Pełny tekst źródłaIn the airline industry, problems are various and complicated. Solving these problems aims at reducing costs and maximizing revenues. Revenues can be increased while improving the quality of service. For example, one way is to catch new passengers on existing flight connections or on new markets. The selection of new markets consists in determining network structure to operate, and to estimate passengers flow, their choice of itineraries as well as incomes and costs incurred by these decisions. Our research is about improving market planner engine. Milanamos develops an application for the analysis and simulation of markets intended for air-ports and airlines. It offers its customers a decision-making tool to analyze historical data andto simulate markets in order to find an economic opportunity. This project takes place earlierin the decision process. Thanks to a thorough data analysis, the air transport network could be modelized as a time-independent graph and stored in the Neo4j graph database. We then defined the Flight Radius problem which resolution allows to determine a sub-network centered around a flight for which market shares of the flight are meaningful. Several methods have beenproposed based on queries or on shortest path algorithms combined with acceleration and parallelism techniques. Our algorithms identify some new markets for a flight. Combining graph theory with databases offers new opportunities for analyzing and studying large networks

Pełny tekst źródłaWe consider in this thesis Edge Computing (EC) as a multi-tenant environment where Network Operators (NOs) own edge resources deployed in base stations, central offices and/or smart boxes, virtualize them and let third party Service Providers (SPs) - or tenants - distribute part of their applications in the edge in order to serve the requests sent by the users. SPs with heterogeneous requirements coexist in the edge, ranging from Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) for controlling cars or robots, to massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC) for Internet of Things (IoT) requiring a massive number of connected devices, to media services, such as video streaming and Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), whose quality of experience is strongly dependant on the available resources. SPs independently orchestrate their set of microservices, running on containers, which can be easily replicated, migrated or stopped. Each SP can adapt to the resources allocated by the NO, deciding whether to run microservices in the devices, in the edge nodes or in the cloud.We aim in this thesis to advance the emergence of real deployments of the“true” EC in real networks, by showingthe utility that NOs can collect thanks to EC. We believe that thiscan contribute to encourage concrete engagement and investments engagement of NOs in EC. For this, we point to design novel data-driven strategiesthat efficiently allocate resources between heterogeneous SPs, at the edge owned by the NO, in order to optimize its relevant objectives, e.g., cost reduction, revenue maximization and better Quality of Service (QoS) perceived by end users, in terms of latency, reliability and throughput, while satisfying the SPs requirements.This thesis presents a perspective on how NOs, the sole owners of resources at the far edge (e.g., at base stations), can extract value through the implementation of EC within a multi-tenant environment.By promoting this vision of EC and by supporting it via quantitativeresults and analysis, this thesis provides, mainly to NOs, findings that can influence decision strategies about the future deployment of EC. This might foster the emergence of novel low-latency and data-intensive applications, such as high resolution augmented reality, which are not feasible in the current Cloud Computing (CC) setting.Another contribution of the thesis it that it provides solutions based on novel methods that harness the power of data-driven optimization.We indeed adapt cutting-edge techniques from Reinforcement Learning (RL) and sequential decision making to the practical problem of resource allocation inEC. In doing so, we succeed in reducing the learning time of the adopted strategies up to scales that are compatible with the EC dynamics, via careful design of estimation models embedded in the learning process. Our strategies are conceived in order not to violate the confidentiality guarantees that are essential for SPs to accept running their computation at the EC, thanks to the multi-tenant setting

Pełny tekst źródłaThe work presented in this thesis aims at proposing approaches to build data warehouses (DWs) by using the columnar NoSQL model. The use of NoSQL models is motivated by the advent of big data and the inability of the relational model, usually used to implement DW, to allow data scalability. Indeed, the NoSQL models are suitable for storing and managing massive data. They aredesigned to build databases whose storage model is the "key/value". Other models, then, appeared to account for the variability of the data: column oriented, document oriented and graph oriented. We have used the column NoSQL oriented model for building massive DWs because it is more suitable for decisional queries that are defined by a set of columns (measures and dimensions) from warehouse. Column family NoSQL databases offer storage techniques that are well adapted to DWs. Several scenarios are possible to develop DWs on these databases. We present in this thesis new solutions for logical and physical modeling of columnar NoSQL data warehouses. We have proposed a logic model called NLM (Naive Logical Model) to represent a NoSQL oriented columns DW and enable a better management by columnar NoSQL DBMS. We have proposed a new method to build a distributed DW using a column family NoSQL database. Our method is based on a strategy of grouping attributes from fact tables and dimensions, as families´ columns. In this purpose, we used two algorithms, the first one is a meta-heuristic algorithm, in this case the Particle Swarm Optimization : PSO, and the second one is the k-means algorithm. Furthermore, we have proposed a new method to build an efficient distributed DW inside column family NoSQL DBMSs. Our method based on the association rules method that allows to obtain groups of frequently used attributes in the workload. Hence, the partition keys RowKey, necessary to distribute data onto the different cluster nodes, are composed of those attributes groups.To validate our contributions, we have developed a software tool called RDW2CNoSQ (Relational Data Warehouse to Columnar NoSQL) to build a distributed data warehouse using a column family NoSQL Database. Also, we conducted several tests that have shown the effectiveness of different method that we proposed. Our experiments suggest that defining a good data partitioning and placement schemes during the implementation of the data warehouse with NoSQL HBase increase significantly the computation and querying performances

Pełny tekst źródłaThe Information Centric Networking (ICN) represents a new paradigm that is increasingly developed within the Internet world. It brings forward new content-centric based approaches, in order to design a new architecture for the future Internet, whose usage today shifts from a machine oriented communication (hosts) to a large-scale content distribution and retrieval.In this context, several ICN architectures have been proposed by the scientific community, within several international projects: DONA, PURSUIT, SAIL, COMET, CONVERGENCE, Named Data Networking (NDN), etc.Our thesis work has focused on the problems of routing in such networks, through a NDN architecture, which represents one of the most advanced ICN architectures nowadays.In particular, we were interested in designing and implementing routing solutions that integrate quality-of-service metrics (QoS) in the NDN architecture in terms of current Internet usage. This latter is indeed characterized by a heterogeneity of connections and highly dynamic traffic conditions.In this type of architecture, data packets broadcast is organized in two levels: the routing planand the forwarding plane. The latter is responsible for routing packets on all available paths through an identified upstream strategy. The routing plan is meanwhile used only to support the forwarding plane. In fact, our solutions consist of new QoS routing strategies which we describe as adaptive. These strategies can transmit packets over multiple paths while taking into account the QoS parameters related to the state of the network and collected in real time.The first proposed approach is designed on the basis of a on-line Q-learn type inductive learning method, and is used to estimate the information collected on the dynamic state of the network.The second contribution is an adaptive routing strategy designed for NDN architectures which considers the metrics related to QoS. It is based on the similarities between the packet forwarding process in the NDN architecture and the behavior of ants when finding the shortest path between their nest and food sources. The techniques used to design this strategy are based on optimization approaches used "ant colonies" algorithms.Finally, in the last part of the thesis, we generalize the approach described above to extend it to the simultaneous consideration of several QoS parameters. Based on these principles, this approach was later extended to solving problems related to congestion.The results show the effectiveness of the proposed solutions in an NDN architecture and thus allow to consider QoS parameters in packet delivery mechanisms paving the way for various content-oriented applications on this architecture
