Pełny tekst źródłaUbiquity of mobile interactive devices either in professional, cultural or domestic domain constitutes a new research perspective to both individual and cooperative usage of new communication technologies. Mobile technologies rise, among others, new questioning about mobile usability specific issues, adapted methodologies and field data collection, identification of relevant contextual factors for mobile systems design, superimposition of interaction spaces. We believe that mobility is a new interaction paradigm carrying potential contextual variations, preventing traditional direct manipulation from being the most appropriate interaction style without serious adaptation because it currently requires a high level of visual attention. In this PhD, we first present a review of current knowledge concerning Context Aware Computing (CAC) as well as mobile and multimodal interaction. We then present an empirical study of a mobile multimodal application in the context of a situated collaborative quiz-answering task. Based on quantitative and qualitative results, our research first describes global and individual usage of the available modalities (tactile and vocal). In a second time, we study the influence of some identified internal and external contextual factors on the modalities selection,. For instance, we examinate the impact of factors such as noise context, social context or history of the interaction on the modalities usage. A third part of our results highlights the relation between users choice of a modality depending on the attentional resources required by the mobile interaction. All along the quantitative results, an extensive analysis of qualitative data such as user's verbalisation during self confrontation sessions, or activity chronicles examination, allowed us to argue and explain some modality choices and helped us identify some new factors taken into account by the users. Finally, we use these results to propose some models for mobile multimodal applications, as well as some criteria and recommendations for their design

Pełny tekst źródłaOur research is a part of the project “Interaction and Knowledge in the learning environments for object oriented modeling" conducted in the LIUM laboratory. The aim of our work is to study and organize interaction in a learning environment of modeling in order to design a generic model of interaction applicable to different fields of computer modeling. In the project and our work, we study in particular the case of object oriented modeling. We propose a model of interaction which consists of four elements: (1) A set of tasks and activities that aim to promote learning and engage different skills of modeling, especially on the metacognitive level. (2) Different modes of interaction between the learner and the learning environment based on the integration of the problem text at the interface, a set of graphical tools for modeling and a scenarisation of activities in the environment. (3) metacognitive helps that aim to encourage the learner to monitor and evaluate its activity in the learning environment. (4) feedback given to the learner to encourage him to evaluate his solution. We have implemented our model of interaction in DIAGRAM, a learning environment for object oriented modeling developed within the framework of the project “Interaction and Knowledge in the learning environments for object oriented modeling" and we have conducted several experiments of DIAGRAM to validate our propositions

One of its main findings concerns the importance of the framing process of the pedagocical interaction centred on the knowledge acquisition and also on the valuation process. Autonomy in this sens is understood as a contextual learning process where the pupil learns to build a certain distance to his role as a pupil. The fiel work is constituted of seven case studies drawn from the professionnal experience of the author. Being originally a teacher, the researcher was able to show the importance of the background expectancies of both parts, teacher and pupil, on the organization of the pedagogical action. The main argument developed is that the pupil's autonomisation process is closely combined with the self-organization of the pedagogical interaction. That is why the author is particularly concerned with the contextual details revealing the internal structuring process of the pedagogical interaction. The analysis focus on dimensions that are usually not taken into account, such as the role of constraining procedures, objects and routines, the way in which odd elements are brought up - and delt with - by the pupils and the teacher within the pedagogical activity, the importance of the framing process for the development of the interaction, etc

More precisely, its purpose is to determine which factors govern the emergence of a memory bias in depression. True, numerous authors revealed a phenomenon called "mood congruence memory effect" by which congruent information with mood is best memorized than non congruent information. Hence, this phenomenon means that memory efficiency is biased by the congruence of the material to memorize and the emotional state. Four experiments aim at clarifying the conditions in which this memory bias appears and also the processes at stake when it appears. It turns out that the memory bias appears as much in explicit memory than implicit memory. Besides, automatic processes seem to be responsible for its emergence. Although quite new, these results allow to keep the basic principles of the Bower's (1981) and Beck's (1976) models, which support than the memory bias can appear automatically. On the other hand, they run counter to the theory of Williams, Watts, MacLeod, and Mathews (1988), which postulates that the memory bias in depression is due to a best elaboration of the congruent material with depressive mood

Pełny tekst źródłaTouch in social interaction has been widely studied in co-presence. Its numerous functions in interaction have been highlighted in various contexts. Context which is crucial for the understanding of the meaning of touch. However, the studies carried out with mediated touch devices have been conducted without an interactional context. Following an interactionist approach to communication, we consider that meaning is coconstructed in the interaction by the participants ina dynamic context. We have constructed a methodological framework to highlight the meanings of mediated social touch, as well as the processes underlying their co-elaboration in interaction. First, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has allowed us to understand how individuals collectively negotiate their social touch practices. Second, a study of mediated social touch without an interactional context, enable us to show that mediated touch can communicate emotional meanings from visual-tactile stimuli. Third, through two interaction studies using similar technological devices, we were able to highlight numerous functions of mediated social touch, falling into the three categories seen in copresence, with a redistribution of functions between the interaction modalities in comparison to co-presence interactions. We have also highlighted the processes that allow the coelaboration of functions, which are mainly based on contextual cues

Pełny tekst źródłaCette thèse s’inscrit dans une approche incarnée et située de la cognition humaine et de l’ergonomie des interfaces Homme-Machine (IHM). En rupture avec les théories computo-symboliques, cette approche considère que la cognition a pour seule vocation l’action dans le but de s’adapter au monde. Appliquée à l’ergonomie des IHM, elle met l’accent sur la perception, l’action et le contexte comme éléments clés de l’interaction Homme-Machine. Cette vision de l’ergonomie est ici mise au service de la conception de stations sol de drones militaires, sur lesquelles le manque de sollicitations perceptivo-motrices et le caractère isolé des opérateurs contribuent à une accidentologie symptomatique. L’objet de cette thèse est donc de montrer en quoi l’approche incarnée et située permet de guider une démarche ergonomique et, en particulier, la conception de deux stations sol de drones militaires développés par Airbus Defence and Space. Dans un premier temps, une analyse centrée sur les aspects moteurs, perceptifs et contextuels de l’activité des opérateurs de drones est réalisée. La seconde étape est dédiée à la définition d’une organisation matériel-logiciel standardisée pour tous types de drones. Cette organisation repose sur l’exploitation de processus perceptivo-moteurs, notamment au moyen du paradigme Stimulus-Response Compatibility (SRC). En troisième lieu, est présentée la conception matérielle et logicielle de deux stations sol de drones adaptées à leurs contextes respectifs d’utilisation. Des moyens de vérification (e.g. tests utilisateurs) sont mis en œuvre pour valider les solutions proposées. Les résultats obtenus montrent que la démarche adoptée permet d’améliorer significativement certains aspects de l’activité des opérateurs de drones, en particulier en termes de performances et de charge mentale. D’autre part, ces travaux soulignent l’intérêt de l’approche incarnée et située, et sa forte valeur applicative tant au sein de la démarche ergonomique que dans un cycle de conception industrielle

The foreign brands and domestic brands intensely compete to share the internal market. One of the efficient competition strategies is focusing on creating a pleasant experience for customers through an outstanding atmosphere and excellent service quality. Consequently, experiential marketing has attracted much interest from researchers in this industry. Abundant studies have been published in the near period to investigate the role of service environment and social interactions to customer behaviors. Nevertheless, there are several research gaps in this field. A significant lack of empirical works investigates the impacts of servicescape on customers’ perceived social interaction as a considerable example. The importance of social interactions in service establishments has been less explored, particularly customer-to-employee interaction and customer-to-customer interaction. The relationship between service experience, customer satisfaction and loyalty has been scarcely examined. Besides, very few studies have investigated service experience in the café environment. In another field, the influences of servicescape on its users (staff, service employees, contact personnel) have almost been ignored in previous publications. Consequently, there is a considerable research gap that concentrates on understanding the impacts of servicescape attributes on both experiences of customers and employees in the café setting. In order to fill in this gap, a survey study carried out at 185 coffee outlets with 1779 customers and 608 employees in the three largest cities in Vietnam through self-administered questionnaires. The structural model and hypotheses were tested through the PLS-SEM technique by Smartpls 3.0 application. The results denoted that the positive evaluation of customers towards the café servicescape is likely to foster the social interaction quality of customers with employees and other customers as well as increase the experience quality. Also, the findings signified that customers’ perceived social interactions (employees, other customers) are a critical determinant of experience quality in the café environment. Moreover, social interactions and service experiences considerably influence the development of customer satisfaction and loyalty to coffee establishments. Additionally, the results proved that the pleasant presence of tangible conditions in the café setting is likely to make employees achieve a better job experience, induce positive emotional experiences and foster social interaction quality. This study also found that the physical workspace, social interaction and emotional experience are the important antecedents of job experience quality in the café environment. Furthermore, it has been argued that employee inner emotion and job experience substantially determine the extent of employee satisfaction towards the current job. The findings revealed that the emotional states that employees experienced in their workspace is closely associated with the perception of customers about interaction quality with employees. Moreover, this study validated the causal interrelation between job satisfaction, service satisfaction and customer loyalty. This research provides several critical contributions for theoretical applications and managerial applications in the café industry. It also identifies some limitations in the current study and suggests some research directions in the future

Using the methodology resulting from gestures studies and contributions of the literature on the organisation of interactions, we try to answer the following question: what is the overall structural organisation of the doctor/patient interaction, when this last is training to break the news of a damage associated with care? The analyses carried out in this thesis allow us to describe the doctor/patient interaction during training to break the news by proposing different phases that make up the interaction, as well as details about their division and their articulations. They are an indispensable and usable base for computer scientists to design and implement a credible "patient" conversational agent that can be used in physician training. Located at the heart of an interdisciplinary project, this thesis in linguistics makes it possible to transpose the interactional practices of physicians with a view to the implementation of a virtual agent by computer scientists

Pełny tekst źródłaThis study examines the contextualising functions of voice in interaction as a sign or a mark of role, of place relation proxemy, and of positions negociated by speakers during interaction. The goal of the study, rather than to identify isol vocal markers, attempts to focus on the context operating mode of speakers voices. After a survey of the existant literature, the study proceeds to the analysis of two differents types of corpus. The first, an experimental corpus, involves the solicitation of judgements about speaker relations. A panel of judges li to dialogues utteredin "glossolalie", articulate but meaningless speech. Their judgements are then compared with another set of judgements made by the same panel of judges on voice qualification. An acoustic analysis is then carried out in o to point out the markers associated with the relationship judgements. The second consists of naturally occuring conversational data recorded among midwives in their normal working situation. The goal of second corpus is to validate and to widen the results obtained with the experimental corpus. The methods used to analyse the natural corpus are those used in conversational analysis associated with acoustic analysis. The study concludes with a discussion of the different fonctions of voice in verbal communication, including the nature vocal facts as well as the conceptualisation of their pragmatic motivation

In everyday life, time never comes alone, but coupled with other environmental stimuli, including movement. This thesis is therefore to know the influence of moving stimuli on judgment times. For this, we have presented at twelve subjects, using fMRI, pairs of visual either immobile or provided with a movement. Each pair of stimuli stimulus consists of a "reference" and a stimulus "test", the subject would then compare the durations of the two stimuli. Our results show that treatment durations is easy for moving stimuli and that treatment involvest the left and right cerebral hemispheres differently

Pełny tekst źródłaThe objective of this research is to study the dialogued achievement of the abstract version of the selection, in particular the socio-cognitive processes concerned in this achievement. With this intention, we make 32 dyads achieve the task in situation of cooperative dialogical resolution. We analyze the 32 dialogues produced with a theory of the logical form of the interlocutory events such as they present ourselves phenomenally, with natural language whose sequential production is distributed on several interlocutors : the interlocutory logic. In a first analysis, we describe the characteristics of the 32 dyads from the point of view of their social management and their cognitive management of the task. In a second analysis, we concentrate on the dialogues of the 4 dyads which achieve the task successfully. We show, contrary to the assertion of many researchers in psychology of the reasoning, that these dyads actually build reasoning when they achieve the task. Lastly, we highlight the discursivo-cognitive structure built by each of the 4 dyads

Four focuses were respectively followed : about the causal attribution, the representation of the possible and the necessary, the natural categorisations of the notions cause and contingent, and the representations of interaction. The different modalities of causality : statical causality, accident causality, interventionnist causality elaborated by a groupe of students of the 3rd, 2nd and last term about the beginning of the French revolution, were highlighted on how these were represented in a world of a texte concerning this event and the cognitive processes used for the comprehension of this texte. The study of the organisation of these students reasonings about the inevitability of the French revolution has elucidated the modalities of the destructuration of the necessary at the first. The hypothesis launched about the representations of the probable and unforceable action introduce the construction of the possible and the detachement of the retrospective fatality. Observing the natural definitions produced by these students to give sense to the notions of cause and contingent, we highlighted various cognitive-discursive strategies : metaphors, analogies, metonymies, constructions by prototypes, by temporal and fonctional proprieties, by operating attributes, and a variety of representations of these notions
