The uniformity and reproducibility of the photoresist nanopatterns fabricated using near-field scanning optical nanolithography (NSOL) are investigated. The nanopatterns could be used as nanomasks for pattern transfer on a silicon wafer. In the NSOL process, uniform patterning with high reproducibility is essential for reliable transfer of the mask patterns on a silicon substrate. Using an aperture type cantilever nanoprobe operated at contact mode and a positive photoresist, various nanopatterns are produced on thin photoresist layer coated on the silicon substrate. The size and shape variations of thereby produced patterns are investigated using atomic force microscope to determine their uniformity and reproducibility. It is demonstrated that the NSOL-produced photoresist nanomasks can be successfully applied for silicon pattern transfer by fabricating a silicon nanochannel array.

Severe drought events are known to cause important reductions of gross primary productivity ( GPP ) in forest ecosystems. However, it is still unclear whether this reduction originates from stomatal closure (Stomatal Origin Limitation) and/or non-stomatal limitations (Non-SOL). In this study, we investigated the impact of edaphic drought in 2018 on GPP and its origin (SOL, NSOL) using a dataset of 10 European forest ecosystem flux towers. In all stations where GPP reductions were observed during the drought, these were largely explained by declines in the maximum apparent canopy scale carboxylation rate V CMAX,APP (NSOL) when the soil relative extractable water content dropped below around 0.4. Concurrently, we found that the stomatal slope parameter ( G 1 , related to SOL) of the Medlyn et al . unified optimization model linking vegetation conductance and GPP remained relatively constant. These results strengthen the increasing evidence that NSOL should be included in stomatal conductance/photosynthesis models to faithfully simulate both GPP and water fluxes in forest ecosystems during severe drought. Abstrak Cisplatin (CP) merupakan agen kemoterapi yang banyak digunakan dan menyebabkan nefrotoksisitas. Minyak jintan hitam (MJH) dan madu (M) diketahui memiliki efek nefroprotektif. Tujuan: Mengetahui efek dan sinergitas kombinasi MJH dan madu pada kadar malondialdehid (MDA) ginjal tikus yang diberi pajanan CP. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 ekor tikus jantan yang dibagi menjadi 10 kelompok: Kontrol Normal (KN) (diet ad libitum), MJH1 (1 mL/kgBB MJH), MJH2 (2 mL/kgBB MJH), M1 (3,7 mL/kgBB M), M2 (7,4 mL/kgBB M), MJH1-M1 (1 mL/kgBB MJH dan 3,7 mL/kgBB M), MJH1-M2 (1 mL/kgBB MJH dan 7,4 mL/kgBB M), MJH2-M1 (2 mL/kgBB MJH dan 3,7 mL/kgBB M), MJH2-M2 (2 mL/kgBB MJH dan 7,4 mL/kgBB M), dan CP (diet ad libitum). MJH dan madu diberikan secara oral selama 21 hari. Pada hari ke-18, KN diberikan NaCl 0,9% 1 ml/kgBB sedangkan sisanya diberikan CP dosis tunggal 8 mg/kgBB secara intraperitoneal. Kadar MDA ginjal diukur menggunakan metode thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). Didapatkan kadar MDA ginjal yang lebih rendah pada semua kelompok dosis tunggal dan kombinasi dibandingkan dengan kelompok CP (p=0,000). Semua kelompok dosis kombinasi memiliki indeks kombinasi <1. Nigella sativa oil (NSO) and honey (H) have demonsrated nephroprotective effect. To investigate the effect and synergy of NSO and honey combination on kidney malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in CP-induced rats. Thirty male rats were divided into ten groups: Normal Control (NC), NSO1, NSO2, H1, H2, NSO1-H1, NSO1-H2, NSO2-H1, NSO2-H2, and CP-treated group which received ad libitum diet, 1 mL/kgbwt. NSO, 2 mL/ kgbwt. NSO, 3.7 mL/kgbwt. H, 7.4 mL/kgbwt. H, 1 mL/kgbwt. NSO and 3.7 mL/kgbwt. H, 1 mL/kgbwt. NSO and 7.4 mL/kgbwt. H, 2 mL/kgbwt. NSO and 3.7 mL/kgbwt. H, 2 mL/kgbwt. NSO and 7.4 mL/kgbwt. H, ad libitum diet, respectively, for 21 days. On the 18th day, NC group received 1 ml/kgbwt. NaCl 0.9% while the rest received 8 mg/kgbwt. single dose CP intraperitoneally. Kidney MDA levels was measured using thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) method. Kidney MDA levels was significantly lower in all single and combination dose treatment groups compared to CP-treated group (p=0,000). Combination index of all combination dose treatment groups is <1. NSO and honey combination provided synergistic protective effect against CP-induced oxidative damage in kidney tissue in rats. Aim: To characterize the patterns of dental anomalies (DA) in the mixed and permanent dentitions of patients with nonsyndromic oral cleft (NSOC). Methods: This cross-sectional, observational, case-control study included 173 patients, 61 with mixed dentition (NSOC=29 and control=32) and 112 with permanent dentition (NSOC=57 and control=55). All subjected were submitted to clinical and radiographic examination. Dental anomalies of eruption, number, size and shape outside the cleft area were considered. Results: Although there was no statistical significance among patients with mixed dentition, dental agenesis was the anomaly more common in this group. In patients with permanent dentition, a higher prevalence of DA in NSOC group compared to control group was observed (p=0.02). Gyroversion and dental agenesis were the DA more frequently observed in the permanent dentition and the second premolar was the tooth more affected (p=0.003). Mandible and the left side were more involved, and dental agenesis was more frequently found in patients with unilateral cleft lip with or without cleft palate (NSCL±P). Conclusion: Our findings show a higher frequency of DA in NSOCs than in the control group in patients with permanent dentition, mainly due to a higher occurrence of agenesis of second premolars in patients with unilateral NSCL±P.

This study examined sport leaders’ perceptions of the use of stated values in the management and performance of their organization. Qualitative data were collected from nine Canadian national sport organizations (NSOs) in a multiple-case studies design, involving analysis of interview transcripts. Results indicated that while many of the NSOs operated from a traditional management by objectives approach, they perceived management by values (MBV) as being important and contributing to enhanced organizational performance. Leaders indicated that more efforts to engage staff members in developing core organizational values and to strategically use values in day-to-day management practice were required. A 4-I Framework describing how an NSO can progress through different stages of strategically using values in management practice was developed. NSO leaders also voiced an interest in embedding organizational values into NSO strategic and other planning processes.

Amostras simulando o pastejo de capim-Tanzânia (Panicum maximum Jacq.) irrigado sob três resíduos pós-pastejo (baixo, médio e alto) foram coletadas ao longo de um ano e analisadas para a determinação da composição protéica e dos carboidratos, e das frações protéicas e de carboidratos (CNCPS). O teor de NDT foi calculado. Não foi encontrada diferença entre os tratamentos ao longo do ano. Os maiores teores de fibra em detergente neutro - FDN (68,3 a 64,5%) e fibra em detergente ácido - FDA (34,89 a 33,18%) ocorreram no período de primavera/verão. A lignina apresentou maiores proporções no inverno (4,68 a 4,10%), o que provocou variação na fração C dos carboidratos (14,14 a 23,21% dos carboidratos totais). O NDT variou entre 55,26 e 59,31%. O teor de PB apresentou tendência de aumento ao longo do ano, variando de 11,29 a 14,61%. Os teores de nitrogênio não-protéico (NnP) variaram entre 18,23 e 28,77%PB, sendo menor para os pastejos de primavera/verão. O Nsol variou de 24,97 a 35,97 %PB. A fração de nitrogênio aderido à FDN (nFDN) foi, em média, de 49,11%PB. Para o nitrogênio aderido à FDA (nFDA), a variação foi de 6,48 e 11,94 %PB. A menor qualidade da planta foi entre julho a setembro, podendo estar relacionada à menor renovação de tecidos durante o período de inverno e ao acúmulo de perfilhos florescidos. A maior proporção do N encontra-se na parede celular (fração B3) e foi, em média, de 40%PB, indicando que essa fração deve ter prioridade de estudo no tocante à cinética de degradação ruminal.

Purpose Organisational performance of sport organisations has been studied over the last three decades. However, little attention was paid towards performance management (PM) compared to performance measurement. The purpose of this paper is to close this research gap by establishing a holistic perspective for PM of National Sports Organisations (NSOs) that accounts for their uniqueness, the interdependence of their operating systems and their relationship with their environments. Furthermore, this paper presents a holistic model of PM for NSOs. Design/methodology/approach The model was developed from a literature review process and uses the macro, meso and micro framework to describe external and internal environmental influences that affect the PM of NSOs. Findings The NSO’s ability to respond to the dynamics of their external environment by implementing organisational processes that account for the resources available and their structural designs influences their PM. Furthermore, the ability of the individuals within NSO to create enabling environments for PM influences organisational efficiency and effectiveness. Research limitations/implications This paper contributes to sport management literature on the PM of NSOs, and informs sport managers on ways to improve organisational performance by implementing holistic approaches to PM. Originality/value This is the first study that takes a holistic approach to PM of NSO and depicts the specific elements that play a crucial role in managing NSO’s multi-dimensional performance.

With growing governmental involvement in sport, there has been a corresponding demand on national sport organizations (NSOs) to operate within performance measurement systems. In this study, we analyze data from New Zealand to determine NSO officials’ perceptions of (a) their reporting relationship with the central agency (Sport and Recreation New Zealand), and (b) the system of performance contracts (or “investment schedules”). Following Norman (2002), we found differing perceptions regarding the legitimacy of performance systems and three tensions emerged. First, the clarity of focus enabled by performance measurement was tempered by the perception of an ever-changing political environment. Second, NSO officials acted strategically and opportunistically at times, marshalling arguments around performance measures to “capture” their principal. Third, neither trust nor distrust in the system necessarily translated into compliance; some NSOs sought independence from the system. This research speaks to the legitimacy of performance systems, a significant but tenuous element to their sustainability.

The reaction of (Me2N)3S+NSO− with sulphur has been investigated by ultraviolet–visible, infrared, Raman, and 14N, 17O, and 33S nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies. The red species (λmax 501 nm) formed initially is tentatively identified as SSNSO−. This anion is thermally unstable with respect to the formation of S4N− and sulphur oxyanions. Previously reported salts of the "NSO2−" ion have been reinvestigated by infrared, Raman, and 14N nmr spectroscopies, which indicate that the major component of these salts is the NSO− ion. The reaction of (Me2N)3S+NSO− with S4N4 is shown by 14N nmr spectroscopy to produce both S3N3O−, the major product, and S3N3−. Keywords: nitrogen–sulphur–oxygen (N–S–O) anions, 14N NMR spectroscopy.

The Northern Spotted Owl (Strix occidentalis caurina) (NSO) was listed as federally threatened in 1992 due to widespread logging of its old-growth forest habitat. The NSO recovery plan in 2011 elevated competition with Barred Owls (Strix varia) (BO) and wildfires as primary NSO threats based partly on the assumption that severely burned forests were no longer NSO nesting and roosting habitat. We quantified amount of logging before and/or after wildfire and opportunistic detections of BOs within two home range scales (0.8 and 2.09 km) at 105 NSO sites that experienced severe wildfire from 2000–2017. Logging affected 87% of severely burned NSO sites, with BO recorded at 22% of burned-and-logged sites. Most (60%) severely burned NSO sites had evidence of logging both before and after fires while only 12% of severely burned sites had no logging or BO detections, indicating rarity of NSO territories subjected to severe fire without the compounding stressors of logging and invasive BOs. We recommend changes to NSO habitat modeling that assume nesting and roosting habitat is no longer viable if severely burned, and to the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s practice of granting incidental take permits for NSOs in logging operations within severely burned owl sites.

Projektet inleddes med en omfattande marknadsundersökning där syftet var att ta reda på vad primär- och sekundäranvändare av höga barnstolar har för åsikter om dessa och samtidigt undersöka det befintliga utbudet av höga barnstolar. På den undersökta marknaden hittades ingen barnstol som var ergonomisk för både barnet och föräldrarna. Det fanns inte heller någon som riktade sig till kunder med behov av en stol till barbordshöjd eller köksö. Då svenska kök i allt större utsträckning har antingen barbord eller köksö, upptäcktes här ett behov.

Ett skelett som växer är extra känsligt för snedbelastningar. Dessutom är kroppen inte gjord för att sitta i en traditionell nittiogradig sittställning. Alarmerande siffror på antalet ungdomar med ryggproblem gjorde det därför till ett självklart val att utveckla en stol som skulle vara ergonomisk för både barnet och föräldrarna. Projektgruppen arbetade fram tre koncept, för att senare besluta sig för att jobba vidare med ett sadelkoncept.

Med Svan AB, tillverkare av barnmöbler, som en extern mentor har projektet bedrivits i egen regi. För att komma fram till ett bra resultat har projektgruppen använt sig av en rad olika metoder. Bland annat så har en fokusgrupp varit engagerad under hela utvecklingsprocessen.

Projektgruppen har tagit fram tre modeller i naturlig storlek. Vid tillverkning av den första modellen så halverades måtten på en sadelsits för vuxna. Därefter har en mängd förändringar gjorts, mycket tack vare de användartester som utförts på barn både från Grottans föskola och BVC Nyhem. Sitsen tillverkades till slut i plåt och testades igen på olika barn från sex månader till sju år. Projektgruppen har hela tiden anpassat former och lösningar efter de mycket hårda standarderna som finns för höga barnstolar. Efter en rekommendation från Kjell Hagström som är VD på Svan AB så har projektgruppen följt både EU-standarderna och USA-standarderna. Den tredje modellen testades på många barn innan den slutgiltiga prototypen tillverkades.

Resultatet blev en barnstol med sadelsits som med hjälp av ett ben med gasfjäder går att höja upp till barbordshöjd. Sitsen är tillverkad i plåt som sedan har klätts med vaddering och konstläder. Bygel och ryggstöd är tillverkade i böjträ som betsats i en nyans som kallas för ”espresso”. Även fotstödet är tillverkat i trä som sedan har betsats. Bygel och ryggstöd går att justera i djupled medan fotstödet går att justera i höjdled.

Projektgruppen är mycket nöjd över resultatet, som efter ett slutgiltigt användartest bevisligen uppfyller både syftet och målet.

The evolution of every day gadgets into smart-devices able to react to their surrounding environment is enabling the development of novel applications aiming revolutionize the industry related to this technology. Currently much attention has been given to standardizing IoT and M2M in order to build an interoperable foundation that will enable the growth of the future Internet, where devices will communicate without, or at least minimizing, human intervention. In this dissertation is presented in first place issues such as: heterogeneity, scalability, addressing and the first approach taken by the ETSI M2M standard. Subsequently, is presented the ETSI M2M vision and high-level architecture together with current work in this area. Finally an implementation of the network middleware is going to be presented along with further testing.
A evolução dos dispositivos do dia a dia em dispositivos inteligentes capazes de reagir ao ambiente que os rodeia está a permitir a criação de novas aplicações que visam revolucionar a industria. Atualmente tem-se dado muita atenção a estandardização da Internet das Coisas e comunicações máquinaa- máquina, com o objetivo de construir uma fundação interoperável que permitirá o crescimento futuro da Internet, onde os dispositivos irão comunicar sem, ou com mínima, intervenção humana. Nesta dissertação é apresentado em primeiro lugar requisitos como heterogeneidade, escalabilidade, endereçamento e a primeira abordagem feita pelo standard M2M do ETSI. Consequentemente, é a apresentada a visão e a arquitetura e o trabalho realizado nesta área. Por fim é apresentada a implementação da componente de rede realizada nesta dissertação juntamente com os respetivos testes.

Contrairement à certaines attentes, il s'agit de faire l'éloge de la pluralité des cultures face à la hantise croissante du nivellement intégral des identités culturelles. Donc, loin de dresser une liste quelconque des philosophies chez les Nso' d'antan comme d'aujourd'hui, nous abordons certains problèmes relevant de cette hantise. Mis à part les deux chapitres introductifs, ou se présente l'esquisse du problème essentiel, et la conclusion, l'ensemble du travail pourrait se diviser en deux phases dont l'une traite le contexte historique des philosophies et des pratiques coloniales et néocolonialistes auxquelles se heurtent les fonctionnements et les aspirations créatives des communautés culturelles comme celle des Nso' et dont l'autre offre une vue panoramique à la fois culturelle, historique et spatiale du pays Nso'. En effet, si la première phase nous a permis d'esquisser les distinctions entre les concepts de culture et ses diverses formes de matérialisation comme langue, race, religion et corps politique, la deuxième phase s'efforce de présenter certaines perspectives fonctionnellement endogènes à la culture Nso'' tout en dégageant les éléments conceptuels sous-jacents à partir d'un vaste corpus de textes enregistres et transcrits que nous traduisons en français. Ainsi, cette étude couvre un corpus constitue de nos enquêtes sur place afin de permettre aux lecteurs de mieux apprécier le fonctionnement des philosophies d'expression orale chez les Nso'. Recherche interdisciplinaire en philosophie du langage, elle exige à ce titre l'inauguration des sciences de l'oralité de transmission
Contrary to some expectations, the study lauds the plurality of cultures confronted with the growing obsession of an integral levelling of cultural identities. Hence, far from drawing up whatever list of philosophies among the nso' of yore and of today, i have tackled some of the problems arising from that obsession. Apart from the two introductory chapters, where the essential problem is carved out, and the conclusion, the whole work presents two phases, one of which deals with the historical context of colonial and neocolonial philosophical practices with which the operative and creative aspirations of cultural communities such as that of the nso' of cameroon are wrestling; and the other offers a simultaneous cultural, historical and spatial outlook of the nso' country. Consequently, if the first phase enabled us to exhaust every sketch of the distinctions between the concepts of culture and its diverse forms of materialization such as language, race, religion and political bodies, the second phase attempts to present some perspectives which are functionally indigenous to the nso' culture, while unravelling the underlying conceptual elements from a vast corpus of taped, translated texts which we translate into french. Thus, the study covers the whole range of our fieldwork so as to enable our readers to make a better evaluation of the functioning of orally expressed philosophies. An interdisciplinary research, it's the dawn of the oral sciences

Abstract Due to its ability of recording images of surfaces with subwavelength resolution, near-field scanning optical lithography (NSOL) provides a prospective solution for nanolithography. A variety of different photolithography processes at the nanoscale have been realized. However, the development of polymerization at optical near field is yet an unexplored area to researchers. In this paper, we report a series of computerized simulations to investigate some basic phenomena in NSOL. In this work, we introduce a cylindrical model to represent the metal-coated NSOM tip illuminated by a Gaussian beam. Using numerical method to solve the Maxwell equations to determine light intensity distribution, we applied the result of intensity profile for the first time to study the induced photo-polymerization from reaction kinetic equations of continuum media. We then studied the dependence of curing height and curing radius upon exposure time, with the optimized aperture size and tip sample distance. It has been demonstrated in this work the feasibility of nanolithography with NSOM tip, which would provide a new pathway to nanofabrication.

Recently, near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) and its variations, which combine the scanning probe technology with optical microscopy, have been intensively applied in the study of biology, material science, surface chemistry, information storage, and nanofabrication. However, due to the serial scanning nature, the speed at which NSOM can successively records highly resolved images is rather limited. This hampers the applications of NSOM in characterizing dynamic response of particular samples. In this article, we perform systematic investigation of NSOM system parameters, which include scan rate, signal detector amplification, and illumination intensity. In this work, a model of signal flow for the NSOM system has been established to quantitatively investigate the interplay of the key process parameters and to further explore the technique solutions for high-speed NSOM imaging. The model is in good agreement with experimental results and the optimized conditions for high speed NSOM imaging are suggested.

Abstract It is well-known that underetch material, contamination, particle, pinholes and corrosion-induced defects on microchip Al bondpads will cause non-stick on pads (NSOP) issues. In this paper, the authors will further study NSOP problem and introduce one more NSOP failure mechanism due to Cu diffusion caused by poor Ta barrier metal. Based on our failure analysis results, the NSOP issue was not due to the assembly process, but due to the wafer fabrication. The failure mechanism might be that the barrier metal Ta was with pinholes, which caused Cu diffused out to the top Al layer, and then formed the “Bump-like” Cu defects and resulted in NSOP on Al bondpads during assembly process.

Abstract We present the first known images acquired using near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) through backside silicon on functional integrated circuit samples with higher resolution than conventional fault isolation (FI) tools. NSOM offers the possibility of substantially-improved lateral resolution independent of excitation wavelength. Current FI techniques have challenged the resolution limits of conventional optics technology, even in the best solid immersion lens (SIL) to date. This poses a problem for future process technology nodes. This resolution barrier is a by-product of the diffraction limit. In Fourier terms, a conventional lens filters out highfrequency information and thus limits the resolution. In NSOM, by placing a tip with an aperture in extreme proximity to the surface it is possible to capture the near-field light that contains high-frequency information, thereby circumventing the diffraction limit. The tangible benefit is that the resolution is substantially improved. We show that NSOM can be used in backside subsurface imaging of silicon, mirroring the paradigm used in typical optical FI. We present optical reflectance data through ~100 nm of remaining backside Si on functional 22 nm CMOS IC parts with lateral resolution approaching 100 nm. We then discuss potential methods for using NSOM in practical backside fault isolation applications and for improving signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
