Streszczenie:
The thickness of the raft slab is determined by punching shear. The raft slab is commonly thick, which causes concrete volume is large. Mass concrete can bring disadvantage to the foundation. In order to increase the bearing capacity and reduce the thickness, it is suggested that the raft slab to be reinforced by steel fibers. There are five groups of specimens in this paper. S1 is the common reinforced concrete slab. S2 and S3 are concrete slabs reinforced by steel fibers broadcasted layer by layer when casting specimen. S4 and S5 are concrete slabs reinforced by steel fibers mixed homogeneously when making concrete. The punching shear tests of these slabs were done. The test results indicate that the punching shear capacity of the slab reinforced with steel fibers is higher than that of concrete slab, the stiffness and crack resistance of the steel fibers reinforced concrete slab are better than those of the common concrete slab and the punching shear of the slabs with different construction methods of steel fibers is similar. It analyses the punching shear behavior of the slab reinforced with steel fibers and suggests the ultimate bearing formula. The calculative values are coincided with the measured values well.

Streszczenie:
Abstract Raft foundations are essentially a slab that extends the entire length of the building, sustaining and dispersing its mass to the earth. A pile foundation is a collection of columns that are erected or inserted into the ground to distribute weight to the subsoil underneath. A pile is a long, cylindrical construction made made of a sturdy substance such as concrete. Building loads are transferred to hard strata, rocks, or high-bearing-capacity soil using piles. Pinned raft foundations are a combination of a pile and a raft slab. They’re frequently used for large structures and when the soil is insufficient to avoid excessive settling. As a result of this, the soil is less strained. Pile foundations are necessary in areas where buildings are large and heavy, yet the soil beneath them is weak. In areas where settlement. Deep foundations with pile rafts can help move strata Adding piles to a raft increases the effective size of the foundation and can help it sustain horizontal loads. On a G+20 residential structure, the research of raft, pile, and stacked raft foundations was conducted using structural software safe 16. For a zone factor II earthquake, a building’s seismic study is completed. The pile raft foundation has less upward soil carrying load and less settling than the raft foundation, according to a study of the G+20 structure for pile, raft, and piled raft foundations.

Foundation of building on concrete piles is often used when it is necessary to carry the load into larger depth as by common foundation. Bearing capacity of piles or piled raft foundation is wide area to research. This paper deals with experimental load test of concrete pile and with their numerical modelling. Several types of foundation construction were tested and two kinds will be presented and compared in this paper - reinforced concrete foundation slab and raft foundation (made of reinforced concrete foundation slab supported by drilled reinforced concrete pilot). These types of foundation constructions were constructed as models, in a reduced scale, approx. 1:10. The size had to be adjusted due to limited capacity of the testing equipment and financial reasons. Except measuring of the foundation behaviour, there was also carried out measurement of the adjacent terrain. The aim of this paper is to compare the behaviour of rigid slab and the piled raft. The measurement results will be then compared with the results of numerical modelling.

By comparing the stress and displacement of the anti-floating pile under different pile distance, the influence trend of the different anti-floating pile layout scheme on the mechanical property of the floating slab foundation anti-floating pile is explained, Then the optimal arrangement scheme of anti-floating pile was acquired. Under the action of vertical load, the anti-floating pile effectively reduces the average vertical displacement of the raft, and the raft foundation improves the bearing efficiency of the pile as well as the economic efficiency.

Streszczenie:
Introduction. The co-authors have analyzed a monolithic reinforced concrete piled raft foundation of a multi-storied residential building under construction. The mission of this research effort is to obtain trustworthy information about the internal structure of a foundation slab, to detect and survey internal defects, if any. This research project is to capture potential problems that may accompany the inspection of a foundation, to generate awareness about ground penetrating radar surveys and their methods that can help to optimize operating processes in the process of inspection. Materials and methods. The co-authors have employed a method of ground penetrating radar surveying, performed using a regular mesh of orthogonal projections over an easily accessible surface area of a raft foundation and several antennas producing sounding signals with centre frequencies varying within the range of 1,500 and 2,000 MHz. Results. A number of internal defects has been detected in the structure of a foundation slab, including several horizontal cold joints, cavity pockets and honeycombs. Their presence was later confirmed by control drilling and core material sampling. The information thus obtained was later generalized and entered into surface maps of cold joints, that depicted both the relief and the layout of detected defects in space. The analysis of core material chips has proven that reflecting boundaries are the same as those of the core material destruction; it has also demonstrated the presence of air pockets and the proofs of poor quality concrete mix compaction. Conclusions. The resolution of the ground penetrating radar method is sufficient to identify features of reinforced concrete slabs significant for their structure; it enables researchers to obtain trustworthy information about the internal structure of a foundation slab and make conclusions about the presence or absence of internal defects inside it, including cold joints, cavity pockets or honeycombs.

It’s a good mean to develop underground business street. But at South China, usually the underground water level is higher, while the weight of structures is smaller, so it causes a prominent problem—anti-floating of structures. These cases of failure including both whole anti-floating and partial anti-floating are reported occasionally. To thoroughly solve the problem of anti-floating, the foundation design of underground street structure is particularly important. At present there are two kinds of foundation design scheme of the underground street. The First is raft foundation plus anti-floating anchors, and the second is independent foundation plus waterproof plates. In this paper, according to practical underground business street, two kinds of foundation design scheme are used to calculate the foundation respectively. Conclusion are drawn: by means of raft foundation, the quantity of bars at Column pier is smaller than that by means of independent foundation; the quantity of bars at raft is bigger than that by means of waterproof plates; the quantity of bars at waterproof plate is bigger gained by means of experience coefficient method than that by mean of JCCAD.

Streszczenie:
Raft foundations are large inverted concrete slabs supporting superstructure through pedestals and walls. The choice of Raft slab can be made under following circumstances: 1) The bearing capacity of soil is low, 2) The columns are spaced so close that the isolated footings overlap 3) The column loads are heavy so that most of the area(>50%) is covered by spread footings. 4) At some locations, there is soft soil. Raft foundations are best suited to use for deep basements, both to spread the column loads uniformly, and to provide basement floor slab. Raft foundations are useful in reducing the differential settlements and sustaining large variations in loads on the individual columns. In conventional analysis of raft foundation, the reactive soil pressures due to the loads from the structure is important as the raft is subjected to bending due to loads from the structure and also from the reactive pressure offered by the soil. These effects considerably alter the forces and the moments in the structural members. In the present work, analysis is carried out for six different types of raft(i.e., flat plate raft, slab beam raft, flat plate raft thickened under column, flat plate raft with pedestal, box type raft and pile raft) on six different soils. These raft foundations are analyzed by using SAFE-v12software for a fifteen storied building on six different soil conditions. This fifteen storied building of 3 bay x 3 bay is analysed to get base reactions under columns using ETABS software. The deflections, punching shear, shear force and bending moments obtained for these rafts on various soils are compared. The result indicates the significant effects of shape of the flat plate thickened under column and flat plate with pedestal raft in resisting punching shear is more efficient among these types. Box type raft and Beam slab raft is more efficient in resisting shear force and bending moments.

ABSTRACT The Basin and Range Province is considered to be one of the most iconic continental rift provinces that postdates a prolonged orogeny. Here, I present evidence that challenges all the assumptions that lead to the long-held notion that gravitational collapse of thickened (55–65-km-thick) continental crust was a major driver of Basin and Range extension. This study focused on integrating the regional tectonic and magmatic history of the northeastern region of the Basin and Range (centered on the Albion–Raft River–Grouse Creek metamorphic core complex) and combines insights from a compilation of data from metamorphic core complexes worldwide to illustrate the effect of accounting for the magmatic histories when estimating pre-extensional crustal thickness. In the region of the Albion–Raft River–Grouse Creek metamorphic core complex, there is evidence of three Cenozoic extensional events and three coeval magmatic events. By taking into account the regional magmatic activity during the Cenozoic (Paleogene, Neogene, and Quaternary magmatism), and the inferred mantle-derived magmatic volume added to the crust during the process of extension, it is shown that the pre-extensional crustal thickness cannot have been more than ~53 km, and it was more likely close to ~46 km. This estimate is consistent with Eocene igneous geochemistry estimates of crustal thickness and with crustal thickness estimates from shortening of ~30-km-thick mid-Jurassic crust. During the Cenozoic evolution of the northeastern Basin and Range, the crust in the area of study thinned from ~46 km to ~32 km, and the elevation of the pre-extensional plateau collapsed from ~2.5 km to its present-day average of ~1.8 km. This study concludes that an alternative mechanism to predominantly gravitational crustal collapse is required to explain the extension in the region of the Albion–Raft River–Grouse Creek metamorphic core complex. I support recent interpretations that this mechanism involved the complex interaction of the removal of the Farallon flat slab (by slab roll-back or delamination of the slab) with the impingement of the Snake River Plain–Yellowstone mantle anomaly. The switch in the stress regime from compression (during the slab subduction) to a complex regime during slab roll-back, followed by extension (in the middle Miocene), and the associated mantle-derived magmatism, led to the thinning of the subcontinental lithospheric mantle, thermal weakening of the crust, and the thinning of the crust during the Cenozoic. This crustal extension is expressed as regional Basin and Range normal faulting and local vertical flow and exhumation of the mobilized middle crust at metamorphic core complexes like the Albion–Raft River–Grouse Creek complex.

Slab vibrations with frequencies of 10 Hz to 60 Hz with steps 5 Hz were induced by an electromagnetic vibration exciter. INV3062U data acquisition device and 941B sensor were used to measure the velocities in the vertical direction at six measurement locations on the slab surface. For single frequency, the measurement results showed that the peak values of the slab vibration velocities generally decayed nonlinearly as the distance increased, however, the attenuations of 25 Hz, 35 Hz, 40 Hz, 50 Hz and 60 Hz slab vibrations were not monotonically.

Streszczenie:
This paper investigates the vulnerability of a typical medium-rise circular RC building against progressive collapse as a result of blast generated waves. The building is an eight storied (including one story basement) commercial complex. The likely blast threat scenario was identified by qualitatively assessing the vulnerability of the critical elements of the structure. LS-DYNA was used for the finite element modelling of the structure. The study presents local model analysis of one of its circular columns for which fluid-structure interaction through Alternate Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) element formulation has been employed. The concrete volume in the columns was modeled using 8-node reduced integration solid hexahedron elements. The global model analysis was carried out to examine the overall response of the structure due to the failure of one of the critical columns. The building was modeled using beam and shell elements. The 2-node axial beam elements with tension, compression, torsion, and bending capabilities were employed to represent the RC beams and columns, whereas the four node quadrilateral and three node triangular shell elements were used to represent the core wall, floor slabs, retaining walls and facade. The column bases of the building were fixed at the level of raft slab. The results of the study are proposed to be used to control or prevent progressive collapse of RC buildings.

In this paper, we investigated the effect of thermal ageing treatment on tensile properties of the rods and plates. The microstructure was studied by OM (optics micrograph) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that by using the same heat treatment process, the tensile strength of the samples was 680MPa, the total elongation was 31%, which were better than the CLAM steel whose tensile strength and total elongation were 668MPa and 25% respectively. The difference between the transverse and the longitudinal properties was reduced markedly. So the ESR played an important part in improving the mechanical properties.

Kombinovanjem BRAF+MEK inhibicije postiže se produženje terapijskog odgovora, odgađanje rezistencija i smanjuje pojava novih kutanih SCC/KA udruženih s BRAF inhibicijom.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant genetic disease and is the most common neurocutaneous syndrome. It results from a defect in the gene located on chromosome number 17 that produces the protein neurofibromin, involved in controlling cell growth. Women with NF1 have a higher risk of developing breast and contralateral breast cancers. There is a relationship between high estrogen receptor (ER) and worse survival, which is also affected by the low overall life expectancy of patients with neurofibromatosis. Given that data also suggest that there are genes that interact with the NF1 gene, particularly in relation to the Breast Cancer gene 1 (BRCA1) subset. The interaction of altered expression of the NF1 neurofibromin protein in breast cell lines with upregulation of Ras is not inhibited through the PI3K and Raf/MAPK/ERK pathways. Increased PI3K activity has often been related to poor survival and resistance to hormone treatment in ER-negative breast cancer, while elevated Ras/MAPK/ERK activity has been related to metastasis and poor survival in both ER positive and negative. Mutations and deletions in NF1 are even more prevalent in HER2-amplified breast cancer subtypes and in basal tumor subtypes. In fact, all women with NF1, such as the case reported below, should start screening for breast cancer from the age of 30 and not from the age of 50 as in women not affected by the disease, as well as adequate and early counseling of oncogenetic. MSF, 56 years old, female, with neurofibromatosis was treated for invasive ductal carcinoma (ICD) in the left breast, RH negative in 2006, with mastectomy and axillary emptying, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Menarche at age 17, menopause around age 41, at which time she underwent chemotherapy, was nulliparous, and denied hormone use. She had a negative family history. She was admitted to the Mastology Unit of the HBDF in March 2021 with an ultrasound examination of the right breast on February 19, 2021, BIRADs 4 at the expense of a solid, irregular nodular image and imprecise limits at 12 o’clock, measuring 21×16 mm. On physical examination, nodular lesions (neurofibromas) of varying sizes were observed, distributed throughout the trunk and limbs, and a 3 cm nodulation was palpated in the upper internal quadrante (QSM) of the right breast, close to the NAC with a negative axillae and plastron on the left, staging cT2N0M0 — IIA. Core biopsy confirms CDI, grade II, with ductal carcinoma in situ present, and luminal B-like immunohistochemistry (IHC). Staging tests without an evidence of distant disease.
