The curved beam structure such as pipe system has been widely used in industrial plants or power stations. In this study, the reduction technique of stiffness matrix, which is refered to “transfer matrix method (TM)“, is developed to solve effectively the problem. For achieving the purpose, the transfer matrix Fk to transfer deformation, rotation, force and moment from node i to node i+1, which are named for both edges in k-th beam element, is formulated. The global transfer matrix is then constructed by multiplying as R(θk+1,k)·Fk···R(θ2,1)·F1···R(θk+1,k) is the coordinate rotation matrix. The efficiency and simplicity of this method is demonstrated by solving the problem of a curved pipe line with elbow which is subjected to external forces and displacements. The results are compared with those obtained by FEM.

We propose a rank metric codes based encryption based on the hard problem of rank syndrome decoding problem. We propose a new encryption with a public key matrix by considering the adding of a random distortion matrix over F q m of full column rank n. We show that IND-CPA security is achievable for our encryption under assumption of the Decisional Rank Syndrome Decoding problem. Furthermore, we also prove some bounds for the number of matrices of a fixed rank with entries over a finite field. Our proposal allows the choice of the error terms with rank up to r 2 , where r is the error-correcting capability of a code. Our encryption based on Gabidulin codes has public key size of 13 . 68 KB, which is 82 times smaller than the public key size of McEliece Cryptosystem based on Goppa codes. For similar post-quantum security level of 2 140 bits, our encryption scheme has a smaller public key size than the key size suggested by LOI17 Encryption.

The R-curve (KR versus crack length c) behavior has been examined in alumina-10 wt% zirconia ceramics with 3 mol% yttria stabilized zirconia, alumina-10 wt% zirconia ceramics with 12 mol% nano ceria stabilized zirconia and Al2O3-30 wt% Ti(C,N) ceramics. An observation of in situ microscopic long-through thickness crack growth during three point bending (3PB) of a single edge notched beam (SENB) enabled measurement of the R-curve. It was found that both aluminazirconia ceramics with yttria or ceria stabilized zirconia exhibit a rising R-curve while for Al2O3-30 wt% Ti(C,N) ceramics such relationship was not observed. Moreover the slow crack growth parameters (n, logA) were determined by means of load-relaxation technique for tested alumina matrix ceramics.

<abstract><p>We consider saddle point problem and proposed an updating $ QR $ factorization technique for its solution. In this approach, instead of working with large system which may have a number of complexities such as memory consumption and storage requirements, we computed $ QR $ factorization of matrix $ A $ and then updated its upper triangular factor $ R $ by appending the matrices $ B $ and $ \left(\begin{array}{cc} B^T &amp; -C \\ \end{array} \right) $ to obtain the solution. The $ QR $ factorization updated process consisting of updating of the upper triangular factor $ R $ and avoid the involvement of orthogonal factor $ Q $ due to its expensive storage requirements. This technique is also suited as an updating strategy when $ QR $ factorization of matrix $ A $ is available and it is required that matrices of similar nature be added to its right end or at bottom position for solving the modified problems. Numerical tests are carried out to demonstrate the applications and accuracy of the proposed approach.</p></abstract>

This paper considers a new method to solve the first-order and second-order nonhomogeneous generalized Sylvester matrix equations AV+BW= EVF+R and MVF2+DV F+KV=BW+R, respectively, where A,E,M,D,K,B, and F are the arbitrary real known matrices and V and W are the matrices to be determined. An explicit solution for these equations is proposed, based on the orthogonal reduction of the matrix F to an upper Hessenberg form H. The technique is very simple and does not require the eigenvalues of matrix F to be known. The proposed method is illustrated by numerical examples.

A technique for nonlinearization of the Lax pair for the scalar soliton equations in (1+1) dimensions is applied to the symmetric matrix KdV equation. As a result, a pair of finite-dimensional integrable Hamiltonian systems, which are of higher rank generalization of the classic Gaudin models, are obtained. The integrability of the systems are shown by the explicit Lax representations and r-matrix method.

AbstractFollowing the success of static analysis of free-free 2-D plane trusses by using a self-regularization approach uniquely, we further extend the technique to deal with 3-D problems of space trusses. The inherent singular stiffness of a free-free structure is expanded to a bordered matrix by adding r singular vectors corresponding to zero singular values, where r is the nullity of the singular stiffness matrix. Besides, r constraints are accompanied to result in a nonsingular matrix. Only the pure particular solution with nontrivial strain is then obtained but without the homogeneous solution of no deformation. To link with the Fredholm alternative theorem, the slack variables with zero values indicate the infinite solutions while those with nonzero values imply the case of no solutions. A simple space truss is used to demonstrate the validity of the proposed model. An alternative way of reasonable support system to result in a nonsingular stiffness matrix is also addressed. In addition, the finite-element commercial code ABAQUS is also implemented to check the results.

Alumina matrix was prepared with varying amounts of metal molybdenum particles of two different grain sizes. R-curves were determined during stable crack propagation and a piezo-spectroscopic technique was used to assess the bridging stresses developed along the crack wake (at the metal/matrix interface) at the critical condition for crack propagation. In both kinds of composites, the toughness monotonically increases with the amount of molybdenum added. In addition, bridging stress and therefore toughness were higher when coarser particles were present. The theoretical R-curves calculated from the discrete (microscopic) bridging stress distribution obtained by in situ Raman spectroscopy were in good agreement with the experimental data. In this study, photoionization (PI) of nickel ions Ni XII is performed using the relativistic close-coupling Breit–Pauli R-matrix method. The calculation includes 47 lowest target states of Ni XIII, which have been evaluated using a sophisticated configuration interaction technique. Results for the PI of the ground state 3s23p5 (2[Formula: see text]) and first excited state 3s23p5 (2[Formula: see text]) are provided. The PI of this Cl-like ion is characterized by multiple Rydberg series of autoionizing resonances converging to various ionic states of Ni XIII. Our background cross section agrees well with that obtained using the Los Almos National Laboratory PI code. The resonance energy levels and widths of the Rydberg series are presented using the Quigley and Berrington approach. We believe that our results will be useful for astrophysical plasma research.

Just storing the Hessian H (the matrix of second derivatives δ2E/δwiδwj of the error E with respect to each pair of weights) of a large neural network is difficult. Since a common use of a large matrix like H is to compute its product with various vectors, we derive a technique that directly calculates Hv, where v is an arbitrary vector. To calculate Hv, we first define a differential operator Rv{f(w)} = (δ/δr)f(w + rv)|r=0, note that Rv{▽w} = Hv and Rv{w} = v, and then apply Rv{·} to the equations used to compute ▽w. The result is an exact and numerically stable procedure for computing Hv, which takes about as much computation, and is about as local, as a gradient evaluation. We then apply the technique to a one pass gradient calculation algorithm (backpropagation), a relaxation gradient calculation algorithm (recurrent backpropagation), and two stochastic gradient calculation algorithms (Boltzmann machines and weight perturbation). Finally, we show that this technique can be used at the heart of many iterative techniques for computing various properties of H, obviating any need to calculate the full Hessian.

The method of constructing a complete set of “zero-operator” identities preserved by the matrix coproduct is shown to be general, and is used to build the operator bialgebra for the hexagonal-lattice dimer model. This technique is complementary to the RTT-equation, and does not require a solution to the Yang–Baxter equation. The resulting bialgebra in the case of hexagonal lattice dimers has a distinctly Yangian structure, but has no R-matrix or antipode.

The new expressions for the admittance parameters are expanded utilizing the technique postulated earlier by Dutta Roy and Kumar (2). A rational two-port lattice equivalent of the uniform R-C-NR structure is constructed. This proposed model is much more accurate over a much wider frequency range and is very much improved because it stimulates the characteristics more precisely and extensively.

One of the extreme efficient, important, and necessary means used to preserve the information and contents of the image through sending it over the Internet or network communication is image encryption. In this paper, a novel technology for images encryption has been proposed by using different methods. The proposed method consists of five stages. In the first stage, the original color image is divided into eight parts and shuffles it. The second stage separates the R, G, B matrix of the original image and then converts them into a binary code. Third stage generates secret keys by using singer map, where it can generate high pseudorandom sequences with high-speed performance. In the fourth stage, the logical XOR operator is applied to encrypt the image based on the three matrix and secret keys. Fifth stage is the process of decrypting which is the opposite of the encryption process. The suggested approach efficiency is validated via entropy, correlation, UACI and NPCR tests. Likewise, empirical outcomes and security test displayed that the proposed technology achieved secrecy and was capable of facing attacks and challenges.

This research aimed to develop a non-invasive method for identifying and detecting cholesterol levels. It has developed this innovative method and a Smart Controller to measure cholesterol levels. This research identified the cholesterol level under image processing based on hand-skin image processing. For the investigation, several sample pictures with and without cholesterol were taken. The kinds of samples are based on age classifications, for example, 20–40 and 40 < 60 years old. The 26 sample pictures were evaluated and investigated under the gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) for accuracy and simple analysis. This research used an artificial neural network (ANN) to train and test hand texture to detect cholesterol levels. This model performance was assessed using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and correlation coefficient (r). The Clarke Error Grid Analysis (EGA) of variance was employed in this investigation to determine the instrument's accuracy. The results indicated that the RMSE is appropriate as the standard value, r is 0.95, and Clarke EGA analysis: 92% and 88% for both age classifications.

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) is an electrolyte which behaves as important indicator for fuel cell’s performance. Research and development (R&D) on fabrication of desirable PEM have burgeoned year by year, especially for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). However, most of the R&Ds only focus on the parent polymer electrolyte rather than polymer inorganic composites. This might be due to the difficulties faced in producing good dispersion of inorganic filler within the polymer matrix, which would consequently reduce the DMFC’s performance. Electrospinning is a promising technique to cater for this arising problem owing to its more widespread dispersion of inorganic filler within the polymer matrix, which can reduce the size of the filler up to nanoscale. There has been a huge development on fabricating electrolyte nanocomposite membrane, regardless of the effect of electrospun nanocomposite membrane on the fuel cell’s performance. In this present paper, issues regarding the R&D on electrospun sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK)/inorganic nanocomposite fiber are addressed.

By mean of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) equipped with a reflexion high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED) technique, we have chosen an intermediate and appropriate substrate temperature of 130\(\r{}\)C to reproducibly synthetize high-T\(_{C}\) Ge\(_{1 - x}\)Mn\(_{x}\) nanocolumns phase. Laser Pulse Atom Probe Tomography (LP-APT) technique have been used to determine at atomic scale the chemical composition inside nanocolumns and also in the surrounding diluted matrix. The Mn concentration inside nanocolumns is found to be highly inhomogeneous, it is about 20\({\%}\) at the bottom and can increase up to \(\sim 40{\%}\) in the top near the surface region. The Mn concentration in the matrix is about 0.25\({\%}\) at the surface and can reach a highest value of $\sim $1{\%} in regions close to the interface.

In this study, AZ91/23 vol.% short carbon fiber composite was produced by a squeeze casting technique using a cylindrical pre-form of treated carbon fibers, in which the fibers are randomly oriented in the horizontal plane. Cylindrical specimens (height = 9 mm and diameter = 6 mm) were machined from the as-cast AZ91 matrix and its composite. The full behavior of the produced composite was studied through the test specimens machined in two directions, namely parallel to the reinforced plane (in the radial direction of the cast cylinder) and normal to the reinforced plane (in the axial direction of the cast composite). The microstructures of the produced composite specimens were investigated using SEM equipped with EDS analysis. Density, hardness, compressive, and wear behavior were also investigated. For comparison, the AZ91 matrix was evaluated as a reference. The microstructure of the produced AZ91 matrix alloy and its composite revealed dense materials without casting defects. Both composite specimens show improvement in hardness, compressive strength, and wear properties over the AZ91 matrix. The compressive and wear properties are more fiber orientation-dependent than the hardness results. The parallel composite specimen depicts the highest compressive properties in terms of yield compressive strength (311 MPa) and ultimate compressive strength (419 MPa), compared to that shown by the AZ91 matrix and the normal composite specimen. This improvement in compressive strength was at the expense of ductility. The parallel composite specimen shows the lowest ductility (R = 3.8%), compared to that given by the normal composite specimen (R = 7.1) and the AZ91 matrix alloy (R = 13.6). The wear testing results showed that at the highest wear load of 5 N, the material weight loss of the parallel composite specimen decreases by 44% and 64% compared to the AZ91 matrix and the normal composite specimen, respectively.

This research was conducted to find what marketing strategies are appropriate for the Yohanes Accounting Services Office in 2020. This research used data collection techniques by using interviews and observations. The data analysis technique uses the concept of Fred R. David's theory through 3 stages of strategic formulation, namely the input stage, matching stage, and decision stage. The input stage uses the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) Matrix and the External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix. The next stage used the SWOT Matrix and Internal-External (IE) Matrix. In the final stage using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The results showed that the total value for IFE is 2.7081 while the total value for EFE is 3.0850. In the Internal-External (IE) matrix, it is known that Yohanes's Accounting Services Office is in a position of growth and development. Strategies that are suitable for this position are market penetration strategy, market development strategy, and product development strategy. At the decision stage, from the QSPM results, the main strategy alternative to be applied is the market development strategy with a total value of attractiveness (TAS) of 6.7568. This strategy seeks to increase the market share of a product through efforts to make improvements, enhancements, and developments. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui strategi pemasaran apa yang sesuai diterapkan bagi Kantor Jasa Akuntan Yohanes pada tahun 2020. Pada tahap akhir menggunakan Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Berdasarkan hasil dari matriks IFE dan EFE yang dikumpulkan, dapat diketahui total nilai untuk IFE adalah sebesar 2,7081 sedangkan total nilai untuk EFE adalah sebesar 3,0850. Pada matching stage pada matrik SWOT didapatkan beberapa kemungkinan alternatif strategi dengan cara menggunakan kekuatan yang dimiliki untuk memanfaatkan peluang, memanfaatkan peluang untuk mengatasi kelemahan, menggunakan kekuatan yang dimiliki untuk menghindari ancaman dan meminimalisasikan kelemahan dan menghindari ancaman. Wavelet analysis has been the focus of active research for twenty years, both in theory and applications. In this work, we develop the concept of a class of multiple vector-valued trivariate wavelet wraps with a dilation matrix. A new method for constructing multiple vector-valued trivariate wavelet wraps is proposed. Their characters are investigated by means of operator technique, time-frequency analysis method and matrix theory. There orthogonality formulas regarding the wavelet wraps are provided. Orthogonality decomposition relation formulas of the space L2(R3, Cr×r)are obtained by constructing a series of subspaces of the multiple vector-valued wavelet wraps. Furthermore, several orthonormal wavelet wrap bases of space L2(R3, Cr×r) are constructed from the wavelet wraps. The pyramid decomposition scheme is obtained based on such a GMS and a sufficient condition for its existence is provided. Relation to theoretical physics is also discussed.

Data glove is a new dimension in the field of virtual reality environments, initially designed to satisfy the stringent requirements of modern motion capture and animation professionals. In this paper, we try to shift the implementation of data glove from motion animation towards signature verification problem, making use of the offered multiple degrees of freedom for each finger and for the hand as well. The proposed technique is based on the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) in finding r singular vectors sensing the maximal energy of glove data matrix A, called principal subspace, and thus account for most of the variation in the original data, so the effective dimensionality of the data can be reduced. Having identified data glove signature through its rth principal subspace, the authenticity can then be obtained by calculating the angles between the different subspaces. The SVD-signature verification technique is tested with large number of authentic and forged signatures, showing remarkable level of accuracy in finding the similarities between genuine samples as well as those differentiated between genuine-forgery trials.

Purpose. To quantify extracellular matrix expansion with the cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) T1 mapping technique and the derived extracellular volume fraction (ECV) in diabetic cardiomyopathy (DbCM) patients and to detect the relationship among ECV, duration of diabetes, and diastolic function. Materials. Thirty-eight patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy (20 males, age 54.6 ± 8.6 years) and thirty-two matched normal controls (15 males, age 51.4 ± 13.6 years) were prospectively enrolled. All of them were scanned by T1 mapping to obtain the native and postcontrast T1 values of myocardium and blood, and ECV was calculated accordingly. All patients also underwent transthoracic echocardiographic tissue Doppler imaging to assess left-ventricular diastolic function. Results. There was a significant difference in ECV between the two groups (DbCMs 30.4 ± 2.9% versus controls 27.1 ± 2.4%, P<0.001). The duration of diabetes was positively and strongly associated with ECV (R=0.539, P=0.0005). There was also a significant difference in ECV (P≤0.001) among four groups (A, controls; B, DbCM patients with duration of diabetes <5 years; C, 5–10 years; and D, >10 years). ECV was negatively associated with LV E’/A’ (R=−0.403, P=0.012). Conclusion. CMR T1 mapping can reflect myocardial extracellular matrix expansion in DbCM and can be a powerful technique for the early diagnosis of DbCM.

Ceramic particle reinforced metal matrix composites (PRMMCs) combine the strength and brittleness of ceramics with the toughness of a metallic matrix. In order to use these materials in construction and operational design their fracture mechanical behavior must be evaluated. In this study, a 30 vol.-% Al2O3 reinforced austenitic TRIP steel processed by powder metallurgical technique was investigated using precracked miniature SENB-specimens in 3-point-bending. An elastic-plastic analysis by means of the J-integral method in combination with optical crack observation showed the materials ability of stable crack growth, i. e. R-curve behavior. In addition to the mechanical tests microstructural studies were performed, whereby particle debonding and fracture as well as martensitic phase transformation and crack bridging within the matrix were identified as fracture energy dissipating mechanisms.

Abstract Given a high-dimensional data matrix $\boldsymbol{A}\in{{\mathbb{R}}}^{m\times n}$, approximate message passing (AMP) algorithms construct sequences of vectors $\boldsymbol{u}^{t}\in{{\mathbb{R}}}^{n}$, ${\boldsymbol v}^{t}\in{{\mathbb{R}}}^{m}$, indexed by $t\in \{0,1,2\dots \}$ by iteratively applying $\boldsymbol{A}$ or $\boldsymbol{A}^{{\textsf T}}$ and suitable nonlinear functions, which depend on the specific application. Special instances of this approach have been developed—among other applications—for compressed sensing reconstruction, robust regression, Bayesian estimation, low-rank matrix recovery, phase retrieval and community detection in graphs. For certain classes of random matrices $\boldsymbol{A}$, AMP admits an asymptotically exact description in the high-dimensional limit $m,n\to \infty $, which goes under the name of state evolution. Earlier work established state evolution for separable nonlinearities (under certain regularity conditions). Nevertheless, empirical work demonstrated several important applications that require non-separable functions. In this paper we generalize state evolution to Lipschitz continuous non-separable nonlinearities, for Gaussian matrices $\boldsymbol{A}$. Our proof makes use of Bolthausen’s conditioning technique along with several approximation arguments. In particular, we introduce a modified algorithm (called LoAMP for Long AMP), which is of independent interest.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic synovial inflammation. The insufficient immune clearance of the apoptotic cell results into the formation of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies which may play a critical role in the initiations of inflammatory responses. These antibodies together with Matrix Metalloproteinase-3 play an important role in joint destruction in rheumatoid arthritis disease.Objectives: to study the value of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies, and Matrix Metalloproteinase-3 in differentiation between active and inactive rheumatoid arthritis.Patients and Methods: A cross- sectional study was conducted on 60 Iraqi patients with rheumatoid arthritis (16 males and 44 females) aging from 29 to 74 years who presented to the Rheumatology Consultation Clinic of Baghdad Teaching Hospital / Medical City during the period of July 2013 to the end of October 2013. The patients were divided, according to rheumatoid arthritis activity depending on Disease Activity Score 28 and erythrocyte sedimentation rate, into two groups: 30 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis and the other 30 patients with inactive rheumatoid arthritis. Quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique was used to measure serum level of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies, and Matrix Metalloproteinase-3.Results: The means concentration of anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies, and Matrix Metalloproteinase-3 were significantly higher in rheumatoid arthritis cases with active disease compared to those with inactive disease. The disease activity index DAS28 showed a statistically significant strong positive (direct) linear correlation with serum MMP3 (r=0.762) and serum ACCP (r=0.806). In addition, serum MMP3 showed a statistically significant moderately strong positive (direct) linear correlation with serum ACCP (r=0.64). Both serum MMP3 and ACCP had a higher validity than blood ESR (which is used itself in calculating DAS28) is predicting an active disease status.Conclusion: Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies and Matrix Metalloproteinase-3 could be useful biological markers for assessment of rheumatoid arthritis disease activity.

Eating disorders are central reason of physical and psycho-social morbidity. Several factors have been identified as being associated with the prevalence and progression of eating disorders in humans. Scientific investigation was carried out to assess the usage of terms in manuscript titles of nearly 900 published articles followed by network analysis and network centralities using R programming. The tm package, term document matrix function was utilized to create a term document matrix (TDM) from the corpus. A binary word matrix comprising 17 terms was created based on higher probability of occurring a term in a column. An agglomerative hierarchical clustering technique using ward clustering algorithm was presented. A data frame from the TDM was created to store data and used to plot word cloud based on word frequencies. An undirected network graph was plotted based on terms that appeared in the term matrix. Centralization measures such as Degree centrality, Closeness, Eigenvector and betweenness Centrality were reported.

In recent years, the application of polymer nanocomposites has been enormously increased, particularly in aerospace and automotive sector due to its lightweight and high specific strength. In this study, nanocomposite materials with polypropylene (PP) matrix and Cloisite 30B (C30B) as reinforcing nanofiller with Elvaloy AC 3427 (EA) as compatibilizer were manufactured by melt intercalation technique with the aid of twin-screw extruder (TSE). The C30B with EA was reinforced in the PP matrix at 1, 2, 3 and 5 wt%. The PP/C30B/EA nanocomposites were processed in TSE with different barrel zones such as conveying zone, melting zone, mixing zone and plasticizing zone which helps in achieving homogenous dispersion of C30B in PP matrix. The processing parameters of TSE are twin-screw speed (65 r/min), volumetric feeder’s screw speed (7 r/min), degassing zone pressure (40 mmHg), cooling length (50 cm) and humped temperature profile (170–220°C). The processed PP/C30B/EA was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) for studying intercalation/exfoliation structure formation and transmission electron microscope (TEM) for studying the dispersion of C30B in PP matrix. The thermal characterization of PP/C30B/EA nanocomposites was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The addition of C30B at 5 wt% to PP/C30B/EA nanocomposites increased the DSC, TGA and DMA properties.

Surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) of R-phycoerythrin adsorbed by silver hydrosols was obtained. There are thirty-five lines in its SERRS spectra. However, there is a “fluorescent packet” in its Raman spectra only. All lines are covered up by the “packet”. The SERRS spectra were enhanced and the fluorescence was quenched rapidly because of the formation of the hydrosol/phycoerythrobilin (PEB) complex and the interaction with the SERS-active surface of the metallic base. The R-phycoerythrin consists of PEB and its surrounding protein matrix, but the lines of PEB appeared in R-phycoerythrin SERRS spectra only. This result indicates again that a competitive binding exists in the binding of protein-bound chromophore (R-phycoerythrin) components with silver hydrosols; thus, the chromophores (PEB) are mainly responsible for the SERRS effect. Therefore, the SERRS technique is very useful for studying protein-bound chromophores.

This article developed a functional integration matrix via the Hermite wavelets and proposed a novel technique called the Hermite wavelet collocation method (HWM). Here, we studied two models: the coupled system of an ordinary differential equation (ODE) is modeled on the digestive system by considering different parameters such as sleep factor, tension, food rate, death rate, and medicine. Here, we discussed how these parameters influence the digestive system and showed them through figures and tables. Another fractional model is used on the COVID-19 pandemic. This model is defined by a system of fractional-ODEs including five variables, called S (susceptible), E (exposed), I (infected), Q (quarantined), and R (recovered). The proposed wavelet technique investigates these two models. Here, we express the modeled equation in terms of the Hermite wavelets along with the collocation scheme. Then, using the properties of wavelets, we convert the modeled equation into a system of algebraic equations. We use the Newton–Raphson method to solve these nonlinear algebraic equations. The obtained results are compared with numerical solutions and the Runge–Kutta method (R–K method), which is expressed through tables and graphs. The HWM computational time (consumes less time) is better than that of the R–K method.

Compressive sensing is a very attractive technique to detect weak signals in a noisy background, and to overcome limitations from traditional Nyquist sampling. A very important part of this approach is the measurement matrix and how it relates to hardware implementation. However, reconstruction accuracy, resistance to noise and construction time are still open challenges. To address these problems, we propose a measurement matrix based on a cyclic direct product and QR decomposition (the product of an orthogonal matrix Q and an upper triangular matrix R). Using the definition and properties of a direct product, a set of high-dimensional orthogonal column vectors is first established by a finite number of cyclic direct product operations on low-dimension orthogonal “seed” vectors, followed by QR decomposition to yield the orthogonal matrix, whose corresponding rows are selected to form the measurement matrix. We demonstrate this approach with simulations and field measurements of a scaled submarine in a freshwater lake, at frequencies of 40 kHz–80 kHz. The results clearly show the advantage of this method in terms of reconstruction accuracy, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) enhancement, and construction time, by comparison with Gaussian matrix, Bernoulli matrix, partial Hadamard matrix and Toeplitz matrix. In particular, for weak signals with an SNR less than 0 dB, this method still achieves an SNR increase using less data.

The technique of quantum electrodynamics (QED) calculations of energy levels in the helium atom is reviewed. The calculations start with the solution of the Schrödinger equation and account for relativistic and QED effects by perturbation expansion in the fine structure constant α. The nonrelativistic wave function is represented as a linear combination of basis functions depending on all three interparticle radial distances, r1, r2 and r = |r→1−r→2|. The choice of the exponential basis functions of the form exp(−αr1−βr2−γr) allows us to construct an accurate and compact representation of the nonrelativistic wave function and to efficiently compute matrix elements of numerous singular operators representing relativistic and QED effects. Calculations of the leading QED effects of order α5m (where m is the electron mass) are complemented with the systematic treatment of higher-order α6m and α7m QED effects.

Setelah sistem model robot IPBD diperoleh, teknik kendali optimal dalam hal ini menggunakan linear quadratic regulator (LQR) digunakan untuk melihat step respon sistem dan tanggapan respon sistem terhadap gangguan. Sebelum kendali LQR diimplementasikan, simulasi menggunakan Simulink Matlab dilakukan untuk mendapat parameter gain K pada kendali LQR. Selanjutnya, dengan mengubah-ubah matriks pembobot Q akan diperoleh variasi gain K. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan variasi matriks pembobotan Q sebanyak lima jenis. Sedangkan matriks elemen R dituning dengan nilai satu. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh bahwa dengan membesarkan pembobotan matriks Q, dihasilkan respon menuju keadaan steady lebih cepat dan overshoot berkurang. Parameter gain K dari hasil simulasi selanjutnya akan diimplementasikan secara embedded programming ke dalam Arduino Uno pada sistem robot IPBD.Kata kunci: Inverted pendulum beroda, Pemodelan, LQR ABSTRACTThis paper describes the process of modeling two-wheeled pendulum inverted robots (IPBD) using the Lagrange dynamics. After the IPBD robot model system was obtained, the optimal control technique in this case using a linear quadratic regulator (LQR) was used to see the system response step and the response of the system response to interference. Before the LQR control is implemented, simulation using Matlab Simulink is conducted to get the gain K parameter on the LQR control. Furthermore, by varying the weighting matrix Q, the gain variation K will be obtained. There are five types of Q weighting matrix in this research and the R element matric is tuned with a value of 1. From the test, obtained results show that by raising the weighting matrix Q is produced a faster response to the steady state and overshoot is reduced. At the final stage, the gain K parameter from the simulation results will be implemented by embedded programming into Arduino Uno on the IPBD robot system.Keywords: Wheeled inverted pendulum, Modelling, LQR

This paper describes the development of a new type of selection procedure, the activity/achievement indicator (A/AI), and compares it with the behavioral consistency method of training and experience evaluation. Total scores from these two methods were found to correlate at r = .58. Examination of the six dimension scores of each method by means of the multitrait-multimethod matrix technique revealed convergent validity for only two of the dimensions, and discriminant validity for none. Implications of the findings are discussed.

Abstract Four polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix membrane electrodes responsive to 2 drugs affecting the urogenital systemoxybutynin hydrochloride (OX) and flavoxate hydrochloride (FX)were developed, described, and characterized. A precipitation-based technique with tungstophosphate (TP) and ammonium reineckate (R) anions as electroactive materials in a PVC matrix with an OX cation was used for electrode 1 and 2 fabrication, respectively. Electrode 3 and 4 fabrication was based on use of the precipitation technique of FX cation with tetrakis (4-chlorophenyl) borate and R anions as electroactive materials. Fast and stable Nernstian responses in the range 1 1021 106 M for the 2 drugs over the pH range 58 revealed the performance characteristics of these electrodes, which were evaluated according to International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry recommendations. The method was applied to FX and OX in their pharmaceutical formulations and in human plasma samples. The 4 proposed sensors were found to be specific for the drugs in the presence of up to 60 of their degradation products. Validation of the method according to the quality assurance standards showed suitability of the proposed electrodes for use in the quality control assessment of these drugs. The recoveries for determination of the drugs by the 4 proposed selective electrodes were 99.5 0.5, 100.0 0.4, 99.9 0.4, and 100.1 0.4 for sensors 14, respectively. Statistical comparison between the results obtained by this method and the official method of the drugs was done, and no significant difference found.

ABSTRACT Gingival recession is one of the most common soft tissue problems, especially when it hinders the esthetics of a patient. Gingival recession can further lead to root caries, sensitivity, and difficulty in plaque control. Moreover, exposed roots are prone to abrasion and erosion. Periodontal plastic surgery is one of the emerging fields, which helps to meet such soft tissue problems. Currently, a variety of techniques are being used for root coverage, like pedicle grafts, coronally advanced flap, free mucosal graft, epithelial connective tissue graft, guided tissue regeneration, and acellular dermal matrix. This article highlights a case that was successfully managed by double papilla graft technique in combination with amnion membrane for root coverage of Miller class II recession defect in the mandibular canine region. In this technique, the soft tissues adjacent to the recession area were positioned over the recession defect. The main advantage of this technique is that the flap remains attached at its base so that it retains its own blood supply during transfer to a new position. It also preserves the interdental papilla, thus preserving the gingival height. As an alternative to the epithelial connective tissue graft, amnion membrane has the advantage of no invasive palatal wound, regenerative potential, and improved esthetic results. Solving linear systems of equations is one of the most common and basic problems in classical identification systems. Given a coefficient matrix A and a vector b, the ultimate task is to find the solution x such that Ax=b. Based on the technique of the singular value estimation, the paper proposes a modified quantum scheme to obtain the quantum state |x⟩ corresponding to the solution of the linear system of equations in O(κ2rpolylog(mn)/ϵ) time for a general m×n dimensional A, which is superior to existing quantum algorithms, where κ is the condition number, r is the rank of matrix A and ϵ is the precision parameter. Meanwhile, we also design a quantum circuit for the homogeneous linear equations and achieve an exponential improvement. The coefficient matrix A in our scheme is a sparsity-independent and non-square matrix, which can be applied in more general situations. Our research provides a universal quantum linear system solver and can enrich the research scope of quantum computation.

In this study, a low-temperature normal atmosphere phosphor composite manufacturing technique based on the Sn-P-F-O glass system is proposed to solve the phosphor silicon difficulties of easy aging, low color rendering, oxygen and heat stability. To prepare ((BaSr)2SiO4:Eu2+) Green and (CaAlSiN3:Eu2+) Red phosphor in glass (PiG), the Sn-P-F-O glass precursor was sintered for 1 hour at 800 °C, then mixed with G/R phosphors. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) were used to investigate the crystal phase, microstructure, excitation and emission spectra of PiG. To investigate the mechanism of phosphor and matrix glass mixing ratio on optical performance of PiG-LED, the G/R PiG plate was utilized to encapsulate GaN LED chips and its optoelectronic performance was examined. Excited by current of 350 mA, G/R PiG-LED emits 6506 K correlated color temperature (CCT) white light when G/R ratio is 9:1, color rendering index as high of 90.4 when G/R ratio is 13:1.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly fatal disease, usually diagnosed in an advanced stage which gives a slight chance of recovery. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases that participate in tissue remodeling and stimulate neovascularization and inflammatory response. The aim of the study was to evaluate the expression of MMP-2, MMP-7, and MMP-9 in normal ducts, tumor pancreatic adenocarcinoma cells, and peritumoral stroma in correlation with clinicohistopathological parameters. The study material was obtained from 29 patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The expressions of MMP-2, MMP-7, and MMP-9 were performed by immunohistochemical technique. Microvessel density (MVD) was visualized by special immunostaining. The expressions of MMP-2, MMP-7, and MMP-9 were mainly observed in tumor cells and peritumoral stroma. MMP-2 expression in cancer cells was correlated with female gender, stronger inflammation, and histopathological type of cancer (R=0.460,p=0.013;R=0.690,p=0.0001;R=-0.440,p=0.005, resp.). The expression of MMP-7 in tumor cells was found to positively correlate with the presence of necrosis and negatively correlate with MVD (R=0.402,p=0.031;R=-0.682,p=0.000). We also showed that positive MMP-9 expression in tumor cells was associated with MVD (R=0.368,p=0.084); however, it was not statistically significant. Our results demonstrate that MMP-2, MMP-7, and MMP-9 expressions correlate with various morphological features of the PDAC tumor such as inflammation, necrosis, and formation of the new blood vessels.

This study aims to compare the performance of each method (hierarchical and non-hierarchical) of the grouping formed by several HDI from the 27 brazilian states, through the cluster analysis technique. As well as determining how many states there are in each formed group, to thus specify which technique best represents the data. Data from Atlas Brasil 2013 were used in relation to the 2010 HDI. For cluster analysis, the Mahalanobins matrix was used with the hierarchical method, from the data obtained, we applied the simple linkage methods, complete, average, ward liaison and a non-hierarchical method through the K-means method, the conphenetic correlation coefficient was also applied to measure the degree of fit between the original similar matrices and the resulting matrix of simplification provided by the grouping method. However, the method that best represents the data was the complete link. When grouping the states, the similarity between the HDI-R, HDI-L and HDI-S variables was considered this relationship formed similar groups between the connections from different regions of Brazil.

Silver indium cadmium (Ag–In–Cd) control rod is widely used in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, and it is continuously consumed in a high neutron flux environment. The mass ratio of 107Ag in the Ag–In–Cd control rod is 41.44%. To accurately calculate the consumption value of the control rod, a reliable neutron reaction cross section of the 107Ag is required. Meanwhile, 107Ag is also an important weak r nucleus. Thus, the cross sections for neutron induced interactions with 107Ag are very important both in nuclear energy and nuclear astrophysics. The (n, γ) cross section of 107Ag has been measured in the energy range of 1–60 eV using a back streaming white neutron beam line at China spallation neutron source. The resonance parameters are extracted by an R-matrix code. All the cross section of 107Ag and resonance parameters are given in this paper as datasets. The focus of this work was to study the effect of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on morphology, mechanical, and thermal properties of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) nanocomposites. MWCNTs/HDPE nanocomposites were prepared using submerged friction stir processing (SFSP) technique. The pristine MWCNTs without any pretreatment were blended with HDPE at a fixed traverse speed of 30 mm min−1 and various rotational speeds ranging from 1200 r min−1 to 2100 r min−1. The effect of rotational speed on MWCNTs dispersion in HDPE matrix was assessed using scanning electron microscopy. The experimental results showed the rotational speed affected the disperision of the MWCNTs. The mechanical properties of the composites were measured, and the results indicated that the tensile strength increased at first and then decreased with the increase of the rotation speed. The thermal properties of MWCNTs-filled HDPE nanocomposites were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, and the crystalline content of the prepared composites by the SFSP technology was increased. From the experimental research, it was found that the SFSP technique was a practical way to fabricate polymeric composites.

Magnetoelectric (1−x) BNT−xCFO nanoparticulate thin films with (x= 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) were fabricated by a chemical solution deposition technique. The X-ray diffraction shows that no other secondary phases are observed. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) revels that CFO nanoparticles were well distributed in matrix of BNT. The nanocomposite films exhibit both good magnetic and ferroelectric properties at room temperature (R-T), as well as enhanced magnetoelectric coupling. The composite withx= 0.2, showed the large value ofMEvoltage coefficient (αE) ~ 163 mV/cmOe. TheseMEcomposites provide a great opportunity as potential lead free systems forMEdevices.

Elastic alpha-particle scattering from the nuclei 28 Si , 30 Si and 36 Ar has been examined using the Thick Target Inverse Kinematics technique. Excitation functions for high excitation energy in the intermediate nuclei 32 S , 34 S and 40 Ca have been constructed and analyzed in an approximative manner using a simplified R -matrix approach. The analysis reveals many similarities between the three cases, and shows groups of resonances of increasing spin with increasing energy, consistent with a picture of a rotating surface of a few alpha-particles orbiting an inert core.

AbstractR-MAT (for Recursive MATrix) is a simple, widely used model for generating graphs with a power law degree distribution, a small diameter, and communitys structure. It is particularly attractive for generating very large graphs because edges can be generated independently by an arbitrary number of processors. However, current R-MAT generators need time logarithmic in the number of nodes for generating an edge— constant time for generating one bit at a time for node IDs of the connected nodes. We achieve constant time per edge by precomputing pieces of node IDs of logarithmic length. Using an alias table data structure, these pieces can then be sampled in constant time. This simple technique leads to practical improvements by an order of magnitude. This further pushes the limits of attainable graph size and makes generation overhead negligible in most situations.

Using the technique of the quasigraded Lie algebras, we construct general spectral-parameter dependent solutions r12( u, v) of the permuted classical Yang–Baxter equation with the values in the tensor square of simple Lie algebra [Formula: see text]. We show that they are connected with infinite-dimensional Lie algebras with Adler–Kostant–Symmes decompositions and are labeled by solutions of a constant quadratic equation on the linear space [Formula: see text], N ≥ 1. We formulate the conditions when the corresponding r-matrices are skew-symmetric, i.e., they are equivalent to the ones described by Belavin–Drinfeld classification. We illustrate the developed theory by the example of the elliptic r-matrix of Sklyanin. We apply the obtained result to the explicit construction of the generalized quantum and classical Gaudin spin chains.
