The development of the PTC Creo Parametic website-based learning module for basic modeling work aims to facilitate DPTM UPI students in developing basic parametric modeling skills. The method used is Research Development (RD) with a qualitative approach. In order for the development flow to be directed, the process of developing this learning module uses the Hannafin and Peck development model. The research instrument for module testing used questionnaires, interviews, and observations to find out how the DPTM UPI students responded. This research produced a website-based PTC Creo Parametric learning module for basic parametric modeling work that can facilitate DPTM UPI students and get positive responses from DPTM UPI students. In addition, learning modules provide benefits for users because they are supported by a website-based multitopic scheme, so users can easily access learning materials.

The purposes of this research were to analyse: (i) Modelling the inflation rate in Indonesia with parametric regression. (ii) Modelling the inflation rate in Indonesia using non-parametric regression spline multivariable (iii) Determining the best model the inflation rate in Indonesia (iv) Explaining the relationship inflation model parametric and non-parametric regression spline multivariable. Based on the analysis using the two methods mentioned the coefficient of determination (R2) in parametric regression of 65.1% while non-parametric amounted to 99.39%. To begin with, the factor of money supply or money stock, crude oil prices and the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar is significant on the rate of inflation. The stability of inflation is essential to support sustainable economic development and improve people's welfare. In conclusion, unstable inflation will complicate business planning business activities, both in production and investment activities as well as in the pricing of goods and services produced.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v15i2.3260

Streszczenie:
Parametric modelling has been regarded as a prospective skill both in architectural education and practice. It offers capabilities for designers to instantly generate numerous design options and create complex geometries, which can enhance the design creativity. Realizing its potential and capabilities, this study investigates how parametric modelling can be practiced in early architectural education for improving students’ creativity and design skill. The findings of this study are based on the observation of the parametric modelling workshop participated by 150 first-year architecture students in Indonesia. It is concluded that parametric modelling can be feasibly practiced by first-year students as a medium to enhance design creativity. Additionally, parametric modelling can improve students’ design intuition in some respects, that can smooth the design skill development in architectural learning. The lessons for the effective parametric design learning were also discussed in this study, including metaphorical thinking in parametric exploration, active communication between student and lecturer, and emphasis on the inspirational tool.

Streszczenie:
With the continuous increase of the running speed, the head shape of a high-speed train turns out to be the critical factor to boost the speed further. In order to reduce the time required to design the head of a high-speed train and to improve the modelling efficiency, various parametric modelling methods have been widely applied in the optimization design of the head of a high-speed train to obtain an optimal head shape so that the aerodynamic effect acting on the head of a high-speed train can be reduced and more energy can be saved. This paper reviews these parametric modelling methods and classifies them into four categories: two-dimensional, three-dimensional, CATIA-based, and mesh deformation-based parametric modelling methods. Each of the methods is introduced, and the advantages and disadvantages of these methods are identified. The simulation results are presented to demonstrate that the aerodynamic performance of the optimal models constructed by these parametric modelling methods has been improved when compared with the numerical calculation results of the original models or the prototype models of running trains. Since different parametric modelling methods used different original models and optimization methods, few publications could be found which compare the simulation results of the aerodynamic performance among different parametric modelling methods. In spite of this, these parametric modelling methods indicate that more local shape details will lead to more accurate simulation results, and fewer design variables will result in higher computational efficiency. Therefore, the ability of describing more local shape details with fewer design variables could serve as a main specification to assess the performance of various parametric modelling methods. The future research directions may concentrate on how to improve such ability.

A complete documentation and conservation of a historic timber roof requires the integration of geometry modelling, attributional and dynamic information management and results of structural analysis. Recently developed as-built Building Information Modelling (BIM) technique has the potential to provide a uniform platform, which provides possibility to integrate the traditional geometry modelling, parametric elements management and structural analysis together. <br><br> The main objective of the project presented in this paper is to develop a parametric modelling tool for a timber roof structure whose elements are leaning and crossing beam frame. Since Autodesk Revit, as the typical BIM software, provides the platform for parametric modelling and information management, an API plugin, able to automatically create the parametric beam elements and link them together with strict relationship, was developed. The plugin under development is introduced in the paper, which can obtain the parametric beam model via Autodesk Revit API from total station points and terrestrial laser scanning data. The results show the potential of automatizing the parametric modelling by interactive API development in BIM environment. It also integrates the separate data processing and different platforms into the uniform Revit software.

Streszczenie:
In contemporary architectural Design, we speak of a parametric structural design. A design that integrates new functionalities crossed with the spatial geometry of objects. It has been considered structured because it optimizes combinations that integrate a minimum of materials and data to respond to functions, uses, and needs more adapted to a society in perpetual evolution. Parametric modelling allows the usability of new materials and the integration of new structures in a variety of design environments. This transdisciplinary research explores aspects of parametric modelling, a design method that creates digital models using algorithms and parameters. By focusing on the material and immaterial plurality of the designed space, this method enables the generation of complex and innovative forms that would be difficult to realize with traditional methods. Then, from a position that redefines the city as both a "medium" city and an "object" city, we explore the fields of application and novelties that are investing in the fields of architectural construction. We examine how parametric modelling can be used to create more sustainable and environmentally efficient buildings, using parametric processes, and optimizing the use of space. In this sense, our research will lead us to identify two aspects of parametric modelling: the conceptual parametric design aspect and the constructive parametric design aspect. Finally, the results of our research enable us to identify a design process that demonstrates the feasibility of using parametric modelling to generate viable, sustainable, and versatile spaces.

Streszczenie:
Conducting lighting simulations to investigate lighting performance, such as glare, is widely accepted and of particular interest in the design development stage. However, the main challenge remains in integrating lighting performance metrics into a streamlined modelling and evaluation workflow. With the advancement in digital and modelling technologies, an automatic workflow of modelling parametric design studies with lighting performance evaluation becomes feasible. This study investigates a parametric modelling approach to facilitate glare evaluation using China Green Building Standard as an example. Their glare evaluation adopted the known daylight glare index (DGI) with a revised glare source definition in the calculation. An evaluation toolkit is presented, demonstrating its applications with the sky model. Compared with DGI, the results articulate how a parametric modelling workflow can automate lighting performance evaluation and facilitate technical investigation and clarifications for glare evaluation. Through the parametric simulation studies, the differences in the limited metric scale and the sensitivity of capturing window sizes on the glare evaluation suggest future evaluation protocols for the environmental standard development.

Streszczenie:
This paper presents an approach for the establishment of a parametric model of knee joint prosthesis. Four different sizes of a commercial prosthesis are used as an example in the study. A reverse engineering technique was employed to reconstruct the prosthesis on CATIA, a CAD (computer aided design) system. Parametric models were established as a result of the analysis. Using the parametric model established and the knee data obtained from a clinical study on 21 pairs of cadaveric Asian knees, the development of a prototype prosthesis that suits a patient with a very small knee joint is presented. However, it was found that modification to certain parameters may be inevitable due to the uniqueness of the Asian knee. An avenue for rapid modelling and eventually economical production of a customized knee joint prosthesis for patients is proposed and discussed.

Streszczenie:
Land use change (LUC) models used for modelling urban growth are different in structure and performance. Local models divide the data into separate subsets and fit distinct models on each of the subsets. Non-parametric models are data driven and usually do not have a fixed model structure or model structure is unknown before the modelling process. On the other hand, global models perform modelling using all the available data. In addition, parametric models have a fixed structure before the modelling process and they are model driven. Since few studies have compared local non-parametric models with global parametric models, this study compares a local non-parametric model called multivariate adaptive regression spline (MARS), and a global parametric model called artificial neural network (ANN) to simulate urbanization in Mumbai, India. Both models determine the relationship between a dependent variable and multiple independent variables. We used receiver operating characteristic (ROC) to compare the power of the both models for simulating urbanization. Landsat images of 1991 (TM) and 2010 (ETM+) were used for modelling the urbanization process. The drivers considered for urbanization in this area were distance to urban areas, urban density, distance to roads, distance to water, distance to forest, distance to railway, distance to central business district, number of agricultural cells in a 7 by 7 neighbourhoods, and slope in 1991. The results showed that the area under the ROC curve for MARS and ANN was 94.77% and 95.36%, respectively. Thus, ANN performed slightly better than MARS to simulate urban areas in Mumbai, India.

Streszczenie:
Abstract. In this paper, some outcomes of a research project which aims to introduce automation to speed up modelling of architectural spaces based on point clouds are presented. The main objective of the research is to replace some manual parametric modelling steps with automatic processes to obtain editable models in BIM-ready software and not to generate non-parametric IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) models. An approach of automation using visual programming for interior wall modelling based on point clouds is presented. The pipeline and the different concepts represented in this paper are applicable using different programming languages but here the use of Rhinoceros as a modelling software and its open-source visual programming extension "Grasshopper" is intentional as it is in common use for parametric modelling and generative design in architectural practice. In this research, it is assumed that there is a predominance of three mutually orthogonal directions of the walls in the interior spaces to be analysed, which is the case of most indoor spaces.

Streszczenie:
Climatic parameters fluctuate dynamically and their turbulences become more significant as the influence of the climate change increases. A robust model that is able to factor in the recent climate change for long-term climatic parameters forecasting is desired to strategically plan for future anthropogenic activities. In this study, two stochastic time series model, namely the seasonal auto-regressive integrated moving average (SARIMA) model and the artificial neural network (ANN) model are used to predict monthly mean temperature (Tmean), relative humidity (RH), wind speed (u) and pan evaporation (Epan) up to 12 months ahead. This study is conducted using data collected from three meteorological stations in the northern region of the Peninsular Malaysia. The stochastic models forecasted the Tmean with the highest accuracy, followed by RH, u and Epan. Besides, despite the increasing time step (from 1 to 12 months), the accuracy of the models remain consistent. However, both of the models are susceptible to the occurrence of extreme climates. In general, the SARIMA model performs better than the ANN model, probably attributed to its ability to consider the seasonality of the climatic data rather than depending solely on black-box computation.

Streszczenie:
This paper presents an investigation into the development of parametric and non-parametric approaches for dynamic modelling of a flexible manipulator system. The least mean squares, recursive least squares and genetic algorithms are used to obtain linear parametric models of the system. Moreover, non-parametric models of the system are developed using a non-linear AutoRegressive process with eXogeneous input model structure with multi-layered perceptron and radial basis function neural networks. The system is in each case modelled from the input torque to hub-angle, hub-velocity and end-point acceleration outputs. The models are validated using several validation tests. Finally, a comparative assessment of the approaches used is presented and discussed in terms of accuracy, efficiency and estimation of the vibration modes of the system.

Streszczenie:
Within a supply chain organisation, where millions of messages are processed, reliability and performance of message throughput are important. Problems can occur with the ingestion of messages; if they arrive more quickly than they can be processed, they can cause queue congestion. This paper models data interchange (EDI) messages. We sought to understand how best DevOps should model these messages for performance testing and how best to apply smart EDI content awareness that enhance the realms of Ambient Intelligence (Aml) with a Business-to business (B2B) supply chain organisation. We considered key performance indicators (KPI) for over- or under-utilisation of these queueing systems. We modelled message service and inter-arrival times, partitioned data along various axes to facilitate statistical modelling and used continuous parametric and non-parametric techniques. Our results include the best fit for parametric and non-parametric techniques. We noted that a one-size-fits-all model is inappropriate for this heavy-tailed enterprise dataset. Our results showed that parametric distribution models were suitable for modelling the distribution’s tail, whilst non-parametric kernel density estimation models were better suited for modelling the head of a distribution. Depending on how we partitioned our data along the axes, our data suffer from quantisation noise.

Streszczenie:
This paper gives a formalized description of the procedure for constructing widely used discrete spatial-parametric models of the real estate market in terms of set theory – an apparatus specially created for describing discrete spaces. The presentation is carried out in comparison with the approaches and concepts of a related methodology – regression models of mass appraisal of real estate objects. The methodology of discrete spatial-parametric modeling of the real estate market is used for market monitoring, for building dynamic market indices and for mass appraisal of real estate objects. The methodology is based on statistical cluster analysis and also allows for static interpolation spatial-parametric forecasting of the values of market indicators in small clusters with insufficient sample size and in narrow markets with little or no supply. The application of the methodology of discrete spatial-parametric modeling of the real estate market is demonstrated on the example of the residential real estate market in Moscow.
