Pełny tekst źródłaDuring the nineties a network of contemporary art was developped in Thailand. How and why this network has been able to institutionalize itself and has taken away the monopoly of the academic unlike the avant-gardes movements blooming since the sixties? The analysis will show that this practice has obtained a local legitimacy thanks to th links set up by local actors with the international scene. The ways of existences of these links will be examined to question, from the Thai situation, the stakes of the non Western artist's participations to the international world of contemporary art. If they keep a peripheral position which enable them not to take part in the struggle of international classifications, the new growth after the year two thousand show that they try to knock down the balance of power by diversifying their actions towards other types of transnational relations

Pełny tekst źródłaThis research analysis the mobilization of the classicists, specialists of the Graeco-Roman civilization, in the public arena, troughout the twentieth century. It is based on a comparative study undertaken in France and in Great-Britain, especially in England. The corpus studied includes the analysis of sociological studies on the teaching profession, works on comparative intellectual history, interviews with specialists of Antiquity (teachers and academics), as well as the reading of professional reveiws. A prosopographical perspective highlights the role played by various social circles to which the classicists belong : corporate associations (genuine "interests groups"), political clubs, alumni networks. .

Pełny tekst źródłaFor more than ten years, the development of management control practices inpublic sector gave rise to many researches which some, focus on role that accountants play. The aim of this paper is to understand the determinants of management accountants' legitimacy in professional bureaucracies and to define how individuals, who embody this function, had survived in this unfriendly environment. From a case study at the French Atomic Energy Commission, we highlight four profiles of management accountants: the young novice, the new convert, the chameleon and the king's advisor. The results show that the legitimacy of the controllers should not be studied through his generic definition. Instead, it must be considered as a polymorphic judgment based on manifold determinants. It also allows to replace the individual at the center of the study field of the new managerial practices in public organizations

Pełny tekst źródłaThis CIFRE thesis, which is funded by a communication agency, uses a critical perspective to question the professional practices of French digital communication agencies, in particular those using inbound tools and methods. We were more particularly interested in the way they mobilise user-centred design: a notion that they claim and legitimise through their enunciative postures. As the basis of our thinking, we first looked at three types of work in information and communication sciences. The first questions the socio-economic logic of agencies faced with the challenges of UX design. The second relates the process of institutionalising or professionalising communication, which is seen as a tool for the economic development of the organisation. Finally, the third questions professional reconfigurations that can be caused by handling material entities in an organisation. In terms of methodology, we opted for an ethnomethodological approach based on two case studies. It was a question of approaching the issue from the perspective of professionals evolving into two agencies and understanding their practices in relation to the user-centred design. The results initially allow us to perceive the contours of a highly technical design process, guided by tools (mainly designed by Hubspot) which act as architexts. Unlike the legitimation work carried out by its professional group (Inbound Marketing France) on the concepts of user-centred design, their uses are involved in diverting design practices towards “googletisation”. This refers to designing digital communication media and actions during which the designers allow the logical structures and functional precepts of Google to have primacy over the creation process, at the risk of impoverishing the lived experience of the final user. Secondly, our results highlight the radiography of a design activity, which is labelled or forced to adopt a managerial structure to meet the market efficiency imperative of contractors. That said, we are witnessing, against expectations, the response strategies of players who do not merely experience the dominant position of an advertiser on the lookout for the slightest fluctuations in the performance curves of actions and communication media. Actors in agencies use rhetorical figures and forms to provide performance data, including in their interpretations. Third parties are also called in as reinforcements by the actors in the agency, to bring a certain indisputable objectivity to their words. The use of rhetorical forms and figures is not limited to the arrangement and interpretation of data. It is brought in ahead of the process, in particular to distribute the roles assigned to the commissioning team. It takes the form of a design process in which the commissioning team assumes, under the agency's accompanying gaze, the posture of a fully-fledged collaborating actor. Depending on the state of progress of the design process, in some areas this commissioning team has to do the solitary work of formulating its depictions of the end user in question matrices. It also submits solutions capable of advancing this end user along the consumption journey. We have identified this method of agency actors as “sponsorship relationship rhetoric”. In reality, it is an adaptation of these agencies to the process of internalising communication activities set up by their clients

Pełny tekst źródłaThe concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), developed in the US throughout the second half part of the 20th century, is the application of the principles of sustainable development in businesses. Formerly used by the multinational sector only, the concept of CSR has spread nowadays over a large kind of organizations including French professional sports clubs. The purpose of this research is to show, in the continuity of neoinstitutionnalism, that CSR practices in these organizations are primarily answering to goals of legitimating, aiming to make their activities viable towards the expectations of their environment stakeholders. Suggesting a framework, and applying it to four case studies (Elan Chalon, Asvel, AJ Auxerre and Olympique Lyonnais), different CSR behaviours are highlighted. The results of this research stress that CSR practices firstly hold a “cosmetic” nature, in which CSR is not well integrated in the clubs’ global strategies. In a normative approach, numerous prescriptions are established to underline future prospects on the matter of CSR in these organizations

Pełny tekst źródłaSenegal is often looked on as an exception, to the point of being regularly hailed for its socio-politicalstability by an international community quite helpless in front of the troubles of African continent. Yet thistraditional view is far from accounting for the difficulties of the population. In fact the image of a stablecountry conceals an altogether different reality which reminds one of how precarity, and more particularlywork precarity, plays an important part in the lives of the Senegalese, including those who take part in thedevelopment of the public action financed by aid agencies. Such is the impression felt in the speeches ofSenegalese aid workers involved in a project of coastal zone management promoted by the World Bank inthe 2000s. To study the working out of this project provides an example which helps to understand theconsequences their precarity at work can have on the working of the aid-project – today the main form of aidin this country. More specifically it helps to understand how the standards of coastal zone managementpromoted by the World Bank agents are interpreted by these Senegalese people, and why they are justapprehended in speeches often disconnected from the very purpose of these standards. It seems that theirwork precarity has led them to pay more attention to the means of the project rather than to its ends, seekingthereby to improve their own work conditions and so their socio-economic situation

Pełny tekst źródłaSince their creation in 1888, the Alpins form a separate subdivision within the French Army. The primary and specific mission of these territorially very marked units is to defend the Alpine border. In 1962, after two world wars and two decolonization wars, France enters a new era. In response to the threat, the nuclearization of the army is decided by the country. In this context of cold war, the Alpines units are merely territory troops. They become marginalized and hardly find a place as well in the new safety and national defence features as within the Alpins territories which are undergoing profoundchange. However, in 1983, to widespread surprise, the 27e Division Alpine joins the Force d’Action Rapide and takes part in its first external operation. This OPEX (EXternal OPeration) in Lebanon marks a beginning of rebirth for the Alpins. Their operational legitimacy was established by the deployment of mountain soldiers in Yugoslavia in the 1990s and then in Afghanistan in the 2000s. In the XXIth century, the henceforth professional army of the Alps occupies a novel place in the mountain territories and plays a new role to the Alpin societies. Indeed, the struggle for legitimation, appreciation and influence of the “mountain specificity” of the Alpin troops is not to be won on the battlefields only. The search for new traditions in an attempt to rebuild a mountain military identity, the organisation of various ceremonies in the public space, the reconstruction of a common heritage are all weapons in the hands of the 27e Brigade d’Infanterie de Montagne command for the purpose of continuing to exist in spite of the “perpetual reform” of the “Défense française”. The 27e Brigade d'Infanterie de Montagne remains guardian of the traditions of the former Alpins. The 27e BIM stays the emergency brigade of the French land army. Due to its acknowledged operational capabilities, it implements its specific expertise in various theatres, within the national territory or outside

Pełny tekst źródłaThe social economical context characterized by the division of labour favoured the development of c1osed labour markets. The formation of professions is part of this social phenomenon. By controlling internaI and external factors of its economic activity, an occupational group avoids or at least influences in its favour the control exercised by others. It also protects its field of competence from other groups and can even extend it into other spheres. Exercising control over its activity secures professional, social and economical status. This may explain why the formation of professions is so popular. However, such considerations do not necessarily compromise public protection. On the contrary, the legitimatization of an occupational group ensures public protection. A group needs to acquire and maintain not only social recognition of its competence and usefulness but also to legitimise its control. Such legitimacy is required to maintain professional, social and economical status. This explanation to the social phenomenon of formation of professions is based on three sociological views, namely functionalism, interactionism and conflictualism. From these perspectives, the Profèssional Code is first considered. It is followed by the study of the strategies and the arguments of two social groups who hold different views on the formation of professions.
