Streszczenie:
In order to establish and solve vehicle-bridge interaction matrix equations more easily and able to be applied to any vehicle-bridge interaction problems, a procedure has been programmed based on the ANSYS and MATLAB. Its feasibility and accuracy has been verified via comparing the results of a simple example with another verified procedure programed in the same method based on MATLAB. A study of contrasting moving load model and moving sprung mass model has been done with the former procedure. It indicates that the inertia force of the mass has a low effect on the dynamic response of vehicle and bridge when the vertical roughness of the bridge and damping effect are ignored.

The paper considers methods of controlling the process of electrodynamic structure simulation in the ANSYS Electronics Desktop software (previously known as ANSYS HFSS). The MATLAB software was leading the computation. In order to transmit data to the ANSYS Electronics Desktop software we employed the Microsoft Component Object Model technology, which makes it possible to combine software components into executables. We used simulation of a planar aperture phased antenna array to show the possibilities and limitations in controlling the ANSYS HFSS software subsequently outputting data to a text file and importing the latter into MATLAB for further computation. We present simulation results for a phased antenna array generated by the ANSYS Electronics Desktop software according to the array model compiled in MATLAB

Streszczenie:
In this paper, we use the software of ANSYS and MATLAB to do research on early computer warning system. ANSYS can check the intensity of early warning system, and MATLAB can realize the visual function of warning system. In this paper we established the process model of ANSYS intensity checking, and designed the calculation process of order flow. We use the disaster warning when opencast mining to underground mining as an example to verify the model and the algorithm. Through the calculation we get the correlation table between calculated and measured value. Finally we get the biggest stress nephogram of chamber center by using ANSYS software, and through the MATLAB software we realized visualization of surrounding rock stress. It provides the theoretical reference for the research on computer warning system in mining process. With the development of computer hardware and software technology, computer information early warning system begins to appear in many engineering fields. This system can carry on security issues of real-time detection and warning in the process of project implementation, and through the visualization software to display this information.

Streszczenie:
The characterization of a specific fuel has always been an important point for developing and designing new components or systems with the maximum efficient possible. Studying the laminar burning velocity can lay a necessary prerequisite for the accurate poststudy of the turbulent range and to understand how the combustion process takes place. The study of the combustion products from a specific reaction is a requisite for any system in order to understand the elements that are taken in the process and if it is possible to improve it. In this study, a new open code methodology was developed for the determination of combustion products, flame temperature and laminar burning velocity using numerical methods (Newton–Raphson, Taylor series and Gaussian elimination) in an application codified in MATLAB. The MATLAB application was applied for the study of Saudi LPG setting parameters such as initial temperature, pressure and equivalence ratio that are meaningful because they have a great effect on the results. In addition, simulation in Ansys Chemkin using San Diego and RedSD mechanisms was carried out. The results from the MATLAB application were compared with other experimental research and Ansys Chemkin simulation. These are presented in different plots and it is shown that: (1) For the laminar burning velocity results, the numerical method agrees with the experimental results for ratios (0.6–1.2) by other authors and the simulation in Ansys Chemkin. (2) For the highest studied equivalence ratios (1.3–1.7) the laminar burning velocity results between all the resources have more difference. (3) The combustion products calculated by the MATLAB application agree with those simulated in Ansys Chemkin except N and NO. (4) The MATLAB application gives a maximum value of 40.35 cm/s, that is greater than 35 ± 0.91, the one determined by Bader A. Alfarraj. (5) The flame temperature calculated by the MATLAB application overestimates that simulated in Ansys Chemkin but has the same behavior for all the calculated ratios. (6) The MATLAB application has also been developed for the study and analysis of other fuels.

Streszczenie:
Engineers have to deal with uncertainties as a challenge when pursuing the safest and most economical design. Several methods have been used over the years to deal with these uncertainties and to make this conceptual design phase more straight forward. Safety goals have been achieved due to safety coefficients found in design codes, but there is a lack of software tools to carry out risk and reliability analysis. Within the framework of University research, the novel idea of combining wood and steel as two structural members of mid-rise hybrid buildings is being studied. The need for an optimized design to start off the hybrid structure project led to this thesis, where the goal is to link the ANSYS structural analysis program to a Matlab platform for integrating probabilistic constraints. The methodology proposed by Loewen seeks to remedy the uncertainty issues encountered by engineers, and his Probability Constraint Satisfaction Program (PCSP) is the foundation of the Matlab platform developed more extensively here. This method involves subdividing the design space and estimating the potential of meeting the constraints according to the probability distribution of the data in each interval. An advantage output of this technique are design spaces combining probabilities of various data. The structural component of this thesis involves formatted files serving as input for ANSYS program were created to automatically model multistorey hybrid steel-wood structures. Some frameworks and a literature review introduce the pros and cons of this type of construction. Many issues are dealt with during the modeling phase whereas some are left to the future developing stage. Simplified examples leading to an understanding of the methodology developed to build an efficient link are shown to illustrate the essence of the research done. Additional computations were added to the programs script files and resulted in a powerful tool that was put to the test with two different examples- a simple hybrid frame and a multistorey steel structure. As a result of this work on the example structures, the PCSP method produced design spaces, presented to the reader.

Sebastian Zetterström, Master of Science in energy systems, Mälardalens University in Västerås. Abstract of Master’s thesis, submitted 16th of August. Evaluation of a suction pyrometer by heat and mass transfer methods. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the cooling of a specific suction pyrometer which is designed by Jan Skvaril, doctorate at Mälardalens University. First part is explained how the balances and correlations are performed before being implemented in MATLAB, after this  a ANSYS Fluent model is constructed and explained, which is used for the comparison of results. The cooling is performed by using water at an inlet temperature of 10°C and an assumed flue gas temperature of 810°C. Sensitivity analysis are performed to test the stability of the models which yield good results for stability, done by adjusting both flue gas temperature and inlet cooling water temperature which are as well presented for observation. From doing further MATLAB sensitivity analysis which show that the model still performs well and is stable. The resulting cooling water is heated to approximately 24, 8°C and the flue gas is cooled to 22, 4°C, in ANSYS Fluent the answer differs approximately 2°C and results in 20, 4°C which can be considered by looking at the flue gas inlet temperature of 810°C that this can be deemed an insignificant change and can therefore conclude that the comparison between the two platforms match each other good and that calculations can be considered accurate. Streszczenie:
Abstract A two-dimensional transient thermal conduction problem is examined and numerical solutions to the problem generated by ANSYS and Matlab, employing the finite element method, are compared against an analytical solution. Various different grid densities and time-step combinations are used in the numerical solutions, including some as recommended by default in the ANSYS software, including coarse, medium and fine spatial grids. The transient temperature solutions from the analytical and numerical schemes are compared at four specific locations on the body and time-dependent error curves are generated for each point. Additionally, tabular values of each solution are presented for a more detailed comparison. The errors found in the numerical solutions by comparing them directly with the analytical solution vary depending primarily on the time step size used. The errors are much larger if calculated using the analytical solution at a given time as a basis of the comparison between the two solutions as opposed to using the steady-state temperature as a basis. The largest errors appear in the early time steps of the problem, which is typically the regime wherein the largest errors occur in mathematical solutions to transient conduction problems. Conversely, errors at larger values of dimensionless time are extremely small and the numerical solutions agree within one tenth of one percent of the analytical solutions at even the worst locations. In addition to difficulties during the early time values of the problem, temperatures calculated on convective boundaries or prescribed-heat-flux boundaries are locations generating larger-magnitude errors. Corners are particularly difficult locations and require finer gridding and finer time steps in order to generate a very precise solution from a numerical code. These regions are compared, using several grid densities, against the analytical solutions. The analytical solutions are, in turn, intrinsically verified to eight significant digits by comparing similar analytical solutions against one another at very small values of dimensionless time. The solution developed using the Matlab differential equation solver was found to have errors of a similar magnitude to those generated using ANSYS. Two different test cases are examined for the various numerical solutions using the selected grid densities. The first case involves steady heating on a portion of one surface for a long duration, up to a dimensionless time of 30. The second test case involves constant heating for a dimensionless time of one, immediately followed by an insulated condition on that same surface for another duration of one dimensionless time unit. Although the errors at large times were extremely small, the errors found within the short duration test were more significant.
