Streszczenie:
Delivering multimedia services to roaming subscribers raises significant challenges for content providers. There are a number of reasons for this; however, the principal difficulties arise from the inherent differences between the nature of mobile computing usage, and that of its static counterpart. The harnessing of appropriate contextual elements pertaining to a mobile subscriber at any given time offers significant opportunities for enhancing and customising service delivery. Dynamic content provision is a case in point. The versatile nature of the mobile subscriber offers opportunities for the delivery of content that is most appropriate to the subscriber’s prevailing context, and hence is most likely to be welcomed. To succeed in this endeavour requires an innate understanding of the technologies, the mobile usage paradigm and the application domain in question, such that conflicting demands may be reconciled to the subscriber’s benefit. In this paper, multimedia-augmented service provision for mobile subscribers is considered in light of the availability of contextual information. In particular, context-aware pre-caching is advocated as a means of maximising the possibilities for delivering context-aware services to mobile subscribers in scenarios of dynamic contexts.

This research is intended to evaluate the development of mobile multimedia based stop drug tutorial. This tutorial as a campaign to stop drugs, that should encourage people’s ability to integrate all information on mobile application. The tutorial focuses on how people understand about drugs and what to do if someone is drugs addicted. Stopping drug tutorial is created using ADDIE instructional development method, and during the developing stage, it is done using Multimedia Development Life Cycle according to Luther. Subjects of the research are experts in education, visual communication and information technology in the preliminary testing. Evaluation was conducted using the analytic descriptive method on mobile multimedia evaluation method, and interpreted in a narrative way based on the research findings. The evaluation of mobile multimedia application uses combination of multimedia evaluation that is used by educationalist with ISO 9126 that was used by software developer. The research findings show that mobile multimedia stop drugs application can be used with minor revision.

The study is aimed at theoretical substantiation, development and experimental testing of methods of applying mobile technologies by university students. The objectives of the study imply adapting mobile testing systems and mobile means of multimedia development for using in the classroom environment at universities. The research object is application of mobile ICT to the educational process. The research subject is methods of applying mobile testing systems and mobile means to conduct practical classes at the University. The studies of Ukrainian and foreign researchers dedicated to the question of using mobile ICT for the university educational process were analyzed. Mobile testing systems are defined as a variety of mobile software support aimed firstly to measure students’ academic results, which enables to automatize the process of both current and final control through applying modern testing means, and secondly to intensify the educational process comprehensively. It is found that mobile means of multimedia development are to fulfill the principles of multimedia, space vicinity, time contiguity, coherence, modality, excessiveness, personalization, interactivity signalization and individual distinctions. The authors have developed the methods of applying mobile testing systems by taking Plickers system, as the one providing the opportunity to arrange a rapid feedback between a lecturer and both an academic group and an individual student. The system also allows conducting mobile surveys, in- class general questioning and instant control of students’ attendance. The authors have developed methods of applying mobile tools of multimedia development through using augmented reality. The comparative assessment of functionality of mobile testing systems and mobile means of developing augmented reality multimedia was held. Efficiency of the developed technology was experimentally tested and confirmed.

Streszczenie:
Multimedia services over mobile networks present several challenges, such as ensuring a reliable delivery of multimedia content, avoiding undesired service disruptions, or reducing service latency. HTTP adaptive streaming addresses these problems for multimedia unicast services, but it is not efficient from the point of view of radio resource consumption. In Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks, multimedia broadcast services are provided over a common radio channel using a combination of forward error correction and unicast error recovery techniques at the application level. This paper discusses how to avoid service disruptions and reduce service latency for LTE multimedia broadcast services by adding dynamic adaptation capabilities to the unicast error recovery process. The proposed solution provides a seamless mobile multimedia broadcasting without compromising the quality of the service perceived by the users.

Streszczenie:
New application requirements like “real-time” and “multimedia” is formed gradually with the trend of convergence of the Internet, web 2.0 and telecommunication network. In the era of Internet and web 2.0, users hope to communicate under multimedia context, to which Weibo and other SNS have adapted a lot. Users of web community wish to demand real-time videos and share with others instantly. Network convergence, IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystems) and VoLTE deployment all make the telecom operators long for new multimedia services. In terms of the users, they want to receive multimedia service anywhere and anytime, while the service and content providers also want to build a barrier-free channel for offering and distributing service. Taking the related technologies and user requirements into consideration, a multimedia sharing service and application is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. The system technique schema and deployment solution could help understanding the multimedia sharing service framework and modules in the convergence network. Samples of signal flows and processes are demonstrated in 3 typical application scenarios. Business application, product perspective and business model analysis shows the great market potential of this new multimedia sharing application and service in the near future.

Streszczenie:
Mobile devices have been popular in recent years and the proliferation of mobile devices inspires the interest in mobile multimedia applications. However, memory is always the bottleneck in the traditional memory hierarchy. Scratchpad memory (SPM) is a promising on-chip SRAM to solve such problem. It has faster access time and less power-consumption compared to cache and off-chip memory. In this paper, we propose the efficient scratchpad memory management approach for mobile multimedia applications. SPM is partitioned for the assignment of the slices of the applications based on the profiling and the recorded history. Through the use of SPM, the memory footprint of mobile multimedia applications will be reduced for better performance and less power-consumption. The experimental results show that our approach is able to significantly reduce the power consumption and improve the performance of mobile multimedia applications.
