Coffee is one of Indonesia's main economic activities for foreign exchange. An increase in exports of 8.11%, and a decline in imports of 58% in 2019, opened up export opportunities and large domestic markets. The government has implemented efforts to improve coffee farmers' welfare, one of which is agricultural business partnerships that can solve smallholder problems in developing countries and expand subsistence or traditional agriculture to high production value and export-oriented. This research aimed to analyze (1) the factors influencing coffee farmers' participation in agricultural partnerships and (2) the impact of the agricultural partnership on coffee farmers' performance in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. The Propensity Score Matching (PSM) technique analyzed the partnership's influence on coffee farming and agricultural income, productivity, and prices. The results showed that number of dependents household members and land area influence farmers' partnership participation. Participation increases coffee farming and agricultural income, productivity, and prices.

Abstract. The article evaluates the funding structure and partnership models in ensuring human resource productivity. The government’s main task is to implement the economic policy that would stimulate the growth of the country’s economy, which is achieved through the active participation of human resources in social production and can be identified by their productivity. Increasing labor productivity requires both fundings for human resources development programs, namely education and health care, and the formation of models of partnerships between the subjects of its provision (government, business, and households). Revitalization of human resources involves meeting the essential human needs, which are defined in the concept of human development, the highest priority of which is education and health. Each country forms its own partnership model of subjects for financing to ensure economic growth and productivity of human resources. The object of the study is the model of partnership in providing the growth of productivity of human resources in the economies of countries that have excellent tools for financing human development programs, namely the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, and Ukraine. In this study, we used correlation regression analysis to evaluate the models of a partnership between households, government, and businesses in financing education and health to ensure increasing productivity of human resources. We proved the crucial role of public funding of health care systems in ensuring the growth of human productivity in Germany, the United States, Britain, and Ukraine, and in Sweden — socially responsible business. With regard to education, the priority in the partnership model in the United States belongs to the business, in Germany to the state, and in other countries, the participation of all partners is equal. Ukraine has relatively low productivity of human resources. Therefore, it is essential to implement measures to improve it and transform the existing funding structure for human development programs and partnership models to ensure its growth. Abstract Public-private partnerships are critical to advancing sustainability in the agricultural sector and increasing global food security. Partnerships are a means of increasing productivity and encouraging growth in the agricultural sector. The Partnership encourages private sector participation to reduce risks that occur in the agricultural sector. The aim of this research is to understand how supply chains are configured, to identify drivers of supply chain partnerships and to synthesize partnership strategies. Currently, agricultural areas in East Java are trying to build sustainable partnerships to improve farmers’ abilities in managing the agricultural sector. By using data from surveys and observations of 50 private companies and 50 farmers spread across the research object locations, it was found that there was quite a significant interaction between intensive coordination, partnership quality, quantity and quality of partners. The mechanisms used in partnerships can encourage sustainable agricultural management. It is hoped that the implementation of these findings can encourage partnerships between the private sector and the public sector to achieve significant development. It is hoped that this partnership can play an important role in addressing agricultural problems. Partnerships are formed to create shared values in the form of an institutional framework to address the root of problems.

This paper aims to understand the emerging pattern of significance and correlation of the partnership research topics covering all countries. Our study used the scientometric method to reveal the trends and patterns in partnership research. The database was sourced from the scientific literature databases of the Web of Science (WoS). The study recorded 53,800 scientific papers on the partnership in general between 2000 to 2017. GDP and HDI were used to analyze the raison-d’être of the research on partnerships at the macro level. We examined the top 20 countries with the highest GDP, Research Productivity Indicator (RPI), and HDI. A country with a lower Human Development Index (HDI) and higher RPI tends to think that partnerships are essential in supporting national socio-economic development. This study showed that the resource-based view (RBV) theory was discussed more than the stakeholder theory among the two main partnership theories. Observing the motivation to develop partnerships, innovation-seeking was discussed the most in scientific productions. Innovation is used to enhance financial performance and leverage competitive advantage.

Under the banner of partnership, many labor-management relationships in the U.S. have established structures for involving unions at the highest levels of the business. While no hard data are available, a significant number of partnerships have been in operation for a substantial period of time in a number of key sectors. This article assesses the staying power and significance of this development. Clearly, labor-management partnerships have great potential for improving productivity, employment security, and other outcomes of importance to the parties. However, their performance has been hampered by precipitous restructuring, leadership changes, and political pressures. Particular attention is given to union-nominated directors, a concept that could serve as a stimulus for the expansion of the partnership idea more generally.

The development of horticultural farming through agribusiness partnerships can serve as a solution to farmers' limitations in managing agricultural risks. Partnerships have the potential to improve farming productivity and ensure price certainty. However, in some instances, partnership practices may give rise to issues such as dependency and weakened bargaining power for farmers. This research aims to investigate and analyze the potential for enhancing the performance of horticultural farming through the development of agribusiness partnership models in the Sidoluhur Farmers' Group, Cabeyan Village, Sukoharjo District. The research methodology employed is a descriptive case study involving five key respondents, including a lecturer from Universitas Sebelas Maret, the owner of Spesial Sambal, and farmers engaged in cultivation or responsible for the Sidoluhur Farmers' Group. The case study method allows for in-depth investigation into specific cases and facilitates the development of narratives or stories. The research findings indicate that the established partnership model is a subcontracting pattern involving three parties: the Sidoluhur Farmers' Group, PT Waroeng Spesial Sambal, and Universitas Sebelas Maret. The partnership provides market certainty for the farmers with a stable selling price. Importantly, this partnership does not create dependency on PT Waroeng Spesial Sambal, as farmers are free to market their harvests independently.

This study focuses on a wide range of issues related to the effects of integration process on the development of economic relations, in particular, in the road transport services market. Special emphasis is put on the critical role of integration in contributing to building circular technological supply chains, ensuring sales coordination and management, reducing unit costs and increasing labor productivity. It is argued that the outcome of integration translates into a cohesive economic mechanism which in addition to its integrated elements is characterized by the presence of a core coordination element. The article offers a definition to a public-private partnership phenomenon, identifies its advantages and disadvantages, explores the mechanisms of public-private partnership implementation as well as suggests a toolkit to optimize the partnership functioning for integrated structures. This is a pioneering study that provides a rationale for the need to use several public-private partnership patterns simultaneously together with developing a mechanism for carrying out public-private partnership which is proposed to be consolidated into the mechanism of integrated partnership viewed as the most preferable one to be implemented in the market of road transport services. It has been verified that the integrated partnership pattern provides an opportunity to develop competitive advantages of all its participants. The research findings have enabled to make the following generalizations: the existing partnerships differ in types of arrangements and institutional support; prior to making a decision to launch a specific integrated partnership project, the mechanism of its implementation should be envisaged; to enhance the efficiency of the integrated partnership project implementation, building relevant infrastructure facilities is paramount; the prospects for further integrated partnership project operation assume the utilization of a network mechanism of public-private partnership which best meets the needs and the specifics of the road transport services market.

The aims of the study: (1) to identify partnership patterns between land-owning smallholders and oil palm plantation companies in North Konawe, and (2) to design a fair partnership model with the principle of equality in order to improve the welfare of oil palm smallholders in North Konawe. The data collection method was carried out by interviewing farmers and company managers and focus group discussions (FGD). Data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive and system approach. The research results can be explained as follows: There are 2 (two) plantation partnership patterns between smallholders and oil palm companies in North Konawe, namely the nucleus-plasma partnership pattern between oil palm smallholders and state plantation companies (PTPN-14) and the one-roof partnership pattern with the profit sharing 40:60 between farmers and private companies (PT SPLi and PT DJL). This pattern shows many weaknesses, including not considering land productivity, farmer's land is not counted as capital, price and production information is not known to farmers quickly and openly, there is no increase in farmer capacity both in plantation management and in social and institutional strengthening. In PKS partnerships, farmers are given access to share ownership (maximum 49%) to obtain additional benefits from increasing the added value of palm oil processing. The partnership model offered to increase the institutional effectiveness of managing the oil palm plantation business in North Konawe is corporate farming by utilizing the culture and local wisdom of the community, especially the Tolaki ethnic group.

The author proposes to consider the process of optimization of social partnership management with regard to its competitive forms, relying on fairly representative and fairly numerous results of specific sociological studies carried out over more than three decades. The structure of competitive forms of social partnership and its changes over several decades in modern Russian society are analyzed. The main determinants defining the development of competitive forms of social partnership are presented. The main consequences (effects) of various competitive forms of social partnership for the productivity of activities, interpersonal relations and personal development are revealed. In particular, it is found that the strongest positive effect on practically all aspects of human life is provided by cooperative forms of social partnership and passive forms of competitiveness and individualism have the greatest negative effect. It is proposed to use the revealed patterns of competitive forms of social partnership in order to optimize management both in the system of social partnership and social interaction in general.

The approach to building innovative partnerships between academia and the pharmaceutical industry has expanded to investigate collaborations that offer meaningful outcomes beyond discovery and increased productivity. This case study uses a systems thinking approach to guide the process and analyse the outcome of a partnership undertaken by one pharmaceutical company and academia. The collaborative process established three tiers of evolution over a 3-year period. The outcome was an online module–based course, entitled ‘Making Medicines: The Process of Drug Development’, that provides information about the drug discovery and development process. Both the course development and the final product serve as a useful case study of how collaboration between academia and industry might be achieved. The development process itself is proposed as an appropriate approach for building educational partnerships.

This paper examines factors that influence faculty at a research-intensive U.S. public land grant university to engage in international collaborations and partnerships. Using a mixed-mode (web, mail, and telephone) survey, we collected data from 764 researchers at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington, USA, to provide a baseline and current context of demographic characteristics, motivations, barriers, and academic outcomes in relation to international research collaboration. Our results suggest that funding, reduced organizational and institutional barriers, effective institutional support, previous global experience, and research outcomes can encourage faculty to engage in international collaboration. We also found that faculty involved in international collaboration, on average, exhibited higher productivity and a positive correlation with scholarly output, especially through joint publications and student training. The results of this study may provide a reference for research-intensive institutions interested in optimizing their internationalization agendas through partnerships, and examining their policies, strategies, and messaging to increase faculty engagement in collaborative research that promotes co-creation, reciprocity, mutually beneficial partnership, and organizational transformation.

ABSTRACT New technologies combined with improved genetics and farmer access are important components required to improve productivity and efficiencies of cropping systems. The ability of the public and private sector to provide these components to farmers often vary considerably and can be challenging because of limited resource allocation and investment in institutions designed to provide these services. Partnerships among national programs where resources are limited and external entities can provide an effective platform to deliver improved cultivars and production and pest management practices that increase crop yield and economic viability of resource-poor farmers. In this note, we describe a partnership between the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Crops Research Institute (CSIR-CRI) in Ghana, the International Center for Research in the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), the US Agency for International Development Peanut Collaborative Research Support Program (USAID Peanut CRSP), the Feed the Future Innovation Lab on Peanut Productivity and Mycotoxin Control (PMIL), and North Carolina State University (NCSU) that resulted in the release of two ICRISAT-derived lines as cultivars to farmers in Ghana. The cultivars Otuhia (Arachis hypogaea L.) and Yenyawoso (Arachis hypogaea L.) were released by CSIR-CRI in 2012 following evaluations of breeding lines beginning in 1999. This case study provides insight into the research focus and timeline that occurred with this partnership during the research and development process. Tobacco is a strategic commodity with significant economic value and profitable cultivation for farmers. Establishing a business partnership is a viable approach for achieving this goal. The purpose of this study was to compare the financial performance of partner and non-partner farmers in East Lombok district tobacco cultivation. Profit, return on capital, net profit margin (NPM), and profitability are used to evaluate financial performance. All of the foregoing measures demonstrated that the financial performance of Virginia tobacco farmers who participated in the partnership program was significantly higher than that of farmers who did not participate. This is achievable due to the fact that farmer partnerships make it possible to gain knowledge and direction on optimal tobacco farming (good practices), so allowing farmers to increase their production and productivity. In addition, partner farmers have pricing certainty, allowing them to generate more earnings. As a result, tobacco growers and farmers of other commodities are encouraged to form mutually advantageous relationships with related businesses in order to increase their profitability

One effort to increase the productivity of oil palm plants is to carry out a replanting program. In implementing the oil palm plant rejuvenation program, most of the planters come from low-educated communities who lack knowledge regarding what and how partnership patterns are. It is the government's authority to regulate cooperative relations between plantation companies and farmers. This collaboration is carried out considering that planters may not be capable enough to work on rejuvenating their oil palm plantations, whereas if oil palm trees that are over 20-25 years old are not rejuvenated, they will no longer be productive and will produce little fruit. This collaboration is carried out by plantation companies as the core and plasma farmers/planters. In implementing this replanting program, there are several models of partnership patterns, one of which is the Intiplasm partnership pattern which is the most popular in implementing this program. The method used in this research is Normative Juridical with the research approach used is qualitative by examining statutory documents and comparing them with conditions in the field. The research results showed that the implementation of Minister of Agriculture Decree Number 940/KPTS/OT.210/10/97 concerning Guidelines for Agricultural Business Partnerships in the Implementation of Oil Palm Plant Rejuvenation has been carried out well, as evidenced by the existence of several regions in Indonesia that have successfully and completed following replanting using the intiplasma partnership pattern. This type of partnership pattern in implementing replanting is very important, because it can help people who do not have funds to continue participating in the replanting program. Then the form of legal protection obtained by farmers if a dispute occurs is through mediation and efforts to resolve disputes outside of court. Then, if no bright spot is found, the problem can then be resolved in court with all the consequences. Keywords: Palm Oil; Rejuvenation; Partnership Pattern.

Indonesia's rice crop production growth will possibly always increase every year. However, the direction of growth in production and the area of harvest which increases is inversely proportional to the condition of decreasing productivity growth, which is known as productivity inequality. Efforts to solve these problems are through partnerships with the government and the private sector. The purpose of this study is (1) to analyze the characteristics of Indonesian farmers following the partnership, (2) to analyze the factors that influenced Indonesian rice farmers to join contract farming, and (3) to measure the impact of the participation of Indonesian rice farmers in contract farming on farmer household income. This study used secondary data from the Rice Plant Business Household Survey 2014 (SPD 2014) conducted by the Central Statistics Agency with a total sample of 87,330 samples. Data were analyzed using logistic regression and propensity score matching, which resulted in (1) There are differences in characteristics of partner farmers in Indonesia including age, education, gender, participation in SLPTT, income, and a land area used; (2) There are four variables that significantly influence farmers in participating are age, education level, production costs, and the participation of institutional farmers; (3) The participation of farmers in partnerships has a positive impact on the income of rice farmers in Indonesia.

The issue of an imbalance in demand and supply of red chili and fluctuating red chili prices have initiated the Ministry of Economy, especially the Deputy for Food and Agribusiness Coordination, to implement a pilot of closed loop partnership model. The partnership is a form of cooperation that is beneficial for parties who have agreed, usually, partnerships are formed and carried out between parties who have agreed and have been bound by an agreement, SOP, or contract. The purpose of this study is there is an impact on the income and farm efficiency of chili farmers in partnership with non-partner farmers in Garut and Sukabumi Regency?. The data analysis carried out includes qualitative data analysis methods that are described descriptively in the analysis of farm performance. The quantitative analysis method used farm income analysis, income and cost comparison analysis (R/C Ratio), and different test analyses to determine the level of efficiency of chili farming commodities by partner and non-partner farmers in Garut and Sukabumi Regency. The results of this study indicate that the profit of closed loop chili farming is more profitable (IDR89.889.654/ha/season with R/C=2,06). Although the productivity and quality of chili produced by closed loop farmers (8,691 tons/ha) is relatively similar to non-closed loop farmers (8,491 tons/ha), it can be seen that the price received by closed loop farmers is higher (IDR15.457/kg) compared to the price received by non-closed loop farmers (IDR11.998/kg). The closed loop partnership model can be considered to have a positive impact on the income and efficiency of chili farming.

The presence of an imbalance in the partnership between sugar mills and sugarcane farmers under the agricultural land leasing system has an impact on national sugar productivity. This study was based on the speculative hypothesis that existing partnerships frequently harm sugarcane farmers. The goal of this study is to examine a type of partnership that occurs in sugar cane farming in Indonesia using a new method based on sharia economic law known as the mukharabah bil mudharabah contract. The research method employed in this study is normative-juridical, including statutory and conceptual methods. This research yielded findings in the form of a new concept that depicts the characteristics of sugarcane farmer partnerships based on the mukharabah bil mudharabah contract and provides policy input for the government regarding sugarcane farmer partnerships with financing institutions based on the mukharabah bil mudharabah contract. In relation to this, the researchers proposed the concept of a "mukharabah bil mudharabah" contract to replace the partnership concept that has been implemented thus far in the hope that it will not be detrimental to sugarcane farmers. The availability of potential fishery resources owned by the waters around Ambon Island has not been fully supported by the ability of human resources to manage them properly. The mastery of technology and management in the field of fisheries and marine owned by coastal communities in Ambon is still limited to be able to utilize the potential of fisheries and marine resources available. On the other hand, the availability of capital to stimulate economic activities in the fisheries and marine sector has also not been fully met. The mastery of knowledge and business skills of the people living on the coast of Ambon is still traditional and subsistence in nature, so efforts are still needed to increase the productivity of businesses owned by the community. From the description of the conditions in the Ambon area, the presence of partnerships initiated by the government or the private sector is urgent in the framework of empowering fishing communities in this region. This study aims to formulate an alternative framework of partnership institutions that are appropriate for the empowerment of capture fishermen in Ambon. The research method used case study method, data collection using focus group discussion method. Data analysis uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The output of this research is an alternative framework of capture fisheries partnership institutions where in building a partnership concept that can accommodate the aspirations of the community, it is necessary to study the potential of the community itself, both human capital, natural capital, and social capital, coupled with a proper understanding of the problems faced by the fishing community itself, so that the partnership that is built is right on target, which in turn can provide adequate results.

This study, conducted in Kotawaringin Barat and Lamandau Districts of Central Kalimantan, aimed to investigate the patterns and implications of integrating oil palm cultivation with livestock farming. Utilizing qualitative research methods, including interviews and direct observations, three distinct integration patterns were identified: integrated (33.33%), semi-integrated (66.67%), and semi-integrated partnership (8.33%). The integrated pattern encompasses a closed-cycle system involving oil palm cultivation, cattle raising, complete feed processing, and organic fertilizer production. In contrast, the semi-integrated pattern harnesses only solid palm oil by-products for cattle feed and fertilizer blends, while the semi-integrated partnership involves collaborations between private palm oil entities and farmer groups, facilitating cattle and feed support. Remarkably, the application of produced organic fertilizer increased palm oil productivity by approximately 25% and yielded a benefit-cost (R/C) ratio of 4.0 for horticultural crops. Monthly organic fertilizer production ranged between 1-20 tons, with distribution across palm oil (33.3%), horticultural crops (8.3%), and other crops (58.3%). Additionally, liquid organic fertilizer production spanned 1000-4000 liters/month. The integrated approach, rooted in the palm oil sector, has led to the emergence of sustainable commercial units that bolster economic growth. Given its eco-friendly and popular adoption, formal legal backing from local authorities and further engagement between palm oil enterprises and farmer groups is recommended to ensure longevity and broader implementation.

Streszczenie:
Diversification of the agricultural production potential often implies the differentiation of the achieved farming productivity due to its effect on the agricultural resources and structural processes. The article aims to examine the diversity of the production potential in the agricultural sectors of the EU candidate countries (CC) and the Eastern Partnership countries (EPC) and its impact on the variety of the achieved productivity, as well as to present changes in the analyzed indicators in the years 2006–2017. A synthetic measure of agricultural development and a linear regression analysis were applied in the article. The research revealed that Belarus may be distinguished with regard to its production potential, as well as the achieved productivity. In most countries (with the exception of Montenegro and Macedonia), an increase in the value of the synthetic measure of the possessed potential has been recorded in the studied period. However, the synthetic measure of the agricultural productivity level displayed an insignificant raise only in half of the countries surveyed.

Streszczenie:
Cereal crops have played major roles in addressing food security issues in Nepal. In recent years there have been fluctuations in crop production and demands situations due to various reasons. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the dynamics of major cereals productivity in Nepal from 1995 to 2014. Focus group discussions were done in mid-hills and tarai of Nepal in 2015. Percentage change, compound growth rate, annual rate of change, coefficient of variation, instability index were calculated to analyze results. The result shows that the area, production and productivity of major cereals had an increasing trend over the study period. The major factors contributing on productivity increase in cereal crops were irrigation facilities, use of improved and hybrid seeds, chemical fertilizer and better technical knowhow among the farmers. For effective adoption of research outputs to improve the productivity emphasis should also be given on promotion of public private partnership (PPP) in research and development.

Streszczenie:
This paper aims to quantify the effects of China’s participation in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), in particular by focusing on the possible productivity effects through the endogenous assignment of skills to technologies. In this paper, we develop a large-scale global computable general equilibrium (CGE) model in which firms are heterogeneous in technologies and workers are heterogeneous in individual skill levels so that equilibrium skill–technology assignments are endogenously determined. This study contributes to the literature with the new CGE modeling and application to the recent important issue in international trade. By calibrating the model to 23 countries and regions, we quantify the effects of China’s participation in the CPTPP. Due to the positive real productivity effects and the reallocation of workers, the results show that China’s participation in the CPTPP may generate significantly higher productivity, GDP, and welfare effects compared to previous conventional CGE models based on simplistic representative agent frameworks at a given productivity. Globally, on average, the real productivity of the manufacturing sector, the number of exporting firms, real GDP, and welfare increase by 0.52%, 19.62%, 1.36%, and USD 3.41 billion, respectively.
