Streszczenie:
Vibration at the pedal-pad may contribute to the discomfort of the foot plantar fascia during driving. In this study, the experiment is conducted using a "five-time repeatability" test of the same procedure and shall determine root-mean-square vibration magnitude and vibration transmissibility on Z-axis or vertical vibration magnitude for the three different sizes of pedal-pad on tarmac and paved surface. ISO 2631-1:1997 is used for frequency-weighting (Wk) in one-third octave step with a range of frequency 0.5 Hz to 80 Hz in vertical vibration. The analysis is divided into two; frequency-weighted acceleration and frequency-weighted root- mean-square acceleration on vibration magnitude; and vibration transmissibility. The result shows that small pedal-pads at a resonance frequency of 4 Hz and 10 Hz give high value on frequency-weighted acceleration compared to medium and large sized pedal-pads. The frequency-weighted RMS acceleration on the tarmac and paved road surfaces show that small pedal-pad also give high value compared to medium and large sized pedal-pads. The International Roughness Index shows that paved road surfaces affect frequency-weighted RMS acceleration differently, which is higher compared with tarmac. The vibration transmissibility result shows that the percentage pedal-pad effective amplitude transmissibility value on paved road surfaces is more than 100% compared with the tarmac road surface on three sizes of pedal- pads. A comparison of frequency-weighted RMS acceleration of pedal- pads and car bodies for three different sizes of the pedal-pad also show that the paved road surface contributes more vibration to pedal-pads compared with the tarmac road surface. It can, therefore, be concluded that the size of the pedal-pads and the type of road surface can influence foot-transmitted vibration.

Vibration at the pedal-pad can contribute to discomfort of foot plantar fascia during driving. This study was conducted to determine the Pedal-pad Effective Amplitude Transmissibility (PEAT) value and comparison frequency-weighted root-mean-square (r.m.s) acceleration on z-axis vibration magnitude for three different sizes of pedal-pad on the two different road surfaces (tarmac and paved). ISO 2631-1:1997 was used for frequency-weighting (Wk) and frequency weighting r.m.s acceleration values calculated in one-third octave step with range of frequency 0.5 Hz to 80 Hz in z-axis vibration. The result shows that the percentage of PEAT value on paved road surface is more than 100% and when compared to tarmac road surface are much higher for all three sizes of pedal-pads. Based on frequency-weighted r.m.s acceleration for three different sizes of pedal-pad, the paved road surface contributed more vibration to pedal-pad compared with the tarmac road surface. In conclusion, the paved road surface produced higher Z-axis vibration transmissibility from car-body to pedal-pads compared to tarmac road surface.

Streszczenie:
The present work discusses the effect of the treads width of the rubber brake pedal pads on the friction coefficient. Measurement of friction coefficient generated by bare foot and rubber footwear soles sliding against the brake pedal pads of different treads width in dry, sand contaminated, water and oil lubricated conditions is discussed. Experiments of the sliding of bare foot against the rubber pedal pad showed that friction coefficient of dry sliding significantly decreased with increasing tread width. The sliding direction has no effect on the friction coefficient for the tested pads. In the presence of sand particles separating the two contact surfaces, load had no influence on friction coefficient. Friction coefficient slightly decreased with increasing tread width. For water wetted pedal pad, friction coefficient displayed higher values than that observed for the condition of presence of sand particles. Friction values showed consistent trend with increasing the tread width. Friction displayed by oil lubricated pedal pads was the lowest and the sliding condition could be considered as unsafe.

Streszczenie:
In marine ecosystems, most invertebrates possess diverse microbiomes on their external surfaces, such as those found in the pedal mucus of grazing gastropods and chitons that aids displacement on different surfaces. The microbes are then transported around and placed in contact with free-living microbial communities of micro and other macro-organisms, potentially exchanging species and homogenizing microbial composition and structure among grazer hosts. Here, we characterize the microbiota of the pedal mucus of five distantly related mollusk grazers, quantify differences in microbial community structure, mucus protein and carbohydrate content, and, through a simple laboratory experiment, assess their effects on integrated measures of biofilm abundance. Over 665 Amplicon Sequence Variants (ASVs) were found across grazers, with significant differences in abundance and composition among grazer species and epilithic biofilms. The pulmonate limpet Siphonaria lessonii and the periwinkle Echinolittorina peruviana shared similar microbiota. The microbiota of the chiton Chiton granosus, keyhole limpet Fissurella crassa, and scurrinid limpet Scurria araucana differed markedly from one another, and form those of the pulmonate limpet and periwinkle. Flavobacteriaceae (Bacteroidia) and Colwelliaceae (Gammaproteobacteria) were the most common among microbial taxa. Microbial strict specialists were found in only one grazer species. The pedal mucus pH was similar among grazers, but carbohydrate and protein concentrations differed significantly. Yet, differences in mucus composition were not reflected in microbial community structure. Only the pedal mucus of F. crassa and S. lessonii negatively affected the abundance of photosynthetic microorganisms in the biofilm, demonstrating the specificity of the pedal mucus effects on biofilm communities. Thus, the pedal mucus microbiota are distinct among grazer hosts and can affect and interact non-trophically with the epilithic biofilms on which grazers feed, potentially leading to microbial community coalescence mediated by grazer movement. Further studies are needed to unravel the myriad of non-trophic interactions and their reciprocal impacts between macro- and microbial communities.

Streszczenie:
The wide application of hydraulic conductivity data depends on linking hydraulic parameters to soil morphology. Conventional morphology has been found to be a poor predictor of hydraulic conductivity. In this study we present new methods of characterising soil morphology to provide key morphological descriptors that can be related to hydraulic conductivity. Relationships were established between morphological properties (macrovoids, ped size, and associated surface features), and in situ consistence (degree of packing) with measured saturated and near-saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks and K−40). These relationships were applied to estimate Ks and K−40 classes for soil horizons of pedal and apedal soils. In pedal soils, K is estimated from the area of macrovoids and from the proportions of different-sized peds in each horizon, their closeness of fit, and their degree of packing. Low packing and fine peds with rough surfaces is indicative of rapid conductivity, whereas high packing and coarse peds with smooth/shiny ped surfaces is indicative of slow conductivity. In apedal soils, K is estimated from the area of macrovoids and from degree of packing and particle-size class. Low packing with coarse particles indicates rapid conductivity, whereas high packing with fine particles indicates slow conductivity. Field characterisation of soils to determine functional morphology requires: (i) a dye to measure extent and continuity of cracks and macrovoids; (ii) a metal blade (Singleton Blade) and a hand-held penetrometer to measure soil consistence in situ; and (iii) weighing different-sized peds and describing their surface features.

Petal diagrams of knots are projections of knots to the plane such that the diagram has exactly one crossing. Petal diagrams offer a convenient and combinatorial way of representing knots via their associated petal permutation. In this thesis we study the fundamental group and Seifert surfaces of knots in petal form. Using the Seifert-Van Kampen theorem, we give a group presentation of the fundamental group of the knot complement of a knot in petal form. We then discuss Seifert surfaces and use decomposition diagrams to represent the Seifert surfaces of knots in petal form. We finally give an algorithm to produce a set of decomposition diagrams for a spanning surface of a knot in petal form and prove that for incompressible surfaces such decomposition diagrams are unique up to perturbation moves.

Biomimetics is a freshly explored area of materials science that deals with the science of copying or improving upon that which is found in nature. Scientists commonly produce artificial materials with properties that improved from what occurs naturally. In this thesis, we demonstrate three types of novel functional nanomaterials inspired by moth eyes, gecko feet and rose petals. Moth eyes consist of quasi-close-packed nipples having heights and spacings typically of less than 300 nm, which reduces reflection from their compound eyes. We found, a metal whose oxide form has a higher ionic conductivity than alumina was used as an underlayer preceding an Al anodization process, the underlying metal would be also oxidized and thereby form metal–oxide nanostructures as Moth-eye structures. We modulate the metal–oxide nanomaterials to form, hollow-to-solid and hemisphere-to-cone nanostructure arrays. We employ subwavelength nanocone arrays as Moth-eyes structures for high-performance antireflection coatings. These oxide nanostructures greatly suppress reflectance over a large range of wavelengths and angles of incidence and display a good mechanical stability. Also, we introduce these nanocones as a new photoelectrode architecture for improved efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs).A facile synthesis of self-organized hollow TiO2 nanocones under porous anodic alumina (PAA) featuring TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) within was grown directly on a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate. The novel structure combines two types of TiO2 materials—0-D nanocones and 1-D NTs—to benefits from a large contact area, direct electron transport path, and slow recombination of electrons. A gecko is the largest animal that can produce high dry-adhesion to support its weight with a high factor of safety. The secret of the gecko’s adhesive properties lies in the hairy microstructure and nanostructure of gecko feet. We designed the efficient method of an innovate structure for ideal dry adhesives. A taper anodic alumina oxide mold with a length of 1.3 μm and a diameter of 380 nm was fabricated using decoupling two-step hard-anodization process which was firstly reported by us. After molding, taper-shaped nanohair array with slanted angle was presented. The approach to fabricate angled taper nanohair arrays obtained an excellent directional, reusable, and water cleanable use in large area. A remarkably directional force exhibited by angled taper nanohair arrays was showing here with strong shear attachment (8 N/cm2) in the gripping direction and easy releasing (1.4 N/cm2) in the reverse direction. Unlike “Lotus effect”, the petal’s surface which has superhydrophobicity and high water adhesion was fascinated by scientists in recent years. The phenomenon is induced by the microscale convex and nanostructures upon the petal. To mimic the petal’s surface, we developed a bottom-up method by the simple acid texture technique to fabricate the superhydrophobic PDMS surface with high water adhesion and self-cleaning ability. The resulting petal-like PDMS had convexes about 30 μm in diameter, nanowrinkles around 500 nm in width and nanostructures less than 100 nm. A high water contact angle larger than 150° was displayed. Moreover, the petal-like PDMS exhibited the high water adhesion up to 35.8 N/m2. In addition, the two superhydrophobic surfaces from the acid texture technique allowed us to fabricate a modern nonresidual stamp. The superhydrophobic and water adhesive area is applicable to transport the dye from the stamp to a paper. The superhydrophobic and self-cleaning region avoids the adhesion of dye.

Plantar pressure analysis has been playing an increasingly important role in the study of foot structure and function. This analysis provides biomechanical data that allow the understanding of the causes, treatment and prevention of plantar lesions of various pathologies, and also allows the analysis of the effects of everyday activities and sports in the foot. The principal goal of this study was to quantify and compare the influence of various landing surfaces used in Acrobatic Gymnastics through the analysis of the plantar pressure of the gymnasts during landing. The sample considered is composed of five expert gymnasts, three tops and two bases, aged between 12 years and 17 years, of the gymnastics section of the Associação Académica de Coimbra. A total of thirteen jumps were made using five different landing surfaces, namely two practicable and three cushion mattresses. The jumps were made from two different heights, 0.45 m and 1.15 m. The data acquisition system used is based on flexible reference insoles, namely the Pedar® system (Novel, Germany). The analysis of the results focuses on the comparison of the plantar pressure of the athletes, at the moment of the landing to the ground, for different zones of contact and height. The pressure distribution of the gymnasts in the different jumps is also analyzed. From the obtained results it was possible to conclude that the type of practicable, and the height of jump, has a considerable influence on the values of plantar pressure acquired.

In this dissertation, the nanocasting technique was used to transfer the pattern of petal surface micro- structure of two neutral plants (i.e., Rose of Grand Gala and Camellia of Fen Chiu Chu) into the surface of artificial electroactive polyimide (EPI) coating, followed by studying the anticorrosive effect through performing a series of electrochemical corrosion protection studies of hydrophobic EPI coating with biomimetic structures in saline conditions. First of all, the amine-capped aniline trimer (ACAT) was synthesized by oxidative coupling reactions, followed by characterized through nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, Fourier Transformation infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy (MS). The EPI was subsequently prepared by imidization reaction between ACAT and commercial dianhydride, followed by carrying out a series of polymeric structural characterizations. Nanocasting technique was employed to transfer the micro-scaled patterns from two surface of natural plant petals with soft template of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) to EPI coatings. Morphological images of EPI coating biomimetic surface structure was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Superhydrophobicity of as-prepared coatings with two different biomimetic structures was measured and compared by contact angle of water droplets. It should be noted that the coating with biomimetic structure of Rose of Grand Gala petal was found to exhibited higher contact angle of water droplets as compared to that of Camellia of Fen Chiu Chu petal, implying that the coating with biomimetic structure of Rose of Grand Gala petal may revealed a better corrosion protection as compared to its counterpart. Moreover, corrosion protection effect of coatings with/without biomimetic structure was investigated by a series of electrochemical corrosion measurements.

This chapter presents major stages in the evolution of military aircraft flight control systems. As the flight speed steadily increased, it was necessary to develop new flight control systems to replace the old pilot control with mechanical connections to the control surfaces. The first major step is the pilot with a side stick/rudder pedal or an autopilot, who sends commands converted to electrical signals to a flight control computer and, in turn, interprets and sends wired electrical commands to the electrohydraulic actuators of each control surface and receives electrical signals from the motion transducer of each control surface. This stage of development of aeronautical technologies has been called the fly-by-wire flight control system. The latest major step in the evolution of military aircraft flight control systems is the replacement of copper wires with the fiber-optic cables, which have a much lower weight and a much higher capacity to carry digital information (light or photons). The command imposed by the pilot with a side stick/rudder pedal or autopilot is converted into light signals to the flight control computer and to the electrical or electrohydraulic actuators of each control surface and receives light signals from the motion transducer of each control surface. The latest flight control system is called fly-by-light system.

This paper introduces the Ant Path Following System in its entirety. It is continuously in need of a machine or software that can stand on its own and fulfill its duties in our everyday lives. Long-distance driving makes us fatigued, and wish our legs were a bit more relaxed instead of constantly pressing the pedal and our hands rested instead ofcontinuing to manage the steering wheel. It is not necessary to push the trolley to a factory, supermarket, or infant vehicle. Based on the image processing concept, the line tracker can address all of these and many more difficulties. In this study, it attempted to build an active line follower robot that employs the line tracking concept. It differs from standard line followers in that it employs photodiode sensors, allowing it to predict the future. (e.g., the upcoming line pattern), and is ready to direct that pattern. The robot can also follow any color line that contrasts with the surface.

Abstract This introductory chapter provides an overview of environmental regulation in India. On the surface, India’s extensive environmental regulations comprise statutes that adopt command and control strategies backed by penal sanctions. What sets apart this legal regime from others is the distinctive and indeed, disproportionate role of judges and citizens in making the law work. By 2000, India had in place the basic building blocks for environmental regulation. On the statutory front, the pollution control framework comprised the Water Act of 1974, the Air Act of 1981, and the umbrella Environment (Protection) Act of 1986 (EPA). Meanwhile, with the National Green Tribunal Act of 2010, India entered a select band of nations that have established judicial fora for environmental adjudications. The chapter then presents readings on the space that a democracy offers to officials and citizens keen on promoting development while protecting the environment, before looking at the special features of environmental law and the roles of courts and tribunals.

Abstract The idea for the present book arose nearly a decade ago when I first read Kafka’s Letters to Milena and discovered that the author of perhaps the most horrific literary presentations of the modern world, the author of The Trial and ‘In the Penal Colony’, was also an avid observer of women’s fashion. At the time of their correspondence Milena Jesenska was living in Vienna and wrote fashion articles for Czech newspapers in her native Prague. Kafka would read her descriptions of hats and summer dresses with great pleasure and expertise, overlooking no detail in what he understood to be secret letters written for him alone and then weaving these sartorial references back into the text of their correspondence. ‘No, you’re wrong to underrate your fashion articles,’ he admonished her in a letter of 7 August. ‘I’m really grateful to you that I can read them in the open (since like a scoundrel I’ve been reading them in secret often).’ I realized then, with that odd sense of elation provoked by seeing a canonical figure dislodged from the grip of stereotype, that Kafka’s own writings, with their repeated references to fashion, elegant clothing, uniforms, and fur, revealed a surprisingly acute sense for the ‘superficial’ spectacle of urban life; and that in his writings he invariably presented the world as a shining and deceptive surface, presented it as clothing.

Abstract This chapter takes as starting-point the curious fact that two activities, on the surface quite different, are called by the same name: interpreting. On the one hand, there is what critics of the arts do with respect to individual artworks, such as Kafka’s Penal Colony, Picasso’s Demoiselles d’Avignon, or Mahler’s Ninth Symphony—that is, offer interpretations of them. In other words, they try to say, roughly, how such works should be viewed, what they mean, and why they are structured as they are. On the other hand, there is what performers in the performing arts do with respect to individual artworks, e.g. Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, Balanchine’s Four Temperaments, Shakespeare’s King Lear—that is, perform them. In other words, they play (dance, enact, recite) them in a particular way. Obviously there is some connection between these activities—it is sometimes suggested, for example, that the performing interpreter is doing implicitly what the critical interpreter is doing explicitly—but the similarities here are perhaps no greater than, and no more interesting than, the dissimilarities. This chapter will devote itself to emphasizing the latter. My particular concern will be to contrast, within the tradition of Western classical music, a musical performer’s interpretation of a given piece of music, and a music critic’s interpretation of the same. For convenience in what follows I will often abbreviate performative (or performer’s) interpretation as PI and critical (or critic’s) interpretation as CI.

Abstract Some of the last statements issued by the IRA before it was formally disbanded were dedicated to what may seem a peculiar priority: ‘exonerating’ several individuals the organisation has killed as informers during the conflict, and declaring them to have been wrongly accused. This has been part of a process involving truth-recovery, inquiries and apologies the organisation has carried out in relation to its past pursuit of informers. This chapter explains how accusations relating to their underground penality—where victims came from the group’s own constituency—can become an Achilles hill for rebel groups emerging from conflict, and how they can, in response, deploy mechanisms reminiscent of those states use in the context of transitional justice. The chapter explains how, once the peace process was underway, condemnations of its pursuit of informers—in particular of the ‘disappearance’ of alleged informers, most notably the 1972 killing and abduction of Jean McConville—have surfaced publicly, becoming one of the most problematic aspects of the Republican movement’s conflict legacy, especially as some of the critique came from within its cadres. The chapter then analyses inquiries and apologies that the IRA issued in response to these accusations, and argues that they involved a ‘performance of legality’, aiming to reaffirm the legitimacy of its past penal system, the norms against informing and the organisation’s status. The chapter also identifies several ways in which some of the rigid punitive attitudes towards informers and their families can soften in the post-conflict era, albeit mostly in private, haphazard, ways.

Streszczenie:
This paper presents a nonlinear sliding mode type controller for slip regulation in a braking event for an electromagnetic brake-by-wire system equipped automobile. The electromagnetic brake -by-wire system under consideration consists of a set of eddy current brakes attached to the automobile wheels. The anti-lock braking controller modifies the brake torque command generated by a supervisory controller which, in turn, is based on the driver’s command sensed via brake pedal sensors. The modified brake torque command is then generated by a closed loop actuator control algorithm to control the eddy current brake (ECB) system. It is shown in this paper that the proposed anti-lock braking control system is stable in the sense of Lyapunov. Experimental results are presented for a test vehicle equipped with an electromagnetic brake-by-wire system. Experimental results show that the proposed anti-lock brake control algorithm provides very good slip regulation in a braking event on low friction coefficient surfaces (wet Jennite) when compared with that of a non anti-lock braking event. Experimental results also indicate that the proposed anti-lock braking control system provided a very smooth stop for the vehicle.

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Braking Performance of a vehicle is one of the most important parameters when it comes to the safety of a vehicle. With rapidly changing tyre &amp; vehicle technology and driving surfaces, its critical to study and quantify the impact of various operational parameters on braking. This study focusses to determine the level of variability in braking performance of a tyre with respect to change in operational and tyre structural parameters. It would hence also assist in defining more accurate test methodology to conduct brake tests. Uncontrolled sources of variability included in study are variation of driver, surface temperature &amp; vehicle, while controlled sources of variability included in study are applied brake force, tyre construction, inflation pressure &amp; test load. The concerned parametric variations have been studied on stand-alone basis as well as combination of more than a single factor. It has been observed that braking in panic condition with higher brake force may not yield the best brake performance and each vehicle and brake system operate ideally in a specific brake force range. As studied previously [<span class="xref">2</span>], a rise in surface temperature causes deteriorated braking performance while it is found to improve with increasing inflation pressure which is contrary to published data [<span class="xref">2</span>, <span class="xref">3</span>] and needs to be further investigated. Sensitivity to different tread compounds has also been captured. Braking performance is found to be more sensitive to driver style than the average or maximum pedal brake force being applied. Skid Trailer and Flat track machine tests have also been conducted to validate tyre test data with larger control on test parameters and inputs. This also provides useful data to compare braking performance of a tyre on stand-alone basis other than the tyre-vehicle assembly.</div></div>

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">In recent times, Battery electric vehicles (BEV) have gained a lot of popularity since they can contribute immensely to control the urban air pollution. However, to consider the BEVs as a sustainable mobility solution, a significant improvement is needed in several aspects including performance, range, cost, weight and recharging time. In the present work, the acceleration performance of an electric vehicle is improved to match with its diesel variant by optimizing the accelerator pedal map strategy.</div><div class="htmlview paragraph">Due to weight and cost constraints, the battery and electric machine capacity of the electric variant of the vehicle was considerably lower (41 % lesser power and 44% lesser torque). However, the expectation from the customers is to have no noticeable difference in the low-end performance feel between the variants. Hence, a unique method was necessary by which the subjective performance feel of the electric variant could be matched to the diesel variant despite the difference in powertrain and vehicle specifications. The experimental results revealed that the vehicle level acceleration with respect to velocity is the most critical factor defining the low-end performance feel of the vehicle. Hence, the higher low-end torque availability of the electric machine was leveraged to deliver a higher output torque even at the lower pedal position. This could be done by completely redefining the accelerator pedal map characteristic in which the motor output torque is defined as a function of accelerator pedal position and motor speed. As a result, the final acceleration performance feel of the electric variant could be closely matched with the diesel variant even with an 8% weight penalty. The results are quantified by doing a comparative vehicle level evaluation.</div><div class="htmlview paragraph">Thus, the proposed methodology could be used to improve the subjective performance feel of any BEV. Moreover, it can enable the BEVs to meet the customer expectations even with reduced size of the electric powertrain.</div></div>

Streszczenie:
The project objective was to more fully understand how the motion of pollen grains may be controlled by electrostatic forces, and to develop a reliable mechanized pollination system based upon sound electrostatic and aerodynamic principles. Theoretical and experimental analyses and computer simulation methods which investigated electrostatic aspects of natural pollen transfer by insects found that: a) actively flying honeybees accumulate ~ 23 pC average charge (93 pC max.) which elevates their bodies to ~ 47 V likely by triboelectrification, inducing ~ 10 fC of opposite charge onto nearby pollen grains, and overcoming their typically 0.3-3.9 nN detachment force resulting in non-contact electrostatic pollen transfer across a 5 mm or greater air gap from anther-to-bee, thus providing a theoretical basis for earlier experimental observations and "buzz pollination" events; b) charge-relaxation characteristics measured for flower structural components (viz., 3 ns and 25 ns time constants, respectively, for the stigma-style vs. waxy petal surfaces) ensure them to be electrically appropriate targets for electrodeposition of charged pollen grains but not differing sufficiently to facilitate electrodynamic focusing onto the stigma; c) conventional electrostatic focusing beneficially concentrates pollen-deposition electric fields onto the pistill tip by 3-fold as compared to that onto underlying flower structures; and d) pollen viability is adequately maintained following exposure to particulate charging/management fields exceeding 2 MV/m. Laboratory- and field-scale processes/prototype machines for electrostatic application of pollen were successfully developed to dispense pollen in both a dry-powder phase and in a liquid-carried phase utilizing corona, triboelectric, and induction particulate-charging methods; pollen-charge levels attained (~ 1-10 mC/kg) provide pollen-deposition forces 10-, 77-, and 100-fold greater than gravity, respectively, for such charged pollen grains subjected to a 1 kV/cm electric field. Lab and field evaluations have documented charged vs. ukncharged pollen deposition to be significantly (a = 0.01-0.05) increased by 3.9-5.6 times. Orchard trials showed initial fruit set on branches individually treated with electrostatically applied pollen to typically increase up to ~ 2-fold vs. uncharged pollen applications; however, whole-tree applications have not significantly shown similar levels of benefit and corrective measures continue. Project results thus contribute important basic knowledge and applied electrostatics technology which will provide agriculture with alternative/supplemental mechanized pollination systems as tranditional pollen-transfer vectors are further endangered by natural and man-fade factors.
