Pełny tekst źródłaThe aim of this thesis was to identify all visuomotor adjustments that expert and non-expert tennis players might implement under various temporal and spatial constraints. Our core assumption applied to the existing relationship between visual perception of the ball trajectory and behavioral adjustment to. The experimental tennis court we had elaborated enabled us to watch the subjects in most reality-like game situations and to realize synchronized records of central vision and spatio-temporal parameters of movement. We noticed that ocular pursuit of the ball trajectory generally ceases 150 ms prior to the precise moment of racket-ball contact. Increased temporal pressure made this cessation occur even earlier. The resulting delay was of 300 ms for non-expert players, 200 ms for expert players, the latter demonstrating their ability to have ocular pursuit near more closely the moment of racket-ball contact. By simulating an opponent, we could observe the mode of information pick-up in central vision diversify toward: continuous ocular pursuit of the ball trajectory, disrupted pursuit accompanied by temporary focus on the opponent, and visual "focusing" on a theoretical middle-point between the opponent and the probable stroke-execution point. The discussion treatised the role of the information pick-up time and angular ball velocity as well as the role of the visuomotor delay upon central vision. In terms of spatio-temporal parameters of movement, the higher the temporal pressure, the shorter the time window allocated to preparing for hitting the ball, the duration of the proper stroke remaining rather unchanged. We also could evidence temporal adjustments within the overall movement, overwhelmingly during the final preparation phase. The debate was to consider process-related aspects of how tennis players make a link between perception and action. The results of our study might be of great interest to those who may want to reconsider didactics in tennis

Pełny tekst źródłaThis thesis aims to both identify the information-movement couplings involved in the regulation of rhythmical hand-eye coordination (ball-bouncing task) and their development in children aged from 5 to 12 years old. Study 1 showed that racket period (Tr) is coupled to the duration of the ascending phase of the ball trajectory (tup) while the variation of racket velocity at impact (Δvr) is coupled to bounce error (ε). Studies 2 and 3 showed both poorcycle-to-cycle regulation ability and stereotyped behavior (characterized by a high racket frequency) in children aged from 5 to 7. From 7 to 12, results showed the emergence of the first information-movement coupling between Tr and the ball peak height while Δvr still remains not regulated. Since the age of 11-12, the first shifts from space- (hp) to time-relatedinformation (tup) in the control of Tr are observed. Developmental dynamics related to thenature of informaiton-movement couplings and the source of information involved is in accordance with the Freezing-Freeing-Exploiting developmental sequence proposed by (Savelsbergh & Van der Kamp ; 2000, 2003). Finally, study 4 showed that both children from9 to 12 and adults fixated their gaze at a location closed the target height while performing the task

Pełny tekst źródłaMuscular explosivity is associated with the notion of power (i.e., product of force and velocity) and represents the skill to produce as much work as possible in a short time period. During multi-articular movement, such as squat, bench press and pedalling, the force-velocity relationship has been described by a negative linear relationship. However, during more complex movements that involve the whole-body, the linearity of the force-velocity relationship has not yet been established yet. Moreover, the impact of fatigue on the force-velocity relationship remains uninvestigated. This work intended i) to investigate the force-velocity relationship during a movement that involved all body segments, the deadlift high pull; and ii) to explore the impact of fatigue on this relationship.In the experimental part of our work, we first determined the shape of the force-velocity relationship during the deadlift and high pull movement and evaluated the reproducibility of the performance and the force-velocity associated with this movement. Then, we compared the difference and correlation between the two commonly methods used to assess force-veloctiy relationships: the force platform and the accelerometer. At last, the impact of fatigue on the force-velocity performance and the force-velocity relationship was analyzed
