Streszczenie:
In order to establish and solve vehicle-bridge interaction matrix equations more easily and able to be applied to any vehicle-bridge interaction problems, a procedure has been programmed based on the ANSYS and MATLAB. Its feasibility and accuracy has been verified via comparing the results of a simple example with another verified procedure programed in the same method based on MATLAB. A study of contrasting moving load model and moving sprung mass model has been done with the former procedure. It indicates that the inertia force of the mass has a low effect on the dynamic response of vehicle and bridge when the vertical roughness of the bridge and damping effect are ignored.

The paper considers methods of controlling the process of electrodynamic structure simulation in the ANSYS Electronics Desktop software (previously known as ANSYS HFSS). The MATLAB software was leading the computation. In order to transmit data to the ANSYS Electronics Desktop software we employed the Microsoft Component Object Model technology, which makes it possible to combine software components into executables. We used simulation of a planar aperture phased antenna array to show the possibilities and limitations in controlling the ANSYS HFSS software subsequently outputting data to a text file and importing the latter into MATLAB for further computation. We present simulation results for a phased antenna array generated by the ANSYS Electronics Desktop software according to the array model compiled in MATLAB

In this paper, we use the software of ANSYS and MATLAB to do research on early computer warning system. ANSYS can check the intensity of early warning system, and MATLAB can realize the visual function of warning system. In this paper we established the process model of ANSYS intensity checking, and designed the calculation process of order flow. We use the disaster warning when opencast mining to underground mining as an example to verify the model and the algorithm. Through the calculation we get the correlation table between calculated and measured value. Finally we get the biggest stress nephogram of chamber center by using ANSYS software, and through the MATLAB software we realized visualization of surrounding rock stress. It provides the theoretical reference for the research on computer warning system in mining process. With the development of computer hardware and software technology, computer information early warning system begins to appear in many engineering fields. The characterization of a specific fuel has always been an important point for developing and designing new components or systems with the maximum efficient possible. Studying the laminar burning velocity can lay a necessary prerequisite for the accurate poststudy of the turbulent range and to understand how the combustion process takes place. The study of the combustion products from a specific reaction is a requisite for any system in order to understand the elements that are taken in the process and if it is possible to improve it. In this study, a new open code methodology was developed for the determination of combustion products, flame temperature and laminar burning velocity using numerical methods (Newton–Raphson, Taylor series and Gaussian elimination) in an application codified in MATLAB. The MATLAB application was applied for the study of Saudi LPG setting parameters such as initial temperature, pressure and equivalence ratio that are meaningful because they have a great effect on the results. In addition, simulation in Ansys Chemkin using San Diego and RedSD mechanisms was carried out. The results from the MATLAB application were compared with other experimental research and Ansys Chemkin simulation. These are presented in different plots and it is shown that: (1) For the laminar burning velocity results, the numerical method agrees with the experimental results for ratios (0.6–1.2) by other authors and the simulation in Ansys Chemkin. (2) For the highest studied equivalence ratios (1.3–1.7) the laminar burning velocity results between all the resources have more difference. (3) The combustion products calculated by the MATLAB application agree with those simulated in Ansys Chemkin except N and NO. (4) The MATLAB application gives a maximum value of 40.35 cm/s, that is greater than 35 ± 0.91, the one determined by Bader A. Alfarraj. (5) The flame temperature calculated by the MATLAB application overestimates that simulated in Ansys Chemkin but has the same behavior for all the calculated ratios. (6) The MATLAB application has also been developed for the study and analysis of other fuels.

Abstract The vibration produced by road traffic can contribute to the long-term adverse effects on heritage structures. The objectives of this study were to analyze the dynamic response of the heritage building under time-dependent loads caused by traffic vibration by carried out the transient analysis in ANSYS and to determine the level of Vibration Criterion of the heritage building due to traffic vibration by using VSATs in MATLAB software. This research was to predict the traffic vibration effect on the old building of Telecom Muar at Johor, Malaysia. A field testing was carried out using a mobile application, iDynamics, to obtain the vibration signal induced by road traffic. The data obtained were analyzed using ANSYS and MATLAB software. Two types of analysis were carried out using ANSYS, which are modal analysis and transient analysis. MATLAB was used to obtain the vibration criteria plot (VC) for the building. The natural frequency of the fundamental mode shape was 2.57Hz. The natural frequency of the building is acceptable as it is below the human sensitivity frequency range. On the other hand, the level of vibration criteria of the building falls on VC-E, which is the lowest level in the Generic Vibration Criteria Plot implemented by Gordon (1991). In conclusion, both natural frequency and the vibration criteria of the selected building is acceptable according to the results obtained from the analysis conducted.

Streszczenie:
Woven composite laminates are rapidly replacing unidirectional composite laminates in terms of structural application. Nevertheless, the deformation theory for woven laminate has not been well established compared to unidirectional laminate. Thus, this paper aims to investigate the deformation behavior of woven laminates under uniaxial tension using both the experimental and numerical approaches. The tensile tests were conducted initially according to ASTM D3039 on samples made of 2×2 twill weave carbon fiber prepeg in order to attain the material constants (E1, E2, G12 and ʋ12) and the deformation behavior from the stress-strain curve. This is important as the material parameters and values should be input correctly to ensure an accurate numerical analysis. The second stage involves the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS and analytical analysis using MATLAB. The results of extension for both numerical approaches have been compared with reference to the experimental results. The results show that the error is less than 30%. The failure analysis also has been performed to determine mode of failure using ANSYS and MATLAB by employing Maximum Stress failure criterion. The displacements during First Ply Failure (FPF) and Last Ply Failure (LPF) between ANSYS and MATLAB showed good correlation where the percentage difference is less than 1%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the current implemented procedure for unidirectional laminates could be a noble alternative approach to simulate woven laminates under tension accurately.

Streszczenie:
Composites have a wide range of applications in the field of robotics, aerospace, aviation, sports, and automotive engineering. They have appealing properties such as high strength to weight ratio, good mechanical and electrical properties, and durability. Multilayered composites are prepared by stacking different layers of composites along different directions. This research focuses on the compression and tension response of multilayered composite panels without interference of bending by using in-plane loading. The aim of this research is to develop a generalized MATLAB code for a number of layers, to solve a model composite through analytical and MATLAB computations, to analyze the stress behavior in ANSYS (ACP) and finally to compare the results. For carrying out the analysis, a multi-layered, symmetric composite panel is modelled under in-plane loading. First, a mathematical model is formulized to solve the multi-layered composite panel under in-plane loading and analytical results are obtained. Next, a generic MATLAB code is developed, followed by simulations and computational study using ANSYS (ACP) module. The results of MATLAB and the solution of the mathematical model are found to be identical. Further, the results obtained from ANSYS (ACP) have shown the stresses in each layer and overall deformation of the composite panel. The overall results from three methods have shown that the stresses produced in a composite panel are symmetric across mirrored layers. However, there is a significant difference between the analytical and ANSYS (ACP) results, this is due to the limitations of the Classical Laminate Theory (CLT) which has been used in the analytical study. CLT does not take into effect the out-of-plane stresses. However, in real life scenarios, out-of-plane stresses exist under the in-plane loadings and have a significant effect around the edges and corners of the panel. If 10 percent of the edges are removed on both sides, the analytical results and simulations are found to be in good agreement. Further, after the ANSYS (ACP) analysis has been obtained for the panel, a sandwiched composite panel has been modelled by adding a core material of foam and polyethylene at the center of the composite. The thickness of the core material is varied to observe the change in the stress behavior. The results have shown that there is an increased stress behavior when a softer core is used or the thickness of the core material is increased.

This paper is concerned with the study of the kinematic and kinetic analysis of a slider crank linkage using D'Alembert's principle. The links of the considered mechanism are assumed to be rigid. The analytical solution to observe the motion (displacement, velocity, and acceleration), reactions at each joint, torque required to drive the mechanism and the shaking force have been computed by a computer program written in MATLAB language over one complete revolution of the crank shaft. The results are compared with a finite element simulation carried out by using ANSYS Workbench software and are found to be in good agreement. A graphical method (relative velocity and acceleration method) has been also applied for two phases of the crank shaft (q2 = 10° and 130°). The results obtained from this method (graphical) are compared with those obtained from analytical and numerical method and are found very acceptable. To make the analysis linear the friction force on the joints and sliding interface are neglected. All results, in this work, are obtained when the crank shaft turns at a uniform angular velocity (w2 = 188.5 rad/s) and time dependent gas pressure force on the slider crown.

In this paper, a mathematical model and a finite element model are established to describe the dispersion characteristics of acoustic modes in a two-layer medium. Air-coupled ultrasound was used to detect interfacial defects in a laminated composite. An appropriate excitation signal was simulated to locate interface defects by both MATLAB (for the numerical model) and ANSYS (for the finite element model) software tools. The results confirmed that the mode of the excitation wave was consistent with the materials of the layered structure, which ensured propagation of the wave into each layer whereas avoiding the phenomenon of total reflection that prevents complete detection of the interfacial adhesive properties in the layered composite structure. This study demonstrates that the size of an interface defect should be simulated interchangeably using both MATLAB and ANSYS software. As such, it is feasible to detect the interfacial quality of laminated composites by air-coupled ultrasonic waves.

Streszczenie:
Abstract: Finite Element Analysis or FEA is the simulation of a physical phenomenon using a numerical mathematic technique referred to as the Finite Element Method or FEM. This process is at the core of mechanical engineering, as well as a variety of other disciplines. It also is one of the key principles used in the development of simulation software. Engineers can use these FEM to reduce the number of physical prototypes and run virtual experiments to optimize their designs. Finite Element Analysis is used in various fields like structural, fluid flow, heat transfer to estimate the behavior of a component in real environment. There now exists growing body of knowledge connected with the development of mathematical models and numerical simulations of physical model. There are various software packages like Ansys, OptiStruct, COMSOL, Solidworks and many more which provide a close estimate in simulation models. Apart from these software MATLAB also has a Partial Differential Equation (PDE) toolbox which enables us to perform these simulations using some built-in functions and codes. However, a computational numerical technique is not an end of design rather it just provides a great estimate of the final component for which the results are only as good as the input provided and the final component in most of the cases require a physical testing in environment which it is meant to perform as a validation. Keywords: Brake pedal, MATLAB, Partial differential equation (PDE) toolbox, Tetrahedral mesh.

In this paper, the magnetic force actuator (MFA), a new type of actuator, is applied for long stroke driving with simple structure and high reliability. Ansys and Matlab are adopted to study its static and dynamic characteristics and conduct parameter design. The static simulation concludes static magnetic field, end shield material, structure size of permanent magnet and processing deviation of the actuator, which will impact the characteristics of the actuator in varying degrees. Then the state equations describing the dynamic characteristics of MFA are solved by four-order Runge-kutta method and finite-element method. Interactive interface of the APDL-file and M-file and Macrosoft Visual Basic (VB) is designed to combine Ansys and Matlab to realize optimization design of structure parameters, which simplifies the operation methods and enhances the efficiency. The dynamic simulation results show its good work performance compared with the experiment characteristics of practical 40.5kV SF6 circuit breaker with the spring mechanism.

The dynamic behavior of plates with mixed boundary conditions has been the subject of intensive study for many years due to its great importance in many engineering applications. On-trend approach in dynamic response analysis is to combine mathematical model, test results and computer simulation. Classical techniques of mathematical modeling of intricate structural systems for response analysis in frequency or time domain are tiresome and time consuming. In this study, a point supported rectangular plate considered and extraction of its system model from FE model, validated by the test results, by using commercially available computer programs such as Ansys and Matlab is demonstrated. State space mathematical model in principal coordinates obtained in Matlab from the modal analysis results of its FE model. Its modes sorted with respect to peak gain values, and the modes with the less contributions to the response truncated. To validate the accuracy of this method and truncation, transient responses from the full model with no reduction, truncated model, and Ansys are compared and found to be in accord with each other. Its demonstrated by plotting the indicated results of analyses, and emphasized the significant processing times between the conventional approach and stated method. It is concluded obvious that this study will make a good understanding in simplifying the dynamic analysis of vibration problems of plates.

Streszczenie:
Numerical analysis of a multibody mechanism moving in the air is a complicated problem in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Analyzing the motion of a multibody mechanism in a commercial CFD software, i.e., ANSYS Fluent®, is a challenging issue. This is because the components of a mechanism have to be constrained next to each other during the movement in the air to have a reliable numerical aerodynamics simulation. However, such constraints cannot be numerically modeled in a commercial CFD software, and needs to be separately incorporated into models through the programming environment, such as user-defined functions (UDF). This study proposes a nonlinear-incremental dynamic CFD/multibody method to simulate constrained multibody mechanisms in the air using UDF of ANSYS Fluent®. To testify the accuracy of the proposed method, Newton–Euler dynamic equations for a two-link mechanism are solved using Matlab® ordinary differential equations (ODEs), and the numerical results for the constrained mechanisms are compared. The UDF results of ANSYS Fluent® shows good agreement with Matlab®, and can be applied to constrained multibody mechanisms moving in the air. The proposed UDF of ANSYS Fluent® calculates the aerodynamic forces of a flying multibody mechanism in the air for a low simulation cost than the constraint force equation (CFE) method. The results could have implications in designing and analyzing flying robots to help human rescue teams, and nonlinear dynamic analyses of the aerodynamic forces applying on a moving object in the air, such as airplanes, birds, flies, etc.

The mathematic model of a two-bar truss is built in MATLAB and the analysis is carried out by the genetic algorithm toolbox. The parametric model of the planar truss is established by the ANSYS Parametric Design Language. Solutions are obtained using the first-order method native. Genetic algorithms don’t always display better properties than others. Finally, a joint optimization method is proposed, which combines MATLAB genetic algorithm toolbox and the numerical algorithm based on the quasi-Newton method. The method is identified through the numerical example of the two-bar truss. The results indicate the joint optimization method can always converge to the global optimal solution.

Under the action of load, the corresponding relationship between stress and strain is nonlinear, so it is very difficult to make mechanical analysis and material selection in engineering applications. This paper takes butyl rubber as the research object, which obtains stress-strain data through uniaxial compression tests at different strain rates, fits material parameters through MATLAB according to three commonly used hyper-elastic constitutive models, and carries out static finite element simulation analysis based on Ansys. The analysis results are compared with the test results, to verify the practicability and accuracy of the constitutive model and provide a reference for engineering applications.

One of the most important engineering problems today is the optimization of systems and process parameters. Optimization is one of the longest and most costly steps to conclude for many multidisciplinary studies. Numerical analysis has been a widely applied approach to reduce this cost of time and money. In this study, first of all, a gearbox with geometric dimensions is modeled using Matlab commercial package software. The created model was then subjected to finite element analysis via student version of Ansys commercial package. The strength of the system was examined over the stress and deformation values obtained in those analysis. Considering the equivalent von Mises stress values obtained in the study, a maximum 200 MPa design on the gear wheels and a two-fold safe design according to the yield limit was revealed. In addition, a Matlab software that reveals the welding path for the reducer outer sleeve and jib crane has also been produced in this study.

The current review covers numerical analysis using Matlab program for multi-layer composite materials. Which involves studies are related to the intersection with fibers, between layers and piezoelectric layer or patch. It has been reported that using Matlab program has a great flexibility in analysis due to its library which includes various numerical methods. In addition to the ability of programming and developing the finite element technology to calculate the stress and strain in each layer based on different deformation methods such as (FSDT and HSDT), to obtain mechanical properties. It has been claimed that there is a deviation in results between Matlab and Ansys for the same 20-layer composite material. Using Matlab in dynamic analysis in various methods such as Newmark, Rayleigh damping, Timoshenko, and Euler-Bernoulli exhibit good agreement with natural frequencies and mode shapes. Moreover, Matlab is useful for the real-time process of data acquisition to deliver a digital model of a composite material coated with a piezoelectric plate and is an ideal material for sensing, detecting, and controlling vibration inhibition.
