The purpose of this research is to show how the oriental nation affected the German literature as it affected other nation's culture and literature. In these pages we can see how the conflict was and what the current position is the opinion of European most great German authors such as Harder and Goethe, which distinguish Arabic oriental literary life from the west part of the glop where armies vividly occupied eastern Arabic lands through their power the Arabs got rid of the Superficiality and looked deeper into their own identification. German writers tried to reach the essence of Islamic civilization as well as the essence of Arabic poetry and the religious spirit in the East literature on the contrary of the German literature also religious translations that attracted the attention of writers in Germany. Eastern equestrian spirit which influencing Arab poetry, the poetry in Europe became an essential part of chivalrous life. Fairy tales like One Thousand and One Nights, Tragedy of AL Mansour also and mix of the two techniques, the oriental traditional East and the non-traditional European, Goethe believes that Arab literature reached a peak in the Middle Ages that only Greek and Roman literature reached before them, our research contains The opinion of a German translator Stefan Weidner who said that since the 1970s, we can note that Germany has become an increasingly attractive target for Arab immigrants so we see our honorable great writers whom affected the German literary life from Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine. Many of them preferred permanent residency in Germany, chose to contribute to German and Arab cultural life, and in many cases, played the role of mediator between the two cultures.

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to determine the influence of waiter’s/waitress’ menu knowledge on his/her personal selling skill at Cinnamon Restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta. The quantitative method was used by collecting data from sample of 14 respondents who were the waiter/waitress of Cinnamon Restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta, and also using interviews and literature study. Analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results of this research show that waiter’s/waitress’ menu knowledge has a positive influence on his/her personal selling skill. Conclusions of this research, there was a significant influence between waiter’s/waitress’ menu knowledge on his/her personal selling skill at Cinnamon Restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta of 87,5% with correlations coefficient of 0.936. ABSTRACTTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengetahuan menu pramusaji pada keterampilan penjualan di Restoran Cinnamon, Hotel Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dengan mengumpulkan data dari sampel 14 responden yang merupakan pramusaji Cinnamon Restaurant, Jakarta, dan juga menggunakan wawancara dan studi literatur. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan menu pramusaji memiliki pengaruh positif pada keterampilan penjualan pribadinya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, ada pengaruh signifikan antara pengetahuan menu pelayan / pelayan tentang keterampilan penjualan di Cinnamon Restaurant, Jakarta sebesar 87,5% dengan koefisien korelasi 0. 936.

Translated Arabic Literature as a window to Foreign Mentalities: On the problem of the reception of foreign-cultural literature This article is concerned with the structure of hermeneutic understanding in order to "guarantee within cultural traditions a possible action-oriented self-understanding of individuals and groups and a reciprocal foreign understanding of other individuals and other groups through translated literary texts. Through this study, it can be stated that regional knowledge. i.e. knowledge of the historical, political, economic, and cultural peculiarities of a people cannot express the "spiritual body of a nation's inner history". In order to achieve this, i.e. to make the mentality of a foreign culture recognizable, in the sense of v. Eichendorff's poetry. in our case, the literature of a people in which ways of thinking and feelings, thought content, and emotional content are congealed in contemporary North African literature. To provide such guidance. At the same time, it opens the view for certain deficits of the recipient, which have to be compensated if one does not want to remain on the surface of the foreign culture. In oriental countries, this includes the necessary knowledge of the basics of Islam and knowledge of myths and rites, which have become the language of fairy tales in particular. because the religious and the folk and superstition are the forces that motivate the everyday life of oriental peoples, which cause their life motivation. Such active forces always flavor the literature of peoples However, contemporary North African literature is not just a literature of self-expression by its authors. an attempt to find oneself spiritually at home, it is also a window on literature in the sense of Karl Dedecius, the main addressee of which is not only the local reader but above all the Foreigners, the Europeans, the French or the Spaniards, who often even provided the authors with the language and in whose language area many of the North African authors also live. The literature suggests the possibility of different drug dosage requirements between patients of different ethnic origins. This study thereby attempted to investigate the average dosages of psychotropic medications being prescribed for Orientals versus Occidentals using a retrospective drug history review and an international opinion survey. The retrospective drug history review compared drug dosages for four commonly used psychotropic medications in well matched Oriental and Occidental populations. Data from this review showed that final/maintenance dosages of amitriptyline were significantly lower for Orientals than Occidentals. The opinion survey assessed the responses of psychiatrists in the Orient, as well as in North America, with respect to average dosages prescribed for the two populations; their beliefs in possible variability and causes underlying the variability. Data indicated that significantly lower dosages of chlorpromazine, phenelzine, diazepam, and chlordiazepoxide are being prescribed for Orientals as compared with Occidentals. Beliefs in differences were dependent upon the degree of exposure to Orientals. Suggested etiological factors underlying the variability were usually related to drug metabolism, side effects, and body weight. In both types of studies, Orientals appeared to have lower prescribed dosages than Occidentals. The lower dosages, however, appeared to be a function of the physician's experience in treating the Oriental population.

AbstractThis article discusses the perpetration of Orientalism in the arena of contemporary South Asian literature in English: no longer an Orientalism propagated by Occidentals, but ironically enough, by Orientals, albeit by diasporic Orientals. This process, which is here termed as Re-Orientalism, dominates and, to a significant extent, distorts the representation of the Orient, seizing voice and platform, and once again consigning the Oriental within the Orient to a position of ‘The Other’. The article begins by analysing and establishing the dominant positionality of diasporic South Asian women writers relative to their non-diasporic counterparts in the genre, particularly within the last half decade. It then identifies three problems with the techniques employed by some diasporic authors which have exacerbated the detrimental effects of Re-Orientalism; the pre-occupation with producing writing which is recognisably within the South Asian genre, the problem of generalisation and totalisation, and the insidious nature of ‘truth claims’.

Ivan Jablonka busca por algo mais do que a simples combinação de história, ciência social e literatura. Ele gostaria que a história – ela própria compreendida como ciência social – fosse uma literatura do mundo real. Ele também se interessa por uma literatura que se orienta não apenas pelos resultados, mas também, de modo mais decisivo, pelas formas de raciocínio e de investigação da história e de outras ciências sociais afins (principalmente, a antropologia e a sociologia). A própria inserção de Jablonka dentro dos Annales parece evidente, principalmente por sua ênfase na cognição, na pesquisa orientada por problemas e no estatuto da história como ciência social. No entanto, as relações entre história, literatura e ficção não receberam muita atenção ou análise por parte dos pesquisadores dentro e ao redor dos Annales e, nesse contexto, Jablonka leva a compreensão da história para direções relativamente pouco exploradas. Apesar de possíveis discordâncias sobre pontos específicos, o livro instigante de Jablonka levanta questões muito relevantes, abre várias linhas significativas de investigação e busca uma interação desejável entre as abordagens históricas e literárias.

En consecuencia, el objetivo consistió en examinar las trayectorias temáticas a partir de las publicaciones científicas que circulan en CNKI. Como método se utilizaron técnicas como búsqueda de la literatura y agrupaciones de publicaciones en orden cronológico, por objeto de investigación y por temática, para identificar inclinaciones temáticas en una ventana de observación que abarca dos décadas de publicaciones en China, destacando la metodología que se aplica en cada temática con un eje central de explicación del análisis cuantitativo y empírico en la literatura. El alcance de este artículo está orientado a mostrar una visión general del estado actual de producción de conocimiento que permita a los investigadores orientar futuras investigaciones en el campo del comercio entre China y América Latina.

Resumen: Este artículo presenta tendencias generales de investigación de relacionamiento económico y negocios internacionales, a partir de la revisión de la literatura científica. En consecuencia, el objetivo consistió en examinar las trayectorias temáticas a partir de las publicaciones científicas que circulan en Scopus. Como método se utilizaron técnicas de minería de datos y análisis de contenido, para identificar clúster en el campo de estudio, en una ventana de observación que abarca cerca de tres décadas de publicaciones, identificando tópicos centrales y jerarquizados. This article examines James Clarence Mangan's ‘Literæ Orientales’, six articles he published in the Dublin University Magazine between 1837 and 1846. Many of the translations of Persian and Turkish poems Mangan offers in these articles are, in fact, original poems masquerading as translations, and Mangan uses them, and his reflections on orientalism and contemporary translation theory, to critique the ignorance and arrogance of Western attitudes to Eastern literature and culture, and undermine facile notions of transparent translation. He also plays on the long-standing association of Ireland and the East, seen in Mangan's Dublin University Magazine colleague Samuel O'Sullivan's labelling of papists and nationalists as ‘Affghans at home’, to plant subversive comparisons of the Irish and Oriental colonized in the journal of Anglo-Irish cultural hegemony.

El presente artículo repasa la literatura medieval destinada a la formación de los príncipes avanzando para ello por la tradición historiográfica. Así, la necesidad de formar a un gobernante asesorado por unos consejeros en la misión de salvación de su pueblo sufrió un gran cambio durante los siglos XII-XIV: a) un primer momento centrado en definir las virtudes del<br />“buen rey” en el Liber Iudicum del siglo VII español; b) un marcado carácter oriental venido de Al-Andalus, con un maestro filósofo como preceptor en los exempla morales de finales del XI y principios del XII; c) unión de herencia hispánica e influencias orientales y occidentales propia<br />del siglo XIII, donde el dominio occidental queda evidenciado de la mano de Egidio Romano y su De regimine principum. “The problem of the Ottoman heritage” today, with special emphasis on the problems of reception, classification and periodization elderly Bosniak’s literature in the Ottoman language This article focuses on the general sketch of “the problem of the Ottoman heritage” today, with special emphasis on the problems of reception, classification and periodization elderly Bosniak’s Literature in the Ottoman language. The paper attempts to indicate the “syncretic” nature of every imperial civilization, including the Ottoman Empire, and to indicate some general features of the historical dilemmas and development of the written word in a meeting with other cultural traditions. The phenomenon of Bosniak’s literature in Oriental languages, including literature in Ottoman Turkish language, is the phenomenon very interesting for our literary trends in literary production of the Balkan peoples too. It is, simply, about a live tradition that has influenced and still influences on the occurrence of literary works very relevant not only for contemporary Bosniak literature, but for literature of other Slavs in the Balkans. It is a fact worthy for scientific research. „Problematyczne” dziedzictwo osmańskie i ogólne problemy recepcji, klasyfikacji i periodyzacji starszej literatury bośniackiej w języku osmańskim W niniejszym artykule podjęte zostały zagadnienia współczesnego „problematycznego dziedzictwa osmańskiego” ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kwestii recepcji, klasyfikacji i periodyzacji wczesnej literatury bośniackiej w języku tureckim. Zwrócono w nim uwagę na naturalny „synkretyzm” każdej cywilizacji imperialnej, także imperium osmańskiego, i wskazano podstawowe przyczyny historycznego rozwoju słowa pisanego w zetknięciu z inną tradycją kulturową. Kwestia istnienia literatury bośniackiej w językach orientalnych, włączając w to również literaturę w języku tureckim imperium, jest interesującym zjawiskiem istnienia tendencji dominujących w twórczości literackiej ludów Półwyspu Bałkańskiego, odnosi się bowiem do żywej tradycji, która wpływała i nadal oddziałuje nie tylko na współczesną bośniacką twórczość literacką, ale także na literaturę innych Słowian na Bałkanach, co stanowi przedmiot ważnych badań naukowych.

Arab culture and the religion of Islam permeated the traditions and customs of the African sub-Sahara for centuries. When the early colonizers from Europe arrived in Africa they encountered these influences and spontaneously perceived the African cultures to be ideologically hybridized and more compatible with Islam than with the ideologies of the west. This difference progressively endorsed a perception of Africa and the east being “exotic” and was as such depicted in early paintings and writings. This depiction contributed to a cultural misunderstanding of Africa and facilitated colonialism. This article briefly explores some of the facets of these early texts and paintings. In the first place the scripts by early Muslim scholars, who critically analyzed early western perceptions, were discussed against the textual interpretation of east-west perceptions such as the construction of “the other”. Secondly, the travel writers and painters between 1860 and 1930, who created a visual embodiment of the exotic, were discussed against the politics behind the French Realist movement that developed in France during that same period. This included the construction of a perception of exoticness as represented by literature descriptions and visual art depictions of the women of the Orient. These perceptions rendered Africa as oriental with African subjects depicted as “exotic others”.

Study of the Mythical, Exotic and Supernatural Characters in the Oriental Legends of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer ABSTRACT: This article aims to shed light on different crossings, interferences, interculturalities and considerable literary evolution between East and West, that was inherited from remote times creating an influence which look like a pearl necklace where the first pearl complete the next one. Spanish literature has always been inspired by traditional oriental Arabic poetry such as the Qasidah, located in the Andalusian historical past that had its roots in the pre-Islamic Arabic literature of the Jahiliya. In order for this influence to be justified, we have focused on the legends of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, from Seville author inspired by Eastern mythology, especially Arabic and Hindu that he adopted, thanks to his readings of authors such as Conde de Noroña (1760-1816). Famous with his book Asiatic Poems (1833) that opened the taste for what is exotic and for what is oriental. That romanticists like Bécquer used to feed their imaginations creating legendary, exotic, supernatural and, above all, mythical characters from Arab and Hindu mythology, creating, in this way, simultaneously a great diversity and richness of themes nourished by traditions and distant beliefs. RESUMEN: Este artículo tiene como objetivo arrojar luz sobre distintos cruces, interferencias, interculturalidades y evolución literaria considerable entre Oriente y Occidente que se heredó desde tiempos remotos creando una influencia que se asemeja a un collar de perlas donde la primera perla llama a la siguiente. La literatura española siempre se inspiró en la poesía árabe tradicional oriental tal como la qasidah, ubicada en su pasado histórico andaluz que tuvo su raíz en la literatura preislámica árabe del Yahiliya. Para que quede justificada esta influencia, nos hemos focalizado en las leyendas de Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (1836-1870), un autor sevillano inspirado en la mitología oriental, en especial, árabe e hindú que adoptó gracias a sus lecturas de autores como Conde de Noroña (1760-1816) célebre por su libro Poesías asiáticas (1833), que abrió el gusto por lo exótico y lo oriental, que los romanticistas como Bécquer se sirvieron para alimentar sus imaginaciones creando personajes legendarios, exóticos, sobrenaturales y, sobre todo, míticos de la mitología árabe e hindú, creando, de esta manera, simultáneamente una gran diversidad y riqueza temáticas nutridas de tradiciones y creencias lejanas.

A maioria dos acidentes vasculares cerebrais (AVCs) não cardiogênicos ocorre devido à formação de ateromas decorrente de arteriosclerose que envolve a artéria carótida. Hipertensão, fumo, obesidade e sedentarismo são alguns dos fatores predisponentes à formação de ateromas. Esse processo leva à diminuição do lúmen dos vasos e à alteração do fluxo sangüíneo, podendo desencadear o AVC. Estes são achados radiográficos em panorâmica e quando calcificados são observados como massa radiopaca na região de tecido mole, no espaço intervertebral C3 e C4. Identificados, o paciente deve ser orientado a consultar um neurologista. Este artigo de revisão de literatura orienta a identificação de ateromas em pacientes susceptíveis ao AVC.

The work is devoted to the study of the correlation between the motives, images, symbols, stereotypes and clichés existing in modern Ukrainian literature, which outline the Eastern philosophical tradition, and the formation and transformation of identity at different levels and types. The consideration is carried out in the context of the emergence of the latest Ukrainian myth as a basis for national ideology. The purpose of the research is to outline the paradoxical nature of the general reception and individual explications of oriental motifs in modern Ukrainian literature on the occasion of those segments that can be defined through the predications of genre or mass. The article outlines the peculiarities of the reflection of oriental motifs in modern Ukrainian literature related to the dominance of the aesthetic and philosophical influences of the paradigm of postmodernism in the national tradition during the last decades. It also notes the connection between the reception of oriental motifs in Ukrainian modern literature and the politicization of modern public discourse on the occasion of the meaning-making East-West dichotomy. Political and ideological contexts of literary discourse and speech practices acquire signs of ambivalence and function as symbolic constructions. The dual nature of the reception of the image and philosophy of the East in the Ukrainian literary tradition and mass consciousness of both the metaphysical East and the geopolitical East has been clarified. The direction of transformation of oriental motives and images in the mass consciousness and literary usus in the context of finding the identity of different types and levels of generality in Ukrainian society and culture is also recorded. The liminal type of culture correlates with a divided society, and as a result the rational-educational interpretation of the image of the East as the antithesis of the West interacts with the postmodern fusion and mutual determination of East and West.

This paper results from an investigation with the theme of Chinese images in Portuguese literary Orientalism. The study will show the situation of Portugal in the period, which reveals the double axis (Western and national) of the critique of Orientalism Portuguese. We will look for the oriental representations in the works of the authors of the Generation of 1870, whose works renew Portuguese literature with orientalist tendencies. Next, we will develop a reading of the images of Macau in authors of the territory, which configure the symbolism in Portuguese. In addition, oriental exoticism is highlighted in Chinese female images in the works of Wenceslau de Moraes (1854-1929) and Maria Ondina Braga (1932-2003). The analysis of the female images will show the observation of the Portuguese authors about the Eastern Other. The three facets of reading will facilitate the understanding of the double axis of criticism and the perception of the construction of the Lusitanian identity with the literary imaginary of the exotic East.

This essay argues that Byron’s Lara (1814) invokes Orientalist discourses so as to suggest the queer potential of its love plot. I contend that “Oriental love,” with its expansive connotations, represents a more apposite name for Byron’s pluralist sexual drives than the “Greek love” that has often been attributed to him. The essay supports these claims by examining a recurring type in Orientalist ethnography: the page boys who served eminent men in the Ottoman Empire, sometimes sexually. Allusions to the figure of the page boy in seventeenth- to nineteenth-century texts show that Muslim same-sex practices were widely known, if not lengthily discussed. After tracking the circulation of this Orientalist trope, I look at its reworking in the form of Lara’s boyish servant, Kaled. I maintain that, by juxtaposing the nonexclusionary nature of Ottoman eros with the open question of Kaled’s sex, the poem undermines the hermeneutic urge to decide, according to the emerging hetero/homo binary, the sexual identity of the characters or the poem’s author. At the same time, I show how Lara stages and ironizes upon the textual and social processes of heterosexualization that have made this queer suggestibility pass unnoticed for a general readership.

Objetivo: identificar os cuidados de enfermagem necessários às gestantes com HIV partindo das manifestações clínicas encontradas em revisão da literatura. Método: revisão na literatura realizada na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde e na Medline/Pubmed, entre abril e junho do ano 2021.Resultados: quanto aos cuidados de enfermagem 24(50%) referiram acompanhar e orientar no tratamento da terapia antirretroviral; 14(29,2%) orientar quanto aos cuidados; principal manifestação clínica/alteração com 13(27%) foi o medo do julgamento, transmissão vertical, efeitos da terapia antirretroviral, de morrer, de infecções oportunistas, estigma, discriminação, complicação obstétrica. Quanto aos diagnósticos de enfermagem destaca-se o medo relacionado a cenário pouco conhecido evidenciado por apreensão, sensação de medo e foco direcionado para a fonte do medo. Conclusão: os cuidados de enfermagem direcionados a gestante diagnosticada com HIV contribuirão para uma assistência mais assertiva, eficaz, inclusiva e respeitosa.

The writing of commentaries in the Oriental-Islamic tradition was originally focused on the text of the Qur’an and Hadith. The extremely strong religious tradition of hermeneutics and textual exegesis significantly influenced overall literacy, so that commentary appears as one of the most significant prose forms in classical Oriental-Islamic literature. In the unity and intertwining of different cultural identities in the Islamic civilization circle, searching for the literary works of Bosnians in Oriental languages, as an important component of the historical continuity of national literature, we find a significant number of commentaries from different fields, written in Arabic, Persian and Turkish. In this paper, some of the most significant commentaries on the poetry of Bosnian authors are presented.

«Oriental diction» is an important exotic element of Byron’s poem The Bride of Abydos. Using Oriental words that jarred with English poetry of early 19th century, and accompanying them with extensive notes, Byron gave his poem an experimental and scholarly character. While translating the English poem into Russian, I. I. Kozlov chose a creative approach to the problem of reproducing the Oriental diction (the exotic and bizarre words, style and poetics were somewhat downplayed), the reasons being the originality of the Russian culture of the early 19th century and Kozlov’s own literary taste.

One of the most excerpted of all classical ballets and considered the first example of the abstract form in modern dance is the “Kingdom of the Shades” sequence in Marius Petipa'sLa Bayadère, featuring thirty-two ghosts of Hindu temple dancers dressed in white entering the stage one by one with a simple arabesque cambre. What people often forget is thatLa Bayadèrewas a huge sensation in Europe during the romantic ballet years – the 1830s and 40s – 50 plus years before the Ballets Russes and a full generation before Petipa's 1877 production, which most assume to be the ballet's original. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a rapidly emerging hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome. However, its unrevealed mechanism and complicated comorbidities have led to no specific medication, except for weight loss and lifestyle modification. Alisma orientale (Sam.) Juzep (A. orientale, Alismataceae) has been increasingly reported on therapeutic effects of A. orientale against NAFLD and metabolic syndrome such as insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, and obesity. Therefore, this study aimed to review the preclinical efficacy of A. orientale and its chemical constituents including Alisol A 24-acetate, Alisol B 23-acetate, Alisol F, and Alismol against NAFLD and metabolic syndrome. A. orientale prevented hepatic triglyceride accumulation through suppressing de novo lipogenesis and increasing lipid export. In addition, it controlled oxidative stress markers, lipoapoptosis, liver injury panels, and inflammatory and fibrotic mediators, eventually influencing steatohepatitis and liver fibrosis. Moreover, it exhibited pharmacological activities against hyperlipidemia, obesity, and hyperglycemia as well as appetite. These biological actions of A. orientale might contribute to adiponectin activation or a role as a farnesoid X receptor agonist. In particular, Alisol A 24-acetate and Alisol B 23-acetate could be expected as main compounds. Taken together, A. orientale might be an effective candidate agent for the treatment of NAFLD and its comorbidities, although further assessment of its standardization, safety test, and clinical trials is consistently required.

Introdução: Atualmente, nenhum medicamento ainda se mostrou eficaz para seu tratamento da Covid-19, e ainda que não existam dados de ensaios clínicos que apoiem qualquer tratamento profilático, além das vacinas, outros medicamentos off-label estão sendo empregados. Neste escopo, insere-se a assistência farmacêutica, compreendida como um conjunto de ações voltadas à promoção, proteção e recuperação da saúde, tanto individual como coletiva. Objetivo: Apresentar uma revisão integrativa acerca da eficiência na assistência farmacêutica em relação aos potenciais riscos do uso indiscriminados de medicamentos na pandemia de Covid-19. Materiais e métodos: A coleta de dados ocorreu entre os anos de 2017 a 2022, através dos bancos de dados: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Google Acadêmico, e LILACS - Bireme (Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde). Resultados: Através da busca realizada a partir das bases de dados descritas foram encontrados um total de 11 artigos a partir dos descritores e critérios de busca aplicados a pesquisa. Discussão: O farmacêutico é um promotor de saúde, orienta o paciente quanto ao uso racional de medicamentos nesse tempo de pandemia de Covid-19. Cabe a esse profissional têm o dever de acompanhar a triagem de pacientes, acalmar e orientar, com a finalidade de evitar lotação do sistema de saúde. Conclusão: Apresentamos uma análise para que seja usada em futuros estudos a respeito do tema, dado que cabe ao farmacêutico, o último elo entre a medicação e o paciente, orientar e prevenir sobre a automedicação na Covid-19.

Na sequência da transferência da Corte portuguesa para o Rio de Janeiro, em 1807/1808, foi fundada a Academia Real Militar do Rio de Janeiro, em 1810, com o objetivo de formar a elite técnico-científica do Estado joanino. Orientada por tais objetivos educativos, essa escola superior de ensino técnico instituiu, no Brasil, um modelo de ciência e de ensino científico de matriz politécnica. A astronomia foi um exemplo dessa tendência. Num período em que a astronomia esférica se ia tornando crescentemente uma disciplina autônoma, Manoel Ferreira de Araújo Guimarães, professor de astronomia na Academia Real Militar do Rio de Janeiro, decidiu orientar o seu curso para esse ramo aplicado da astronomia e escreveu aquele que viria a tornar-se um dos primeiros manuais de astronomia esférica, um gênero maior da literatura científica do século XIX.

Streszczenie:

The article discusses the translation of the rubai genre in Kazakh literature. The works of poets who translated the lyrical, philosophical rubai of the poets of the East into the Kazakh language in an artistic motif have been comprehensively studied. The article analyzes the works of other poets, such as Oriental resins: Rudaki, Omar Khayyam, Shiraz, Rumi, Firdousi.

Persia during the 19th — early 20th century was studied comprehensively, the interests of Iranianists included issues of the Persian language and its dialects, geography, history, literature, culture, traditions and way of life, economy, the country's defense capability, its place in the geopolitical struggle of the Russian and British empires. A certain role in the study of the country was played by the Russian Geographical Society and the military departments of Russia. The Asian Museum at the Imperial Academy of Sciences, Kazan University, the Oriental Faculty of St. Petersburg University, the Lazarev Institute of Oriental Languages in Moscow, the Educational Department of Oriental Languages at the Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were centers of oriental studies in Russia.

This article aims to examine and trace the growth of Oriental Literature and its subsequent influence on World Literature. In a period demarcated and dominated by two completely opposite ideologies, namely the ‘Anglicist and Orientalist’ theories, it becomes very interesting to observe how the Colonial and the Western Mindset looked at the ‘colonized’ especially through the lens of the literature of Joseph Conrad, one of the most influential and popular writers in the early 20th century. As an extended influence on English Romanticism, Oriental Literature was instrumental in giving birth to new themes and ideas, enriching the minds of English writers. The discerning theories of Orientalism by Edward Said and OP Kejriwal and of Sub Altern Studies by Gayatri Spivak seemed to bridge our understanding between the ‘orient’ and the ‘occident’. Initially thought to be a theory languishing on the fringe, orientalism slowly grew in prominence, even among British Colonial administrators and scholars who agreed with the idea that Indians should be ruled according to their own traditions and laws, as a direct opposition to ‘Anglicanism’. The colonizers did look down upon the colonized which was quite evident in the literature of that era, a phenomenon also visible in the works of Joseph Conrad. The research paper will therefore try to delineate and present a nuanced comparative analysis of Joseph Conrad’s Western view as part of his works of Oriental Literature
