Zánik bipolárního světa a zhroucení komunistických režimů vyvolalo nebývalou mobilitu lidí a předznamenalo novou fázi evropských migrací.

Whether too much or the wrong kind, constraining Indigenous mobility is a preoccupation of the province of British Columbia. The province remains focused on controlling Indigenous mobility and constructing forms of contentious mobility, such as hitchhiking, as bad or risky. In Northwestern British Columbia hitchhiking is particularly common among Indigenous women. Hitchhiking as a mode of contentious mobility is categorically named as “bad mobility” and is frequently explained away as risky behaviour. Mobility of Indigenous women, including hitchhiking is deeply gendered and racialized. The frequent description of missing and murdered Indigenous women as hitchhikers or drifters fosters a sense that “choosing” a bad mode of mobility alone is the reason that these women disappear. This paper will identify how hitchhiking, framed as contentious mobility supports the construction of missing and murdered Indigenous women as willing, available and blame-worthy victims. Morality is tangled up with mobility in the province’s responses to Indigenous women who hitchhike. This paper engages in a critical discourse analysis of billboards posted by the province of British Columbia along the Highway of Tears that attempt to prevent women from hitchhiking. This paper will identify the point of convergence between contentious mobility, violence against Indigenous women and larger questions of colonialism and the negotiation of racialized and gendered power imbalances through the province’s constraining of Indigenous mobility.

This article intends to analyse, especially from a public law point of view, the new scenarios concerning mobility, with specific attention to sharing mobility (or shared mobility) and micro-mobility. In the perspective considered, the paper aims to deepen the notion of shared mobility, also highlighting its sustainability profiles. The study is carried out starting from Italian legislation (and, in particular, from the first provision that recognized sharing mobility at national level), then also considering the regional and provincial legislation of reference. The article also aims to analyze the relationship between the sharing mobility and the topic of Mobility as a Service (MaaS). Particular attention is also paid to micro-mobility, which is considered both at EU and national level. From the latter point of view, the article intends to outline the current regulatory framework at national level, also underlining any critical issues that characterize it.

In this paper, I discuss transnational mobility using a perspective that emphasises conflicts at macro, mezzo and micro levels while seeking ways in which such a conflict model of migration can be devel-oped. I outline areas involving different degrees of conflict which are better seen on a continuous scale ranging from potential and latent tensions to violent conflicts and wars. Conflict aspects contribute to the dynamic nature of transnational human movements and, at the same time, appear to be antithet-ical to globalisation. The tensions/conflicts at individual, household, community, and state levels are not isolated from each other but inter-connect different levels. Within this conflict conceptualisation, transnational mobility appears as a move from human insecurity to human security[IN TURKISH]Bu makalede, makro, mezzo ve mikro düzeyde çatışmalara vurgu yapan bir perspektifle transnasyonal mobiliteyi (ulusötesi hareketlilik) tartışarak çatışma bazlı bir göç kuramı geliştirmenin olasılığını araştırıyorum.

Mobility support in education is one of key, longtime targets of the EU. Apart from significant financial resources that are put into this target through various EU programmes, mobility is also supported by other means. This master's thesis focuses on describing and analyzing mobility support in terciary education in the EU in view of the newest trends in this field -- the use of ICT. The aim is to introduce and critically evaluate the current problematics of academic mobility in the EU, describe the relation and importance of physical and virtual mobility and outline possible future developments. Furthermore, the paper attempts to justify this mobility support by putting academic mobility in the context of individual and economic competitiveness, and thus find out whether virtual mobility itself can be a catalyst for competitiveness.

Economic mobility constitutes a social aspiration in many modern societies however do we really know the actual evolution of social mobility? In other words: 1) how can we measure economic mobility with the data available or with the technology at hand? 2) What are the trends of economic mobility experienced by the current generation? Moreover 3) how mobile is a society relative to previous generations? These questions motivate this dissertation. The complexity of these issues may derive in some sort of paralysis but it is claimed here that it may be possible to learn something about its evolution by restricting analysis to a couple of key dimensions within the economic discipline: income and education. This is the scope followed by this research. The first paper in this dissertation is devoted to deal with the lack of the required data to examine the income dynamics within one generation. It is well known that longitudinal data is often scarce and is seldom available in many countries. This is the case even in well-developed countries! This conundrum has been partially addressed through recent methodological approaches by the so-called synthetic panels. The second part of this dissertation is entirely devoted to applied research. More specifically, the second and third papers describe long run trends of economic mobility in income and education respectively. The former is devoted to intra-generational mobility while the later is devoted to inter-generational mobility. Each of them address the second and third interrogations referred above. In a way this dissertation attempts to improve the addition of the time dimension in the analysis of economic wellbeing. It attempts to produce the effect of a motion picture by the use multiple snapshots. The trends contained herein are far from being perfect and complete but they are based on the use of extensive data and multiple methods covering three decades and the same number of generations in each case. This research expects to expand our knowledge on the empirics of economic mobility as most of the studies refer to few years of intra-generational mobility or to a couple of generations only. Furthermore, most of the empirical evidence available refers to Nordic and highly industrialized countries. Mexico is the canvas of this work but the approaches and principles followed here could be easily mimicked elsewhere. The roads of our lives are constantly moving: rising and falling. In a democratic context, it is useful to know, whether our society provides the chance to get ahead regardless of our origins, or whether this chance is ruled or doomed by them. Empirical evidence is needed to foster these deliberations. This dissertation may well be an invitation to sustain this kind conversation

Poirel, Maylis.

It is now essential for professionals in charge of the mobility services production to take into account their users. However, most of the time they work in the absence of users : in the case of classic services, the users are inaccessible, and in the case of emerging collaborative services such as carpooling, they don't exist yet. Professionals then use various devices, such as surveys, consultation, claims processing, communication, or information system, in order to represent the users in the different dimensions of the mobility services production. This thesis research relies on interactionist, sociotechnical and commmunication approaches in order to give a global understanding of the production of these various devices generally taken separately. The main argument is that the professionals build a fiction in which the users become characters: they go back and forth between staging interactions with the users and reflecting on them through storytelling. This research relies on a qualitative study with two mobility services producers in the Parisian region based on participant observation of work situations and semi-structured interviews with professionals. The first one is the regional Public Transport Authority in charge of the design and the operation of the regional public transport services. The second one is a short distance carpooling start-up launching an experiment in partnership with local authorities in the outer suburbs of the metropolitan area

This dissertation is a response to the negative trends in urban mobility, which led many authors to conclude on the need for a new approach to personal transport in the cities. The work has creative character, but in the conceptual level, it is taking into account the specific needs of sustainable urban mobility and build on the existing innovative transport solutions. The result of dissertation is a vehicle vision, understood as an element of urban mobility that respects the character of the zones of free movement of persons, but it is also suitable for transport over longer distances.

Streszczenie:
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">In the rapidly evolving era of software and autonomous driving systems, there is a pressing demand for extensive validation and accelerated development. This necessity arises from the need for copious amounts of data to effectively develop and train neural network algorithms, especially for autonomous vehicles equipped with sensor suites encompassing various specialized algorithms, such as object detection, classification, and tracking. To construct a robust system, sensor data fusion plays a vital role. One approach to ensure an ample supply of data is to simulate the physical behavior of sensors within a simulation framework. This methodology guarantees redundancy, robustness, and safety by fusing the raw data from each sensor in the suite, including images, polygons, and point clouds, either on a per-sensor level or on an object level. Creating a physical simulation for a sensor is an extensive and intricate task that demands substantial computational power. Alternatively, another method involves statistically and phenomenologically modeling the sensor by simulating the behavior of the perception stack. This technique enables faster-than-real-time simulation, expediting the development process. This paper aims to elucidate the development and validation of a phenomenological LIDAR sensor model, as well as its utilization in the development of sensor fusion algorithms. By leveraging this approach, researchers can effectively simulate sensor behavior, facilitate faster development cycles, and enhance algorithmic advancements in autonomous systems.</div></div>

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Advanced Autonomous Vehicles (AV) for SAE Level 3 and Level 4 functions will lead to a new understanding of the operation phase in the overall product lifecycle. Regulations such as the EU Implementing Act and the German L4 Act (AFGBV) request a continuous field surveillance, the handling of critical E/E faults and software updates during operation. This is required to enhance the Operational Design Domain (ODD) during operation, offering Functions on Demand (FoD), by increasing software features within these autonomous vehicle systems over the entire digital product lifecycle, and to avoid and reduce downtime by a malfunction of the Autonomous Driving (AD) software stack. Supported by implemented effective management systems for Cyber Security (R155), Software Update Management System (R156) and a Safety Management System (SMS) (in compliance to Automated Lane Keeping System (ALKS) (R157)), the organizations have to ensure safe and secure development, deployment and operation to fulfill legal requirements. Based on senior expert interviews from relevant AD stakeholders, a blueprint is developed to support the deployment and scalability of AD systems. Relevant roles for the operation will be presented and current gaps in the industry, regulation and academia are highlighted.</div></div>

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">American roadway safety is facing significant challenges. With traffic and pedestrian fatalities approaching record levels, a paradigm shift from Proof of Technology (PoT) to Proof of Value (PoV) will promote the Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) industry advancement. While a PoT-driven ecosystem has spurred the advancement of the V2X space, this paper underscores the value of a PoV mindset where solutions are focused on the user instead of being technologically driven. Users do not think in terms of minimum viable products (MVP). Instead, they anticipate useful, usable, and lovable products. Putting customers in sharp focus and planning products and services around their needs will pave the way for their widespread adoption and acceptance of V2X technology. This paper concludes with a call to make technology subservient to human needs rather than the other way around.</div></div>
