Streszczenie:
One of the main reasons poverty is bad for children's development is because it reduces maternal responsiveness. This study addresses a heretofore unanswered question: why do low-income children experience diminished maternal responsiveness compared with their more affluent counterparts? In addition, we examine this question among a largely neglected population, young adolescent ( M = 13.1 years), rural low- and middle-income, white children. These families all reside in small towns and rural areas in North America. The negative association between poverty and maternal responsiveness is mediated by the combination of heightened maternal stress and diminished social networks.

Streszczenie:
Removal of poly(A) tail is an important mechanism controlling eukaryotic mRNA turnover. The major eukaryotic deadenylase complex CCR4-NOT contains two deadenylase components, CCR4 and CAF1, for which mammalian CCR4 is encoded by Cnot6 or Cnot6l paralogs. We show that Cnot6l apparently supplies the majority of CCR4 in the maternal CCR4-NOT in mouse, hamster, and bovine oocytes. Deletion of Cnot6l yielded viable mice, but Cnot6l−/− females exhibited ∼40% smaller litter size. The main onset of the phenotype was post-zygotic: fertilized Cnot6l−/− eggs developed slower and arrested more frequently than Cnot6l+/− eggs, suggesting that maternal CNOT6L is necessary for accurate oocyte-to-embryo transition. Transcriptome analysis revealed major transcriptome changes in Cnot6l−/− ovulated eggs and one-cell zygotes. In contrast, minimal transcriptome changes in preovulatory Cnot6l−/− oocytes were consistent with reported Cnot6l mRNA dormancy. A minimal overlap between transcripts sensitive to decapping inhibition and Cnot6l loss suggests that decapping and CNOT6L-mediated deadenylation selectively target distinct subsets of mRNAs during oocyte-to-embryo transition in mouse.

Streszczenie:
The aim of this work is the investigation of psychological conditions, helping primiparous women to develop the role of mother. 73 primiparous mothers of 6—24 months children took part in the study. Three groups of conditions turned out to be important in the process of mastering the new role: the level of flexibility, realistic expectations and emotional attitude to the components of the mother role (towards the care of the baby, towards woman herself as a mother and the baby). Mothers with high level of rigidity estimate the difficulty of mastering the new role as the highest in the sample. It is also harder to adapt to the new role of parent for women with unjustified expectations about motherhood. They more often experience motherhood as a refusal of many life spheres. The difficulties associated with caring for the child are better tolerated by women who emotionally accept the components of the maternal role, have positive attitude to themselves as mothers, to the baby and to the process of caring about it.

Streszczenie:
This study investigated maternal role attainment during the puerperal stage, as well as the role of midwives in the mother's positive adaptation. The concept of maternal role attainment was defined as "a developmentally, interactive, adaptive, and committed multi-dimensional process based on the discovery of pregnancy, characteristics of the mother, receiving social support, which leads to maternal identity, formation of maternal skills, resiliency, development of newborn, improvement of mother-newborn interactions and increased well-being of the mother. The study was based on Mercer's theory, which emphasises the mother-child bond as a source of competency, confidence, and joy in the motherhood role. Mercer's original maternal role attainment theory has four stages. Midwives and women's health-care personnel, according to the study findings, are in a position to teach the importance of maternal role, support the baby perception process in the early postnatal stages, and help develop the mother's self-confidence in order for mothers to develop successful motherhood behaviours and to assist women in appropriate maternal role attainment and maternal role satisfaction. It was suggested that there was a need to develop maternal skills, and that this is dependent on the mother's perception of her maternal role and her ability to attain and fulfil it.

Streszczenie:
AIM: The study is to investigate the effect of maternal role intervention with increased maternal role identity attainment in pregnancy and infant growth. METHODS: The authors conducted a meta-analysis of published research articles on the effect of maternal role intervention with increased maternal role identity attainment in pregnancy and infant growth. We published research articles between May 2018-January 2020 in the online database of Pubmed, ProQuest and EBSCO. Weight mean differences were calculated using fixed and random-effect models. The data were analyzed using Review Manager 5 (RevMan 5.3). RESULT: There were nine studies which conducted systematic review then continued by a meta-analysis of relevant data with the total number of samples was 1474 subjects. The results showed that there was maternal role effect with increased satisfaction of becoming a mother (weight mean difference = −2.24 [95% confidence interval (CI) −4.19 −0.29]) and decreased mother depression (weight mean difference = −1.93 [95% CI −3.09 −0.78]), (p < 0.05).Depression and satisfaction variables had homogenous research variation. While, maternal role in supporting infant health, mother competency, and trust in taking care of infants is not associated with maternal role identity attainment (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION: This analysis confirmed an effect of maternal role intervention in pregnancy and postpartum can increasing satisfaction of becoming a mother and decreasing depression.
