Pełny tekst źródłaA new concept of programming based on the principles of communicating entities has been introduced in 1972 by C. Hewitt : the so-called actors communicate by sending and receiving messages ta/from ethers. We have used the same formalism to design and develop a parallel programming language, actors-oriented, called STUDIO. Its parallelism is particularly conceived in view of prototyping and simulation of real-time systems. The actors-oriented formalism of STUDIO offers the concept of families of actors allowing their classification in term of common functional attributes. STUDIO (language and software) allows modular programming built on program units called « plateau ». Also, it allows generic and uses abstract data types ta define families. A first compiler translate actually a STUDIO program in a C++ program. In mono processor environment. Pseudo-parallelism is achieved at run-time by a SIMULA-like kernel also written in C++

Pełny tekst źródłaA modular analysis had not been applied to the language functioning of mentally retarded subjects so far. This was the objective of the present work as well as to review a small number of exceptional cases of language development in mentally retarded subjects as appeared in the literature, and to analyze the language functioning of an adult subject with trisomy 21 with exceptional phonological and morph-syntactic abilities. Data confirm the modularity indications obtained in other analyses of pathological cases. The subject with trisomy 21 studied presents an important dissociation between the computational and the conceptual aspects of her language. The first ones are virtually normal; the second ones are at the level of her nonlinguistic cognitive functioning. Several explanatory hypotheses were investigated. The conclusion is that the case in question, as well as other corresponding cases in the literature, can be interpreted in terms of a preservation of the genetic programmes regulating core grammar development according to recent chomskyan theories
