Pełny tekst źródłaCorporate social responsibility (CSR) represents a major concern for companies that need to integrate not only the economic and financial dimensions of their activities but also the social and environmental aspects. The scope of a company's responsibility is no longer limited to these borders but extends to all of these business partners. Also, there has been a resurgence of both academic and professional studies on CSR diffusion processes in the supply chain (SC). However, many academic studies tend to analyze this issue at the dyadic level or focus on a dimension of CSR. This thesis attempts to fill this gap and questions the mechanisms for extending CSR at the SC level. Thus, we are particularly interested in the role that a focal company, a central actor in the network, can play in the implementation of CSR actions in satellites companies. Our analysis is carried out in three stages. In the first, we try to construct an original conceptual model integrating both the governance mechanisms used by the focal company and its motivations to implement them. The next step concern methodological choices that are decisive for our research : we choose to test our model in the agri-food sector using structural equations. The various results obtained will be presented and analyzed, in a third stage, to allow us to answer our initial questioning. In addition to the validity of our measurement scales, the results indicate that governance by the focal company contributes to the implementation of CSR actions in the SC. We identify the most relevant mechanisms as well as the levers of action towards a more sustainable management of SC

Pełny tekst źródłaStrengthening concerns regarding development issues, well-being and quality of ecosystems, generates new economic pressures (labeling, specifications, etc.), standards (regulations, taxation) and also pressures from civil society (“consom'action”, boycott); it requires companies to take into account these issues, that is to say, to identify, assess and improve their impacts. Many tools exist to assess the impacts of product chains but only the method of Life Cyle Assessment allows a comprehensive and multicriteria evaluation, covering transfers of impacts from one stage of the life cycle to the other and from one impact to the next. The development of Social LCA is highly desired and demanded by the actors. The core question of this thesis has been to examine the principles for developing such a method, its conceptual, theoretical and methodological framework. As the identified needs in terms of research are numerous, specific contributions of this work were threefold: i) proposing a new theoretical framework addressing the issues of well-being and development. ii) developing a relationship assessing the impacts of creating economic activity and income on the health of populations, the “Preston Pathway” iii) proposing a methodological framework articulating the Multiple Capitals Model and the Capabilities concept. Food chains, and most specifically, import fruit and vegetables chains, have served as the empirical framework for this thesis

Pełny tekst źródłaTopic of interest : The influence of natural environment in managerial strategies is widely studied, but authors mainly focus on environmental issues and not enough on practices. Sustainable development is a main reference to analyse and describe environmental strategies but because it is an ambivalent and wide-ranging notion, it is difficult to define in concrete terms what it means within the firms. Thesis : Implementing sustainable development implies the involvement of the firm's partners in the food supply-chain, in ways which depend on what the company perceives as responsibility issues. Main goals : This research is intended to analyse sustainable strategies in the food supply-chain, that is to identify models of implementation, and establish a link with environmental issues. This research is based on a framework which identifies three stages of environmental strategies (prevention of pollution, product stewardship, sustainable strategies) linked to environmental issues. Method : This research analyses five cases of sustainable strategies in the food supply-chain, in France and Switzerland : BIOLAIT, ALPINA SAVOIE, CARREFOUR, COOP and MIGROS. A qualitative analysis has been conducted, through internal and external documents, direct observation and interviews dealing with environmental strategy, its implementation and the environmental issues. Main results : Partners in the food supply-chain can be considered as stakeholders to implement a sustainable strategy. This research identifies two models of relations with those partners : responsibility with the producers (which means the producers actively contribute to the environmental strategy) and responsibility towards the producers (which implies helping the producers to reduce environmental impacts)

They can be treated thanks to the following question: why and how do small companies look for sustainable development through "Organic food" labelled production? First part aims at understanding what is sustainable development with reference to the stakeholders theory. Organic food production can be seen as one of the best sustainable activities and an effective way to cream the market for small companies. Based on induction, a qualitative inquiry has been carried out. This inquiry suggests the existence of "exact training" and "exact involvement" principles. Indeed, small companies change their practices as little as possible to keep safe their effectiveness. Finally, the study shows that the adoptive process is similar whatever the initial corporate strategy is (intrinsic or instrumental strategy). Then, it puts into relief a paradox between sustainable development principles and the normative way "Organic food" labelling is run in small companies

Pełny tekst źródłaGrowing environmental preoccupations and a rapid evolution in food consumption tendancies have led us to analyse the strict interdependance between farming and food production with regards to the natural environment. Environmentaly friendly food products are the result of modifications in production practices, that we consider to be a technological change within the farm, and thus add a social fonction to the food function, making these products highly specific. The major stake in developing these products will be to suceed in showing their economic and commercial value. From varius examples of organic or integrated products, we have made an attempt to list the quality conditions requiered for these products. These conditions are established through coordination between agents and quality agreements based on trust. But new technological changes in environmentally friendly farming practices are going to make production structures evolve because they necessitate individual and collective learning. This evolution can lead to new forms of business organizations in order to maintain the specificity of theses products to the end consumer. Observing varius examples allow us to suggest some ways to develop these products

Pełny tekst źródłaFor the past twenty years, the environmental issue has been present in all areas of society, and the environment has become the central problem in the formulation of narratives and collective projects. The agri-food system provides an invaluable field for observing processes of ecologisation. Through an ethnographic survey conducted over three years (2017-2020) in the south-est of France, this research examines the ways in which the environmental issue is problematized, adopted or criticised within collectives that associate a range of actors aiming at transforming food production and consumption patterns. It combines a socio-anthropological approach of public action with a pragmatic approach of collective action and focuses on the way in which institutional, economic and civil society actors address the ecological issue in the agri-food field. This study focuses, on the one hand, on territorial public action programmes (e.g., “Projets Alimentaires Terriaux”) and, on the other hand, on targeted collective initiatives (participative certifications, social and solidarity economy initiatives, consumers mobilisations, producers’ groups). Firstly, it suggests that the narratives of ecologisation produced locally reflect both the institutionalisation of environment and the specificity of the two territorial contexts studied. Secondly, it shows that the collective problematization of the environmental question can be a source of tension within the collectives under study, especially when it undermines the established routines, values, and forms of organization. Finally, this work shows that the advent of the environmental question is expressed by a “projectification” of action, both individual and collective, revealing a quest for new purposes in a time of crisis
