With a home ownership rate of over 98%, a viewing rate of l more than 3.50 hours, advertising revenue of over 4 billion euros , and “contenus Rendez-vous” bringing in record audiences, television rules over the living room, bringing the family together up into the 1980s. It is, however, controlled by the ruling political powers.Under the presidency of François Mitterrand, television was liberalized with the appearance of new private and commercial channels, financed by audiences and advertising, while the public sector continued to be funded by a license fee. In the 90s, the arrival of cable and satellite, followed by TNT in 2005, allowed the amazing increase of a number of new channels and TV services (« subscriptions to cable, satellite and finally Canal + in 1984 )But this evolution continues with the arrival of digital TV, revolutionizing the industry. It increases the number of channels exponentially, expands the production of content generated by consumers, and promotes interactivity through social networks. Technological advances are changing consumer habits with regard to the small screen, especially for young people. The computer, tablet, smartphone and the connected TV let you watch "television as I want, where I want, when I want”. Traditional TV, once considered as a mass media, is now a media that is individualized and that adapts to the tastes and desires of each viewer.The current financial system in France is literally exploding to deal with the internationalization of audiovisual content and players, with most of the content produced in North America.. Obsolete regulations can no longer keep pace with consumer demand in Europe and France. Faced with global supply and new viewing habits (delinearised viewing: replayand video on demand), television still continues to unite the public around major news events (sporting events, political events, the evening news …). The important, rapid changes now occurring in TV content and distribution lead to considerable uncertainty with regard to the future of traditional television, and unless it can adapt, it could more or less disappear in the long term

The articulation of concepts within these two disciplines is needed to address the issue of this work regarding the role of satellite television in the creation of a public space in the Arab world.We use the analytical descriptive method, combined with a comparative interpretative technique that will allow us to understand and interpret the results from the analysis of media content delivered by the four chains involved in this work.This method of survey interviews allow greater visibility and a better understanding of political representations constructed by the media through speech mediators in the areas studied

Pełny tekst źródłaThis dissertation focuses on identifying processes implemented with the expansion of the Internet. In order to understand the characteristics of groups interacting online, the author proposes an approach using a group that is anthropologically constituted. This approach is based on the hypothesis that these online interactions cannot be separated from the media, social and anthropological contexts that caused them to take place. The author defines the socio-cultural group in his study, the Kabyles, as a deterritorialized Berber minority claiming the recognition of their cultural and linguistic identity; he shows that the Kabyles' case constitutes a relevant field of research to observe the dynamics between group identities and socio-technological networks. An empirical approach was used, which includes the method of triangulation for collecting data (field observation, corpus analysis, qualitative investigation) and a comprehensive approach to produce a model that is explanatory and interpretative of the group's relationship with authority, memory and territory. The author shows that ownership of the Internet leads to a pluralisation of identity references and a transformation of representations (more value for the group). These processes bring about the implementation of new media and identity practices that transcend constraints in both time and space, and they promote the manifestation of groups' will to independently set up a space for expression and collective action, allowing the emergence and the spread of a new politics of identity

More recently, the emergence of social media brought forward by Web 2.0 is transforming how people and organizations are communicating. Tourism destinations and more specifically destination management organizations that manage and promote them are affected by these changes. The objective of this thesis is to answer the initial research question: How are destination management organizations adapting to this new communication environment?In this thesis, the external and promotional communication of destination management organizations is studied through the prism of communication models and theories. The subject has been observed in its context where traditional media is challenged by new tools available with new communication and information technology. The case of Tourisme Montréal, a non-profit private organization counting some 750 members (hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc. ) was analysed and the observations participate in the verification of the initial questioning.The work is divided into two major parts. The first part establishes the reference basis for the construction of the thesis. The second part is dedicated to the study of our chosen case, Tourisme Montréal. It compares theory knowledge to the reality of destination management organizations. The methodology used in our research includes data collection from different sources including interviews, observation and the analysis of various types of documents

This shift is empowered by new IT tools commonly known as “Enterprise Social Media” (ESM). Taking mainly the form of integrated platforms, these tools are deployed with the promise of enhancing employees’ communicative activities at the workplace while capitalizing on their social connections. Yet, it remains unclear for companies how their employees benefit from the use of these new tools (i.e., ESM platforms). Managers are unable to evaluate the use of these platforms and thus, tangibly measure the success of their investments. Moreover, introducing ESM platforms to the workplace impact the way the existing tools, such as email, are regarded and used. This leads to the question of whether these new platforms may be substitutes for the use of the existing tools. This thesis tackles the mentioned polemical questions about the place of ESM platforms in today’s enterprises. Carried out jointly with Orange labs, the thesis assesses the role ESM platforms could play in supporting organizations in reaching their objectives and hence sustaining their businesses in an extreme competitive context. It explores the real use of these platforms by offering a quantitative social network analysis and data mining of an established ESM platform currently in use. While relying on a proposed research model that characterizes the activity, the applied hypothesis tests allow determining the correct use of ESM platforms, which in turn indicates the success of their deployments. Moreover, the thesis argues through a reasoning approach that the ESM platforms are not capable of substituting the use of existing workplace tools. Instead, they work in tandem with certain tools such as email. Based on the latter argument, the email tagging service is introduced as an example of how existing workplace tools may be enriched with social features to derive increased benefit for the workforce. The thesis finally validates the service through implementation and testing. To conclude, it proposes and discusses scenarios of future social systems that involve the overall set of workplace tools in enterprises

Pełny tekst źródłaA given society’s relationship with water is contextual, based on individual and public perceptions. This research investigated how public perception has been shaped by different stakeholders in two different river systems. To do so, we compared the trajectories of the Rhône River (France) and the Sacramento River (United States) by combining field observations with a principal dataset of 5,985 newspaper articles. Because the definition of social problems occurs within public arenas, this retrospective study of newspaper coverage allowed us to evaluate exogenous and endogenous discontinuities, static and dynamic constraints, and environmental and social trajectories. Media coverage was analyzed using content, quotation, and textual data analysis as well as GIS. Conflict between values entails interaction between different arenas, mobilizes spokespeople, and consolidates power relations. The Advocacy Coalition Framework promotes the hybridization between bottom-up and top-down policies and legitimizes different processes of discussion and problem-solving. Dialog between stakeholders exists in space and time between here and elsewhere, present and past, and risk and disasters. These temporal factors were addressed with a synchronic study. During the twentieth century, the Rhône River and the Sacramento River have undergone a great number of changes, primarily due to different decisions made at the national level. Nevertheless in both basins, advocacy coalitions have been key sources of political changes for thirty years: they share a set of beliefs and act in concert to address local concerns in water policy. Finally, a more detailed case study is presented for the Rhône basin, where French law and scientific knowledge require integrated river basin management. The Rhône case study demonstrates the spatial and temporal variability of opinions, debates, and discourses about water, which often embody tensions because of conflicting demands

Fake content detection on social media has recently becomeemerging research that is attracting tremendous attention. In this area, fake identities areplaying an important role in the production and propagation of fake content in Online SocialNetworks such as Meta (Facebook), Twitter, and Instagram. The main reason behind thisis that social media encourages impersonators, malicious accounts, trolls, and social bots toproduce content and interact with humans or other bots without considering the credibilityof the content and entice users to click and share them.In this thesis, I primarily concentrate on impersonators as one of the concerning vari-eties of fake identities. These entities are nefarious fake accounts that intend to disguise alegitimate account by making similar profiles and then striking social media with fake con-tent, which makes it considerably harder to understand which posts are genuinely produced.The recent advancements in Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Transformer-basedLanguage Models (LM) can be adapted to develop automatic methods for many relatedNLP downstream tasks in this area. Language Models and their flexibility to cope withany corpus delivering great results has made this approach very popular. The fake contentclassification can be handled using Pretrained Language Models (PLM) and accurate deeplearning models.The aim of this thesis is to investigate the problem of fake identities, fake activities, andtheir generated ingenuine content in social media and propose algorithms to classify fakecontent. We define fake content as a verifiably false piece of information shared intentionallyto mislead the readers. I propose different approaches in which I adapt advanced TransferLearning (TL) models and NLP techniques to detect fake identities and classify fake contentautomatically

Pełny tekst źródłaThe focus of this dissertation was the formation of a specific social group composed by individuals who recognize themselves as black, and who can be said to belong to a black middle class, living and working in the city of Maringá, Paraná. One of the aims of this study is to contribute to the academic production that analyzes the racial relationships in the Brazilian society. When focusing on the black segment of the Brazilian population residing in a mediumsize city like Maringá, we investigate the attributes that are responsible for the segment formation and for its identity, assuming, with that, that such a segment sees itself as a different social group, from the materialistic as well as the symbolic point of view. This dissertation is divided in two chapters. The first chapter contains a bibliographical review and establishes the theoretical reference on color, race and social segment in order to show the theoretical notions we used in our study. The second chapter shows the results we gathered. We used a directed questionnaire in order to gather the information. We also explain the criteria we used to cho ose the interviewees and the significant situations that took place during the interviews, accompanied by the analysis and interpretation of the gathered information. In the final considerations, we sum up the results obtained, which led us to verify the presence of a formation process of a black middle class in the city of Maringá. Despite the racial prejudice, they were able to accomplish an ascending social climbing process.
Esta dissertação foi elaborada tendo em vista a formação de um agrupamento social específico, composto por indivíduos que se reconhecem como negros e podem ser considerados como pertencentes a uma classe média negra que reside e trabalha na cidade de Maringá, Paraná. Entre os objetivos que orientam a realização deste estudo está o de contribuir para a produção acadêmica que analisa as relações raciais na sociedade brasileira. Ao enfocarmos o segmento negro da população brasileira residente em uma cidade de porte médio como Maringá, investigamos os atributos que incidem sobre a formação da classe e de sua identidade, supondose, com isso, que tal segmento concebe-se como grupo social distinto, tanto do ponto de vista material, como do ponto de vista simbólico. Esta dissertação está dividida em dois capítulos. O primeiro capítulo contém uma revisão bibliográfica e o estabelecimento do referencial teórico sobre cor, raça e classe social para evidenciação das noções teóricas de classe média e de identidade negra empregada neste estudo. No segundo capítulo serão apresentados os resultados alcançados através da aplicação do questionário aplicado para coleta de informações; serão explicitados os critérios adotados para a escolha dos informantes e as situações significativas ocorridas durante o processo de aplicação dos questionários, acompanhadas da análise e interpretação das informações obtidas. Nas considerações finais são sintetizados os resultados alcançados, que levaram à constatação da ocorrência de um processo de formação de uma classe média composta por indivíduos negros na cidade de Maringá, que, a despeito das discriminações raciais vivenciadas, realizaram um processo de mobilidade social ascendente.

Pełny tekst źródłaSocial Media has changed the way we communicate between individuals, within organizations and communities. The availability of these social data opens new opportunities to understand and influence the user behavior. Therefore, Social Media Mining is experiencing a growing interest in various scientific and economic circles. In this thesis, we are specifically interested in the users of these networks whom we try to characterize in two ways: (i) their expertise and their reputations and (ii) the sentiments they express.Conventionally, social data is often mined according to its network structure. However, the textual content of the exchanged messages may reveal additional knowledge that can not be known through the analysis of the structure. Until recently, the majority of work done for the analysis of the textual content was proposed for English. The originality of this thesis is to develop methods and resources based on the textual content of the messages for French Social Media Mining.In the first axis, we initially suggest to predict the user expertise. For this, we used forums that recruit health experts to learn classification models that serve to identify messages posted by experts in any other health forum. We demonstrate that models learned on appropriate forums can be used effectively on other forums. Then, in a second step, we focus on the user reputation in these forums. The idea is to seek expressions of trust and distrust expressed in the textual content of the exchanged messages, to search the recipients of these messages and use this information to deduce users' reputation. We propose a new reputation measure that weighs the score of each response by the reputation of its author. Automatic and manual evaluations have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed approach.In the second axis, we focus on the extraction of sentiments (emotions and polarity). For this, we started by building a French lexicon of sentiments and emotions that we call FEEL (French Expanded Emotions Lexicon). This lexicon is built semi-automatically by translating and expanding its English counterpart NRC EmoLex. We then compare FEEL with existing French lexicons from literature on reference benchmarks. The results show that FEEL improves the classification of French texts according to their polarities and emotions. Finally, we propose to evaluate different features, methods and resources for the classification of sentiments in French. The conducted experiments have identified useful features and methods in the classification of sentiments for different types of texts. The learned systems have been particularly efficient on reference benchmarks.Generally, this work opens promising perspectives on various analytical tasks of Social Media Mining including: (i) combining multiple sources in mining Social Media users; (ii) multi-modal Social Media Mining using not just text but also image, videos, location, etc. and (iii) multilingual sentiment analysis

Pełny tekst źródłaA presente dissertação oferece um estudo sobre Responsabilidade Social Empresarial (RSE), temática que tem vindo a adquirir um crescente interesse no contexto organizacional do mundo empresarial. Para isso, procede-se à exploração do conceito de Responsabilidade Social Empresarial e sua evolução, procurou-se conhecer modelos e teorias desenvolvidos para, seguidamente, analisar as atividades de RSE desenvolvidas por uma pequena e média empresa (PME) Portuguesa, líder ibérica no setor onde atua, em três níveis nucleares: o nível económico, o social e o ambiental. Neste âmbito, identificaram-se os benefícios e limitações inerentes a estas atividades, segundo a perspetiva da empresa, o papel destas atividades na estratégia da empresa e, por último, através da aplicação de um Framework, a relação entre o desempenho social da empresa e a RSE. Neste contexto, a normalização e a realidade das PME assumem um papel primordial. Optou-se por uma metodologia de investigação qualitativa visto que foi analisada apenas uma empresa. Como técnica de recolha de dados, optou-se pela aplicação de um inquérito e pela realização de uma entrevista com o responsável da empresa. Procedeu-se à interpretação dos dados, relacionando-os com os conceitos teóricos apresentados. Os dados revelam a crescente preocupação com a RSE por parte da PME estudada, apesar de todos os constrangimentos existentes.
This thesis focuses on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which has been attracting more and more attention in the organizational context in the enterprise world. To achieve this, first an overview of the concept of CSR is carried on as well as its evolution, models and theories developed. Second, an analysis of CSR activity of a Portuguese SME is done. This SME is a leader in its sector, on three main levels: economic, social and environmental. Benefits and limitations are identified related to these activities from the company perspective, its purpose accordingly to the companies’ strategy and finally through an application of a framework which explored the relation between the corporate social performance and CSR. In this context, the normalization and the reality of SME takes a major role. The methodology is of qualitative nature due to the fact that only one case was studied. The data collection technique was inquired as well as a single interview with the company’s responsible. The data was interpreted and linked into the theoretical concepts. The findings are that there is a growing concern regarding Corporate Social Responsibility in the SME under analysis, beyond all the existing constraints.

Understanding trending content and its dynamics is crucial to the explanation of opinion spreading, and to the design of social marketing strategies. While previous research has mostly focused on trending content and on the network structure of individuals in social media, this work complements these studies by exploring in depth the human factors behind the generation of this content. We build upon this analysis to investigate new personalization tools helping individuals to discover interesting social media content. This work contributes to the literature on the following aspects: an in depth analysis on individuals who create trending content in social media that uncovers their distinguishing characteristics; a novel means to identify trending content by relying on the ability of special individuals who create them; a mechanism to build a recommender system to personalize trending content; and techniques to improve the quality of recommendations beyond the core theme of accuracy. Our studies underline the vital role of special users in the creation of trending content in social media. Thanks to such special users and their ``wisdom'', individuals may discover the trending content distilled to their tastes. Our work brings insights in two main research directions - trending content in social media and recommender systems

The discussions involving the subject of women have been growing in recent decades as a result of reframing of women's roles and the exponential growth of their participation in public spaces. This break with some old traditions brought the woman to the labor market and, as necessary, extended not only the horizon, but with the provision responsibilities and functions in the family. Under this scenario, we have analyzed the perception of middle-class woman on the diversity of women's roles in five different family configurations. The study in question is characterized as a field research, descriptive and qualitative approach. The sample consisted of five women with an income equivalent to the middle-class families and all with higher education, each representing one of five family configurations determined for this study: nuclear family, recomposed family, family ownership, family and single parent family expanded. Data collection was conducted through interviews, following a script unstructured. The interviews were recorded and then the interviews were transcribed, and the results analyzed using content analysis. The results from the analysis show that for middle-class women representatives of the five family configurations, the work presents itself not only as a means of provision for the families, but as an opportunity for emancipation. Even the middle class, the overlap of functions is a reality and the needs of the family may be factors involved in the process of professional growth. In search of an identity that addresses their needs and family, many of them balancing features culturally imposed on women development of the subject, with the acquisition of behavior patterns of the modern woman, heavily steeped in tradition, sexism and religion. After analyzing the results, it was observed that even for middle-class women and higher education level, cultural some remains are still part of family relationships and marital and work is the vehicle of emancipation most striking, though I can bring different implications for women that need to manage your home and family.
As discussões envolvendo o tema mulher vêm crescendo nas últimas décadas como consequência da resignificação dos papéis femininos e do crescimento exponencial da sua participação nos espaços públicos. Essa ruptura com algumas tradições seculares trouxe a mulher para o mercado de trabalho e, a partir disso, alargaram-se não só os horizontes, mas as responsabilidades com a provisão e suas funções na família. Considerando essa realidade, buscou-se analisar a percepção da mulher de classe média sobre a diversidade dos papéis femininos em cinco configurações familiares distintas. O estudo em questão se caracteriza como uma pesquisa de campo, descritiva e com abordagem qualitativa. A amostra foi composta por cinco mulheres com renda equivalente a de famílias de classe média e todas com nível superior de formação, cada uma representando uma das cinco configurações familiares determinadas para esse estudo: família nuclear, família recomposta, família unipessoal, família monoparental e família ampliada. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de entrevistas, seguindo um roteiro não estruturado. As entrevistas foram gravadas e, posteriormente, as falas foram transcritas, e os resultados analisados pela técnica de análise de conteúdo. Os resultados obtidos a partir da análise revelam que para as mulheres de classe média representantes das cinco configurações familiares, o trabalho se apresenta não apenas como um meio de provisão das famílias, mas como uma oportunidade de emancipação. Mesmo na classe média, a sobreposição de funções é uma realidade e as necessidades da família podem ser fatores intervenientes do processo de ascensão profissional. Na busca por uma identidade que contemple suas necessidade e da família, muitas delas equilibram características culturalmente impostas a formação do sujeito mulher, com a aquisição de padrões de comportamento da mulher moderna, fortemente impregnadas de tradição, sexismo e religião. Após análise dos resultados, observou-se que mesmo para mulheres de classe média e com nível formação superior, alguns ranços culturais ainda fazem parte das relações familiares e conjugais e o trabalho é o veículo de emancipação mais marcante, embora traga consigo diversas implicações para a mulher que precisa administrar sua casa e família.

Although this tautological expression may be amazing at first sight, it appears that no academic definition of social media has been proposed to date. This gap in academic research illustrates that this topic is both recent and complex. Therefore, our research aims to conduct a contextual analysis of the emergence of a new media. This research is based on an empirical approach through the study of uses, practices and representations of social media users. As social media are characterized by the interactionist dimension, our research will target active users. From these connected and networked people to active audiences, our analysis will focus on new ways related to involvement. The objective is twofold: on one hand, to determine the function held by fans and official meaning-makers in the overall structure of cultural production as to reveal their power dynamics. For that purpose, we shall focus on a specific type of fans, namely television fans who connect around queer matters – whether those matters are broached in American TV contents or not – and who make digital technology part of their rewriting practices as well as their protests against the lack of diversity and authentic representation in current US television shows.On the other hand, adopting the meme's eye view will allow us to contemplate these power dynamics between fans and producers by questioning the mecanisms at play in the formation of each of their functions in the production/reception structure. Memetics understood as a Darwinian theory of cultural evolution shall prove to be an efficient tool for interpreting the creation of groups and group interactions, and thus allow us to conceptualize "fans" and "producers" as superorganisms, social complexes of individuals driven by a common meme. We will, through an analysis of the ways in which LGBTQ television narratives are transmitted, problematize fan resistance to cultural contents as a memetic instance: a battle between superorganisms

Understanding trending content and its dynamics is crucial to the explanation of opinion spreading, and to the design of social marketing strategies. While previous research has mostly focused on trending content and on the network structure of individuals in social media, this work complements these studies by exploring in depth the human factors behind the generation of this content. We build upon this analysis to investigate new personalization tools helping individuals to discover interesting social media content. This work contributes to the literature on the following aspects: an in depth analysis on individuals who create trending content in social media that uncovers their distinguishing characteristics; a novel means to identify trending content by relying on the ability of special individuals who create them; a mechanism to build a recommender system to personalize trending content; and techniques to improve the quality of recommendations beyond the core theme of accuracy. Our studies underline the vital role of special users in the creation of trending content in social media. Thanks to such special users and their ``wisdom'', individuals may discover the trending content distilled to their tastes. Our work brings insights in two main research directions - trending content in social media and recommender systems

This doctoral thesis is the study of the theory of prosperity of the neo-pentecostal denomination of churches and in particular the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. The overall objective is to understand the theory of iurdiana prosperity provides access to a "new" social class, entrepreneurial. The specific objective is to understand the relationship between the spiritual capital and the trajectory of the faithful iurdiano entrepreneur to a "new" social class: the entrepreneurial middle class. For realization of our objectives was used qualitative methodology and intentional quantitative based on questionnaires, interviews and analysis of programs and religious events of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Ten interviews intentionally selected were analyzed. For the construction of the research object, we are relying on the theory of cultural reproduction of Pierre Bourdieu and empirical research conducted within the group in question. The choice of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God was made to be that one of the most important religious institutions and more faithful. We chose to study this issue in a specific region of São Paulo, the local Brás region of high concentration of neo-Pentecostal evangelicals and faithful of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God
Esta tese de doutorado se constitui no estudo sobre a teoria da prosperidade das igrejas de denominação neopentecostal e, em especial da Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus. O objetivo geral é compreender se a teoria da prosperidade iurdiana propicia o acesso a uma “nova” classe social, a empreendedora. O objetivo específico é a compreensão da relação entre o capital espiritual e a trajetória do fiel iurdiano empreendedor a uma “nova” classe social: a classe média empreendedora. Para realização de nossos objetivos foi utilizada metodologia qualitativa e a quantitativa intencional baseada na aplicação de questionários, entrevistas e análise de programas e eventos religiosos da Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus. Foram analisadas dez entrevistas selecionadas intencionalmente. Para a construção do objeto de pesquisa, nos apoiamos na teoria da reprodução cultural de Pierre Bourdieu e em pesquisas empíricas realizadas no contexto do grupo em análise. A escolha da Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus se fez por ser essa uma das instituições religiosas mais importantes e com maior número de fiéis. Pełny tekst źródłaA união estável é uma forma de relação conjugal presente, como concubinato, em diversas sociedades desde a antiguidade, constituindo uma opção de vida conjugal que tem se tornado cada vez mais freqüente na atualidade. O novo Código Civil (2002), em coerência com as mudanças introduzidas pela Constituição de 1988, confere a esse tipo de vínculo o título de entidade familiar, passando ele a compor o Livro de Família deste diploma legal. O tratamento jurídico fez dessa forma de relação antiga um novo arranjo conjugal, fato com inúmeras implicações no âmbito da vida privada. Como fato novo, a união estável gera estranhamentos, provocando um processo de familiarização social através da sua ancoragem em forma de relações conjugais já existentes: o casamento ou o concubinato. A partir desse entendimento, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo descrever, analisar e comparar as representações sociais a respeito da união estável produzidas por homens e mulheres, em quatro condições distintas: casados, solteiros, em união estável, separados. A amostra da pesquisa empírica foi composta de 304 sujeitos, com 76 em cada situação conjugal considerada, sendo metade homens e metade mulheres. O instrumento utilizado foi um questionário composto de 41 questões, sendo 21 fechadas e 19 abertas. Dentre elas, 40 são questões substantivas relativas à união estável, com vistas à obtenção de dados que configurem circunstancialmente as representações sociais. O questionário é iniciado por uma questão específica de evocação livre à descrição de uma relação conjugal do tipo união estável, para identificação dos conteúdos temáticos básicos e da estrutura das representações, de modo a permitir sua comparação. Finalmente, uma questão, desmembrada em 6 itens, visa à caracterização sócio-demográfica do conjunto dos sujeitos. As evocações foram analisadas através do software EVOC, permitindo identificar a estrutura das representações sociais. As respostas às perguntas fechadas e abertas, estas após sua categorização, foram objeto de um tratamento estatístico descritivo simples. Os resultados demonstraram que o núcleo central das representações sociais dos quatro grupos investigados compõe-se basicamente pelos sentimentos de amor e respeito. Observou-se também um alto grau de informação a respeito da união estável e posicionamentos predominantemente favoráveis tanto a respeito da legalização quanto em relação a alguns de seus aspectos jurídicos considerados polêmicos, como a conversão da união estável em casamento. Este estudo evidenciou ainda que a representação social da união estável procede basicamente de uma ancoragem no casamento, embora se tenha observado também a perpetuação da crença existente no senso comum de que é mais fácil se separar na união estável do que casamento
The Common-law marriage is one kind of interpersonal relationships, as concubinage, existent in many societies since the beginning of time. Besides being one option for couples who seek an intimate relationship, it has become increasingly frequent nowadays. The new Civil Code (2002) in agreement with the changes introduced by the 1988 Constitution statuses this type of union the with the title of Family Unit and establishes it as part of the Book of Family of this piece of legislation. The legal recognition made this ancient kind of union a new possibility of marriage, what leads to unlimited implications concerning people' private lives. As any new fact, common-law marriage brings up strangeness, leading to a process of social familiarization basically through the foundations of the existent kinds of wedlocks, the statutory marriage and concubinage. From this understanding, the following paper had as objectives to describe, analyze and compare the social representations concerning common-law marriage by men and women in four different marital status: legally married, single, separated and living in a common-law marriage. The sample of the empirical research was composed of 304 subjects, 76 in each marital status considered, being half men and half women. The instrument used was a questionnaire consisting of 41 questions, 21 of them were close and 19 were open questions. Among them, 40 were substancial questions related to common-law marriage in order to obtain data that would define the social representations. The questionnaire starts with a descriptive brainstorming question on common-law marriage to identify the basic content themes and the structure of the representations, so that it would be possible to compare. Eventually, a question broken into 6 itens aimed to specify the subjects social-demographic status. The evocations were analyzed by the software EVOC allowing to identify the structure of the social representations. After categorization, the answers to both open and close questions were subject of a simple descriptive statistical treatment. The results showed that the central core of the social representations in each of the four groups investigated is composed mainly by the feelings of love and respect. In addition, it was noticed a high level of information concerning common-law marriage and predominantly favourable positions not only concerning legalization but also into some controversial legal aspects such as the conversion of common-law marriage into statutory marriage. This research pointed out that the social representation of common-law marriage stands anchored basically into statutory marriage, although it was also observed the perpetuation of the existing common sense belief that it is easier to separate when in a common-law marriage than in a legal marriage.

Pełny tekst źródłaSocial media have greatly modified the way we produce, diffuse and consume information, and have become powerful information vectors. The goal of this thesis is to help in the understanding of the information diffusion phenomenon in social media by providing means of modeling and analysis.First, we propose MABED (Mention-Anomaly-Based Event Detection), a statistical method for automatically detecting events that most interest social media users from the stream of messages they publish. In contrast with existing methods, it doesn't only focus on the textual content of messages but also leverages the frequency of social interactions that occur between users. MABED also differs from the literature in that it dynamically estimates the period of time during which each event is discussed rather than assuming a predefined fixed duration for all events. Secondly, we propose T-BASIC (Time-Based ASynchronous Independent Cascades), a probabilistic model based on the network structure underlying social media for predicting information diffusion, more specifically the evolution of the number of users that relay a given piece of information through time. In contrast with similar models that are also based on the network structure, the probability that a piece of information propagate from one user to another isn't fixed but depends on time. We also describe a procedure for inferring the latent parameters of that model, which we formulate as functions of observable characteristics of social media users. Thirdly, we propose SONDY (SOcial Network DYnamics), a free and extensible software that implements state-of-the-art methods for mining data generated by social media, i.e. the messages published by users and the structure of the social network that interconnects them. As opposed to existing academic tools that either focus on analyzing messages or analyzing the network, SONDY permits the joint analysis of these two types of data through the analysis of influence with respect to each detected event.The experiments, conducted on data collected on Twitter, demonstrate the relevance of our proposals and shed light on some properties that give us a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying information diffusion. First, we compare the performance of MABED against those of methods from the literature and find that taking into account the frequency of social interactions between users leads to more accurate event detection and improved robustness in presence of noisy content. We also show that MABED helps with the interpretation of detected events by providing clearer textual description and more precise temporal descriptions. Secondly, we demonstrate the relevancy of the procedure we propose for estimating the pairwise diffusion probabilities on which T-BASIC relies. For that, we illustrate the predictive power of users' characteristics, and compare the performance of the method we propose to estimate the diffusion probabilities against those of state-of-the-art methods. We show the importance of having non-constant diffusion probabilities, which allows incorporating the variation of users' level of receptivity through time into T-BASIC. We also study how -- and in which proportion -- the social, topical and temporal characteristics of users impact information diffusion. Thirdly, we illustrate with various scenarios the usefulness of SONDY, both for non-experts -- thanks to its advanced user interface and adapted visualizations -- and for researchers -- thanks to its application programming interface

Pełny tekst źródłaNumerous domains have interests in studying the viewpoints expressed online, be it for marketing, cybersecurity, or research purposes with the rise of computational social sciences. We propose in this manuscript two contributions to the field of stance detection, focused around the difficulty of obtaining annotated data of quality on social medias. Our first contribution is a large and complex dataset of 22853 Twitter profiles active during the French presidential campaign of 2017. This is one of the rare datasets that considers a non-binary stance classification and, to our knowledge, the first one with a large number of profiles, and the first one proposing overlapping political communities. This dataset can be used as-is to study the campaign mechanisms on Twitter, or used to test stance detection models or network analysis tools. We then propose two semi-supervised generic stance detection models using a handful of seed profiles for which we know the stance to classify the rest of the profiles by exploiting various proximities. Indeed, current stance detection models are usually grounded on the specificities of some social platforms, which is unfortunate since it does not allow the integration of the multitude of available signals. By infering proximities from differents types of elements available on social medias, we can detect profiles close enough to assume they share a similar stance on a given subject. Our first model is a sequential ensemble algorithm which propagates stances thanks to a multi-layer graph representing proximities between profiles. Using datasets from two platforms, we show that, by combining several types of proximities, we can achieve excellent results. Our second model allows us to observe the evolution of profiles' stances during an event with as little as one seed profile by stance. This model confirms that a large majority of profiles do not change their stance on social medias, or do not express their change of heart

In so doing, instead of separating social media and social movements to study their interactions—a maneuver that forecloses investigation into the situated constitution of both—I adopt a posthumanist performative perspective and shift my analytical gaze on the everyday actions and practices entailed in social media activism. This dissertation contributes to both OT and IS literatures. Specifically, in each essay I develop a practice-based material-discursive understanding of the subject matter that is useful in engaging, investigating, and making sense of phenomena entailed in social media organizing and their consequences. The novelty and relevance for the OT literature comes from attending to the constitutive role of materiality in organizing processes, while, an additional novelty and relevance for the IS literature comes from attending to issues of contestation, politics, and collective agency vis-à-vis social media. Finally, I make a distinctive contribution by attending to the understudied context of right-wing movements

The latter are nowadays directly implicated or even challenged and considered less and less capable of handling social issues on their own. Presently, they are challenged by different kinds of other professional or voluntary workers who may as well feel concerned hy the social actualities. Thus, it appears that in this new context characterizing the definition of social issues and essential solidarity, the roles and functions belonging to the field of information, communication and promotion through the media, seem to play a part that becomes more and more important. They do not really give more means designed to insert, or look after the disabled or people suffering from maladjustment or any other form of exclusion. However, other means and especially another visibility in the public field will influence the existence and working conditions of several professional groups. The main objective of our research work is to describe the various mechanisms through which social intervention collects, from the medias, the items that will be involved in its construction or reconstruction. We also want to show how these medias take advantage of such elements in order to achieve their own construction. This means studying : first, what can nowadays be promoted by the medias in terms of common social interventions (me social mediatical work), and secondly, the part of social action which can be attributed to the medias and specially television (the social work of the medias). A better understanding of the co-constructions prompted or carried out by the interdependent and joint action of these two professional activities, leads us to observe and analyse the changes in the arrangement and layout, within the public domain, of the respective professional situations and identities but also in the cast and understanding of the role of both types of contributors. The transformations which are in progress in each one of the previous fields already appear to be as many elements of a same global procedure of professionalisation, and seen another way, what we call deprofessionalisation, and this therefore contributes to setting out a new production in the field of social reality

Este estudo constitui-se em uma investigação com abordagem qualitativa, que busca, a partir do olhar dos professores de escolas públicas e particulares de Ensino Médio, investigar as representações sobre sexualidade, que permeiam as instituições educativas na cidade de Santiago, RS, bem como identificar, categorizar e discutir as concepções, ações na prática docente e aspirações dos alunos envolvidos nesse ambiente social. As informações obtidas a partir das realidades foram discutidas através da teoria das Representações Sociais e como instrumentos de pesquisa foram utilizadas a entrevista semi-estruturada e a observação. A partir da utilização desses recursos, foram elencados conteúdos das entrevistas que nortearam a formação de categorias e a aproximação com representações sociais, constituídas pelos grupos. Essas representações passaram, posteriormente, a constituir o foco das discussões, as quais foram fundamentadas pelo referencial teórico, cujas bases estão em autores como: Foucault (1992, 2001, 2002), Freud (l976) Saviani (2001), Nunes (2001), Gomes (2002), Veiga (1997), Guimarães (1995), Stoll (1988), Kupfer (1989), Minayo (2000), entre outros. Este trabalho permitiu verificar as múltiplas idéias e imagens presentes em cada dimensão pesquisada. Segundo os posicionamentos e argumentações dos sujeitos, o tema foi evidenciado, oportunizando novas discussões e reestruturações dos currículos em prol da melhoria nas suas práticas docentes e, conseqüentemente, de processo de formação humanizado. O estudo demonstrou que o tema sexualidade exerce influência sobre cada um dos integrantes de relações sociais, através de suas culturas, histórias de vida e políticas de um contexto, tornando-se, assim, um assunto bastante complexo. Assim, a sexualidade, como uma dimensão da condição humana, exige dos profissionais da área da educação um esforço para gerar situações que possam esclarecer dúvidas ou mesmo orientar a formação do educando. Nas entrevistas, os docentes evidenciam preocupação com o tema e reivindicam subsídios que lhes favoreçam esclarecimentos no trato com a sexualidade humana a fim de melhor trabalhar na prática docente. A maioria dos entrevistados relata as dificuldades encontradas ao trabalhar o assunto, a ausência de conhecimentos recebidos na formação inicial e a inexistência de realização de projetos que permitam ao professor(a) desempenhar, de forma eficiente, o papel profissional e social. Em relação aos educandos, observa-se que há muitas dúvidas sobre sexualidade e dificuldade em falar sobre esse assunto com alguém que lhe dêem condições emocionais na busca de uma melhor aprendizagem e da construção do conhecimento. Segundo os entrevistados, as relações interpessoais são condicionantes para um bom desempenho docente e para a facilidade de aprendizado dos alunos(as). A pesquisa mostra que, pelo fato de abordar as representações sociais acerca da sexualidade, a subjetividade se revela tanto no professor(a) como no(a) aluno(a), materializando-se nas ações ou atitudes explícitas ou implícitas de ambos. Assim, acentua-se uma cumplicidade no sentido de auxiliar o desenvolvimento da sexualidade dos discentes, possibilita-lhes a formação de diferentes visões de mundo, ajuda-os na resolução de conflitos e permite uma reflexão maior que os conduz a posicionamentos mais seguros.

Instead of bieng a richness factor, diversity and complexity of the Sudan are in their way to undermine the integrity of the country, because of the domination of the only arab-islamic culture over the other sudanese cultures. Media : newspapers, radio and television boradcasting are the reflection of the social reality. They relate real-life, a accompany discussions, show off problems. Now, the sudan problems concern the determination of "sudanity", that means the cultural identity, pillar of the citizenship. The sudan problems include, also, equal division of wealth and power, relation between state and religion, etc. Within normal situations in the country, when there is democratic regimes, media had always managed to formulate the central questions as regards to social cohesion, conduct and mastermind contradictory debates, make appraisals of government policies, explain and comment decisions and resolutions of executive, legislature and judiciary

Resumo: Ao longo da segunda metade dos anos 1990 surgiram em diversos países sedes dos encontros das organizações multilaterais, tais como a OMC, o FMI e o Banco Mundial, manifestações de oposição às políticas neoliberais, resultando no início de um novo movimento autodenominado altermundialista. Das marchas de protestos cada vez mais constantes nasceu o projeto do Fórum Social Mundial (2001). Considerado por seus entusiastas como o novo protagonista da esquerda do século XXI, esse movimento, não obstante proclame a necessidade de construção de um outro mundo, alega diferenciar-se na sua forma de ação, organização e projeto de transformação da chamada esquerda tradicional. É nesse sentido que o altermundialismo é apresentado por parte da literatura como um movimento plural e não hierárquico no qual encontrar-se-iam reunidos diferentes grupos sociais em nome de questões amplas e universais que transcenderiam os limites colocados pelos interesses de uma classe. A prova disso estaria sobretudo na diversidade de suas demandas que incluiriam, além de justiça social, a igualdade de gênero, a liberdade de orientação sexual, a preservação ambiental e a paz mundial. Ocorre que enquetes recentes sobre o perfil de seus militantes atestam reiteradamente a superepresentação de determinados setores das classes médias. Esta tese propõe-se a analisar o problema da transformação social trazido à tona pelo altermundialismo. Tendo por objeto de estudo a ATTAC (Associação pela Tributação das Transações Financeiras para o Apoio aos Cidadãos), uma das entidades mais atuantes do movimento, buscamos responder algumas questões que podem ser agrupadas em dois eixos intimamente relacionados: o primeiro, refere-se ao programa político da associação; à sua forma de organização e composição social; bem como às possíveis relações entre esses três elementos; o segundo refere-se à natureza desse outro mundo proposto e aos avanços e limites dessa proposição frente às mudanças advindas com o neoliberalismo
Abstract: Over the second half of the 1990s emerged in several countries Headquarters meetings of multilateral organizations such as the WTO, the IMF and the World Bank, expressions of opposition to neoliberal policies, resulting in the initiation of a new movement selfappointed alterglobalization. Demonstration protests increasingly constant gave rise to the project of the World Social Forum (2001). Considered by their enthusiasts as the protagonist of the new 21st century left, this movement, despite proclaiming the need to build another world, argues differentiate themselves in the form of action, project organization and transformation of traditional left. In this sense the alterglobalism is presented by part of the literature as a plural and non-hierarchic movement, in which it could be congregate different social groups on behalf of broad and universal issues that would transcend the limits placed by the interests of a class. Proof of this would be especially in diversity of their demands that would include, in addition to social justice, gender equality, freedom of sexual orientation, environmental preservation and world peace. Nevertheless, recent polls about the profile of the alterglobalists militants continually attest an over-representation of certain middle-class sectors. This thesis aims to analyze the problem of social transformation brought to light by altermundialism movement. Taking as object of study the ATTAC (Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and Aid to Citizens), one of the most actuating entities in the movement, we seek to answer some questions which could be grouped in two axes, both closely related. The first one, centered at ATTAC, makes reference to their: political program; way of organization; social composition; and to the possible relationship between these three elements. The second one makes reference: to the nature of that other world proposed by the movement; the advances and limits of this proposition in face of the changes arising from neoliberalism

Pełny tekst źródłaEsta pesquisa está inserida no campo de estudos sobre gestão pública, em especial aquele relativo ao desenvolvimento de estratégias governamentais. No campo teórico, o trabalho pretendeu contribuir para uma melhor compreensão da Estratégia Como Prática, entendendo-a como abordagem relevante ao desenvolvimento e consecução dos objetivos estratégicos. Já no campo empírico, o trabalho buscou desenvolver um estudo de caso múltiplo - concernente às três Superintendências do Patrimônio da União na região Sul do Brasil - pretendendo interpretar, face a teoria abordada, os resultados obtidos quanto ao indicador do Plano Plurianual 2008-2011: "Taxa de Crescimento da Arrecadação Patrimonial", na visão da Média Gerência dessas Superintendências. Desta forma, associando as pretensões teórica e empírica, essa pesquisa teve por objetivo geral identificar e analisar como se desenvolve o processo de Strategizing nas Superintendências, na visão dos Superintendentes e dos Chefes das Divisões de Receitas Patrimoniais, quanto aos resultados obtidos no indicador do Plano Plurianual 2008-2011: "Taxa de Crescimento da Arrecadação Patrimonial". Para atingir o objetivo elencado e entendendo a dinamicidade característica das ciências sociais aplicadas, foram associadas as seguintes táticas de investigação apropriadas ao caso proposto: (i) a coleta de dados mediante a realização de entrevistas semi-estruturadas e a pesquisa em documentos; (ii) a análise dos dados coletados por meio da Codificação Temática e Análise de Conteúdo; e (iii) a validação da pesquisa face os critérios de validade do construto, de validade interna e externa, e de confiabilidade da pesquisa empreendida. A utilização das diversas fontes de dados e de métodos, visaram obter a necessária triangulação e assim reduzir os vieses decorrentes de uma única fonte. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa se classifica nos seguintes termos: fenomenológica; qualitativa; exploratória; transversal; estudo de caso múltiplo quanto à estratégia de pesquisa; e concernente à coleta de dados, mediante a realização de entrevistas semi-estruturadas e pesquisa documental. O pressuposto adotado na pesquisa admite que o desenvolvimento de estratégias como prática social, é o resultado da intersecção entre os Praticantes, as Práticas e a Práxis, chamada Strategizing, conforme defendido nos trabalhos de Richard Whittington e Paula Jarzabkowski. A partir desse pressuposto, pretendeu-se compreender - considerada a abordagem da Estratégia Como Prática, bem como o caso empírico investigado nas Superintendências - como se desenvolveu o Strategizing na visão da Média Gerência das três Superintendências na região Sul do Brasil. Alcançados os objetivos do presente estudo, foi possível supor que um modelo de gestão pública, que comporte a adoção da abordagem da Estratégia Como Prática, auxilie o processo de desenvolvimento de estratégias governamentais pretendidas no planejamento plurianual das políticas públicas.
This research is embedded in the field of studies on public management, especially that concerning the development of government strategies. In theoretical, the work aims to contribute to a better understanding of strategy as practice, understanding how to approach relevant to the development and achievement of strategic objectives. In the empirical field, the study aimed to develop a multiple case study - concerning the three superintendents Heritage Union in Southern Brazil - intending to interpret, given the theory discussed, the results obtained for the indicator of the Multi-Year Plan 2008-2011: "Revenue Growth Rate Sheet" in the vision of the Middle Management of these superintendents. Thus, combining the theoretical and empirical claims, this study aimed at identifying and analyzing how it develops in the process of Strategizing Superintendents, Superintendents of the vision and the Heads of the Divisions of Revenue Equity in the results obtained in the indicator of the Plan 2008-2011 Multi-Year: "Revenue Growth Rate Sheet". To achieve the objective part listed and understanding the dynamics characteristic of applied social sciences, were associated with the following tactics appropriate to the research proposed case: (i) collect data by conducting semi-structured interviews and research documents, (ii) analysis of data collected through coding and thematic content analysis, and (iii) the validation of the research against the criteria of validity of the construct of internal and external validity, and reliability of the research undertaken. The use of multiple data sources and methods aimed at obtaining the necessary triangulation and thus reduce the bias resulting from a single source. Methodologically, the research is classified as follows: phenomenological, qualitative, exploratory cross-sectional, multiple case study on the research strategy, and concerning the collection of data by conducting semi-structured interviews and documentary research. The assumption adopted in the research acknowledges that the development strategy as social practice, is the result of the intersection of Practitioners, Practices and Praxis, called Strategizing, as advocated in the works of Richard Whittington and Paula Jarzabkowski. From this assumption, we sought to understand - considered the approach of the Strategy as Practice, as well as empirical case investigated in the superintendency - Strategizing how to develop the vision of the Middle Management of the three superintendents in southern Brazil. Achieved the objectives of this study, we assume that a public management model that entails the adoption of the Strategy as Practice approach, assist the process of development of government strategies intended for the multiyear planning of public policies.

During the research, we tried to develop a dynamic and practical description of the daily life of workers observed in “technologically dense environments” (Bruni 2005; Bruni & Gherardi 2007), who live habitually during their work activities. The “narrative” of these working environments has fostered understanding the operation of the “technological infrastructure” (Gherardi 2007) of the team in charge of managing the presence of that multinational on social media. So we observed that this technological infrastructure is completely different from those observed in the 90s of XX century by many scholars (Joseph 1994; Heath e Luff 1992; Suchman 1997; 2000; Star 1999; Grosjean 2004). The motivation behind our work is two-folded: first, finding events that are not covered by mainstream media and second, studying the interest that users show for certain types of events. In order to solve our problem, we start from a graph based characterization of the data in which nodes represent words and edges count word co-occurrences. Density is a very good measure of importance and cohesiveness in graphs. Taking into account the special properties of real-word networks, we can develop algorithms that efficiently solve hard problems. The contributions of this thesis are: devising efficient algorithms for computing different types of dense subgraphs in real-world graphs, presenting a novel dense subgraph definition and providing an efficient graph-based algorithm for event detection

Pełny tekst źródłaO notório crescimento da violência praticada por jovens de classe média, exposto pelos meios de comunicação, contradiz-se com a exigüidade de estudos acadêmicos voltados a esse segmento. As análises centram-se preponderantemente nos territórios da pobreza. Este trabalho realiza uma análise da violência através do significado que jovens de classe média, autores de ato infracional, imprimem ao fenômeno. A ampliação do entendimento da violência remete-se à análise de suas verdadeiras raízes, ancoradas na sociedade capitalista e nas transformações politicoeconômicas e socioculturais decorrentes da globalização que gestam uma nova forma de sociabilidade pautada no individualismo e no esvaziamento da alteridade. Através de uma abordagem qualitativa que utiliza como técnica de análise dos dados a análise de conteúdo de entrevistas semi-estruturadas, a pesquisa empírica foi realizada com sete jovens de classe média, entre 16 e 21 anos, que cumpriram medidas socioeducativas em meio aberto (Liberdade Assistida e Prestação de Serviços à Comunidade) junto à Vara de Infância e Juventude de Vitória ES. A análise dos conteúdos colhidos foi realizada no interior de quatro eixos temáticos: juventude; família; estudo, trabalho, projeto para o futuro e violência, sendo que, na complementaridade entre os temas, buscouse extrair as mediações presentes iluminadoras do significado da violência. Ao estudarmos a violência, enquanto expressão objetiva e subjetiva, não só protagonizada por jovens das classes populares, mas também por jovens de classes sociais favorecidas, percebemos características de sua condição juvenil que os unifica e os expõe aos conflitos históricos surgidos na sociedade contemporânea. De outra parte, o estudo demonstra que a condição de classe do jovem repercute enfática e distintamente no desenho de seu lugar social. Diante do encolhimento do público, a privatização das soluções pela família, no interior de recursos e capacidades díspares, definirá e consolidará sua trajetória

In the Middle Rio Negro region specifically in the municipality of Barcelos AM, fishing became the main economic activity. In this region we find four types of fishing sport fishing, commercial fishing, fishing ornamental and subsistence fishing that sustain the economy Barcelense throughout the year, with particular emphasis on sport fishing, that each year increases its stake in local economy. Each type of fishing has a kind of fisherman, and these fishermen, with the exception of sports fishermen, are associated with the Colônia de Pescadores de Barcelos Colpesca Z 32, and also the Associação dos Pescadores e Pescadoras do Médio e Alto Rio Negro Ornapesca. This thesis aims to describe the fishing activity in Barcelos municipality; analyze social relations present in different forms of fishing, as well as understand the social conflict between the fishermen of commercial fishing and the other fishermen and social agents involved in fishing.
Na Região do Médio Rio Negro, especificamente no Município de Barcelos AM, a pesca se tornou a principal atividade econômica. Nessa Região, encontram-se quatro modalidades de pesca pesca esportiva, pesca artesanal comercial, pesca artesanal ornamental e pesca de subsistência que sustentam a economia Barcelense durante todo o ano, especialmente a pesca esportiva, que a cada ano se destaca mais na economia local. Cada modalidade de pesca possui um tipo de pescador, e esses agentes, com exceção dos pescadores esportivos, associam-se na Colônia de pescadores de Barcelos Colpesca Z-32, e na Associação dos Pescadores e Pescadoras Ornamentais do Médio e Alto Rio Negro Ornapesca. Com esta dissertação, objetiva-se descrever a atividade da pesca no Município Barcelos; analisar as relações sociais presentes nas diversas modalidades de pesca, bem como compreender o conflito social entre os pescadores artesanais da pesca comercial e os demais pescadores e agentes sociais envolvidos nessa atividade.

O presente trabalho teve como principal objetivo compreender as representações sociais de alunos e professores do ensino médio sobre indisciplina escolar. Além de analisar as causas e as conseqüências atribuídas pelos diferentes sujeitos à indisciplina, buscou-se compreender em que se ancoram as representações dos grupos investigados, como são objetivadas essas representações e quais as práticas que os sujeitos desenvolvem para lidar com a indisciplina. Na tentativa de compreender as teorias de senso comum de cada um desses grupos de sujeitos, foi usada a teoria das representações sociais, e algumas das possibilidades metodológicas que ela permite. Nesta perspectiva teórica, as representações sociais são teorias construídas e compartilhadas coletivamente que dão sentido a determinados objetos, orientam o comportamento e a relação social das pessoas, além de justificar as práticas relativas a esses objetos. Participaram da pesquisa 251 alunos e 30 professores de duas escolas públicas e duas particulares da cidade do Recife. Todos os sujeitos responderam a um questionário de associação livre e quatro deles foram entrevistados, sendo duas professoras e dois alunos. Os dados foram analisados com o apoio dos softwares EVOC e ALCESTE. A representação social construída pelo grupo configura a indisciplina, prioritariamente, como a demonstração de comportamentos indesejados de alunos, em sua maioria, motivados por características pessoais (desinteresse, idade, má educação). A falta de ou a má educação é apontada como a principal causa. Desta forma, a indisciplina é objetivada em comportamentos como a desatenção, conversas, bagunças e também, na figura do adolescente. Essa representação parece estar ancorada numa idéia de certo controle social, no qual a disciplina tem um papel importante para o desenvolvimento social, ou seja, a sociedade precisa ter regras, e essas regras precisam ser obedecidas para que se tenha ordem e progresso. Essa idéia reflete-se na escola e se concretiza através do controle que a disciplina proporciona. Assim, é possível manter a sala em ordem e ter um melhor aproveitamento escolar quando os alunos se comportam de forma mais adequada. A partir dessa representação, práticas punitivas são privilegiadas no estabelecimento da disciplina. Alguns sujeitos, em proporção menor, visualizaram a indisciplina como uma forma de responder a uma postura inadequada do professor. Nessa perspectiva, práticas mais relacionadas a uma relação de amizade entre professor e aluno foram consideradas

Pełny tekst źródłaOnline Social Networks have taken a huge place in the informational space and are often used for advertising, e-reputation, propaganda, or even manipulation, either by individuals, companies or states. The amount of information makes difficult the human exploitation, while the need for social network analysis remains unsatisfied: trends must be extracted from the posted messages, the user behaviours must be characterised, and the social structure must be identified. To tackle this problem, we propose a system providing analysis tools on three levels. First, the message analysis aims to determine the opinions they bear. Then, the characterisation and evaluation of user accounts is performed thanks to the union of a behavioural profiling method, the study of node importance and position in social graphs and engagement and influence measures. Finally the step of user community detection and evaluation is accomplished. For this last challenge, we introduce thematic cohesion scores, completing the topological, graph-based measures for group quality. This system is then applied on two corpora, extracted from two different online social media. The first is constituted of messages published on Twitter, gathering every activity performed by a set of 5,000 accounts on a long period. The second stems from a ToR-based social network, named Galaxy2, and includes every public action performed on the platform during its uptime. We evaluate the relevance of our system on these two datasets, showing the complementarity of user account characterisation tools (influence, behaviour and role), and user account communities (interaction strength, thematic cohesion), enriching the social graph exploitation with textual content elements

Pełny tekst źródłaRecently, social media data, called Big Social Data (BSD), attract more and more attention from researchers and professionals, particularly after the emergence of Social Media Monitoring (SMM) tools, used to process BSD. The promises associated with the SMM concern the improvement of decision-making processes, or even the transformation of business processes. Despite increasing investments, the effective use of these tools in companies is very variable. In this research, we would like to understand how and for what purposes the SMM tools are used?. For the evaluation of these tools, we build upon the Resource-Based Theory (RBT). In order to implement this research, we used a mixed method approach. This approach consists of a qualitative study that was used to develop and enrich a second quantitative study. The obtained results show that the combination of SMM resources (quality of SMM tool, human resources…) and complementary resources makes it possible to build SMM capabilities (measurement, process, interaction…) leading to performance. Moreover, the support of the organization, and more specifically the role of managers, in the activation of SMM resources and capabilities is consistent with the recent advancements of resource management. However, we detected some ambiguities concerning the RBT. To deal with these ambiguities, we propose to resort to the extended theory of resource. Finally, we present the contributions, the limits and the perspectives of our research
