This paper reports on the findings from focus groups conducted at Texila American University on the attitudes of its medical students towards morning lectures. Students felt that two things were vital for a good lecture: (1) that the lecturer goes beyond what is written in the lecture notes; (2) that the lecture is interactive, by which students meant that the lecturer asks if students understand concepts and adjust the delivery accordingly, and the lecturer answers the students’ questions. The students in the focus groups also discussed what makes for a bad lecture: (1) lecturers reading straight from slides; (2) lecturers who ‘blame the students’ by saying that students don’t work hard enough and are too lazy to turn up to lectures; and (3) lecturers who cover the material too slowly or too quickly. The most prominent reason given for not attending lectures was the timetabling of lectures in such a way that students had too few classes in one day to make the sojourn to university worthwhile and relating to feelings of tiredness each afternoon. Any university seeking to improve attendance at lectures should perhaps look as much to improving its timetabling practices as it does to improve the practices of its individual lecturers. The present reseach featured the effect of the self-presentation strategies used by lecturers on the socio-psychological interpretation of their personality by students at media lectures. The research objective was to define self-presentation strategies that help shape a role model behavior which could be adopted by the students in conditions of direct lecturer – audience interaction. The study focused on two contexts of online interaction. Students in the test group were offered a public media lecture and an out-of-class media lecture given by lecturers they had never seen before. After that, the students were asked to describe the lecrurers using the polar profile technique. Both descriptions showed that the maximum convergence of the image of the lecturer with the reference role model resulted from the strategies of self-aggrandizement and attractive behavior. The strategies of evasion (for women) and power (for men) deviated significantly from the reference role model. These types of behavior had a negative impact on perception. Students gave them lower scores for professional qualities. Public media lectures also demonstrated several significant negative shifts in the lecturer's personality assessment that did not depend on the self-presentation strategies.

One of the challenges of today’s lecturers in training centers for nurses is to teach large classes of over 60 students, maintain eye contact with students, ensure understanding, manage a structured lesson and change it according to the class mood. The lecturer must “feel” the class and, accordingly, conduct the lesson. The lecturer develops these skills over time and experience. Today, most of the lecturers prepare lesson plans using PowerPoint (PPT) presentations. It is a simple, user-friendly software that allows to combine images, videos, text, and graphs. In Israel, students learn to use this software even in elementary schools, but as lecturers there is a considerable gap using this tool, which affects the lecture’s efficiency and quality. New lecturers who use presentation in their lecture do not necessarily know how to properly build a presentation. This may lead to the lecturer and lesson’s low evaluation by the students, claiming the presentation is unclear, confusing, discontinuous. Therefore, the question is whether the organization inviting the lecturer has responsibility for the contents and the way of lecturing? Like a news anchor before reading the news, the editors check the content and how it is written, or before publishing a newspaper article it is reviewed and edited. In Ted lectures, the lecturers are the content experts and the knowledgeable, but before these lecturers go up to the stage and speak, media experts work with them on the presentation and clear and elegant message convey. Thus, it is possible to prevent or influence to a certain extent the lesson’s low assessment by students at least in part of using a presentation. The lecturer is part of the organization, which wants to convey a message to the students that the organization is serious, professional and relevant.This article, will present three new lecturers in one of the largest academic training centers in Israel for nurses, who have prepared lesson plans of their choice using PowerPoint (PPT) software. The problems arose in the presentations preparation will be presented, and as a result, the importance that the academic training center will provide support in feedback to improve lesson plans using this tool before entering the lecture.

This study was conducted to explore the possibilities and limitations of e-sports academization as judged by lecturers in the e-sports industry related theory classes at universities through the autoethnography method. The research results and conclusions revealed through this study can be presented as follows. As an e-sports lecturer, I discovered the following three possibilities of e-sports academization through my introduction of e-sports lectures. First, the necessity of university lectures related to e-sports was confirmed through the responses received before and after the lecture. Second, the possibility of e-sports academization was discovered through positive lecture evaluation and feedback. Third, the leisure characteristics of e-sports were confirmed. Fourth, additional lecture topics derived from e-sports were identified. As a lecturer, I discovered the limitations and difficulties of e-sports academization for the following reasons. First, the limitations of class design due to insufficient academic foundation. Second, negative social views on e-sports itself. The results of this study can help design lectures by providing my experiences to lecturers who want to give theoretical lectures through e-sports in the future.

The Bali Institute of Health Sciences (STIKES) is a higher education institution in the health sector. Education in an institution needs to be monitored especially the lecture process. At present, the process of monitoring lectures is carried out by recording into paper documents. Several problems arise, namely at the end of each semester staff who perform lecture attendance recapitulation must open a sheet per lecturer attendance form sheet. Then from the lecturer attendance form, the staff in charge must type back into the Microsoft Excel application. This resulted in 2 problems, namely the occurrence of delays in reporting and the difficulty of monitoring lectures by Puket I. From these problems a system is needed that is able to provide information on the presence of lecturers and is able to present information on lecture activities in realtime. The design of this system is translated through Data Flow Diagrams and built using PHP language, for display using CSS, and database using MySQL. Testing this system uses blackbox testing. The lecture monitoring information system can display information about the implementation of lectures for Chairperson I Assistant in real time and can facilitate STIKES Bali staff in conducting lecturers' attendance.

This research is to describe the implementation of the lecturer's pedagogic competence in online English teaching at ITB AAS Indonesia during pandemic Covid-19. This research is descriptive qualitative. The result of the analysis shows that the implementation of a lecturer's pedagogic competence in online English teaching consists of three main competencies applied. First, 1) lecturer’s competence in preparing online learning. English lecturer prepares online learning by using e-learning institutions which can be accessed on http://elearning.itbaas.ac.id/. The English lecturer prepares a lecture contract, lesson plans, and syllabus for 1 semester, also teaching materials. The English lecturer also prepares the media of video conferencing in online learning. 2) lecturer’s competence in carrying out online learning. English lecturer teaching English online by using Zoom Meeting and YouTube Live Streaming. The recording and the streaming videos can be accessed on the English lecturer’s YouTube Channel. The students can join Zoom Meeting, YouTube Live Streaming, or both. 3) lecturer’s competence in evaluating online learning. English lecturer evaluates the students’ by giving tasks, mid-term and final tests in writing and reading which are shared in Google Classroom each class to evaluate students’ learning.

Lecturer attendance record is required by the university to know the presence of lecturers in teaching in class. In general condition, lecturer attendance is recorded on the attendance sheet, or input to web application accessed on a class computer. However, there are some problems in its implementation so that at the end, lecturer presence is carried out using a manual form where the academic staff needs to re-enter the lecturer attendance data into the applications. Based on the above, the authors designed and developed a lecturer attendance information system to record lecturers' attendance using radio frequency identification technology by implementing a near field communication card (NFC Card). The device used to record and read presence data during lectures, by tapping an Mi-fare NFC card to an NFC reader / writer device. The flow of this research method begins with a literature study of NFC card, observe the flow of lecture attendance process and data recorded into lecturer attendance sheet, analyzing the database design, the system design which has compatible with NFC reader and writer devices, designed system interface and continue to develop system. The result is system consists of master data, system attendance, verification and reporting module. The results show that NFC card implementation is more practical for lecturers in conducting lecture attendance and NFC card could be tapped out into an NFC device at a maximum distance up to 7 cm with the reading angle relative to NFC reader/writer with range 00 until 300 can read NFC Card.

A consistent challenge with lectures to large audiences is the extent to which the lecturer can develop interaction with the audience. Obtaining answers to the lecturer’s questions or stimulating questions from the audience during the lecture may be hampered by the fact that the lecturer and the audience are not able to hear speakers in the audience clearly. This article reports on an experimental design to test the feasibility of allowing live SMS messaging as a means to stimulate interaction during large lectures. The context concerned lectures on academic writing in bachelor’s programmes in business and economics. Each lecture attracted about 500 students. The students were invited to send text messages to a dedicated phone line connected to a computer, which, at chosen intervals, displayed messages for everyone to see. The set-up allowed the lecturer to switch instantly from slides to the message display. Messages could be easily transferred to an Excel fi le for subsequent processing if necessary. Results showed that students did not use the opportunity as frequently as expected, and most messages were not relevant to the topics of the lectures. In this article, explanations for these outcomes are discussed, and recommendations for further implementation are presented. Using a new technology, even a pervasive one like SMS messaging, in a lecture entails modifications to the design, delivery and content of the lecture itself.

Designing the web based e-Learning System is intended to give a service on the lecture. Lecture can do their teaching activities, delivering the materials and administering it using this e-Learning aplication. From the student side, they have to receive the materials easily from anywhere at anytime. This research have an objective to design a web based e_learning System which give an adequate service supporting the lecturer’s activities. Lecture can use this aplication ti deliver their materials, communicating and interacting with their student, observing the progress of students and give result of learning evaluation from the web. The design and implementation of this e-learning application is based on the requirement of the users. The users consist of lecturer, student, quest, and administrator. The process of aplication design is built within Sistimatical stages. After finishing the design process, the aplication is implemented on the real Sistim. Doing the design testing and functional is to test if the aplication can go well together with design and funtionality.e-Learnign aplication that has been built is designed based on lecturer’s need when doing their lecture’s activities. This e-Learning aplication can be used as contribution for building new aplication or5 improving others that has already exist.

Researching teacher talk during teaching and learning process of English is essential because it offers practical implications for the improvement of teaching and learning process. However, there are still few studies which try to compare types of talk used by lecturers who teach content and skill subjects. This research investigates the types and the dominant types of lecturer talk during the teaching and learning process at an English Education Department. The participants were two English lecturers at a private University in Malang who taught Vocabulary (skill subject) and Poetry (content subject) classes. The researchers used an audio recorder to record the utterances by the lecturers. The data were analyzed qualitatively by using FIAC (Flanders Interaction Analysis Category). The types of lecturer talk produced by the lecturer who taught Vocabulary were Ask question, Give direction, Give lecture, Accept or use students’ idea, Praise or encourage, and Criticize or justify authority. The types of lecturer talk produced by the lecturer who taught Poetry were Give lecture, Ask question, Accept or use students’ idea, Give direction, Praise or encourage, and Criticize or justify authority. The most dominant types of talk produced by the lecturer who taught Vocabulary were Ask question and Give direction but Give lecture was the most dominant types of talk produced by the lecturer who taught Poetry. This finding indicates that types of course taught by lecturers affect the kinds of talk produced by the lecturers.

In an effort to reduce the risk of problems that occur in the assignment of lecturers, it is necessary to make a structured system with the right method. Hungarian method can be said very appropriate for this assignment problem because each course will only be charged to one lecturer. Another advantage of using the hungarian method in this lecturer assignment model is also because it uses the preferences of prospective lecturers as subjects of measurement. Each lecturer will take courses according to their best preferences with the expectation that the lecturer will have more mastery in the courses that he will teach.

Lecturer is the importance essence of the educational activities primarily related to teaching and learning activities. Without the role of the lecturer, the teachinglearning process will be disrupted even fail. Therefore, in education management, performance or achievements of lecturer’s work should be improved consideringthe challenges of education nowadays is to produce human resources quality that capable is of competing in the era of globalization. In subsequent developments, many opinions said that the performance of lecturer will be very much influencedby attitude and behavior, which include employ discipline, job satisfaction, and work motivation. The above description encourages the writer to conduct a research whether the employ discipline, job satisfaction dan work motivation really affect the performance of lecturers at Darma Cendika Surabaya CatholicUniversity. The research objects to be retrieved is the population of permanent lecturers of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University. There are 32 lecturers. Analysis technique used is multiple regression. From the research results obtained that the performance of lecturers of Darma Cendika SurabayaCatholic University is influenced by three independent variables namely employ discipline variable (X1), job satisfaction variable(X2), and work motivation variable (X3). The value of the adjusted coefficient of determination of 87.9%, means that 87.9% of performance of lecturers of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University influenced the employ discipline variable (X1), jobsatisfaction variable (X2), and work motivation variable (X3), while the remaining balance of 12.1% influenced by other factors is not examined by the author. These three independent variables, namely employ discipline (X1), job satisfaction (X2), and work motivation (X3) affect the performance of lecturers are partially or simultaneously. As a result, the variable of work motivation(X3) is the most dominant variable, which affects significantly the performance of lecturers of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University. The results showed that the performance of lectures of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University are good and very good. On the variable of employ discipline (X1), it should benoticed that the work given to the lecturers of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University should in accordance with ability. On the job satisfaction variable (X2), which need to be considered is the satisfaction of a job as a lecture of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University. It has elements of satisfied or proud being a lecturer of Darma Cendika Surabaya Catholic University. On workmotivation variable (X3), the physiological needs (physiological), such as food, drink, shelter, rest and wants to get a job that provides adequate wages is the main point. In the variable of lecturer’s performance (Y), what is need to be paid attention is lecturer’s research for each year.

The learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic is carried out online, students and lecturers carry out lecture activities at their respective homes. Online learning can be carried out using hardware devices (laptops, smartphones, internet) and application software (google classroom, google meet). With both students interacting in online lectures with lecturers, but from some information/news we get that students prefer to study offline rather than online. This study aims to determine student satisfaction in online learning seen from the components of hardware, software and lecturer involvement. The result is that the variable of lecturer involvement has a significant and positive effect on student satisfaction in online learning with a path coefficient value (β) = 0.565. SmartPLS also produces a determination coefficient value of 39%. Exogenous variables affect endogenous variables.

The Learning process at Faculty of Education and Vocational Education (FKIP)) and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) lecturers has been providing materials by displaying lecture materials using projector, as well as writing lecture materials on the blackboard. The student quiz is conducted after several meetings, the students are required to work on and complete the quiz given by the lecturer and then immediately collected after the time is up or finished. To give and collect the task, the lecturer give it during the lecture period and there are also lecturers who give the task at the end of the lecture after the lecturer delivered the lecture material, and the collection is done during the meeting in the class or on the next day schedule in the form of hardcopy so that the lecturer must certain to correct it. To face the problems faced by the Faculty of Education (FKIP) and Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) the authors suggest with the use of electronic-based learning media that is Blended Learning.

Automatic lecture recording is an appealing alternative approach to manually recording lectures in the process of online course making as it can to a large extent save labor cost. The key of the automatic recording system is lecturer tracking, and the existing automatic tracking methods tend to lose the target in the case of lecturer’s rapid movement. This article proposes a lecturer tracking system based on MobileNet-SSD face detection and Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) technology to solve this problem. First, the particle filter algorithm is used to fuse the PDR information with the rotation angle information of the Pan-Tilt camera, which can improve the accuracy of detection under the tracking process. In addition, to improve face detection performance on the edge side, we utilize the OpenVINO toolkit to optimize the inference speed of the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) before deploying the model. Further, when the lecturer is beyond the camera’s field of view, the PDR auxiliary module is enabled to capture the object automatically. We built the entire lecture recording system from scratch and performed the experiments in the real lectures. The experimental results show that our system outperforms the systems without a PDR module in terms of the accuracy and robustness.

One form of technological development is the Internet. With the Internet, we can receive and access information in various formats from all corners of the world. The presence of the Internet provides convenience in the world of education as a learning medium. Based on these conditions, online lecture training is conducted with the aim of improving the learning process during lectures. The training was conducted with the Google classroom application introduction material. The results obtained during the training showed very high lecturer enthusiasm. Training makes lecturers have the ability to better manage lecture materials, can arrange quiz schedules or assignments regularly every week, the ability of lecturers in interpersonal communication also increases with class collaboration.

The lecturer teaching journal is a device that must be provided by the lecturer after teaching. From the lecturer's teaching jural, it can be known data such as lecture material, courses, meetings, days, times, dates and even the number of students either present or permission and absenteeism. With the development of technology makes people think to be able to work more efficiently. One of them is making a conventional system into a computerized system. For this reason, in the design of a teaching journal information system for lecturers using the R&D (research and development) method and the waterfall model, by utilizing web facilities connected to the internet, the aim is to fill lecturer teaching journals efficiently.In this study a web-based information system was designed using DreamWeaver CS6 and XAMPP 3.2.2. Journal information system testing for teaching lecturers uses blackbox, small scale and large scale testing. With this system, it can make it easier to fill teaching journals of lecturers at the PTI Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Unimuda Sorong From the results of research that has been carried out, the writer implements the results of the research into the Information System Design of Lecturer Journal in the Study Program at the PTI Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Unimuda Sorong.

Abstract Research has been conducted to determine the performance characteristics of lecturers based on determinants of service quality in the Department of Mathematics FMIPA of Sam Ratulangi University by using the correspondence analysis. The data used are primary data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to students of academic year 2012/2013 that are 28 courses and 357 respondence. Based on the results of correspondence analysis found that five factors determining the lecturer and the service has a significant relationship. There is a relationship between the lecture and five factor determinants of service that can be seen through the results of the correspondence analysis plot. Diversity is explained by the plot of 90.71%. Objects or lecturer adjacent to one variable (reliability) is a Lecturer 4, Lecturer 8, Lecturer 11 and Lecturer 14. Objects that are adjacent to the two variables (responsiveness) is Lecturer 7, Lecturer 9, Lecturer 12, Lecturer 15 and Lecturer 17. Objects adjacent to the three variables (collateral) is Lecture 2, Lecture 6, Lecture 8, Lecturer 16 and Lecturer 21. Furthermore, Lecture 1, Lecture 3, Lecture 5, Lecture 6, Lecture 15, Lecture 18, and Lecturer 20 are approaching four variables (empathy). Lecturer 3, Lecturer 5, Lecturer 9, Lecturer 12, Lecturer 15, Lecturer 17 and Lecturer 18 are objects that are close to five variables (direct evidence). This shows the closeness between the lecture and five factor determinants of service. . Keywords : Correspondence Analysis, Lecturer, Student, Service Abstrak Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik kinerja dosen berdasarkan faktor penentu mutu pelayanan di Jurusan FMIPA UNSRAT dengan menggunakan Analisis Korespondensi. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh melalui pembagian kuesioner kepada mahasiswa tahun ajaran 2012/2013 yakni sebanyak 28 mata kuliah dan 357 jumlah responden. Berdasarkan hasil analisis korespondensi diperoleh bahwa dosen dan lima faktor penentuan pelayanan memiliki hubungan yang signifikan. Terdapat hubungan antara dosen dan lima faktor penentu pelayanan yang dapat dilihat melalui hasil plot analisis korespondensi. Keragaman yang diterangkan oleh plotnya sebesar 90,71%. Objek-objek atau dosen yang berdekatan pada variabel satu (kehandalan) adalah Dosen 4, Dosen 8, Dosen 11, dan Dosen 14. Objek- objek yang berdekatan dengan variabel dua (daya tanggap) adalah Dosen 7, Dosen 9, Dosen 12, Dosen 15, dan Dosen 17. Objek-objek yang berdekatan dengan variabel tiga (jaminan) adalah Dosen 2, Dosen 6, Dosen 8, Dosen 16 dan Dosen 21. Selanjutnya, Dosen 1, Dosen 3, Dosen 5, Dosen 6, Dosen 15, Dosen 18, dan Dosen 20 mendekati variabel empat (empati). Based on these conditions, online lecture training is conducted with the aim of improving the learning process during lectures. The training is carried out with Google classroom application material and the creation of learning video content. Using Google classroom can give students access to online learning. The training is carried out by direct practice using each lecturer's notebook. The results obtained during the training showed very high lecturer enthusiasm. The training makes the lecturers have the ability to better manage the lecture material, the skills of lecturers also increase by doing the practice directly. The ability of lecturers in interpersonal communication also increases with class collaboration. Through training can make changes in cognitive abilities, motor skills, values ??of affection, emotional values, and spiritual values.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon related to PAI lecturer performance that is not optimal yet. The government has issued policies to improve the quality of lecturers as an effort to improve the quality of education through the improvement of welfare. However, conditions in the field show that some lecturers who have received the professional allowance have not shown any significant performance improvement. Some lecturers who have very good competence sometimes not followed by high performance, this is reflected from the results of the lecturer's performance.The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the level of competence and performance of lecturers of PAI in Padang city (2) to analyze efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers in Padang city (3) to find the level of competence influence on PAI lecturer performance in Padang city.This research is a quantitative type with survey method and correlational approach. The population is PAI lecturers at state universities in the city of Padang totaling 30 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Data collection techniques used were the dissemination of questionnaires, documentation and literature study. While the data analysis technique used is the normality test Kolmogorof Smirnov method. Test validity using Product Moment Pearson correlation formula. Test reliability using Alpha Cronbach and processing analysis using SPSS version 15.The research findings are: (1) the actual condition of PAI lecturer competence in public universities in Padang city is generally quite good (TCR = 3,93 / 5,00 or = 76,98%) whereas actual condition of teaching performance of lecturer PAI lecturers at state universities in Padang city were in good condition (TCR = 3.81 / 5.00 or = 69.64 %). (2) The efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers according to the authors include: Planning the development of lecturer's performance, organizing lecturer performance assessment, conducting lecturer performance assessment with sustainability, supervising the performance of lecturers as well as following up the results of lecturer performance assessment. (3) there is a significant positive correlation between lecturer competence and lecturer performance of 22,3 %, meaning competence contribute to lecturer performance.Suggested to the lecturers of PAI to improve the competence to produce performance as expected. The various parties who have responsibility to improve the performance of lecturers are expected to give attention to the increased competence of PAI lecturers in order to give a significant influence in order to improve the quality of national education.

This elementary school learning media development program aims to provide a picture of improving the quality of learning media product creation for prospective elementary teacher students after carrying out lesson study activities based on the Lecturer Expertise area in the <em>PGSD FKIP Unswagati</em> Cirebon study program. The research method uses descriptive methods. The study population was second-year students prospective teachers of the FKIP <em>Unswagati</em> Elementary School in Cirebon. The expectation of this program is an increase in the ability of lecturers to plan lectures to improve better, the ability of lecturers to implement lectures is expected to be even better. Through this program Lecturers are expected to be able to create a more interesting lecture process. Can make students more active and creative in exploring to produce elementary school learning products that are creative, innovative and fun. This program encourages lecturers to have a well-organized learning structure. Teaching skills such as mastery of the material, use of lecturing media, classroom management, questioning skills and motivating skills of students are trained in this program through the principle of collegiality. Lesson study activities have the potential to increase lecturer professionalism which has an impact on improving the quality of the process and results of lectures. The results obtained from this study were an increase in the quality of lectures conducted by collegial learning based on collegiality of lecturers' colleagues in teaching which was facilitated in the lesson study program.

Presence is significant for every lecture, office or other organizational activities, currently recording the attendance of student lectures at Mercu Buana University by calling one student at a time to be present by the lecturer, then the lecturer giving a sign of attendance on the particular lecturer application form that has provided. The purpose of this study is to analyze and develop RFID-based mobile UMB, which has the benefit of students being able to attend their presence without having to wait for lecturers to attend the attendance process and students can find out the level of time delay so that it can become learning so as not to delay in the future. The method used in this study uses a SWOT analysis and then designed with a system using UML, the construction of this application using the Waterfall method, and testing using a BlackBox. The results of this study are the development of modules in the UMB Mobile application successfully implemented with RFID devices.

AbstractThe importance and amount of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) usage and English Medium Instruction (EMI) lectures continue to increase on university campuses as universities worldwide seek to promote internationalization among both the student body and the faculty. While EMI has become a priority, the teaching and learning that occurs within this framework needs to be monitored for effectiveness and efficiency. Many of the teachers and students in these EMI courses do not share a common first language and likely have a first language other than English. Therefore, they are operating in EMI with varying levels of second language (L2) English ability, which can lead to low levels of student comprehension, learning and satisfaction unless the lecturer takes special care in their delivery of content. This paper explores the linguistic composition of EMI lectures in the Swedish context and reports survey findings of students’ self-reported levels of comprehension related to lecture content and their lecturer’s L2 English use. Three case studies are described and illustrate various linguistic factors that can contribute to or inhibit student comprehension in EMI lectures. Pedagogic implications are presented with the intention of supporting EMI lecturers and their students.

Lecturers are one of the main actors in universities. Lecturer performance can affect the quality of a college. Because the quality of higher education is strongly influenced by the lecturers, the performance of the lecturers needs to be assessed. Lecturer performance can be assessed by evaluating the lecturer's performance in teaching. Lecturer performance can be evaluated by classifying student assessments of lecturers. Lecturers are assessed based on how the lecturer mastered the material, the lecturer's discipline in teaching, and the presentation of the material. The process of grouping lecturer scores can be done using the K-Means algorithm. K-Means is a popular clustering algorithm that performs well. K-Means requires a parameter that is K or the number of clusters. The importance of the number of clusters so that there is a need for optimization in determining the number of K. In this study, optimization was carried out using the Elbow method so as to produce the ideal number of groups of 4 groups. The results of the clustering evaluation calculated using the SSE were 54.4% which showed that the results were not optimal. The results of the cluster evaluation are not optimal due to the lack of data for the K-Means application.

The current research examined the possibility of applying a real student-centered method in EFL classes of the English department at Cihan University-Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. To this end, six lectures with different lecturers, different levels and also different subjects were observed in the English department of Cihan university. Some interviews were done with the lecturers and students before and after the lectures randomly in order to get some point from their views toward this novel method. The obtained data revealed that implementing a pure student-centered lecture is impossible and the lecturer need to apply a kind of eclectic method which is the mixture of student-centered and teacher-centered methods in such EFL classrooms.

In a study conducted at the Copenhagen Business School, 1,794 students completed questionnaires on lectures given by 31 non-native English-speaking lecturers in 12 EMI programmes. They were asked to rate the lecture, the lecturer and the lecturer’s language. Statistical analyses revealed a correlation between the students’ perceptions of the lecturers’ general lecturing competence (defined as knowledge of subject and teaching skills) and their perceptions of their English language proficiency (Jensen et al. 2013). In return for their assistance, each lecturer received a feedback sheet on how to improve their communicative effectiveness. The feedback was given by experienced tutors of English who had extensive experience of teaching and assessing English in an everyday ELF context. This paper sets out to investigate what sort of recommendations were provided, concentrating on the 24 lecturers whose L1 was Danish. An examination of the tutors’ comments showed that they could be divided into two main categories: formal language skills and pragmatic or metadiscursive features. The observations on language features are presented using a slightly adapted version of Lavelle’s (2008) “good-enough-to-teach-model”, whilst the comments on metadiscourse could be divided into four categories: sequential structure, hierarchical structure, connectives, and “fillers”. Although some ELF research has suggested that effectiveness in ELF settings depends more on pragmatic ability than on language proficiency (Björkman 2010; Jenkins et al. 2011: 301), the analyses of the tutors’ comments to the 24 lecturers in the present study show that both aspects should be attributed importance.

This research is motivated by several problems related to the not-yet optimal implementation of the performance assessment of tri dharma lecturers and work behavior on the ISB Atma Luhur campus. The importance of this research is because the tri dharma lecturer performance appraisal system and work behavior are useful for study program accreditation and university accreditation. The purpose of this study is to make lecturers responsible for the tri dharma and work behavior. The method used in this study is the ANFIS logic method. The results of this study are in the form of a lecturer's report card or a lecturer's performance assessment for one semester issued by SPMI. The variables used are education and teaching 40%, research 20%, dedication 10%, and work behavior 30%. The main result is the report card for each lecturer. The main finding from the lecturers' report cards, a decision can be made for SPMI to reprimand lecturers whose lecturers report cards to fall into the category of "BAD" lecturer performance. The average teaching value obtained is 3,624 plus the research value is 2,920 plus the service value is 2,800 plus work behavior, the value is 2,908. Lecturer performance value = 0.4 teaching plus 0.2 research plus 0.1 community service plus 0.3 work behavior. Equals 1.450 plus 0.584 plus 0.280 plus 0.872 equals 3.186. So the performance value of this lecturer is included in the category of "GOOD" lecturer performance.

This study aimed to gather the perception of students regarding online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, on the aspect of the existence of teaching lecturers and interactions between lecturers and students. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method. The sources of data were observation data, students' interview results, and documentation of online lecture activities. The results showed that the existence of teaching lecturers in online learning was going well. This was proven by the lecturer providing planning of teaching materials according to the learning objectives but not providing the lecture syllabus, explaining the lecture contract to students at the beginning of the lecture, and providing the lecture schedule which was carried out by the lecturer being present on time. The results of research on the interaction between lecturers and students showed positive results. However, there were also things that needed to be improved, such as the internet network.

Lecturer Workload (BKD) is a portrait of the lecturer workload in the implementation of University’s Tri Dharma in the next semester. In college academic activities, the reporting of Lecturer Workload (BKD) is important because it is concerned with the productivity of lecturer’s performance. The lecturer workload is commensurate with a minimum of 12 credits and a maximum of 16 credits in each semester in accordance with academic qualifications. The Department of Industrial Engineering of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur has implemented a manual lecturer workload reporting system and indirectly the high potential obstacles to the evaluation process. So that in its application Lecturer Workload reporting (BKD) must be able to facilitate between lecturers, assessors and head of department in coordination. This research aims to produce Lecturer Workload Information System (BKD) effectively and efficiently. The design of this system uses the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method. From the results obtained, the output of this system is that lecturers report their performance online, assessors can verify files easily, and study programs can monitor lecturers' performance. It is hoped that the Lecturer Workload Information System (BKD) can help the Industrial Engineering Study Program of the East Java National Veterans Development University in conducting the lecturer workload reporting process (BKD)

Setiap Dosen memiliki tugas utama terkait dengan tridharma yaitu Pendidikan dan Pengajaran, Penelitian, Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM), dan Penunjang Tridharma. Dokumen yang digunakan banyak dan harus disimpan dengan rapi di ruang kerja untuk keperluan kegiatan Dosen seperti Beban Kerja Dosen (BKD) dan kepangkatan. Hasil penelitian pendahuluan menunjukkan sebanyak 62,5% Dosen menyatakan kesulitan dalam menyimpan dokumen di ruang kerja dan sebanyak 81,25% menyatakan perlu adanya perbaikan di ruang kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ruang kerja Dosen dan penataan dokumen menggunakan metode 5S. Penelitian diawali dengan penguraian aktivitas Dosen dan pengelompokkan dokumen, perancangan ruang kerja dan fasilitas penyimpanan dokumen, identifikasi kondisi awal ruang kerja, penerapan 5S dan evaluasi hasil rancangan menggunakan Office 5S Audit Checklist. Penelitian ini menghasilkan penataan dokumen yang tersusun rapi berdasarkan prinsip 5S, rancangan almari dengan kriteria biaya yang tidak terlalu mahal, ukuran dan desain disesuaikan dengan ukuran ruangan dan dokumen yang akan disimpan. Hasil penilaian performansi 5S di ruang kerja Dosen sebelum penerapan 5S diperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 56,83 dengan kategori rating fair, dan setelah penerapan 5S skor rata-rata menjadi 92 dengan kategori rating excellent yang menunjukan peningkatan sebesar 50%. Abstract[Planning Lecturer Working Room and Document Arrangement Using 5S Method In Department Industrial Engineering, Trisakti University] Every lecturer has main duty to fulfill Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi which are Education and Teaching, Research and PKM. All of the documents must be stored in order to easier the lecturer to necessity of BKD and raising the grade. The preliminary research about the lecture’s working room, the result stated that as much as 62.5% lectures have difficulties to store the documents in their working room. Several lecturers stated that the facilities such as board is unappropriate. Another 81.25% of lecturers stated is necessary to improve the system to store the documents their working room.The purpose of this research is to design the lecture’s working room and organize the documents using 5S method. The research is began with describing of lecturer activities and documents grouping, designing of lecturer’s room and facility of documents storage, initial identification of lecturer’s room, application of 5S method and evaluation of this application. This reseach has result of document structuring based on 5S method, document board which have criterion such as cheaper price, size and design appropriate with the room and documents will be stored. The result of 5S performance in lecturer’s room before using 5S method id 56.83 which is fair category, and after using 5S the score is increase become 92 which is excellent catogory. This study aims to explore the process of lecturing Arabic by implementing a combination of singing and playing strategies. As for the main problems in this study are: (1) what is the process of implementing a combination of singing and playing strategies in Arabic lectures for Tadris Biology Study Program students? (2 how do their perceptions of the results of Arabic lectures by combining the two strategies?. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of a combination of singing and playing strategies uses the following steps: (1) The lecturer started the Arabic lecture by singing Arabic songs that the Lecturer got while still teaching Arabic at the Al-Azhar Pare Institute, Kediri, East Java, (2) The lecturer explained the theme of the material and the purpose of the lecture to be held, (3) The lecturer implemented the "Memory Game" which was adopted from the book "99 Games in Arabic Language Learning. Researchers also found that 80.6% (29 students) and 19.4% (7 students) of the 36 TBG study program students who participated in lectures gave very positive responses.

Learning in the Covid-19 era requires lecturers and students not to study in the same place. This condition is a new challenge for lecturers and students to continue implementing effective learning using a suitable approach that is blended learning. This research is a preliminary study to determine the difficulties of lecturers in implementing blended learning at Department of Physics Education, FKIP – Universitas Syiah Kuala. The method used in this research is a survey using a questionnaire containing 30 statements. The indicators measured in this study were 9 (nine) indicators from 2 aspects, namely the readiness and skills of lecturers in implementing blended learning in the Covid-19 era. The questionnaire was distributed to 15 lecturers in the Department of Physics Education, and the results of the responses obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the analysis show that 29.23% of lecturers are not ready to apply the blended learning approach because 53.85% of lecturers rarely access the internet and learning platforms to facilitate lecture activities, so they are not used to using it. 44% of lecturers are not yet skilled in using learning platforms which are shown by 46.16% of lecturers having difficulty changing the general appearance of the virtual class, and 46.15% of lecturers have difficulty interacting using the learning platform. These difficulties are the obstacles for lecturers to apply the blended learning approach in lecture activities, so it is necessary to immediately find solutions to help the lecturer difficulties so that lectures in the Covid-19 era continue to run effectively like previous lectures.Keywords: Blended Learning, Covid-19, Lecturer Difficulties, Obstacles

The population of this research is Lecturer of Civil Servant who has obtained certification at Private Higher Education in Makassar City with 200 lecturer samples chosen by multistage sampling through accident method by using Structural Equation Model (SEM) technique. The results showed that: (1) leadership had positive and significant influence on lecturer competence, (2) leadership had positive and significant impact of lecturer's performance, (3) capability has a positive and significant effect on the lecturer's performance, and (4 ) leadership had positive and significant impact on lecturer performance through capability .

One way to measure the performance of lecturers through the assessment of student’s perception on the performance of lecturers in conducting lectures. By using Bayesian estimation, parameter test is used to estimate the lecturer's performance appraisal model to see how big the influence of each competence on lecturer's performance. Structural equality matrix: pedagogic competence, professional competence, personality competence, and social competence are represented in the equation </em> . <em>The results showed that the four competencies had a positive influence on lecturer performance, with the greatest influence given by pedagogic competence, followed by professional competence, personality competence, and social competence.</em><em></em></p><p> </p><p>Kinerja dosen merupakan perilaku nyata yang ditampilkan setiap dosen sebagai prestasi kerja yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan peranannya. Salah satu cara untuk mengukur kinerja dosen melalui penilaian persepsional mahasiswa terhadap kinerja dosen dalam melaksanakan perkuliahan. Dengan menggunakan estimasi Bayesian dilakukan pengujian parameter untuk mengestimasi model penilaian kinerja dosen untuk melihat seberapa besar pengaruh masing-masing kompetensi terhadap kinerja dosen. Competence is one of the important parts of brand study, while brand it is a part of the marketing that has an important position by selling product and services. So brand itself not only for the company, it can also manage individual brands, public figures, and lecturer. This research aimed for determining the use of blogs as a medium to support the competence of lecturers from the aspect trustworthiness, commitment, ability to develop themselves practicing a profession, and a limiting factor in building the competence of lecturers. This research uses a qualitative approach with a single case study through observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and literature. The study found that lecturer use blogs to share lectures, ideas about contemporary events, and upload Islamic articles. Lecturer assessed reliably, because the lecturer writing on a blog is the result of his work, and a lot of consultation requests from various circles. The lecturer is committed to making a change for the better in every way when communicating via blog to maintain conformity with the words of his behavior, and lecturer has the ability to develop themselves in their profession as a lecturer, that gives him the strength to continue working.

The essential factor in achieving a good learning process is discipline in the lecture process. Students and lecturers are encouraged to be disciplined and active participants in the lecture process, allowing the Lecturer's principal duty of transforming and disseminating science and technology to become more concentrated. Furthermore, to eliminate overlapping lecture schedules, lecture hours, and lecture venues that do not meet needs, it is easier for stakeholders to monitor and regulate lecturers' and students' lecture attendance so that quick and accurate decision-making can be done. To establish discipline in school utilizing biometric identification technology (fingerprints) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, developing application software to make it easier to manage work schedules is required. The Work Scheduling program is an online application built with the PHP programming language, MySQL database, and fingerprint and RFID identification support devices that are expected to be effective and efficient tools in the process of scheduling lectures and recording lecture attendance of students and lecturers, making it easier to publish lecture schedules.

The roles, duties and responsibilities of lecturers are very important in educating the nation's life and national goals. There are many problems that cause the performance of lecturers at universities in Indonesia. Meanwhile, lecturers are required to give good performance. In this case, the researcher is interested in evaluating the performance of lecturers using the promethee method. The promethee method is able to produce decisions based on comparisons between alternatives according to the preference function and the different weights of each criterion. The criteria used in the assessment of lecturer performance are 10 criteria with 7 alternative lecturers. The Promethee method produces recommendations for lecturers with the best performance, namely Lecturer E who has a net flow value of 0.12153. While the lecturer with the lowest performance assessment is Lecturer B with a net flow value of -0.19167. The results of the decisions given by the promethee method can help provide an assessment of the lecturer's performance from the several alternatives given. The purpose of this study is to optimize the the lecturing schedule using the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm. The method developed will find an optimal solution of lecturing schedule where there are some limitations that must be considered. These limitations include being a lecturer or a class that can only be scheduled to lecture a maximum of two times in a row. Another limitation is that two adjacent level may not be scheduled at the same time, because there is a possibility that students will repeat a lecture. The third limitation is that there should be no lecturers or classes that conduct lectures with too high a frequency one day. And the fourth limitation is the alternative time where lecturers can teach will be limited due to other activities that must be carried out by the lecturer. So that the course scheduling case can be solved using the ACO algorithm, a graph is made where each node is the name of the course that must be scheduled. The path created by the ants from the initial node to the end node will contain the order of courses that must be carried out one week. Based on the test results, the ACO algorithm has succeeded in scheduling courses involving 38 subjects, 4 class forces, 6 recovery locations and 12 lecturers supporting the courses. The scheduling solution obtained has a fitness value of 0.0092. Where there are no lecturers who have a high teaching frequency one day, but there are 12 class schedules that cause a class to follow a high frequency of lectures. And there are 4 courses scheduled to be close together. This final performance is considered quite good and shows that ACO has been successfully used to optimize course scheduling.

As per the increase in students of the Masters Program, they will also increase the number of hours / lecture schedule. Willingness and readiness for lecturers make it difficult to determine the appropriate lecture schedule. In addition, the difficulty of making the lecture schedule is because there is still no automated system that can specifically schedule lectures. Limitations of available classrooms allow clash of schedules between classes and the complexity of scheduling courses is also experienced when 1 (one) course can be managed by 3 (three) lecturers (lecturer team). This causes a large number of errors in the scheduling process which results in collisions and delays in scheduling so that the learning and teaching process will be hampered if the scheduling process is still manual. This is important for an implementation to help the scheduling process in order to optimize collisions or collision schedules in the lecture process that occurs in the faculty. The results showed 93% of respondents from the aspects of the system, user aspects, and interaction aspects of designing and implementing a lecture scheduling system using genetic algorithms stated that it was very helpful and easy to apply as a tool to assist the process of optimizing lecture scheduling to minimize schedule clashes in lectures in the Masters Program.

As the role of students and lecturers in higher education changes, several questions emerge about the role of each of them on students’ academic performance. This includes questions regarding the impact of the relationships between students, lecturer’s characteristics and the social environment on students’ performance. To address these questions, this article reports a study of the impact of lecturer authentic leadership, psychological safety and network density on academic performance. It explores the relationship between network density, psychological safety and lecturer authentic leadership. A questionnaire was distributed to undergraduate students. A positive impact of lecturer authentic leadership and psychological safety on academic performance was found. Students from high-density groups tended to show better academic performance, higher psychological safety and tended to see their lecturers as being more authentic. A reflection on the role of the lecturer in higher education settings is presented. It also presents some recommendations on how student academic performance can be improved by the adoption of specific behaviours by their lecturer.

This type of research uses descriptive-qualitative methods. The target of the study was the Non-Permanent Lecturers who gave lectures to the Department of Biology Education, FTK Radin Intan Lampung. The results of the study: 1) the ability of lecturers in developing learning through learning strategies has not been clearly explained the use of methods, media, and time used; 2) the ability of lecturers in developing learning through ability in compiling evaluation tools, the content of questions still oriented to the material has not been much referring to indicators of achievement; 3) the ability of lecturers in developing learning through the ability to compile teaching materials as a whole still using textbooks; 4) the ability of the lecturer to develop learning through attitudes towards the lecturer profession as a whole has been able to show the attitude of the professional lecturer.

High learning motivation is influenced by some factors from intrinsic factor (in self) and extrinsic factor. This study aims to describe the intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors in learning motivation. This is a descriptive design study with quota random sampling. 90 respondents were involved in this study. Results of intrinsic factors measured by interest in the field of knowledge studied: 47.8% of respondents collect tasks given in accordance with the time set, and 41.1% of respondents diligently follow the lecture. The results of the study of extrinsic factors are measured by the quality of lecturers who teach: 51.1% of lecturers often provide questions clearly and briefly. Based on the method of lecturing: simulation methods in the laboratory often increase the motivation to learn. Based on the lecture’s room: 57.8% stated that a clean lecture’s room can improve the concentration of learning. Based on the complete book in the library: 47.8% encourage respondents to do the task quickly. Based on the learning facilities: 47.8% are always motivated to learn if the lecturer uses LCD. Support of parents (76.7%) in meeting the needs of respondents in learning.The management of nursing education is suggested to motivate students during lectures based on intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. Service of teaching and learning process of quality and professional will affect hope and feeling of satisfaction for student to spirit in follow lecture. Performance appraisal according to the favorite lecturer selection guidelines are (a) giving the syllabus at the beginning of the semester, (b) teaching on time, (c) mastering the taught material, (d) correcting assignments and timely grades and (e) serving academic guidance students well. Lecturers who can be elected are a lecturer who have given lectures on all courses in the department at least two semesters and are not currently following the learning task and has provided academic guidance services at least two semesters. Because there is no objective method to decide better and faster, based on existing data. Making the information system that can provide recommendations needed a proper method of decision making. Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is appropriate for the decision-making process because it can determine the weight value for each attribute, then proceed to the ranking process that will select the best alternative from some of the best alternatives.

This study aims to develop lecturer performance appraisal model using web-based Integrated Evaluation Model (IEM). The object of this study is certified lecturers in Indonesia, by applying this model, the certification compensation given by the government is really used to enhance lecturer's performance. It is expected that the results of this study can be an important research that produces effective and efficient software to evaluate the lecturers' performance nationally because it involves a 360degree assessment. We have done some activities to develop the prototype software application of Integrated Evaluation Model (IEM) for assessing the certified lecturer's performance. They are 1) preparing the questionnaire indicator for the 360 degree performance appraisal, 2) conduct the program test on the certified lecturer. In this phase, certified lecturers, superior, and students also conduct assessment on certified lecturers through IEM software, 3) conduct Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to gain evaluation and feedback on the effectiveness of the IEM application program. FGD results provide a valuable contribution to the preparation of IEM program design. And the IEM software produced in this research has accommodated all of the results of FGD activities. IEM complements the prior certified lecturer performance appraisal with 360 degrees performance appraisal.
