Abstrak : Teknologi Soft Computing telah membantu banyak peneliti dalam mengembangkan sebuah penelitiannya. Contohnya adalah pengembangan model prediksi beban listrik harian non linier berbasis kecerdasan buatan yang menggunakan algoritma Backporpagation dan algoritma Kohonen Map. Kode computer yang dikembangkan menggunakan software Matlab R2008b dari Mathwork Corp. Dapat dilihat dari hasil perhitungan bahwa keakuratan model Backpropagation 99,83 % sedangkan model Kohonen Map hanya 97,53 %. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model prediksi menggunakan algoritma Backpropagation lebih baik tingkat akurasinya dibandingkan dengan model prediksi menggunakan metoda Kohonen Map.

Analytical models have been developed to diminish test procedures for product realization, but they have only been partially successful in predicting the performance of battery systems consistently. The complex set of interacting physical and chemical processes within battery systems has made the development of analytical models of significant challenge. Advanced simulation tools are needed to be more accurately model battery systems which will reduce the time and cost required for product realization. As an alternative approach begun, the development of cell performance modeling using non-phenomenological models for battery systems were based on artificial neural networks (ANN) using Matlab 7.6.0(R2008b). ANN has been shown to provide a very robust and computationally efficient simulation tool for predicting state of charge for Lead Acid cells under a variety of operating conditions. In this study, the analytical model and the neural network model of lead acid battery for electric vehicle were used to determinate the battery state of charge. A precision comparison between the analytical model and the neural network model has been evaluated. The precise of the neural network model has error less than 0.00045 percent.

Non-invasive measurement method has made rapid developments in the field of biomedical engineering. One of research is impedance cardiography (ICG), which provide information of pulsation basic. By knowing this kind of measurement technique, it will assist inspection of the patient's physiological condition with cardiovascular system. This research is aimed to determine the mechanical characteristics of the cardiovascular system in the human body such as a wave graph of pressure, flow, and volume, based on pressure–flow model in rest condition, and analyze the simulation results by implementing state of the physiology cardiovascular disease. To obtain the wave chart that is modeled by the cardiovascular system using a lumped parameter method, formulate the differential equations of the pressure–flow dynamics equation for an incompressible fluid in a segment of a cylindrical elastic tube and simulate the model using the Simulink toolboxes from Matlab R2008b. The simulation with lumped parameter method resulted wave graphics of pressure, flow, and volume of physiological state a person in rest condition, the left ventricular pressure is 120 mmHg , right ventricular pressure is 30 mmHg , left ventricular outflow is 800 mL / sec and volume in the left ventricle is 160 mL . By implementing the simulation have been developed on the physiological state of cardiovascular disease, hypertension occurs when the arteries resistance R3i = 0.61 mmHg × s mL with the pressure of the left ventricle is 145 mmHg. For coronary heart condition, ventricular pressure decreased until 82 mmHg in the value of the coronary arteries resistance is R3o = 0.852 mmHg × s mL. This research assumed heart haves the character of passive because there is no feedback signal that can compensate if the pressure in the systemic circulation is reduced. The research can be concluded that the graph from simulation shows the results are not much different from the reference chart, this results indicates that the equation and the simulation was able to reflect on the human circulatory physiological circumstances. A little different of a graphic simulation result due to differences in the parameters and assumptions used.

Abstract In this paper, a numerical matrix method, which is based on collocation points, is presented for the approximate solution of a system of high-order linear differential-difference equations with variable coefficients under the mixed conditions in terms of Bessel polynomials. Numerical examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique and comparisons are made with existing results. The results show the efficiency and accuracy of the present work. All of the numerical computations have been performed on computer using a program written in MATLAB v7.6.0 (R2008a).

In order to improve the generality and real-time of image matching procedure, Visual Studio 2010 and MATLAB R2009a have been used as the platform to research mixed programming and improved SIFT algorithm. In this method, the advantages of C # and Matlab have been combined to reduce the difficulty of programming and to improve programming efficiency. The results show that, improved SIFT algorithm can greatly improve real-time of matching program while guaranteeing good matching rate, its suitable in real-time applications.

Las relaciones sociales son de vital importancia para el correcto desarrollo de los seres humanos, y junto con la actividad física, la obesidad y la autoestima forman un conjunto de factores que pueden ser capaces de retroalimentarse entre sí, pero que hasta donde los autores saben, solo se han analizado por separado. Por tanto, el principal objetivo de estudio será realizar un análisis multifactorial que incluya todas las variables anteriormente mencionadas. Un total de 60 niños de edades comprendidas entre los 7 y los 13 años formaron la muestra de este estudio. Los instrumentos utilizados para las mediciones de las diferentes variables de estudio fueron el PAQ-C, la escala de autoestima de Rosenberg y una adaptación del Bull-S Test. Una vez recogidos todos los datos se realizó un análisis con Self-Organizing Maps mediante el software Matlab R2008a y la SOM toolbox para Matlab. Los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo muestran la repercusión del Índice de Masa Corporal sobre los niveles de autoestima y las relaciones sociales, y la posible retroalimentación mutua entre estos dos últimos factores.Abstract. Social relationships are vital for the proper development of humans, and along with physical activity, obesity, and self-esteem, they form a set of factors that may be able to feed each other; however, as far as the authors know, they have only been analyzed separately. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to carry out a multifactorial analysis that includes all the aforementioned variables. A total of 60 children between 7 and 13 years of age formed the sample of this study. The instruments used for the measurements of the different study variables were the PAQ-C, the Rosenberg self-esteem scale, and an adaptation of the Bull-S Test. Once all the data was collected, an analysis with Self-Organizing Maps was made, using the Matlab R2008a software and the SOM toolbox for Matlab. The results obtained in this work show the repercussion of Body Mass Index on the levels of self-esteem and social relations, and the possible mutual feedback between the last two factors.

This study aims to test the performance of fuzzy logic in the gasification process. Gasification is the process of converting solids into flammable gases. The gas produced becomes an alternative energy source, namely the Waste Power Plant (PLTSa). The research applies Mamdani's Fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic was created using Matlab R2018b software. The results obtained indicate that the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) output of H2 on fuzzy logic training data is 6.57. The test results for CO fuzzy output MAE value of 1.12. The test results on CO2 MAE fuzzy are 1.18. In the CH4 test, the MAE fuzzy output is 0,84.

This article investigates identification of aircraft aerodynamic derivatives. The identification is performed on the basis of the parameters stored by Flight Data Recorder. The problem is solved in time domain by Quad-M Method. Aircraft dynamics is described by a parametric model that is defined in Body-Fixed-Coordinate System. Identification of the aerodynamic derivatives is obtained by Maximum Likelihood Estimation. For finding cost function minimum, Lavenberg-Marquardt Algorithm is used. Additional effects due to process noise are included in the state-space representation. The impact of initial values on the solution is discussed. The presented method was implemented in Matlab R2009b environment.

Abstract This article investigates unstable tiltrotor in hover system identification from flight test data. The aircraft dynamics was described by a linear model defined in Body-Fixed-Coordinate System. Output Error Method was selected in order to obtain stability and control derivatives in lateral motion. For estimating model parameters both time and frequency domain formulations were applied. To improve the system identification performed in the time domain, a stabilization matrix was included for evaluating the states. In the end, estimates obtained from various Output Error Method formulations were compared in terms of parameters accuracy and time histories. Evaluations were performed in MATLAB R2009b environment.

Abstract An aqueducts are a water source (the channel that a flowing body of water follows) designed to transport water from a specified point to a point where the designer aims to distribute the water within it. To enhance the hydraulic properties of pipe aqueducts, a workable, efficacious, and convenient method for the optimal design of an aqueduct has been determined in this research article to study the optimum design of pipe aqueduct (finding optimum diameter) and study the effect of design parameters on safe span length by MATLAB Software R2017b and Newton–Raphson method and check the effects of the parameters of design such as the span length (L), discharge (Q), overhead loss (H), inlet and outlet coefficient ( K K 1 & K K 2), etc. Also, this article studies the safe span (L) depending on the optimum value of pipe diameter.

The level of reliability of a distribution system is very important to ensure the continuity of electricity supply to consumers. This research was conducted to calculate the Saidi reliability index and the Saifi 20 kV distribution system in Pinang PLN in 2017 with the help of the Matlab R2008a application. A GUI is one of the Matlab programs that is widely used in describing information and commands, and its users are possible to form and format themselves according to the needs of the system itself. With the help of this software, it is hoped that it will be easier to calculate the system reliability index, namely the calculation of SAIDI and SAIFI, then the results can be made so that the database is more organized. The calculation results obtained will show the highest and lowest SAIDI and SAIFI values ​​that occur in each of the current months, making it easier to evaluate, analyze and improve the reliability of the electrical power system network in the future, especially in PT.

Evaluasi penilaian siswa terhadap penerimaan materi ajar KKPI masih menggunakan sistem manual hingga memakan waktu yang lama dan dapat berdampak pada hasil yang kurang akurat. Untuk itu perlu di buat model penilaian siswa terhadap penerimaan materi ajar KKPI berbasis komputer (soft computing) menggunakan program Matlab 7.9.0.529 (R2009b) dengan menggunakan metode Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) Mamdani. Hasil yang dicapai adalah diperoleh aplikasi penilaian siswa terhadap penerimaan materi ajar KKPI dalam format Graphical User Interface (GUI) yang memudahkan proses penilaian dengan waktu yang lebih efisien.

This paper deals with a mathematical model that represents non-Newtonian bile flow through a calculus duct under the influence of heat transfer with wall slip conditions. The peristaltic flow of bile is characterized by a generalized Carreau's model. An ordinate transformation is initiated to map the cosine geometry of the stone into a rectangular grid. It allows evaluation velocity, pressure distribution, flow rate, and reflux occurrence conditions, adopting the perturbation technique, the analytical solution obtained under various parameters, such as Knudsen number, amplitude ratio, Grashof number, Weissenberg number, and power index. These mathematical expressions are analyzed by plotting the graph in MATLAB R2018b software and observed that the axial velocity and the pressure gradient are strongly affected by heat and wall slip parameters.

In this paper, a novel numerical method has been outlined for finding a novel solution to nonlinear Volterra integral (NLVI) equation of second type, besides, two kernel type of this equation. Touchard polynomials (TPs) and to different degrees were used for this purpose. The function of approximation was obtained to derive the technique for solving this type of integral equations. Three numerical examples were provided to demonstrate the importance of the method used and the accuracy of the extracted results. In some examples, the results were compared with those of another method. The MATLAB R2018b program was used to carry out all calculations and generate all graphics. Two Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation techniques (PAM-2) is failing to cope with the increase in appetite for data and higher data rate with respect to noisy channel. Hence, Four Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation techniques (PAM-4) was developed. PAM-4 is said to enable two times the data rate as compared to PAM-2. PAM-4 has its pros and cons as compared with PAM-2. This paper compares the performance of Two Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation technique to Four Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation technique. The communication system was modeled using Simulink R2016b, the signal passed through an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) Channel and eye diagram scope was adopted to evaluate the corresponding signal. The study compared eye diagram to evaluate both PAM-2 and PAM-4 at same channel condition. Bit error rate (BER) analysis of the two signals were studied and the results for the corresponding signals were compared. It was observed that the performance of PAM-2 surpasses PAM-4 in terms of the bit error rate analysis. The study shows similar characteristic for Symbol Error Rate Probability curve. The result revealed that PAM-4 is more susceptible to noise than PAM-2.

Two Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation techniques (PAM-2) is failing to cope with the increase in appetite for data and higher data rate with respect to noisy channel. Hence, Four Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation techniques (PAM-4) was developed. PAM-4 is said to enable two times the data rate as compared to PAM-2. PAM-4 has its pros and cons as compared with PAM-2. This paper compares the performance of Two Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation technique to Four Levels Pulse Amplitude Modulation technique. The communication system was modeled using Simulink R2016b, the signal passed through an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) Channel and eye diagram scope was adopted to evaluate the corresponding signal. The study compared eye diagram to evaluate both PAM-2 and PAM-4 at same channel condition. Bit error rate (BER) analysis of the two signals were studied and the results for the corresponding signals were compared. It was observed that the performance of PAM-2 surpasses PAM-4 in terms of the bit error rate analysis. The study shows similar characteristic for Symbol Error Rate Probability curve. The result revealed that PAM-4 is more susceptible to noise than PAM-2.

Highest mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD) in 2019: 17.9 million people died worldwide, accounting for 32% of all deaths, 85% of which were due to heart attack and stroke. In Indonesia, 651,481 people die from cardiovascular disease each year, including 331,349 from stroke, 245,343 from coronary heart disease, and 50,620 from hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. Disturbance of changes in heart rhythm is a condition when the heart's electrical activity is irregular, it can be faster or slower than usual. This disorder is closely related to cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and coronary artery disease. Changes in heart rhythm are usually not dangerous, but if the heartbeat starts to feel abnormal, it can be fatal and cause sudden death. Changes in heart rhythm can be detected using an electrocardiogram, often called an EKG. The function of the EKG is to record information about the state of the heart using electrodes attached to the body. An EKG examination usually has to be done in a hospital to find out the disease the patient is suffering from. This study implements an ECG signal real-time monitoring and processing system using AD8232 sensor module and will display the resulting ECG signal in MATLAB software. This test will be monitored using Simulink MATLAB on the MATLAB R2022b software. Testing the ECG signal studied there were two activities, namely normal activity and after exercising for five minutes. The test was carried out in a sitting position using a 21 years old woman. The results obtained from the system are made using the AD8232 sensor module has been successfully implemented using R peak detection to generate real-time heart rate. It was found that the heart rate varies between 85 to 90 beats per minute during normal activity. Meanwhile, the heart rate after five minutes of exercise reaches 107 to 111 beats per minute. From this heartbeat, we can assume that the heart is functioning normally.

Aim: The study aims to identify or recognize the alphabets using neural networks and fuzzy classifier/logic. Methods and materials: Neural network and fuzzy classifier are used for comparing the recognition of characters. For each classifier sample size is 20. Character recognition was developed using MATLAB R2018a, a software tool. The algorithm is again compared with the Fuzzy classifier to know the accuracy level. Results: Performance of both fuzzy classifier and neural networks are calculated by the accuracy value. The mean value of the fuzzy classifier is 82 and the neural network is 77. The recognition rate (accuracy) with the data features is found to be 98.06%. Fuzzy classifier shows higher significant value of P=0.002 < P=0.005 than the neural networks in recognition of characters. Conclusion: The independent tests for this study shows a higher accuracy level of alphabetical character recognition for Fuzzy classifier when compared with neural networks. Henceforth, the fuzzy classifier shows higher significant than the neural networks in recognition of characters.

Textile yarns are the fundamental building blocks in the fabric industry. The measurement of the diameter of the yarn textile and fibers is crucial in textile engineering as the diameter size and distribution can affect the yarn’s properties, and image processing can provide automatic techniques for faster and more accurate determination of the diameters. In this paper, facile and new methods to measure the yarn’s diameter and its individual fibers diameter based on image processing algorithms that can be applied to microscopic digital images. Image preprocessing such as binarization and morphological operations on the yarn image were used to measure the diameter automatically and accurately compared to the manual measuring using ImageJ software. In addition to the image preprocessing, the circular Hough transform was used to measure the diameter of the individual fibers in a yarn’s cross-section and count the number of fibers. The algorithms were built and deployed in a MATLAB (R2020b, The MathWorks, Inc., Natick, Massachusetts, United States) environment. The proposed methods showed a reliable, fast, and accurate measurement compared to other different image measuring softwares, such as ImageJ.

Total elektron contant in ionosphere is affected by several fastors, local time, solar aktivities, geomagnetic disturbance, geographical latitude and longitude. This researh aims to observase level variation of total electron contant during solar eclipse over Indonesia on 9 March 2016. We analyzed GPS data from two GPS stations in different locations with different sun observation geographical latitude and longitude, the locations were Sulawesi station (CAMP) and Maluku station (CAMB). The method used in this research, was data interpretation method computationally, the whole data analyzed using matlab software R2008a. The values of daily TEC range from 20 TECU till 30 TECU. Although the value of TEC when solar total eclipse range from 10n TECU untill 20 TECU. The percentage of decreasing value of TEC when total solar eclipse than the daily value of TEC. Decreasing of TEC value between 20%-40%.

The robots pay important role in all parts of our life. Hence, the modeling of the robot is essential to develop the performance specification. Robot model of six degree of freedom (6DoF) manipulator implemented numerically using model-based technique. The kinematic analysis and simulation were studied with Inverse kinematics of the robot manipulator through Denevit and Hartenberg method. Matrix transformation method is used in this work in order to separate joint variables from kinematic equations. The finding of the desired configuration is obtained precisely in all motion trajectory along the end-effector path. MATLAB/SIMULINK with R2018b is used for the implementation of the model-based robot system. Simulation results showed that the robot rinks follow their references smoothly and precisely and ensure the effectiveness of direct kinematic algorithm in the analysis and control of the robotic field.

According to the current optimization problem of electric vehicle charging path planning, a charging path optimization strategy for electric vehicles is proposed, which is under the “traffic-price-distribution” mode. Moreover, this strategy builds an electric vehicle charging and navigation system on the basis of the road traffic network model, real-time electricity price model and distribution network model. Based on the Dijkstra shortest path algorithm and Monte Carlo time-space prediction method, it gets the optimal charging path navigation with the goal of minimizing the charging cost of electric vehicles. The simulation results in MATLAB and MATPOWER (MATLAB R2018a, MATPOWER3.1b2, PSERC, Cannell University) show that the electric vehicle charging path optimization strategy can solve the local traffic congestion problem better and improve the safety and stability of the distribution network because of the fully considering the convenience of electric vehicle charging.

Peserta dari kegiatan ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa teknik di Indonesia. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai rancang bangun sistem kelistrikan mobil hemat energi yang telah sesuai regulasi KMHE 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah melalui simulasi Simulink MATLAB dengan menggunakan sistem kontrol Proportional Integral Derivative (PID). Hasil simulasi dengan program Simulink MATLAB R2020b menunjukkan bahwa motor BLDC dengan kecepatan putar 100-900 rpm menghasilkan torsi motor sebesar 30 Nm dan memiliki daya sekitar 960 W. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa motor BLDC telah melebihi kebutuhan perancangan mobil listrik. Kata Kunci: KMHE, motor BLDC, ramah lingkungan, sistem kelistrikan, torsi motor.

Digital radiography incresingly is being applied in the fabrication industry. Compared to film- based radiography, digitally radiographed images can be acquired with less time and fewer exposures. However, noises can simply occur on the digital image resulting in a low-quality result. Due to this and the system’s complexity, parameters’ sensitivity, and environmental effects, the results can be difficult to interpret, even for a radiographer. Therefore, the need of an application tool to improve and evaluate the image is becoming urgent. In this research, a user-friendly tool for image processing and image quality measurement was developed. The resulting tool contains important components needed by radiograph inspectors in analyzing defects and recording the results. This tool was written by using image processing and the graphical user interface development environment and compiler (GUIDE) toolbox available in Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) R2008a. In image processing methods, contrast adjustment, and noise removal, edge detection was applied. In image quality measurement methods, mean square error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), modulation transfer function (MTF), normalized signal-to-noise ratio (SNRnorm), sensitivity and unsharpness were used to measure the image quality. The graphical user interface (GUI) wass then compiled to build a Windows, stand-alone application that enables this tool to be executed independently without the installation of MATLAB.

One of the supporters in creating an even educational climate is the existence of scholarships. In general, scholarships in the form of financial assistance intended for the community of higher education, both lecturers, teachers, students and students. In the awarding of scholarships, some findings were obtained, including not being on target which caused the scholarship assistance to be ineffective. One solution in determining the acceptance of scholarships is the existence of a system that is integrated with decision-making methods. Fuzzy logic mamdani becomes one of the recommendation methods that can be implemented in decision making. So the formulation of the problem of this research is (1) How is the implementation of fuzzy logic mamdani methods to the decision-making system of receiving aid scholarships?; (2) How effective fuzzy logic methods mamdani to the decision-making system of aid scholarship. The scope of the research is (1) The method of inference with Fuzzy Logic Mamdani; (2) The tools used are Matlab version R2021b; (3) The input variable criteria consist of parental income, achievement (academic and non-academic) and average grades throughout the semester; (4) The variable output criterion is the amount of the scholarship. The final results of the study resulted in the calculation of the effectiveness of the Fuzzy Mamdanil Method of more than 50%, so that the fuzzy mamdani method can be recommended as an alternative in the decision-making method determining the amount of acceptance of aid scholarships.

This article describes the experimental studies of a preloaded asymmetric multi-bolted connection in the exploitation state. The construction of two stands were introduced: for bolt calibration and for evaluating the bolt forces in a multi-bolted connection. The bolts were tightened in a specific optimal sequence, in three passes, monitoring the force values in the bolts using a calibrated strain gauge measuring system. The studies were conducted for the selected multi-bolted connection on an Instron 8850 testing machine. The measurement data were saved in MATLAB R2018b Simulink. The measurement results were analysed statistically and are presented via charts showing the distributions of the normalised values of the bolt forces as a function of the linearly increasing and decreasing exploitation loads. We show that the forces in individual bolts, after unloading the multi-bolted connection, change in relation to the initial values of their preload.

In this paper, we suggest two new methods for approximating the solution to the Volterra integro-fractional differential equation (VIFDEs), based on the normal quadratic spline function and the second method used the Richardson Extrapolation technique the usage of discrete collocation points. The fractional derivatives are regarded in the Caputo perception. A new theorem for the Richardson Extrapolation points for using the finite difference approximation of Caputo derivative is introduced with their proof. New techniques using the first derivative at the initial point such that obtained by follow two cases the first using trapezoidal rule and the second using the first step of linear spline function using the Richardson Extrapolation method. Specifically, the program is given in examples analysis in Matlab (R2018b). Numerical examples are available to illuminate the productivity and trustworthiness of the methods, as well as, follow the Clenshaw Curtis rule for calculating the required integrals for those equations.

This paper deals with a reduced switch multi-level inverter for the solar photovoltaic system-based 127-level multi-level inverter. The proposed technique uses the minimum number of switches to achieve the maximum steps in staircase AC output voltage when compared to the flying capacitor multi-level inverter, cascaded type multilevel inverter and diode clamped multi-level inverter. The use of a minimum number of switches decreases the cost of the system. To eliminate the switching losses, in this topology a square wave switch is used instead of pulse width modulation. Thereby the total harmonic distortion (THD) and harmonics have been reduced in the pulsating AC output voltage waveform. The performance of 127-level MLI is compared with 15 level, 31-level and 63-level multilevel inverters. The outcomes of the solar photovoltaic system-based 127-level multi-level inverter have been simulated in a MATLAB R2009b environment.

Finding an optimal sequence in terms of total completion time for processing ‘n’ jobs in ‘m’ processing centers in the shop floor is an important job for a shop floor supervisor. The problem is NP hard as the total number of sequences is (n!) for a permutation flow shop scheduling problem. Starting from Johnson’s Algorithm, many classical Heuristics were proposed in earlier days. After the invention of evolutionary algorithms and Meta Heuristics, finding an optimal sequence becomes comparatively easier. This paper deals with improving one such performance parameter, the make span, in a Permutation Flow Shop Scheduling problem in case of job idle times (though machines are available, jobs are not) observed in between two machines. The case of three machines, n jobs has been analyzed using the well known Taillard bench mark problems by coding in MATLAB R2008a and a new procedure has been proposed.

Image fusion has gained huge popularity in the field of medical and satellite imaging for image analysis. The lack of usages of image fusion is due to a deficiency of suitable optimization techniques and dedicated hardware. In recent days WOA (whale optimization algorithm) is gaining popularity. Like another straightforward nature-inspired algorithm, WOA has some problems in its searching process. In this paper, we have tried to improve the WOA algorithm by modifying the WOA algorithm. This MWOA (modified whale optimization algorithm) algorithm is amalgamed with LSA (local search algorithm) and BA (bat algorithm). The LSA algorithm helps the system to be faster, and BA algorithm helps to increase the accuracy of the system. This optimization algorithm is checked using MATLAB R2018b. Simulated using ModelSim, and the synthesizing is done using Xilinx Vivado 18.2 synthesis tool. The outcome of the simulation result and the synthesis result outshine other metaheuristic optimization algorithms.

In this paper, design and realization of FIR filter with a bandwidth of 40 MHz at 50-90 MHz frequency has been proposed. The design was destined to be implemented on the Inter Satellite Links (ISL). This kind of filter had been selected due to a need in linear phase responseon the ISL data communication. Equiripple method was used to design the filter becauseof its reliability in minimizing the magnitude errors. The design of this FIR filter was conducted with theoretical calculation and simulation using the R2012b Matlab. For the implementation, FPGA was used with a VHDL as the programming language with a help of Xilinx ISE Design Suite 14.5. Simulation results in Matlab and Simulink indicated that the filter design could be well implemented on ISL at frequency of 50 MHz - 90 MHz with stopband of 60 db. The phase responseresult of the realized design is quite linear so that the filter is suitable for data communication on the ISL.

This paper posits novel methods and an apparatus for extracting text from an image with the practical assumption: (a) poor background contrast, (b) white, curved, and/or differing fonts or character width between sets of images, (c) dotted text printed on curved reflective material, and/or (d) touching characters. Methods were evaluated using a total of 100 unique test images containing a variety of texts captured from water bottles. These tests averaged a processing time of ~10 seconds (using MATLAB R2008A on an HP 8510 W with 4 G of RAM and 2.3 GHz of processor speed), and experimental results yielded an average recognition rate of 90 to 93% using customized systems generated by the proposed development.

Fading is the most observed and frustrating problem in transmitting and receiving radio signals. A Study in correlation properties of fading helps to design proper communication systems that are robust to it. In this work, received power signal was obtained by drive-test technique. The analysis was determined using distribution fitting tool in Matlab software 7.5.0 (R2007b). The following fading distributions were used, Rayleigh, Rician, Nakagami-m, Lognormal and Weibull. Weibull fading distribution was found to give the best description of fading experienced in Ghana.On the other hand, Rician distribution, Nakagami-m distribution and lognormal distribution have less agreement with the measured data while Rayleigh fading distribution has much less agreement with measured data. The obtained mean scale parameter and the mean shape parameter in the Weibull distribution for the environment considered were 133.76 and 15.93, respectively. Furthermore, the path loss exponents in the near and far fields were also calculated; and the standard deviation of shadowing fell in the range of 4.368dB to 6.180dB.

We have carried out a study of optical image encryption in the Fresnel transform (FrT) domain, using a random phase mask (RPM) in the input plane and a phase mask based on devil’s vortex toroidal lens (DVTL) in the frequency plane. The original images are recovered from their corresponding encrypted images by using the correct parameters of theFrTand the parameters of DVTL. The use of a DVTL-based structured mask enhances security by increasing the key space for encryption and also aids in overcoming the problem of axis alignment associated with an optical setup. The proposed encryption scheme is a lensless optical system and its digital implementation has been performed using MATLAB 7.6.0 (R2008a). The scheme has been validated for a grayscale and a binary image. The efficacy of the proposed scheme is verified by computing mean-squared-error (MSE) between the recovered and the original images. We have also investigated the scheme’s sensitivity to the encryption parameters and examined its robustness against occlusion and noise attacks.

In the present work, a packed bed absorption column is designed to recover certain amounts of ethanol contained in a gaseous stream. Four packing types (50-mm metal Hiflow® rings, 50-mm ceramic Pall® rings, 50-mm metal Top Pak® rings and 25-mm metal VSP® rings) are considered in order to select the most appropriate one in terms of column dimensions, pressure drop and mass-transfer results. Several design parameters were determined including column diameter (D), packing height (Z), overall mass-transfer coefficient (Km) and gas pressure drop (P/Z), as well as the overall number of gas-phase transfer units (NtOG), overall height of a gas-phase transfer unit (HtOG) and the effective surface area of packing (ah). The most adequate packing to use for this absorption system constitutes the 25-mm metal VSP® rings, since it provided the greatest values of Km (0.325 kmol/m3.s), and ah (169.57 m-1), as well as the lowest values of both Z (0.6 m) and HtOG (0.145 m), meaning that it will supply the higher mass-transfer conditions with the lowest column dimensions. The influence of both gas mixture (QG) and solvent (mL) feed flowrates on D, Z, Km, P/Z, NtOG and HtOG was also evaluated for the four packing considered. The design methodology was solved using computing software MATLAB® version 7.8.0.347 (R2009a) (Math Works, 2009), and also Microsoft Excel®.D

Приведены результаты оценки эффективности инвестиционного проекта, полученные с использованием нейронечеткой системы. В отличие от традиционных методов оценки эффективности проекта, которые плохо работают в условиях неполной информации, предложено использовать инструментарий, относящийся к "слабым" методам искусственного интеллекта. В качестве инструментов для решения задачи выбраны искусственная нейронная сеть и система нечеткой логики. Объединение этих технологий в гибридную нейронечеткую систему, сочетающую лучшие свойства указанных методов, позволило сформировать количественную оценку эффективности инвестиционных проектов. Продемонстрирована работа нейронечеткой системы типа ANFIS (adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system), реализованная в программном комплексе MatLab R2012b. Выведено уравнение регрессии, связывающее входные параметры инвестиционного проекта с оценкой его эффективности, и проведено сравнение двух подходов к решению задачи.

Improve the existing model of power supply of the underground substation in static and dynamic modes of its operation and perform simulation of static and dynamic emergency modes of its operation.The paper is devoted to determining the possibility of modeling static and dynamic emergency modes of operation for a sectional underground substation operating in an iron ore mine. The model of two winding transformers in Matlab Simulink R2020b environment is proposed and justified. Computer simulation with the software Matlab Simulink R2020b allowed using more possibilities to calculate the power supply system of the sectional underground substation.The following methods were used to solve the problems: theoretical foundations of electrical engineering, electrical machines, power converter technology, mathematical analysis and computational mathematics.The use of the results of the work will provide opportunities for analysis of transient modes between static and dynamic (emergency) modes of operation of the power system of the iron ore mine, which in the future will reduce the cost of electricity consumed by the underground mine sub-station, as well as reduce the time and cost of finished electrical equipment to design new on the power system, and implement an intelligent power grid with controlled automated devices in real time.In the future, this will create new opportunities for conducting simulation to analyze transient modes between static and dynamic (emergency) modes of operation of the power system of the iron ore mine, which will further reduce the cost of electricity consumed by the site underground mine substation. This will reduce the time and cost of finished electrical equipment to design new loads on the power system, as well as to implement an intelligent electrical network with controllable automated devices in real time.

Purpose This paper aims to comprise the new ideas for the efficient implementation to autonomous mobile robot navigation over the complex environment in presence of static obstacles. Design/methodology/approach The fuzzy decision via probability and its distribution is applied for the generating objective function subject to the robotics path and obstacle avoidance. The present objective function is formed to achieve high level of significance for the real-time obstacle avoidance and the efficiency. Findings The proposed controller makes a robot take its decision effectively in complex environment in a feasible time. In comparison with other AI approaches the proposed controller reflects that the proposed method outperforms in terms of optimal path and quality of solution. The experimental and simulation results are nearly same. Originality/value It has been tested in a complex crowded environment to find shorter path than existed approaches. For the validation, the experimental and simulation result using Matlab Software (R2008) has provided at the end of the paper.

Abstract Cell attachment is of paramount importance in implant design, bioreactor design, tissue engineering and the design of non-fouling surfaces. Surface roughness is a significant factor that affects cell attachment. To explore the impact of roughness characteristics, micromachining approaches can be used to fabricate surfaces with controlled microscale topography. When optical microscopy is employed to study cell attachment to optically opaque micropatterned surfaces, one needs to separate the area of an image coated with cells from the background. Manual cell counting can be used to assess the amount of attached cells. However, this process is very time consuming, when the studied surface is larger than several square millimeters. This paper describes an approach for the automatic estimation of the area of cells attached to the surfaces of micro-patterned optically opaque platforms. Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells were used to test the developed approach. The approach uses image registration and segmentation tools available in MathWorks MATLAB R2020b Image Processing Toolbox. The factors that affect the accuracy of the developed approach (magnification, contrast and focus) as well as the ways of improving the results are discussed.

In this article, separation of touching grain kernels and measurement of geometric features in an image are presented. The objective of this work is to discriminate single corn kernel and some broken kernels, which are difficult to achieve on the existing machinery and equipment, especially for the counted number and quality inspection process. The digital image was obtained from flatted conveyor belt; the geometrical features were analyzed using Matlab R2009a software. It was used for recognizing multiple kernels for once. Intact and broken kernels were characterized by the changed geometrical features and combining SVM for the classification of them with accuracy 95%.Which meet the requirement of corn quality inspection comparable to subjective human inspection.

This paper explains about control of VSC using uni-polar switching based Static Compensator (STATCOM) using Peak Detection Control Strategy for elimination of PQ Problems. The proposed STATCOM are operated in PFC (Power Factor Correction) mode and ZVR (Zero Voltage Regulation) mode. Under these operation modes of STATCOM is able to suppression of harmonics, PFC at source, reactive power compensation, load balancing and compensation of neutral current. A non-isolated star/three individual single- phase transformers are connected at PCC (Point of Common Coupling) to mitigate neutral current. The Peak Detection Control Strategy is simple to implement for estimating switching pulses for VSC. This peak detection control strategy based STATCOM is modelled, simulated results are validated using MATLAB R2013b.

In this study, we examined the biomagnetic flow and heat transfer of an incompressible electrically conductive fluid (blood) containing gold nanoparticles over a stretching sheet in the presence of a magnetic dipole. In this problem, both principles of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and ferrohydrodynamics (FHD) were adopted. Biot number and slip and suction parameters were taken into consideration. The nonlinear partial differential equations were transformed into ordinary differential equations by implementing similarity transformations. The numerical solution was attained by utilizing the bvp4c function technique in MATLAB R2018b software. The influence of pertinent parameters involved in this model, such as ferromagnetic parameter, magnetic field parameter, Grashof number, Eckert number, suction parameter, Biot number, slip parameter and Prandtl number, on the dimensionless velocity, temperature, skin friction and heat transfer rate were analyzed numerically and are represented graphically. Among the numerous results, it was observed that increment in ferromagnetic parameter and Prandtl number results in decrement of the velocity and temperature, respectively. For some values of the parameters, a comparison with the results of other documents in the literature is also made.
