The analysis of age-related changes of psychophysiological condition and psychological well- being in healthy young men and in men with borderline neurotic disorders in 15-18 age group was conducted by 1) modeling of emotionally and psychologically strenuous activity; 2) modeling of positive emotions; 3) modeling of negative emotions. Psychophysiological testing was performed with correction sample, test on memory of numbers, test on mathematic equations, thermometric test. The results of psychophysiological testing show disturbance in a number of higher brain functions, namely, attention, short-term non-verbal memory, the rate of mathematic calculations, psychomotor static and dynamic coordination with minimal neurological disorders.

The study was carried out to verify how psychological models are able to explain the phenomenon of aggression among men. There is a lack of research that try to test in holistic way many factors of aggression. We try to enrich the results of research on male aggression by recognizing to what extent factors that have not been studied so far, such as willpower, temporal orientation, or the use of drugs or steroids, explain aggression in the group of men. The sample of men (N = 131) was selected deliberately in terms of substance dependence, steroid use and a free substance-free howl. Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) was used to measure five personality factors. The Zimbardo Time Perception Questionnaire (ZTPI) and the Start and Stop Control Questionnaire were used to measure temporal orientation and willpower, respectively. Correlation and hierarchical regression analysis were used for the statistical analyses. The results confirm the impact of personality, willpower construct and temporal orientation on the male aggression. We did not found that steroid use can be connected with aggression phenomena, but results supports the role of addiction. The research, however, has its limitations and the main ones are a small research sample and specific sample selection that make hard generalization of the results.

Evelyn Hooker’s Rorschach experiments are frequently remembered as an early use of the scientific method to gay-affirmative ends in psychology. Hooker determined that the Rorschach responses of gay and straight men were indistinguishable, and hence that the two groups were equivalently ‘well-adjusted’ in psychological terms. Yet Hooker’s conclusions were contingent upon particular methods of significance testing. Hooker’s rationale for the use of unmatched significance tests (which led her to conclude the two groups were similar) shows how her work was embedded within a context where psychological differences between lesbian/gay and straight persons were almost universally taken as evidence of lesbian/gay persons’ psychopathology. Hooker’s discussions of differences among gay men shows some problematic elements of ‘liberal humanist’ thinking. Hooker’s work ought to be favorably remembered more for the challenges that it presented to practices of diagnosing and detecting gay men, than for the particular psychological theory of male homosexuality that she voiced.

Introduction. Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare disease, whose main risk factor is genetic vulnerability. Despite care of men with MBC is modeled on care of women, men’s experiences with the disease and concerns related to the status of genetic mutation carrier are unique. So far, little is known concerning the psychological impact in BRCA1/2 testing, especially with regard to specific subset of individuals, such as male subjects and the elderly. Methods. We assessed self-reported anxiety and depression levels in 26 male subjects presenting at Unit of Breast Surgery in Breast Unit of AOUI Verona (MBC patients, n = 7; high-risk unaffected subjects, n = 19). We specifically examined the scores obtained by these subjects in the HADS questionnaire administered before and 6 months after the genetic testing for BRCA gene mutations. Results. Among the 17 unaffected men tested, 7 (41%) received a positive test (either BRCA1 or BRCA2 pathogenic variant) and 10 (59%) a negative test. Of the 9 MBC patients tested, only one subject received a positive test result. No significant differences were observed in mean scores, mean change from baseline to follow-up, either for those with T+ or T− test results. Discussion. Genetic testing for BRCA1/2 mutation was not associated in our sample with increased level of psychological distress as measured with HADS in a short-term evaluation.

Purpose To investigate the psychological impact of prostate biopsy, including relationships between physical biopsy-related symptoms and anxiety and depression. Patients and Methods A prospective cohort of 1,147 men, nested within the Prostate Testing for Cancer and Treatment trial and recommended to receive prostate biopsy, completed questionnaires assessing physical and psychological harms after biopsy in the Prostate Biopsy Effects study. Psychological impact was measured using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and scores were compared according to experiences of biopsy-related symptoms at biopsy, and at 7 and 35 days afterward, and in relation to biopsy results. Results A total of 1,144 men (99.7%) returned questionnaires at biopsy, with 1,090 (95.0%) and 1,016 (88.6%) responding at 7 and 35 days postbiopsy. Most men experienced biopsy-related symptoms as no problem or a minor problem, and overall levels of anxiety and depression were low and similar to normative levels. Of men receiving a negative biopsy result (n = 471), anxiety was greater in those experiencing problematic biopsy-related symptoms compared with those experiencing nonproblematic symptoms at 7 days for the following symptoms: pain (P < .001), shivers, (P = .020), hematuria (P < .001), hematochezia (P < .001), and hemoejaculate (P < .001). Anxiety was reduced, although symptoms were not, after 35 days. Overall levels of anxiety were low across all time points except at the 35-day assessment among men who had received a cancer diagnosis. Conclusion Problematic postbiopsy symptoms can lead to increased anxiety, distinct from distress related to diagnosis of prostate cancer. Men and doctors need to consider these additional potential harms of biopsy when deciding whether to initiate prostate-specific antigen testing.

This quantitatively driven sequential mixed methods study articulates the role of theory in mixed methods research and assesses the contribution of a mixed methods design to examining gender differences in men and women’s genetic testing decisions and the psychosocial factors impacting health-seeking behaviors post-testing. A quantitative online survey of BRCA-positive mutation men and women was followed by a qualitative component consisting of semi-structured telephone interviews regarding genetic testing and post-testing decision making. Findings reveal gender differences in testing motivations: women focus on health; men focus on their family’s needs. Gender differences also appeared in psychological states and surgical decisions, revealing women’s more negative psychosocial reactions to a positive BRCA test result and higher rate of selecting preventative surgery.

Objectives Some of community mitigation efforts on COVID-19 created challenges to ongoing public health programs, including HIV care and prevention services among men who have sex with men (MSM). The goal of the current study was to explore sociodemographic factors and the impact of COVID-19 on HIV testing among Chinese MSM during state-enforced quarantine. Methods We conducted a community based survey between May 1st to June 30th, 2020 on COVID-19 related impacts on HIV testing among 436 China MSM during the COVID-19 state-enforced quarantine. Results One-third (33.7%) of MSM received HIV testing during the quarantine period. Few participants reported difficulty accessing facility-based testing (n = 13, 3.0%) or obtaining HIV self-test kit online (n = 22, 5.0%). However, 12.1% of participants reported being afraid of getting facility-based HIV test due to concerns about the risk of COVID-19. In the multivariate logistic regression model, participants who were married (aOR: 1.89, 95%CI: 1.19–3.01), reported increased quality of sleep (aOR: 2.07, 95%CI: 1.11–3.86), and increased difficulty in accessing health care (aOR: 2.34, 95%CI: 1.37–3.99) were more likely to get an HIV test during the state-enforced quarantine. Conclusion The mitigation measures of COVID-19 have created various barriers to access HIV related prevention services in China, including HIV testing. To mitigate these impacts on HIV prevention and care services, future programs need to address barriers to HIV-related services, such as providing high-quality HIV self-testing. Meanwhile, psychological services or other social services are needed to those experiencing mental distress.

The present study explores the personal narratives of eight gay South African men regarding testing for the human immune-deficiency virus (HIV) which causes AIDS. The narratives are described within a social constructionist perspective. Two tape-recorded conversations were held with each of the participants in this study, all .of whom had never tested HIV positive. The elicited narratives are related to the men's ideas about HIV, AIDS and gay..sexual identity, and are situated in the South African context. In addition, a reflexive approach is used, farina as the narratives are related to the reflections of the research participants, the researcher and the supervisor about the research process. The narratives suggest that the gay men in the study see decision making regarding HIV testing as involving personal choice and individual responsibility. The participants seem well informed of safe-sex precautions necessary to prevent the transmission of HIV. However, in accordance with the research literature, they appear to employ individual heuristics which allow for unsafe sexual practices, usually in the context of long-term relationships. Empirical research is required in order to determine whether or not these findings can be generalized to the general population of gay South African men. The need for safe-sex education to take account of such individual heuristics is emphasized. In addition, it is suggested that gay men may benefit from assertiveness training which empowers them to decline engaging in sexual behavior which puts them at risk of contracting HIV.

The psychometric properties of a revised body image self-consciousness measure were examined using 11 correlate measures, including a measure of general body image, with a sample of male and female participants. A factor analysis of the BISC-R measure revealed one distinct factor, suggesting there are not male-oriented and female-oriented subscales, as hypothesized. Furthermore, results revealed no significant differences in correlations between body image self-consciousness and body image avoidance and the correlate measures, suggesting body image self-consciousness is essentially a construct similar to body image avoidance. Results provide support for future use of a body image avoidance measure as opposed to a body image self-consciousness measure in research as well as clinical settings.

This study investigated the social factors influencing the poor uptake of HIV Testing and Counselling (HCT) services by middle-aged black men in Pimville, Soweto. A qualitative research approach was used for this study in which ten men and two key informants were interviewed. Themes explored were the participants’ biographical characteristics, knowledge of HIV and AIDS, health-seeking behaviours, understanding of multiple sexual partnerships, male circumcision, and challenges in using HCT services. Various social behaviour change theories formed the theoretical framework guiding this study. It was found that fear, stigma and cultural factors are major reasons for the poor HCT uptake. Despite the men’s high HIV risk perceptions, behaviour change lags behind. Greater efforts to establish a men’s forum to discuss sexual health matters in Pimville are recommended.

This study examined the roles of commitment and attributions in uninvolved partner responses to imagined sexual infidelity. Undergraduate students (N = 298) in dating relationships participated in a hypothetical sexual infidelity scenario in which they imagined their romantic partner engaged in sexual intercourse with someone else. Measured-variable path analysis was used to evaluate the predictive ability of commitment and attributions on negative emotional responses and predicted relationship continuation. The hypothesized conceptual model demonstrated poor fit to sample data. Through exploratory model building, an alternative model was generated that demonstrated good fit to sample data. A subset of commitment, investment, predicted negative affect. In addition, attributions predicted predictions of relationship continuation. Negative emotional responses were highly endorsed on a validated measure for emotional responses, the PANAS-X (Watson & Clark, 1994). Further, study findings highlight the importance of the use of a compliance check in assessing successful participant completion of imagined infidelity scenario. Unique study contributions include directions for further conceptual model development for this area of research as well as support for the use of compliance checks and careful selection of infidelity scenario.

Streszczenie:
AIM OF THE THESIS Since Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) is essentially based on increased adiposity and it is associated with male hypogonadism, erectile dysfunction, psychological disturbances, and BPH/LUTS, and all these factors might, in different ways, affect reproductive capacity, we investigated their possible correlations with MetS. Hence, we performed two studies. In the first study (study 1) we evaluated possible associations between MetS, semen and hormonal parameters, as well as clinical characteristics, including sexual, ultrasound and psychological characteristics, in a cohort of men with couple infertility. In the second study (study 2), we systematically investigated the possible associations between MetS and prostate-related symptoms and signs in a cohort of young men in infertile unions and tried to establish whether these associations correlate with fertility. Study 1 conclusions We report that an increasing number of MetS factors are dose-dependently associated with relevant organic (poor sperm quality, hypogonadism, ED) and psychological (depression, somatization) features that might affect reproductive outcomes of men seeking medical care for couple infertility. This might tailor ad hoc therapeutic intervention. Behavioural interventions targeting lifestyle factors, such as dietary practice and physical activity, might ameliorate not only metabolic and psychological parameters but also male infertility, as has been demonstrated for female infertility. Study 2 conclusions This study demonstrates that in a cohort of men with infertility, a component-dependent, stepwise association was observed between an increase in the number of MetS components and the total and transitional zone prostate enlargement and prostate related-inflammatory signs but not symptoms or current infection of the male genital tract, which suggests a sub-clinical inflammation of the prostate. Relative prostate overgrowth may also correlate with MetS-related hyperinsulinaemic state. In addition, MetS but not MetS’s related prostate CDU abnormalities was associated with poor sperm morphology. FINAL CONCLUSIONS In men with couple infertility, MetS is associated with hypogonadism, poor sperm morphology, testis ultrasound inhomogeneity, erectile dysfunction, somatization and depression. In addition, MetS is positively associated with prostate enlargement, biochemical (seminal interleukin 8) and ultrasound-derived signs of prostate inflammation but not with prostate-related symptoms, which suggests that MetS is a trigger for a subclinical, early-onset form of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Recognizing MetS could help patients to improve not only fertility but also sexual and overall health.

Streszczenie:
Abstract The products of popular culture, including pornography and romance, can be viewed as artifacts of human sexual psychology. In other words, popular culture can be examined as data in testing theories about human psychological adaptations in the same way as archaeological artifacts can be used by anthropologists to test hypotheses about human evolution. From a methodological standpoint, there are clear benefits to this approach (as opposed to surveys, for example) in that such unobtrusive measures do not require the cooperation of participants, or their honesty or self-awareness, and it does not influence the participant response. Additionally, media outlets can provide much larger samples reporting actual use. In this chapter, we will examine how the products of popular culture illuminate our understanding of male and female sexual desires with a particular emphasis on the appeal of mythology, pornography, and various forms of romance (from romance novels to Bollywood, erotica, and slash). Not only are there differences and overlap in mass media marketed to men and women but also in the media they create themselves. These differences not only inform researchers regarding what men and women desire, but also where more research needs to be conducted.

Streszczenie:
Psychosocial issues in genomic testing are an emerging area of investigation. As the growth in understanding of the molecular basis of cancer leads to a new way of characterizing cancer, a different therapeutic landscape has developed for both physicians and patients. Two types of genomic testing are currently used in clinical oncology. Molecular tumor profiling (somatic testing) involves testing tumor tissue with the aim of identifying targeted treatment or to guide therapy. Germline genomic sequencing (germline testing) is used to identify increased cancer risk to personalize preventative strategies. In addition to the obvious benefits of the technology, the results of genomic testing can bring challenges. Results can be complex, and the uncertainty they create is potentially a source of significant psychological stress. The growing use of testing for germline variants can generate solicited and unsolicited hereditary genetic (risk) information that could have medical, psychological, financial, and social consequences for patients and their family members and a considerable impact on their quality of life.

In the process of treating patients with for chronic pain with opioid type medications, the use of urine drug screens (UDS) is considered the standard of care. The frequency with which a UDS is obtained varies across different guidelines and states/medical boards. It is often associated with dosage, risk for aberrant drug behavior assessment, and ongoing compliance. Most clinicians will obtain a UDS two to four times per year, unless the circumstances require otherwise. In general, the point-of care UDS lacks the sensitivity and specificity of confirmatory testing. The prescribing clinician should (i) be familiar with various types of testing, (ii) create a relationship the testing lab performing the confirmatory testing, and (iii) acquire basic interpretation skills. Clinical decisions should be postponed pending the results of confirmatory testing. False positives, and false negatives, do occur. It behooves the clinician to have “all their ducks in row” before confronting the patient and to accurately document the consultation and decision-making process. In some instances, discontinuation of therapy may be necessary and appropriate. Other cases may be subject to remediation.

Psychosocial factors influence colorectal cancer (CRC) genetic testing decisions and risk management strategies. Psychosocial research on hereditary CRC has focused on understanding individuals’ motivations and decisions regarding genetic testing, the psychological impact of genetic risk notification, the effects on family and interpersonal relationships, and factors influencing the uptake of risk reduction options (e.g., screening, risk-reducing surgery, or chemoprevention). Overall, the literature on psychosocial aspects of hereditary CRC suggest that despite initial fears, negative psychological impacts of genetic testing are often absent or modest, and adverse impacts, if observed, are short-lived. Due to the shared familial nature of genetic information, patients utilizing CRC genetic testing also experience novel psychosocial challenges in terms of family communication and childbearing. Positive psychosocial benefits such as relief from uncertainty and satisfaction of curiosity have been less frequently examined. Psychosocial outcomes vary across types of genetic testing, test results, gene penetrance and associated cancer risks, and various clinical and personal factors. For example, the psychosocial outcomes in response to an uncertain test result from a moderate-penetrance CRC-related gene may be different from a negative test result in a high-penetrance gene. This suggests that generalizing psychosocial outcomes from the various areas of scholarship may be unwise. Psychosocial aspects of genetic testing deserve attention by researchers and clinicians to design and deliver tailored genetic and psychological counseling support services geared to the ongoing needs of patients and their relatives who face genetic risk for colorectal cancer.

ABSTRACT A number of methods for mental training have been developed and approved in sports practice - progressive muscle relaxation, autogenic training, visualization, mental imagery, and different forms of meditation. In order to be mastered and efficiently used, however, they should be applied continuously and repeatedly. In recent years, the efforts of mental training specialists have been aimed at developing and implementing machine instrumentation methods, which prove to have more powerful effects and accelerate the processes of mental training. The basis of these methods is biofeedback. The aim of this study is to research the impact of cognitive training through machine instrumentation methods on significant for sports performance psychological factors. We used: Thoughtstream Stand-Alone System – a personal biofeedback training system, and Procyon Light and Sound Mind Machine - Full Spectrum Audio-Visual Synthesizer. The research was done among three groups (66 sambo athletes, 49 men, 17 women) with a mean age of 19,2 years (±4.2). Different machine instrumentation methods were applied to the two experimental groups. The first group undertook 10 sessions of a mixed program of 15-minute duration with Procyon Light and Sound Mind Machine. The second group undertook 8 mental training sessions with The Thought Stream Personal Biofeedback System. The third group used autogenous training as a relaxation method. Two measurements were made to evaluate the experiment results – before and after the impact. The indexes of sensorimotor coordination, time-movement anticipation, reaction test, and risk choice behavior were measured. The measurements were made with the help of the Vienna test system. The comparative analysis (Wilcoxon) establishes significant differences between the first and second testing in the two experimental groups regarding sensorimotor coordination, time anticipation, reaction test, and risk choice behavior. The obtained results from the research show that the apparatus methods for mental training are more efficient than the traditional ones, such as the autogenic training applied in the control group.

Most research about simulator adaptation focus on driving style and participants' comfort. However, in recent years, there is a growing interest in physiological data analysis as part of the user experience (UX) assessment. Furthermore, the application of machine learning (ML) techniques to those data may allow the automatic detection of stress and cognitive load. Previously, we noticed that new participants in experiments with our simulator were often in a constant state of tension. This prevented optimal training of our ML models as many of the collected data were not representative of a person's normal state. Our work focuses on improving driver's UX by keeping the cognitive load and stress at levels that do not interfere with the primary task of driving. We use a custom-made driving simulator as our testing platform and evaluate participants' emotional state with physiological signals, specifically electrodermal activity (EDA). EDA is the variation of the skin conductance created by sweat glands. It is linked to the sympathetic nervous system and is an indication of physiological and psychological arousal. We selected EDA because several studies have shown that it is a fast indicator of stress and cognitive load.To ensure that we are consistently collecting accurate data that could be fed to ML algorithms, we need to be able to correlate physiological reactions to external stimuli. We want to avoid them to be confused with general tension. Therefore, we need to determine the time it takes for most participants to physiologically adapt to our simulator. In this between-subjects study, we examined the impact of short time (ca. 10 min) exposures to the simulation and compared it with a longer exposure period (ca. 35 min).Another problem we faced was that some participants were too indisposed by driving in the simulator to complete testing sessions. Therefore, we needed to find a way to discriminate them during the recruitment process. Literature has shown that there might be a link between motion sickness and simulator sickness and in this study, we searched for a correlation between the motion sickness susceptibility questionnaire (MSSQ) and the self-reported simulator sickness using the simulator sickness questionnaire (SSQ).For our investigation, we recruited 22 people through an agency. They were divided in two groups. Group A (short-time exposures) had 10 participants between 25 and 69 years old (M=49.5; SD=17.1, 5 women, 5 men) and group B (long-time exposure) had 12 people between 28 and 65 years old (M=43; SD=12.8, 5 women, 7 men). We requested from the agency to recruit only active drivers of automatic transmissions cars as our simulator mimics this type of vehicle.Motion sickness susceptibility and discomfort felt in the simulator are moderately correlated. The coefficient value is 0.51. The number of participants of our study being small, further research is necessary to determine if the MSSQ can be used as a discriminator in the recruitment phase. In addition, we can conclude that a longer exposure of 35 min results overall in better physiological adaptation.

"The idea of Internet use as a way to face psychosocial malaise is growing in the scientific literature about Problematic Internet Use (PIU). The present study, assuming the Semiotic Cultural Psycho-social Theory (SCPT) (Salvatore, 2018) as theoretical framework, postulates and emphasizes that the context in which the subject is embedded provide the symbolic resources, which ground the way adolescents perceive, experience, and therefore deal with the material and social world, including the likelihood of using the Internet as a way to facing life problems and difficulties. SCTP adopts the term “Symbolic Universes” (SU) to denote affect-laden assumptions concerning the world which may (or not) promote adaptive responses. Specifically, the present study aimed to test a mediation model in which each Symbolic Universes (i.e. independent variable) is associated with the psychosocial malaise in terms of social anxiety, loneliness, and negative emotions (i.e. mediator variable), which in turn has effects on PIU (i.e. dependent variable). Measures of PIU (GPIUS), symbolic universes (VOC), negative affect (PANAS), social anxiety (IAS), loneliness (ILs) among a total of 764 Southern Italy youths aged from 13 to 19 (mean age =15.05 ± 1.152). A Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) was firstly run to detect SU; a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was then performed on R for testing the hypothesized mediation model. The results demonstrated that Symbolic Universes characterized by anomie and unreliability of the social context are associated with adolescents’ PIU though the mediation of social anxiety, loneliness, and negative emotions. Overall, findings suggest that within an anomic and unreliable scenario, PIU might acquire the meaning of a way to face life in an environment that seems meaningless, uncertain, and detrimental. On the plane of intervention, this points to the need for programs that address social and cultural influences in youths’ Internet use."

"Background: Research has highlighted both fatigue and anxiety to be two of the most debilitating symptoms of breast cancer that prevail for years into its survivorship, and suggests that these symptoms influence how people interpret information. Harbouring negative interpretation biases also helps to maintain self-destructive beliefs resulting in increased severity of symptoms and disability in those already affected by the illness. This study is the first utilizing an experimental measure of assessing interpretation bias in a population of breast cancer to investigate the contribution of fatigue and anxiety. Method: A cross-sectional study design was used. 53 breast cancer survivors and 62 female healthy controls were recruited via opportunistic sampling. Participants completed an online questionnaire assessing basic demographics, fatigue via the Chalder Fatigue Questionnaire (CFQ) and anxiety using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Following this, an in-person testing session assessed interpretation bias (IB) using a computerised task. Results: Independent sample t-tests found a non-significant result in the comparison of IB indices between populations (t(112.60) =.28, p=.783; d=.05). Significant differences were observed in mean fatigue and anxiety scores in the breast cancer population compared to the healthy controls. Pearson correlation identified a statistically significant positive correlation between CFQ scores and negative interpretation bias (r=.34, n=53, p=.013), however not for anxiety. Hierarchical multiple regression was calculated to predict negative interpretation biases based on potential confounding variables (age, relationship status and level of education), CFQ, HADS anxiety scores (separately). All four regression models were non-significant. The only significant predictor of negative interpretation bias was fatigue (ß =.39, t(53)=2.71, p=.009). Conclusion: The identified significant correlation between fatigue and negative interpretation bias in this study corroborates findings from existing literature. However other results proved inconsistent with the vast body of research suggesting that breast cancer survivors would make more negative interpretations of ambiguous stimuli on an IB task compared to healthy controls. These results highlight the potential for future research investigating strategies of inherent self-adaptive and coping mechanisms that are or could be adopted by these participants to overcome this cognitive bias."

The aims of this study are: to modify dysfunctional negative emotions during competition, by using mental training techniques. Improving behavior of athletes is possible by reducing stress and anxiety. Problem Statement: first testing took place during 05-06.02.2015, subjects aged between 12 ± 6 and 17 ± years, consisting of 15 athletes both in group I and the group II, mean age of 15.05 for subjects in group I and 15.49 for subjects in group II. Second testing took place in February 2016, same period. Purpose of Study: the experimental series comprised 20 skiers, from the club CSS Vatra - Dornei (SV) - control group and CSS Baia - Sprie (MM) - experimental group. General aims in conducting the research were to develop a strategy that can reduce stress and anxiety during competition. We worked with athletes that had to learn relaxation techniques, mental and physical. To determine mental training, we have applied specific techniques, that influence certain psychological factors to optimize performance in biathlon skiing. Methods: we used a device EmWave2, which is a biofeedback. It gives us information about physiological indicators such as heart rate. EmWave technology is based on the discovery of consistency. Coherence is a state of synchronization between the heart, brain and autonomic nervous system. By practicing condition of consistency throughout the body it can relieve stress, can heal emotional trauma, exaggerated worry and fear, and as it is practiced, there is an improvement in increasingly greater overall health. Findings and Results: using this tool we succeed in improving the general health of the athletes, we’ve optimized the performance capability by increasing the speed of learning and the power of concentration, achieving a higher level of emotional balance. To test the normal distribution the Shapiro-Wilk test was used. For data with normal distribution we have used the t test (Student) and to calculate uneven distribution or nonparametric ranks we used, Mann-Whitney (U) test for two unpaired samples or Wilcoxon for two pairs samples. For the analysis of three or more samples ANOVA test was used for normally distributed data or the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test, in the case of an uneven distribution of values or rank. Statistical analysis values of EmWave2 test, considering the three levels of consistency was observed: in group I - statistically highly significant differences between at least two levels (p <0.01). In group II - intense statistically significant differences between at least two levels (p <0.001). In experimental group we have observed- statistically highly significant differences between the levels of LH, MH (p <0.01) and in control group - statistically highly significant differences between the levels of LH, MH (p <0.01). Conclusions and Recommendations: The comparative analysis of test scores applied to the studied groups and statistical significance we can say that by applying mental training it leads to lower anxiety technique issues. In statistical analysis of the EmWave2 test were not observed statistically significant differences between the two groups (p> 0.05). Concerning mean heart rate (FC average) recorded by EmWave2 test, statistical intensely significant differences were observed between the two groups (p <0.001). The statistical analysis of time values by using EmWave2 test, were highly significant, between the two groups (p <0.01).

Streszczenie:
The article clarifies of gender identity stereotypes in modern media. The main gender stereotypes covered in modern mass media are analyzed and refuted. The model of gender relations in the media is reflected mainly in the stereotypical images of men and woman. The features of the use of gender concepts in modern periodicals for women and men were determined. The most frequently used derivatives of these macroconcepts were identified and analyzed in detail. It has been found that publications for women and men are full of various gender concepts that are used in different contexts. Ingeneral, theanalysisofthe concept-maximums and concept-minimum gender and their characteristics is carried out in the context of gender stereotypes that have been forme dand function in the society, system atizing the a ctual presentations. The study of the gender concept is relevant because it reveals new trends and features of modern gender images. Taking into account the special features of gender-labeled periodicals in general and the practical absence of comprehensive scientific studies of the gender concept in particular, there is a need to supplement Ukrainian science with this topic. Gender psychology, which is served by methods of various sciences, primarily sociological, pedagogical, linguistic, psychological, socio-psychological. Let us pay attention to linguistic and psycholinguistic methods in gender studies. Linguistic methods complement intelligence research tasks, associated with speech, word and text. Psycholinguistic methods used in gender psychology (semantic differential, semantic integral, semantic analysis of words and texts), aimed at studying speech messages, specific mechanisms of origin and perception, functions of speech activity in society, studying the relationship between speech messages and gender properties participants in the communication, to analyze the linguistic development in connection with the general development of the individual. Nowhere in gender practice there is the whole arsenal of psychological methods that allow you to explore psychological peculiarities of a person like observation, experiments, questionnaires, interviews, testing, modeling, etc. The methods of psychological self-diagnostics include: the gender aspect of the own socio-psychological portrait, a gender biography as a variant of the biographical method, aimed at the reconstruction of individual social experience. In the process of writing a gender autobiography, a person can understand the characteristics of his gender identity, as well as ways and means of their formation. Socio-psychological methods of studying gender include the study of socially constructed women’s and men’s roles, relationships and identities, sexual characteristics, psychological characteristics, etc. The use of gender indicators and gender approaches as a means of socio-psychological and sociological analysis broadens the subject boundaries of these disciplines and makes them the subject of study within these disciplines. And also, in the article a combination of concrete-historical, structural-typological, system-functional methods is implemented. Descriptive and comparative methods, method of typology, modeling are used. Also used is a method of content analysis for the study of gender content of modern gender-stamped journals. It was he who allowed quantitatively to identify and explore the features of the gender concept in the pages of periodicals for women and men. A combination of historical, structural-typological, system-functional methods is also implemented in the article. Descriptive and comparative methods, method of typology, modeling are used. A method of content analysis for the study of gender content of modern gender-labeled journals is also used. It allowed to identify and explore the features of the gender concept quantitatively in the periodicals for women and men. The conceptual perception and interpretation of the gender concept «woman», which is highlighted in the modern gender-labeled press in Ukraine, requires the elaboration of the polyfunctionality of gender interpretations, the comprehension of the metaphorical perception of this image and its role and purpose in society. A gendered approach to researching the gender content of contemporary periodicals for women and men. Conceptual analysis of contemporary gender-stamped publications within the gender conceptual sphere allows to identify and correlate the meta-gender and gender concepts that appear in society.
