informação. Foram recolhidas opiniões de alguns dos elementos participantes no projeto na forma de um questionário. Seguiu-se uma análise das respostas onde se obtiveram algumas conclusões. A necessidade de incentivar o uso de técnicas de inclusão como forma de eliminar as barreiras causadas pela distância física, a importância de aproximar os colaboradores fomentando uma maior cumplicidade e a relevância dos eventos presenciais na promoção da confiança, foram algumas das conclusões obtidas, cujo contributo espera-se, possa vir a ser útil a futuros investigadores.
Today is a time where organizations are constantly changing, increased concerns about quality and performance have made the business world an aggressive and not tolerant of error. Hiring culturally distant or geographically distant collaborators, stimulating new ways of working and cooperating, have now become a reality and in some cases a differentiating factor. Trying to understand the existence of possible differences in the management of these teams, the financial viability of their use and the impact of cultural and geographic heterogeneity on their behavior are the main objectives that the study intends to clarify.In order to respond to these themes, essential points for the correct functioning of the Virtual Teams, based on an investigation of the existing literature on the topic of Virtual Teams, are addressed throughout the study, in order to ascertain the main characteristics already observed by researchers. Subsequently a representative case study of the use of Virtual Teams is analyzed, in the context of a large Information Systems project. Opinions were collected from some of the project participants in the form of a questionnaire. This was followed by an analysis of the answers where some conclusions were obtained. The need to encourage the use of inclusion techniques as a way of eliminating the barriers caused by physical distance, the importance of bringing employees closer to each other and fostering more complicity and the relevance of face-to-face events in the promotion of trust were some of the conclusions obtained. It is hoped, may prove useful to future researchers.

During times of crisis, such as when the world is going through a pandemic. Many companies get affected and need to change their way of working. Our purpose is to study how the abrupt transition to remote work effects different aspects of work and to see whether, and in what ways, the involuntary nature of the current remote work situation changes how remote work is perceived by employees and managers. We choose to do a qualitative study, in order to get a deeper understanding from both employees’ perspective and managers perspective. The managers and employees participating in our interview are from banking, insurance, and staffing agencies. These interviews will be supplemented with secondary sources from news and statistical surveys. By comparing the results from our study with earlier research and recommendations from industry experts, we concluded that organizational members are handling the transition to remote work well despite the ongoing situation. Similar pros and cons of remote work that are present in previous research are also present in our interviews. However, there are some distinct differences as well. Our thesis is intended to help other organizations learn and gain knowledge about how different organizations are managing remote work in a crisis and the challenges that it brings.

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a remote control application for personal computers. This application will have two devices implied, the computer to be controlled and a small portable device that will be used as remote controller.

In this specific case, the portable device picked is the Nintendo DS, for reasons discussed later in this document that make this device interesting as a remote controller.

The application should allow the final user to create his own set of remote controllers for any computer application he wants to control, and also, to define the commands the application should perform. This makes the developed solution a full customizable universal remote controlling application.

The first step taken was to do a small research about what kind of devices and software are present actually for remote control applications, so the differences, advantages and disadvantages of using the Nintendo DS will be shown. Then the developed solution will be explained and tested, controlling some computer applications under different scenarios.

A Remote Telemetry Station (RTS) was developed to support Boeing’s requirement to relocate its flight test telemetry range away from Seattle, Wa. As requirements to relocate the test range were investigated high level requirements were documented and various approaches were evaluated. The end result of the analysis and requirements definition was the procurement of the Remote Telemetry Station (RTS). The RTS is capable of supporting many sites, tracking and receiving up to 1024 Kbits/sec of telemetry data, providing fully redundant two-way radio communication in the UHF and VHF bands, linking all the data back to Seattle and appearing transparent to the users. The RTS was designed and developed by a Boeing/Veda Incorporated team. The end result of this joint design and development effort is a system that meets all Boeing requirements in a highly integrated, extremely efficient, and very flexible package providing for growth through the year 2000.

Today, many small aerodromes have a hard time surviving economically, and amongst the largest cost is air traffic control. Airlines are cutting costs where they can, and many times this affects the aerodromes as well, e.g. when airlines decide to park remotely instead of at the gate. The project called Remotely Operated Towers, initiated by SESAR and run by Saab and LFV, is aiming to address this problem. The project revolves around remotely providing ATS to aerodromes where it is deemed suitable. A big challenge in this project is how to assign aerodromes to remote tower modules in the remote control centre. There are many ways to do this, but there is only a few ways to do it to achieve the least amount of modules. This thesis aims to find an optimal solution to the challenge mentioned above. The thesis resulted in a model where the user can provide the input of choice, i.e. aerodromes with associated ATS operating hours and movements, for a specific period – and receive the assignment schedule for the modules, saying exactly which aerodrome are to be controlled by which module at what time.

In virtual environments real-time measurement of position and orientation of the user’s hand or head is mostly done using expensive tracking devices, such as the Flock of Birds by Ascension, Inc. Recently, the Nintendo Wii Remote appeared as an inexpensive alternative for tracking in 3D. In this research, performance of the Wii Remote was characterized through experiments with one and two remotes and by using a high precision Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM). It was found that the two-parallel-remotes arrangement yielded the best measurement accuracy in about 50 cm depth from the remotes. The remotes could measure position with an average 9 mm horizontal and 6 mm vertical error. The roll angle was measured with ±3.4° average error. The worst errors were in the yaw and pitch angle measurements, ±7.4° and ±10°, respectively, due to the LED inclination angles. The long term goal of our research is to develop a lightweight haptic glove where the Wii Remote can potentially be used in tracking the user’s hand.

The study examines literature on remote job design possibilities from distant locations. After the remote job design concept is formed, the premises for the use of remote job design are analysed, the necessary conditions, possibilities, and employees’ willingness to work remotely are explained, summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of remote work. The quantitative research was conducted to reveal out the possibilities of remote job design in Lithuanian companies according to the areas of work in which it is possible, impossible to work remotely or possible to work flexibly. The willingness to do remote jobs was also examined, and the picture of prone to remote job employee by demographic characteristics of the respondents was drawn. The most convenient distant locations, informational and communication technologies (ICT) and addresses of indirect communication were identified. It was found that survey participants are not resistant to work remotely, and it also showed that at least partially remote job could be designed in majority of Lithuanian companies. Most of them prefer flexible mixed variation of remote and traditional work. The main difficulties were named that required high level of self-discipline, but not the lack or deficiencies in using ICT, electronic devices and designing other required conditions for remote job design.

Abstract The Windscale Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactor (WAGR) is the UK’s demonstration project for power reactor decommissioning. As part of the SAFER programme, funded by the DTI, UKAEA have contracted BNFL Magnox to implement the work. The reactor is being dismantled on a ‘top-down’ basis and a major current task is to dismantle the hot gas manifold (hotbox). AEA Technology was contracted to supply equipment to size reduce and remove the hotbox. The strategy makes use of manual, semi-remote and remote techniques. Semi-remote tools were built and deployed and then set to work with the assistance of personnel entering the radiation area. The equipment was then operated remotely from a control room located in an adjacent building.

The level of digitalisation and electronification offers new opportunities in the labour market, offering flexible working conditions and the opportunity to work remotely. Emphasizing the successful fulfilment of the functions / goals of higher education institutions and thinking about its sustainability and competitiveness, its personnel must act professionally, flexibly and innovatively, ensuring the continuity of administrative processes, meeting the needs of internal / external customers. The aim of the research � to study what factors promote innovative behaviour of university administrative personnel during remote management. Research questions are: Which factors of administrative personnel remote management significantly promote innovative behaviour? Which factors of administrative personnel remote management hinder innovative behaviour during remote work? Is there statistically significant correlation between remote management of administrative personnel and employee performance as a significant facilitator of innovative behaviour? Which impact factors are the most important for increasing work performance? Survey consists of 52 statements and 11 variables to find answers to important factors of remote work and management - work organization, technical support, communication between employees and managers, worklife balance, specifics of time planning, socialization opportunities, work performance control opportunities, employee motivation, flexibility and openness to innovative actions when working remotely. Sample of the research - 160 respondents - administrative personnel of the university, who are responsible for the provision of administrative functions - study process, human resource management. Hindering factors to innovate are the lack of feedback and encouragement, being insufficiently informed about how to act in non-standard cases, low initiative to suggest innovative solutions to problems and lack of confidence, that employees work in a contemporary organization. Strengthening of the leadership, learning about it, team building, and time management are important for personnel openness.

Remote access to complex laboratory equipment and the possibility of remotely driving experiments and measurements represent appealing issues of great interest and relevance for research, educational, and industrial purposes. The range of topics potentially involved is very large, including, among others, applications in all fields of engineering, as well as of medicine, biology, and physics [1] Nowadays, the modern learning technologies like e-learning and life-long learning are getting more and more popular. Many current distance learning technologies are passive in that the communication typically flows in one direction, which is only from the instructor to the student, and there is no feedback or delayed feedback in reverse direction [2]. Virtual labs are the element that changes this architecture and allows feedback from the students and increases the interactivity process. In this aspect the role of the virtual labs is growing rapidly. Many universities have their online laboratories. Such are the virtual lab on the course "Computer Organization", in the University of Rousse [3], the virtual laboratory in John Hopkins University[4] and many others. When we talk about e-learning or any other kind of distance education, reasonably arises the question about the laboratory equipment utilization and its remote access. Engineering education without the "touch" to the laboratory equipment is impossible. In one hand, in almost every university lab there is a plenty of hardware equipment that is being used only when traditional classes are being conducted. What we need here is to find a solution to remove the boundaries of the real classroom and to provide remote access and feedback to this equipment. It must be reachable for the students, which are interested on making experiments or playing scenarios whenever they would like and no matter where they are located. The paper is focused on some details of building a remote access system for e-Learning purposes. The system grants remote access for the students to hardware development boards. It combines some features of the virtual e-Learning systems with the benefits of the classical teaching technologies. This is a key factor for the virtualisation process of engineers' training.

In recent years, remote work, driven by mobile technology, the availability of the Internet and the spread of COVID-19 limiting work to be done at the workplace, has become increasingly popular. Although it is very easy nowadays to do many kinds of work remotely, many companies still do not want to introduce such practices on a permanent basis. Therefore, the research aims to examine the experience of companies in remote work to identify the economic benefits of remote work as well as develop scenarios for remote work. The research methodology is based on case study analysis, comparative analysis, economic analysis and the scenario method. The results of the research revealed that potential financial savings from applying remote work practices in companies varied, depending on the specifics of the industry and jobs, as well as the funds that the company was initially willing to invest in its employees. For companies, the largest economic savings from applying remote work practices came from maintenance of premises, as well as electricity and Internet bills, while the provision of equipment to their employees accounted for the smallest proportion of preliminary cost savings. However, the main disadvantages of remote work were the difficulty of controlling employees, communicating effectively with each other and ensuring successful teamwork. Companies could introduce part-time work practices if a large proportion of the tasks could be performed remotely, yet only the companies with a high level of automation of tasks might fully switch to remote work.
