This review is proposed to address knowledge of organometallic compounds (OMC) in chemical applications and show these compounds' depth scope in different scientific studies. This review is based on outlining the gap between the traditional preparations and green chemistry synthesis of organometallic materials purposes in the experimental section of a researcher's papers. The most comparative research considers the drawbacks of organometallic compounds, including their applications in industrial, clinical, drug forms, and chemical reactions. However, many organometallic compounds are inherently poisonous. The most general challenge is producing alternative substances to creative green organometallic compounds, specifically in drug formulations systems. A wide range of chemical reactions have been investigated and formulated new organometallic properties this may be associated with an increased level of enhancement health systems. This study aims to determine the importance of organometallic compound in many path ways in various articles and confirmed how papers trying to characterize new organometallic substances in various chemical processes. Particular interest is given to knowledge synthesis OMC in medicine and industrially.

For decades, ligands such as phosphanes or cyclopentadienyl ring derivatives have dominated Coordination and Organometallic Chemistry. At the same time, alternative compounds have emerged that could compete either for a more practical and accessible synthesis or for greater control of steric and electronic properties. Guanidines, nitrogen-rich compounds, appear as one such potential alternatives as ligands or proligands. In addition to occurring in a plethora of natural compounds, and thus in compounds of pharmacological use, guanidines allow a wide variety of coordination modes to different metal centers along the periodic table, with their monoanionic chelate derivatives being the most common. In this review, we focused on the organometallic chemistry of guanidinato compounds, discussing selected examples of coordination modes, reactivity and uses in catalysis or materials science. We believe that these amazing ligands offer a new promise in Organometallic Chemistry.

The development of organometallic-type reactions in aqueous media is reviewed. Coupling reactions of allyl halides with carbonyl compounds mediated by zinc, or tin, or indium in aqueous media to give homoallylic alcohols are discussed. The stereochemical outcome is compared with similar reactions in organic solvents. A concise synthesis of (+)-muscarine is used to illustrate the usefulness of aqueous organometallic-type reactions in organic synthesis. The procedure to protect–deprotect hydroxy functional groups may not be necessary in these reactions. An application in the carbohydrate area is demonstrated with the synthesis of (+)-3-deoxy-D-glycero-D-galacto-nonulosonic acid (KDN). The mechanistic possibilities of organometallic-type reactions in aqueous media are outlined.

AbstractTungsten is an elegant substance, and its compounds have great significance because of their extensive range of applications in diverse fields such as in gas sensors, photocatalysis, lithium ion batteries, H2 production, electrochromic devices, dyed sensitized solar cells, microchip technology, and liquid crystal displays. Tungsten compounds exhibit a more efficient catalytic behavior, and tungsten-dependent enzymes generally catalyze the transfer of an oxygen atom to or from a physiological donor/acceptor with the metal center. Furthermore, tungsten has an n-type semiconductor band gap. Tungsten forms complexes by reacting with several elements such as H, C, N, O, and P as well as other numerous inorganic elements. Interestingly, all tungsten reactions occur at ambient temperature, usually with tetrahydrofuran and dichloromethane under vacuum. Tungsten has extraordinarily high-temperature properties, making it very useful for X-ray production and heating elements in furnaces. Tungsten coordinates with diverse nonmetallic elements and ligands and produces interesting compounds. This article describes an overview of the synthesis of various organometallic compounds of tungsten.

The synthesis of (diarylmethyl)sulfonamides and related compounds by a new manganese-mediated, cobalt-catalyzed three-component reaction between sulfonamides, carbonyl compounds and organic bromides is described. This organometallic Mannich-like process allows the formation of the coupling products within minutes at room temperature. A possible mechanism, emphasizing the crucial role of manganese is proposed.

The synthesis of organometallic compounds with potential pharmacological activity has attracted the attention of many research groups, aiming to take advantage of aspects that the presence of the metal-carbon bond can bring to the design of new pharmaceutical drugs. In this context, we have gathered studies reported in the literature in which psychoactive benzodiazepine drugs were used as ligands in the preparation of organometallic and metal complexes and provide details on some of their biological effects. We also highlight that most commonly known benzodiazepine-based drugs display molecular features that allow the preparation of metallacycles via C-H activation. These organometallic compounds merit further attention regarding their potential biological effects, not only in terms of psychoactive drugs but also in the search for drug replacements, for example, for cancer treatments.

Functionalization with fluorine atoms represents a versatile structural modification to finely tune both the emission colour and the electronic properties of organic and organometallic electroluminescent compounds. This paper reports an overview of our systematic investigation on the design and synthesis of the fluorinated version of two important classes of materials for organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), namely poly(arylenevinylene)s and phosphorescent phenylpyridine Iridium complexes. Synthetic pathways based on organometallic methodologies affording selectively fluorinated molecular structures will be discussed together with a summary of the effect of fluorination on the optical properties of the resulting materials. In particular we will highlight the possibilities offered by the organometallic methodologies as straightforward and resourceful tools to provide a wide series of fluorinated molecular architectures with high regio- and stereoselectivity, mild experimental conditions and good yields.

Methods. The modern Russian and foreign literature, available in the Pubmed, Medline, Springer, Scopus, e-LIBRARY databases were reviewed according to the problems of purulent-inflammatory diseases, skin and soft tissue infections, the integrated approach to the treatment of purulent-inflammatory diseases, synthesis, immobilized organometallic compounds. Results. The observational study of the specificrecent achievements in the modification of antimicrobial biomaterials is presented. Metal ions havea broad range of antimicrobial activity (especially on proliferation and remodeling), possess by bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect, demonstrate multiple inhibitory effects against bacterial strains and havebeen proveneffectivein improvingwoundhealing in all its phases. Natural products and especially biologically active metals such as silver, copper, zinc and germanium, are believed to be an alternative for the development of perspective biomaterials with antimicrobial properties. In recent years, new approach for the production and application of therapeutic and diagnostic drugs based on the immobilization or grafting of drugsubstances on polymer carriers has been developed. At present, namely the immobilized compounds that have opened the way to the creation of prolonged-action drugs with low toxicity and allergenicity. Conclusion. Template synthesis of new organometallic drug compounds is considered to be a promising direction in the wound infection treatment, which requires further experimental and clinical study.

Organosulfur compounds are widely used for the manufacture of drugs and materials, and their synthesis in general conventionally employs nucleophilic substitution reactions of thiolate anions formed from thiols and bases. To synthesize advanced functional organosulfur compounds, development of novel synthetic methods is an important task. We have been studying the synthesis of organosulfur compounds by transition-metal catalysis using disulfides and sulfur, which are easier to handle and less odiferous than thiols. In this article, we describe our development that rhodium complexes efficiently catalyze the cleavage of S-S bonds and transfer organothio groups to organic compounds, which provide diverse organosulfur compounds. The synthesis does not require use of bases or organometallic reagents; furthermore, it is reversible, involving chemical equilibria and interconversion reactions.

Background: The inherent problems accompanying chemotherapy necessitate the development of new anticancer approaches. The development of compounds that can disrupt cancerous cellular machinery by novel mechanisms, via interactions with proteins and non-canonical DNA structures (e.g. G-quadruplexes), as well as by alteration of the intracellular redox balance, is nowadays focus of intense research. In this context, organometallic compounds of the noble metals Pt and Au have become prominent experimental therapeutic agents. This review provides an overview of the Pt(II) and Au(III) cyclometalated compounds with a chelating ring containing a strong C-M σ -bond to improve the stability of the compounds with respect to ligand exchange reactions and biological reduction. Furthermore, these properties can be easily tuned by modification of either the anionic cyclometalated or the ancillary ligands. Special focus has been set to C^N, C^N^C, C^N^N and C^N^S platinum(II) and gold(III) pincer complexes regarding their synthesis and biological mechanisms of action as anticancer agents. Methods: A structured search of both chemical and medicinal databases for peerreviewed research literature has been conducted. The quality of retrieved papers was appraised using standard tools. The synthesis as well as the chemical and biological properties of the described compounds were carefully reviewed and described. The findings were outlined using a conceptual framework. Results: In this review we included 155 papers, the majority originating from high-impact papers on the synthesis and biological modes of platinum(II) and gold(III) compounds. Among them, 17 papers were highlighted to give an introduction to the use of Pt and Au compounds with medicinal properties, mainly focussing on coordination compounds. The synthesis and medicinal properties of organometallic compounds of various metals (such as Fe, Ru, Ti) were outlined in 51 papers. These compounds included metallocenes, metallo- arenes, metallo-carbonyls, metallo-carbenes (e.g. N-heterocyclic carbenes), and alkynyl complexes. The C^N, C^N^C, C^N^N and C^N^S pincer complexes of platinum( II) (46 papers) and gold(III) (44 papers) were discussed concerning their synthesis, stability and advantages to develop therapeutic compounds. We strove to show the consistent development of C^N, C^N^C, C^N^N and C^N^S platinum(II) and gold(III) pincer complexes regarding their synthesis and biological modes from the early beginnings to the most recent findings. Conclusion: This review supplies a profound overview of the development of organometallic compounds for medicinal purposes, setting special focus to the synthesis and stability of C^N, C^N^C, C^N^N and C^N^S pincer complexes of platinum(II) and gold(III) and their use as anticancer agents.
