Abstract In undertaking his 1919––21 revision of Otto Jahn's monumental W. A. Mozart, Hermann Abert argued the case for a complete overhaul of that book's allegedly outmoded methodology and content; and in keeping with the purportedly sweeping extent of his revision, Abert represented himself, confusingly, as both author and editor of the new edition. The stage was thus set for general acceptance of an erroneous notion that Abert had all but completely dismantled Jahn's book and erected a new one in its place. Reinforcing this persisting yet patently false impression, the recently published English edition, prepared by Cliff Eisen and translated by Stewart Spencer, omits the original author's name altogether from the title page, effectively completing the unjustified transfer of authorship from Jahn to Abert——unjustified in that despite Abert's claims of drastic revision, unacknowledged correspondences with the original are virtually ubiquitous. Comparison of pre- and post-Abert editions reveals the previously unrecognized extent of the later scholar's reliance on his predecessor. In addition to retaining Jahn's many-layered, elegant structure for the book, Abert has lifted many passages almost verbatim; and there are numerous others where he has merely rephrased Jahn's ideas without significantly altering the original content. Paradoxically, given Abert's wholesale expropriations, we may regard his celebrated endeavor to modernize Jahn as evidence for the enduring vitality of Jahn's extraordinary accomplishment.

AbstractMunakataite, Pb2Cu2(Se4+O3)(SO4)(OH)4, has been found in association with a variety of rare secondary Te minerals at Otto Mountain, San Bernardino County, California, USA. It is very rare and occurs as subparallel bundles of blue needles up to 1 mm long. Electron microprobe analyses provided the empirical formula Pb1.96Cu1.60[(Se0.894+S0.11)∑1O3](SO4)[(OH)3.34(H2O)0.66]∑4- Munakataite is mono-clinic, space group P21/m, with cell parameters a = 9.8023(26), b = 5.6751(14), c = 9.2811(25) Å, β = 102.443(6), V = 504.2(2) Å3 and Z = 2. The crystal structure, solved by direct methods and refined to R1 = 0.0308 for 544 Fo > 4σF reflections, consists of Jahn-Teller-distorted Cu2+O6 square bipyramids. which form chains along b by sharing trans edges across their square planes. The chains are decorated by SO4 tetrahedra and Se4+O3 pyramids, which bond to apical corners of adjacent bipyramids. The chains are linked to one another via bonds to two different PbO9 polyhedra, only one of which exhibits one-sided coordination typical of Pb2+ with a stereochemically active 6s2 lone-electron-pair. Munakataite is isostructural with schmiederite and the structure is closely related to that of linarite.

Ilzene is one of the territories in the North-Eastern region of Latvia inhabited by Estonians called leivs. The language spoken in Ilzene and other surrounding parishes is Southern Estonian. The aim of the article is to investigate the first names in 1826 found in the territory inhabited by leivs in Ilzene manor, trying to find out whether the traces of southern Estonians can also be found in personal names. The main source of the research is the 1826 List of Souls of Vidzeme Province, Ilzene Manor (LVVA Fund No. 199, Description 1, Case 159), which includes information on 1013 persons (476 men and 537 women). The most common forenames that occur in more than 5% of Ilzene manor men are Jahn – 84 or 17.6%, Peter – 74 or 15.5%, Jacob – 57 or 12%, Rein – 37 or 7.8%, Jaak – 36 + Jahk – 1 or 7.8%, Jurr – 35 or 7.3%, Simon – 19 + Siemon – 16 or 7.3%, Thom –29 or 6.1%. Only 88 or 18.6% of men have other names. The most common first names found in more than 5% of Ilzene manor women are Anne – 87 or 16.2%, Maije – 71 or 13.2%, Ilse – 70 or 13%, Mahrja – 62 + Mahrje – 1 or 11.7%, Liese – 50 + Leese – 1 + Leeʃe – 1 + Lieʃe – 5 or 10.6%, Greeta – 39 or 7.3%, Maddel – 12 + Maddele – 26 or 7.1%. Only 112 or 20.9% of women have other names. It is known that the Latvian and Estonian anthropological systems have much in common. According to the graphetics and morphological features, the forenames Jahn, Jurr, Ihwan, Dahw, Inda, Fritz, Gust, Indrik, Krisch, Ehrman, Gürgen, Otto, and Retsch can be considered more appropriate for the anthropological system of the Latvian language. The forenames Jaak and Andres are more in line with the Estonian anthropological system. Other male forenames have no features that allow them to be attributed to one or the other anthroponymic system. Forenames Greeta, Dahrte, Barbala, Carline, Gedde, Juhle, Mascha seem to be more in line with the Latvian anthropological system. The forenames Ilse (if with s), Mahrja, Maddele, Ahle, Ohle (with changes characteristic of Ilzene dialect), and Stiene are more in line with the Estonian anthropological system. The other forenames of women have no features that allow them to be attributed to one or another anthroponymic system. In general, the forenames recorded in Ilzene manor in 1826 show the characteristics of both the Estonian and Latvian anthroponymic systems. There are some forenames that are different from those in other manors outside the area inhabited by leivs. In order to be able to use forenames as markers of ethnic identity, extensive research of historical personal names is required in all manors of the area inhabited by leivs, as well as outside the leivs’ area in Vidzeme.

Very little critical attention has been directed toward biographical writings on Haydn and Mozart in the second and third decades of the nineteenth century, following the first wave of work by Friedrich Schlichtegroll and Franz Niemetschek (for Mozart, 1793, 1798) and Georg August Griesinger and Albert Dies (for Haydn, 1809, 1810). Examining varied biographically oriented materials in books, short profiles, anecdotes, and fiction, this article establishes contrasting narratives for the two composers during this period: Mozart was regarded as thoroughly immersed in music from beginning to end, born into it as an infant prodigy and dying in the act of writing it for the Requiem, encapsulating a unified life and oeuvre; and Haydn embraced a rags-to-riches, triumph-over-adversity story—poor at birth and in his youth but eventually feted as one of Western music's greatest figures—with full-fledged life-work alignment at death potentially compromised by a perceived decline in compositional powers toward the end. The article also traces influences of one narrative on the other, especially Mozart's on Haydn, including through accounts of Haydn's Creation and death. By explaining the diverging and converging narratives associated with Haydn and Mozart, I identify the second and third decades of the nineteenth century not as a protracted biographical cold spot but rather as a springboard and inspiration for future scholarly endeavor, including the serious, extended studies of Georg von Nissen, Alexandre Oulibicheff, and Otto Jahn (1828, 1843, and 1856 respectively).

Kasimir Fajans und Oswald Göhring entdeckten 1913 das von ihnen Brevium (Bv) genannte Element 91 als kurzlebiges Protactiniumisotop 234mPa in unmittelbarer Folge des von Alexander S. Russell, Frederick Soddy und Fajans entdeckten radioaktiven Verschiebungsgesetzes, nachdem das als UX bezeichnete thoriumähnliche Tochterprodukt des Urans noch ein entsprechend der Voraussage von Dimitri Mendeleev tantalähnliches unbekanntes Radioelement enthalten muss. Auf der Suche nach dem langlebigen Mutterkörper des Actiniums fanden Otto Hahn und Lise Meitner 1918 das langlebige Isotop des Breviums (231Pa), das sie Protactinium nannten. Obgleich sie es als Isotop des Breviums bezeichneten, wurden sie in der Folgezeit nicht nur als Namensgeber; sondern meist auch als Entdecker des Elementes Nr. 91 genannt
In 1913 Kasimir Fajans and Oswald Göhring discovered the element number 91as its short-lived isotope 234mPa. They named it brevium (Bv). The discovery was the result of the displacement law discovered by Alexander Smith Russell, Frederick Soddy and Fajans. According to this law and the periodic system of Dimitri Mendeleev the daughter of uranium UX must contain an unknown radioelement chemical similar to tantalum. In 1918 during the search of the mother of actinium Otto Hahn and Lise Meitner found the long-lived Isotope of Brevium (231Pa), which they designated as protactinium. Later often is written, that Hahn and Meitner have non-only given the name but also discovered the element number 91

ZusammenfassungDer Beitrag thematisiert signifikante Berührungen zwischen Wiener Kreis und Heidelberger Weber-Kreis, wie sie sich hauptsächlich in der kritischen Auseinandersetzung um den modernen Kapitalismus ergeben haben. Die Kontakte wurden primär durch Neurath und Lederer hergestellt. Unter fünf Aspekten wird das Diskursfeld dieser Berührungen abgesteckt. Den kulturellen Rahmen liefern Jugendbewegung und Lebensreform mit ihrem „Hunger nach Ganzheit“. Erörtert wird zweitens der Zusammenhang von „Gemeinschaft“ und „Gemeinwirtschaft“ für das lebensreformerische Wirtschaftsdenken. Drittens sind die Begegnungen zwischen Jugend und Professoren auf den von Eugen Diederichs organisierten Lauensteiner Kulturtagungen im welthistorischen Jahr von 1917 auszuwerten. Daran anschließend geht es viertens um die Pläne und Probleme der „Sozialisierung“ in der Revolution von 1918/1919. Im Ergebnis lassen sich fünftens in der Konstellation Neurath-Lederer-Weber die Gegensätze und Überschneidungen zwischen Weber-Kreis und Wiener Kreis ermitteln.

ZusammenfassungDer hier in einem Auszug edierte Text von Hans Reichenbach hat schon vor über vier Jahrzehnten einige Aufmerksamkeit erfahren, als er 1974 von Ulrich Linse ausführlich diskutiert und vier Jahre später von Maria Reichenbach in Übersetzung in Reichenbachs Selected Writings 1909–1953 aufgenommen wurde. Ein Jahr davor hatte sich Andreas Kamlah im Anhang seiner deutschsprachigen Edition von Reichenbachs The Rise of Scientific Philosophy (1951) auf diesen Text bezogen. Sein ursprünglicher Erscheinungsort war ein drei Aufsätze umfassender Band, den Reichenbach gemeinsam mit den Autoren der anderen beiden Beiträge, Hermann Kranold (1888–1942) und Carl Landauer (1891–1983), ediert und als Vorbereitung des 13. Freistudententages im Mai 1913 publiziert hat. Der spätere Wirtschaftswissenschaftler Carl Landauer war seit 1912 Mitglied der SPD. Kranold, der Medizin und Nationalökonomie studierte, trat ebenfalls 1912 in die SPD ein und arbeitete 1919 unter anderem mit Otto Neurath die Sozialisierungsprogramme für Sachsen und Bayern aus.

Streszczenie:
1. Objetivos: Describir cómo afectó la pandemia y el confinamiento a los pacientes con trastorno mental grave, y determinar su nivel de miedo al COVID-19, analizando si hay diferencias según ser o no fumador, género o diagnóstico. 2. Material y métodos: Se realizó un subanálisis transversal dentro de otro estudio prospectivo (a partir de los datos recogidos en 2020 para un estudio de Sarramea-Crespo y Jaén- Moreno), incluyéndose 126 pacientes con esquizofrenia o trastorno bipolar, fumadores y no fumadores, que cumplimentasen un cuestionario vía telefónica: se valoró su nivel de compresión de la pandemia y medidas de autoprotección, y cómo les afectó el confinamiento. Asimismo, cumplimentaron la Escala de Miedo al COVID-19 (FCV-19S) y la escala de desesperanza de Beck (BHS). Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó el programa SPSS 25. 3. Resultados: El 96% de sujetos dijeron entender y cumplir las medidas de autoprotección. El 24.6% aumentaron su consumo de tabaco en el confinamiento, pero solo el 2% el de alcohol. En el 22% empeoró su enfermedad mental pero solo el 12% requirió aumentar su tratamiento. El 85.8% refirió seguimiento de su Centro de Salud Mental pero solo el 38.9% de Atención Primaria. La puntuación media para la FCV-19S fue de 17.7±5.5 puntos, siendo la única diferencia mayor puntuación en mujeres (p <0.001). La puntuación media para la BHS fue de 5.39±4.37. Hubo una correlación entre FCV-19S y BHS. Conclusiones: Dado que los pacientes TMG son conscientes del COVID-19 y las medidas de autoprotección, y su enfermedad mental no se ha visto alterada por la pandemia, se debe prestar más atención a su hábito tabáquico y comorbilidades físicas, puesto que 1 de cada 4 pacientes aumentó su consumo de tabaco. En cuanto al nivel de miedo al COVID-19, solo se encontraron diferencias según el género, siendo mayor en mujeres.
