Streszczenie:
This study focused on differences in the monitored quality indicators of roe deer venison depending on the region of the Czech Republic where roe deer are hunted. Quality of roe deer venison was evaluated based on pH values, colour (CIEL*a*b* system) and chemical composition (content of haem pigments, dry matter, pure protein, collagen and fat). Samples of muscle from the leg (m. gluteus medius) were taken from 22 female roe deer (Capreolus capreolus L.) from two hunting regions (Liberec and South Moravia) in the Czech Republic. In roe deer from Liberec, higher pH value (5.65, P < 0.001) was found; muscles were darker (L* = 36.03), contained higher redness (a* = 14.41, P < 0.001) and yellowness values (b* = 12.10) and higher chroma (C* = 18.86). In roe deer from South Moravia, higher (P < 0.05) hue (h°) values, and higher level of haem pigments (2.45 mg·g-1) were found. Muscles from roe deer from South Moravia contained higher amounts of dry matter (29.52%, P < 0.001), pure protein (23.84%, P < 0.001) and total collagen (0.86%), and lower amounts of intramuscular fat (0.48%). These results may provide an important source of information for consumers of roe deer meat because several differences in the quality (chemical composition) of muscles from South Moravian region and Liberec region were found. Presumably, the differences between muscles from animals living in two different Czech regions were due to the diet, form of land use (more agricultural land in Southern Moravia, and forests and mountains in Liberec) and climatic conditions (Liberec lies in the northern part of the Czech Republic). It is the first study of this topic in the Czech Republic.

AbstractThe contribution aims at determining the endogenous potential for a proposal for sustainability and potential development of tourist destinations located in the Czech border areas - Liberec region - that lag behind in rural development. Based on the results of the empirical research, according to optimal scaling the ASEB-C analysis is applied suggesting the LAC (Limits of Acceptable Change) planning system will improve sustainability and competitiveness of all LAU 1 (in the Liberec region) and of the specific touristic destinations. The potential of development in the Czech border areas is in the stagnation phase, due to the fear and (dis)embedded identity in some less developed border areas. It should be evident that even in the Czech rural border areas the potential of “growth of endogenous potentials seems feasible” in combination with an endogenous and exogenous model of regional rural development.

Abstract The article presents the population problem of urban functional area around selected medium-sized cities in Poland and the Czech Republic. Research work refers to six cities (on the Polish side - Jelenia Góra, Legnica and Wałbrzych – located in Lower Silesia region; on the Czech side - Hradec Králové, Liberec and Ústí nad Labem). These core cities with suburban areas co-create the functional urban areas with varied demographic structure and development dynamics. In the analysed period, the population growth was observed only in Liberec. The largest total population among studied areas refers also to Liberec functional urban area. The population in suburban areas of the examined Polish and Czech cities is relatively younger than in the core cities. Functional approach for development of urban areas founding depart from perception of demographic problem and challenges only by prism of administrative borders becomes more important.

The paper deals with spatial analysis of the shopping centers according to individual regions in Czech Republic. The centers over 10 000 m2 were identified with their total retail space and gravitational model was utilized to determine the break point between two competing regions – the point at which a person residing in an intermediate community would be likely to travel to one region rather than the other. Next part is aimed to calculation of saturation indicators. First one is coefficient of shopping centers saturation – measured like portion of retail space in all shopping centers per capita in each region (the average in Czech Republic is 0,115 m2·cap−1.; the lowest ratio was determined in South-Bohemian region – 0,033 and next is Karlovy Vary – 0,035; Hradec Králové – 0,049 and Vysočina – 0,048 regions; the highest ratio was determined in Liberec region – 0,275 and next is Central-Bohemian including Prague – 0,253; South-Moravian – 0,182 and Plzen – 0,157 regions). The second one is index of retail saturation – the population of the region is multiplied by the monthly expenditure on the goods and services the retailer wants to sell in shopping centers and this is divided by the total retail space in all shopping centers in the given region (the average in Czech Republic is 77 094,77 CZK·(m2)−1; the same rank was determined – the highest index in South-Bohemian region – 175 909 and the lowest index in Liberec region – 20 224). The main result is comparison of regions according to their shopping centers saturation and recommendation to possible investors, developers and retailers where is the best site to invest and build a new complex of retail stores according to given indicators of spatial analysis.

The main goal is analysis of the influence of subsidies on the economic performance of farms in individual regions since the Czech Republic joined the EU. The basis for verification of the hypotheses was data from the Farm Accountancy Data Network of the Czech Republic (FADN CR) broken down by regions. The economic performance of farms is determined here on the basis of six selected proportional indicators of financial analysis and their statistical processing using the WSA and TOPSIS methods. By both the WSA and the TOPSIS methods, in 2004–2010 the farms in the Karlovy Vary Region and in the last monitored year (2011) the farms in the Southern Moravia Region were identically evaluated as having the best economic performance. In 2004 the WSA method identified the farms with the worst economic performance as being in Vysočina, while the TOPSIS method rated the Ústí nad Labem Region as having the farms with the worst performance. In 2005–2006, both methods identically put the Pilsen Region in last place for economic performance of farms, while in 2007 the farms in Liberec Region and again in 2008 the farms in Pilsen Region were in last place. In 2009 the WSA and TOPSIS methods identically identified the farms with the worst economic performance as being in the South Bohemia Region. During 2010–2011 the two methods agreed that the farms with the worst economic performance were in Pilsen Region. Economic performance of farms in the regions Ústí nad Labem, Pardubice, Vysočina, Central Bohemia, Hradec Králové, South Moravia, Ostrava, and Olomouc, and also vertical economic performance of farms is dependent on the amount of subsidies received. On the other hand, for economic performance of farms in the Liberec, Pilsen, and Karlovy Vary regions, this dependence must be refuted. The assumption that the Common Agricultural Policy contributes towards the reducing of economic disparities between farms in the individual regions of the Czech Republic, has been confirmed only by the TOPSIS method in absolute expression. Nonetheless, by the WSA method in absolute and relative expression and by the TOPSIS method in relative expression, it must be refuted.

This paper focuses on regional differences between the regions of the Czech Republic. We will focus on observation of inequalities between indicators of living in different regions of the Czech Republic. The indicators are evaluated at NUTS 3 (regions), using multivariate statistical techniques - factor analysis and cluster analysis. We have identified the twelve indicators of living standards. Base data was reduced using factor analysis on the three emerging factors: 1) basic characteristics, 2) risk groups, 3) environmental variable. Cluster analysis was compiled groups of regions with similar characteristics. Cluster analysis of the breakdown of the county into three clusters based on selected indicators of living standards. They can be described as a group with higher average and lower standard of living. In the first cluster are only two regions (Liberec Region and Karlovy Vary), the third cluster is composed of Prague and the second cluster includes all other regions of the Czech Republic. To verify the evidence of differences between clusters were calculated by multivariate analysis of variance for the various indicators of living standards. An analysis of variance indicates that significant differences between clusters are caused by the standard of living indicators: GDP (regional), the average wage of women, medical equipment, culture entertainment and recreation, higher education, the disabled handicapped and older people. The data were processed in the program STATISTICA 10th.

Tourism is a significant contributor to the social and economic growth of countries and regions. As such, developing tourism is a crucial element in enhancing a country's economic efficiency. In Europe, the Czech Republic stands as one of the most alluring and well-established countries. Thanks to its abundant natural, recreational, historical, and cultural resources, it has fostered a fiercely competitive tourism industry. The commonness of historical, natural, social, and economic developmental conditions between Czechia and Ukraine establishes similar prerequisites for tourism development. An analysis of Czech tourism development, including identification of the country's tourism traits and trends, enables the adoption of Czech tourism organization experience and practical application in Ukraine. The present article examines the current state of tourism development in Czechia. The analyses the development of the tourist infrastructure in the country. It examines the dynamics of the collective means of tourist accommodation in the Czech Republic. The analysis focuses on the dynamics of tourist arrivals to the Czech Republic, characterizing the structure of tourist flows. The geospatial features of tourist flows are considered, and the dynamics of the volume of income from foreign tourism are analysed. Tourism plays a significant role in the economics of the Czech Republic. The contribution of tourism to the country's GDP remains below its pre-COVID-19 levels. However, in 2022, the tourism industry of the country started to recuperate from the pandemic. As compared to 2021, the number of tourists escalated by 8 million in 2022. Majority of the tourists arrived in the Czech Republic for recreational and cultural purposes, as well as to meet their relatives and for business agendas. The Czech Republic received the majority of its foreign tourists from Germany, Slovakia, and Poland. The domestic tourist share in the country's overall tourist flow is 62,3 %, while the foreign tourist share is 37,7 %. The country is currently investing significantly in transport infrastructure by modernizing its railway network and expanding the capacity of its airports. The provision and standard of accommodation play a vital role in the appeal of tourist destinations, and the Czech Republic has seen a consistent rise in the quantity of lodging options. An appreciable increase in the number of shared lodging facilities was observed in the Czech Republic over the period of 2020–2022. South Bohemian, Hradec Královе and South Moravian regions boast the highest number of accommodation facilities, while Pardubice and Vysočina regions have the lowest. The city of Prague, along with South Bohemian and South Moravian regions, is home to the largest number of rooms in collective accommodation facilities. The Czech Republic boasts a thriving restaurant industry that has seen a steady increase in the number of establishments. The country's tourism is characterized by uneven geographic distribution. Notably, the largest number of tourist arrivals are recorded in Prague, South Moravian, Hradec Královе, and South Bohemian regions. According to the analysis, the regions adjacent to Prague also exhibited a significant appeal to tourists. This trend might be clarified by tourists who visit Prague tend to extend their routes to neighbouring regions, particularly in Central Bohemian, Liberec, and Hradec Královе regions. Conversely, regions situated far from the capital draw a substantial number of visitors. This could suggest the existence of exceptional tourism services that entice travellers. The Czech Republic has high tourism densities, with Prague having the highest observed density due to the influx of tourists into a relatively small area. Karlovy Vary, Liberec, and Hradec Královе regions also have high tourism densities. In 2022, foreign tourism generated revenues of 1 billion USD for the country. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, foreign tourism revenues decreased by 62,5 % in 2020. The Czech Republic is known for its conventional health and wellness, cultural and educational tourism. Keywords: tourism, tourist arrivals, collective accommodation, tourists, Czechia.

Systematic spatial risk analysis plays a crucial role in preventing emergencies. In the Czech Republic, risk mapping is currently based on the risk accumulationprinciple, area vulnerability, and preparedness levels of Integrated Rescue Systemcomponents. Expert estimates are used to determine risk levels for individualhazard types, while statistical modelling based on data from actual incidents andtheir possible causes is not used. Our model study, conducted in cooperation withthe Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic as a model within the Liberec andHradec Králové regions, presents an analytical procedure leading to the creation ofbuilding fire probability maps based on recent incidents in the studied areas andon building parameters. In order to estimate the probability of building fires, aprediction model based on logistic regression was used. Probability of fire calculatedby means of model parameters and attributes of specific buildings can subsequentlybe visualized in probability maps.

Internal migration is one of the possible ways to reduce unemployment within the country. The aim of this paper is to compare the volume of internal migration between NUTS II regions in the Czech Republic and Austria and to try to identify factors that act to the migration flows. The results show that Austria is characterized by increased internal migration, international migration, as well as commuting to work in another region. Since the Czech Republic all these indicators lagging behind, it is necessary to determine whether the internal migration of both states is influenced by the same factors. Specifically, the paper examined the relationship of interregional migration and the average disposable income, unemployment rate, number of vacancies, the size and distance of regions, using the method of multiple linear regression analysis. While in the Czech Republic the internal migration is motivated by economic factors, in Austria, the relationship of migration and selected variables was not confirmed. The paper finds that residents of Austria are more active in terms of migration, but this move has obviously other than economic incentives.

The pukl, commonly called dudy, is a bellow-blown bagpipe whose origin and development can be traced to older forms known as grosser Bock and polnischer Bock. The instrument is an important feature in the identity of Chodsko, an ethonographic region of West Bohemia. This thesis shows the significance of the pukl in Chodish tradition through its organology, pedagogy, performance practice, and history. Through the novel Psohlavci, Alois Jirásek offered a footing for reinforcement of Chodish traditions. The thesis argues that a succession of makers, performers, teachers, institutions, and events have woven a web of tradition in which the pukl holds a significant position. Supporting evidence is shown from artworks that are visible to the public as well as decoration on the instrument. Selected from the Chodish canon, the beloved song, ‘Zelený hájové’, illustrates the use of the dialect and ornamentation as being indicative of the region. Two DVDs, The Call of Dudy and Zelený Hájové …, and a glossary of Chodish terms together with a catalogue of field recordings are included.

A growing global energy demand resulting from an ever increasing world population and scale of economic activity poses one of the world's main challenges for the future. The consequences of this rise in population and economic development include, among others, 'excessive' fossil fuel energy consumption and increasing greenhouse gas emissions. The use of renewable energy sources (RES) can help to mitigate this pressure on energy demand. In connection with this, the European Union's climate policy strategy, in tandem with a reduction in greenhouse gases (GHGs), presses for the development of renewable energy. The generation of renewable energy, in particular biomass, contributes to economic development through the creation of employment opportunities. In particular, rural regions with limited development opportunities can benefit from renewable energy production and dissemination. European rural border regions are disadvantaged primarily because of their location, poor infrastructure and smaller populations. Border regions with a significant division of agricultural land and forest, however, can benefit from the increase of biomass and bioenergy generation. There are, nevertheless, many barriers associated with bioenergy development in general, and in cross-border regions in particular. Despite the fact that they are a unique category and require special consideration there is almost an academic void in respect of research focusing on renewable energy linked to border regions. This research addresses the following key aspects: the crucial factors required for bioenergy dissemination and the special characteristics of European border regions, and analyzes stakeholders ' perceptions along the bioenergy supply chain. Using the two-phase design inspired by Barton and Lazarsfeld (1984) in a mixed research design, semi-structured expert interviews and online/offline surveys were conducted with stakeholders based in the border regions between Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany, with their opinions measured using a Likert scale questionnaire. Both strands of data collection delivered similar perceptions, especially in the case of the stakeholders ' motivation for biomass use and bioenergy generation, in addition to differing assessments regarding the barriers for the growing of biomass, and bioenergy generation - mainly prompted by the diverse economic and legal envi ronments in each country. Among other findings, the study identified the fact that current market barriers resulting mostly from different financial incentives could be reduced if, at a European level, the various financial incentives were harmonized. In addition, common sustainable standards for bioenergy generation are required, in order to support the sustainable use of biomass and bioenergy generation. Moreover, the intensification of the transfer of knowledge and communication between cross-border parties, with the support of regional energy agencies, seems to be necessary, in order to improve knowledge of market opportu nities across border regions, and hence reduce the transaction costs in relation to bioenergy cooperation.

The aim of my thesis Cohesion and Regional Policy of the EU and its influence over the Region of Pardubice is to find out if the subjects from the Region of Pardubice have learnt to use the financial means from the funds of the EU and to benefit from them to realizing their projects which they could not probably execute only with use of their financial sources. At first I am concerned with the development of this policy since the time when six european countries have started to cooperate, this cooperation was found advantageous and was getting deeper and wider, till present programming period 2007 - 2013. The second chapter is focused on the Czech Republic which has been involved in using of financial means from the fund for the pre-entry help already during the existence of Czechoslovakia and then other using of the funds of the EU for pre-entry help followed. On the 1st May 2004 the Czech Republic gained the EU membership and since then the Czech Republic has been engaged in the Cohesion and Regional Policy of the EU. By entry to the EU the Czech Republic has won more financial means which the Czech Republic can use. I was interested in operational programmes which have taken place in the Czech Republic and distribution of the financial means assigned for the Czech Republic. The third chapter is aimed at the Region of Pardubice, its characteristics, I focus on the operational programmes which are significant for this region, I am interested in the biggest applicants and realized projects. In conclusion I can say that the subjects from the Region of Pardubice have learnt to use the financial means from the funds of the EU for their development and realization of their projects. There is some possibility to improve using the financial means from some operational programmes, the example can be improvement of the using financial means of operational programme Research and Development for Innovations. The most significant applicants for the financial supports from the funds of the EU in the Region of Pardubice are the Region of Pardubice, city Pardubice, Employment office in Pardubice, University of Pardubice, towns Ústí nad Orlicí, Svitavy, Chrudim, Králíky. The combination of non-invasive methods and written historical and map sources brought a lot of new information about the phenomena of enclosed medieval villages in the region of South Moravia. The research revealed how the village’s ground plan looked like, how it evolved, what the possible function of the village’s ditch enclosure was, what it may have looked like, or how and from where this type of settlement got into this region. The magnetic survey also indicated from what materials the individual village houses could have been built. The research also resulted in new information on the transformation of the settlement network in the investigated region in the Middle Ages.

AbstractThe period of the pandemic crisis in the Czech Republic significantly reflected the uncertainty of the time. It was characterized by the loss of the guarantee for the services of non-governmental non-profit organizations, which the public will demand and accept in the future. The period coincided with financial impacts on the running of these organizations, declining public confidence, and declining interest from supporters. The presented study, based on the secondary and mainly primary data reflecting the attitude of non-governmental non-profit organizations of the Zlin Region based on quantitative research aimed at the communication of organizations during the pandemic, has once again confirmed the still-persistent shortcomings demonstrably requiring necessary changes leading to the efficiency of the current form of communication on a professional basis. One of the ways to offer a solution to the ongoing unhappiness is the intensive cooperation of non-governmental non-profit organizations with students of marketing communications, as documented explicitly by the collaboration of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomas Bata University in Zlin in cooperation with the Zlin Region, which enables significant assistance in the professionalization of non-governmental non-profit organizations’ communication in continuity with development of the Zlin Region on the one hand. On the other hand, it strengthens the interest in non-commercial marketing among university students in continuity with their future professional classification.

This paper aims to explain the use of the local referendum (as a tool of direct democracy) in the Czech Republic at the regional level. Using interregional comparison and descriptive statistics, the paper explains the evolution and the use of this tool and shows in which years this tool of direct democracy was used most often. More specifically, the paper tries to analyse while there have been significant changes in use of local referendum in long-term. Furthermore, the paper focuses on the degree of usage of referendums and development in individual years. On this basis, it shows whether there have been any developments on the effectiveness of the use of the local referendum in the context of the usage. Finally, the individual regions are compared, but not in the number of referendums carried out, but in the number of binding referendums. This shows that in some regions the local referendums are used much less, as they are usually not successful here (the capital city of Prague and the Liberec Region). The paper shows that the use of local referendum differs significantly from region to region, but in general it can be stated that usage of the referendum instrument is very effective. And if referendums in each region fails, they future use significantly decreases.

This article presents the topic of Fairtrade Town certification, the conditions associated with obtaining it and the potential for its holders. Quantitative research was carried out on the example of a selected Czech town in order to determine the awareness of the town and its surrounding area about the Fairtrade label as such and the potential willingness and interest to support the town's application for Fairtrade Town certification. Furthermore, a benchmarking analysis of existing Czech Fairtrade towns was prepared. The results of the research were then used for suggestions that can help the selected town to become a successful applicant for Fairtrade Town certification and for other Czech towns as a possibility to steer their future, taking into account the implementation of sustainable development goals, where the Fairtrade issue clearly belongs. The results of the research have shown that the residents of the town, and in their perception the town as such, are not yet ready for the process of Fairtrade Town certification and its active implementation. However, due to the growing interest in this topic and the marketing and communication activities of various stakeholders, it can be expected that in the short or medium term the selected town will be able to apply for Fairtrade Town certification.

In 2004 the Czech and Slovak Republics became part of the European Union, which brought many changes influencing the financial markets, including the insurance industry. Czech, Slovak, and European markets are constantly evolving, and they respond to the changes in the environment in which they operate. Given these facts, the paper focuses on analysing the interdependence of the insurance market in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, and the EU insurance market (the EU average) and on identifying the conditions of this dependence. The successfully functioning financial sector has a significant positive impact on economic growth; for this reason, the paper will pay attention to the issue of how insurance influences economic growth. To capture the insurance market, many insurance indicators can be used, among which are, in particular, gross premiums written, insurance penetration and density. In comparing the development of the insurance market in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and other European countries or the EU average, it is necessary to select the appropriate indicator given. The development of the global insurance market and the individual insurance markets is influenced not only by events in the world economy (economic development, development of the financial markets, the impact of economic or financial crisis), but it is also influenced by many factors that can be divided into two groups according to how on the insurance market act. In our article, we will focus mainly on extrinsic factors. Data for the analyses were drawn from SwissRe (Sigma journal), Eurostat and OECD databases.

Streszczenie:
The Czech Republic boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the European Union, indicating a demand-supply imbalance in the labour market. This situation has implications for other labour market-related variables, such as nominal wages and labour productivity. In 2021, there was a significant increase in the inflation rate, reaching 15.1%. This development also impacted the trajectory of real wages. This article uses statistical analysis to predict the future economic trends of essential macroeconomic indicators related to the labour market. The dependence of individual variables on the unemployment rate will be determined through correlation analysis. Additionally, the study aims to assess the degree of independence between the unemployment rate and selected economic indicators, including nominal wages, labour productivity, real wages, and inflation. Future developments will be forecasted based on linear time series regression models for each examined variable. The statistical results will be economically interpreted in light of the current economic situation. Overall, the results of the correlation analysis indicate a significant statistical relationship between unemployment and nominal wages, suggesting a strong negative correlation between these variables. This finding aligns with macroeconomic expectations that an increase in unemployment leads to a decrease in the rate of nominal wage growth. The correlation analysis between unemployment and inflation reveals a moderate indication of a negative relationship between the two variables. However, the correlation analysis between unemployment and labour productivity and between unemployment and real wages indicates weak and insufficient evidence of any significant relationship between these variables. Therefore, further analyses and consideration of additional factors are necessary to obtain a more comprehensive and reliable understanding of these relationships.

EU countries are trying to rationalise the processing of many agendas at both international and national level. The holy grail being sought is the digitisation of all available agendas.. In our paper, we address the issues of wages of workers who work in the field of information and communication technologies - ICT Professionals. We deal with the development of their number in the Czech economy over the last five years and also with the development of their nominal wages. In addition, we also look at the issue of gender pay gap in ICT. For the data analysis, we used a set of surveys for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs on wages, which are conducted annually by Trexima Ltd. For data analysis we used mainly MS Excel tools - statistical functions and Python as well. The results show that the number of ICT Professionals in the Czech economy is permanently growing. The identified wage growth trends show that wages are growing fastest for ICT Manager and ICT Specialists positions - here the growth is faster than the overall wage growth in the Czech Republic. For ICT Technicians, although wages show an increasing trend, but it is lower than the wage growth trend in the Czech economy. In the Gender Pay Gap question, we concluded that it is minimal for ICT Professionals in public and state administration, but still very high in the business sphere. A positive phenomenon is that the Gender Pay Gap is decreasing permanently.

The attention to environmental protection, sustainability, CSR, circular economy, and other related concepts became increasingly important to economies and their businesses nowadays, especially at the EU level. The upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD, Directive 2022/2464) which requires many businesses to report on sustainability, is a good example. In the Czech Republic, many large companies are already publishing their non-financial reports voluntarily or obligatorily. The presented research focuses on the Circular Economy (CE) concept and aims to asses, whether CE-related topics can be found in these types of reports. Thus, 50 large companies were selected and the level of their CE-related information in non-financial reports was assessed. Additionally, the overall assessment of the existence of these reports was made. Each company was given the evaluation score according to the amount of CE-related information published in its non-financial report or on the website. The results show that reports can bring necessary CE-related information, especially Sustainability reports or Corporate Social Responsibility reports. However, the quality of the non-financial reports depends on the fact whether organizations obligatorily publish them due to Directive 2014/95/EU or expect the obligation due to Directive (EU) 2022/2464. Those organizations that do not have to follow these directives do not publish almost any CE-related information.

The paper focuses on selected Czech and Brazilian financial accounting systems issues. These two systems have historically developed in quite different socio-economic conditions, but due to globalisation in recent decades, there has been a growing demand to harmonise the conditions for the creation of the content of financial information disclosed primarily by entities that are in the public interest. This paper aims to investigate to what extent similarities and differences can be identified in selected areas of financial accounting and reporting. Given the limited scope of the paper, the areas discussed are accounting regulation, and the form and structure of balance sheets of business entities. The objective was achieved by applying traditional scientific methods, namely by searching scientific and professional papers to obtain knowledge about the current level of knowledge in the field under study, as well as by describing the current state of accounting regulation in both countries and comparative analysis of the requirements placed on the balance sheet of entrepreneurs. The historical method was partly applied to obtain knowledge in the necessary historical context of the topic. The final discussion provides a synthesis of the knowledge gained on the identified similarities and differences in the above areas of financial accounting. The paper can be seen as unique, as it introduces the previously unpublished topic of comparability of the accounting systems of the Czech Republic and Brazil.

Digital transformation changes economy and society, makes significant changes in people’s life and can have both positive and negative consequences for individuals, organisations and society. To the success of digital transformation, the human factor is more important than the technology itself. This research survey focuses on the human perception of support needed from different actors for their adaptation towards digital transformation. The quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire survey was carried out using an online panel. The respondents for the questionnaire survey were adult people living in the Czech Republic (n = 1000 from generations Baby Boomers, X and Y). The questionnaire design was inspired by the OECD Risks That Matter Survey 2020. The research focuses on what role different actors play in addressing negative impacts of digital transformation. The findings show that the highest level of responsibility was given to the Czech government, followed by firms and public administration. Conversely, lower levels of accountability were attributed to nonprofit organisations and trade unions, but surprisingly also at the individual level. The findings further found no significant effect on the perception of responsibility of government, firms and public administration, nonprofit organisations and trade unions for gender, education, nature of work and type of generation. However, we identified differences among groups in their assessment of responsibility on an individual level. Findings are important for decision-makers that should be responsible for peoples’ transformation in the context of digital transformation.

Investing in human capital is one of the critical decisions of a company. The company's competitiveness and organisational, social and environmental sustainability is influenced by corporate training. This paper explores the relationship between sustainability and the non-provision of employee training in enterprises. The introduced topic is based on a systematic literature review and a secondary data analysis of Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS), which provides comparable data from 29 European countries in reference years 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2020 with a net sample of 113,000 enterprises. The paper focuses on small enterprises with 10 to 49 employees, representing over 20 million people in more than 1.3 million European business units. Recently aggregated data illustrate the European companies' attitude to corporate training and its barriers. Once the main obstacles to employee training are identified and removed, an organisation can increase the training and development of its employees. The more training and development activities is provided, the more it impacts its competitiveness and the company's sustainability. This paper examines the EUs small enterprises, emphasising specific situations in the last decade in the Czech Republic. It brings a new attitude to the connection between corporate training in small companies in the EU and sustainability.
