Genetic variation is important in plant breeding. However, information on the genetic variability of Arabica coffee especially in coffee field of North Sumatra was not yet available. Magnitude of morphological variation, genotypic variation, phenotypic variation, heritability, genetic advance, genetic correlation, and phenotypic correlation of plant vigors and yield components of 28 genotypes were evaluated using nested design. This research showed morphological and genetic variations of the genotypes in the field. Based on the research locations as operational taxonomic unit, the genotypes were separated into three clusters. Most of the parameters had low to moderate genotypic variation, while phenotypic variation was moderate to high. Heritability and genetic advance were low, moderate, and high. Several plant vigors and yield components had a positive significant genetic and phenotypic correlation one another, and several had negative ones. Coffee berry borer infestation (CBBI) had a highly significant negative genetic correlation with leaf width (rG = -0.309**), leaf weight (rG = -0.671**), fruit diameter (rG = -0.320**), and bean length (rG = -0.175**). CBBI showed a significant positive genetic correlation with mesocarp pH (rG = 0.134*). To reduce CBBI, selection for higher leaf weight is better. Selection on lower pH of mesocarp could be considered to decrease CBBI.Keywords: cluster analysis, genetic correlation, genetic heritability, variability

The problem of nurse performance is still an issue in various countries. The performance of nurses always attracts attention in Indonesia. The Province of North Sumatra even stated that the performance of nurses decreased, from 0.52 in 2013 to 0.48 in 2014, and continued to decline until 2015. Good nurse performance is a determining factor for the reputation of a hospital before the community in achieving success. Supervision by the head of the nurse's work unit is a problem related to the nurse's performance appraisal process. This study uses a quantitative approach, observational, with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 64 nurses in the Inpatient Installation of Aek Kanopan Hospital who were selected according to the criteria. The research data obtained were analyzed using univariate analysis which aims to describe the frequency distribution related to supervision data, Nurse Work Performance, and Patient Safety Implementation. Bivariate analysis which aims to prove the relationship between supervision and nurse performance on the implementation of patient safety uses Pearson's correlation with a 95% confidence level. There is a relationship between clinical supervision on the overall performance of nurses with a Pearson Chi-Square value = 5.146 and a p = 0.023 (p <0.05). In addition, there is also a relationship between the overall performance of inpatient nurses on the implementation of inpatient safety, with a Pearson Chi-Square value of 12.292 and a value of p = 0.000* (p <0.05). The better the performance of the nurse in the inpatient room, the implementation of inpatient patient safety will also be better.

Abstract Food Estates is a government scheme to feed a rising population. Field data demonstrate the usage of diesel fuel, electricity, and chemicals to apply insecticides, fertilisers, and fungicides, which harms the environment and requires energy-saving methods. This study examines Bliss potato cultivation energy ratios. This research examined 0.13 hectares of potato farming energy. Machinery, human resources, diesel fuel, chemicals, fertilisers, manure, irrigation water, seeds, and power are studied in potato production. Low energy ratio (0.724) compared to sample yield (4.3). The energy ratio rises with yield generation, but yield per unit of energy is low. A negative net energy balance exists. The research advises increasing potato output to meet energy ratios. Potato farmers may save money, minimize environmental impact, and increase productivity by improving energy efficiency.

In many developing countries, tourism is used as a main strategy to achieve greater economic performance. Increased income, both directly and as a result of the multiplier effects of tourism revenues, earnings of foreign exchange, new employment opportunities, access to foreign direct investment and economic diversification are the potential economic benefits of tourism. Statistics on international tourist arrivals in Indonesia showed an upward trend over the past few years and reached the highest number in 2014, recording almost 9.44 million arrivals. The province of North Sumatra is well known as a tourist destination, as well as an economic hub and commercial centre. Indeed, the province was able to attract almost 28% (237,830) of tourist arrivals in 2014, an increase of 4.12 % from 2013. With such a tourist arrivals trend, the tourism sectors has significantly contributed to the economic development of North Sumatera. This paper examined the role of tourism receipts in the short-run economic growth in North Sumatra through error correction method (ECM) from 1986-2014. Econometrics method were used, such as Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) for unit root test, error correction method (ECM) for short run dynamics, and Granger causality test for causal relationships. The standard Granger causality test reveals that there is a unidirectional short-run Granger causality from tourism receipts to economic growth. This study provides evidence to support a tourism-led growth hypothesis in North Sumatra.

Abstract Sumatra has extensive forests, rich in tree species, especially the Dipterocarpaceae species, which have high economic and ecological value in the development sector. The enormous number of Dipterocarpaceae species and the paucity of herbarium collections make identifying species quite easy. The study’s goal was to learn more about the Dipterocarpaceae family tree’s species, diameter, and height in the Mandailing Natal Forest Production Management Unit (KPHP ) in North Sumatra. Diameter and height data of Shorea sp was based on secondary data processing. The inventory revealed that the Dipterocarpaceae family has 12 different species. Trees in the Dipterocarpaceae family have an average diameter of 44.5 cm and a height of 20 cm. This inventory is expected to offer information on the several Dipterocarpacea families that can be found in this area, particularly those with high economic value and those that are protected.

Indonesia is consisting of 34 provinces with their own customs and folk songs. North Sumatra is one of the provinces with diverse and meaningful folk songs. Today, the influence of modern music has begun to shift the position of folk music, whereas folk songs are a national culture that can significantly foster a sense of patriotism in the younger generation of Indonesia and have moral values that need to be passed on to the younger generation. As an education media, card games can be the problem solver considering that card games are more fun, and able to stimulate children to unconsciously learn. The design is carried out through several stages, including the data collection through distributing questionnaires to the target market, conducting existing and comparative studies of other education media, literature studies through books and journals, interviews with experts, experimental research, and playtesting on the target segment, namely students aged 12-15 years old. The result of this design is a set of card game to introduce North Sumatra folk song with mechanics that are: set collecting, hand management, card drafting and singing. Two to four players engaged in the gameplay lasting 20-40 minutes long. The game has two card categories with the mission of collecting and sorting song cards according to the objective. Through one to three games, players gain experience and are able to remember 1 to 3 titles of North Sumatra folk songs. Global warming, climate changes mostly associates with solar-renewable energy; however wind-energy potential has no detail reports in Indonesia. This study aims to mapping of characteristics and potential of wind as renewable-energy from long-term (1997-2009) satellite remote-sensing. Wind direction (WD), speed (WS) derives from microwave/ scatterometer sensor on satellite operational years as follows: ADEOS (1997), DMSP (1998-1999), AMI (1997-1999), QuikSCAT (1999- 2009). Data processed into 0.25o grid, monthly temporal resolution. The regional characteristics of WD/WS, seasonal and zonal-longitudinal reveals by statistic. Electrical energy derives from kinetic energy of turbine-blades per-unit time. Energy conversion uses power-curves and technical parameters of 1.50 and 3.40 MW (GE 1.5s, 3.4-137 models) onshore installations with 25km2 per point, 15% availability area. Result shows WS has low characteristics in Indonesian-waters (<3.7ms-1). WS has high at north-south Java-Sumatra, Banda waters (<6.9ms-1). The zonal-seasonal wind variability of WD, WS stables at equator. Increases of degree-zonal (>5deg), wind curve follows north-south hemisphere characteristics and crosses in April, October. The north-west, south-east monsoon shows clearly only on north-western of Java-Sumatra waters. WS has range of 0-25.20ms-1, average 6.64ms-1 with Std. 1.64ms-1. With these WS, generation of electrical energy has range from 104.0 to 2230.5 kWh per-point installation grid.

River is a habitat for many aquatic organisms. Water quality is themain river characteristic that strongly influences distribution pattern, biodiversity, and abundance of aquatic organisms. Nekton isaquatic organism that swims and moves actively on their desire, for example, fish, shrimp, amphibian and also big aquatic insects. Thepurpose of this research was to know the habitat condition and biodiversity of nekton in the upstream of Wampu watershed. The habitatcondition was measured by examining the temperature, visibility, flow velocity, depth of waters, dissolved oxygen, pH, kind ofsubstrate, the width of the river, body width of river and rate of flow of the river. The type of nekton was determined by catching thenekton using a backpack of electrofishing unit with an electric flow of 12 Volt and 9 Ampere. The upstream habitat condition of Wampuwatershed was characterized by big stone, pebble, sandy type of substrate with moderate to strong current flow, and the clear aquatic.Physical and chemical parameters in upstream of Wampu watershed were still sustainable and appropriate as habitat for fish and shrimp. The result of this research showed a variety of nekton collected, comprised of 27 species of fish, five species of shrimp of inland water. Two species of fish from Tor genera, i.e., T. soro and T. tambroides were also found in this study. The highest diversity (H´) in thisresearch site was the Bahorok River (2.12), followed by Landak River (1.93) at the second, and the lowest was Berkail River with onlyabout 1.50 diversity index.

Abstract Indonesia is the main producer of robusta coffee, while the coffee world wants Arabica coffee. The study was conducted in the lowlands at an altitude of 10 meters above sea level using a randomized block design. The treatment was 9 varieties of Sumatran Arabica coffee with three replications. The results showed that the growth of plant height and stem diameter of Arabica coffee in the lowlands was normal. The characteristics of internode length and primary branch length have narrow variability, the characteristics of plant height, stem diameter and length of stem segments have moderate variability, and characteristics of the number of pairs of leaves and canopy area have wide variability. Arabica coffee from Sumatra Island shows a close relationship to coffee from Nangroe Aceh Darusalam and North Sumatra and quite far from coffee from South Sumatra. The growth of Arabica coffee is normal. The number of pairs of leaves and canopy area can be used as selection criteria. The relationship between arabica coffee from Nangroe Aceh Darussalam and North Sumatra is quite close, whereas the coffee from South Sumatra it is quite distant. Germplasm from Sumatra under study needs to be added from other coffee-producing regions.

There is no prevailing architectural style like there is in Riau, West Sumatra, or Java. This campus uses conventional architecture in its construction as it is a university with an architectural study program. The scope of the use of regional architecture on a multicultural campus environment is investigated in this study. Several regional architectural applications have been made using the technique of observation and research of traditional architectural theories of the tribes living in North Sumatra.

Covid-19 pandemic cases are currently increasing and expanding throughout the world, especially in Indonesia in the province of North Sumatra. Data on the number of cases spread in the province of North Sumatra which is summarized and published, sometimes there are still disputes over the number and lack of organization in the number of records and their distribution, so there are often errors in the data collected by the health department and which will be published to the public. The case study in this research is the design of an information system that regulates the process of recording, moving, accumulating, and mapping GIS data maps to the publication of Positive case data, Patient Under Surveillance, Polymerase Chain Reaction, and Rapid Test results directly through a web-based covid-19 data reporting application. Sourced from each user of every health facility in each district and city from each sub-district in the province of North Sumatra to support the accuracy of data in decision-making built at the North Sumatra Province Information and Communication Office. The method used in developing the application uses the waterfall method, starting from the needs analysis stage, design, implementation to testing until maintenance. The results of the implementation and testing were carried out using the Blackbox and Whitebox methods. Presentation of GIS web data using google maps has not used a threshold value based on a calculated algorithm, but still uses the determination of crisp values so that the results cannot be said to be relevant as a determinant.

Abstract The performance of Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica L.) depends on the climate, soil, pests, and elevation. Information on the performance of Arabica coffee growing in the changing climate of North Sumatra has not been available so far. To provide such information, 28 genotypes were studied. The nested design used three factors. Seven climate zones, two locations in each climate zone, and two coffee farms (genotype, G) in each location were selected. The research showed that the genotypes were highly significantly different (α = 0.01). G5, G6, and G20 produced the heaviest hundred beans. G13, G19, and G25 suffered the least coffee berry borer infestation (CBBI). The length of rainy season became the most important factor (r2 = 0.54). The CBBI (y, %) correlated significantly and negatively with the elevation (x, m) with the equation of y = 46.4 – 0.025x. The climate zones showed a significant difference (α = 0.05). The genotypes produced heavy beans also in two wet months of the rainy season and one dry month. The temperature (x, °C) was the most important factor affecting CBBI (r2 = 0.65) with the equation of y = –338.2 + 15.5x. The soil pH correlated significantly and positively with beans weight and bean width.

The purpose of this study was to find out how the role of local wisdom in supporting deforestation monitoring policies in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. This research method is qualitative with purposive sampling and the informants are the Technical Implementation Unit of the Forest Management Unit (KPH) Region I Stabat and the people who live and live around the forest in Langkat Regency. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data was processed and analyzed as a whole and systematically. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the the Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 18 Tahun 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction in the implementation of monitoring of deforestation in the Forestry Service of KPH Region I Stabat is still not in accordance with community expectations such as legal certainty, sustainable forest existence, management and utilization of forest products, capacity and coordination of law enforcement officers. The role of local wisdom in supporting deforestation policies in Langkat Regency is that the forest management carried out by the government has not fully accommodated the community based forest management pattern. Forestry policy is still oriented towards state-dominated forest management system. The state-based forest management pattern relies on the government as the main actor in forest management, which is then supported by large capital owners, while the position of the community (customary community) is in a determining position. Legally political; this policy is inseparable from the need for natural resources, especially in the forestry sector.

INTRODUCTION: Antenatal Care (ANC) data collected at Matlab Thana and shows that the maternal mortality rate for mothers aged 15 – 19 years is 7.4 per 1000 live births while for mothers aged 20 – 24 it is 3.8 to 1000 live births. For mothers under the age of 15, 17, 7. This ratio was then cited in the 1989 WHO volume compilation of age-specific maternal mortality data from 40 countries over approximately the same period as the Bangladesh study suggesting a much more moderate risk of excess for young mothers, but most of them were ignored in the scientific literature. Rizki Dewi et al’s 2017 research-led most midwives (69.7%) 10T standard in good integrated antenatal service. The purpose of the research to know the knowledge of midwives in the application of antenatal care to prevent maternal death in Dairi Regency of North Sumatra. METHODS: Design research was quantitative research with a quantitative design experiment. Models used, observed/measured changes. Indonesia is one of the countries that will enter the era of demographic bonus. The demographic bonus is that the productive age population's growth is more significant than the structure of the unproductive age population. Meanwhile, Indonesia is still experiencing difficulties in one of the health problems often experienced by adolescents, namely mental health. Medan is the capital city of North Sumatra Province, which has the 8th largest depression sufferer. A design approach that can answer this question is biophilic design. Biophilic design is a design approach based on biophilia, which is intended to create a space that can improve the well-being of human life physically and mentally by approaching the positive relationship between humans and nature. The Mental Health Center design method uses qualitative research methods, which will go through several processes that aim to identify the biophilic design and compare it to the interior design facility standards.

Kata Kunci: Analisis morfostruktur, zona penunjaman, zona deformasi aktif, busur muka, kelurusan, sesar anjak, sesar geser, perlipatan, perlipatan naik, kemiringan penunjaman lempeng Morphostructure analyses of study area demonstrate three different units of geological structures: subduction zone, active deformation zone and fore-arc region, which include Fore Arc High and Fore Arc Basin. The plate subduction zone observes along Sunda Trench parallel with active deformation zone. Structure geology in Fore Arc High builds an accretionary prism system. It was composed by thrust fault, strike slip fault, folding and thrust fold. General trend of structural pattern is NNE-SSE at the north of 5°N, NW-SE direction at around 3°-5°N and changed in direction relative to E-W at about 2°-3°N. This direction variation of structural pattern trend was interpreted as a response to increase of obliquity degree of subducted plate from Simeulue area to 5° -7°N, or in general, from southern of Sumatra to north of Sumatra. NS trend lineament has developed in the middle part of study area that also sliced the NW-SE main structural direction. These structural lineaments interpreted as dextral strike slip fault and it is possibly still active. The purpose of the study was to assess the Covid-19 vaccine related to acceptability, knowledge and willingness to pay among public health students in North Sumatra Province. The research design is an online cross-sectional survey using "Google Form" with a sample of all public health students at Sari Mutiara Indonesia University and Prima Indonesia University who have not received the Covid-19 vaccine (91 respondents). The study found that the acceptability of the Covid-19 vaccine among public health students in North Sumatra Province was still low (46.2%) as was the willingness to pay (36.3%). There is no relationship between knowledge and acceptability of the Covid-19 vaccine. The majority of public health students think vaccines are a cure for COVID-19. There is a significant relationship between willingness to pay and the acceptability of the Covid-19 vaccine for public health students, so the free vaccine program will determine the level of coverage of the Covid-19 vaccination. Health education campaign interventions about the Covid-19 vaccine from public health experts are needed to straighten students' knowledge of the Covid-19 vaccine, which is ultimately expected to be able to build confidence in the effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine.

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia faces challenges in supplying fuel to various regions. Some regions have small oil reserves and small fuel demand. Other regions have greater fuel demands. One solution to overcome the issue of fuel supply is to build and develop mini refineries with a scale of 6,000 – 20,000 barrels per day to maximize the potential of existing oil reserves, reach remote areas, and meet domestic demands. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of a mini oil refinery from a technical and economic perspective. The feed used for this plant is light crude oil with API gravity 47.3002 from the Belida block, South Sumatra. The plant is designed with a capacity of 10,000 barrels per day to produce intermediate products. The production process at this plant uses a simple process to reduce capital costs, which consists of a Preheater, Pre-Flash Distillation Unit, Atmospheric Distillation Unit, and Vacuum Distillation Unit. From the results of economic analysis, the obtained capital cost of IDR 517,640 million and operational cost of IDR 2,860,622 million. Meanwhile, the payback period is 4.5 years, and the break-even point is 48%. By considering the economic and technical aspects, this Mini Oil Refinery is feasible to be built.

One of the biggest cities in Indonesia is Medan, which serves as the provincial capital of North Sumatra and is growing pretty quickly. There are many different cultures ingrained in the city of Medan itself. The several varied tribes who call the city home demonstrate this. In Indonesia, diversity and cultural distinctions are highly valued. As a result, it is imperative to conserve the artistic traditions of the many ethnic groups that make up Medan. A museum is, broadly speaking, an organization or non-profit that works to educate and serve the public. Its open-minded approach is used in the gathering, preservation, study, sharing, and public display of actual and virtual artifacts for educational purposes. both learning and enjoyment. A museum's primary purpose is to gather, preserve, and periodically display artifacts for the general public or select guests. The primary issue is that there is now no Karo Museum in Medan City, despite the fact that it is one of the biggest cities in Indonesia and was founded by a member of the Karo Tribe. Consequently, it is anticipated that the layout of the Karo Traditional Virtual Museum would offer more thorough historical details regarding the history of Medan City and the Karo Culture.

Indonesia is a country that has a society with very diverse cultures and ethnicities and this is often referred to as a homogeneous society. The diversity of ethnicities and cultures creates a diversity of views and treatment in every activity and ritual of life which creates a different color in every cultural celebration. However, recently this ethnic diversity has not had an impact on mutual respect but rather there has been conflict between culture and ethnicity or also known as interpersonal conflict. Where this research will develop and design multicultural learning based on cultural literacy to develop students' abilities in resolving interpersonal conflicts. The specific target to be achieved is the production of a learning design which is realized in the form of a multicultural learning textbook based on cultural literacy which can be used as a common reference for Pancasila and Citizenship Education Departments throughout North Sumatra who are members of the AP3KnI association for the North Sumatra Region. The research method used is the R&D method following the Borg & Gall procedure. The instrument used was an expert validation questionnaire which was analyzed using the Percentage Average Score (PRS), while data analysis related to students' abilities in interpersonal conflict resolution was carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques on the results of observations during observations when the learning process was going well in the classroom. class or outside class. The results of the research show that the textbook design is declared valid and suitable for use as a guide for students in multicultural learning in Citizenship Education courses. Library Promotion currently holds custodial (minor) positions in Information Science and Library Education at various universities in Indonesia. So don't be surprised if the production unit, which is then called the library, stagnates and stops working. Developing a blog-based library expands the possibilities of your user base, but using a freeware database is sufficient to become the backbone of your library automation. In the current Development 4.0 era, library promotion through Instagram social media is considered more effective and efficient. Interaction between librarians and users can now take place virtually by utilizing existing information technology. The researchers looked specifically at one account of university libraries: universities. Communicating with users via Instagram is an effective way to advertise in university libraries. This article also describes the forms of interaction provided by the Instagram application and how the UIN North Sumatra Library itself uses the facilities available on Instagram. The data collection method consisted of observing the Instagram account of the North Sumatra State Islamic University Library and conducting a literature review. The results of a survey conducted by the UIN Sumut library utilized all existing facilities on Instagram to promote the library.
