A genetic linkage map for apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) has been constructed using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers in 80 BC1 individuals derived from a cross LE-3246 × Vestar. From 26 different primer combinations, a total of 248 AFLP markers were scored, of which, 40 were assigned to 8 linkage groups covering 315.8 cM of the apricot nuclear genome. The average interval between these markers was 7.7 cM. One gene (PPVres1) involved in resistance to PPV (Plum pox virus) was mapped. Two AFLP markers (EAA/MCAG8 and EAG/MCAT14) were found to be closely associated with the PPVres1 locus (4.6 cM resp. 4.7 cM). These markers are being characterized and they will be studied for utilization in apricot breeding with marker-assisted selection (MAS).

Streszczenie:
Radiation-induced aging is a complex process that involves multiple molecular mechanisms. One of the primary mechanisms underlying radiation-induced aging is oxidative stress. Exposure to radiation can lead to the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can cause damage to DNA, proteins, and other cellular components. In addition to these mechanisms, radiation-induced aging can also involve alterations in gene expression, cellular metabolism, and epigenetic modifications. These changes can affect the function of various cellular pathways and contribute to the aging process. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of radiation-induced aging is critical for developing strategies to mitigate its effects. Potential interventions include targeting oxidative stress, promoting DNA repair, altering the epigenetic landscape and modulating cellular metabolism. However, further research is needed to fully elucidate the complex molecular pathways involved in radiation-induced aging and identify effective therapeutic approaches. In general, the molecular mechanisms of radiation's impact on aging discussed in this review provide a new perspective on radiation-induced aging and identify new targets for intervention.

Molecular imprinting–aptamer techniques exhibit the advantages of molecular imprinting and aptamer technology. Hybrids of molecularly imprinted polymer–aptamer (MIP–aptamer) prepared by this technique have higher stability, binding affinity and superior selectivity than conventional molecularly imprinted polymers or aptamers. In recent years, molecular imprinting–aptamer technologies have attracted considerable interest for the selective recognition of target molecules in complex sample matrices and have been used in molecular recognition such as antibiotics, proteins, viruses and pesticides. This review introduced the development of molecular imprinting–aptamer-combining technologies and summarized the mechanism of MIP–aptamer formation. Meanwhile, we discussed the challenges in preparing MIP–aptamer. Finally, we summarized the application of MIP–aptamer to the molecular recognition in disease diagnosis, environmental analysis, food safety and other fields.

Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune disease, caused due to selective destruction of melanocytes. It is characterized by depigmentation of skin. The mechanisms that underlie this phenomenon has not been clearly understood. Therefore, the aim of this review was to collate all the emerging information regarding the involvement of molecular components in vitiligo pathogenesis. Initial surveys suggested that certain chemicals were responsible for causing this skin disease. Recent genetic studies like twin studies show that vitiligo arises due to hereditary factors. Certain predisposing risk variants have been identified through can-didate gene studies and Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS). Skin biopsies and peripheral blood of vitiligo patients have revealed the presence of melanocyte targeting autoantibodies, increased T-cells and high levels of inflammatory cytokines, indicating that both humoral and cellular immunities play a major role in selective destruction of melanocytes. In addition to this, studies have shown the association of vitiligo with other autoimmune diseases, implicating that complications of other autoimmune diseases could lead to the development of vitiligo. Further research is required to understand the immune pathway of vitiligo and its commonness with other autoimmune disorders. This would help in tackling the disease therapeutically. Streszczenie:
Post-mortem interval (PMI) is a major component of investigation in forensic science. It is one of the fundamental tasks for forensic pathologist when a body is found. According to criminal law point of view, a correct estimation of the PMI allows authentication of witness statements, thus restrict the number of suspects. Accurate PMI estimation is difficult because of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Analysis of the biochemical changes in glucose and electrolytes for PMI estimation has made significant progress. Molecular ways in which measurable or quantifiable technique for degradation of nucleic acid molecule such as DNA and RNA, may be the good indicator for PMI. Several studies have tried to determine changes in molecular markers to provide more useful information for PMI. The studies demonstrated mixed results that showed the influence of ante and post-mortem factors on nucleic acid degradation. More studies would be required in order to standardize on human cases under standard parameters. Thus, molecular aspects of forensic involves this application of omicsin medical sciences to investigate cause of death and its process at the genetic basis and biological molecular level.
