Pełny tekst źródłaIn the current environment, wireless networks are widely deployed, several technologies coexist, each of them response to a particular issue. These technologies have coexist to provide the best services to users. Moreover, the emergence of multi-interface mobile terminals (3G, WLAN, WMAN, etc. . ) has completely changed the vision of IP services. A mobile terminal is able to access services provided by their ISPs anywhere, any-time and most importantly, through any available access network according to the concept "Always Best Connected" (ABC). In order to take full advantage of this heterogeneous environment, the concept of ABC will be extended to the simultaneous use of different access networks. This new generation of communication systems is commonly called "multi-homing". In this context, different technologies, cellular, wireless LAN and wired networks coexist. Moreover, the generalization the heterogeneous environment has led operators to consider the combination of these different technologies, with the objective of offering better services to users. However, such a combination raises many issues such as the sessions control, authentication, QoS, user mobility. . . Etc, therefore, the current trend tends to offer an all IP network to facilitate this convergence. The IMS is a promising solution, which allows the convergence of heterogeneous networks and their interconnection with a management that is totally independent of the access network. This thesis studied the proposals for the multi-homing, and the mobility management for multi-homed terminals. It is interested in solutions based on the terminal, and the protocol SHIM6. It proposes an extension allowing the terminals implementing SHIM6 to have a simultaneous access to different access networks, which guarantee the application to have the best available access network. Subsequently, a study of mobility in this context is presented. Test-bed is set up to evaluate and validate these proposals, demonstrating their feasibility in a real environment. Now the simultaneous access is established, the second part of this thesis focuses on mobility management with guaranteed quality of service for current sessions. To achieve this, the proposed solution combines the protocol SHIM6 with IMS. The protocol SHIM6's role is the mobility management, and thus the change of access networks, seamlessly, while IMS ensures quality of service of established sessions. Two modes of mobility are studied: reactive and proactive. We also studied the inter-domain mobility and intra-domain. In both cases, a test-bed is set up to validate the proposals. The results show a significant reduction in the handover period, particularly in the proactive mode. The proposed solutions are based on the terminal, we evaluated their performance impact of the latter

Pełny tekst źródłaMy thesis concern is about knowledge and in depth-understanding of the annual distribution of individual mobility in France (distinguishing daily, weekend and long distance trips) according to the residential locations (by category of urban areas) via the development of an annual CO2 emissions assessment, to address the issue of climate change. After a brief methodological description of the tool, using the dataset of the most recent French National Transport Survey (2007-2008), the paper presents some typical results, declining the distribution of CO2 emissions due to this mobility according to the zone of residence: beyond the initial descriptive analyses, a cluster analysis of mobility behavior results in four profiles of mobility according to the CO2-emissions budgets on these three time segments of mobility. It shows that each type of mobility behavior is not available (nor uniform) in only one type of space. A "cocooning effect" can be detected but it is probably not strong enough to confirm that the citizens of (large) city centers during the weekend necessarily ruin their rather virtuous behavior on week days through the use of less polluting modes. Case studies by gender, frequent travelers (pendulous or transcontinental), and some travel purposes (e.g. shopping, leisure) provide additional results. Finally, the analysis of occupancy rates of the car for local travel shows, that more passengers in a vehicle is an important factor for its energy efficiency (and therefore CO2) due to mobility

Pełny tekst źródłaBy considering social, spatial and technological dimensions of people’s daily mobility, this thesis aims to develop an original environmental assessment method. In the recent years, passenger travel, as well as freight transportation, have grown significantly. Car is now the predominant mode of passenger transport and its impacts on environment, land-use planning, lifestyle and economy are well documented and at the centre of heated academic and political debates. The environmental assessment of peoples’ daily mobility requires an integrated approach to account for the transport system, but also the urban system in which it operates. In order to achieve this, this thesis introduces a method coupling two tools developed in two distinct scientific fields - land-use planning and environmental sciences: on the one hand, Land-Use and Transport Interaction models (LUTI) and, on the other hand, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods. Together, these tools can account for both technological processes involved in daily mobility, as well as interactions among stakeholders and territories. Throughout this thesis, the chosen evaluation framework is a strategic one, meaning that mobility is assessed through global and local environmental indicators on a large territory for medium and long-term alternatives. We describe the global context and the general approach in the first section of the thesis. The second part describes the SIMBAD-LCA method, which involves the integration of the LUTI model SIMBAD with a LCA method, in order to assess environmental impacts of the daily mobility of inhabitants in the Lyon urban area. The third part aims to illustrate the evaluation capability of the method in two steps. First, through a multicriteria assessment executed on disaggregated objects such as households and territories. Then, contrasted scenarios are built to assess broad and diversified alternatives. Finally, using the SIMBAD-LCA method, effects of technological, urban form and socio-economic parameters on environmental impacts associated with daily mobility are compared and discussed

But knowledge is still limited concerning the way to achieve this goal. In this thesis, we adopt a transdisciplinary approach based on geography and human and social sciences to build a theoretical framework to understand active mobility behaviors for an operational purpose. This framework was tested and operationalized using qualitative and quantitative methods and then applied to analyze mobility behaviors in the Bas-Rhin department (France). Pełny tekst źródłaThe multiagent simulation is a promising approach for smart city design and planning. In this context, we focus on the example of recharging electric vehicles on public charging points. This example illustrates a problem of managing limited and shared resources in time and space. Rolland May defines three main dimensions that should be integrated by the system: the space, the organisation and the time. In multi-agent simulations, the spatial dimension and the social dimension are the subject of numerous proposals in the literature. In opposite, time remains subject to very few studies and consideration. In addition, if a lot of research deals with spatial and organisational consideration in the agent's reasoning, the time consideration, as a system dynamic, is often overlooked.This highlights two aspects to which we want to contribute:- the need for interaction support to exchange spatial, social and temporal information;- the need for reasoning that takes this exchanged spatial, temporal and organisational information into account.Thought this thesis, our first objective aim at making the multiagent simulation paradigm evolve in order to consider time as a new medium of interaction, in the same way as the spatial environment or the organisational environment. For that purpose, we draw on existing approaches that are commonly used for modelling the space and organisations. Our model is called Agent-Group-Environment-Time (AGRET). It is an extension of the generic organisational model AGR and its variant AGRE.The originality of our approach is that it integrates the temporal dimension as an environment, in the same way as the spatial environment and the social environment. This time environment is used to support the exchange and the storage of time information. It complements the simulation scheduler which manages the simulation activation cycle. The implementation of this new interaction environment brings new possibilities. One of these possibilities is the use of temporal, spatial and social information, perceived through the environments, to optimise the agent's reasoning. In this context, we choose to focus on anticipatory reasoning which is particularly interesting in the context of the smart city. This anticipatory reasoning increases the realism of the simulation by showing a cognitive capacity that is specific to humans. It also improves the agent's decision mechanism by choosing a more relevant behaviour that takes into account the agent's temporal, spatial and social activation context. This anticipatory reasoning is based on information about the past, the present and the future, which the agent perceives through the temporal environment. The inclusion of future information in the anticipative reasoning is an original feature of this approach. This functionality is made possible by the temporal environment, which allows storing and perceiving information on the temporal dimension.To summarise, our contributions are both about time. Our first contribution is about the representation of time as an environment. In the multi-agent level, we propose an interaction support for the exchange and storage of information on space, time and organisation. Our second contribution is about temporal reasoning. We propose an anticipative reasoning based on the perception of spatial, temporal and social environments. In particular, we exploit the visibility of the future dimension of time that is allowed by the temporal environment. In the example of electric vehicles recharge, the integration of our approaches allows, at the collective level, the optimisation of the recharge distribution in space and time. We show this through an implementation on a multi-agent simulation model called SkuadCityModel. More generally, at the level of the smart city, the implementation of our contributions allows the optimisation of resource management in space and time

Based on a comprehensive and inductive approach of the rural households’ ways of living, our research shows the influence of the rural area’s features and of the households’ profile (in particular their spatial origin, their seniority in the area and their life project) on their daily practices. They are underlain by easy and cheap car-mobility, which could evolve as a result of three phenomena (rarefaction of fossil energy; stronger injunctions to sustainable development; public policies that incite to develop only the territories that are served by public transport). Our research evaluates the households’ leeway in terms of mobility practices and their potential for transition towards more sustainable practices. Thanks to the analysis of an action-research project we highlight the role of a lever of “personalized accompaniment” in terms of behavioral evolution and propose some prescriptive elements in favor of global mobility policies

Pełny tekst źródłaThe objective of this dissertation is to explore the situations of the body in an urban environment as mediated via different angles, scales and positions. A personal artistic démarche of editing records, surveys, and scrutinizes the mobility of passers and bystanders; the result is an audio-visual record that tracks the tactics of evasion, the speedy rhythms of steps, the intersections of the trajectories and the polyphony that form the thread of daily life in the city. Taking as a point of departure my personal experience - a change of scene (déplacement) in the metropolis of Paris - I examine the disorientations between the rendering of the foreigner’s gaze and the construction of videographic and photographic images. From a methodological point of view, three concepts of variable geometry organize these concepts in states of dynamic imbrication: delocation (déplacement), location (emplacement) and relocation (replacement). The first movement, which corresponds to the lived experience of immersion into the city, treats the sense-based dimension of pedestrian practices. The second, which concerns perception, interrogates the gaze of the observer and of the investigator and of the poetic treatment of taped visual and sonic material. The third concept entails a change of the plastic regime where the artistic body is divided in two: oscillating between the filming and the filmed where ultimately the videographic scene becomes a performative scene. The theoretical framework is likewise divided in two. On the one hand, it is inspired by Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology, by Simmel’s microsociology and by contemporary urban anthropology. On the other hand, it consists of an evidencing of resonances between my own démarche and those of artists active in the 1960s and 1970s like the Situationists, Valie Export, Vito Aconci or Esther Ferrer, as well as more contemporaries like Isabelle Grosse, Valérie Jouve, Mark Lewis and Maïder Fortuné, who scrutinize the scenographies of the body and of its images
