The innovation actors (public laboratories, from R & D, local authorities, etc.) are committed increasingly to alternative models distributed design. The "lead-users" to "crowdsourcing", these distributed collaborative design models are notably supported the potential of dissemination and communication offered by the Internet and the pooling of resources authorized. The ambition here is to build open development and cooperation areas, bringing together designers from different backgrounds and multiplying collaborative interfaces with experienced users in order to lead to the joint definition of new products combining technologies and skills made each entity involved.The thesis proposes to develop knowledge and operate a reflexive return from case studies on these new models of market intermediation and innovation. She tries to reason with the cooperative exchange by focusing on the one hand to devices that support (interfaces) on the other hand the construction of the operating rules of this type of "modular community" (individuals scattered geographically, organizational, cultural, diversity of profiles), however, engaged in the sharing of knowledge and integration skills around new technological assemblies. Research areas to address these issues are organized around the instrumentation interfaces and coordination processes of economic and social exchange systems (contribution / reward) and operation and community control

Pełny tekst źródłaIn this thesis, we have studied an effective parallel hybrid method of solving linear systems, GMRES / LS-Arnoldi, which accelerates the convergence through knowledge of some eigenvalues calculated in paralled by the Arnoldi method in real cases. The asynchronous nature of this method has the advantage of working with a heterogeneous architecture. A study in complex cases is also done by transforming the complex matrix into a real matrix of double dimension. We have implemented our hybrid GMRES method and the general GMRES method on three different types of hardware platforms. They are respectively the IBM SP series supercomputer, a typically centralized hardware platform; Grid5000, a fully distributed hardware platform, and the Tsubame (Tokyo-tech Supercomputer and Ubiquitously Accessible Massstorage Environment) supercomputer, where some nodes are equipped with an accelerator card. We have tested the performance of general GMRES and hybrid GMRES on these three platforms, observing the influence of various parameters for the performance. A number of meaningful results have been obtained; we can not only improve the performance of parallel computing but also specify the direction of our future efforts

It aims at improving the understanding of digital platforms' governance decisions and their resulting market outcomes.The first chapter theoretically explores the effect of interoperability on competition between two ad-financed platforms, allowing for endogenous multi-homing of consumers. Interoperability emerges in equilibrium if the value of multi-homers relative to single-homers is sufficiently low for advertisers. This equilibrium level of interoperability is however misaligned with social welfare maximization. In markets dominated by one platform, mandating interoperability between the asymmetric platforms is not always socially optimal.The second chapter empirically investigates the issue of self-preferencing on hybrid platforms, using web-scraped data from the Amazon marketplace. It appears that Amazon makes the visibility of offers of third-party suppliers in the "buybox" dependent on prices on competing marketplaces. Amazon's own offers are however visible regardless of their competitiveness. Furthermore, the absence of seller recommendations makes recommendations to related products more effective and Amazon tends to steer consumers in these situations more often to products it sells itself. Overall, this illustrates how self-preferencing can appear in subtle forms.The last chapter theoretically examines the incentives of hybrid platforms to invest in screening tools to detect and delist illegal third-party products. Whereas platforms engage in screening to the extent that it accommodates entry, more vertically integrated platforms tend to screen less due to the business-stealing effect it induces. Additionally, platforms conducting screening charge higher commission fees to sellers. This strategic complementarity can lead to a negative relationship between platforms' degree of vertical integration and the level of commission fees.These three chapters highlight the complex nature of digital markets and the need for regulatory intervention to be carefully calibrated

Pełny tekst źródłaThe work presented concern the analytical modeling and optimization of high speed permanent magnet synchronous machines for Hybrid Electric traction motor.However, such an application accumulates difficulties of electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical order. The first part is interested in establishing a state of the art of the high-speed applications’ particularities. Then, a simplified multiphysic and analytic modeling was implemented to conduct a first comparison between four kinds of PM rotors. This was based on a multi-objective optimization in order to optimize the delivery speed while improving the cycle efficiency. In order to achieve the desired performance, precise multiphysics interactions’ modeling was performed. Bolts opposing this improvement are well known and are mainly related to the compactness of the desired structures.The core of the proposed interactive modeling is the electromagnetic modeling which, using a reluctance network, allows to choose between two kinds of control: current control or voltage control. The high speed constraint requires serious interest to iron and mechanical losses. In this work, we are interested in developing a mechanical model which estimates the maximum speed which can be integrated easily into an optimization procedure. The model is then coupled with a particle swarm algorithm in order to involve the optimal sizing approach.These works join within the framework of the project ANR AAP TTD "e-MECA" (électromécanique Embarquée à Compacité Améliorée) where the partners are: Valeo (project leader), SKF, IFPEn, TEMPO, Dynfluid and SATIE

Indeed, due to exponential growth of data traffic inside datacenters, an alternative solution to metallic interconnects has been proposed to address very high transmission rates while ensuring a low energy consumption and a reasonable cost. Promising applications are in the field of both long- and short-distance optical communications. Long-range interconnects between datacenter equipment currently target an aggregate throughput of 400 Gb/s while short-reach interconnects are involved in high performance computers between a processor and a memory bank.STMicroelectronics has been developing a silicon photonic platform on 300 mm wafers since 2012. The main objectives are: the design of passive and active optical components to achieve an elementary 20 Gb/s transceiver, the increased integration of electro-optic devices to form a photonic interposer, the ability to manage several wavelengths.In this context, this PhD report deals with a testchip development at wafer level, proposing the integration of anelectro-optic transmitter. This solution benefits from the three dimensions assembly architecture of the dies within the photonic interposer and can handle the heterogeneity of electrical and optical components.This work first proposes to study the optical modulator which is based on a ring resonator. The ring bandwidth is optimized to operate up to 50 Gb/s. Secondly, the 55nm CMOS electrical driver design is described and the trade-off between transmitter speed and power consumption is highlighted. Both devices are fabricated on distinct technological platforms, then characterized and analyzed with respect to their respective models. A first integration of the complete transmitter is assembled through wire-bonding method, which enables to validate the transmitter operation. Finally, the last part of the report is devoted to the preparation of a 3D demonstrator based on micro-copper pillars assembly. The demonstrator integrates a wavelength division multiplexed link with 16 channels, which is expected to achieve a total throughput of 320 Gb/s. In addition, the system study enables to ensure that the final interconnect will respect power consumption constraints

Its development has been favored by the interest for Man to have autonomous entities capable of helping him to perform actions that are difficult or impossible for human being, either because of their painfulness or because of their dangerousness. The Mobile robotics, one of the sectors of robotics, pursues this objective thanks to technological and scientific advances in different areas such as mechanics, electronics, automation and computer science. These robots navigate autonomously in complex environments and over long periods of time. Their algorithms guarantee a certain robustness while dealing with foreseen situations.However, in some situations (malfunctioning of a physical component of the robot, loss in GPS signal while executing a trajectory tracking task, etc.), the appearance of a fault may cause the robot to fail in its mission.In order to avoid this type of situation, real-time fault diagnosis integrating a human operator in its fault detection and fault accommodation loops appears to be a possible and potentially effective solution. The work described is aimed at this objective. It offers, on the one hand, a fault diagnosis supervision system of a mobile robot and, on the other hand, a set of tools for modeling, parameterizing and applying for diagnosis methods to potential fault of a robot.The first part of the contributions is composed of two modules. The first module is a hybrid diagnostic method that implements several approaches and types of fault diagnosis approach. This method can diagnose a defined list of faults in real time. The second is a human/robot interaction module allowing the integration of the operator in the diagnostic loop by proposing/validating solutions and by correcting, if necessary, the decisions made by the proposed hybrid method. This module integrates a knowledge database and a case-based reasoning algorithm allowing to save the history of the decisions made by the operator, considered expert, in order to improve his performance continuously.The second part details the approach done off-line and upstream to the implementation of the hybrid diagnostic method. This approach includes the characterization of the considered faults, the definition and the adaptation of the diagnosis methods making it possible to diagnose the identified faults. The adaptation consists of defining the models, adjusting the parameters and, in some cases, collecting training data. From experimental point of view, the theoretical developments are validated on data coming from a real skid-steering robot and from simulations.Literally, this document details these works in five chapters. The first chapter introduces the context of the thesis. The second defines the problem statement, the proposed hypotheses and describes the state of the literature of fault diagnosis methods. Theoretical developments concerning fault diagnosis supervision system of mobile robotics and the tools leading to its configuration are described in two chapters that follow. The application results of the theoretical developments in simulation and on a real robot case are shown and discussed in the fifth chapter. Finally, a conclusion and the possible perspectives of this work are presented

These illness affect millions of people around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts a 3 fold increase in the number of patients in the next 30 years.Advances in neuroscience have led to the development of models describing the physiology of neurons and also methods of hardware implementation of these models. Among these methods, neuroprosthesis are devices for restoring certain neuronal functions through communication with the nervous system.This thesis work show that the realization of the biomimetic system was carried out thanks to digital components such as Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which allows to benefit from the flexibility and speed of prototyping of these technologies. The real-time platform of biologically realistic neural networks developed is configurable. It becomes a neuro-computational tool allowing the realization of bio-hybrid experiments for the study of the behavior of the nervous system and more particularly of the neurodegenerative diseases.This work was placed in a larger context. The FPGA digital operator library developed for the platform has been reused for the study of dynamics similar to neural networks such as biochemical network simulation or combinatorial optimization problem solving

Pełny tekst źródłaNanotechnology research activities have been intensifying for several decades as a result of its high potential in the development of a wide range of applications ranging from medicine to future’s energy. Research has led to the emergence of many nanoparticles with tunable properties by modifiying the composition, size, shape or surface properties. This versatility has led to the emergence of multifunctional nanoparticles that have demonstrated clinical interest in medical imaging or cancer therapy. More recently, research has focused on the assembly of nanoparticles into nanostructures in order to combine their properties within the same particle. This PhD manuscript present a novel process of self-assembling of inorganic nanoparticles into nanocapsules, stabilized by a polymer and called Hybridosomes®. In a first part, we present the characteristics of this new class of nanocapsules through the study of the process of self-assembly and with a full set of characterization techniques. We also present their evaluation as contrast agent for Magnetic Resonnance Imaging (MRI). Moreover, we propose future research outlooks for Hybridosomes® as a potential multifunctional platform for medical imaging and therapy. In a second part, we present the application of Hybridosomes® in the self-construction of the first nanostructured films by an electro-click process. Through several analysis techniques we demonstrate the versatility of such constructed films and their cargo release properties triggered by different stimuli. In a third part, we enlarged the process of self-assembly to another type of nanoparticles: octahedral molybdenum clusters. For the first time, nanocapsules and nanospheres exclusively based on A2[Mo6Li8La6] clusters have been self-assembled. These new types of nanomaterials have been characterized and evaluated regarding their catalytic properties

Pełny tekst źródłaFollowing a brief presentation of the Korean education system, and a brief history of French language teaching in this region, from the first French missionaries to the success of the Delf-Dalf certifications, we sought to understand why, the teaching of French does not seem to have the same appeal to most of the 27,000 Korean high school students to whom it is still being taught today. Considering the recommendations of the European Commission for language teaching, giving particular attention to the conclusions of the cognitive sciences in education, we shall demonstrate that the enrolment of French exchange students as peer instructors, along with online engaging activities, would likely revive the interest of those young Korean learners. Analyzing the technological habits of this generation who was born with the Internet, led us to believe that, despite the reluctance of teachers to use these so-called ‘educational’ technologies, their implementation seems indeed appropriate, first to drive practices forward, and furthermore, to make human encounters easier. We will share our views on how our roles as instructors have evolved since setting up a participatory teaching network among secondary school and undergraduate students of French. The analysis of the interviews and surveys we have been conducting periodically over several years, in order to probe the difficulties of developing such a site, shows that beyond technology, designing and sharing teaching resources has opened promising and unexpected perspectives: along with increasing usage of internet technologies, lively student interaction is still an essential part of language acquisition
