The innovation actors (public laboratories, from R & D, local authorities, etc.) are committed increasingly to alternative models distributed design. The "lead-users" to "crowdsourcing", these distributed collaborative design models are notably supported the potential of dissemination and communication offered by the Internet and the pooling of resources authorized. The ambition here is to build open development and cooperation areas, bringing together designers from different backgrounds and multiplying collaborative interfaces with experienced users in order to lead to the joint definition of new products combining technologies and skills made each entity involved.The thesis proposes to develop knowledge and operate a reflexive return from case studies on these new models of market intermediation and innovation. She tries to reason with the cooperative exchange by focusing on the one hand to devices that support (interfaces) on the other hand the construction of the operating rules of this type of "modular community" (individuals scattered geographically, organizational, cultural, diversity of profiles), however, engaged in the sharing of knowledge and integration skills around new technological assemblies. Pełny tekst źródłaIn this thesis, we have studied an effective parallel hybrid method of solving linear systems, GMRES / LS-Arnoldi, which accelerates the convergence through knowledge of some eigenvalues calculated in paralled by the Arnoldi method in real cases. The asynchronous nature of this method has the advantage of working with a heterogeneous architecture. A study in complex cases is also done by transforming the complex matrix into a real matrix of double dimension. We have implemented our hybrid GMRES method and the general GMRES method on three different types of hardware platforms. They are respectively the IBM SP series supercomputer, a typically centralized hardware platform; Grid5000, a fully distributed hardware platform, and the Tsubame (Tokyo-tech Supercomputer and Ubiquitously Accessible Massstorage Environment) supercomputer, where some nodes are equipped with an accelerator card. We have tested the performance of general GMRES and hybrid GMRES on these three platforms, observing the influence of various parameters for the performance. A number of meaningful results have been obtained; we can not only improve the performance of parallel computing but also specify the direction of our future efforts

It aims at improving the understanding of digital platforms' governance decisions and their resulting market outcomes.The first chapter theoretically explores the effect of interoperability on competition between two ad-financed platforms, allowing for endogenous multi-homing of consumers. Interoperability emerges in equilibrium if the value of multi-homers relative to single-homers is sufficiently low for advertisers. This equilibrium level of interoperability is however misaligned with social welfare maximization. In markets dominated by one platform, mandating interoperability between the asymmetric platforms is not always socially optimal.The second chapter empirically investigates the issue of self-preferencing on hybrid platforms, using web-scraped data from the Amazon marketplace. It appears that Amazon makes the visibility of offers of third-party suppliers in the "buybox" dependent on prices on competing marketplaces. Amazon's own offers are however visible regardless of their competitiveness. Furthermore, the absence of seller recommendations makes recommendations to related products more effective and Amazon tends to steer consumers in these situations more often to products it sells itself. Overall, this illustrates how self-preferencing can appear in subtle forms.The last chapter theoretically examines the incentives of hybrid platforms to invest in screening tools to detect and delist illegal third-party products. Whereas platforms engage in screening to the extent that it accommodates entry, more vertically integrated platforms tend to screen less due to the business-stealing effect it induces. Additionally, platforms conducting screening charge higher commission fees to sellers. This strategic complementarity can lead to a negative relationship between platforms' degree of vertical integration and the level of commission fees.These three chapters highlight the complex nature of digital markets and the need for regulatory intervention to be carefully calibrated

Pełny tekst źródłaThe work presented concern the analytical modeling and optimization of high speed permanent magnet synchronous machines for Hybrid Electric traction motor.However, such an application accumulates difficulties of electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical order. The first part is interested in establishing a state of the art of the high-speed applications’ particularities. Then, a simplified multiphysic and analytic modeling was implemented to conduct a first comparison between four kinds of PM rotors. This was based on a multi-objective optimization in order to optimize the delivery speed while improving the cycle efficiency. In order to achieve the desired performance, precise multiphysics interactions’ modeling was performed. Bolts opposing this improvement are well known and are mainly related to the compactness of the desired structures.The core of the proposed interactive modeling is the electromagnetic modeling which, using a reluctance network, allows to choose between two kinds of control: current control or voltage control. The high speed constraint requires serious interest to iron and mechanical losses. In this work, we are interested in developing a mechanical model which estimates the maximum speed which can be integrated easily into an optimization procedure. Indeed, due to exponential growth of data traffic inside datacenters, an alternative solution to metallic interconnects has been proposed to address very high transmission rates while ensuring a low energy consumption and a reasonable cost. Promising applications are in the field of both long- and short-distance optical communications. Long-range interconnects between datacenter equipment currently target an aggregate throughput of 400 Gb/s while short-reach interconnects are involved in high performance computers between a processor and a memory bank.STMicroelectronics has been developing a silicon photonic platform on 300 mm wafers since 2012. The main objectives are: the design of passive and active optical components to achieve an elementary 20 Gb/s transceiver, the increased integration of electro-optic devices to form a photonic interposer, the ability to manage several wavelengths.In this context, this PhD report deals with a testchip development at wafer level, proposing the integration of anelectro-optic transmitter. This solution benefits from the three dimensions assembly architecture of the dies within the photonic interposer and can handle the heterogeneity of electrical and optical components.This work first proposes to study the optical modulator which is based on a ring resonator. The ring bandwidth is optimized to operate up to 50 Gb/s. Secondly, the 55nm CMOS electrical driver design is described and the trade-off between transmitter speed and power consumption is highlighted. Both devices are fabricated on distinct technological platforms, then characterized and analyzed with respect to their respective models. A first integration of the complete transmitter is assembled through wire-bonding method, which enables to validate the transmitter operation. Finally, the last part of the report is devoted to the preparation of a 3D demonstrator based on micro-copper pillars assembly. The demonstrator integrates a wavelength division multiplexed link with 16 channels, which is expected to achieve a total throughput of 320 Gb/s. In addition, the system study enables to ensure that the final interconnect will respect power consumption constraints

Its development has been favored by the interest for Man to have autonomous entities capable of helping him to perform actions that are difficult or impossible for human being, either because of their painfulness or because of their dangerousness. The Mobile robotics, one of the sectors of robotics, pursues this objective thanks to technological and scientific advances in different areas such as mechanics, electronics, automation and computer science. These robots navigate autonomously in complex environments and over long periods of time. Their algorithms guarantee a certain robustness while dealing with foreseen situations.However, in some situations (malfunctioning of a physical component of the robot, loss in GPS signal while executing a trajectory tracking task, etc.), the appearance of a fault may cause the robot to fail in its mission.In order to avoid this type of situation, real-time fault diagnosis integrating a human operator in its fault detection and fault accommodation loops appears to be a possible and potentially effective solution. The work described is aimed at this objective. It offers, on the one hand, a fault diagnosis supervision system of a mobile robot and, on the other hand, a set of tools for modeling, parameterizing and applying for diagnosis methods to potential fault of a robot.The first part of the contributions is composed of two modules. The first module is a hybrid diagnostic method that implements several approaches and types of fault diagnosis approach. This method can diagnose a defined list of faults in real time. The second is a human/robot interaction module allowing the integration of the operator in the diagnostic loop by proposing/validating solutions and by correcting, if necessary, the decisions made by the proposed hybrid method. This module integrates a knowledge database and a case-based reasoning algorithm allowing to save the history of the decisions made by the operator, considered expert, in order to improve his performance continuously.The second part details the approach done off-line and upstream to the implementation of the hybrid diagnostic method. This approach includes the characterization of the considered faults, the definition and the adaptation of the diagnosis methods making it possible to diagnose the identified faults. The adaptation consists of defining the models, adjusting the parameters and, in some cases, collecting training data. From experimental point of view, the theoretical developments are validated on data coming from a real skid-steering robot and from simulations.Literally, this document details these works in five chapters. The first chapter introduces the context of the thesis. The second defines the problem statement, the proposed hypotheses and describes the state of the literature of fault diagnosis methods. Theoretical developments concerning fault diagnosis supervision system of mobile robotics and the tools leading to its configuration are described in two chapters that follow. The application results of the theoretical developments in simulation and on a real robot case are shown and discussed in the fifth chapter. Finally, a conclusion and the possible perspectives of this work are presented

These illness affect millions of people around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts a 3 fold increase in the number of patients in the next 30 years.Advances in neuroscience have led to the development of models describing the physiology of neurons and also methods of hardware implementation of these models. Among these methods, neuroprosthesis are devices for restoring certain neuronal functions through communication with the nervous system.This thesis work show that the realization of the biomimetic system was carried out thanks to digital components such as Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which allows to benefit from the flexibility and speed of prototyping of these technologies. The real-time platform of biologically realistic neural networks developed is configurable. It becomes a neuro-computational tool allowing the realization of bio-hybrid experiments for the study of the behavior of the nervous system and more particularly of the neurodegenerative diseases.This work was placed in a larger context. The FPGA digital operator library developed for the platform has been reused for the study of dynamics similar to neural networks such as biochemical network simulation or combinatorial optimization problem solving

Pełny tekst źródłaNanotechnology research activities have been intensifying for several decades as a result of its high potential in the development of a wide range of applications ranging from medicine to future’s energy. Research has led to the emergence of many nanoparticles with tunable properties by modifiying the composition, size, shape or surface properties. This versatility has led to the emergence of multifunctional nanoparticles that have demonstrated clinical interest in medical imaging or cancer therapy. More recently, research has focused on the assembly of nanoparticles into nanostructures in order to combine their properties within the same particle. This PhD manuscript present a novel process of self-assembling of inorganic nanoparticles into nanocapsules, stabilized by a polymer and called Hybridosomes®. In a first part, we present the characteristics of this new class of nanocapsules through the study of the process of self-assembly and with a full set of characterization techniques. We also present their evaluation as contrast agent for Magnetic Resonnance Imaging (MRI). Moreover, we propose future research outlooks for Hybridosomes® as a potential multifunctional platform for medical imaging and therapy. In a second part, we present the application of Hybridosomes® in the self-construction of the first nanostructured films by an electro-click process. Through several analysis techniques we demonstrate the versatility of such constructed films and their cargo release properties triggered by different stimuli. In a third part, we enlarged the process of self-assembly to another type of nanoparticles: octahedral molybdenum clusters. For the first time, nanocapsules and nanospheres exclusively based on A2[Mo6Li8La6] clusters have been self-assembled. These new types of nanomaterials have been characterized and evaluated regarding their catalytic properties

Pełny tekst źródłaFollowing a brief presentation of the Korean education system, and a brief history of French language teaching in this region, from the first French missionaries to the success of the Delf-Dalf certifications, we sought to understand why, the teaching of French does not seem to have the same appeal to most of the 27,000 Korean high school students to whom it is still being taught today. Considering the recommendations of the European Commission for language teaching, giving particular attention to the conclusions of the cognitive sciences in education, we shall demonstrate that the enrolment of French exchange students as peer instructors, along with online engaging activities, would likely revive the interest of those young Korean learners. Analyzing the technological habits of this generation who was born with the Internet, led us to believe that, despite the reluctance of teachers to use these so-called ‘educational’ technologies, their implementation seems indeed appropriate, first to drive practices forward, and furthermore, to make human encounters easier. We will share our views on how our roles as instructors have evolved since setting up a participatory teaching network among secondary school and undergraduate students of French. The analysis of the interviews and surveys we have been conducting periodically over several years, in order to probe the difficulties of developing such a site, shows that beyond technology, designing and sharing teaching resources has opened promising and unexpected perspectives: along with increasing usage of internet technologies, lively student interaction is still an essential part of language acquisition

Many explanatory ideas have been put forward based on local perception. In each of these cases progress has been possible because the collective-level phenotype is obvious and observable to the naked eye, but also because of the objective function targeted in the understanding of these behaviours. Here I constructed a machine-ecosystem hybrid that involve an observation device, coupled to a light landscape generator in an automated loop that contain a learning process at every step based on data captured from the ecosystem being observed. In order to break the reality gap between modelisation and reality, taking into account the deep complexity of the studied system as the modelisation can then co evolve with the observed matter, that is reactive toward the adaptive landscape that interact with it, and then reach unexplored and not experimentally implementable fields of heuristic. My project involves several stages. Construction of the hybrid. Application and development interaction algorithms. Establishment of simple microbial populations that can be sustained and whose behaviour can be manipulated via the machine. Experiments to demonstrate proof of principle

Pełny tekst źródłaThis thesis aims at extending the Dual-Grid FDTD (DG-FDTD) application domain via its hybridization with the Iterative Physical Optics (IPO) method. This research was motivated by the need to evaluate accurately and efficiently the antenna pattern of surrounded antennas installed on large platforms (satellite, vehicle, space launcher). Overview on numerical method involved in this class of problem revealed DG-FDTD has interesting features. This method allows precise and efficient wide-Band simulations of surrounded antennas. However, this method remains costly for electrically large problems, especially because of its rigorous formulation. This thesis assessed the limitations of DG-FDTD and then put forward its inability to resolve antenna on platform problems. To answer this issue, a hybrid scheme combining DG-FDTD with IPO is proposed in this thesis. DG-FDTD/IPO divides the initial simulation into two successive simulations. The antenna and its vicinity are firstly analyzed with DG-FDTD, and then IPO is used to analyze the platform. The two simulations are interfaced using the equivalence principle. This new method is first validated using a canonical scenario. Then, it is applied to the computation of electromagnetic radiation pattern in two antenna on platform problems (antenna on vehicle especially). The method is then exploited to effectively analyze the radiation pattern of a surrounded antenna mounted on a platform. Two improvements are finely proposed in this thesis for DGFDTD/ IPO. The first one aims at taking into account for the backward coupling between the antenna region and the metallic platform. This improvement implies a coarse description of the antenna region in the IPO simulation. The second improvement concerns the modeling of the currents in the shadow areas of the platform. This improvement answers to the need to analyze precisely antenna-On-Launcher problems. Indeed IPO do not compute currents in shadow areas. Well, for this kind of problem, shadow areas represent almost all the platform. A new method based on IPO and called Domains Sequential Processing is proposed. This method is first validated using a canonical scenario involving a cylinder. Then it is successfully applied to the analysis of a spatial launcher

The several advantages of wireless sensor networks (easy deployment, ability to adapt on different environments and low energy consumption) offer many possibilities for energy management systems. The aim of this thesis is to study and implement a wireless network sensors inside trains for energy efficiency. Thus, some communication protocols dedicated to energy management were presented and then a comparative study of the various wireless communication networks carried out. This comparative study shows that the ZigBee network is the most suitable for the platform. The proposed hybrid architecture allows the use of the existing IP network as the backbone of all ZigBee networks. In order to take into account the effect of the railway environment in the planning and deployment of the network, a study of the propagation channel was carried out, based on measurements realized in a subway and a RER car. The impact of the coexistence between ZigBee and WiFi and of the human presence on wireless communication have been demonstrated. The question that guides our research is: How to explain the use or non-use communication tools of learning platforms of higher education? Are the activities of learners with platform communication tools (discussion forums) are knowledge activities? We have been situated in an interpretative epistemology, which oriente our attention on the discourses of interviewees (teachers and students) in two different cultural contexts, the University of Lorraine in France and universities of Tlemcen and Ouargla in Algeria. We examine media coverage of knowledge by convening the concepts of knowledge activities (Gérard, 2000) to analyze the discourse on activities that students are communication tools.At the end of our empirical study, we show that a hybrid device communication tools platform for learning open a range of possibilities but does not select for themselves the path that will monitoring for mediatisation of knowledges among learners. It responds to social and educational constraints facing uses. The mediatisation of knowledges is the product of interactions between all opened by the communication tools of learning platform opportunities, other communication practices, and social and educational constraints (role of the teacher, student engagement, ...) which characterize the context of inserting these communication devices. In this educational context, we found it almost impossible to imagine a process of appropriation discussion forums it is exclusively individual. It always passes through others and social relationships and even the process of knowledge construction

Pełny tekst źródłaThe concept of hybrid training, combining activities in presence and distance, most often supported by a digital platform, before 2020 was a niche solution, little recognized. It was forcibly democratized with the covid-19 pandemic, even forcing the emergence of a new form of hybridization where the two modalities merge. The first definition of hybrid training appeared in 1995, written by Didier Valdès in his thesis for Paris 2 Panthéon Assas. He pointed out a certain number of criteria essential to the design of such training. However, the historiography concerning the study of these, from a erspective of definition, evaluation and design, was quickly turned upside down by the emergence of web 2.0. The design criteria adopted became more and more numerous and technical, the authors interviewing only a part of the actors (teachers or students), without a global vision and without taking into account their real activity. This approach, not integrating the activity of their operators, leads to complex hybrid training courses to be followed both for students and teachers, who may even be resistant to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). ) employees, or even to training in general. We are therefore looking to observe a hybrid training taking into account the activity of the operators, in order to deduce design tracks more in line with it. We employ an ethnocentric methodology, based on the theoretical framework of the activity, with an associated method - in particular the notions of prescribed and real. We thus seek to go beyond the usual dichotomies with machine / without machine, and presence / distance. We refer particularly to the activity theory developed by Yrjö Engeström, and to the instrumental theory of Pierre Rabardel. We observe a hybrid module of initiation to information and Pix certification within a university course More specifically, we have retained for the analysis a chapter of the course comprising a 1h30 face-to-face session and work to be done remotely. All the data available over this observation period is used, i.e. a heterogeneous set including open observations in class, video recordings, interviews carried out with users and designers, questionnaire for students, collection of emails from the teacher, data generated through the IT platform, and presence on student workspaces and exchanges such as Facebook and Google Drive. These data are combined in quantitative and qualitative ways, and analyzed through the production of detailed chronologies, Engeström contradiction tables, and a revised version of Gaëtan Bourmaud's Method of Failures and Substitutions of Resources (MDSR). We highlight a clear gap between prescribed and actual training (that is to say between training designed and in situ), resulting from a design in use carried out by the actors - teachers and students. This implies paradigm shifts, particularly with regard to student autonomy, the objective of the training which disrupts the position of the teacher. This conception in use is the result of a collective work of the operators (teacher and students), practically leading to a redesign of the training according to the needs actually felt. The design of a hybrid training in accordance with this activity would thus suppose to use the distance for what it is, in order to facilitate the creation of a community of university learning

Pełny tekst źródłaThe subject of this research concerns the interactive and reticulated pattern platforms that now populate our daily lives, and which first appear to us in the form of technical objects, but whose uses build social representations. We studied Informational mediations developed there by focusing on French in the context of its Thai students at the University, since French is a language deemed difficult, unrelated and distant. A double quantitative and qualitative analysis conducted in part with the NVivo software allowed us to update the fact that, in certain aspects and in certain environments, a digital social network like Facebook could facilitate informal apprenticeship participating in an economy of knowledge. We have identified specific uses and practices that are not those of a distance education platform designed as such. Thus, a certain creativity would be exercised in the construction of scripted audio-visual documents on mediating and multiplatform technical operational systems where the autonomy of the user would be culturally and socially situated according to identities, group memberships, perceptions, habits and other factors that structure its relationship to the world and will condition its desire, its manner and its practical ability to appropriate elements of language learning

Pełny tekst źródłaInitiatives aiming to develop carpools on a daily basis have been receiving increasing attention from private and public stakeholders since the rise of long-distance practice. This thesis analyzes how do carpooling services fit the field of public action and the transformations they cause on the mobility system in place. The thesis is structured in four parts. The theoretical and methodological framework specifies the research approach, which is anchored upon three entries: the relationship between the territory and the mobility system, the change in public action and the process of diffusion of innovations in society. These theoretical approaches are mobilized for an-swering to the research question and analyzing experiments of carpool services in the fringes of Ile-de-France (part 1). The second part traces the genealogy of carpooling and demonstrates how it becomes a new element of the public transport system and an object of public policies (part 2). We then study the diffusion process of the innovation and the extent of its integration into the public transport action (part 3), before analyzing the transformations caused on the mobility system (part 4).This research specifies how public policies promoting carpool were originally implemented to limit the negative externalities of the automobile system, and now tends to compete with the public road transport offer. This work then shows how a policy window open for the development of carpooling in France and exposes the difficulties that actors of the public action meets to appropriate this innovation. This research also presents the emergence of new forms of carpool infrastructure-related services, which favors the territorialization of carpool in the public transport policies and the integration of this mode of transport in the public’s utilities. Lastly, this research shows that, by tending towards a hybridization of public-private and individual-private transport models, carpooling un-dermines the principles of public service and promotes a liberal representation of the no-tion of general interest. In doing so, it is more likely that it strengthened the automobile system rather than it modifies it. Finally, this work demonstrate the limits of the growth and the individualization of mobility services and concludes by proposing ways to optimize carpooling by limiting the risk that the performance gains promised by this new model will reinforce, over time, the negative externalities of the automobile system

The hybrid marine-hydrogen active power generation system has been modeled to represent the component layer of the SGAM. The system integrates the MW scale PEM electrolyzer and fuel cell systems as the main energy balance components. The LiFePO4 battery is used to cover the fast dynamics of the electrical energy. Moreover, the thesis analyzes the centralized and the decentralized energy management system. The MAS (Multi-Agent Systems) represents the paradigm of the decentralized system. The JADE platform is used to develop the MAS due to its general domain of application, open source and free license software, interface with MATLAB and the computability with the FIPA (Foundation of Intelligent Physical Agent) standards. The JADE based energy management system balances the energy between the generation (marine-current energy conversion system) and the demand side (residential load profile) during the stand-alone and the grid-connected modes of operation. The proposed model of the SGAM can be considered as a pilot case study that enables the detailed analysis and the applications of the different smart grid research directions

Pełny tekst źródłaThis thesis aims to demonstrate the effective implementation of a hybrid approach for learning French as a second language with the application of “Ticéitude”, a practical new concept for language learning in the 21st Century. This concept is a process of self-progression that targets the development of autonomy in the learner and for self-motivation, while also developing an autotelic personality, which means a certain “well-being” in the process of learning and teaching. Education is evolving due to today’s fast progress in digital technologies and is changing the course of history. Also because of this fast paced progress, we are currently witnessing new innovative approaches almost everywhere around the world. These challenges imply the importance of improving the quality of learning materials that is made available to the general populace. Our model, which is called Ticéitude, is aimed towards a humanistic approach of learning in the paradigm of “apprenance”. The notion of Ticéitude is to create links in a rich and diversified network. It is based on a socio-constructivist model, which encourages collaborative learning; thus reinforcing the motivation and autonomy of learners. In this instance, the model is based on the Australian context following the different curriculum in the various states and territory of this country. A hybrid approach has been put in place to create accelerated learning, based on the process of self-progression that targets the development of autonomy in the learner and for self-motivation, while also encouraging the development of an autotelic personality. In today’s world, we live in a cognitive society of networking when one can learn whenever or wherever he/she wants. The notion of “teacher” is changing as we focus more about coaching than teaching. The platform, which we created, allows individual learning with the guidance of the coach (teacher); thus teachers becoming more like peers. Teachers provide guidance to the students, suggest new approaches and at the same time participate to the network of a “group focused social learning”. Ticéitude implies the utilisation of new technologies but with a humanistic approach; so those tools are used effectively in a sustainable environment aimed to develop French learning not only in Australia but also around the world
