Bursting dynamics of mappings is investigated in this paper. We first present stability analysis of the mappings' equilibria with various parameters. Then for three mappingsP,P¯, andP^with different parameters, we study their powersP4,P¯6, andP^4. We show that the mappings thus obtained are chaotic by giving a rigorous verification of existence of horseshoes in these mappings. Precisely, we prove that the mappingP¯6is semiconjugate to the 3-shift mapping; the mappingsP4andP^4are semiconjugate to the 4-shift mapping.

The proposed work is presented in two folds. The first aim is to deals with the new notion called generalized ?i?j-Hp(., ., ...)-accretive mappings that are the sum of two symmetric accretive mappings. It is an extension of ??-H(., .)-accretive mapping, studied and analyzed by Kazmi [18]. We define the proximalpoint mapping associated with generalized ?i?j-Hp(., ., ...)-accretive mapping and demonstrate aspects on single-valued property and Lipschitz continuity. The graph convergence of generalized ?i?j-Hp(., ., ...)- accretive mapping is discussed. Second aim is to introduce and study the generalized Yosida approximation mapping and Yosida inclusion problem. Next, we obtain the convergence on generalized Yosida approximation mappings by using the graph convergence of generalized ?i?j-Hp(., ., ...)-accretive mappings without using the convergence of its proximal-point mapping. As an application, we consider the Yosida inclusion problem in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces and propose an iterative scheme connected with generalized Yosida approximation mapping of generalized ?i?j-Hp(., ., ...)-accretive mapping to find a solution of Yosida inclusion problem and discuss its convergence criteria under appropriate assumptions. Some examples are constructed and demonstrate few graphics for the convergence of proximal-point mapping as well as generalized Yosida approximation mapping linked with generalized ?i?j-Hp(., ., ...)-accretive mappings.

In a world of wide-scale information sharing, data are described in different formats, i.e. data structures, values and schemas. Querying such sources entails techniques that can bridge the data formats. Some existing techniques deal with schema mapping and view complementary aspects of the problem. Important ones, consider producing all the possible mappings for a pair of schemas, insinuating accompanying semantics in the mappings and adapting correct mappings as schemas evolve. In this work, we consider the problem of discovering mappings as schemas of autonomous sources are gradually revealed. Using as an example setting an overlay of peer databases, we present a schema mapping solution that discovers correct mappings as peer schemas are gradually revealed to remote peers. Mapping discovery is schema-centric and incorporates new semantics as they are unveiled. Mapping experience is reused and possible mappings are ranked so that the best choice is presented to the user. The experimental study confirms the suitability of the proposed solution to dynamic settings of heterogeneous sources.

The primary intend of this article is to define a new class of mappings called Ng# α-quotient mappings in nano topological space. The intention is to analyze characterizations and inter relationship of Ng# α-quotient mappings with nano Tg#α-space, Ng# α-continuous, Ng# α-open, Ng# α-irresolute, Ng# α-homeomorphism and nano α-quotient mapping. Also several properties of strongly Ng# α-quotient mapping are derived and the relationships among them are illustrated with the help of examples. Their interesting composition with strongly Ng# α-irresolute are established. The concept of Ng# α-quotient mapping is explored and composition of mappings under strongly Ng# α-quotient mapping and Ng# α-quotient mapping are discussed. Furthermore, to emphasize Ng# α-quotient mapping a few examples are considered and derived in detail.

In this paper, under some new appropriate conditions imposed on the parameters and mappings involved in the proximal mapping associated with a general H-monotone operator, its Lipschitz continuity is proved and an estimate of its Lipschitz constant is computed. The main contribution of this work is the establishment of a new equivalence relationship between the graph convergence of a sequence of general strongly H-monotone mappings and their associated proximal mappings, respectively, to a given general strongly H-monotone mapping and its associated proximal mapping by using the notions of graph convergence and proximal mapping concerning a general strongly H-monotone mapping. By employing the concept of proximal mapping relating to general strongly H-monotone mapping, some iterative algorithms are proposed, and as an application of the obtained equivalence relationship mentioned above, a convergence theorem for approximating a common element of the set of solutions of a system of generalized variational inclusions involving general strongly H-monotone mappings and the set of fixed points of an ({an},{bn},ϕ)-total uniformly L-Lipschitzian mapping is proved. It is significant to emphasize that our results are new and improve and generalize many known corresponding results.

Denna rapport jämför tre stycken texturmappningsalgoritmer vars uppgift är att öka detaljrikedomen på ytor utan att tillföra några extra polygoner. Algoritmerna är tre stycken pixel-shaders vars uppgift är att skapa illusionen av tre dimensioner istället för två på de ytor algoritmerna är applicerad på. Ytor med få polygoner ska se ut att bestå utav många fler.

Fyra expriment har utförts på tre, till formen mycket olika, 3D-modeller tillsammans med tre olika texturuppsättningar berstående utav färg-, normal- och höjdtextur.

Resultatet visar att alla tre tekniker har olika starka och svaga sidor och på så vis sina optimala användningsområden.

This thesis deals with practical implementation of photon mapping algorithm. To achieve better results some basic and some more advanced methods of global illumination has been examined. These time demanding algorithms are often practically unusable and their further optimization is necessary. Optimized ray tracer is essential for practical implementation. Computing diffuse interreflection by Monte Carlo sampling is also very time demanding operation. Therefore it is appropriate to use it along with proper interpolation.

These publications are a summary of work I have completed in brain mapping over many years. The work includes one book (The Rat Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates, 6th compact edition), ten articles on hindbrain and spinal cord anatomy published in peer reviewed journals between 1975 to 2011, and five published chapters on spinal cord anatomy, including two spinal cord atlases. Over my career I have published 15 books on the anatomy of the brain and spinal cord of experimental animals. I am first author or equal co-author of ten of these books. The most successful of these books, "The Rat Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates" (Paxinos and Watson, l 982, 1986, 1996, 1998, 2005, 2007), has earned over 50,000 citations since it was first published in 1982. The second edition alone is ranked 32 in the Thomson ISI 50 most cited publications of all time, having been cited 17,093 times up to January 2006. Dr George Paxinos and l are equal contributors to this work; the order of authors was decided on alphabetical precedence.

In human conversation an input post is open to multiple potential responses, which is typically regarded as a one-to-many problem. Promising approaches mainly incorporate multiple latent mechanisms to build the one-to-many relationship. However, without accurate selection of the latent mechanism corresponding to the target response during training, these methods suffer from a rough optimization of latent mechanisms. In this paper, we propose a multi-mapping mechanism to better capture the one-to-many relationship, where multiple mapping modules are employed as latent mechanisms to model the semantic mappings from an input post to its diverse responses. For accurate optimization of latent mechanisms, a posterior mapping selection module is designed to select the corresponding mapping module according to the target response for further optimization. We also introduce an auxiliary matching loss to facilitate the optimization of posterior mapping selection. Empirical results demonstrate the superiority of our model in generating multiple diverse and informative responses over the state-of-the-art methods.

The goal of this invited tutorial paper is to provide an overview of three current research efforts in heterogeneous computing that focus on methods for determining a mapping of an application onto a heterogeneous suite of machines. The first study involves a genetic-algorithm approach for mapping the subtasks of an application task onto the machines in a distributed heterogeneous system. This is a static compile-time approach that must be used off-line (prior to task execution) due to its long run time. The second topic is the high-level design of components of an intelligent operating system for mapping and dynamically remapping automatic target recognition tasks onto a heterogeneous parallel platform. The intelligent operating system uses a new technique for dynamically selecting new mappings on-line during task execution from among choices precomputed off-line. Last, some initial preliminary results from a new research project for designing a dynamic mapping heuristic that does not use precomputed mappings is described. This dynamic heuristic is fast and is suitable for operation during application execution. Future research directions are discussed for all three projects.

A challenge in sonification design is mapping data param-eters onto acoustic parameters in a way that aligns with a listener’s mental model of how a given data parameter should sound. Studies have used the psychophysical scaling method of magnitude estimation to systematically evaluate how participants per-ceive mappings between data and sound parameters - giving data on perceived polarity and scale of the relationship between the data and sound parameters. As of yet, there has been little re-search investigating whether data-to-sound mappings that are de-signed based on results from these magnitude estimation experiments have any effect on users’ performance in an applied audi-tory display task. This paper presents an experiment that com-pares data-to-sound mappings in which the mapping’s polarity is based on results from a previous magnitude estimation experiment against mappings whose polarities are inverted. The experiment is based around a simple task in which participants need to rank WiFi networks based on how secure they are, where security is represented using an auditory display. Results suggest that for a simple auditory display like the one used here, whether or not the polarities of the data-to-sound mappings are based on magnitude estimation does not have a substantial effect on any objective per-formance measures gathered during the experiment. Finally, potential areas for future work are discussed that may continue to investigate the problems addressed by this paper.

Abstract Product data exchange between heterogeneous CAD/CAM/PDM systems is an issue for the integration of production systems. STEP offers a mechanism of product data exchange between heterogeneous systems. This paper introduces a UML-based mapping methodology for the product data exchange. The suggested mapping methodology has been applied to two different mappings. One is a mapping for the data exchange between a CAD and a PDM system. The other is the STEP to XML mapping for the information communication on the Internet.
