Surrounded by a legend that grew around him during his lifetime, the figure of the writer has often served as a foil for his work. Today, this same legend makes it difficult to understand the writer's trajectory within the literary field. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the trajectory of Jean Richepin within the literary field during his period of activity (1865-1926), by taking a critical look at the media representations of the writer's character. Furthermore, this work aims to retrace Jean Richepin's journey in order to identify the key stages and question the blind spots in his literary production

Literature creates autonomous universes whose impossibility is the body, and therefore the action. However it draws its inspiration from the reality that is its only limit. Then in the reconstruction operated by literature upon real, traces of history may be found. As regards historiography it may appear as a partial account, following from many selections of documents by the historian, himself under influence of his time, and the power he is governed by: the official history, in many respects is an artificial construction. In Argentina, during the second half of the XXth century, the military governments suspended the writing of History. Argentinean contemporary novels preserve collective memory evoking facts that military power gets disappear from History. Moreover, as national literature has emerged in the 50’s, its becomes a mean of preservation for the national identity, that stood up to the misuse and distorting of History by the power, and Europe’s conquering writing of History

A cultured writer, painter, and critic, he dedicated his life to conveying through the use of the pen and the brush his passion for travelling in faraway countries. His literary works include two travel books (Un été dans le Sahara and Une année dans le Sahel), a psychological and autobiographic novel (Dominique), and a critical analysis of the 16th century Flemish school of painting ( Les Maîtres d'autrefois). As a painter, he was best known for his orientalist artwork and the visual translation of his travel experiences in Algeria on canvas. This thesis examines the correspondence between the narrative and the plastic domains of Fromentin within the orientalist artistic context of painters and writers of themid-19th century. This includes the influence of the Romantic and Realist schools on Fromentin's literary work and the placement of his work within the framework of his contemporaries, such as François-René de Chateaubriand and Gustave Flaubert. George Sand also played a significant role in Fromentin's literary life. As a painter, Fromentin's primary influences were the painter Louis-Nicolas Cabat, the Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix, and the Dutch School. Subsequently, Fromentin's literary works and paintings reflect the intersection of these influences and the expression of visual and literary links unique to this master.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe present study deals with the transformation of the fairy-tale generic models in the swedish hildrens' literature during the period of the 19th - 20th cent. , and the relationship betwee tthe li- terary fairy-tale and its' "ancestor", the folktale. The first chapter considers the collections of folktales by the brothers grimm, asbjornsen and moe, hylten-cavalius et stephens, and shows the transformation of an oral folktale into a written text which means the folktales' integration into literature. The second chapter describes how the traditional model was used by h. -c. Ander- sen in his fairy-tales; the third chapter relates how the type of fairy-tale created by h. -c. Andersen was assimilated in sweden and developed by authors like w. A. Backman and z. Topelius. The forth chapter describes the most prolific period in the history of the li- terary fairy-tale in sweden (end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th cent. ) and examines some of the recurrent narrative mechanisms. The fifth chapter contains a detailed analysis of two important writers of this period, e. Beskow and s. Lagerlof, whose tales offer a good example of the genre's acquisitions and its latent problems. The sixth

My purpose consists in studying the whole of the epic work of erwin strittmatter (1912-1994) through his relationship with readers, in order to give an account of this difference in success. A first observation established according to the judgments found in the press is then confronted with a new reading of the work. The writings are related to a + horizon of expectation ; characteristic of the german democratic republic : they describe temporal, spatial and human spheres that are specific to strittmatter's vision of this country. It appears all the same that the link with the reader is first of all established on the foundations of the work, which is strongly orientated towards communication and community. The bases of this community are the perception of nature, play with the narrator (autobiography), and a heritage which is shared by east german readers and which strittmatter uses to his own ends. This literature of a precise spatial area nevertheless has an open perspective as can be seen from the intertextual relations between the thought and the themes of related authors

It is the result of a double approach : on groundwork (such as of art which constituted the course during the recent period); that art of the analytical area applied to modern art (such as art as interpreted during the last three decades). Foreseeing the direction of art between the sixties and the last years of the twentieth century, this study deals with three big areas. In developing the criteria for modernity, the avantgarde and of postmodernity, increasingly delineating the figure of the artist in mutation, the first part examines these by cataloguing the historical foundations of contemporary art. As descriptive as it is analytical, the second part presents the art of the end of the twentieth century, in all the diversity of its components and evolutions : + neo-painting ;, three dimensional art in all its forms, creations at the heart of technology, aesthetic, social intervention, untidy representations of + nearly nothing ;. A last part is dedicated to examining the relationships between modern art and institutions, relationships seen as cutting across near cardinal areas in the integration and entry of art in the economy of the political cultural patrimony. Keeping equally to investigation, classification and analysis, this work has the authority to affirm : contemporary art is by no means the laboured continuity of modern art, but is rather a sign of it undeniable inventiveness, a notable capacity in assimilating as much as recycling its environment. Pełny tekst źródłaThis study has a general goal to analyse and to describe the Revista Litteraria Orgam do Gabinete de Leitura de Maroim" published between 1890 and 1891, in period of eight months as a struggle strategy by a group of intellectuals which belonged to the Cabinet and where at opposite endes to the publics government, regarding their cultural and politic representations. From the informations within the content and the typographic as well as the material resourses of the whole thirty-four editions in the process of prodution, circulation and apropriation it was not only posibile to acknowledge the profile of the authors which were more present but also the educational aim of the Cabinet, whish was in accordance to the concepts of apropriation, representation and materiality proposed by Roger Chartier, and to the Indictary Method proposed by Carlo Ginzburg. The analysis of textual corpus detected literaries produtions, discussions about New Pedagogy, scientificism, woman education, and politics inspired in republican beliefs. The ideological discussions caused the typography, where the magazine was printed, to close.
Este estudo tem como objetivo geral descrever e analisar a Revista Litteraria Orgam do Gabinete de Leitura de Maroim , que circulou entre os anos de 1890 e 1891, durante um período de oito meses, como estratégia de luta de um grupo de negociantes e intelectuais ligados ao Gabinete que fazia oposição aos poderes públicos, na imposição de suas representações culturais e políticas. A partir de informações contidas no conteúdo e nos recursos materiais e tipográficos das 34 edições, no processo de produção, circulação e apropriação, foi possível conhecer o perfil dos autores mais presentes e a proposta pedagógica da Revista, partindo dos conceitos de apropriação, representação e materialidade de Roger Chartier e do Método Indiciário de Carlo Ginzburg. A análise do corpus textual detectou obras literárias, discussões acerca da Nova Pedagogia, cientificismo, educação da mulher e política, inspirados nos ideais republicanos. Os embates ideológicos foram a causa do fechamento da tipografia onde a revista era impressa.

Galet's synchronic study of the verbo-adverbial correlations, it has now become necessary to consider, through the diachronic study, the gradual linguistic gap between the passe simple and some adverbial phrases expressing time. The present dissertation considers the period extending from the xvii century through the xix century and it is limited to the epistolary genre from etienne pasquier to victor hugo. It focuses on two major objectives: a) to show how the results of the counting obtained mainly through the frantext data can help date as accurately as possible the use of these adverbial phrases expressing time with the passe compose rather than with the passe simple. B) to attempt to discover and to elucidate factors that provoked this linguistic evolution. The distributional method adopted in this study helps to avoid the subjectivity with which contemporary readers view these ancient texts

The type of litterature that has been termed "modernist", owing to its often arresting originalty, helps us to account for certain characteristics of the english society over the period. Pełny tekst źródłaIs it possible to teach pupils the constraints of written expression ? how can we manage this ? the art and practice of essay writing has always tried answering part of these questions, the solution of which is the pre-requisite of mastering language in secondary schools. This habit has been imposed by reasoning from a point of reference and by the precedent of a model to which the pupils have previously been initiated. The first model referred to the literary language and had recourse to its imitiation. The working language was latin. The pupils - or at least some of them - were eventually supposed to be able to write a play in latin verses and a latin speech. The second model which is still ours since it constitutes the base of official pedagogy, such as it has been codified in "official instructions", has chosen the french language and built up a whole methodology which has known - and still knows - nothing but failure. This is the crisis faced by french, denounced since the beginning of this century and for which a solution is being sought in vain. The after- 1968 spirit has popularised a model known under the name of creativity. It claims to be successful and has quickly become part of the official pedagogy. Two fundamental procedures have sprung from these models: - an analytical one which has benefited from the pre-eminence of sciences. The cyborg enables us to draw a parallel between the connections that exist today between books and hypermedia, and the relationships - made up of fears and fantasies - that people have with the technologies they create. Cyborg literature does not propose works within which books and hypermedia are opposed, but works born from the reunion of two material supports, thus offering a media hybridization of the literary text. New media have to be appreciated as a motor of evolution rather than as a threat. Indeed, contemporary literary and books have to take up the challenge imposed by new media. The book is at the core of our problematic. We have to consider it as a medium for text, a medium that is not neutral and that holds its own characteristics and potential. New media offer an opportunity to reevaluate the book in its material dimension which is no longer the only medium for text: our daily reading practices, between books and screens, prove it

The intention is then to show that if these detective novels can be analyzed with the tools of literary analysis, these novels can then be considered literary works and their authors as writers in their own right. The corpus contains the main novels of four authors spread over the last four decades of the twentieth century: Jean-Patrick Manchette, Frederick H. Fajardie, Didier Daeninckx and Tonino Benacquista. The tools selected for analysis are those related to novels characters, the places in which these novels take place and different types of plots offered by the authors. This is the work of Yves Reuter, Isabelle Krzywkowski and Paul Larivaille. These authors have allowed the analysis of selected texts and also allowed the author to confront these same texts to literary analysis tools in academic use.Thus literary analysis produced by the author allows him to advance the idea that the texts of detective novels, being analyzed with these tools, can be part of the regular corpus of literature

Lots of images presented in these manuals are being used as documents for pedagogical aim or objectives for learning activities. Especially, press photographs, research subject in this study, which are considered as a means of communication, can indeed attract learners’ attention. Besides their informative function, they have another mission, a vehicle for cultural messages, which represent differences between French culture and Vietnamese culture through symbols and cultural implicites. The study concerns 46 textbooks published between 1994 and 2015 and proposes the qualitative analysis of 284 images of press. Aiming to propose a new look at the reality of editorial modality, we have analyzed the press photographs in which cultural connotations are evoked, which are difficult for learners from another culture to comprehend

Pełny tekst źródłaIn spite of a wide range of studies, the chancellor of the university of Paris Jean Gerson (1363-1429) remains quite unknow as a litterary author and his texts are mainly read in a theological or historical way. Thus, this study will focuse on a rhetorical and stylistic approach of the texts so that they can be understood in a litterary frame. Allegorical devices, images but also auctorial strategies are some of the elements that show the integration of court culture in the homely. In the same time, we will try to consider in a new way Jean Gerson’s role and place in the intellectual context of late Middle Ages
