Pál Kozma, a scientist famous throughout Europe for his work on vines, was born into a poor peasant family in the small village of Gyulaháza in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County in Eastern Hungary on 11 July 1920. Despite his thirst for knowledge, he was obliged to interrupt his studies on several occasions due to the poverty of his family, and it was not until 1947 that he finally graduated from the University of Agriculture with a first class honours degree in agriculture, specialising in horticulture and vine-growing. The following year he obtained his teaching diploma, again with first-class honours. In 1947 he started work as an assistant inspector of viticulture in Tarcal, later moving to the Technical College for Horticulture and Viticulture in Miklóstelep, where he was employed as a teacher and viticulture inspector. From 1949 onwards he worked in the Department of Viticulture at the Faculty of Horticulture and Viticulture of the University of Agricultural Sciences, filling the post of Head of Department from 1960 until he retired in 1990. From 1962-1965 he was Vice-Rector of the University, followed by six years as Rector from 1965-1971. The basic and applied research he carried out from 1948 onwards gave a new direction to viticulture. His field of research included the flowering biology of the vine (flower morphology, histology, divergence and evolution of flower types, special types of fertilisation and grape formation in various flower types, light and electron microscope studies on morphological traits), vine breeding through selection and crossing (intra- and interspecific hybrids of white and red wine grapes and table grape varieties), leaf analysis for the study of the organic and mineral metabolism of vines and the diagnosis of optimum nutrient supplies, transpiration, the physiological effects of cultivation and pruning methods, the physiology of vine branches, improved technologies for the cultivation of table grapes, and the history of viticulture. In addition to the success he achieved in scientific research, he was also an excellent teacher. His students left the university with a high standard of knowledge and many of them distinguished themselves in later life. In recognition of his achievements he was given many awards, including the State Prize in 1975 and the Order of the Hungarian Republic in 1990. He received a prize from the publishers for his books entitled "Table Grapes" in 1962 and "Vines and Their Cultivation I-II" in 1994. He also received a number of international awards, including the OIV Prize (1964, 1994), the Humboldt Memorial Plaque (1968) and the Hegel Medal, Berlin (1970). He was a member of the Editorial Committee of Acta Agronomica Hungarica from 1967 to 1994 and Chief Editor from 1995 to 2000. Those who were privileged to know Pál Kozma found him to be a good-humoured and extremely well-informed man, with an enormous thirst for new knowledge and the determination which had stood him in good stead in his rise from the depths of poverty to the heights of an academic career. He was not only highly intelligent, but also extremely hard-working, never allowing difficulties to hinder him in his quest for knowledge. He will be sadly missed, but his influence will remain with us in his books and in the work of the experts he trained so well.

Eighty-five cultivars, selections and clones of winegrapes (Vitis) from European breeding and selection programs were evaluated between 1993–95 in a randomized completeblock experiment. These included selections from Alzey, Freiburg, Geilweilerhof, Geisenheim, Weinsberg, and Würzburg (Germany); Hungary; and the former USSR. Vines were grown under an organic management regime that included sodium silicate sprays for powdery mildew (Uncinula necator) control and oil + detergent for insect control but with little to no nitrogen or other nutritional inputs. The Weinsberg cultivars Heroldrebe and Helfensteiner showed promise viticulturally and sensorially as alternatives to `Pinot noir'. Cultivars from Geisenheim (`Gm 7117-10' and `Gm 7117-26') and Würzburg (`Cantaro' and `Fontanara') appeared promising as `Riesling' alternatives; many displayed similar sensory characteristics to `Riesling', along with reasonable viticultural performance. Cultivars selected at Alzey (`Faberrebe'), Freiburg (`Nobling'), and Weinsberg (`Holder') displayed sensory characteristics superior to the standard cultivar Müller-Thurgau, with very intense muscat, pear, fig, and spicy aromas and flavors. Several muscat-flavored Hungarian white wine cultivars appeared to be superior viticulturally and sensorially to the standard `Csabagyongye'; these included `Kozma Palne Muscotaly', `Zefir', and `Zengo'. Miscellaneous red wine cultivars that showed promise included Geilweilerhof cultivar Regent, and Hungarian selections Kozma 55 and Kozma 525. Vine yields decreased substantially in the 3-year evaluation period, primarily due to lack of nitrogen. Many of these cultivars appeared to be highly adaptable to viticultural regions where cold winters and low heat units during fruit maturation presently restrict cultivar choices.

Kozma Ákost az alapvető jogok biztosává, aki korábban a Független Rendészeti Panasztestület elnök-helyettese volt. A hivatal vezetését 2019. szeptember 26-án vette át elődjétől. Megválasztásakor programként fogalmazta meg, hogy az emberek ombudsmanja kíván lenni, különös hangsúlyt helyez a jövőben a gyermekek, elesettek jogainak védelmére, és hivatali tevékenységéről minél szélesebb körben szeretné tájékoztatni a nyilvánosságot. Az elmúlt időszak igazolni látszik a vállalt elképzelések megvalósulását. Az egyébként is összetett ombudsmani feladatok 2020. február 27-ét követően, amikor is megszűnt a Független Rendészeti Panasztestület, tovább bővültek, ugyanis a rendőrségi panaszügyek vizsgálata is az alapvető jogok biztosához került. A magyar ombudsman aktívan bekapcsolódott a nemzetközi szakmai életbe is számos fórumon keresztül. Climate change represents an undeniable threat to traditional viticulture in many areas of the world. Although an increase of average surface temperatures is expected in the future, late frost occurrences are predicted to be an actual challenge, being budburst the critical stage during which cold hardiness levels dramatically decrease and frost vulnerability is at its maximum. Genomic DNA methylation is known as an important mechanism for gene expression regulation. A sub-group of epigenetic regulators named DEMETER-like DNA demethylases (DMLs) has been shown to be involved in budbreak regulation in Populus trichocarpa. In this study, buds of two Vitis cultivars, Fleurtai (Friulano × Kozma 20-3) and UD 31-103 (Merlot × Kozma 20-3), characterized by different levels of resistance to winter freezing temperatures, were sampled during the 2019/2020 winter season. Cold hardiness dynamics were monitored with differential thermal analysis (DTA) at regular intervals. Expression levels of two putative grapevine DEMETER homologs were investigated during natural dormancy conditions. Results show dissimilar deacclimation rates in the two varieties. As observed in other woody species, putative grapevine DEMETERs show downregulation and upregulation trends hinting at a potential involvement in grapevine dormancy release.

Commercial wine grape (Vitis sp.) production in northwestern New Mexico and the greater Four Corners region is now supported by four wineries. The challenges of growing grape vines in northwestern New Mexico include cold winter temperatures and killing spring frosts exacerbated by a semiarid climate and elevations exceeding 1700 m. Nineteen nongrafted European wine grape (Vitis vinifera) and interspecific hybrid wine grape cultivars were planted in 2007 and evaluated between 2010 and 2012. Among European wine grape cultivars, Agria, Malbec, Sangiovese, Viognier, Müller-Thurgau, and Sauvignon Blanc performed poorly or failed altogether. Interspecific hybrid cultivars Baco Noir, Kozma 55, Leon Millot, Chardonel, Seyval Blanc, Siegfried, Traminette, Valvin Muscat, and Vidal Blanc showed greater adaptability to a high-elevation intermountain western U.S. site, yielding on greater than 71% of their vines in each year (except Kozma 55 which only produced on 38% of its vines in 2012 due to severe spring frost damage). We speculate that fruit-bearing shoots on these vines arose from latent buds that survived when primary buds were killed from spring frost events. Once vines were established, grape berry sugar and pH appeared to be within acceptable ranges (3-year mean above 21% soluble solids and juice pH of 3.2), suggesting regional potential to produce favorable wines within acceptable commercial wine grape production ranges. Selection of sites without considerable frost risk and other mesoclimate variances is critical when considering vineyard establishment at high-elevation locations.

This paper explores the interface between digital technologies and the teaching labour process in Australian higher education. We develop an adaptation of the seminal Clark (1983, 1994, 2001) and Kozma (1991, 1994) debate about whether technology merely delivers educational content unchanged – technology as the ‘delivery truck’ – or whether education is changed as a result of using different technologies – education as ‘groceries’. Our adaptation is an extension of this metaphor to include the academic teacher as the driver of the grocery truck. With the implementation of new educational technologies, the human resource management aspects of job design, motivation, skilling and work identity are often overlooked, with critical debate about the impact on the teaching labour process seldom considered. In this argument, we will unpack the Clark-Kozma dichotomy of the education/technology interface by looking beyond the embedding of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Australian higher education to examine more broadly the changes to the traditional academic role as the creator, developer and delivery agent of the educational groceries. This has been reinforced by the marketisation of the sector and the concomitant reconfiguration of the traditional teaching process. All this has led to changes in the sense of work identity for academics (McShane, 2006). While we embrace ICT as a potential benefit for both students and academic teachers, we seek to ensure that the ‘truck driver’s’ evolving role is acknowledged in scholarly debates and included in models of learning and teaching if long-term sustainable work practices are to be achieved. One such model is offered.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, curriculum planners are giving more weightage to online learning. However, it would be incomplete to re-imagine curricula without considering the factors impacting learning. In this context, the ‘Great Media Debate’ (GMD), initiated between Richard Clark and Robert Kozma in the 1990s, discusses the factors influencing learning. While Clark focuses on instructional methods, Kozma posits that both methods and media impact learning. Our study re-visits the GMD in the present context of online learning and extends it, making it more heuristic by adding a specific contextual social factor, i.e., Availability and Accessibility of the Internet (A2I) at the individual/ household level to the debate. We build our proposition based on the 11,489 learners’ responses collected as a part of the Pan-IIT study in India and focus on the case study of one specific institution, IIT Jammu. The analysis using chi-square tests, Fisher’s exact tests, and descriptive statistics finds strong evidence for A2I to impact online learning, thereby broadening the GMD. A2I also influences the media by shaping the learners’ preferences for the media used in traditional classrooms. Finally, it brings out the rural-urban divide due to unequal internet distribution, raising the possibility of a more exclusionary curriculum for the learners. We conclude that there is a need for the contextual social factor, i.e., A2I, among others, to be strongly acknowledged in the GMD, enabling it to take a more comprehensive form and consequently, holding the potential to enrich the curricular reimagination.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the internal form of the Tula dialect word kuzyutka, meaning brownie. Analysis of the internal form allows detecting a hidden, symbolic meaning of the word (A. N. Afanasyev, A. A. Potebnya, V. N. Toporov). More broadly, the paper addresses the problem of the etymological significance of the semantically syncretic (M. V. Pimenova) root of kuz-, which is the basis of a number of root words and the source of several symbolic meanings of the brownie. The analysis has revealed three variants of the etymology of the word Kuzyutka: 1) from the Russian Kuzma, identified by folk etymology with the blacksmith and ascending to the name of St. Cosmas; 2) from the dialect word kuzyukat (and its variants) with the meaning “to tickle, making ‘horns’ with fingers,” which goes back to the Turkic koza ; 3) from Turkic kuzov. All three meanings are united by common symbolic meanings ‘fertility’, ‘prosperity’, ‘children’, ‘marriage’, ‘needlework’ related to the lexical background and have cultural and mythological value. The choice of the most probable version - kuzutka as a diminutive version of Kozma - is justified by sociological statistics and ethnographic data processed using the cartographic method. From ancient times, Dubensky area, where the word was fixed, and its surroundings were famous for blacksmithing. That is why there is a very high concentration of the temple consecrated in honor of St. Cosmas and Damian - the patrons of the blacksmiths

The article analyzes the role of the art collection of the Moscow Old Believer merchant, publisher and textile manufacturer Kozma Terentyevich Soldatenkov (1818-1901) in the formation of the Moscow Public and Rumyantsev Museums. One of the earliest Moscow collections was assembled by Soldatenkov for nearly 50 years, and was exhibited in his mansion on Myasnitskaya Street. It included works of Russian and Western European art of the mid- and second half of the 19th century. After the collector died in 1901, in accordance with his will, the collection was transferred to the Moscow Public and Rumyantsev Museums. However, the collector’s desire to exhibit his collection in the same room was not achieved due to a lack of space in the museum: the collection was divided into two parts. This continued despite the construction of a separate building for the Museum’s art gallery on Starovagankovsky Pereulok. Although the Soldatenkov Collection was a significant part of Moscow’s art culture during the period in question, its owner was well known in the second half of the 19th century thanks to his publishing activity and patronage of art, and took part in the foundation of the Rumyantsev Museum. Archive materials, including the collection’s catalogues, and documents from the manuscript department of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, allow us to conclude that the staff of the Rumyantsev Museum was interested in the scientific grouping and classification of works according to aesthetic and chronological categories. Thus, the museumization of the collection was a new stage in its history and contributed to the formation of the attitude towards Soldatenkov’s collection in subsequent years as a significant phenomenon in Moscow’s art culture, including the scientific community.

Összefoglaló. A társadalmi innovációt és közösségi tanulást kutatók általában társadalmi méretű természeti katasztrófákból indulnak ki (Moulaert et al. 2013: 113–130). Mi a járványt próbáljuk úgy tekinteni, mint az egész közösséget érő kihívást, amely új tanulásokat és innovációkat eredményez (Márkus–Kozma 2019: 5–17). Paradigmatikus kutatási módszerünk a résztvevő megfigyelés (Moulaert–MacCallum 2019: 115–120). Ezt kiegészítjük a szociális média elemzésével, valamint célzott interjúkkal és folyamatos monitorozással. Az események lefutására példaként az oktatást (tanárokat, tanulókat, szülőket és fönntartókat) használtuk. Négy lakossági csoportot és jellegzetes magatartásaikat sikerült körvonalaznunk a kormányzat mint aktor mellett: a „lojálisakat”, a „vádaskodókat”, az „aktívakat” és az „innovatívakat”. Az oktatásügy története a járványveszély idején változó dinamikát mutat. A járványveszély kihirdetésekor a civilek innovativitása fellángolt; ezt azonban a kormányzati adminisztráció később fokozatosan visszaszorította. A kívánatos ezzel szemben a felek partnersége lett volna. Summary. Researchers of social innovation and community (social) learning usually start their analyses from natural disasters (Moulaert et al. 2013: 113–130). In this paper, we defined the first six weeks of pandemic threat (COVID-19) in Hungary as a community-wide challenge that resulted in new learning and innovation (Márkus–Kozma 2019: 5–17). We choose participatory observation as the main research method (Moulaert–MacCallum 2019: 115–120) which was complemented by social media analysis as well as targeted interviews and ongoing monitoring. We used education (teachers, students, parents and owners of institutions) as an example. We outlined four population groups and their typical attitudes towards the government’s anti-virus education policy: the “loyal”, the “accuser”, the “active” and the “innovative”. The education policy showed changing dynamics at the time of the epidemic threat. When the threat was announced, the innovativeness of civilians flared up; however, this was later gradually suppressed by government decisions. The desired, on the other hand, would have been a partnership between the parties.

A hazai közművelődésben megvalósuló kulturális tanulás magába foglalja mindazokat a nem formális, illetve informális tanulási eseményeket, amelyek részben a saját, részben a partneri kezdeményezések révén az egyes közművelődési intézményekben létrejönnek (vö. Juhász–Szabó 2016; Kozma et al. 2015). Ezek a tanulási alkalmak aktív (rendszeres és nem rendszeres művelődési formák szervezői, szolgáltatói, résztvevői), illetve passzív (külső szervek tevékenységei, alapterületből kizárólagossággal átengedett területi, terembérlési, helyszínbiztosítási) formában valósulnak meg a helyi közösségek igényeinek, szükségleteinek figyelembevételével. A területspecifikus igényekre és adottságokra építő közművelődésben megvalósuló kulturális tanulás hátránykompenzáló, esélyteremtő funkciói empirikus vizsgálatunk alapján beazonosíthatók. A lokalitást célzó, a helyi művelődő közösségeket központba helyező szakmai szemlélet a vizsgálati eredmények tükrében a közművelődés csúcsintézményeiben (N = 197) még további fejlesztési kezdeményezéseket igényel, de regionálisan már eredménnyel mérhető.

A Gál Ferenc Egyetem Marczell Mihály Speciális Pedagógiai Kutatócsoportja 2020 májusában már végzett egy nagymintás kutatást. Ennek eredményeit számos tanulmányban már közöltük. A kutatás menetét korábbi tanulmányban már bemutattuk (Kozma és mtsai, 2020). A 2020. évi munkánkat követően ezúttal (szintén online) két mérőeszközt fejlesztettünk. Az egyik kérdőívvel a pedagógusok tapasztalatiról gyűjtöttük az adatokat, a másikkal pedig a szülőket kérdeztük meg. A célunk ezzel a mérőeszközcsomag-fejlesztésével az volt, hogy az adatokat matematikai statisztikai vizsgálatok elvégzésével összevethessük és a mélyebb összefüggéseket feltárjuk, ami a karanténban eltöltött életvitel és az ezzel járó tanítási/tanulási kihívásokat illeti. A kérdőív fejlesztése 2021. májusában zárult és az adatfelvételre ebben a hónapban és júniusban került sor. A kérdőívet 267 szülő és 239 pedagógus töltötte ki. A kitöltők többsége, mint a 2020-as kutatás során is többsége nő volt. A tanulmányban a két kérdőívet mutatjuk be.

There are many outstanding biographies of Avram Iancu (1824–1872), as the revolutionary fighter holds an important place in the Romanian ‘Pantheon,’ the latest being Silviu Dragomir’s book of 1965. However, the attempts to approach his personality from the perspective of the history of mentalities have been conspicuously missing. This is precisely the approach chosen for the present study, which is based on the document collections published in the last half century (especially Documente privind Revoluția de la 1848 în Țările Române. C. Transilvania, including the fabulous volume 10, dedicated to Ancheta Kozma în Munții Apuseni, 2012). The testimonies of Iancu’s contemporaries, as well as the rich folklore, reveal an unknown facet of the hero, not only providing additional information on the events of the 1848–1849 Revolution, but also highlighting the revolutionary’s ideology, inner motivations and intimate drives.

Az iskola, mint társadalmi mobilitási csatorna szerepe a későbbi életesélyek szempontjából széleskörűen alátámasztott, ezáltal vitathatatlan (Bernstein, 1996; Kozma, 1975; Bourdieu, 1978; Ferge, 1980). A korai iskolai szelekciós mechanizmusok – melyek oki hátterét változatos „magyarázó elvek” adják – a további életút fontos állomásainak egymásutániságát is többnyire határozottan előre vázolják. Az enyhén értelmi fogyatékos tanulók számára létrehozott alapfokú oktatást nyújtó intézménytípus szinte a megalakulásától kezdve éles társadalmi viták középpontjában állt, mely egyrészt a szóban forgó fogyatékosság nem evidens jellegéből, ezáltal meghatározásának, diagnosztizálásának nehézségéből, másrészt a többségi intézményekben működő pedagógiai gyakorlat megfigyeléséből táplálkozott. A bemeneti oldallal kapcsolatos szelekciós problémák mellett azonban felmerül az a kérdés is, hogy hogyan hat mindez a kimeneti oldalra, vagyis a beiskolázás milyen következményekkel jár a fiatal későbbi életútjára, társadalmi beilleszkedésére nézve (Szabóné, 2008; Lányiné, 1985). Jelen tanulmány a fenti kérdések egy szeletének megválaszolására vállalkozik azáltal, hogy bemutatja egy 2019-ben lezajlott, egykor az eltérő tantervű általános iskolában tanuló, ma már felnőtt személyek megkeresésével történt kvalitatív élettörténeti kutatás néhány eredményét.

Статья посвящена реконструкции древнего рельефа территории Тверского кремля. Использованы данные об отметках поверхности материка, полученные при проведении археологических исследований и геобурения. В результате анализа полученных данных выявлена самая высокая точка кремля, располагавшаяся примерно в центральной части площадки, где в XII-XIII вв. находилась церковь Козьмы и Дамиана, а с 1285 г. - главный храм Твери - Спасо-Преображенский собор. Выявлена подольная часть кремля к северу от холма, значительные понижения площадки кремля к западу и югу. Очевидно, древний рельеф обусловил границы крепости, а также расположение главного храма города. The article presents the results of archaeological together with geological drilling data analysis on ancient relief of Tver kremlin territory. The research shows that a sandy hill was situated in the centre of future kremlin, where the church of Kozma and Damian, then the Cathedral of the Our Saviour Transfiguration were built. The ancient surface of the kremlin territory considerably descended to the north, west and south. Evidently the ancient relief of that ground determined the situation of kremlin's fortification line.

Abstract The truss of the Roman Catholic Church of the holy Kozma and Damian was managed to date to the year 1470/71d. It represents one of the few well-preserved medieval structures in this region. The form of roofs is a typical for rafter collar-beam construction without stiffening frame. The geometrical analysis of the main roofs trusses is based on logical dependencies and a description of a process in the truss design, pointing to evaluative relations resulting especially from the Pythagorean Geometry. Consequently, a spatial numerical model of the roof structure was developed in order to perform a static analysis of the roof structure in accordance with present standards. Due to the fact that during the diagnostic survey there were noted some missing structural elements in the roof construction (angle braces), in further analysis, an attention was paid to the importance of the selected structural elements and their role in the construction of the truss itself.

Abstract This article explores the significance of religious material culture for identity processes during times of surveillance and persecution under Albania’s communist regime, especially after 1967. At that time, the anti-religious actions of the state intensified, leading to Albania’s proclamation as the first world-wide atheist state in its 1976 Constitution. This article comparatively explores two religious artifacts and the stories of the faithful who preserved and used them in religious life. These two artifacts are the relic and reliquary of the skull of St. Nikodemos of Vithkuq, preserved in the house of Ilia Koçi in Berat, and the aer of Fr. Kozma Qirjo, kept and used by him in the course of his underground activity as a priest at his village, Bestrovë, and elsewhere. With the help of these two case studies contextualized in the theoretical frame of this work, the article demonstrates how surveillance and prosecution mobilizes identity processes that often act in dissidence to the political establishment.

RÉSUMÉCet ouvrage porte sur la conceptualisation, la mesure et la prédiction du bien-être psychologique. Il constitue, en effet, le fruit d'un programme systématique de recherche mené par les auteurs et débouche sur l'élaboration d'un modèle compréhensif et rigoureusement vérifiable du bien-être psychologique. Partant d'un déblayage et d'une organisation conceptuelle de la notion du bien-être psychologique, les auteurs décrivent et évaluent ensuite les principaux instruments de mesure. Les composantes du bien-être sont analysées, pour arriver à la conclusion que le bien-être psychologique est composé d'une dimension affective stable et d'une dimension affective transitoire. Vient ensuite une recension de la recherche sur les prédicteurs psychologiques, sociaux et environnementaux du bien-être. Le modèle théorique proposé dans la conclusion incorpore les aspects situationnels et les dimensions caractérielles. Les auteurs tentent une application des connaissances sur le bien-être psychologique à l'intervention clinique et communautaire ainsi qu'à l'élaboration de politiques sociales.

The problem of Old Russian sources’ using in historical dramas by A. N. Ostrovsky has been raised many times in literary studies. However, the works devoted to the study of the changes made in the second version of the play “Kozma Zakharyich Minin, Sukhoruk” did not include an analysis of differences in the approach to ancient Russian materials. The article provides the comparative analysis of playwright versions in terms of the use of facts, images, stylistic means dating back to the Russian medieval monuments. The analysis of the texts led to the conclusions that about the reducing the number of historical facts and of direct arrangments of Old Russian texts, therefore, the sequence and the details of the narration decreased in the second version. The monologues of the characters reflecting the religious views of the Middle Ages were removed, so the ideological and psychological motivation of character’s actions became weaker. The love line, nonexistent in the sources, became consistent and complete. The role of some fictional characters associated with the Old Russian tradition has changed. As a result, in the second version the personal destinies of historical and fictional characters came to the fore instead of the epoch-making events of the 17th century. Rearranging of the accents changed the genre of the play: from a “dramatic chronicle” it turned into a historical drama.

Young people involved in higher education have created a specific culture, to which, in addition to their studies, social and cultural activities associated with university life are also related (Kozma, 2006). Among these activities, student employment and participation in civic organizations should be highlighted. Voluntary and paid work among higher education students is increasing. These activities have several advantages in terms of future benefits; however, the attracting role of the labour market is one possible reason for dropout. In our current research, we emphasize the role of employment and civil activity in the development of student dropout. Masevičiūtė et al. (2018) found that a quarter of students stopped studying for work-related reasons. In addition, a negative perception of the marketability of the course they are on may lead to the interruption of university studies. In our study, we analysed the extent to which students are willing to interrupt their higher education studies in exchange for voluntary work. In our current research, we examined how often and for what reasons students who dropped out did paid work and volunteering during their studies.

The last observations (until April 1993) of SN 1987A made at ESO, La Silla, are presented. Our data show that: (i) the criterion of line shifts proves that dust is still present and is absorbing more strongly than ever; (ii) the I magnitude decreases faster than the other ones after day ∼1700; (iii) the 1.3mm flux is constant at about 9mJy, and comes most probably from free-free emission produced by the cooling of the former star envelope still weakly ionized. Previous analyses of the bolometric light curve until day 1444 are briefly reviewed. In spite of the large uncertainties, the flattening of the light curve, observed after day ∼900, extends until our latest data points (day 2172). This can be explained by theoretical models including time-dependent effects due to long recombination and cooling times (Fransson and Kozma 1993). However, one cannot rule out the presence of a compact object such as a neutron star, radiating as a pulsar or accreting matter from a disk either continuously or intermittently.

Denemede 7 farklı uygulama (kontrol, toprağa 200 g/da, toprağa 400 g/da, toprağa + taraklanma öncesi dönemde yaprağa, taraklanma öncesi dönemde + çiçeklenme başlangıcı döneminde yaprağa, taraklanma öncesi dönemde + çiçeklenme öncesi dönemde + çiçeklenme döneminde yaprağa, çiçeklenme öncesi dönemde + çiçeklenme döneminde yaprağa) yer almıştır. Çinko uygulamalarının kütlü pamuk verimi, ilk el kütlü oranı ve çırçır randımanı üzerine önemli etkisinin olduğu belirlenmiş ve uygulamalar arasında önemli istatistiki farklılıklar elde edilmiştir. Koza açma süresi, bitki boyu, odun dalı sayısı, meyve dalı sayısı, koza sayısı, ilk meyve dalı boğum sayısı, boğum sayısı, boy/nod oranı, koza ağırlığı, koza kütlü ağırlığı ve 100 tohum ağırlığı bakımından ise farklılıkların önemli olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Peak clipping is a common form of distortion in hearing aids and can reduce the subjective quality of the amplified speech. In a previous study involving listeners with normal hearing Kates & Kozma-Spytek, 1994), the effect of peak clipping on speech quality ratings was studied using sentence test materials that were filtered using three different frequency response contours and then clipped at four different clipping levels. The present study extends the quality ratings to include those from a group of listeners having moderate to profound hearing impairments. The experimental results indicate that the clipping level, and the interaction of the frequency-response shaping with the clipping level, significantly affects speech quality. It is also shown that the distortion effects on speech quality for the listeners with impaired hearing can be modeled by a distortion index computed from the magnitude-squared coherence of the speech-processing system in response to a shaped-noise input signal. The distortion-index weights derived for the group of listeners with impaired hearing, however, differ substantially from those derived for listeners with normal hearing, and substantial inter-listener variation was also observed.
