Pełny tekst źródłaOur society maintains a complex relation with night, space-time often outside the diurnal cadences which facilitates the reflection, the imagination, the creation, the listening and the link with the other one, while revealing the segregation, the fear, and thus the restriction. By this research, we put compared to the urban lighting – real light project carrier of a strong symbolism – the socio-cultural, ecological and sanitary costs engendered by the artificial light. The urban lighting generates a geographical interlacing of bright imprints of differentiated scales, which we approach by various modellings, without forbidding us the sensitive analysis. We clarify, at various scales, the games of institutional actors and the constraints surrounding the governance of the street lighting in France, and we underline the reproduction of the possibilities offered for its local management. A characterization of the various impacts of the nocturnal artificial light by means of abstract tools of the economy of the environment allows to define as real pollutions the ecological and sanitary damages, and as nuisance the decrease – even the loss – of the accessibility to the starry sky. We show how the environmental good "starry sky" was seized by the astronomers to carry a positive project integrating henceforth the nocturnal environment in general: "Save the night". Oppositions to this project marked out its history, but the necessary energy savings and the budgets of territorial communities bring henceforth the local actors to reconsider with more interest the various propositions made by the associations of "protection of the nocturnal sky and environment". But the difficult efficiency of the mechanisms of coasian bargaining brings us to defend that the protection of these pure public goods, not unbargainable, must be taken care by the public authorities

We have also attempted to discover such images in his essays, since his oeuvre cannot be separated from his life. Darkness generally represents negative, pessimistic or devilish forces, whereas light symbolizes opposing forces, those which are positive, optimistic and beneficial. This opposition is manifested in material form: by the darkness or light thrown out by a landscape, and spiritually: through the shadows of sin or the light of god's grace. Nonetheless, the polarities of this opposition come together when we consider that darkness can presage light. Indeed, evil exists in relation to god and not in itself. It is through disappointment, failure and suffering that man perceives the existence of another reality which is god, the absolute man himself, the sinner, exists in relation to god and this is summed up in George Bernanos and little sister Thérèse's words: "all is grace". The relationship between darkness and light thus escapes antithetical balance and becomes dramatic and paradoxical. Ever more darkness presages ever more light, and the power of darkness demands a more fervent hope. Since, "a stealthy gleam must flicker at the end of night, a stroke of azur break through the stormy sky, a peacefulness, imbued with god's presence, rise up on the path of pain and misery"

The introspection of the relationship between the humanity and the universe is adopted as the archetypical theme through which the diversification of the theme takes place. The divinity at times presents itself cruel, and sometimes protective to the man in the darkness of pain bewildered between one's passion or worldly desires and one's virtue. And the paternal hegemony is contrasted from negation of mother who is the origin of the sin. The question over the purity of the blood threats the sanctity of the birth by means of the evil of atavism. The thematic associations are fixed by the overall network of poetic images. The archetypes such as night, bosom, somber fire, obscure water that reflect the "dark" are evoked by the "scheme" of descent and engulfment. While the diurnal archetypes such as luminary, purity, summit, sword correspond with the "scheme" of ascent and "disintegration or dissemination" throughout the literature. The imaginary world of Racine is built upon "coincidentia oppositorum" in which sublimation for transcendence clearly triumphs over chaos of naught whose existence was the result of the countless "dark" experiences

Because the figuration of the language forces, which fonctions as the light and the shadow in the "imaginary" writing, reply to the question being raised from the human life. The peculiar logic, found in Boris Vian's text, is the objet of a quest and a comprehension, because it evolves in the total obscurity of the linear time peculiar to his words. There, an ephemeral time is reconstituted through the play of the light and the shadow. To reconstruct this time with this play, is to control his own ephemeral time to overcome and surpass the anguish which Boris Vian encounters in his life. This anguish is, then, organized by itself in the play of the light and the shadow which constructs the space where its form and its force are spelled. The play of the light and the shadow implements a meaning, belonging to the events occurring only in the poetic space, where the light and the shadow make the first impression which we can't meet in other places, and can be comprehended only in that poetic space. And then, the poetic creation, which is equivalent to the total disaccord with the "first reality", permits to create a new reality. The resultant writing constitues another world and develops a new space where the silence of the world evaporates, and where diverse events take place - diverse "modalities of structurization" of the play of the light and the shadow

Char’s lyric words, seaming the physical and the metaphysical, question our obscure ties—between life and poetry, need and love, the poem of desire thus lets loose the real. As for Time, it appears contradictory between the flashing present and the meditation on the lost nude. Then, Char interprets in an original way the delicate bond between the subject and the world through an aesthetics that shifts the boundary between narrative and fragment. Finally, his attention to the obscure is also so shrewd and respectful of the world that his poems sometimes seem to give way to an epiphany, or rather a natural interrogation, through a flash of metaphor

Pełny tekst źródłaInAs quantum dots grown on InP substrate are attractive for optoelectronic devices working at 1. 55 µm used in long haul telecommunication network. This PhD work concerns the formation of QD by molecular beam epitaxy on InP (001) substrates. Such substrate orientation is largely used in industry for device elaboration; however the formation of QD on it appears complex. In a first part the trend of QD structural characteristic changes versus growth parameters are reviewed and discussed in the frame of a classical nucleation and growth model. We show as a function of nanostructure size, a shape change from wires to quantum dots. We evidence the key role of the arsenic pressure on this transition. Calculations based on Tersoff analytical expression of the nanostructure energy show that the shape change can be related to the différence of the surface energy of their facets. In the second part of this work the growth on misoriented InP(001) substrates is investigated. Alter optimization of arsenic pressure during growth and substrates miscut direction, a high density (9 1010 QD/cm2) of small quantum dots has been achieved on InP(001). Further investigations allow us to achieve QD laser on InP (001) vicinal substrates with a threshold current density as low as 141 A/cm2

In particular, he interprets the paintings of Adam Elsheimer and of Caravaggio as manifestations of a crisis of knowledge, and analyse them in the context of cultural objects and phenomena from other fields such as texts by Bruno, Montaigne, Shakespeare and Cervantes, and the first creations of the musical Baroque. The concrete limitation of visibility that Tenebrism entails is thus interpreted not as the simple emergence of a new realism or as originating exclusively in the Counter-Reformation, as has been often suggested. Instead, the role of darkness, and of other pictorial devices complicating the mimetic regime, is considered in the context of generalised scepticism, a reaction to the epistemological saturation in the aftermath of Renaissance Humanism

Starting with a biography of the founder, his dogmatic system, the principles of dualism, the depicting of Mani's Heptateuch as well as the image, the presentation of ecclesiastical rules, the sacerdotal hierarchy as well as the communal disciplines, this document thus supplies a full account of Chinese Manichaeism. The goal pursued by the writer of the text was to adorn his doctrine with such colours as to make it easy to follow for a population already impregnated by Taoism and Buddhism. To this end, and non contented with just using vocabulary drawn from Buddhist thought and theology, he strove successfully to make of Mani an avatar of the Buddha and of Laozi. The understanding of Chinese Manichaeism must first begin with the study of Mahayana Buddhism, which acted as a theological vehicle for the religion of light. This is how Mani, like a Buddhist Arhat, pronounces the "formulas of refuge", understands the "four noble truths", the "five skandhas" and the "eightfold noble path". Like a bodhisattva, he realizes the void and the awakening, like the Buddha he reaches nirvana. Yet the originality of the text lies in the fact that in spite of its borrowings from Buddhism, the document, because of its radical dualism remains a Manichean writing, containing its own Pahlavi vocabulary and rises from the depth of the Iranian soul

Regarding his particular dependence and vulnerability, the exercise of this liberty by the child appears particularly weaken. Children’s rights are indeed threatened from all quarters, so much by public authority as by their family or by third parties, if not by the child himself. Parents, while being his first protectors and first “spiritual guides”, can also represent the first obstacle to the full exercise of the child’s freedom of religion, therefore raising a conflict between parental and children’s rights. It is to be noticed that the State establishes itselfs as the protector of the child whenever parents endanger him even in the name of religious beliefs. The judge might also intervene within family conflicts resulting from religious disagreements. Ensuring public order as well, the State will in some cases subject child’s and parents’ freedom of religion to limitations deemed necessary in regard to the primacy of a particular social interest such as the protection of secularism. It seems therefore essential to consider the question of the child’s religious freedom within the family sphere as well as, to a larger extent, within society, while questioning the effectivity of the right of the child to religious freedom. As for any subject relating to children’s rights, the search for balance between freedom and protection is engaged on a difficult path as evidenced by this study on the right of the child to religious freedom

This light-word phrase is based on a personal figure of Christ, human and vulnerable, but unfolds in all images by Rembrandt, self-portraits, portraits, landscapes and free subjects. The special status of the image compared to speech allows the representations to embody a theological specific aesthetic discourse, nurtured by many influences that can be identified by watching closely the images and the complex historical and theological context of the Netherlands in the seventeenth century. XIII) — and in particular the way in which Robert Grosseteste's ideas reach him — is still to be determined. The idea of a metaphorical and analogical use of light and its epistemic dimension makes it possible to evaluate better the theory of knowledge as light, that is, its actual amplitude, often reduced to the divine enlightenment of Man, both intellectual and moral. This knowledge of light, which makes it possible to consider knowledge as light through metaphor and analogy, and thus a whole epistemology by light, is verified in the cosmology and in the theory of beauty of the Friar Minor in which light plays indeed a principle-like and paradigmatic role. Finally, that all these philosophical and theological implications of light are recapitulated in Christ understood according to the Scriptures as splendor, sol iustitiae, lux mundi, an understanding clearly inspired by the reading of the fourth Gospel and the Book of Wisdom by Bonaventure, bachelor of the Bible, still needs to be elucidated. It is by seeking as much on the side of studies at the Faculty of Arts of Paris from 1235 to 1243 that on the writings of Bonaventure, as baccalaureus biblicus and then baccalaureus sententiarus, that the question of light in his work can be interpreted. For some, The Double joins psychological modalities expressed by the languages of being, and the diversity of these figurations are seen in both classic and modern tales, in multiple and prolific ways. These literary theories and their 1 typologies, should therefore be examined in relation to the traditional meanings of the Double, in orde to fully ml-'Jerstari.d the journey and find the axes that bring coherence to a diffracted enseri1ble. Duality, and the faces of the double will also be the object of a typological proposai combining these two aspects to define the trajectories of the double. Contrary to appearances, even though generally feared and frightening, night is a temporal space in which well known, key scenes are played out, scenes such as appearances of the Holy Grail or those where characters may give themselves over to dreams, meditation, love, or performing heroic feats appropriate to a nocturnal setting. The negative features of nighttime disappear, absorbed by the darkness which dominates shadowy places associated with the underworld (prisons, enchanted castles, cemeteries, tombs) or which dominates preternatural situations (characters bound in irons or tortured), all of which set challenges for the knights and represent so many steps in the process of their selection for even greater exploits. Through a methodical gathering of the extremely rich and nuanced vocabulary used in connection with nighttime and crepuscular moments, this study explores the full set of nocturnal or shadowy scenes and concludes with the tranquil space of a fictional night transformed by the magic of the Grail and by the act of writing

Pełny tekst źródłaThis analysis examines the relationship between art and spirituality through the juxtaposition of religious and verbal references in Malcolm de Chazal's works. Starting from obvious denotations, I then move onto more subtle connotations. The first part of my dissertation analyses the Mauritius context in which Malcolm de Chazal has composed his works. This section offers a detailed study of two types of corpus; a long one (3/4 of Chazal's works) and a shorter one, Sens-plastique, which has been the subject of serial analysis. My second and third chapters classify the numerous subisotopes from the religious/and/language isotopes, which reveal a metaphorical use of language. My point is that the two isotopes appear on both sides: that which compares and that which is compared. The fourth part shows the intrication of these two isotopes within the construction of Chazal's work itself. It assesses the many surrounding isotopes, especially the recurrent one of the /human body/. This part reveals more specifically the variety of metaphorical forms within Sens-plastique. The union of metaphors and antonomasias, antanaclases and syllepses put the 'signified' into motion, notably where god is signified. Language and the religious are placed within the natural order, which, in the process, becomes more human. Three "stylemes" organize the semiotic structure of the text: the relation one/multiple, the reversibility and tension between sacred/profane. I draw links between poetic language ('plasticisation') and constructions of meanings within the performative language used by de Chazal. In the light of the surrealist concept of "merveilleux" and the Buddhist notion of ku, I analyze the heuristic of Chazal's word which sends the reader back to his own relationships with the vibrant potentialities of the world. The metaphor, of which the flower is itself the metaphor, is, at the same time, the place and the model of the art and the religious, that is seen as a way to go beyond any limits. Mimicking life's dynamics, it serves a form of 'cosmic' humanism

Can we consider themyth of the Grail as a myth of a language lost, sought and finally regained? The adventure of evangelism in Estoire del Saint Grail and the Holy Grail in the Queste, inspired by theCrusades and the Franciscan missions, converge in a dynamic unity symbolized by the Grail,which prevents language . They tend to gather materials of a primordial chaos created underthe aegis of Babel. Chaos, and fragmentation of speech are followed by a unifying voice of aunique origin that orders the world by giving it a meaning. This unification of the speech: aunique speech, God’s speech, for one mouth, that of the Christian people, follows a pattern opposite to Babel. The Estoire does not track the dispersal of a damned people but represents the archetype of a well-managed exodus of a chosen people whose purpose is not to defy butto serve God ; Therefore God grants His people the privilege and the power of words. In the Queste, the beginning of the adventures of the knights of the round table on the day of Pentecost recalls the post-Babel reconciliation offered to the apostles in order to spread thegood word. Pentecost inaugurates the start of the quest for the Holy Grail and also theintroduction of a new voice, the voice of God’s messenger. From the beginning of the story,this new voice as a sign of mystical orientation, destroys any courtly legacy

Based on close readings and comparative analyses of several poems alongside their French translations, it highlights the inextricable nature of thought and movement. It also examines the essential role such movement plays in the poet's relationship to metaphysical concepts and to the spiritual reaim. What makes the « living metaphor » an enunciative dynamics fit for conveying the conjunctive aspirations or critical impulses of the poet's thought? What is at stake in the metaphysical exploration it carries out? To what extent can it be said that a « metaphysics of movement » shapes and animates Dickinson's poetics? This study shows that Emily Dickinson's metaphorical writing moves from a conception of metaphor inherited from mystical poetry and theology, in which metaphors are seen as bridges between the earthly and the celestial, to an approach in which metaphor serves as a force for re- describing reality and bringing about new referential relationships that give priority to creative imagination and the vitality of poetic language. It also points out the main formai legacy of Dickinson's metaphors. Pełny tekst źródłaLight is a recurring theme throughout Remembrance of Things Past - the magic lantern's importance is to be noted from the novel's beginning. Light is often used as a metaphor for artistic creation. Thus, I have chosen to study this motif focusing on light-induced patterns as well as how it becomes symbolic in the context of the novel. I will use lexicological and stylistic analysis to do so.I have first worked on words connected to creative light for which I will propose a semiasiological analysis including of the substantive light itself. I have also focused on some its para synonymous terms such as sun, moon, day, brightness, glow, lighting, shade, glint, beam...by looking for paradigms used instead in the novel.Secondly, I have examined whether some of light's properties – path sentences like rays of light ; transvertebration, stained glass window sentences - are part of the structure of Proust's sentences, since focus and fragmentation structure the author' insight into his world.Finally, I have selected literary devices - metaphors, syllepses and antanaclases in their stylistic function as well as some uses of the coordination conjunction and – and analysed them in so far as they convey the characteristics of light beyond the structure of sentences. The art of photography and its techniques are then shown metaphorically shedding light and interplaying with the art of Proust, the author of Remembrance of Things Past, progressively conjuring the image of photographice development process

Pełny tekst źródłaLebanon is known for its original and specific system relevant to its history and the Lebanese society is a pluralistic society made up of different communities, each having its own traditions, beliefs and organization. This pluralism permeates the various structures of the State, based on the balance of representation of communities. It also reflects on its legal system, which seeks to preserve the communities’ identities, mainly in matters of personal status where the traditional powers of the religious authorities are recognized by the State and ensured by civil effectiveness. However, religious pluralism and the prevalence of the religious in terms of civil status are considered "as an anachronism, as a brake retarding the growth of the State and the realization of the unity of the Nation". Thus, for the same cause and for the same reasons, the inhabitants of the same country, Lebanon, are judged differently, and sometimes in a contradictory manner as well, for the sole fact that they belong to such a religion and not to another. In marriage law, divorce, for the same reasons, may be legitimately granted to some and legitimately denied to others. Moreover, "based on truths often revealed, religious rights would be incapable of conveying the reforms that modern society calls for", in particular the liberalization of the right of divorce which explicitly retains only divorce-sanction and implicitly divorce-remedy due to illness only. The confrontation of the family rights of the divorce - Lebanese and French - will make it possible to highlight the differences which oppose them and the principles that underlie them and to see in what sense and to what extent a reform of the Lebanese law of the divorce is possible in the light of the French law of divorce, the civil law which has liberalized the conception of divorce

Pełny tekst źródłaThis work is an interpretation of the first two parts of The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri (1261-1321) from the symbolic meanings associated to light by the author. The objective is to demonstrate that through the representation of multiple light phenomena in Hell and in Purgatory , moral recovery designed for the reader is similar to a true conversion, a journey of the mind fleeing its error (darkness) in order to approach salvation (light) by stages.In the first part, the necessity to place part of the Christian eschatological space on earth is related to Dante’s vicissitudes that make him question the destiny of a humanity in distress. The error of the soul which has lost the good of the intellect, as well as its redemption, are evoked in the world of the living by the presence of the realm of eternal damnation (the infernal abyss) and a space for temporary penance (a high mountain). By crossing those two places of the afterlife, the protagonist escapes the dark forest and prepares to reach the illuminated colle. Thus he suggests a model of moral behavior through a symbolic interpretation of the luminous phenomena.In the second and third parts, the exemplarity attributed to the representation of light is made clear through the exceptional experience of the pilgrim, viator in the world of the dead : in Hell, the "poetics of fire " stages the evolution of consciousness : an awareness of the disastrous consequences of an unhealthy use of the intellect (ingegno) ; in Purgatory , the "poetry of heaven " traces the gradual release of a mind to which the signs of its election to the privilege of grace are revealed

A figure of shadow or darkness in the image that is also present as such. Black without representation and with its singular physical reality. This blackness is above all a technical condition which is hidden but which plays a decisive role in the production of optical illusions and the creation of fiction. It is also omnipresent in the entire process of making the cinematographic image. Black plays with light and conditions visibility and invisibility. In this sense it invents cinema. Black also offers another way of understanding what cinema is and how it works. This study will first deal with the material aspect of photography: photochemical blackening and the ideas it suggests as a process of image formation and dissolution. I will then portray the different effects produced by black- the black shape a rhetorical and mechanical tool. When it intervenes as a form in the image, of the image, and between the image. Finally, I will discuss how black can be an invading device of the screen and the projection space and reveal its role as a visual spectacle apparatus: the construction of an access to illusion and revelation. Each part of this outline will be dealt with in a historical, technical and aesthetic way. We will see in particular in artistic and experimental attempts that the emphasis on black makes it possible to reveal the characteristics of the cinematographic medium or even to re-invent cinema. Pełny tekst źródłaDisciple of Bulgarian Master Beinsa Douno (Peter Deunov) (1864-1944), Michaël Ivanoff (1900-1986) has been known under the name of Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov since 1960. Between 1938 and 1985, he taught a spiritual teaching on Light in France. This teaching was inspired by the Christian esoterism of the Johannist tradition, by Transcendentalism, Kabbalah, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and Buddhism. When Mikhaël Ivanoff returned from India in 1960 after a one-year trip, he developed the concept of the spiritual laser, transferring by analogy the physician Theodore Maiman’s recent discovery into a practice of individual and collective meditation on the spiritual Light, which would have the aim of awakening the consciousness of human beings all around the world. The present M. A. thesis studies the teachings on the spiritual Light, called Vidélina in Bulgarian, which were given by master Aïvanhov in the period 1938 to 1980, in the multireligious heritage where they come from. It also presents the practice of the spiritual laser that he created in 1962, through the review of his lectures and the participating observation of this practice from 1980 to 1995, then from 2011 to 2020 at three centers of the Universal White Brotherhood of this master. Finally this thesis draws the adequate conditions to ensure the continuity of this collective spiritual practice.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe Church is also referred to as “body of Christ”, especially in Pauline epistles. It is almost analogous to a living organism. Therefore, its growth should naturally result from its health. But the Church in the West is facing a numerical stagnation and even a demographic decrease. What is fundamentally at issue is the ecclesial vitality and the ability to keep followers, but also to attract new members. The question of ecclesial ministry, which was very popular in the domains of exegesis and history of the Christianity in the 1970s and 1980s, was abandoned for 20 years. This question deserves to be retaken for reasons that are not only cyclical, but theological and ecclesiological. Nowadays the widely present ministerial plurality in the early Church is reduced to a pastoral monolithic. This thesis intends to put the question of ecclesial ministry foreground with a new perspective inspired from the hermeneutic approach and the method of rhetorical analysis. In order to provide avenues for the identification and development of mechanisms for the integral growth of the Church, we spotted in the light of a rhetorical analysis of two major texts of the Pauline corpus (1 Cor 12-14 and Ep 4:1-16), the vital functional needs of the ecclesial body and the fundamental principles that are embodied in the edification of the New Testament churches and that the apostles endorsed themselves. The general conclusions from this study are: (1) the Church has an organic structure and its growth is due to the effective and efficient implementation of various spiritual gifts; (2) the Church has a functional edification mechanism by which the ministers of the Word equippe all believers to make them able to accomplish ecclesial ministry and to edify the entire ecclesial community; (3) the edification of the Church is doing by continuously professing the evangelical truth in love, endeavoring to keep the unity and doing all things for the edification of the community and for the sole glory of Christ the Lord; (4) the edification of the Church goes through four growth targets: the unity of the faith, the unity of the knowledge of the Son of God, the accomplished statesman, the measure of the fullness of Christ. We build, from the intuitions spotted, a Pauline model for Church edification.
