One of the factors the Yogyakarta government built Yogyakarta International Airport was because the capacity of the Adisutjipto airport was only able to accommodate 1.2 million passengers but in reality the number of passengers could reach five times the capacity. Due to the very busy flight schedule and inadequate airport capacity, since 2020 the average flight has been diverted to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) "quoted from the official Adisutjipto airport website". The location of the airport which is far from the city center has had an impact on the development of mass transportation modes of the Railroad as a direct connector between the airport and Yogyakarta city center. The YIA Airport Train Station will begin operating in October 2021. In this relatively new period, it is necessary to evaluate the service facilities on the Airport Railroad and at the YIA Airport Station. The purpose of this research is to prove to what extent services both on the train and at the YIA airport station have met minimum service standards and to produce new innovations on the effectiveness of train scheduling related to the level of passenger satisfaction. The government itself has Minimum Service Standards for the Transport of People by Train which are listed in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Number PM 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for the Transport of People by Train, at Stations and on Trips. The regulation has 6 types of services, namely: Safety, Security, Reliability/Organization, Convenience, Convenience, and Equality. To find out whether the 6 types of services meet service standards, an evaluation can be carried out using qualitative methods with data collection techniques by direct observation in the field and through questionnaires, so that it is known that the implementation of minimum service standards at the Airport Railway and at YIA Airport Station . The stages required in conducting this research include: preparation, problem identification, data collection method by collecting primary data, namely through direct observation and online questionnaire distribution, both of which are analyzed descriptively, data evaluation, discussion, as well as conclusions and suggestions. The results obtained from this study are that there are still several service facilities that are inappropriate or not available in the station such as toilets, prayer rooms, no smoking prohibited signs, no seats available for persons with disabilities and so on, and the contents of the first aid kit are not found on the train , the temperature inside the train is not suitable, not all passengers can sit especially when the train is crowded and so on. Through the results of these observations to ensure the level of service, questionnaires were distributed and analyzed. Broadly speaking, the questionnaire shows that passengers expect the availability of toilets and prayer rooms at the station, the number of seats in the waiting room needs to be increased, the temperature in the room is considered, and the addition of the train departure schedule should be adjusted to the arrival and departure of the plane so that passengers do not wait too long. Forced cultivation and its following period successfully increasing income from agricultural products, especially plantations, which then encouraged the development of railroad transportation in Java. The construction of the railway line to Garut was carried out simultaneously with the construction of the Bandung--Cilacap line on the Cicalengka--Cibatu--Garut section. This route was extended to Cikajang and was planned to Pameungpeuk. The problem posed in this paper is the position of the Garut--Cikajang line in the development of the railway in southern West Java during the Dutch colonial period. To answer the problem, a descriptive analytical method with a spatial approach was used. Data collection was carried out through a literature review and field observations. The construction of the Garut--Cikajang line is part of the plan to build a railway line connecting the main route with the southern coast of West Java which is intended to facilitate the transportation of people and products from the South Garut area. The archaeological remains in Cikajang station area shows that this line is part of a grand plan to build a railway line connecting the main line with the southern coast of West Java.

Analysis of arrangement of the local operation during freight transportation by the multimodal railway-water transport to Tobolsk river port of the Ob-Irtysh bassin is presented. Dynamics of growth of construction cargo loading and increase of the volumes of their transportation to the port enhance the working capacity of Sverdlovsk railroad, which increases the loading level of its processing and carrying capacities. It should be noted that the level of quality and reliability of such transportation is reduced in the period of the transport infrastructure repair, when the number of the freight trains temporarily removed from operation is grown at the approaches to the port railway station. The search for the possible solutions of arranging the local operation was conducted at the route limited in the carrying and processing capabilities, in particular at the interaction of two types of transport: railway and inland water transport. Effective solutions for automation of the processes of adaptive approval of the volume of transported cargo are proposed, as well as the methods and options of their transportation at all stages of transportation services, forecasting and planning of the regional freight transportation as a part of the inter-industry transportation. The “Electronic service of the complex transportation services” system is presented, which provides for selection of the best option of effect on the main quality criteria of the regional freight transportation and ensures self-arrangement and self-support of the process when its conditions are changed under the impact of external and internal factors. The system calculates the economically feasible mode of transportation, performs adaptive approval of the volumes of transported cargo at all stages of the technological cycle of rendering complex transportation services. The system provides for information and analytical support of the functions of planning, arrangement of local operation, and collection, analysis, and processing of statistical data. Methods of the system construction are used for control of the transportation services when arranging the car traffic volume of inert cargo making the forecast of their delivery. The “Electronic service of the complex transportation services” system has passed the state registration.

The implementation of sustainable transport systems has become a requirement in the policy and management strategies in handling the problems of not fully integrated transportation infrastructure network, transprotation service network and the level of public transport service in the development of a transportation network. As today, reactivation of the Railway line from Cibatu-Garut is being carried out, with the length of the Cibatu-Garut railway line being around 19.2 km. Some of the old stations used include Garut Station, Wanaraja Station and Pasir Jengkol.Station. From the results of data collection that has been carried out, it is necessary to increase the role of other public transportation as advanced transportation and increase accessibility and integration of public transport services at the transportation node (train station) by developing advanced transportation services and good modal transfer facilities. So that a sustainable transportation system will be done.

Over the course of the 19th century, the former Cataract House Hotel of Niagara Falls, New York, became one of the largest hotels in the region while also serving as an important “station” on the Underground Railroad. A park now occupies the area covering its demolished ruins. Since 2017, archaeological excavations of the site have taken place, led by the Anthropology Department at SUNY Buffalo. Although much is known about the overall design of the Cataract House Hotel, a clearer understanding of its construction phases, as well as its role in the Underground Railroad, could be determined from spectroscopic analysis in tandem with ongoing archaeological investigations. In 2022, in situ data collection was performed on plaster walls at the excavation site using a portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) instrument. These elemental data were used in conjunction with archaeological information to form conclusions regarding different construction phases of the hotel. Samples of plaster walls were also collected for further ex situ analyses with pXRF and portable laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (pLIBS) in a laboratory setting. Future work will include data collection and analysis by additional spectroscopic methods of other artifacts collected at the site, such as pigment samples removed from an unearthed stone step.

Horace Kephart was born in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Mountains. After graduation from Cornell University, he secured a position cataloguing a private book collection in Italy and then worked at the Yale University Library. Later, he served as director of the St. Louis Mercantile Library. Kephart had a lifelong fascination with the pioneer lifestyle. In his early forties, disenchanted with urban, domestic life, he began seeking respite through camping trips in the Ozarks. In 1904, following separation from his wife and children, Kephart settled in Hazel Creek, North Carolina, then a remote mountain community sixteen miles from the nearest railroad station. During his three years at Hazel Creek, Kephart integrated himself into mountaineer culture and kept twenty-seven journals of his observations....
